Sanjay is a do it entrepreneur who was very much indulged in
trading. Who had got lots of dream to grown rich .As per his struggle
he traded in everything to get successes. His dream was to build a

college in his hometown that was one of the better city reason was
he could not study himself .His dream was implemented and was
going ahead . He even after not being educated or have base of
computer took a responsibility to furnish his interest to use internet

and email very recently . Later on decided to provide PC and
internet facilities to student and family member to provide more
knowledge . Later on planned to absorb his plan for 100 seat
computer lab. He was technically weak and had no much knowledge on
arranging this. This case all related to technology and lack of information
technology.
SUMMARY OF THE PROBLEM
•

Sanjay is a do it yourself entrepreneur who was very much indulge in trading.

•

His dream was to build a college in his hometown

•

He want to build computer lab with numerous computers.

•

But he is not having any knowledge about computers.

•

Different questions arise at this time around him at the time decision making.

?In the context of the given case, what
management issues need to be addressed by
Sanjay the Manager.
MANAGEMENT ISSUES
•

Lack of technical knowledge : In this modern computerized world it is
necessary for an entrepreneur to have knowledge about computers and
other technical skill which rule the cut throat market.

•

IT decisions : it is difficult for making Strategic decision, operational
decision and so on

•

Knowledge about information technology : A manager must have
knowledge about various thing. Especially which effect the business
directly. Here Sanjay is not having any knowledge on what IT application
have to be used.

•

Knowledge about dynamic business world : Manual system in the business
world has already become a history. for different aspects of business IT is
having a leading role. Now a days Even the meeting are done through
video conference and all. A manager must update his knowledge to go on
with a win to win result.
IMPORTANT FOR MANAGERS TO BE ‘TECH SAVVY’
•

Growing technology : As technology is growing day by day, manager
have to update their knowledge and skill to go on with the new market
trends. Knowledge of manager must grow with the technology.

•

Transfer of technology : We are familiar with transfer of technology. For
the purpose of adopting changes and for reduction in cost business use
to transfer technology from other countries. This helps the managers to be
more alert in his business and lead smooth functioning.

 To create Easy working environment: There different Information system

or business to make any proper decisions it require appropriate IT to
handle the following systems
•

Competitive advantage : Computers in business not only make things
easier but also it is a competitive advantage. To gain the data’s from
various sources, process it and make decision based on the information
grasp from it.
•

To increase the business value : Through internet, intranet facilities business can

communication facilities. It speed up the communication and bridges the gap

types of networks which are interconnected in different topologies. In colleges
hybrid topology (interconnection of BUS,STAR.MESH,TREE etc ) is most commonly
used network topology. Internet of Administrative will be in LAN connection and
there will be separate Wi-Fi connection for students.
?WHAT IS THE IMPORTANCE OF A ‘SYSTEM
CONSULTANT’ TO AN ORGANIZATION

17
SYSTEM CONSULTANT
System consultant is important for;
Design and modify systems by creating a set of functional
specifications based on user requirements.


Logical database designer
 Identifying the data, relationship between the data, and the
constraints on the data.
 Business rules.



Physical database designer

18
Design the database or assist data administrators

It is Responsible for the management of the data
resource including database planning, development
and maintenance of standards, policies, and
procedures, and conceptual/logical database design.

19
Develop the manual and machine procedures, and detailed
processing specifications for each data entry, update, query and
report program in the system.

manual systems are referred to the parts of a large system, where
the system analyst can work with a smaller group of tasks.
Computer Based Information System (CBIS) is a set of software
packages, which provides information for decision-making.

20
 Important for system planning
 system planning process that is a part of regular
business planning process of the organization is
highly desirable. There is typically a many business
opportunities to use information system.

 system analysis
 system analysis is a systematic investigation of
planned system to determine the function of the
system and how they relate to each other and to
any other system

21
Coding.

Also known as programming, this step involves the creation
of the system software. Requirements and systems
specifications from the System Design step are translated
into machine readable computer code.

System Design.

Once the requirements have been collected and analyzed, it is
necessary to identify in detail how the system will be constructed
to perform necessary tasks. More specifically, the System Design
phase is focused on the data requirements (what information will
be processed in the system?), the software construction (how will
the application be constructed?), and the interface construction
(what will the system look like? What standards will be followed?).

22
Testing.
As the software is created and added to the developing
system, testing is performed to ensure that it is working correctly
and efficiently. Testing is generally focused on two areas:
internal efficiency and external effectiveness. The goal of
external effectiveness testing is to verify that the software is
functioning according to system design, and that it is performing

all necessary functions or sub-functions. The goal of internal
testing is to make sure that the computer code is efficient,
standardized, and well documented.

23
System implementation
A implementation is a realization of a technical specification or
algorithm as a program, software component, or other
computer system through programming and development

24
What IT Skills HE/SHE possess?

25
Analytical Skills – the ability to see things as
systems, identify, analyze and solve problems in a
way that is going to best benefit the organization.
Technical Skills – the ability to understand how all the
computer, data, networks, operating
systems, applications work together to achieve the
end result. And understand what steps need to be
taken to troubleshoot problems.
Management Skills – the ability to manage
time, resources, change and risk effectively.

Communication Skills – the ability to effectively
communicate in multiple ways –
written, verbal, visual, electronic. Also able to
effectively listen and gather information from

26
CONCLUSION
Hereby to conclude, In this case the problem was
lack of information on the changing technology. Thus due
to lack of information sanjay was not able to make
decision and had to depend consultant.
Thus we must be updated with the prevailing
condition. Where the technology is focused in all the fields
were knowledge is being shared in large.
