Writing an essay on the topic of "Business Essays" can present a unique set of challenges. The
difficulty lies not only in the vastness and complexity of the subject matter but also in the need
for a nuanced understanding of various business concepts, theories, and their practical
applications. Crafting a compelling business essay requires extensive research, critical thinking,
and the ability to synthesize information from diverse sources.
Firstly, delving into the realm of business means navigating through a plethora of topics, ranging

has its own intricacies, theories, and evolving trends, making it essential for the writer to have a
comprehensive understanding of the business landscape.
Additionally, staying current with the dynamic nature of the business world is crucial. Economic
conditions, market trends, and technological advancements can rapidly influence business
practices. An effective business essay must reflect this dynamism, requiring the writer to

2. Stereotypes Of Tv Research Paper
Television heavily relies upon stereotypes to provide a somewhat distorted and
glamorized picture of a variety of occupations, with emphasis on those in the
healthcare and legal fields; as a result, the real responsibilities of individuals in these
occupations can be seriously misconstrued by television viewers and leave them with
unrealistic expectations of what certain occupations actually entail. Although many
televisionviewers are drawn to the legal field as a result of television s depictions of
well dressed, glamorous lawyers who consistently dine out at fancy restaurants and
win all of their cases in a record amount of time, as seen in shows like Suits, the real
legal world consists of much more paperwork and routine tasks than is... Show more

For example, in the popular series House M.D., Gregory House becomes addicted
to opiates and remains employed, with a large variety of duties in the hospital
where he works, despite his increasingly erratic behavior towards his patients. In
reality, such behavior would not be tolerated as lightly as it is on screen. Another
example of inaccuracy in terms of how certain behavior would be tolerated in a
residency program is in season 1 of Grey s Anatomy when Izzie intentionally
worsens her patient and love interest Denny s condition in the hopes of getting him
moved up on the heart transplant list. She is allowed to stay in the program
despite breaching more than one very serious medical rule; in reality, though, it is
likely that such behavior would have much harsher consequences, but for the
purposes of the show, these same rules do not seem to apply. Another aspect of the
medical profession that appears to be largely dramatized is that of specialization.
Doctors on television seem to specialize to all fields, whereas real life doctors take
many years of gaining experience in order to specialize in one area. An example of
such a disparity between television and reality can be seen in House M.D., when
House single handedly performs multiple operations on the same patient, including
a brain biopsy and a gastroscopy. My aunt, who is a breast surgeon, spent many
years completing her residency before finally deciding to specialize in the treatment
of breast cancer and other breast related issues. When I was young and still
considering becoming a doctor, she would constantly remind me, It s nothing like
Grey s Anatomy! Grey s Anatomy is another example of a television show that seems
to distort things in the medical profession. For example, many of the characters on
the show, including Meredith Grey and Dr. Derek Shepherd, also referred to as
3. Examples Of Self Preservation In Rashomon
In Akira Kurosawa s Japanese murder mystery film, Rashomon, Akira tells the
story of a slaughtered samurai. The story of the murder is revealed four times to a
judge, each by a different person who witnessed the crime. Each of the stories
contradicts the previous. Each of the stories has a constant of rape, murder, and the
use of a dagger as the murder weapon, but each story depicts differing methods and
motives. The stories seem equally plausible and the film does not disclose which of
the characters is telling the truth. Each of the characters has their own agenda and a
reputation to protect. In this case, all four stories were fabricated to protect the
characters reputations. Especially in the era where this film takes place, reputation

He claims to have tricked the samurai to step off the mountain trail with him and
look at an arsenal of ancient swords he had found. He then ties the samurai to the tree
and returns to capture the samurai s wife, giving the impression that Tajomaru is sly
and shrewd. In Tajomaru s version of the story, he entices the womanmaking it seem
as if the woman falls in love with him. This however, is contradicted by the other
stories where it is said that Tajomaru forced himself onto the woman. Out of honor
and respect, Tajomaru frees the samurai and they begin to duel for the woman s
love. Tajomaru tells of a valorous and honorable sword battle that ensued between
the two, whereas the story of the woodcutter states that the duel was clumsy and
that Tajomaru took a cheap shot at the samurai, which ultimately ended his life. He
tells this embellished, spectacular story of a damsel in distress, how he is to rescue
her and they are to marry and live happily ever after together, to disguise his
weakness of being repulsive and a

Online Affiliate Marketing is a revenue sharing venture between a website owner and

7. Marginalia Billy Collins Summary
In the poem Marginalia , by Billy Collins takes a look at the marginal notes written
in books. The marginal notes are seen as a communication between the reader and
the words in the book. The note sometimes can be negative because they are a way
of releasing frustration with the work, especially if not well received, but sometimes
they are a way of celebrating on the work. [The narrator asserts students to join the
conversation with author s words by writingmarginal notes; however, one may say it
proves to be a distraction, It causes readers to pre judge a book and lastly, it prevents
one from understanding the text.]
Marginal notes can be viewed as distractions to new owners of passing down texts.
They are, Sometimes the notes are ferocious, (Collins) when the narrator refers to
ferocious, This implies that the previous owner wrote comments in discontent. When
the notes symbolize discontent they prove to be a distraction because people instead
of focusing on the text will start reading the comments therefore getting disoriented
and not focusing the text. When he refers , If i could just get my hands on you,
Kierkegaard or Conor Cruise O Brien this implies he could be doing something better
than reading their works. It also means, as the new reader sees the text may see their
writings on the margin and wonder why the previous owner wrote that and may get
lost or impede him from understanding and acknowledging the text and interpret the
text from the actual meaning.

Finally, we came up with the idea that the members of sons of liberty should dump

Boston Port Act. I think that this made the colonists even more mad that they don t
want to obey the British and the British king s rules. But I also think that the British
will be mad because the colonists won t obey the rules that the king made so I

Lincoln s changing environmental demands. In particular, during Willis s tenure,
Lincoln did not even practice organizational maintenance: By 1992, nearly all of the

Since, is an undersized percentage that does not mean that all the children who are

what is going on.
Children are really active, and they like to act before they think. Children that have
the disorder can confront with some trouble with reading, writing, and interact with
other people. Zieman States that, People with ADHD have several small
differences in the brain. These differences are in the front part of the brain (an area
involved in self control) and in some parts in the center of the brain (Zieman).
Zieman looks at ADHD in a physiological way. It implies that the damage that is
causing the child to act that way is a small problem that is in front of the brain. The
front of the brain controls the person s way of thinking, acting, and behaving. This
concludes that the child does have a physical problem.
Now that the facts have been reveal, it is time to understand the symptoms and the
types of ADHD of the child. According to Nazario, Combine ADHD, Inattentive
ADHD, and Hyper Impulsive ADHD are the 3 types of ADHD (Nazario). Combine
ADHD involves all of the symptoms. Inattentive ADHD is marked by impaired
attention and concentration. Finally Hyper Impulsive ADHD is marked by

12. Tim Burton Film Techniques Essay
Tim Burton s films are strange and wonderful with his medium shots, eye level
angles, and front or back lighting. His films have great depth of meaning and he
always seems to get the audience s attention with his techniques. In some of his
movies like Edward Scissorhands and Beetlejuice he used many different
techniques to demonstrate sinister moods and tones. The tones of his movies are
usually always dark because of his childhood experiences and past. Tim Burton
creates something so odd and turns it into a work of art. The purpose of medium
shots is for capturing the medium distance between the camera and the objects or
characters being filmed, it s used to express the main story of what s occurring. For
example, in his movie Edward Scissorhands, Tim Burton filmed a medium shot of
when Edward watched the water bed slush around before he put a hole in the
mattress. The medium shot makes the scene funny and odd to watch; considering the
scene is Edward moving along, watching the bed, then him poking a hole on accident

The technique allows the audience to become apart of the movie, in a way the angle

might be seeing from their view point. For example, in Charlie in The Chocolate

were just beginning to meet Willy Wonka, before they were invited inside his
factory. The scene was shot from the character s eye level looking up at Willy Wonka
and listening to him speak about welcoming them to his factory, although he was
reading off of note cards and just showed them singing, dancing, mechanical puppets

A.i) A mixture is defined as a combination of two or more substances that are not
chemically combined. A mixture that has a uniform composition and uniform
properties throughout it is known as a homogeneous mixture. One example of a
homogeneous mixture is air. Air is a homogeneous mixture of gases. Another
example of a homogeneous mixture can be seen when you mix a spoonful of table
salt or sugar into a glass of water because either the sugar or salt dissolves. If you
were to mix dirt or sand and water, a heterogeneous mixture will be formed, not a
homogeneous one. (Stewart 2014) A heterogeneous mixture is made up of a non
uniform composition. At least two components of a heterogeneous mixture must
have clear distinctive differences. For example, if you were to examine a
heterogeneous mixture sample, you would be able to see the separate components.
Ice cubes in soda form a heterogeneous mixture because there is a clear distinction
between the soda and the ice cubes. (Helmenstine) A compound is formed when two
or more chemical elements are chemically bound together. A mixture does not
involve a chemical reaction to occur but in order to form a compound, one must
occur. Two types of chemical bonds are ionic bonds and covalent bonds. Water,
hydrogen and oxygen, is an example of a compound. (Stewart 2014)

The hypotheses presented by Alexandra Rosati is backed up by data gathered by
her team at Harvard University. The cognitive skills of our ancestors, that being
chimpanzees and bonobos, were investigated through series of experiments,
primarily on how they think about the future. The results show that bonobos are the
least patient, unable to wait longer periods of time for a larger award. In contrast,
humans, even more than chimpanzees, had the largest amount of patience, being
able to endure longer periods of wait time for a larger reward. More significantly,
one of the very few things that set us apart from our counterparts cooking is not so
exclusive. Although chimpanzees cannot cook food on their own, the study shows
that chimpanzees have an understanding of what cooking is. Also, chimpanzees
have the cognitive skills necessary to prefer the cooked food when given the chance.
Due to the competitive nature of chimpanzees, however, it is proposed that it is
impossible for chimpanzees to have developed the social skills necessary to cook....

problems, is indeed rooted in our ancestors. Although there may have been a few
confounding variables within the experiments conducted by Alexandra Rosati and
her team, the results were

As election day rises, so does significant questions surrounding the Electoral College
system. Mainly the subject of whether or not to disband the system will again be a
hot topic amongst voters and legislatures. The question that remains in the minds of
the everyday voter is if their vote actually counts toward appointing a President when
a system such as the Electoral Collegeis in place. Nevertheless, before forming an
opinion on the matter it is important that one consider what the Electoral College
actually is and how it functions, furthermore understanding why the framers of the
Constitution thought it necessary to create this system. To properly form an
opinion, avenues of critics and supporters must both be explored. Only through this
considerable amount of information gathered can you take a stance on the topic.
Rooted in Article II section I of the constitution, the electoral college is a system

college are 435 House of representative members 100 senators along with 3 electors

number of electoral votes a state has varies based on population and the
representation the State has in Congress. Appointed Electors are voted into the

16. God s Divine Omniscience
Boethius way of understanding Gods divine omniscience came from his dilemma
of whether or not it denied him of free will. He knew that God s divine
omniscience was necessary for it is within Gods very definition that it must exist.
However, if it is true that God knows everything that has, and ever will happen then
where does that leave room for free will? To answer this Boethius describes: first,
what Gods knowledge is and how it doesn t imply necessity, second, how it is ok that
we don t fully understand God, and third, the nature of eternity and what it means to
his omniscience.
Gods knowledge is not predictive but is intelligible; what is known is known with
absolute certainty. Predictions involve the weighing of what is likely and what ...

Sense perception is the lowest sense that to which almost all animals have. Sense
perception is only the awareness of bodily senses. Imagination is higher in that it
does not depend on physical objects. Reason is even higher because it allows you to
understand universal law through inference and analogy. The highest sense is pure
intelligence, that of which only God has. Pure intelligence understands the workings
of the universe without the use of inference or analogy, it can grasp meaning through
simple thought. God is the only one with pure intelligence. Senses higher up on the
list can understand everything below them but those below can never understand
those above. So Boethius derives from this that we can try to understand Gods
omniscience the best we can, but we will never understand it like he does. So the
nature of Gods omniscience can only be truly understood by the sense of true
intelligence that let it exist.
Gods eternity, Boethius describes, gives key to the nature of his omniscience.
Gods knowledge transcends change. He does not experience past present and
future as humans do but instead experiences all of time, all at once in one single
grasp. God exists outside of time. He is current witness to everything that has and
ever will happen. If God is witness to all time then it is not necessary that he be the
cause of our actions, but because the bi product of our actions our currently being

most. In this work, there is contrast and repetition in colors. Color changed as it has

part in this design because the geometric shapes repeated more than once.
Furthermore, there is also contrast in the size of the type and triangles. For

18. Comparison Of Minnelli And Jacques Demy s Les
Demoiselles...
Jacques Demy s Les Demoiselles de Rochefort is a whirlwind of color, light, joy,
design, and music. It s a visual tour de force, a treat for the eyes. It s also similar, in
many respects, to the work of Vincente Minnelli. Minnelli, especially with his
musicals, carefully designed every little detail. For him, the mise en scene was
paramount, so much so that character development would be expressed through the
scenery. For example, Gene Kelly literally brings color wherever he goes in
American in Paris. In Minnelli s world, the worst thing a character can do is bring
ugliness. Beauty was key. But that s not to say that Minnelli s films were light and
fluffy. Even his airier films, like The Pirate, had tonal complexity. Demy s musical
world is also highly stylized and designed. Everything looks extremely artificial
and character joy matches their outfits. But it s not completely the same to
Minnelli s world. For one, this musical is very happy. Cares and worries are taken
away through musical numbers. Characters have a formal idea of the perfect man
or woman. But Demy still manages to achieve tonal complexity, just in a slightly
weirder way. Compare Rochefort to American in Paris. Both films are stunningly
beautiful. American in Paris plot is very light, allowing the relationship between
Gene Kelly and Leslie Caron to be explored. The plot s also kept light to make room
for the extended ballet sequence at the end. However, compared to Rochefort, the plot

from boy to man through his personal and visceral connection to the Blackfoot.
Norman s writing encapsulates his own coming of age through the symbolism and
parallels he draws between himself and the river. In contrast, Robert Redford s movie
adaptation focuses directly on the interpersonal relationships Norman develops
throughout his life and how those relationships shape his character and choices.
Although Redford... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In saying he knows how the river was made, Norman demonstrates his own self
awareness and understanding of himself. He knows who he is because his life and
memories are the river. Building on the theme of identity, Maclean writes
extensively on the geological history of the river. He explains the formation of it
through glacial movement, its deposition patterns, and exact meander pattern, as
well as the location and types of fishing pools (73). Making the geology a cynosure
of his work again demonstrates Norman s dedication to understanding the historical
elements that formed its identity. Then, extrapolating this to himself, he reinforces
the idea that having a deep understanding of the river s formation allows him to
better understand his own. Maclean also explains his family dynamic through the
symbolism of fly fishing on the river. He is haunted by waters, (119) because they
contain the memories and words of everyone Maclean has ever connected with and
interacted with he even refers to it as my family s river (76). Which illustrates
Maclean s deep connection to the river as he would be unable to comprehend the
meaning of his own life without it. The deepest familial moments, such as Norman
offering Paul help, discussing life plans, or Norman finding common ground with his
father, all occur while fishing on the Blackfoot. Whenever he is at the river, he cannot
escape thinking about his
20. Dynamic Character In A Rose For Emily
William Faulkner writes A Rose for Emily , which is a tale about the peculiar events
in a small town in Mississippi. The protagonist, Emily Grierson, is an eccentric lady
that encounters tragedies throughout her life. Unexpectedly, she meets Homer Barron
whom she considers the love of her life. In this tragic love story, Faulkner reveals the
true identities of these individuals. The main character, Emily Grierson, in the story
A Rose for Emily , is portrayed as a dynamic character, an anti hero in the story, and
a mysterious citizen in the small town of Jefferson.
Miss Emily was a dynamic character because she changed and became withdrawn
from the people in her community over the course of the story. In the exposition,
she is a prominent and active figure in her community. Her character changed as
she encountered the tragedy of her father s death. However, she still was spotted
occasionally by the townspeople. Faulkner shows this by declaring, She carried her
head high enough even when we believed that she was fallen. It was as if she
demanded more than ever the recognition of her dignity as the last Grierson; as if it
had wanted that touch of earthiness to reaffirm her imperviousness (Faulkner 36 37).
After Homer s disappearance, Miss Emily became a true introvert. The author
supports this idea when he states, After her father s death she went out very little;
after her sweetheart went away, people hardly saw her at all (Faulkner 34). The
townspeople noticed changes
21. The War Of World War I
World War 2 was a huge turning point in history, that fixed most of the things
related to wars that World War 1 was supposed to do but did not. There were many
differences between the attitude of the US in World War 1, and their attitude in
World War 2, mainly due to what happened in between the wars. Unlike World War
1, the second World War, was not about proving a point in the American s case, but
instead revenge for what had happened in between. In the process, the attitude of the
American people towards war changed dramatically from the end of World War 1, to
the end of World War 2.
When the first World War, then known as the Great War ended, The American people

The 1920s in America, can be divided into two different parts. The first being the
boom itself, and the other being the problems that indirectly lead to the
catastrophic 30s. The 1920s was a period that saw the deep south being urbanized,
thus moving away from ordinary farming, to factories. This also included the great
migration, which saw many african american moving the upper north states like
New York, creating what was known as the harlem renaissance in Harlem, New
York. A lot of the current big money places like LA and Chicago started their boom
in the 20s. While many great things happened in the 1920s many questionable
things also happened in the decade. For example, in 1924, the evil racists political
group from the post civil war era, known as the Ku Klux Klan or the KKK,
reorganized as a racist nativist group who opposed anyone who was not an american
born white protestant. They successfully got the government to block immigrants
from entering the country, as to lessen the fear of communism spreading. The
Problems associated with the KKK and immigration, indirectly lead to the great
depression seen in the 1930s.
The backend of the 1920s, saw the US transition from greatest boom to the greatest
recession, known as the great depression. The 1920s was all about the credit system.

And...
After considering the list of ways people can make others feel welcome and valued
or like outsiders: I have come to the conclusion that each event listed could be
interpreted in a positive way and used for good or may be interpreted in a negative
way and used to fuel my oppression.
For example, Whether we look at people when we talk with them , one way of
looking at that would be to interpret that person as snobbish and they are not paying
attention. Another way of looking at it would be to understand that they are shy, or
uncomfortable with people. The negative reaction focuses on Me , my wants, my
needs, and how that person is not fulfilling them. The positive reaction focuses on
Them , understanding their wants, their needs, and how that person might be feeling.
I challenge you to look at each of those situations and find two results: one that
hinders my growth and one that excels my growth.
I believe the goal is always to make others feel welcome and valued. Although, people
say stupid things and their intentions are genuinely good. In my opinion it is never
o.k. to intentionally berate another human being. Likewise, if you cannot say
something encouraging do not speak. If you are asked, speak the truth in love.
Likewise, sometimes the truth hurts and we like to justify our actions and blame
others.
I talk to so many clients during the day and many of them say stupid remarks, but I
know they do not mean animosity towards me or anyone else. We must use
discernment to

Gabriel Garcia Marquez introduction of The Handsomest Drowned Man in the
World is already questioning the story just from the attention of the title. How can
a drowned man be handsome? The story is set in a small, isolated village opened to
a group of kids who were the first to discover a drowned man. The men head to the
neighboring villages to see if the dead man belonged to any of them, while the
women cleans off the dead body and prepare it for a funeral. But while cleaning
him off, they realized how amazingly handsome he was. He was larger, looked
heavier, and better built than any of the other villagers. The drowned man has made a
big impact on the villagers and is the central symbol in this short story. The

of life they tie towards. As the women sits up all night sewing him an outfit and
gazing at the corpse between stitches, it seemed to them that the wind had never

the dead man (Gabriel 2). This is symbolic of the women putting the dead man
back together bringing him back to life and already thier lives are changing
because of the dead man. After they gave him a funeral, to honor Esteban s
memory, the villages will build larger homes so that he can pass through freely
without shame at his size painting thier house fronts gray colors...breaking thier

he similarities between McCarthyism and the story depicted in The Crucible are
apparent and showcase the injustice of the situations faced by people of the U.S. in
the 1950 s and the townspeople of Salem during the witch trials.
Fear plays an important role in both stories. Citizens of the United States during the
McCarthyism era were scared of communism and communists infiltrating the United
States or worse, that they were already there. Likewise, townspeople of Salem in The
Crucible were scared of witches. Witches very similarly represented communists in

27. Deterrence Theory Of Crime
The view of my classmate was that demonic and classical theories addressed crime
with methods that were brutal and torturous and I responded that the method of the
deterrence theory was similar in that it wants severe, and swift punishment in
accordance to the crime committed but without the brutal and torturous treatment.
Since past demonic theories, there have been advancements and enhancements to
theories such as the classical and deterrence theories yet studies note the lack in
significant difference between more or less severities in punishment.
Perhaps there are other factors that are affecting the numbers in difference on
deterrence of crime like the societies perception of the individuals who are enforcing
the law and creating the policies.
28. Use Of Imagery In Poe s Annabel Lee
Love is a strong word but the bond it holds is even stronger. Loving someone
through cancer, death, or distance are all forms of strong bonds. In Annabel Lee ,
love comes by never leaving each others side. In Poe s poem, Annabel Lee the
author uses diction, imagery and hyperbole to show that love is stronger than
death. Poe uses imagery to create on the events that were taking place at the time.
He describes how he pictured In a kingdom by the sea (2) as a place that will hold
their bond forever. This piece of imagery shows that the word royalty might be used
to say that he imagined themselves above all with their love. This demonstrates that
people around them wanted devotion like theirs. In addition, he states The angels,
not half so happy in heaven, . (21) This shows how even the angels in heaven were
not happy with their lives therefore, that was a reason they envied Annabel leeand

In the poem Annabel Lee he states, And neither the angels in heaven above, Nor
the demons down under the sea, Can ever dissever my soul from the soul of my
beautiful Annabel Lee . This statement shows how he is explaining that the angels
and the demons are attempting to separate them. You usually would not expect the
angels to be bad guys in a poem instead you would see them being heroes. To add
on, Poe says With a love that the winged seraphs of heaven coveted her and me The
word coveted means desired. This shows how the winged seraphs of heaven desired
to have something like Annabel lee and Poe

30. The Crucible Tone
The Crucible, by Arthur Miller, revolves around the Salem witch trials of the 15th
century. Much of what precedes the play portion of the novel is dedicated to
establishing the background of the novel. This passage, in specific, sets the tone
of the novel as it describes the ideology of the witch hunts, and how they came into
effect. The passage summarizes the fundamental ideas of the witch hunts as a
paradox stating, The witch hunt was a perverse manifestation of the panic which
set among the classes when the balance began to turn toward greater individual
freedom (Miller 11). These words are an important part of the novel because it lays
out a groundwork which the rest of the ideas and concepts that are brought up in the
novel will build themselves upon. Simply put, it sets the tone for the rest of the
novel. It describes the fears that the characters have, and what conflicts they will
undergo. For instance, signs of mob mentality can be gleamed from the passage.
This can be seen when it says, balance has yet to be struck between order and
freedom (Miller 11).

responded with Polo as they called for him with Marco! Marco s early life began
without him know much about his dad, who was also a traveller, and his journeys
revolved mostly on his journeys to Dadu and his life there, such as, his time
serving the Khan or he Journeys around China and his return home. Upon Marco s
return from his journeys he released a book about his journeys, but many critics
claimed this was a fools tale, a false journey that he developed as he rotted away
within the Genoan Prison. But, on the contrary it is to my belief that his story was
proven to be true because, no European had truly known what was east of the
Middle east, so they believe that his tale was bogus , so to speak, Marco and his
family had vanished from Venice for many years, so if they didn t go easy where
did they go, lastly Why would the Polo s return to Rome in search of what the

33. Medical Acronyms
In the English language, acronyms have begun to take on the same role as their
common word counterparts. Although they may initially be created to serve a
purpose to a military or government, they have been adapted to fit into everyday
language. Whether it be medical professionals, avid sports fans, or members of a
certain generation, acronyms greatly contribute to group specific jargon.
In militaries, efficiency is highly valued. To prevent from having to repeat obscenely
long phrases, militaries frequently employ the use of acronyms. Due to this, many
acronyms originate from the military and trickle their way into the common language.
For example, the acronym, ASAP ( as soon as possible ) was first used by military
forces to express urgent ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the medical field, many procedures or conditions have acronyms that represent
them. This allows those in the medical community to trim down long medical terms
and associate them with shorter words that are much easier to remember. When used
between those in the healthcare field, these words do not pose a threat to the
transferring of ideas, as both parties understand these words meanings. However, if
one party is an outsider of the medical field, the use of such acronyms could be
detrimental to the communication between the two. Because of this, many doctors
avoid using medical acronyms when conversing with a patient about matters of his or
her health.
Among certain groups with common interests, acronyms have evolved to be used as
jargon. The use of such jargon often provides its users with a sense of belonging
within a social circle. For example, sometimes middle aged people may try to use
initialisms that are popular with the younger generation in an attempt to fit in and
rekindle the flame of their former youth. Interestingly, when such attempts are done
incorrectly, it can often have the opposite effect and alienate the person from said
group. This alienation occurs because the person is perceived to be desperate and
believed to not share common

Some of the greatest stars in the NBA were drafted straight out of high school.
Lebron James, Kobe Bryant, and Dwight Howard are just a few examples. Even
though, as of 2006, the NBA eligibility rule states that a player entering the NBA
draft must be at least nineteen years old and a year removed from high school, it is
still a huge debate in the sports world of whether or not this rule is the right choice.

If the rule were to be changed to require two years of college, the players would be
much more experienced and would create a stronger group of rookies each year
for the NBA. Imagine a young man, straight out of high school, with dreams of
playing in the NBA. What if he was one of the four players who, between 1975 and
2001, declared for the draft straight out of high school never made it to the NBA
(Should high school players be eligible). What are his options after that? Sure, he
could always go to college, but what if he never applied to one? Another option is
to play in a European league, but how is an eighteen or nineteen year old expected
to live on his own in a whole new country? This is just one downfall to being able
to enter the draft straight out of high school. While many are successful, the young
men who are not may be forced to give up their dream and must make serious life
decisions to move forward. For this reason alone, the rule should stay the same to
allow players to mature before they are able to enter the draft. The year of college
basketball played is monumental in the maturation of young players directly out of
high school. High school basketball is clearly a much different game than what is
played in the NBA; the pace is slower and the plays are far less complex. With this
said, only few players are able to adapt to the fast pace of the NBA straight out of
high school. For the majority of the players unable to do so, their

him to fight his way through each door to free Namgoong and his daughter from

to do the same and be a leader during harsh times in an apocalyptic situation.
Sacrifice is also needed while managing to survive in apocalyptic situations. In
apocalyptic situations, sacrifice is needed to protect one s family or their loved

a Tribe The word tribe has grown dramatically over the last couple of years. A tribe
can be simply defined as your audience. These are people who listen to you, follow
you, understand that you are there to help them and you have a common goal.
Your audience pays attention to you, and they say as much as they hear you say.
These are people who believe in your ideas and strategies and can be considered to be
your team. These are people you give value to and they are your super fans. A tribe
is very different from a mailing list; these people don t just come and go. They are
not the kind of people who receive your mail and don t do anything. They stick with

that Amir now has; he needs to travel to Kabul, a very dangerous place since the

Amir has shown to Baba that he is not a reflection of him, which makes Baba
believe that it is not necessary to develop a connection with his son. This makes
Amir feel guilty of himself which leads him to pursue a series of events where he
attempts to win Baba s love, even if those decisions put Hassan s life in danger.
After winning Baba s affection and creating a stronger bond with his father in
America, Amir still feels guilty for betraying his best friend in the winter of 1975.
Amir s guilt is not tearing his life apart as much as it did when he lived in Kabul,
but it still affects him negatively. He is willing to do anything to let go of his guilt,
even if it means putting his life at risk. After finding out Hassan is dead and he is
Amir s half brother, Amir heads back to his childhood home during a time when
the country is run by a terrorist organization, so he can rescue Hassan s son,
Sohrab, and finally be able to find peace in his life. Everyone makes mistakes in
their life and even if those mistakes might have destroyed another person s life, there
is always a way to earn redemption and that is by letting the guilt that one carries lead

The claim to this Agar Pieces lab is that the cells that have a larger surface area to
volume ratio are more efficient at diffusing essential nutrients. Another solution, is
the rate of diffusion is related to cell size. Nutrients diffuse at a faster rate through
small cells than they do through large cells. In this lab of Agar gel, the purpose of
this experiment is to find the surface area and volume of the cell that may affect
the ability of the molecule to be able to diffuse the cellular space. The Agar gel is

During the month of October, I have been reading the book New Moon by
Stephenie Meyer. It is 563 pages, so I did not have a chance to finish the book
entirely, but I am close! This book is the second book in the Twilight Saga and is
about Bella Swan and her struggles after Edward Cullen (her vampire boyfriend)
moves away. In the first part of my book, Bella and Edward go through a difficult
time in their relationship. The Cullen familymoves away from Forks, WA in hopes to
keep her safe, and out of danger. Little do they know, it causes Bella to be
depressed. This event inconveniently happens at the start of her senior year in high

Jacob now is isolating himself from Bella, and is hanging out with Sam s cult who

when she learns the truth. Later, Bella starts to understand and begins to accept
the fact that her best friend is changed. One day, Bella is anxious by Jacob s
disappearance so she decides to kill time by cliff jumping. Without thinking, she
jumps into raging currents and almost drowns. Many people understand the thrills
of cliff jumping, but not the dangers. Currents that can t be seen from above water,
cause fatalities every summer. Fortunately, Sam and Jacob are there to rescue her
and bring her to her home to rest. Meanwhile, Alice Cullen sees Bella jump off the
cliff because vampires often have special skills, and flies home to check on her. As
Alice and Bella begun catching up, they receive a phone call from Edward. As soon
as he had learned Bella jumped off a cliff, he presumed she died and leaves the

The first riot started because women demanded more bread. However, the riot

in Petrograd abandoned the royal family and joined the riots with workers to
demand reforms. On the same day, the Duma astonished the provisional government
and told Nicholas to abdicate. Nicholas family was been put at the Tsarskoe Selo
Palace at first. In 1918, due to the afraid of rescuing them, they were sentenced to
death on July 16.
The provisional government set up some rights and freedom for citizens, such as
freedom of speech and religion. However, since people still don t have enough food
to eat and prices were still too high, mutinies and strikes happened frequently even
after the establishing of the provisional government. One of the leaders of provisional
government, Alexander Kerensky, believes that Russiashould keep fighting in the
Great War because it is a national duty. The idea of continuing fighting with Germany
became the main cause of the second revolution.

45. Unethical Eugenics
Eugenics and Ethical Controversies Associated With Human Engineering Over the
course of Global History, Eugenics has been used with and without consent of the
person involved. In the past, Germany used Eugenics during concentration camps,
and currently, sterilization is still in use. This is based on the ideology that your past
determines your future. For the future, a statement that scientists are questioning is
whether or not Eugenicsprovides a safer and sounder world, or is it unethical and
immoral?
The Start of Eugenics
In the United States, the founder of Eugenics was Francis Galton. His research was
focused on following family genetic trees and locating it in offspring. His ideas grew
a strong following including Charles Davenport, the man who founded Eugenics
Record Office. This was a laboratory with the goal, to improve the natural, physical,
mental and temperamental qualities of the human family. (Norrgard, 2008, p.1)
Eugenics History
In 1927, Carrie Buck was considered a prime victim to undergo sterilization with the
greater purpose of Eugenics. She was labeled Mentally deficient (DenHoed, 2016,
p.1) after becoming pregnant unwed at the age of seventeen. Shortly afterwards, she
was sent away to an institution alongside many other supposed outcasts. This did not
only include physical and mentally challenged people, but also humans that had traits
consisting of alcoholism, prostitution, and drug addiction. This concept is not
surprising since the basis for

Set in the ever shifting world of the Industrial Revolution, Charles Dickens novel
Hard Times begins with a description of a utilitarian paradise created by the
illustrious and eminently practical Mr. Gradgrind, a world that follows a
prescribed set of logically laid out facts. However, readers soon realize that
Gradgrind s modern utopia is only a simulacrum, belied by the damnation of lives
devoid of elements that feed the heart and soul, as well as the mind. As the years
progress, the weaknesses of Gradgrind s carefully constructed system become
painfully apparent, especially in his children Louisa and Tom, and in the poor
workers employed under one Mr. Josiah Bounderby, a wealthy factory owner who is

However, Louisa has not succumbed entirely to her father s prohibition against
wondering and imagining. Her humanity emerges gradually as the novel
progresses, as the result of her warm inner fire created by her secret fancies in
otherwise her lonely, mechanized existence. As her failing and loveless marriage to
the greedy and arrogant bully of humility Bounderby takes its toll, Louisa reaches
out, first to Stephen Blackpool, an oppressed factory worker, and then to James
Harthouse, a cynical, amoral, and thrill seeking aristocrat who tries to seduce her.
Here, the long denial of two vital human forces, emotion and imagination, causes an
explosive release of containment in Louisa, inflicting her with adulterous yearnings
that drives her to the brink of madness and to an eventual emotional breakdown at
her father s mercy. Nothing in Louisa s previous education has prepared her to
handle her emerging passions. She saves herself from disgrace just in time, helped
by the friendship of Sissy Jupe, who represents the wisdom of the heart ― a wisdom
Louisa has never known. In the end, Louisa s true nature finally overcomes her father
s strictly scientific education, and she ends up as a mature, generous, and humane
young woman that dedicates her life to helping those less fortunate than she. Tom,
Louisa s only beacon in her completely barren life, is another dismal and pathetic
product of the Gradgrind philosophy of education. Self centered and insensitive
47. Orphan Trains And The Children
Orphan Trains Orphan trains is a documentary about children in New York, being
sent on trains to other parts of the country, in order to find families and be taken care
of. There are stories from, adults that actually rode on these trains when they were
children. The Orphan Trains was started by a man named Charles Loring Bracein
1854. Brace, had traveled to New York in the early 1850 s, and was horrified at the
conditions of all the children he saw on the street. Brace felt that it was a duty to
help these children out, and decided that the only way to help these children was to
get them away from their surroundings, and send them away to be raised in nice,
Christian homes around the country. So, in 1853, Brace founded the Children s...

Being homeless was also an exclusion. These are two exclusions that keep the
children in, Orphan Trains , from being full citizens. Even though the children are not
full citizens, they are not totally severed from mainstream society, so they actually
have second class citizenship. The founding of the Children s Aid Society was to
help the children live a better life. People believed that, these children had a right to
be taken care of and that it was their responsibility, to ensure that these children got
put into homes. So, the children had second class citizenship that is, having marginal
connections to mainstream institution, rights, and responsibilities. Even though they
were just children, they had duties. They were expected to live with a new family
and learn the work ethic that was taught to them, as well as behave in the way that
children are supposed to in society. They had the right to a certain standard of
civilization. Meaning, they deserved to live in good homes, with families that could
teach them good moral values and duties needed to become citizens in society, when
they grew up. Orphan Train children had a social citizenship. They had the right to
live life according to societies standards. They had a minimum of economic welfare
and security, with being sent to new homes where they wouldn t be homeless and
anymore, and they went to families where they could get an education and healthcare.

The client, Julie*, called into the Crisis Center Hotline looking for immediate
shelter for herself and her two young children. At that time, our shelter was not full
and therefore had space for the mother and her children. I went through the
procedural routine of making sure that she was not in the center s blue books, a
record of clients not allowed to receive shelter and/or services, and seeing if she had
an alpha card already completed, this would mean that she was a previous client at
the shelterand already had a file. Julie* did was not found in either source. At that
point, I began to complete the shelter intake paperwork with her over the phone.
The first two pages of the intake are completed first with the client. These pages
find out more about the client s demographics, her current physical and mental
health state, how many children she has and if she could be pregnant at the time,
her abuser s demographics, and the presenting primary abuse occurring. I
completed these two pages with Julie* and then from that point an approval staff
member will tell you if you can complete the rest of the intake or tell the client that
at the time we cannot offer them services. Julie* was approved to complete the rest
of the intake paperwork. The majority of the rest of the intake paperwork is a more
detailed explanation of the first two pages. These pages help the approval staff and I
see if the client raises any major concerns and allows us to prepare for her stay
49. The Impact Of The March On Washington
One of the major goals of the American Civil Rights movement was to give all
people, regardless of race, equal rights. In the United States, civil rights are supposed
to be for all people. Throughout history, people have had to fight for their rights
when others tried to deny them. Today all people get to do what they would like to
and not have to hide. The March on Washington changed the course of history and
without that march, things would not be as they are today.
The March on Washington affected the Civil Rights movement and was brought up
upon A. Philip Randolph. His goal was dominated by demands of southern civil
rights movement (History). Randolph was hoping that he could get President John F.
Kennedy to make a Civil Rights bill in Congress (King Encyclopedia). Every civil
rights group participated and helped with the March. Although, some of the groups
felt strongly about different topics, they all went and supported Randolph. After all of
the supporters showed up, there was about a quarter of a million blacks AND whites
there (Finlayson )Some people thought this event was going to turn violent but they

50. Power In Ancient Rome
Ancient Rome was made up of 3 different classes of people. The plebeians,
patricians, and the slaves. I will be talking about each one of these groups of people,
how the government worked, the different positions in the government, how much
power each class had, and how they got power. Also, The 2 types of government I
will be talking about are the Roman Republic and the Roman Empire.
Patricians:
The patricians were very wealthy. They owned land, had nice houses, and they had
slaves work for them. The patricians also had the most power in the Roman Republic
and Roman Empire. If you wanted to be a patrician as a plebeian, it would be very
hard unless you changed your family affiliation. If you wanted to be a patrician, you

This is a very well known government because many countries use this type of
Government too even today like the United States. The way this government was
formed was in 509 BCE, the Romans took the Etruscans power. Before this, the
Etruscans had ruled over the Romans. The Etruscans were another civilization in
Ancient Italy at the time. Once they were free, they made a republic called The
Roman Republic. Keep in mind, you should know that the government changed a
lot in its time. The patricians pretty much had all the power early on in the
Republic. The highest position in the Republic was held by the consuls, who were
the rulers of the Roman Republic. A senate made up of patricians and the
assemblies elected these people to become consuls. Plebeians pretty much had no
say in the government at the time. Something that was common at the time was
that only men could vote. This was true for the Roman Republic too. After a little
while, the plebeians eventually got to vote for their representatives, called tribunes
who got the power to change laws or ideas passed by the senate. While individual
plebeians or roman citizens outside the patrician, and senatorial positions were able
to get power by becoming wealthy and joining the equestrian class, their chances of
joining the senatorial class were pretty low. If a plebeian has enough money, they
could get into the equestrian class. As a group though, the plebeians were able to
effect political and social change by forming a group and going against the people
more powerful than them. For example, since there were so many plebeians, they
could riot against the higher
51. Contraceptive Methods For Women And Contraception
Women make up half of the world s population, yet many do not have access to
resources that would improve their lives. Family planning, which allows people to
attain their desired number of children and determine the spacing of their
pregnancies, is achieved through the use of contraceptive methods. The promotion of
family planningis vital to female autonomy, and also helps support the development
of communities. Access to contraception, the deliberate use of artificial methods or
other techniques to prevent pregnancy as a consequence of sexual intercourse, varies
across the world. However, according to the World Health Organization, an estimated

Divided into groups ranging from 1 to 5, one being the highest equality and 5 being
the lowest, states from group 3 and higher have greater gender equality than states in
groups 4 and 5. The Trends in Contraceptive Use Worldwide 2015 report from the
United Nations will be used to estimate contraceptive prevalence by any method, the
unmet need for family planning, and the demand for family planning satisfied with
modern methods, as well as the specific contraceptive type for married or in union
women aged 15 49. Using these two reports, the level of gender equality in each state
will be assessed in relation to the states achievement of good governance. One may
question: what are the benefits of family planning? To answer this question, an article
posted to the United Nations Population Fund website summarizes the benefits of
family planning in the well being of women, families, and economies. It reads, a new
study by the Guttmacher Institute has confirmed that women s ability to use
contraceptives, and to determine whether and when to have children, enhances their
education and employment chances. In summary, contraceptive use will lead to
educational attainment, workplace participation, and economic stability, as it
allowed more young women to obtain at least some college education, leading to
more participation in the labor force and to pursue advanced professional degrees, as
well as increasing women s earning power, decreasing the gender
52. Walt Disney Research Paper
Walt Disney s next animation was a considerably more ambitious in scale than
Steam Boat Willy, and was to be referred to by critics as Disney s Folly all throughout
production due to its scale and ambition. Disney wanted to move his studio from
shorts to
full features, and began working on Snow White and the Seven Dwarves in 1934. It is
considered by many to be the first full length animated movie ever, which made it
really
difficult for him to obtain funding. When he announced to the New York Times his
plans
to release this movie, his wife, and his business partner Roy Disney begged him to

Sleeping on guard duty is not tolerated by any means. If you fall asleep on guard
