Assistant Production Manager.
Blistering
Blistering is the process of
making Blisters or
enclosing the tablets &
capsules into preformed
plastic packing.
Basic Flow Diagram

Major Spare Parts of Blister
Machine
1.
Heating Station
( Upper & Lower )
Heating station is
present only in
thermoform & thermo-
cold form blistering
machines.
The heating station raises
the temperature of the
plastic forming films to a
level suitable for deep
drawing. Forming films
containing the polyvinyl
chloride (PVC) support
material are heated to 120–
140  C. Polypropylene (PP)
forming films are heated to
140–150 C.

Type of Blister Machine
1. Thermoform Blistering Machine ( ALU-PVC/PVDC ).
2. Cold form Blistering Machine ( ALU-ALU ).
3. Thermo-cold Complex Blistering Machine ( Tropical : ALU-PVC-ALU ).
Type of Blister Machine
1. Thermoform Blistering
Machine
( ALU-PVC/PVDC ).
Adopts
thermoforming plastic
and lidding material of
aluminum foil.
Operation Procedure
1. Thermoform Blistering
Machine
( ALU-PVC/PVDC ).
Example : ALU-PVC machine
The sequence involves;
1. Heating the plastic,
2. Thermoforming it into blister cavities,
3. Loading the blister with the product,
4. Placing lidding material over the blister,
5. Heat-sealing the package.
6. Embossing the Strips & then Cooling.
7. Perforation & then Cutting the Strips.
Type of Blister Machine
2. Cold form Blistering
Machine ( ALU-ALU ).
Adopts cold forming
aluminum film and
lidding material of
aluminum foil.
Operation Procedure
2. Cold form Blistering
Machine ( ALU-ALU ).
Example : ALU-ALU machine
The sequence involves;
1. Installing the Aluminium Foil,
2. Cold forming it into blister cavities via punch
pins,
3. Loading the blister with the product,
4. Placing lidding material over the blister,
5. And heat-sealing the package.
6. Cutting into individual blisters
Operation Procedure
2. Cold form Blistering
Machine ( ALU-ALU ).
Example : ALU-ALU machine
1. Bottom foil uncoiler 6. Cover foil uncoiler 11. Discharge conveyor
2. Cold forming station 7. Cooling & slitting
3. Feeding device 8. Draw Off
4. Empty checker 9. Punching
5. Sealing & Embossing 10. Waste foil coiler
Type of Blister Machine
3. Thermo-cold Complex
Blistering Machine .
( Tropical : ALU-PVC-ALU ).
Tropical blister (al-plastic-al) is a creative and improved
approach for packaging of PVC
blister, seal laminates against PVC blister to bring tropical
blister. It has good barrier performance, can protect against
vapor, oxygen, UV rays and more economical than form pack
and superior compared with sachet packaging though almost
in the same cost.
Operation Procedure
3. Thermo-cold
Complex Blistering
Machine .
( Tropical : ALU-PVC-ALU ).
Example: ALU-Tropical Machine
The sequence involves;
1. Heating the plastic,
2. Thermoforming it into blister cavities,
3. Loading the blister with the product,
4. Placing lidding material over the blister,
5. And heat-sealing the package.
6. Installing the aluminium foil
7. Cold forming it into blister Pouch & seal it on
thermoformed blister to give extra protection,
8. Cutting into individual blisters

3. Thermo-cold
Complex Blistering
Machine .
( Tropical : ALU-PVC-ALU ).
