Recommendation Letter For My Superiors At The Company I Work
The following paper will establish how I will communicate a request to my superiors at the
company I work for. In order for my request to be properly communicated to my superiors I will
firstly need to clearly identify the request. Secondly, I will need to analysis my audience. Thirdly, I
will need to specify which tactics will be used to influence my audience. Finally, I will write the
memo that I plan on submitting to my audience.
1. Request: The industry of construction is an industry where you have to be precise and very
accurate. This is why I will be requesting that the superiors in my company purchase a piece of
software Chief Architect and revert from using their current software Sketch up . This task will
require persuasion because the owners of the company think that using open source software like
Sketch up will be sufficient. The company has been using Sketch up for over five years and their
thought process is that its free, it works, and there is no need to pay for other software. One of
the designers and architects at the firm has tried to ask for this software in the past and the bosses
turned the idea down because the software was too expensive. The designer didn t provide any
evidence or provided little logic for his argument, which is why he was unsuccessful in influencing
the superiors. Influencing them into purchasing is the only option now and everyone in the
company acknowledges the need for such software except the superiors.

How Your Management Style Stimulates Interpersonal Energy...
Your management style stimulates interpersonal energy in the employees within your sphere of
influence. The interactions resulting from this energy may fuel the employees drive to
accomplish company goals, or they may fuel unproductive or counter productive activities. Such
negative results occur when employees desparately attempt to preserve or restore their feelings of
safety, self worth, and acceptance in what they perceive to be an unsympathetic environment.
Even minimum influence from the manager affects employees; if you never talk to an employee
again, you will still influence them by your lack of interest and distance. Two important
characteristics that will energize the employee to work with you are acceptance of their
perspectives and preferences and open communication of your perspectives and preferences that
may be different from but not better than theirs. You can demonstrate your acceptance by
expressing the following attitude: I understand your wish to do it that way. I admire your
strength in that style. My style tells me the other way is better, but I don t have any hard
evidence to support that. How does this sound? Let s work together to make the way you
suggested successful, and we ll compare notes about this other way of doing it as we go along. We
ll both learn about different ways of doing things from the experience. If you demonstrate that you
hold the employees preferences high in regard, and that you trust the wisdom of the

Discuss The Impact Of Globalization On The Automobile...
The definition of globalization is how us people increase interaction with others on a global scale
and integrate knowledge and ideas such as culture or economics to other parts of the world. The
human race is constantly on the move. It helps get everyone together and in the process exchange
information from one place to another. For the past century, the invention of automobiles has been
credited for providing one of the greatest options of personal mobility as well as one of the main
inventions to substantially shorten the distance of our world. As time goes on and technology
becomes more advanced, the globalization of the auto industry assists with manufacturing better
cars and making them more accessible around the world. However, the system isn t flawless.
Through globalization, the auto industry has a significant effect on economies around the world.
Automakers are constantly in a battle between one another, either with a foreign country or in the
same region in the global market to produce and sell a better car to earn a profit. Manufacturers
compete in various categories from vehicle performance to price and everything in between. The
profit earned through the sales of various car models can be invested towards increasing
employment ranging from engineers and designers to the workers assembling the vehicles. On the
other hand, the boom of the auto industry through globalization has caused a negative effect on the
environment. With automobileproduction increases to

How Did Architecture Influence Roman Architecture
Roman architects did not invent the Arch nor for that matter concrete, but they did however refine
and apply these key architectural techniques and materials to sublime effect we will explore the
impact the use of these two elements had on the development of Roman architecture, how they
affected everyday life in Romeand the results of their use. .
Some of the earliest evidence of the application of the arch date back to the second millennium
BCE, the Romans adopted it from other cultures and were drawn to a number of key attributes of
this shape. A popular parlour trick for illusionists is to place a crate of eggs between two solid
surfaces and place a large weight on top of it, sometimes an adult. Counter intuitively the eggs do

The resultant aggregate was very strong and durable as the numerous examples of structures
constructed using it that exist even into the present age attests. The importance of the use of concrete
by the Romans cannot be understated. Concrete allowed Roman engineers to create great
commercial structures that would not otherwise have been possible for example the port of
Caesarea which employed under water concrete technology on a large scale. In addition to the
system of aqueducts, concrete technology allowed Roman engineers to create networks of dams,
canals and cisterns that played a vital role in irrigation and feeding Rome s populace. Rome also
constructed a number of military installations including walls and strategic garrisons which helped
to defend her citizens. The construction of strategic bridges also helped logistically in moving
Roman forces across her empire which allowed her to maintain a military dominance that lasted for
centuries. Roman concrete also allowed for the creation of grand temples, baths and public
buildings that helped maintain social cohesion, supported the political system and influenced the
Roman psyche engendering a pride and confidence which no doubt played a vital role in
developing the Roman

The Visual Representation of a Body Part in Imaging...
Imaging technology is the visual representation of a body part, such as an organ, for the purpose
of a medical diagnosis. Nowadays, technologies such as X Rays, Magnetic Resonance Imaging
(MRI) and ultrasound are used everyday for medical analysis. X Rays are very useful because
they can penetrate through different materials to give an image of the interior of the body. MRI
use strong magnets to create an image of a body part, while ultrasound imaging uses sound waves.
Bone, muscle and fat absorb x rays at different levels, so the screen lets see different structures of
the body because the different levels of exposure are in different shades of gray. The main
component of an x ray machine is a vacuum tube with a cathode or filaments and an anode, which
is usually made of tungsten, a hard steel gray metal used to make electric light filaments. Electric
current passes through the filament, raising its temperature. Once it reaches a certain level of
energy, the filament starts emitting negatively charged electrons. These electrons are attracted with
great force from the positively tungsten anode, taking them through the vacuum tube at very high
speed. In one of the atom s lower orbital an electron gets knocked away when the anode collides
with electrons. An electron from the higher orbital takes place of the removed electron, releasing
energy as an X ray photon. (HowStuffWorks X Rays) Called bremsstrahlung , the reaction contains
x rays of varying wavelengths. The X ray

The State Of Sexual Harassment
Cates, S., Machin, L. (2012). The State of Sexual Harassment in America: What is the Status of
Sexual Harassment in the US Workplace Today? Journal of Global Business Management, 8(1),
133 138.
Unwanted sexual advances are inappropriate whether or not an individual is at work. This article
speaks to the minds of people who have been sexually harassed at work in the 2000s. When written,
the article explained that in the last two years sexual harassment in the workplace had actually
increased. It also explains the difference between a minor incident that may involve an
inappropriate comment and many inappropriate comments that may begin affecting workmanship.
Previous articles have stated most of the time sexual harassment is based upon leadership and
masculinity, but Cates and Machin state there is no reason behind it. According to the article, there
are many types of sexual harassment: verbal/written, physical, nonverbal (inappropriate staring),
severe/pervasive (attempted rape). These are split, according to the EEOC (Equal Employment
Opportunity Commission) into two factions, quid pro quo and hostile. The consequences of these
actions need to be enforced by not only termination, but possible convictions, as well.

Compare And Contrast Safavid And Mughal Empires
Safavid and Mughal Empires The decline of the Mongol Empire laid ground for the Ottoman,
Safavid, and Mughal empires. These three empires all had military strength, Sovereign Pride,
Religious commitment, and Aesthetic sophistication in common to varying degrees. The Safavid
and Ottoman empires are usually compared because of the wars that broke out between them and
their similar attributes. However, this will be a comparison of the Safavid and Mughal Empires.
The Mughal empirewas founded by leader Zahir al Din Muhammad, known as Babur (the tiger)
in 1526. When he defeated Ibrahim Lodi, the last of the Afghan Lodi Sultans at the First Battle
of Panipat, where they used gunpowder for the first time in India. The Mughal Empire is known
as a gunpowder empire. With the help of gunpowder weapons Babur took Delhi in 1526. When
Babur died in 1530 he left a loosely knit empire he called Mughal. The word Mughal was the
Persian term for Mongol. The Safavid Empire s founder was the Persian mystic Sheikh Safi al
Din (1254 1334), after whom the order was named. The Safavid Empire was based in what is
today Iran. This Islamic Empire was strong enough to challenge the Ottomans in the west and the
Mughals in the east. The Mughal Empire ruled most of India and Pakistan in the 16th and 17th
centuries. The empire Islam in South Asia, and caused the spread of Muslim arts and culture as

President Woodrow Wilson s Decision To Go To War Against...
The United States Senate voted eighty two to six to go to war against Germany. World War I
started in 1914. President Woodrow Wilson was a fan of French and English history, but he still
signed a pledge, that stated America s neutrality. American corporations were already selling
military weapons to both sides of the war. Sadly, President Wilson did not take action against this.
At this point in time, America and Great Britain were the best of trading partners. Germany was not
happy with his arrangement. Germany quickly surrounded Great Britain. Germany sunk and shot
down many of America s ships. On January 8th,1917 Germany had announced that they had sunk
the ship named William P. Frye. The ship was on its way to Great Britain carrying

Biological Differences
1.Why is it so attractive to accept biological explanations concerning differences? Social scientist
find it attractive to accept biological explanation concerning differences because, first biological
explanations have the ring of true science to them: Because their theories are based on objective
scientific facts, the arguments of natural scientists are extraordinary persuasive (Kimmel 20). The
second biological explanations seem to accord with our own observations: Women and men seem
too different to us most of the time (Kimmel 20). For example, women are more emotional
therefore they seem to love chick flicks because of the meanings and actions of love, meanwhile
men are more aggressive so they prefer to watch action movies. Lastly the third biological
explanation would be that there s also a certain conceptual tininess to biological explanations,
because the social arrangements between women and men seem to stem directly and inevitably
from the differences between us (Kimmel 20).
2.What are the three primary arenas of research that are used to explain biological differences
between men and women?
The three primary arenas of research to explain biological differences between men and women are
is the evolutionary theory, brain research, and endocrinological research. The evolutionary
psychology declares an ability to explain psychological differences between women and men
through their evolutionary trajectories (Kimmel 24). Therefore, women and man have not change

Esi 1020 Cold Rolled Steel
1) Of all the sample materials tested during the lab, the AISI 1020 Cold Rolled Steel was found to
be the strongest. Moreover, between the two samples of AISI 1020 Cold Rolled steel, the sample
without the neck was found to be stronger. This was observed by calculating the ultimate tensile
strength for all the samples used during the experiment. As a result, the higher the ultimate tensile
stress the material endured, the stronger the material was. The ultimate tensile stress calculated for
the AISI 1020 Cold Rolled was 563 MPa which was the highest of all. Therefore, concluding that
the AISI 1020 Cold Rolled without a neck region was the strongest material. As for ductility, the
material with most ductility was found to be the thermoplastic polymer (HDPE). Two tests were
conducted on the HDPE samples at different speeds. As a result, the HDPE sample pulled at lower
speed exhibited greater ductility. Ductility was calculated by obtaining the percent elongation of
each material sample. This correlates with the idea that the material that deforms the most before
fracture, possesses greater ductility. The highest percent elongation obtained was 191,... Show more

For example, the cold and hot rolled steel, 1095 steel and the aluminum alloy samples consisted
of metallic bonds while the HDPE samples consisted of covalent bonds. Metallic bonds are
generally good ductility, strength and electrical conductivity1. One specific characteristic of
metallic bonds from other primary atomic bonds is that it joins a bulk of metal atoms together.
Moreover, their valence electrons delocalize and form a sea of electrons by the donation of
valence electrons of its electropositive atoms1. As the experiment confirmed, metallic bonds
attractive forces and the bonding bulk of metal atoms give metals great strength. Moreover, its
malleability and easy break of local bonds also make metallic bonds have good

The Art Nouveau And The Art Movement
An art movement inspired by nature, it s vital force and never changing life cycle of birth, life,
decay and death. The Art Nouveau became fashionable from about 1890 to the first world war.
This aesthetic new art movement was concerned as new, hence it was named as new art the Art
Nouveau. It was also highly influenced by the Japonism, given a major boost in France, Paris
and eventually spread across world. [1] In the late 19th century every artist had a desire to be
considered as a serious diplomatic artist, also to be recognised, respected and well known.
However, an individual needed to commit to the studies of idealised figures and landscapes.
Beyond question, for some artist academic art was considered as a rubbish and they... Show more

Mucha in 1906 (middle); S. Bernhardt (right)
Anna Dvorak (American film actress) says: He succeeded in creating a poster so different from
others on the billboards, both in design and colouring, that from the beginning he was considered
not a follower but equal to the best artists of the period. For the life size figures of his Bernhardt
posters Mucha chose an extremely elongated shape, and in contrast to other poster designers he
used very pale colours whites, beiges, mauves, dull purples, reds and greens, with decorative
touches of gold and silver. His unusual posters were uniquely appropriate to the famous actress of
whom Charles Hiatt wrote that she had the ability to touch even a classical French drama with the
oriental, the strange and the exotic. [6] His attention to detail, colour patterns and fearlessly trying
new techniques, new styles has made him successful and noticed.
The amazing success of this poster led to long term contact with Bernhardt. He produced posters,
costume designs, jewellery and set designs and his fame brought in an enormous number of
commissions. The graphic lines seen in the Art Nouveau were an expression of a new graphic style.
Modern promotional advertising just had a beginning of poster design. Hand lettering styles were
appreciated and created unique styles, forms, but it used to take plenty of time to produce one
poster for adverting, hence it was agreed that some improvements in printing needs to be done.

Too Much Violence and Bullying among Adolescents
Over the years, there has been an increase in the number of youth violence and social/relational
bullying incidents among adolescents. Dresler Hawke and Whitehead (2009, p. 195) define
relational bullying as a form of victimization whereby peer relationships are purposefully
undermined with the intention of socially excluding individuals. Relational bullyingrelates to the
adolescent as this is an indirect form of bullying that has a negative impact on the social
development of this population (Vessey, DiFazio, and Strout, 2013, p. 338). This paper focuses on
the negative impacts that bullying has on an adolescent s social development (isolation, difficulties
within peer relationships, and decreased social status) and the interventions that nurses use to
promote health and wellness on bullied victims.
The importance of developing peer relationships is crucial to adolescent development.
Adolescents growing up in a safe and healthy environment among their peers helps foster a
positive growth, development, and well being (Dresler Hawke et. al., 2009, p. 196). Barbara
Jones Warren (2011, p. 22) states that a primary goal of bullying is to socially exclude or isolate
individuals from others with a school or workplace setting. Relational bullying has a negative
impact as adolescents become socially withdrawn from their peers and experience feelings of
loneliness and rejection. As a result, this impacts their academic performance and attendance,
causing them to withdraw from

Minority Groups In The Last Stand
In the series X Men, it is apparent that there a lot of social issues that could be comparable to the
history, and even current realities, of minority groups in America. A main issue in every X Men
movie, which is especially noticeable in The Last Stand, is the negative attitudes and persecutions
from the humans, that the mutants have to live with on a daily basis. In many ways this is similar
to the negative stereotypes and prejudices that people of color, gays, women, and many other
minority groups have dealt with in the past and right now in the present. What differentiates
minority groups, making them an easy target of discrimination, is that they are simply born
different from those in power. It is no more possible to will oneself into

Microsoft OutlookВ® User Manual Critique
The objective of this paper will be to evaluate Microsoft manual for OutlookВ®. According to
Torkzadeh (1988), author of The Quality of User Documentation, User documentation is an
important tool for communications. It enhances the value of an application to the user and in turn,
improves user satisfaction (p. 99). When designing a manual Ganier (2007) suggests in his article,
Comparative User Focused Evaluation of User Guides, the strategy for a user manual should focus
on 3 characteristics: format, structure, and its content. Ganier in his article also includes the criteria
for measuring the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Practicality, the second criteria, as it applies to a user manual or an instruction, is whether or not
the manual or instruction is designed and applicable to actual use. Overall, the manual is useful if
the user is looking for instruction on performing a specific task. The user e manual does a good
job of explaining the various functions of the OutlookВ® application. The tool bar menu items
include navigation buttons which allow the user to easily move the focus of the manual back one
page at a time or by clicking on the home button, to return to the first page.
Simplicity is the lack of complexity, or intricacy, (Merriam Webster s, 2010). The OutlookВ® user
e manual fulfills the definition of simplicity in its ability to reach a diverse target audience, with the
ability to read and understand the content. Both basic and advanced users can utilize the search
function of the manual to find instructions on the topic being searched. Basic tasks, such as
creating an e mail, or tasks for more advanced users, can easily be found in the manual.
The user e manual lacks overall efficiency as it does not give the user the ability to accomplish a
task with ease and speed. The user e manual should allow the user, no matter what their experience
level with the application, to be able to access the information in the most efficient manner. The

Strengths And Weaknesses Of Virtues
Virtues he tells us are like diverse judgments of excellence or admirableness and you cannot
reduce to a single principle explanation of what it is excellent. He makes a comparison X seems
excellent, but why? Because X has characteristics of A, B, and C which are excellent. He goes on
to tell us that he naturally begins to think why are they excellent and what is excellent about them.
He says most people will reflect on this and will come up with different reasons and it can just
keep going on there might not be a stopping point. He talks about each step taking us further from
our explanation why they are good or can even weaken why we think it is excellent. He states that
this process agrees with structural virtues.
He speaks to us that a particular person s moral character is a big discussion of their particular
traits. He says that if we think courage, generosity and justice are virtues and we need to think
about other things that are equal and that is more excellent. He compares courageous with cowardly
and generous with stingy and kind with unjust ways. He tells us that his book involves much
reflection about traits traditionally regarded as virtues.
He explains to us that a person must not only have a number of excellent traits but one must have
them all put together as a whole. He compares a soldier who is fighting for an unjust cause. He is
showing courage by fighting but is fighting for an unjust cause showing virtue. This is why he

Philosophy of Behaviorism
Philosophy of Behaviorism
Tammie Williams
Columbia College
Abstract
For hundreds of years there has been a fascination on how humans behave and how humans learn.
This has been observed and studied by psychologists, educators, and scientists by means of humans
and animals and how they perform in different environments. This fascination is known as
behaviorism. This aspect of behaviorism deals with how a humans or animals respond to a certain
stimuli and how a new behavior is then developed. This paper will address the philosophy of
behaviorism, the great contributors to behaviorism and their aspects of behavioral learning such as
classical conditioning and operant conditioning.

Psychoanalysis is a school of thought that was founded by Sigmund Freud. This theory focuses on
that behavior is influenced by the unconscious mind. Freud felt that the human mind was made up
of three elements which include the id, the ego, and the superego. Eric Erikson, Carl Jung, and
Anna Freud were also psychoanalysis thinkers. Humanistic psychology was developed as a
response to behaviorism and psychoanalysis. Individual free will, self actualization and personal
growth were focused on by humanistic psychology. Carl Rogers and Abraham Maslow were
amongst the major humanistic psychology thinkers. Gestalt psychology is based upon that people
experience things as unified wholes. This approach started in the late 19th century in Austria and
Germany. This approach was a response to molecular approach of structuralism (Cherry, 2005).
Gestalt psychologists felt things must be looked at as a whole rather than breaking the thought
down. They believed that a whole is more than just the sum of its parts. Cognitive psychology is a
school of thought which studies the mental process including how we remember, think, perceive,
and learn. Philosophy, neuroscience, and linguistics are disciplines that are related to this branch of
psychology. The stages of cognitive development theory by Jean Piaget were amongst the most
influential theories from cognitive psychology.

Coors Brewing Company Executive Summary
Subject: Business Strategy
Executive Summary:
Throughout most of its history, the Coors Brewing Company (Coors) has been a regionalized
brewer within the United States, specializing in high quality beer through by virtue of its source
water selection, stringent production standards, and cold filtered brewing approach. As the company
expanded its distribution to new markets within the U.S. in attempt to gain market share, it made a
strategic decision to maintain a majority of its brewing operations at its primary production facility
in Golden, Colorado. This decision was based upon the desire to preserve its core production
strengths through close family control. However, as the company desires to expand its market

been much more had they attempted to enter other states. Besides, Coors made up for the

Coors ability to differentiate its product. For example Coors was brewed using pure Rocky
Mountain spring water. Coors had a great opportunity to serve an underserved geographical
market. Seven of 24 million barrels sold in the region had to be imported from production
facilities outside of the region, and Coors Colorado facility was more central to the area than the
three other closest facilities in Missouri, Texas, and Wisconsin. Coors had the second lowest
production cost per barrel in the industry, in spite of their claim of the most expensive raw material
costs. Their cost advantage stemmed from the industry s highest capacity utilization, economies of
scale through the country s largest brewery, single product focus, and the industry s fastest
packaging lines. Matching their low production cost was the lowest advertising cost relative to the
industry. The mystique that had been built up about Coors and their differentiating, all natural
appeal allowed them to get away with lower advertising costs than average for the industry. Coors

detested companies in the United States. I believe it is more a love hate relationship as long as
numerous people are looking for the lowest price when they consider buying anything and
consequently, many people buy their things at Walmart.
Walmart is a price Maker. Accordingly, they can decide how much they want to pay for a certain

The Broken Head And The Real Friendship
The Broken Head and the Real Friendship The day had been perfect, till I got the call... I awoke
to the smell of light, fluffy pancakes slathered in maple syrup, and greasy, fat bacon, just how I

Our cousins had invited us to go to their lake house at Cedar Creek Lake; we accepted with
enthusiasm because we had never seen it before. Coming right down. I shouted back to my dad.
Hopping out of bed, I pulled on my favorite t shirt and most comfortable shorts, stuffed some
clothes into a small duffel bag, and pounded down the stairs. We left at 11, late as usual. All five
of us squeezed in the silver Volvo, hip to hip, blasting country music as we ventured into the
Dallas suburbs. At 11:35 AM, my phone buzzed and Cammy Davis , my best friend Eliza s
mom, name lit up on the screen. This is odd, Cammy rarely calls me. Shouldn t Eliza call me
instead? Turning down the music, I answered the phone. Hey Cammy! What s up? I asked. Are
you in Dallas? She asked in a panicked voice, but I could hardly hear her because of the
cacophony from the other line. I wondered where she was. Burberry, Eliza s horse, bucked her
off and now Eliza is unconscious, she has been for the last six minutes. I am in an ambulance and

The Effects Of Universal Health Insurance Mandate On The...
This paper reviews the effects of the universal health insurance mandate in the Massachusetts labor
market. Using a difference in differences (DID) model, this study focuses on the co evolution of
insurance coverage and labor markets. One found that under the recent legislation, workers from
firms of varying sizes demonstrate different patterns with regards to obtaining insurance coverage.
While employer sponsored health insuranceis designed to be the primary source of coverage for
Massachusetts residents under reform, two legal loopholes exist in the employer mandate. For mid
sized organizations, the probability of part time employees working without employer provided
insurance has increased.

Similar to Massachusetts insurance reform, the federal Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act
(PPACA) also features insurance exchanges, individual and employer mandates, and expanded
Medicaid coverage. Due to the similarity between the Massachusetts health reform and the
Affordable Care Act, much can be learned from Massachusetts s experience on implementing health
insurance coverage expansions and employer provided universal insurance coverage law. In other
words, this case offers insight into how some businesses and their employees might react to federal
law requirements.
Several studies sought to investigate the effect of the universal health reform and its impact on the
labor market outcomes, such as the unemployment rate and average wage (Buchmueller, 2013;
Kolstad, 2012). However, they failed to take into account the potential legal loopholes in part time
status, employer provided coverage and Medicaid, and the impact of companies size, even though
studies have shown that employer provided regulations are not equally demanding to different
businesses (Gruber, 2004).
The primary purpose of this paper is to determine whether the Massachusetts healthcare reform has,
in fact, improved health insurance coverage. If the reform indeed improved the coverage, which
channels were utilized to accomplish this? In order to better assess this issue, one explored the

Deck The Halls Analysis
Everyone loves the advent of December because it means holiday season, considered to be the
best time of the year for most people. All of the decorations, food, experiences with friends and
family, and especially all of the songs make the time of year different from all the others. One of
the well known Christmassongs since it was written in 1862 by a Welsh composer named Thomas
Oliphant is Deck the Halls . Many variations were created by all different people, Alex G and
Tiffany Alvord s version of Deck the Halls was created in 2014 by a recent duet signed by many

The Gap in Social Classes in Detroit
With Detroit being the most segregated city in the country, the center with the richest business
industries mixed along with the largest minority middle class anywhere, much controversy is
occurring and it is causing many issues to the surrounding metropolitan area. Due to such a large
gap in social classes, status frustration has led to a spike in racial tensions causing more crime.
Because of this Detroithas become a main focus of many local news reports. Many Detroit
residents are becoming upset with the fact that only negative reports have made the front covers
of newspapers giving Detroit a false image. This has been proven true with many television
shows, movies, and video game images. The previously aired show Detroit 1 8 7, an American
crime drama about Detroit s leading homicide unit, was taken off air because it gave a negative
outlook on the Detroit area. The show s producer, David Zabel stated that even though it was
show about crime, there still was an opportunity to give the city positive light because of the
heroic people that do fight for the city s justice. After reading many commentaries on this show,
the conclusion that the people of Detroit say the people of the city are not as mean and violent as
the shows producers make them seem. In 1974, Detroit was given the nickname of Murder City
after more than 700 homicides were committed. Since this is such a sensitive subject for Detroit
citizens, one of the biggest issues with

Constitutional Law Mandates Procedures For Education
Constitutional law mandates procedures for education that can be found in the United States
Constitution and the Texas Constitution of 1876. Constitutional law deals with the fundamental
principles by which the governments exercise its authority; therefore, making it necessary to amend
the constitution as the country s beliefs and values change. Both the U.S. Constitution and Texas
Constitution, demonstrate a parallelism between civil liberties that guarantees personal freedoms
that the government cannot deprive from its citizens without due process.
According to Walsh, Maniotis, Kemerer (2014), the Tenth Amendment of the U. S. Constitution
declares that all powers not delegated to the federal government are reserved to the states (p. 1).
Consistent with the Tenth Amendment, the Texas Constitution, Section I of Article VII, grantees
provisions for the support and maintenance of an efficient system of free public schools (Walsh et
al., 2014).
United States Constitution
The United States Constitution upholds the Federal civil rights laws, privileges, and protections of
its citizens. These laws extend to all state education agencies; therefore, supporting education
through the allocation of funds and research. The First and Fourteenth Amendments address the
fundamental principles of equality, citizenship, and civil rights, thus featuring most of the Supreme
Court decisions that have impacted education directly (Debray Pelt, E. McGuinn, P. 2009).

but there are number of photographers who are still shooting with film or there are some who are

Digital photography, respectively.
ADVANTAGES OF DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY

not patient and want instant satisfaction, film photography is not for you. But if you love the
anticipation of developing a roll of film to see the results, watching a photograph develop on paper

robotic motions of a computer, then film photography is perfect for you. It is not like that you are a

Australian Court System Research Paper
Is our NSW court system effective? It is if you have money. Is it something that we can just
adhere to with out ever allowing it to adapt and evolve to meet societies needs? Absolutely not.
Just like humanity, the NSW court system contains protruding faults that are made apparent with
further scrutiny. The court system is something that requires our constant attention and support
to improve and advance. In order for the court system to attain eligibility it relies heavily on 4
fundamental components; affordability, simplicity, fairness and accessibility. For countless
Australians our legal system is lacking on all these fronts. Based on the 2012 survey conducted
by the New South Whales Law and Justice Foundation, it showed that around 1.7 million
Australians can expect to encounter a legal problem each year and 490,000 of those people will
not receive legal advice due to financial reasons or lack of knowledge. The prices for legal
services have increase by 49% in the last 6 years alone. This dramatic inflation of costs within the
justice system leads to increased difficulty within society to be able to afford anything but the most
basic of legal representation. When people who can t afford a lawyer turn to government funded
legal assistance, they find that due to chronic funding shortages, ongoing help is often restricted to
those on only the lowest incomes and even further, is only for a narrow collection of family and
criminal legal... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

some may say is what it is there to do. Conversely, we need it to do more than that, we need it to

Divine Justice In Dante s 5th Canto
Canto 5
In the 5th canto Dante enters the second circle of Hell. Here, Dante places the unchaste lovers. This
shows that Dante was heavily influenced by the puritanical extremism of the Medieval Catholic
Church. The Medieval Catholic Church demonized the feeling of love. It considered the feeling
sexual attraction as something impure, which is why all church bishops had to be virgin. Dante
uses his own character s emotions to show an important philosophical problem about the
immorality of extramarital love that the real Dante Alighieri probably thought about.
This canto is important as it shows a philosophical clash of human emotions with the concept of
Divine Justice. Here we can see that Dante presents himself as someone who is saddened by the
fact that the lovers must suffer so much. Dante Alighieri himself was famous for his love of
Beatrice, a woman he never married. So it is understandable why Dante would pity them, share
their pain and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Melebolge is the 8th circle of hell. It contains corrupt and hypocritical people. In the 29th canto
Dante finds himself surrounded by damned souls who are guilty of simony. Among them is Pope
Nicholas III who mistakes Dante for Pope Boniface VII, signaling that Boniface VII will soon
arrive there as well.
This canto is interesting to historians as this gives us a unique perspective into the political
climate of Florence and the medieval world at that time. Dante grew up as a Florentine Guelf.
He was a politician in the city of Florence. He served as a member of Florentine Signoria. His
political party was the Bianchi faction of Florentine Guelfs. They wanted more liberty for
Florence and less power for the Pope. They were overthrown by the Neri faction of the Guelfs and
the papal politicians. After that Dante was exiled out of Florence by the Neris. This is why it is
obvious that Dante would put Boniface VIII in

Homecoming Should Be Abolished Essay
I feel that homecoming shouldn t be abolished. Abolishing homecoming would be upsetting to
students and former students. The reasons I feel this way is because homecoming could be so
much fun, you also get to know more about your school and learning their traditions of the school.
To begin with, homecoming could be fun for new students and former students. In homecoming
week they do something called spirit week. In spirit they allow you to dress up and show your
school spirit. They have a homecoming football game which is so fun because you have people
coming out to support your school. They also all teachers to show their spirit and dress up. They
have students running for homecoming king and queen, which is competitive to see who will
take over the crown. A lot of people run, but some lose. It is still fun to run because at least they
tried. If they take homecoming away it would be boring to students because there s not going to
be a football game to attend. The football game is mostly where the fun is. Homecoming could
never get old so it s going to be impossible to take that away from ICN high school. Our school is

Similarities Between Blood Diamond And The Constant Gardener
The films Blood Diamond and The Constant Gardener both represent the relatively recent shift of
modern film making towards depicting Africa centric story lines in order to spread awareness of
issues such as corruption and exploitation to American and European audiences. However, the
portrayal of Africa in these two movies in particular, should be carefully considered, as these
movies may present the more stereotypical Africarather than the truth.
A good example of the stereotypical representation of Africans is Solomon Vandi from Blood
Diamond. Throughout the movie, he is portrayed as the know nothing black man that has a good
goal, which is that of trying to find and rescue his son, but has no idea how to function outside his
little rural village. Danny Archer, on the other hand, is... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

of dry, sandy plane. Here Archer realises he belongs, and to the viewer, this realisation is
emphasised by the use of continuous back and forth cuts between where Archer lies and where
Maddy sits, as Maddy s surroundings are starkly different. Although Maddy is still in Africa, she
is shown in a city so modern it is given the same grey scale that is attributed to Western cities. The
stark contrast in colour therefore makes the viewer realise the contrast between the two views of
Africa, and serves as a meaningful conclusion to Archer s on going battle to get out of rural

St. John the Baptist Preaching by Mattia Preti
Times of religious upheaval and need for urbanization following the Renaissance gave rise to the
production of lavish artworks during the Baroque era in Italy. Characterized by intense emotion and
dynamism, Baroque art reflected the power of Roman antiquity but typified the renewed piety of
Roman Catholics. The opulent urbanization projects patronized by the church culminated in the
verisimilitude of Baroquepaintings. One painting that reflects such change is Saint John the
Baptist Preaching by Mattia Preti, also known as Il Calabrese. Preti was born in 1613 in Taverna,
Calabria to a modest family with ecclesiastical connections. Preti was well traveled around Italy
and was exposed to artworks from the likes of Correggio, Mantegna, and... Show more content on

His pointing hand reminds the audience of the reward waiting in heaven and the salvation the
church promises with continued commitment to the Catholic doctrine.
Aside from linear perspective, Calabrese incorporates other geometrical forms throughout the
composition. One is the circle at the foreground of the painting, which Calabrese offers the
audience to complete. More outstanding is the triangle that occupies the majority of the space.
John s body, parallel to his staff, begs the viewer to trace the triangle from his eyes, across the
woman and the lamb in the foreground, up the staff, and through to his hand. This triangle is
significant in its symbolism of the Holy Trinity: God the Father, God the Holy Spirit, and God the
Son. The message here is clear; through Jesus, the lamb, one will be saved. It is also interesting that
Calabrese places John between the lamb and his hand. It coincides with the paintings function as an
altar piece in that John serves as an intercessor to the Divine. Through him, one has access to Jesus,
and therefore God. The geometrical lines and shapes add to the painting s dynamism and contribute
to the optimistic promise the painting conveys.
Stylistically, his painting is an example of the smooth manner, characterized by fine technique in
the portrayal of illusionistic form. In this painting, Calabrese uses strong directional lighting from
the top, left corner of the painting to highlight the scene. It is Caravagesque in the way

Research Paper On Wigs
History shows Egyptians wearing wigs, but those of means had human hair sewn into their own
hair. Powdered wigs graced royal heads during the (), and the elaborate hairstyles of the Victorian,
Edwardian and the Gilded Age were artistic creations that were impossible without hair pieces. For
every era there are elaborate techniques for adding hairwhere needed or desired and as styles repeat
themselves, ancient hair weaving techniques have returned as today s hair extensions. Millions of
women will spend time and money on chemical curls, permanent relaxers and dyes to hide age or
draw attention. While these maneuvers change the hair s appearance, they do not change the one
thing that many men watch for, the length.
Wigs give their wearers immediate gratification, but wig caps can be drying, inexpensive synthetic
wigs can look unnatural, and human hair wigs can be too expensive. Add the wear and tear of
having a wig s cap rubbing against the hair and length gained through patience can be lost to
breakage. When modern women consider temporary length, hair extensions are often the answer.
However, choosing high quality, human hair extensions means understanding human hair itself.

Gender And Gender Roles In George Eliot s Middlemarch
The term gender refers to our cultural programing as feminine or masculine, which are
categories created by society rather than by nature. Gender roles define the appropriate social
and behavioral norms adopted by men and women in a social setting. Gender roles reinforce the
notion that housework is women s work and mechanical/technical jobs are men s work. George
Eliot, born Mary Ann Evans, is considered one of the most creative writers of her time. At the
height of her career, Eliot was also generally regarded as the greatest living English novelist.
George Eliot s sixth novel, Middlemarch, depicts strong characters and the unconventional gender
roles of men and women and their marriages during the 19th century.
In 19th century England there was a great deal of social change and disorder. During this time
period, societal norms were being questioned as many people began calling for equality. In turn,
women s rights become a major issue in England. Before this call for gender equality, women had
been expected to marry men of equal social standing. Men were considered the heads of the
household providing for their families while women were expected to fulfill three main roles:
obeying and satisfying one s husband, keeping one s children physically and morally sound, and
maintaining the household. Author of Gender Politics and Women s Rights, Schor M. Hilary,
wrote during the 19th century, women were expected to center their lives on home and family and

The Stages Of Young Adulthood
INTRODUCTION
Young adulthood is a time of life when a person has just entered adulthood from adolescence.
During young adulthood one is less mature or one can say they are just like the adolescents but
little more mature and their body has fully developed as compared to adolescents. There are many
ups and down in young adulthood
In young adulthood we begin to share ourselves more closely acquainted with others. We delve into
relationships leading towards a longer term commitments with someone other than our family

commitment, safety, and care within a relationship. If an individual avoids intimacy, fearing
commitment and relationships it can lead to isolation, loneliness, and sometimes depression.
Success in young adulthood will lead to the virtue of love.

Premarital sex
Premarital sex is defined as a sexual intercourse that can be penile vaginal, penile anal, penile mouth
that takes place between couples before they are married.
Premarital relationships are incomplete fulfillments and a phase of the development towards mature
sexuality. There are numerous people among whom premarital sex is very rare. In many societies
male and female individuals are strictly kept apart. But at the same time among many other
societies the unmarried boys and girls have sexual intercourse; they indulge in sexual activity with
or without the information from the family members. Therefore we find premarital sex as an
extensive form of sexual relationship among young

Context_______________________ Mabuhay Company Incorporated owns 50 grocery outlets
scattered around the metro but has only one main warehouse where all the goods are stored prior
to delivery. The current inventory policy of the company had been practiced for the past 15 years.
It mandates the monthly reorder of stocks by the main warehouse, and charging the branches with

Based on the two values computed, total holding costs will increase by Php52,353 if safety
stock is purchased. Recommendation___________________ 1. We recommend that an average of
251 units of Product A must be ordered from their suppliers. The safety stock of 68 units was
added to serve as a backup inventory in case the demand for Product A exceeds the expected. 2.
Regarding the Product B, 3. Safety stocks are essential to inventory management as they
minimize and avoid stock out and ordering costs. Mr. Paul Ocampo would be able to save on
inventory costs buying inventory for a cheaper price now than for a higher price later when the
peso depreciates further. However, careful weighing of the costs and benefits of this policy is
necessary given that holding costs for three months worth of safety stocks would increase total
holdings costs by

Economic Inequality, Inequality And Inequality
According to the OECD, the term inequality in the opposite of equity can be defined as evenness or
fairness within the social, political, and economic perspectives. Equity forms the core value of both
the western democratic tradition and religions. From the concept of equality, inequality can be
described as unfair or uneven treatments of the people within the society or unequal distribution of
resources, income, and other factors between different sectors in the society. Inequality can be
defined as the unfair or uneven conditions within the society, where some people control more
wealth, money, opportunities, income, as well as political favoritism than others (Stiglitz, 2013).
For some reasons, economists have included economic background of the people in the society as
another form of equality. Inequality comes in different forms: The different types of inequalities are
political inequality, inequality of outcome, economic inequality, Social inequality, and inequality of
opportunity (Clark 2015).
First, political inequality can be defined using either distributional or interdependency approaches.
With respect to distributional approach, political inequality is defined as structured differences
within the society in the acquisition and distribution of political resources. On the other hand,
interdependency approach defines this type of inequality as the influences that a person or persons
have on government legislation as compared to others (Stiglitz,

Voldemort s Use Of The Metaphor In Harry Potter
Chamber of Secrets is a metaphor itself. The entrance is in the girls bathroom and through a long,
dark, wet tunnel under the school. Harry emerges with Ginny after Fawkes tears. Harry descends
into the underworld of the basement caverns beneath Hogwarts School. The process of reemerging
from the chamber is easily a metaphor rebirth. By his wounds we are healed. (Isaiah 53 5.)
The Third, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Harry hears his mother s screams and he
meets his godfather Sirius Black. Harry is incarnated in a fashion after then introduction of the

Car Wreck Research Paper
Whenever I see a car wreck, I recall my wreck several years ago that could have very easily cost me
my life. Living through that experience has helped me to value every day more than before and
may also be the reason I always feel the need to stop and help those on the roadside. Years later I
can see that my familys car wreck was a unique event in my life that changed my perception of life.
I can still hear the quiet dripping of rain when I awoke on the morning before the accident. The
sun was barely breaking through my window s blinds with a yellow and gold glow when I
opened my eyes. Glancing at the clock, I saw that it was 8am, and my family was going to a
church service as was their usual routine. After dragging myself out of bed and dressing the part, I
headed to the kitchen to eat. Steaming stacks of chocolate chip pancakes drizzled with hot maple
syrup awaited me.
After I had finished eating, I dozed off in the car as I waited for my parents and brother. While I
had not stayed up too late to read the night before, I have never been a morning person, so my
mind was still foggy when my family entered the car. As we left home, my parents had started
arguing about something which held nothing but the promise of a trying day. As we neared the
interstate, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

passed over the crest of the hill and down towards a left curve, our tires lost traction, and the road

tires touched the gravel on the roadside, and our car spun down into the bowl like median with
thick trees in our path. The car spun three times, then shuddered as the side was crumpled in by a
large pine. The window to my right imploded as crystalline stars filled my vision and the world

Essay About Teenagers
I believe the children are the future are the words of the late Whitney Houston which many
heard while growing up. Teens are changing rapidly as a result of changes in society and other
changes. Few people want to speak to teens, but cannot do so anymore because most if not all
the teenagers think they are grown. The people the teens associate themselves with or even
spend time with is one the main reasons why they have been changing. Their friends contribute
greatly in the decision making aspect of their lives; they manage to do this in numerous ways.
The teens are now becoming reckless as they believe their friends are always right. This results in
them being out of control where parents and teachers are unable to steer them in the right path or
even talk to the teens. Teenagers are being involved in sexual activities and as a result, it has an
impact on their social behavior, their risk of STD s and the risk of pregnancy. Some of these teens
are very innocent but they love to follow their friends. Teenagers back in the days would be
solely focused on their school work and house work if they had any. Nowadays, it is much
different. As mentioned before, society has changed, and it has not changed for the best but the
worst. Teens would never talk back to their parents at a particular point in time, unfortunately,
that is what is trending now. How is it possible to disrespect the elders? Does that even make
sense? No, it does not, but the activities that they are indulging in are causing these actions. Teens
are sexually active as they are left loose and with no guidance as these parents are afraid to speak
to their children. Any teenager would be, not knowing what the outcome would be. It can be
noticed when these teens are involved in sexual activities as their manners, morals and self
esteem are gone. Little good morning is said, but only when they feel like it or if they think it is
necessary. Parents, teachers and some friends cannot even have a conversation with them as they
are ignorant and behave rambunctiously when spoken to. These activities allow teenagers to be
bold in the wrong way. Going to school with bite marks on them just to prove a point to their
friends is one of the ways in which this

The Theory Of Classical Conditioning
Classical conditioning is based on an association between two stimuli and implies that we as
organisms are rather passive in the learning process. Operant conditioning is based on a response
and stimuli (i.e., consequences) that follow that response. Operant implies that organisms operate
on the environment to produce consequences we anticipate based on previous active learning.
Classical conditioning, the association between two stimuli is easily demonstrated in the media.
For example, advertising professionals know that they have to pair their products with something
that will trigger something in the audience. By pairing their products with something that makes
people either happy, excited, or even hungry. They know that people will want to purchase their
products. Coca Cola has been pairing their products with Christmas for years. Christmas naturally
makes most people happy and excited for the holiday season. During the Coca Cola Christmas
commercial for 2010, it starts with Santa running through a parking lot. As it continues hundreds
of red semi trucks covered in white lights appear. Through the trees you catch a glimpse of the
Coca Cola label and Santa sitting in a chair drinking a coke. While Christmas music plays children
run to line the road to watch the trucks pass. As the commercial continues the music gets louder and
more lights start to light up with trees. The commercial then flashes to a father reading a Christmas
story to his son while sharing

Wind Turbines
A wind turbine is a machine for converting the kinetic energy in wind into mechanical energy . (1)
The inventor of the first electric wind turbine was Clevelander Charles Brush, who ran his entire
Euclid Avenue mansion off of one for 20 years, which later made the cover of Scientific American
in 1888. (2) Although the use of alternate energy didn t rise a great deal afterwards, this event did
open the eyes for many environmentalists. Wind poweris only one of our several energy source[s]
whose fuel is free and will never be exhausted (3) with the pros and cons not completely weighed
out as to whether it will be truly beneficial or not. The two main issues regarding wind turbines are

The integration process would be slow until there was more emphasis on its use in society. It will
be true with wind turbines as well; more transmission lines will be needed to make them more
appealing for the general public and businesses.
Another problem with building wind turbines is that you are placed on a waiting list in order to
be able to build one and waiting lists now fall somewhere in the vicinity of a year and a half to
two years . (10) The wait may not be too long considering the benefits that they can provide, but
then building one becomes an even more difficult issue because there is the necessity of one of
only six cranes in the country that are capable of hoisting the turbine s pieces into place . (11) The
construction also takes months and even years, if you are planning a wind farm. After all this work,
some people would question whether or not it was worth it. The British Wind Energy Association
states that it is cheaper to save electricity than to generate it, by whatever method , (12) but since
people don t take actions to reduce their electricity use, another method has to be put into place. On
average, MN residents use 7 blocks of electricity/month. This premium of 1Вў/kWh compares to the
price of under 10Вў/kWh for non wind power. Each year, every block of wind power purchased
will have the same environmental benefit of planting ВЅ acre of trees or not driving a car 2400

Benefits of Dissection
Dissection, by definition, is the pathological splitting or separation of tissue, according to Webster s
online dictionary. Beneath the simple definition lies an immense amount of controversy. This paper
will provide pros and cons regarding ethics of dissection. Dissection has many benefits. The
experience of dissectionis unforgettable. Things you can actually touch usually stick in your
head better, according to Dr. Damon Scoville. Dissection is an approach to science that creates a
lasting impression. Students gain many things from an experience with dissection. Some of
which include respect for life, and necessary skills for dissection that will be useful later in
higher level classes. The hand s on job really allows the student to gain a visual an
understanding. They learn the true positioning of organs and have the opportunity to feel them
while dissecting. The 3D view and texture friendly experience are things not offered in textbooks
or on screens. (5) Models and paper do not do justice or serve as a sense of discovery. As Mr.
Roger Kassebaum states, If you are going to be a surgeon or a veterinarian, that tactile feedback is
likely important. The procedure for dissection can be complex. With this complexity comes the
opportunity to teach students motor skills, how to follow directions, observation and comparison
skills, and the relationship between tissues and organs. (5) It is pretty evident that the educational
advantages of dissection are great. Mr.

What Are the Arguments for and Against the Idea That the...
The world is ever changing and has been that way even before humans dominated Earth.
However, what we are interested in for this topic is in the last few decades where globalization
has had an impact in the early 21st century, making the world flat . The phrase that the world has
become flat is a metaphor for viewing the world level in terms of commerce and competition,
meaning a level playing field where everyone has an equal opportunity. However, opinions are
divided on how much globalizationhas actually impacted the world as a whole. Critics argue that
Friedman s term flat is grossly exaggerated as his view is from an American perspective. This
paper investigates major arguments for both sides.

Themes Of Madness And The Fuutility Of Life In...
As a group, we decided to select Gary Jules song Mad World which connects to William
Shakespeare s tragedy, King Lear in terms of the themes of madness and the futility of life. In
King Lear, the aspects of loss, suffering, and injustice are experienced by the characters that
seemingly cause a hopeless end. This song will be played at the end of the play after Edgar
speaks, as it essentially summarizes the final outcome of the play. We chose this song because
the lyrics fit precisely with the end of the tragedy, and provides further insights Shakespeare
attempts to reveal to the audience. The tone is also extremely depressing and melancholy, which
effectively provides a connection with Gloucester s unfortunate demise. Effectively, the audience
should be able to attain a sense of the tragic mood at the end of the play. When the fault of an
individual s irrational decision causes unforeseen difficulties, it can cause a sense of bitterness
which can lead to a desire for redemption in aspiration of fulfilling what was lost. In the beginning
of the song, Jules discusses the element of the futility of life. Jules states that people awake Bright
and early for their daily races // Going nowhere, which suggests the idea that individuals have a
tendency to face society lacking any purpose or fulfillment. Likewise, King Learprovides insights
regarding the loss of hope in Gloucester, who exclaims that he does not want to go any further,
when Cordelia s army lost the battle

Carbohydrate Diet Analysis
The second analysis of my diet has allowed me to observe aspects of my diet that can be
improved in order to sustain lifelong benefits and meet dietary recommendations. For
carbohydrates, it is suggested that I consume approximently 130 grams of carbohydrates a day,
however, I averaged approximently 250 grams a day. While I averaged 56% of my calories from
carbohydrates, which is within the acceptable range of 45 65%, the amount I consumed was on
the higher end of the accepted values. Also, it is suggested that Americans consume less than
10% of their calories from added sugars each day. In a 2400 calorie diet, this means less than 240
calories are derived from added sugars. According to my fooddetails report, I consumed less than
240 calories... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Finally, while it is suggested consumers make about half of their grains whole grains, I failed to
consume that much. Rather, each day, my refined grains were atleast double that of my whole
grains. Moving forward, it is essential to ensure that I aim to make more of my carbohydrates
benefiticial to my diet. Consuming carbohydrates from foods such as whole wheat products, like
whole wheat bread, or vegatables, such as sweet potatoes, ensures an adequate amount of
carbohydrates while putting good nutrients into my body. Additionally, because added sugars are
not essntial to the diet, it is important to continue to lower the amount of added sugar consumed
and derive natural sugars from foods like fruits or milk, while eliminating foods high in added
sugars such as cookies or ice cream. While I failed to meet the recommendation of making half of
daily grains whole grains, increasing this can ensure I am meeting this recommendation and
increase the amount of fiber in my diet. By doing this, small changes such as eating whole wheat
bread instead of white bread or eating brown rice instead of white rice can benefit the quality of
grains

Abstract : Due to recent improvement technologies in wireless communication ,there has been a
fastest growth in wireless sensor networks technologies during the past few years. Many different
architectures as well as algorithms and applications have been determined and implemented. The
efficiency of these wireless sensor networks is as much as dependent on routing protocol directly
affecting the network life and in wireless sensor network every sensor has a limited transmission
range of every sensor node to obtain the sensing data. Due to this limitation of wireless sensor
network Clustering of node is most popular techniques preferred in routing operations. In this paper,
cluster based energy efficient clustering technique based on artificial bee colony algorithm and
genetic algorithm is presented to increase the network lifetime. The name of artificial bee colony
algorithm is come from bees cause It has been inspired by collective behavior of Bees as seeking
food. To minimize the energy consumption it is significant to plan a data collection path with
the minimum length to complete the data collection work. So in this paper, we determine that this

Eye and Spine Health Essay
Eye and spine health are a core elements of comfort. They are usually disregarded when people
sit down to use computers, tablets, and smartphones. Many people that have jobs that require
them to sit in front of computers for extended intervals of time do not think about their back and
eye health. Technology has also infiltrated itself into classrooms, which is a large risk because
many students do not consider their back and eye health. Eye health is usually not taken into
account, but it should also be a very large factor in how much time we spend in front of
technology. The health of the eyes and back are a large part of living comfortably. Now that new

There are now more jobs and schools that are focused on electronics and online learning. This
mainly effects the eighteen to twenty nine year old demographic the most (Pew, 2013). They are
also the demographic that have admitted to suffering back pain. The use of technology in this age is
unavoidable. Many people think that back pain is a normal occurrence; however special care
should be take when using technology, and is often ignored, however it can be a sign that there are
more severe, underlying problems. On one hand, I understand that this new generation is being
raised amid a myriad of technological advances, and avoiding them would be very difficult. But on
the other hand, I still insist that we consider how much time we spend in front of these devices. In
other words, limiting the time that we spend in front of computer screens can improve our eye and
spine health. My point is not that computers are the sole source of spine and eye detriment, but that
computers and tablets should be enjoyed with caution. Many people assume that the worst that can
happen from overuse of technology is a little headache and a small amount of back pain. This is
simply not true. My point is that our bodies have been slowly changing to fit our computer usage,
and we are doing this unsuccessfully.
Using technology in the classroom can also be an issue if the proper measures are not taken to
protect the spine health of students. The enjoyment of tablets and computers is very common, and

  • 2. Recommendation Letter For My Superiors At The Company I Work The following paper will establish how I will communicate a request to my superiors at the company I work for. In order for my request to be properly communicated to my superiors I will firstly need to clearly identify the request. Secondly, I will need to analysis my audience. Thirdly, I will need to specify which tactics will be used to influence my audience. Finally, I will write the memo that I plan on submitting to my audience. 1. Request: The industry of construction is an industry where you have to be precise and very accurate. This is why I will be requesting that the superiors in my company purchase a piece of software Chief Architect and revert from using their current software Sketch up . This task will require persuasion because the owners of the company think that using open source software like Sketch up will be sufficient. The company has been using Sketch up for over five years and their thought process is that its free, it works, and there is no need to pay for other software. One of the designers and architects at the firm has tried to ask for this software in the past and the bosses turned the idea down because the software was too expensive. The designer didn t provide any evidence or provided little logic for his argument, which is why he was unsuccessful in influencing the superiors. Influencing them into purchasing is the only option now and everyone in the company acknowledges the need for such software except the superiors. 2. Audience ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. How Your Management Style Stimulates Interpersonal Energy... Your management style stimulates interpersonal energy in the employees within your sphere of influence. The interactions resulting from this energy may fuel the employees drive to accomplish company goals, or they may fuel unproductive or counter productive activities. Such negative results occur when employees desparately attempt to preserve or restore their feelings of safety, self worth, and acceptance in what they perceive to be an unsympathetic environment. Even minimum influence from the manager affects employees; if you never talk to an employee again, you will still influence them by your lack of interest and distance. Two important characteristics that will energize the employee to work with you are acceptance of their perspectives and preferences and open communication of your perspectives and preferences that may be different from but not better than theirs. You can demonstrate your acceptance by expressing the following attitude: I understand your wish to do it that way. I admire your strength in that style. My style tells me the other way is better, but I don t have any hard evidence to support that. How does this sound? Let s work together to make the way you suggested successful, and we ll compare notes about this other way of doing it as we go along. We ll both learn about different ways of doing things from the experience. If you demonstrate that you hold the employees preferences high in regard, and that you trust the wisdom of the ... The definition of globalization is how us people increase interaction with others on a global scale and integrate knowledge and ideas such as culture or economics to other parts of the world. The human race is constantly on the move. It helps get everyone together and in the process exchange information from one place to another. For the past century, the invention of automobiles has been credited for providing one of the greatest options of personal mobility as well as one of the main inventions to substantially shorten the distance of our world. As time goes on and technology becomes more advanced, the globalization of the auto industry assists with manufacturing better cars and making them more accessible around the world. However, the system isn t flawless. Through globalization, the auto industry has a significant effect on economies around the world. Automakers are constantly in a battle between one another, either with a foreign country or in the same region in the global market to produce and sell a better car to earn a profit. Manufacturers compete in various categories from vehicle performance to price and everything in between. The profit earned through the sales of various car models can be invested towards increasing employment ranging from engineers and designers to the workers assembling the vehicles. On the other hand, the boom of the auto industry through globalization has caused a negative effect on the environment. With automobileproduction increases to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. How Did Architecture Influence Roman Architecture Roman architects did not invent the Arch nor for that matter concrete, but they did however refine and apply these key architectural techniques and materials to sublime effect we will explore the impact the use of these two elements had on the development of Roman architecture, how they affected everyday life in Romeand the results of their use. . Some of the earliest evidence of the application of the arch date back to the second millennium BCE, the Romans adopted it from other cultures and were drawn to a number of key attributes of this shape. The resultant aggregate was very strong and durable as the numerous examples of structures constructed using it that exist even into the present age attests. The importance of the use of concrete by the Romans cannot be understated. Concrete allowed Roman engineers to create great commercial structures that would not otherwise have been possible for example the port of Caesarea which employed under water concrete technology on a large scale. In addition to the system of aqueducts, concrete technology allowed Roman engineers to create networks of dams, canals and cisterns that played a vital role in irrigation and feeding Rome s populace. Rome also constructed a number of military installations including walls and strategic garrisons which helped to defend her citizens. The construction of strategic bridges also helped logistically in moving Roman forces across her empire which allowed her to maintain a military dominance that lasted for centuries. Roman concrete also allowed for the creation of grand temples, baths and public buildings that helped maintain social cohesion, supported the political system and influenced the Roman psyche engendering a pride and confidence which no doubt played a vital role in developing the Roman ... • 6. The Visual Representation of a Body Part in Imaging... Imaging technology is the visual representation of a body part, such as an organ, for the purpose of a medical diagnosis. Nowadays, technologies such as X Rays, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and ultrasound are used everyday for medical analysis. X Rays are very useful because they can penetrate through different materials to give an image of the interior of the body. MRI use strong magnets to create an image of a body part, while ultrasound imaging uses sound waves. Bone, muscle and fat absorb x rays at different levels, so the screen lets see different structures of the body because the different levels of exposure are in different shades of gray. The main component of an x ray machine is a vacuum tube with a cathode or filaments and an anode, which is usually made of tungsten, a hard steel gray metal used to make electric light filaments. Electric current passes through the filament, raising its temperature. Once it reaches a certain level of energy, the filament starts emitting negatively charged electrons. These electrons are attracted with great force from the positively tungsten anode, taking them through the vacuum tube at very high speed. In one of the atom s lower orbital an electron gets knocked away when the anode collides with electrons. An electron from the higher orbital takes place of the removed electron, releasing energy as an X ray photon. (HowStuffWorks X Rays) Called bremsstrahlung , the reaction contains x rays of varying wavelengths. The X ray ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Journal of Global Business Management, 8(1), 133 138. Unwanted sexual advances are inappropriate whether or not an individual is at work. This article speaks to the minds of people who have been sexually harassed at work in the 2000s. When written, the article explained that in the last two years sexual harassment in the workplace had actually increased. It also explains the difference between a minor incident that may involve an inappropriate comment and many inappropriate comments that may begin affecting workmanship. Previous articles have stated most of the time sexual harassment is based upon leadership and masculinity, but Cates and Machin state there is no reason behind it. According to the article, there are many types of sexual harassment: verbal/written, physical, nonverbal (inappropriate staring), severe/pervasive (attempted rape). These are split, according to the EEOC (Equal Employment Opportunity Commission) into two factions, quid pro quo and hostile. • 8. Compare And Contrast Safavid And Mughal Empires Safavid and Mughal Empires The decline of the Mongol Empire laid ground for the Ottoman, Safavid, and Mughal empires. These three empires all had military strength, Sovereign Pride, Religious commitment, and Aesthetic sophistication in common to varying degrees. The Safavid and Ottoman empires are usually compared because of the wars that broke out between them and their similar attributes. However, this will be a comparison of the Safavid and Mughal Empires. The Mughal empirewas founded by leader Zahir al Din Muhammad, known as Babur (the tiger) in 1526. When he defeated Ibrahim Lodi, the last of the Afghan Lodi Sultans at the First Battle of Panipat, where they used gunpowder for the first time in India. The Mughal Empire is known as a gunpowder empire. With the help of gunpowder weapons Babur took Delhi in 1526. When Babur died in 1530 he left a loosely knit empire he called Mughal. The word Mughal was the Persian term for Mongol. The Safavid Empire s founder was the Persian mystic Sheikh Safi al Din (1254 1334), after whom the order was named. The Safavid Empire was based in what is today Iran. This Islamic Empire was strong enough to challenge the Ottomans in the west and the Mughals in the east. • 10. Biological Differences 1.Why is it so attractive to accept biological explanations concerning differences? Social scientist find it attractive to accept biological explanation concerning differences because, first biological explanations have the ring of true science to them: Because their theories are based on objective scientific facts, the arguments of natural scientists are extraordinary persuasive (Kimmel 20). The second biological explanations seem to accord with our own observations: Women and men seem too different to us most of the time (Kimmel 20). For example, women are more emotional therefore they seem to love chick flicks because of the meanings and actions of love, meanwhile men are more aggressive so they prefer to watch action movies. Lastly the third biological explanation would be that there s also a certain conceptual tininess to biological explanations, because the social arrangements between women and men seem to stem directly and inevitably from the differences between us (Kimmel 20). 2.What are the three primary arenas of research that are used to explain biological differences between men and women? The three primary arenas of research to explain biological differences between men and women are is the evolutionary theory, brain research, and endocrinological research. The evolutionary psychology declares an ability to explain psychological differences between women and men through their evolutionary trajectories (Kimmel 24). Moreover, between the two samples of AISI 1020 Cold Rolled steel, the sample without the neck was found to be stronger. This was observed by calculating the ultimate tensile strength for all the samples used during the experiment. As a result, the higher the ultimate tensile stress the material endured, the stronger the material was. The ultimate tensile stress calculated for the AISI 1020 Cold Rolled was 563 MPa which was the highest of all. Therefore, concluding that the AISI 1020 Cold Rolled without a neck region was the strongest material. As for ductility, the material with most ductility was found to be the thermoplastic polymer (HDPE). Two tests were conducted on the HDPE samples at different speeds. As a result, the HDPE sample pulled at lower speed exhibited greater ductility. Ductility was calculated by obtaining the percent elongation of each material sample. This correlates with the idea that the material that deforms the most before fracture, possesses greater ductility. The highest percent elongation obtained was 191,... • 13. Too Much Violence and Bullying among Adolescents Over the years, there has been an increase in the number of youth violence and social/relational bullying incidents among adolescents. Dresler Hawke and Whitehead (2009, p. 195) define relational bullying as a form of victimization whereby peer relationships are purposefully undermined with the intention of socially excluding individuals. Relational bullyingrelates to the adolescent as this is an indirect form of bullying that has a negative impact on the social development of this population (Vessey, DiFazio, and Strout, 2013, p. 338). This paper focuses on the negative impacts that bullying has on an adolescent s social development (isolation, difficulties within peer relationships, and decreased social status) and the interventions that nurses use to promote health and wellness on bullied victims. The importance of developing peer relationships is crucial to adolescent development. Adolescents growing up in a safe and healthy environment among their peers helps foster a positive growth, development, and well being (Dresler Hawke et. al., 2009, p. 196). Barbara Jones Warren (2011, p. 22) states that a primary goal of bullying is to socially exclude or isolate individuals from others with a school or workplace setting. Relational bullying has a negative impact as adolescents become socially withdrawn from their peers and experience feelings of loneliness and rejection. The tool bar menu items include navigation buttons which allow the user to easily move the focus of the manual back one page at a time or by clicking on the home button, to return to the first page. Simplicity is the lack of complexity, or intricacy, (Merriam Webster s, 2010). Strengths And Weaknesses Of Virtues Virtues he tells us are like diverse judgments of excellence or admirableness and you cannot reduce to a single principle explanation of what it is excellent. He makes a comparison X seems excellent, but why? Because X has characteristics of A, B, and C which are excellent. He goes on to tell us that he naturally begins to think why are they excellent and what is excellent about them. He says most people will reflect on this and will come up with different reasons and it can just keep going on there might not be a stopping point. He talks about each step taking us further from our explanation why they are good or can even weaken why we think it is excellent. He states that this process agrees with structural virtues. He speaks to us that a particular person s moral character is a big discussion of their particular traits. He says that if we think courage, generosity and justice are virtues and we need to think about other things that are equal and that is more excellent. He compares courageous with cowardly and generous with stingy and kind with unjust ways. He tells us that his book involves much reflection about traits traditionally regarded as virtues. He explains to us that a person must not only have a number of excellent traits but one must have them all put together as a whole. He compares a soldier who is fighting for an unjust cause. Individual free will, self actualization and personal growth were focused on by humanistic psychology. Carl Rogers and Abraham Maslow were amongst the major humanistic psychology thinkers. Gestalt psychology is based upon that people experience things as unified wholes. This approach started in the late 19th century in Austria and Germany. This approach was a response to molecular approach of structuralism (Cherry, 2005). Gestalt psychologists felt things must be looked at as a whole rather than breaking the thought down. They believed that a whole is more than just the sum of its parts. Cognitive psychology is a school of thought which studies the mental process including how we remember, think, perceive, and learn. We have to leave by 10, My dad yelled from the kitchen. Our cousins had invited us to go to their lake house at Cedar Creek Lake; we accepted with enthusiasm because we had never seen it before. Coming right down. I shouted back to my dad. Hopping out of bed, I pulled on my favorite t shirt and most comfortable shorts, stuffed some clothes into a small duffel bag, and pounded down the stairs. We left at 11, late as usual. All five of us squeezed in the silver Volvo, hip to hip, blasting country music as we ventured into the Dallas suburbs. At 11:35 AM, my phone buzzed and Cammy Davis , my best friend Eliza s mom, name lit up on the screen. This is odd, Cammy rarely calls me. Shouldn t Eliza call me instead? Turning down the music, I answered the phone. Hey Cammy! What s up? I asked. Are you in Dallas? She asked in a panicked voice, but I could hardly hear her because of the cacophony from the other line. I wondered where she was. Burberry, Eliza s horse, bucked her off and now Eliza is unconscious, she has been for the last six minutes. I am in an ambulance and we are going down to Presbyterian Hospital, come if you want. Using a difference in differences (DID) model, this study focuses on the co evolution of insurance coverage and labor markets. One found that under the recent legislation, workers from firms of varying sizes demonstrate different patterns with regards to obtaining insurance coverage. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Similar to Massachusetts insurance reform, the federal Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) also features insurance exchanges, individual and employer mandates, and expanded Medicaid coverage. Due to the similarity between the Massachusetts health reform and the Affordable Care Act, much can be learned from Massachusetts s experience on implementing health insurance coverage expansions and employer provided universal insurance coverage law. In other words, this case offers insight into how some businesses and their employees might react to federal law requirements. Several studies sought to investigate the effect of the universal health reform and its impact on the labor market outcomes, such as the unemployment rate and average wage (Buchmueller, 2013; Kolstad, 2012). However, they failed to take into account the potential legal loopholes in part time status, employer provided coverage and Medicaid, and the impact of companies size, even though studies have shown that employer provided regulations are not equally demanding to different businesses (Gruber, 2004). The primary purpose of this paper is to determine whether the Massachusetts healthcare reform has, in fact, improved health insurance coverage. If the reform indeed improved the coverage, which channels were utilized to accomplish this? In order to better assess this issue, one explored the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Constitutional law deals with the fundamental principles by which the governments exercise its authority; therefore, making it necessary to amend the constitution as the country s beliefs and values change. Both the U.S. Constitution and Texas Constitution, demonstrate a parallelism between civil liberties that guarantees personal freedoms that the government cannot deprive from its citizens without due process. Just like humanity, the NSW court system contains protruding faults that are made apparent with further scrutiny. The court system is something that requires our constant attention and support to improve and advance. In order for the court system to attain eligibility it relies heavily on 4 fundamental components; affordability, simplicity, fairness and accessibility. For countless Australians our legal system is lacking on all these fronts. Based on the 2012 survey conducted by the New South Whales Law and Justice Foundation, it showed that around 1.7 million Australians can expect to encounter a legal problem each year and 490,000 of those people will not receive legal advice due to financial reasons or lack of knowledge. The prices for legal services have increase by 49% in the last 6 years alone. This dramatic inflation of costs within the justice system leads to increased difficulty within society to be able to afford anything but the most basic of legal representation. This shows that Dante was heavily influenced by the puritanical extremism of the Medieval Catholic Church. The Medieval Catholic Church demonized the feeling of love. It considered the feeling sexual attraction as something impure, which is why all church bishops had to be virgin. Dante uses his own character s emotions to show an important philosophical problem about the immorality of extramarital love that the real Dante Alighieri probably thought about. This canto is important as it shows a philosophical clash of human emotions with the concept of Divine Justice. Here we can see that Dante presents himself as someone who is saddened by the fact that the lovers must suffer so much. A good example of the stereotypical representation of Africans is Solomon Vandi from Blood Diamond. Characterized by intense emotion and dynamism, Baroque art reflected the power of Roman antiquity but typified the renewed piety of Roman Catholics. The opulent urbanization projects patronized by the church culminated in the verisimilitude of Baroquepaintings. One painting that reflects such change is Saint John the Baptist Preaching by Mattia Preti, also known as Il Calabrese. His pointing hand reminds the audience of the reward waiting in heaven and the salvation the church promises with continued commitment to the Catholic doctrine. Aside from linear perspective, Calabrese incorporates other geometrical forms throughout the composition. One is the circle at the foreground of the painting, which Calabrese offers the audience to complete. More outstanding is the triangle that occupies the majority of the space. John s body, parallel to his staff, begs the viewer to trace the triangle from his eyes, across the woman and the lamb in the foreground, up the staff, and through to his hand. This triangle is significant in its symbolism of the Holy Trinity: God the Father, God the Holy Spirit, and God the Son. The message here is clear; through Jesus, the lamb, one will be saved. It is also interesting that Calabrese places John between the lamb and his hand. It coincides with the paintings function as an altar piece in that John serves as an intercessor to the Divine. Through him, one has access to Jesus, and therefore God. The geometrical lines and shapes add to the painting s dynamism and contribute to the optimistic promise the painting conveys. Powdered wigs graced royal heads during the (), and the elaborate hairstyles of the Victorian, Edwardian and the Gilded Age were artistic creations that were impossible without hair pieces. For every era there are elaborate techniques for adding hairwhere needed or desired and as styles repeat themselves, ancient hair weaving techniques have returned as today s hair extensions. Millions of women will spend time and money on chemical curls, permanent relaxers and dyes to hide age or draw attention. Gender And Gender Roles In George Eliot s Middlemarch The term gender refers to our cultural programing as feminine or masculine, which are categories created by society rather than by nature. Gender roles define the appropriate social and behavioral norms adopted by men and women in a social setting. Gender roles reinforce the notion that housework is women s work and mechanical/technical jobs are men s work. George Eliot, born Mary Ann Evans, is considered one of the most creative writers of her time. At the height of her career, Eliot was also generally regarded as the greatest living English novelist. George Eliot s sixth novel, Middlemarch, depicts strong characters and the unconventional gender roles of men and women and their marriages during the 19th century. In 19th century England there was a great deal of social change and disorder. During this time period, societal norms were being questioned as many people began calling for equality. In turn, women s rights become a major issue in England. Before this call for gender equality, women had been expected to marry men of equal social standing. Men were considered the heads of the household providing for their families while women were expected to fulfill three main roles: obeying and satisfying one s husband, keeping one s children physically and morally sound, and maintaining the household. Author of Gender Politics and Women s Rights, Schor M. Hilary, wrote during the 19th century, women were expected to center their lives on home and family and they were expected ... • 45. Economic Inequality, Inequality And Inequality According to the OECD, the term inequality in the opposite of equity can be defined as evenness or fairness within the social, political, and economic perspectives. Equity forms the core value of both the western democratic tradition and religions. From the concept of equality, inequality can be described as unfair or uneven treatments of the people within the society or unequal distribution of resources, income, and other factors between different sectors in the society. Inequality can be defined as the unfair or uneven conditions within the society, where some people control more wealth, money, opportunities, income, as well as political favoritism than others (Stiglitz, 2013). For some reasons, economists have included economic background of the people in the society as another form of equality. Inequality comes in different forms: The different types of inequalities are political inequality, inequality of outcome, economic inequality, Social inequality, and inequality of opportunity (Clark 2015). First, political inequality can be defined using either distributional or interdependency approaches. With respect to distributional approach, political inequality is defined as structured differences within the society in the acquisition and distribution of political resources. On the other hand, interdependency approach defines this type of inequality as the influences that a person or persons have on government legislation as compared to others (Stiglitz, ... Living through that experience has helped me to value every day more than before and may also be the reason I always feel the need to stop and help those on the roadside. Years later I can see that my familys car wreck was a unique event in my life that changed my perception of life. I can still hear the quiet dripping of rain when I awoke on the morning before the accident. The sun was barely breaking through my window s blinds with a yellow and gold glow when I opened my eyes. Glancing at the clock, I saw that it was 8am, and my family was going to a church service as was their usual routine. After dragging myself out of bed and dressing the part, I headed to the kitchen to eat. Steaming stacks of chocolate chip pancakes drizzled with hot maple syrup awaited me. After I had finished eating, I dozed off in the car as I waited for my parents and brother. While I had not stayed up too late to read the night before, I have never been a morning person, so my mind was still foggy when my family entered the car. • 48. Essay About Teenagers I believe the children are the future are the words of the late Whitney Houston which many heard while growing up. Teens are changing rapidly as a result of changes in society and other changes. Few people want to speak to teens, but cannot do so anymore because most if not all the teenagers think they are grown. The people the teens associate themselves with or even spend time with is one the main reasons why they have been changing. Their friends contribute greatly in the decision making aspect of their lives; they manage to do this in numerous ways. The teens are now becoming reckless as they believe their friends are always right. This results in them being out of control where parents and teachers are unable to steer them in the right path or even talk to the teens. Teenagers are being involved in sexual activities and as a result, it has an impact on their social behavior, their risk of STD s and the risk of pregnancy. Some of these teens are very innocent but they love to follow their friends. Teenagers back in the days would be solely focused on their school work and house work if they had any. Nowadays, it is much different. As mentioned before, society has changed, and it has not changed for the best but the worst. Teens would never talk back to their parents at a particular point in time, unfortunately, that is what is trending now. How is it possible to disrespect the elders? Does that even make sense? No, it does not, but the activities that they are indulging in are causing these actions. Teens are sexually active as they are left loose and with no guidance as these parents are afraid to speak to their children. Any teenager would be, not knowing what the outcome would be. It can be noticed when these teens are involved in sexual activities as their manners, morals and self esteem are gone. Little good morning is said, but only when they feel like it or if they think it is necessary. Parents, teachers and some friends cannot even have a conversation with them as they are ignorant and behave rambunctiously when spoken to. These activities allow teenagers to be bold in the wrong way. Going to school with bite marks on them just to prove a point to their friends is one of the ways in which this ... • 49. The Theory Of Classical Conditioning Classical conditioning is based on an association between two stimuli and implies that we as organisms are rather passive in the learning process. Operant conditioning is based on a response and stimuli (i.e., consequences) that follow that response. Operant implies that organisms operate on the environment to produce consequences we anticipate based on previous active learning. Classical conditioning, the association between two stimuli is easily demonstrated in the media. For example, advertising professionals know that they have to pair their products with something that will trigger something in the audience. By pairing their products with something that makes people either happy, excited, or even hungry. They know that people will want to purchase their products. Coca Cola has been pairing their products with Christmas for years. Christmas naturally makes most people happy and excited for the holiday season. During the Coca Cola Christmas commercial for 2010, it starts with Santa running through a parking lot. As it continues hundreds of red semi trucks covered in white lights appear. Through the trees you catch a glimpse of the Coca Cola label and Santa sitting in a chair drinking a coke. While Christmas music plays children run to line the road to watch the trucks pass. The integration process would be slow until there was more emphasis on its use in society. (10) The wait may not be too long considering the benefits that they can provide, but then building one becomes an even more difficult issue because there is the necessity of one of only six cranes in the country that are capable of hoisting the turbine s pieces into place . (11) The construction also takes months and even years, if you are planning a wind farm. After all this work, some people would question whether or not it was worth it. The British Wind Energy Association states that it is cheaper to save electricity than to generate it, by whatever method , (12) but since people don t take actions to reduce their electricity use, another method has to be put into place. Beneath the simple definition lies an immense amount of controversy. This paper will provide pros and cons regarding ethics of dissection. Dissection has many benefits. The experience of dissectionis unforgettable. Things you can actually touch usually stick in your head better, according to Dr. Damon Scoville. Dissection is an approach to science that creates a lasting impression. Students gain many things from an experience with dissection. Some of which include respect for life, and necessary skills for dissection that will be useful later in higher level classes. The hand s on job really allows the student to gain a visual an understanding. They learn the true positioning of organs and have the opportunity to feel them while dissecting. As a group, we decided to select Gary Jules song Mad World which connects to William Shakespeare s tragedy, King Lear in terms of the themes of madness and the futility of life. In King Lear, the aspects of loss, suffering, and injustice are experienced by the characters that seemingly cause a hopeless end. This song will be played at the end of the play after Edgar speaks, as it essentially summarizes the final outcome of the play. We chose this song because the lyrics fit precisely with the end of the tragedy, and provides further insights Shakespeare attempts to reveal to the audience. The tone is also extremely depressing and melancholy, which effectively provides a connection with Gloucester s unfortunate demise. Effectively, the audience should be able to attain a sense of the tragic mood at the end of the play. When the fault of an individual s irrational decision causes unforeseen difficulties, it can cause a sense of bitterness which can lead to a desire for redemption in aspiration of fulfilling what was lost. In the beginning of the song, Jules discusses the element of the futility of life. Jules states that people awake Bright and early for their daily races // Going nowhere, which suggests the idea that individuals have a tendency to face society lacking any purpose or fulfillment. Likewise, King Learprovides insights regarding the loss of hope in Gloucester, who exclaims that he does not want to go any further, when Cordelia s army lost the battle ...
