Membership Committee
Chapter Growth Coordinator
Chapter Growth Coordinator, is responsible for
planning and deploying the growth activities of the
chapter such as visitor days and other incentives.
They will constantly be reviewing the visitor numbers
and conversion rates and working with members to
help them invite qualified potential members. They
also work with the LVH, to improve conversion rates.
If you want help on inviting or converting visitors
then this is the person to talk to.
Roles of the Growth Coordinator:
The individual roles of the Growth Coordinator are as follows:
1. Meet monthly with the Vice President and Membership Committee to determine the professions that
would best fit into the chapter. Remember – always be looking to fill the open positions of the
members’ “contact spheres”.
2. Meet regularly with the entire Leadership Team to determine areas for improvement and to offer
suggestions and feedback that may be received from guests, Visitors Hosts, and members that will
assist the chapter increasing membership.
3. Meet with the Visitor Hosts to ensure that Visitor Orientation is done effectively to convert the
visitors to members.
4. Work with Visitor Host Coordinator to ensure that the chapter is using the entire Visitor Host program
and following up with each visitor. Effective “follow-up” is essential to chapter growth. We have found
that up to 80% of the visitors who are effectively followed up with, will submit an application for
membership
5. Work with the chapter Educational Coordinator to develop educational moments on how to grow the
chapter.

6. Track your chapter-closing ratio of visitors. The average application to visitor ratio in BNI is about 1
to 6. When a chapter has more than 20 members, that ratio increases to 1 in 4. That means for every
4 to 6 visitors, one will submit an application. If you track your closing ratios, you’ll be able to see
exactly where your chapter stands and where there is an opportunity for improvement. Chapters who
effectively use the Visitor Orientation have a much higher closing ratio.
7. Coordinate events in the chapter geared toward growth, such as
Visitors’ Day – Using the Visitor Day Coordinator Package, implement a successful Visitors’ Day by
managing and educating the chapter on the event.
Focused Visitors’ Day (Stack Days) – Work with the chapter to target specific classification not
represented in the chapter and have all members focus on inviting someone in that particular
profession for a specific meeting. Work with the Contact Spheres or Power Teams in the chapter for
more focused Stack Days.
Personal Visitors’ Day – New members going though the Chapter mentoring program have a personal
visitor day in week 6 of the program.

The BNI Game – The idea of the game is to increase both the size of the chapter and the number of
referrals generated within the chapter by developing a little competitive spirit among the members
through a point system.
Inviting for the Speaker – A number of chapters have incorporated this into their weekly meetings.
Each week, the next two speakers will share who they would “like in the audience” with the chapter.
Their list could include “potential members” but also people who may never join a chapter (e.g. Police
Chief, Human Resources Manager for a large company), as well as professionals already represented
in the chapter.
Invite for an Introduction – If a member mentions someone, they are looking to meet (in a One-to-One
or in the 60-Second Presentation), invite them to meet the member at the meeting. Additionally, you
are exposing all the other members of your chapter to this person.

Application Review Coordinator, is responsible
for reviewing the new application submitted,
checking categories and following up on ALL
references. They also review the renewal
applications made by members. If you need to
make the committee aware of any information
regarding a visitor who may make an application
to join or a member coming up for renewal, this is
the person to speak to.

Mentor Coordinator
Mentor Coordinator, is responsible for the
support processes that help new members get a
great start in the chapter and help existing
members give and receive outstanding results
from their membership. This is achieved by
putting together experienced members with
members with a specific requirement. If you
would like the support of another member this
person will help you identify the person with the
right skills.
Successful Mentoring
 Assign Mentor- Mentee - Before Induction (6 week online programme)
 Meet with Mentee at the Venue only
 Remind Mentee to read the email. If Mentee has not received mail, Send your copy
to him
 Sit next to Mentee at the Chapter Meeting
 One Mentor attends MSP with all the Mentees
 Ensure Mentee registers for Advanced Trainings during the first 6 Months
 During first 4 weeks call the Mentee every week to remind about Meeting Day and
also check whether they have passed Referrals etc ONLINE

Attendance Coordinator
Attendance Coordinator, tracks the attendance
records of members and is responsible for helping
members understand the attendance policy, following
up with absent members and issuing controls letters
when required all on behalf of the membership
committee. If you need coaching on finding
substitutes then this is the person to talk to.
Attendance Accountability Letters
Attendance Letters:
• Control Letter 3: Attendance Warning Letter – Second Absence
• Control Letter 4: Attendance Warning Letter – Third Absence
• Control Letter 5: Opening a Classification
Probation Letters:
• Control Letter 6: Putting on Probation for lack of participation
• Control Letter 7: Putting on Probation for time-keeping
• Control Letter 8: Putting on Probation for disruptive behaviour in the chapter
Referral Quality & Check
Referral Quality & Quality Coordinator, is
responsible for monitoring and improving the
number and quality of referrals as well as the
value of business completed (SMTM, Show Me
The Money) in the chapter. If you are receiving
bad referrals or having trouble giving or getting
referrals this is the person to talk to.

  • 12. Chapter Growth Coordinator Chapter Growth Coordinator, is responsible for planning and deploying the growth activities of the chapter such as visitor days and other incentives. They will constantly be reviewing the visitor numbers and conversion rates and working with members to help them invite qualified potential members. They also work with the LVH, to improve conversion rates. If you want help on inviting or converting visitors then this is the person to talk to.
  • 13. Roles of the Growth Coordinator: The individual roles of the Growth Coordinator are as follows: 1. Meet monthly with the Vice President and Membership Committee to determine the professions that would best fit into the chapter. Remember – always be looking to fill the open positions of the members’ “contact spheres”. 2. Meet regularly with the entire Leadership Team to determine areas for improvement and to offer suggestions and feedback that may be received from guests, Visitors Hosts, and members that will assist the chapter increasing membership. 3. Meet with the Visitor Hosts to ensure that Visitor Orientation is done effectively to convert the visitors to members. 4. Work with Visitor Host Coordinator to ensure that the chapter is using the entire Visitor Host program and following up with each visitor. Effective “follow-up” is essential to chapter growth. We have found that up to 80% of the visitors who are effectively followed up with, will submit an application for membership 5. Work with the chapter Educational Coordinator to develop educational moments on how to grow the chapter. •
  • 14. Contd…. 6. Track your chapter-closing ratio of visitors. The average application to visitor ratio in BNI is about 1 to 6. When a chapter has more than 20 members, that ratio increases to 1 in 4. That means for every 4 to 6 visitors, one will submit an application. If you track your closing ratios, you’ll be able to see exactly where your chapter stands and where there is an opportunity for improvement. Chapters who effectively use the Visitor Orientation have a much higher closing ratio. 7. Coordinate events in the chapter geared toward growth, such as Visitors’ Day – Using the Visitor Day Coordinator Package, implement a successful Visitors’ Day by managing and educating the chapter on the event. Focused Visitors’ Day (Stack Days) – Work with the chapter to target specific classification not represented in the chapter and have all members focus on inviting someone in that particular profession for a specific meeting. Work with the Contact Spheres or Power Teams in the chapter for more focused Stack Days. Personal Visitors’ Day – New members going though the Chapter mentoring program have a personal visitor day in week 6 of the program.

The BNI Game – The idea of the game is to increase both the size of the chapter and the number of referrals generated within the chapter by developing a little competitive spirit among the members through a point system. Inviting for the Speaker – A number of chapters have incorporated this into their weekly meetings. Each week, the next two speakers will share who they would “like in the audience” with the chapter. Their list could include “potential members” but also people who may never join a chapter (e.g. Police Chief, Human Resources Manager for a large company), as well as professionals already represented in the chapter. Invite for an Introduction – If a member mentions someone, they are looking to meet (in a One-to-One or in the 60-Second Presentation), invite them to meet the member at the meeting. Additionally, you are exposing all the other members of your chapter to this person.

  • 17. Application Review Coordinator, is responsible for reviewing the new application submitted, checking categories and following up on ALL references. They also review the renewal applications made by members. If you need to make the committee aware of any information regarding a visitor who may make an application to join or a member coming up for renewal, this is the person to speak to. Mentor Coordinator Mentor Coordinator, is responsible for the support processes that help new members get a great start in the chapter and help existing members give and receive outstanding results from their membership. This is achieved by putting together experienced members with members with a specific requirement. If you would like the support of another member this person will help you identify the person with the right skills.
  • 21. Successful Mentoring  Assign Mentor- Mentee - Before Induction (6 week online programme)  Meet with Mentee at the Venue only  Remind Mentee to read the email. If Mentee has not received mail, Send your copy to him  Sit next to Mentee at the Chapter Meeting  One Mentor attends MSP with all the Mentees  Ensure Mentee registers for Advanced Trainings during the first 6 Months  During first 4 weeks call the Mentee every week to remind about Meeting Day and also check whether they have passed Referrals etc ONLINE
  • 24. Attendance Coordinator Attendance Coordinator, tracks the attendance records of members and is responsible for helping members understand the attendance policy, following up with absent members and issuing controls letters when required all on behalf of the membership committee. If you need coaching on finding substitutes then this is the person to talk to.

Attendance Accountability Letters Attendance Letters: • Control Letter 3: Attendance Warning Letter – Second Absence • Control Letter 4: Attendance Warning Letter – Third Absence • Control Letter 5: Opening a Classification Probation Letters: • Control Letter 6: Putting on Probation for lack of participation • Control Letter 7: Putting on Probation for time-keeping • Control Letter 8: Putting on Probation for disruptive behaviour in the chapter

Referral Quality & Check Referral Quality & Quality Coordinator, is responsible for monitoring and improving the number and quality of referrals as well as the value of business completed (SMTM, Show Me The Money) in the chapter. If you are receiving bad referrals or having trouble giving or getting referrals this is the person to talk to.

  • 35. Educational Co-ordinator Educational Coordinator, is a person responsible for presenting a networking education topic to their chapter every week. From time to time the Education Coordinator may select a member to deliver a networking topic to the chapter. He/she can also take a topic on the basis of ongoing problems or area of concern in the Chapter

  • 47. Social Media Co-ordinator Social Media Co-Ordinator, posts all positive updates of the chapter activities on relevant social media. Makes Arrangements for capturing the Event on regular basis, hence helps Chapter get the Right visibility on Social Media Platform
  • 48. 3/31/2020 Feature Presentation Co-ordinator Feature Presentation Co-Ordinator, helps and motivates member to prepare and deliver their Feature Presentation on the Speaker Rotation basis. Ensure that Feature Presentation is made in accordance with BNI policy i.e. 8 minutes, slides with proper ASK and GIVES.

Meet with visitors after the meeting, answer questions and review process to join. Follow up with a phone call or e-mail before the next meeting; thank them for visiting and reinforce that the chapter is looking for someone in their business.
