main function is to catalogue the immortals and explain their origins. One of Works
Day s roles is to define the author s moral values as it relates to his feud with his
brother Perses. This dichotomy reveals itself with the conflicting versions of
Prometheusand Pandora present in the two poems. In Works and Days, Hesiod
attempts to expose Perses s mistakes through the interaction of Prometheus and his
brother Epimetheus. Hesiod relates himself to Prometheus and takes great effort to

indigenous people of Australia have been subject to social inequalities that have left
their community ravaged. This treatment of the indigenous people was justified by
the concept of Racial Othering, and it continues to perpetuate the unequal treatment
of the indigenous people in Australia, to this day. One group of people are deemed
the norm, and everyone else is designated as the Other, who are considered deviant
(Fozdar, Wilding Hawkins 2009, pp. 4 5). In the case of the Indigenous people,
Racial Othering was originally based on physical differences determined by genetics
that differed from raceto race, but today it also takes into account the cultural
differences of people (Wilding Hawkins 2009, p. 5). What exactly Racial Othering

For eight hours, I got to step into the shoes of over 48 million Americans who live
with a hearing loss. I had the opportunity to experience what it means to have an
invisible impairment in a world made for those who have good hearing. The bright
orange earplug served as my ticket to one of the most humbling adventures I have
ever undertaken. I would have never imagined that a 32dB unilateral hearingloss
would cause so much frustration. With frustration, however, came understanding and
