A brief overview of brainstorming - an excellent method of discussing a problem in a group & finding a solution to it through common consensus or majority view. Its also used to discuss business ideas among a group...
You should be able to define the purpose of the meeting in 1 or 2 sentences at most. Set an agenda. Set a timeframe; at the very least set a start and end time. I also recommend setting a duration for each item in the agenda. These should total to the overall meeting timeframe.
Every meeting should have a "topic keeper". I like to ask for a volunteer at the beginning of the meeting. The topic keeper's job is to interrupt whenever the discussion strays from the topic under discussion.
Meetings need to start on time. Don't wait for stragglers to show up. When someone arrives late, don't go back and review what has already been covered. That just wastes the time of the people who showed up on time for the meeting.
If the meeting organizer/sponsor doesn't show up on time, consider the meeting cancelled and go back to work.

Understanding User Needs and Satisfying ThemAggregage
https://www.productmanagementtoday.com/frs/26903918/understanding-user-needs-and-satisfying-them
We know we want to create products which our customers find to be valuable. Whether we label it as customer-centric or product-led depends on how long we've been doing product management. There are three challenges we face when doing this. The obvious challenge is figuring out what our users need; the non-obvious challenges are in creating a shared understanding of those needs and in sensing if what we're doing is meeting those needs.
In this webinar, we won't focus on the research methods for discovering user-needs. We will focus on synthesis of the needs we discover, communication and alignment tools, and how we operationalize addressing those needs.
Industry expert Scott Sehlhorst will:
• Introduce a taxonomy for user goals with real world examples
• Present the Onion Diagram, a tool for contextualizing task-level goals
• Illustrate how customer journey maps capture activity-level and task-level goals
• Demonstrate the best approach to selection and prioritization of user-goals to address
• Highlight the crucial benchmarks, observable changes, in ensuring fulfillment of customer needs
Implicitly or explicitly all competing businesses employ a strategy to select a mix
of marketing resources. Formulating such competitive strategies fundamentally
involves recognizing relationships between elements of the marketing mix (e.g.,
price and product quality), as well as assessing competitive and market conditions
(i.e., industry structure in the language of economics).
2. Brainstorming
• It is a group activity undertaken by a team to jointly think
about a problem or issue and try to find a solution
• Team comprises of all stakeholders involved in the process
• Team members are selected on basis of expertise and skills
• Sometimes, people from outside the process are also
invited if their expertise or knowledge could be of benefit
to the issue being discussed.
3. How to do it?
Identify Problem or
Issue
The problem or issue that affected the business has to be identified for analysis and action
Team Selection Team under a leader which is generally the Process Head has to be selected. Team should have
representation from all the stakeholders which were impacted by the event
Meeting Agenda A common agenda of the meeting with a fixed time to meet (as decided between all members)
should be agreed
Description of the
Problem or Issue
At the time of meeting, a clear and precise description of the problem/issue should be given
along with its impact
Discussion about the
issue
The issue in question (as per the agenda) & other issues need to be discussed, with participation
of all e ers. The Leader’s role is riti al for this to e sure that all e ers ideas are a le to
express their ideas or opinions, without any regard to other people designation or higher rank.
4. Types of Brainstorming
• Free flow and discussion of ideas by all team members without
any inhibitions or restrictionsFree Wheeling
• All team members suggest various ideas as per their turn as
decided by Project Leader or mutually decided by themselvesRound Robin
• All team members present ideas by writing on cards. Later, all
ideas are discussed among team membersIdeas on Card
• Process expert or SME is asked about the problem and possible
solutionsAsk the Expert
• All team members give their thoughts, suggestions, concerns
and their positive & negative opinions about different ideas.
Concerns, Opinions &
Suggestions
5. Guidelines for Brainstorming Sessions

description of process and
problem faced

representation. Invite
people outside the project
team also if they can
contribute to the issue
being discussed
Ensure that the

time schedule. Plan a
second meeting if required

seem to be large, then
break the team into
smaller groups
All ideas, including strange
ideas are welcomed
All ideas are recorded

allowed
Everyone is encouraged to
