On the digipack itself there are numerous characters represented, 
the main one being of the man who features on both the front cover 
of the CD and also inside the CD itself. Additionally the other image 
used for the back of the CD is of four women, who alike to the main 
image of the man are not directly addressing the audience. Both of 
the characters are shown to be at some sort of 1950’s fairground 
scene, this can be seen through the costumes worn by the both of 
the characters, their hairstyles and general style.

how is the narrative

structured? 
A narrative enigma is created through both the front cover image, 
which is additionally used again on the inside leaflet within the CD, 
and the image of the four women used on the back of the CD. The 
identity of the people who feature in the CD digipack is unknown, 
although the image used of the women can relate to The Smiths, as 
they were known for their alternative rock, indie style of music 
which reflects within the image itself.

Although this album is a compilation album, it follows the similar CD 
cover image style as those which have been previously released, 
where images which relate to the band are used as a cover. 
Specifically the what can be considered iconic image used on the 
back of the CD which has been used as a result of the women who 
feature having the appearance of the 4 members of the band, this 
could connote the humorous side of the band which can be 
interpreted to reflect within their music. 
Setting- mise en 
scene 
The setting of a 1950’s fairground links in with the narrative enigma 
which has been created, although the saturation on both of the 
images used have been edited quite heavily, the people within the 
images stand out even further. The colour scheme within the CD 
digipack is primarily pink and green, which provides a good contrast
