  • #4 INTRODUCTIONMy name is Glenn Kirkwood,Executive Director of the BNI TEAM. I work with a team of directors who are helping to start new BNI groups, which in BNI we refer to as Chapters.We are also charged with responsibility for training and mentoring existing Chapters, to make sure that our members are given the best possible opportunity to achieve their goals when they become part of BNI.In addition, we have the main driver of interest in the (???? Chapter, Name person of Company ????) here with us today also.As the lead player in this Region it is of possible interest to know a little about who I am . . .I’ve been running businesses, successfully both for others and myself, for around 40 years now.I bought my first business in 1987, and grew that business from a turnover of $400K to just over $5.7 Million, which I sold around 4 years ago.As a importer I was advised to network – well I’m a keen learner, so I immediately circulated amongst 6-7 networking groups . . . Some of my fellow networkers from those groups are here tonight . . . And on that journey I found that the BNI model was by far the most developed business networking system I had ever seen or experienced.As for the rest, I remain a member of BEC and Chamber of Commerce – 2 excellent general networking organisation’s, and we encourage our members to do likewise.BNI is different, and during the course of this evening we will attempt to explain why.
