This document describes an experiment using cabbage juice to test the pH of different solutions. Cabbage juice contains pigments that change color based on pH, allowing it to indicate if a solution is acidic, basic, or neutral. The experiment identifies 8 common household solutions as acidic, basic, or neutral based on their color when cabbage juice is added. Most soils ideal for plant growth have a pH between 6-7, which is slightly acidic to neutral.
