Loss Of Bison Analysis
During the settlement of the west the completion of the railroads after the Civil War within the West
caused a wide variety of the region to settlement and economic development. White settlers had
traveled from the north to reach the Mississippi area to farm, ranch and mine. Promoters from the all
western towns had convinced African Americans from the South and East that there were
opportunities for blacks out West. Diversity was expanded in the West; there were Chinese railroad
workers which brought some diversity to the town. One major lost to the American people was the
bison it was destroyed and farmers had to use other resources to plant crops. The lost of bison took a
toll on the Americans and the rise of white settlers was affecting

Essences Of The Groundwork
This problem became the one of essences of the GroundworkAs Thomas hills argues that Kant s
aims in the groundwork are not primarily to illustrate how to apply his formulas to particular
problems, but to the basic presuppositions of practical reason, or to transform his research weight from
first critique to second critique. Since the question on emptiness charge must be taken on more
practical responses, it seems to me Kant has undoubtedly realized this and attempted to mingle the
theoretical and practical issues in Groundwork. For example in order to disentangle practical and
transcendental freedom, Kant introduces another doctrine in the third section of Groundwork. This
doctrine is essentially the same as one finds in the First Critique: ... Show more content on

Perhaps such absence is for some purpose. Considering that Kant s initial concern is to clarify the
problems of freedom rather than the particularities of the moral law, perhaps, given the synthesis of
the three formulations in the second section of the Groundwork, Kant might consider it unnecessary to
modify CI yet again. By the time of the Second Critique, he engages in a rather careful explication of
the moral law in which he does not offer a clear definition of the moral law, since it appears that
providing the theoretical ground for the moral law is

The Cost Versus Return Trade Off
CONTEXT
The only thing I ever thought to be in life was to build a business like my father and take it to new
heights. For this reason I have an inclination towards my father s business. So I thought I should make
full use of my MBA and apply the models and concepts I am learning here to our own business.
So the problem I have chosen for my DMD Term Paper is to make optimum utilization of the
resources and get the maximum returns on the money we are investing in our business. The case will
help me determine and understand the cost versus return trade off. The case will help us realise that
what are the maximum benefits we could reap out of our business if we utilise our resources to an
optimal rate. There is a constraint on the costs as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Our company manufactures four different formulations of drugs of the same brand name and in the
final part of the manufacturing process there are three major operations namely mixing of salts,
pelletizing and packing and packaging of drugs into strips. For each variant the time required for these
operations is shown below (in minutes) as is the profit per strip sold.
Product Mixing of Salts(min) Pelletizing
(min) Packaging
(min) Profit per product strip(min)
A 2 3 2 1.5
B 4 2 3 2.5
C 3 3 2 3
D 7 4 5 4.5
 As per the current scenario of the labour working in our company, we estimate that, each year, we
have 1,00,000 minutes of mixing, 50,000 minutes of pelletizing time and 60,000 minutes of packaging
time available. How many of each variant should our company make per year and what is the
associated profit?
 Suppose now that we are free to decide how much time to devote to each of the three operations
within the total allowable time. How many of each variant should we make per year and what will be
the associated profit?
Now simply solving the question using common sense: xi be the number of units of product variant i

The Comparison Of Premium Saltines And Ritz Crackers
Casseroles, baked mac and cheese, fried fish, meatloaf and pies what do all of these have in common?
For starters, crackers can be found as an ingredient in each. While there are a variety of crackers to
choose from, the most commonly used are Premium Saltines and Ritz crackers. Although both are
versatile in uses, each have their own list of pros and cons. To assist in the decision making process,
based on points of contrast such as: flavor, nutrition, and price, consumers are better off purchasing
Premium Saltines for their cracker needs.
Formerly located in Newburyport, Massachusetts, the Josiah Bent Bakery, is credited for the creation
of the saltine cracker as far back as 1801. However, it was not until 1876 that the first name brand
saltine cracker, Premium, rose to popularity. Major advertising for Premium did not begin until the
1930 s, during the Great Depression, with the famous slogan, Polly want a cracker. Today, consumers
count on Premium to ease hangovers and nausea (Hiskey 1). On the other hand, Ritz crackers did not
make its debut until 1935. Named after the Riz hotel, this

there was worry among executives regarding how consumers would take to the cracker s fancy name,

Effects And Effects Of Acid Rain And Its Effects
Acid Rain: its Effect
Acid rain refers to precipitation that is more acidic (having lower pH levels) than average. In more
detail, acid rain is a type of precipitation that has mixtures of wet and dry materials coming from the
atmosphere, which includes more nitric and sulfuric acids (Conserve Energy Future: Acid Rain). Acid
rain can also be written as Acid Deposition because the acid rain could come down as other
precipitation, for instance, snow. This became a worldwide problem due to the effects it can have on
land, aquatic ecosystems, buildings, vegetation and more. The acidity of the acid rain will distort the
pH levels and break down elements to harm whatever this type of precipitation touches.
First things first, what is a pH level? The pH level is short for potential hydrogen, and the level is used
to find the acidity of an aqueous solution. The scale goes from zero to fourteen, and seven being the
most neutral level in the scale. Do not think that the drop from seven to six could be overlooked at.
The higher the level (over level 7), it contains more oxygen, and more alkaline it is. Lower the level
(below level 7), it becomes more acidic and contains less oxygen. Do not think that dropping one level
in the pH scale won t make a big difference, ...the pH scale is a logarithmic measure. This means that
every pH change of one is a tenfold change in acid content. ( The Environment: Acid Rain ). Rain, for
instance, should be around 5.3 to 6.0 pH level of acidity,

The Atchafalaya Basin
The Atchafalaya Basin could be perceived as the embodiment of the Cajun Culture within the southern
Louisiana region. It has not only been a home to the growing Cajun population but a safe haven for
Native American settlers and French colonist that have been exiled. The Basin has existed for
hundreds of years dating back to the 15th century. The basin itself is one of the most ecologically
varied regions within the United States and has provided for over hundreds of different species. The
benefits of the Atchafalaya Basin are endless and have continually provided the inhabitants of the area
with bountiful resources, hunting grounds, homes, and transportation. The Atchafalaya river basin

About 200 years ago, the first Europeans gradually moved into the Atchafalaya region and Acadians,
otherwise known as Cajuns, soon followed behind. Those who developed the Acadian culture came
from rural areas of western French. By 1604, these same people ventured off to Acadie, currently
known as Nova Scotia, Canada, where they became farmers and fisherman. Unfortunately, over the
next 100 years, the ownership of the colony of Acadie changed over several times. This caused great
distress between the colonies and created an easy access for anyone to take over. In 1713, Great
Britain took permanent control of Acadie, however many Acadians refused the rule over them. They
denied their new British title and would not swear allegiance to the British crown and church. Due to
their outlandish refusals, the British began to remove the Acadians from the homelands and herd them
onto British ships where they would set sail to an unknown destination in exile. Many of the former
Acadian colonist found their way to the southern area of Louisiana. The Acadians took refuge in a
murky swamp called Atchafalaya. They made a home out of the basin. The Acadians had to start over
their whole lives but many were relieved to be out of the hands of the British and to maintain their
independent culture they had once established. The Acadians adapted to the constantly, changing
nature of the basin environment. The settlers

Akio Toyota Criticism
A Criticism of Akio Toyota s Speech for Recall Issues Apologetic discourse is a very important form
for the accused to express their sorry, defend their reputation and regain speakers support or
forgiveness. Many speakers will pay much attention to preparing their apologia and spare not efforts
to present its contents. Apologia (from Greek ጀπολογία, speaking in defense ) is a formal defense of a
position or action. (Oxford Dictionary2016) In modern usage, apologia describes a formal defense
and should not be confused with the sense of the word apology as the expression of regret. (Merriam
Webster Dictionary.2016) It is apparent that an apologia is more like speaker s self defense, which
is pretty consistent with what Ware and Linkugel testified in their article They Spoke in Defense of
Themselves: on the Generic Criticism of Apologia . Thus in this paper, the author will make some
appropriate and reasonable comments on Akio Toyota s speech by employing some reliable theoretical
materials from Ware and Linkugel. Toyota Motor Corporation, affiliated with Japan s Mitsui Chaebol,

Decline Of Boxing In America
This research study aims to investigate and offer why the decline of boxing in America happened. It is
a fact that the people of America used to see boxing programs with a lot enthusiasm and excitement.
In addition to this, it has also been observed that all from of media (including print media and
electronic media) also used to give special attention to this sport. This situation got ultimately changed
and this sport, boxing, had to face decline or failure, in the past few decades. It was plenty of factors
that cause this decline. Some of the major reasons may include stoppage of the emphasis on the

States and they used to encourage boxers, so that they can perform with more enthusiasm and zeal.
Gradually, people of America had taken a step back and diverted their choices towards other sports or
games. In this regard, Bernick and Banks (2013) have proposed an idea that large number of factors
was involved in this act. The rest of paper gives in depth and accurate factors or causes, which were
involved in the decline of American boxing industry.
Diminishing of Heavyweight Division
According to Silverman (2012), one of the major causes or factors, which were involved in the
declining trends of boxing in America, is diminishing use of heavyweight division. It has been
examined that one of the major aspects, which caused people of America to get engage in other sports
is the stoppage of heavyweight division in boxing. This idea was supported by Bernick and Banks
(2013), according to which, the citizens of America loved to experience knockouts, which were quite
impossible without heavyweight divisions. With the passage of time, they lost their interest from
boxing and found other interesting and eye catching sports, like football, cricket, hockey, etc. It is a
fact that Ray Robinson was a middleweight, during his boxing era (Epstein, 2011). In spite

The Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) was first established in 1978. This enactment was
the Congressional reaction to the introduction amid numerous Committee hearings of past abuses of

The Living Planet Index ( Lpi )
Over the course of history, many scientist experts have raised the fright and panic about population
numbers that only increase every year. According to the Living Planet Report, the Living Planet Index
(LPI), which measures more than 10,000 representative populations of mammals, birds, reptiles,
amphibians and fish, has declined by 52 per cent since 1970. Population sizes of different species in
the world has dropped by at least half. Some of these species are the living things that establishes the
fabric of the ecosystems which sustain life on Earth. In the following two centuries, the population
increased at an annual growth rate of 6 per 1,000, reaching 2.5 billion by 1950. In the following five
decades, it has more than doubled, at a growth rate of 18 per 1,000 to reach more than 6 billion in
2000. The world population will reach 8 billion to 10 billion by the year 2030 (Robbins, 130). Today,
we are using and taking so much from our ecosystems and natural processes, we are actually exposing
and exploiting our own very existence on Earth. Nature preservation and sustainable ecological
development complement each other. They are just as much about protecting the future of humanity
our well being, economy, food security, and social stability. Earth s population is approaching ten
billion at the same time that resource limits and environmental deprivation are becoming more
apparent every day. Rich countries have long guaranteed poor nations that they, too, would

State Of Ww2 ( Background )
State of WW2 (Background)
By 1945, the war between the Allies and Germany was slowly reaching its end. To the west, Nazi
leader Adolf Hitler s desperate counteroffensive against the Allies in Belgium s Ardennes forest had
ended in a total failure . As well as in the east, it looked very hopeless for Germany(History.com
Staff.). Meanwhile, the Western Allies began considering the use of strategic bomb to fight against
Germany s stubborn defense. In January 1945, the Royal force began to consider plans for the
widespread bombing of cities in eastern Germany against Dresden and two other cities(Hickman,
Kennedy.). Also on February, the three leaders of the Allies, Franklin Roosevelt, Joseph Stalin and
Winston Churchill met at Yalta in the USSR and compromised on their visions of the postwar World
(History.com Staff. Bombing of Dresden. ). The background is very significant because it shows the
initial cause of the bombing of Dresden.
The Yalta Conference
The topic of area bombing certain parts of Germany to end the World War II was finalized in the Yalta
Conference. The conference involved the Deputy Chief of the Soviet General Staff, and General
Aleksei Antonov . They had a talk about the possibility of area bombing Germany and the possible
cities they would target if they were to bomb them. Some of the targets they discussed were Berlin and
Dresden. In the end, they ended the meeting with the final decision to bomb Dresden even though

Hair is one of the defining characteristics of mammals. The human body, apart from areas of glabrous

Comparing Alexander Hamilton s Conversation With The...
There is no doubt that the economy and rights given to people is much different than what it was in
the 1790s. While we have gained many privileges for the general public, we also made our economy
focused on growth as well as being strong and mixed. Alexander Hamilton would be happier about the
current American Society because our economy promotes trade, national banking, and manufacturing,
while continuing to promote a line of privilege in our educational system. Education, one of the
biggest disagreement between Hamilton and Jefferson. While Jefferson believed education should be
open to the public, Hamilton viewed it as a privilege that only the able and rich should have access to.
Even though today s education is open to the public, there are many instances where people who do
not have enough money or intelligence are not able to continue past high school. This is what

Nonetheless, Hamilton would be happier because of the private and most often high price college

The Canadian Oil Industry s Impact On Canada
A Nation at a Cross Road: The Canadian Oil Industry s Impact on Canada The Overview: Diverse and
multi faceted, the Canadian business market is one of the strongest functioning mixed market
economies in the world. Within the Canadian economy, the oil and gas sector stands as one of the
largest and most influential sectors. The oil and gas industry is unique as it affects almost every person
and sector of the economy worldwide, whether it is through commodity or material input costs. In
Canada, this growing industry could allow for the country to be the one of the biggest energy
producers in the world leading to a massive paradigm shift globally. The question that has arisen from
this shift is whether or not the Canadian oil and gas industry inclusive of the upstream, and midstream
sectors, has a net positive benefit to Canada. This essay will explore and seek to understand the
myriad of issues that this industry faces daily. The reason this question has to be answered is simple,
Canada sits at a very important junction in its evolution; does it continue to push forward to become
an energy superpower or does it let the environmental conversation win, pushing forward instead with
a clean energy agenda? This essay will hopefully drive this conversation forward. Research and

Not to worry, since this is not too complicated but involves a bit more creativity and imagination.
Prepare some water, some fabric paint and a few sponges. For more simple shapes, use regular
sponges (square, circle) but if you want to take your roller blind decoration a step further, purchase
some sponges in different shapes like flowers, animals, fruits or simply make some on your own.
You could probably do this while the blind is still hanging, but we would suggest you take it down to
make your work smoother. Dip the sponge into some previously determined color and swiftly press it
onto the blind surface. Make sure you apply enough color, since you do not want your bunny shape to
turn into nothing more than a smudge. Repeat the process as many time you like, changing the colors
and shapes and leave to dry.

Baseball In The 1980s
In the 1080 s the world of sports was forever changed when the players started making more money
and players were able to become free agents. But also going on in this decade were some pretty bad
things as well, the President was shot, the US Embassy in Beirut was bombed, and terrorists hijacked

happened , as well as the pine tar incident, and women were vying for top honors in NCAA

1.0 Introduction
1.1 Background
Macmillan English Dictionary defines recycling as the process of treating waste materials such as
newspaper and bottles so that they can be used again . Beside paper and bottles there have lots of
recyclable items such as aluminum cans, scrap metals, plastic and printer cartridges. Recycling saves
energy and reduces pollution and would help slow down global climate change.
The history of recycling is started nearly 4000 years ago, there was a recovery and reuse system of
bronze scrap in operation in Europe and there is evidence that composting was carried out in China. In
1898, The Association of Cleansing Superintendents is established, which today has evolved into the

2003, p.306). Solid domestic waste is one of the major environmental problems faced by most
municipalities in the country particularly in urban areas. The generation rate of waste is 1.0kg/day per
person and 80 percent of the 230 landfills in the country have only two years of lifespan left. Despite
rigorous campaigns of recycling, the attainment of recycling rate has increased from 1 2 percent in
1997 to merely 5 percent in 2001 (Aini et al. 2002, cited in Said et al. 2003, p.306).
Studies have shown that the most significant factor affecting nature is not the official government
policy but public awareness (Chukwuma 1998, cited in Said et al. 2003, p.306) or public concern for

Diffusion Of Displacement Essay
Empirical evidence regarding displacement and diffusion of benefits
A number of reviews and studies of displacement studies have been conducted since 1990. The first
critical examination of displacement was produced by Cornish and Clarke in 1987, and the result
showed that overall research stated that displacement is not inevitable, which is not compatible with
the traditional criminology predictions (Cornish and Clarke, 1987). In 1990, Barr and Pease examined
more research and found out that the evidence witch supported displacement hypothesis was little.
They suggested that it is difficult to distinguish displacement from natural offender behavior.
Moreover, they also suggested that some forms of displacement could be beneficial, i.e., less harmful
crime types (Barr and Pease, 1990). This is the similar idea of benign displacement.
Eck made a systematic review of the 33 empirical research and studies on displacement and suggested
that there is more reason to expect no displacement than a great deal ... Show more content on

They examined 102 evaluations of situationally focused crime prevention projects and evaluated 574

analytical approach, including the gross effect (GE), net effect (NE), the total net effect (TNE), and
the weighted displacement quotient (WDQ) (Bowers and Johnson, 2003; Clarke and Eck, 2005). They
found that the possibility of diffusion of benefits (27%) was even a little bit greater than the possibility
of displacement (26%). This provided the consistent support for the argument that crime did not
simply relocate because of the situational intervention, however, its opposite, the diffusion of benefit
was more likely to happen. Moreover, even though displacement could happen in some situation,
crimes tended to be less than before, so the initiatives were surely

Introduction
Lesbians, Gays, Bisexuals and Transgender (LGBT) issues have continuously triggered debates and
controversies among various individual s across the globe. The rising concerns leading to the
differences in opinions regarding LGBT emanate from the point of perceptions, cultural beliefs,
religious values and political basis. Due to the dynamics of not accepting the existence of the LGBT
peop le by some individuals in their communities, the LGBTs have found it hard to express
themselves freely and enjoy equal rights just like a regular citizen should
(Dolan, 2013). For instance, in the United States, the LGBT patients did not have visitation rights until
a directive from the Whitehouse was issued. In some communities, extreme measures have been taken
against individuals suspected to be lesbians or gays. Because of the way the public view the LGBT
people, it is disheartening and traumatizing for most of them to come out and express themselves
openly. Some have been forced to lead double standards. However, the situation has changed in
different nations and states in America where laws and policies have been developed to support and
protect the LGB
T community. As a minority group, the LGBT community has struggled over the years to have their
rights respected.
Despite the existing disagreements surrounding the LGBT rights, several states in the

Essay About Training For Dogs
Start Leash Training for Dogs With These Tips
Some people would think that dogs innately know how to behave when they are leashed.
Unfortunately, this is one of the many struggles of some dog owners. Although there are breeds that
can easily just surrender themselves to be leashed, some breeds may just want to have their freedom.
However, there will always come a time that your dog needs to be on a leash, particularly when you
want to go outdoors and make sure that your four legged body would not be accidentally hit by a car
or just get lost from too much curiosity of the environment.
Training your dog to walk on a leash may not be as easy, despite being so gentle with your pet. Here
are a few tips that can help you train your dogs to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A bolt snap clip has a small spring inside a shaft that slides open to create a hole to let the collar ring
pass through. This is more commonly used, however, after using the clip for a long time can result in
loosing of the spring which can let your dog escape. A trigger snap clip, on the other hand, is bigger
and more robust. Therefore, between the two clips, the trigger snap clip is more reliable.
Steps on How to Train Your Dog with a Leash
It is best to start leash training while your dog is just a few months old. This way, puppies are much
easier to train.
1. Once you have chosen the right leash, take your time in training your dog. Get your dog familiar
having a collar around its neck. Never try to force it on the dog in situations where your dog is fearful
or having tantrums. You can slip it on while your dog is busy playing. Make sure that the collar is snug
enough, but not too tight that could make your dog uncomfortable.
In time, your dog will feel comfortable having the collar and leash on him.
2. If your dog scratches on the collar, it may mean that he is getting uncomfortable. This is normal.
Instead of taking it out, make him busy by playing with him so he forgets about having to scratch the
collar.
3. Let your dog run around with the leash on his collar. This will slowly make him comfortable and
would easily associate having the leash during his playtime. So, the next time he sees you holding the
leash, instead of

Essay about The Lovely Bones Movie vs Book
Peter Jackson s 2009 film, The Lovely Bones, is based off of the New York Times bestseller novel
written by Alice Sebold. Both the book and the movie adaptation tell the story of a young, 14 year old
girl named Susie Salmon who is brutally murdered by her neighbor. In both versions, Susie narrates
her story from the place between Heaven and Earth, the in between, showing the lives of her family
and friends and how each of their lives have changed since her murder. However, the film adaptation
and the original novel differ in the sense of the main character focalization throughout, the graphic

film adaptation, the primary character ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the novel, the murder and rape of Susie Salmon is intensively described, ...cut into pieces... blood
soaked into the soft, wet earth... leaving no question in the reader s mind as to what was happening or
might have happened (Novel, Chapters 2 3). While in the movie version of the book, the murder and
rape scene is not showed at all, only having to be assumed by showing Mr. Harvey, the murderer,
bathing with his entire bathroom covered in blood. Also, the movie doesn t mention rape at all, only
that Susie was murdered, while the book is specific in saying that she was first raped, and then
murdered (Movie). Towards the end of the movie, Susie enters the body of Ruth Connors, Ray s best
girl friend and a medium to the spirit world, while her and Ray are visiting the sink hole in their
neighborhood, and kisses Ray (Movie). In the novel, Susie actually has sex with Ray when she enters
the body of Ruth, with all details being explained explicitly. The relationship between Susie s mother
and father throughout the film adaptation of the novel was complicated, but not as complicated as the
actual novel. In the novel, after Susie s death, the fighting between the mother, Abigail, and the father,
Jack, becomes excessive and repetitive eventually leading to Abigail having an affair with the
detective of her daughter s murder case. She eventually leaves her home and family and moves to
work in a Californian winery

Themes Of Letters To Kappus
In Letters to a Young Poet, Rilke writes letters to Kappus giving him advice and helping him figure
out solutions to deal with his problems. Themes such as solitude, childhood, criticism, and love tied in
into his life lessons trying to give Kappus a different perspective. Rilke taught Kappus to enjoy
solitude, maintain childhood innocence, ignore people s opinions, and to value the true meaning of
love. Not only does Rilke help and inspire Kappus but his readers as well. These letters allow readers
to form a new perspective on life due to Rilke s wisdom and knowledgeability. What is necessary,
after all, is only this: solitude, vast inner solitude. To walk inside yourself and meet no one for hours
that is what you must be able to attain, (Rilke 41). Rilke wanted Kappus to realize that there is no
reason to fear solitude. Solitude is about enjoying time spent alone, allowing people to explore what s
within. People tend to present themselves in a different manner when around others but solitude
allows one to be themselves. Not taking the time to get to know what is within and constantly being
surrounded by people, may have a negative effect on a person. Someone who doesn t take the time to
get to know themselves will allow others to shape them into the person they feel they re expected to

Cause And Effects Of The Meiji Restoration
The Meiji Restoration provided a catapult of overhaul within Japan. During the Tokugawa era, Japan
was split amongst hundreds of feudal domains, and the emperor was little more than a symbol
compared to the rule of the bafuku government. The advent of Western dominance in the late 19th
century demonstrated the regime s vulnerability to foreign pressure, and incapability to deal with it.
The Meiji restoration aimed to modernize, strengthen government control, and achieve unity of ideas
across the nation ─ all factors of which the Tokugawa regime could not properly demonstrate.
The 1858 US Japan Treaty of Amity and Commerce wasn t approved under imperial sanction, leading
to accusations of treachery, provoking a major military crisis. The development of foreign contacts
showed the bafuku to be militarily weak and ineffective, forcing many to realize the need for
nationalization and reform. By the late 1850s, there was a growing call for sonnō (respect for the
emperor). The imperial court became a haven for bafuku opposers, particularly radical samurai from
Satsuma and Chōshū. An alliance between the two domains concerned the bafuku, leading to an
attempted military expedition to chastise the Chōshū in 1866 for its insubordination. The failed
expedition proved the bafuku no longer possessed the strength to impose its will on even a single
domain. Following the victory, anti bafuku forces abandoned their domain affiliations, instead, naming
themselves the imperial troops .

The Pros And Cons Of Language Pedagovation
Kurt Lewin(1942), was known as the founder of social psychology, he also proposed the theory that
behavior of the person is generated from different interactions of the learner and his environment. He
suggested that learning should be observed holistically with relation to the psychological factors of the
learners environment and also the other factor that effect the learners behavior.
Jean Piaget s(Piaget s Duckworth, 1970), genetic epistemology also finds a relation between the
learning process and the interaction with the environment. Piaget s theory denies this factor that the
knowledge already exists in the society or it is inborn characteristic of the learner.

The concept of language motivation already exists and adds nothing new in the acculturation and

Then in the start of 1960s to 1980s, Gardner presented and remolded the socio educational model, the
most influential model of language learning motivation in the already existing literature (Keblawi;
2009, p. 12). Through this model, Gardner (1985a, p. 8) explains language motivation as a
combination of effort plus desire to achieve the goal of learning the language plus favorable attitudes
towards learning the language .
With the further description of integrative and instrumental motivation, it refers to the wish of the
learner to interact and communicate with the natives of the target language for the assimilation of the

view of getting a better job and handsome salary or getting the success in the examination and for

approximate results, as long as the measurement methods are kept constant, targets such as 7.2 and 7.3
can be assessed. Nonetheless if the data assemblage and compilation process improves, this progress
must be factored into the comparative results. Target 7.1 is less black and white in nature, and would
need a more specific target purpose to be effectively measured. Targets 7.a and 7.b are very qualitative
and difficult to measure. They are however ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Target 7.2 is the easiest of the targets to measure quantitatively. The indicator of concern is renewable
energy consumption, rather than renewable energy capacity. This is because most renewable energy
sources (solar, wind, etc.) have fluctuating production cycles, which lead to large power losses
CITATION UNE14 l 1033 (UN E, 2014). This data is collected by the International Energy Agency
and UN Statistics and prepared into a series of energy balance reports where the renewable and
conventional consumption can be analyzedCITATION IEAEd l 1033 (IEA, 2015 Ed). Currently the
IEA reports the renewable share constitutes 15% of the energy mixCITATION SE4151 l 1033
(SE4ALL(2), 2015). However inability to trace the source of significant components of the renewable
sector (wood/charcoal), does not differentiate between sustainable production or not.
It is not possible to accurately measure Target 7.3 directly because of the broad range of outputs
involved. Instead, the use of a proxy, energy intensity (EI) makes it possible to model energy
efficiency (EE). EI is measured by the quantity of energy required to produce a monetary unit of GDP,
and is roughly inversely proportional to EE CITATION UNE14 l 1033 (UN E, 2014). This however is
not optimal, and the relationship

African American Women Inequalities During Ww2
Women were treated unequally during WW2. Even though women played important roles during
WW2, they were discriminated against. When all of the men were required to join the military, the
government encouraged women to occupy the factory jobs that were held by men. Women earned
£2.15 per week. Even though women did the same jobs as men, they still earned less money. African
American women didn t get jobs because they faced racism, discrimination, poor pay, and were
assigned to the worst jobs. The factory owners tried to avoid African American women from working
beside white women. African American women experienced discrimination in the military during the
war. African American women were only allowed to serve in black units. Even though African

Microsoft Accounting Strategy
Microsoft s Financial Reporting Strategy
The case at hand is primarily to discuss the financial reporting strategy adopted by Microsoft Inc. for
the period 1996 1999 and the subsequent litigation that arose out of the accounting practice followed
by Microsoft.
Microsoft s primary operations has been developing and manufacturing of the software products. As a
company, it has shown a very stable growth in terms of revenues and profits, thus enabling better than
industry share price increase over more than a decade (1986 1999). With respect to the primary
operation of software development and the task to financial reporting the two areas that were required
to be established were
a) Treatment of Software Development costs.
b) Revenue ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Hence since the technical feasibility could be justified either ways using discretion, Microsoft chose to
indicate that a larger proportion of the costs were incurred prior to establishing technical feasibility
and hence the other costs related to the development are not materially significant, hence the entire
costs is shown as expense. Thus using the justification that technological feasibility of product
occurred sufficiently late in the development process and useful life of the product is short lived,
Microsoft was able to argue in favor of not capitalizing the costs and expensing them instead and use
this for reporting higher expenses (and thus lower profits).
b) The argument for Microsoft deferring to recognize a part of revenue at the point of sales was that
say when a customer is buying software in 1996, they re also buying the right to upgrades and
customer support in 1997 and 1998. Hence a part of the sales needs to be considered as Unearned
revenue .
However the real reason for stashing a huge reserved as Unearned revenue appears to be meeting
revenue and profit guidance. Microsoft has been the dominant player in the IT sector and hence it was
able to stash enough reserves over good quarters by keeping a part of its sales as Unearned revenue
that it could easily tide over a few bad quarters. The below graph gives a pictorial

to me. She won t even go to Daddy anymore. She has started screaming when I drop her off at the
church nursery. She stresses out when I leave the room. Bathroom visits are a group event. But it s
nice when she hugs me for no reason. Imagination is stirring. Teadora loves her baby dolls rocks them,

Crackers are a staple, and she gets excited about frozen yogurt (actually regular yogurt that is frozen,
not the ice creamy type). She likes peas (although my husband tries to convince her otherwise) and
loves asparagus (although she s allergic to it). She asks for bananas all the time, but doesn t really eat
them. Veggie burgers are a win. We like to go hunting for lizards (and just look at them but not get to
close). Teadora cleans her ears with a Q tip every time she comes into the bathroom. Cleaning with a
lysol wipe is super fun and keeps her busy. She is once again enamored with her stroller, except when
it s time for mama to run and she actually has to sit in it for a purpose. Sleeping through the night is

White settlers had traveled from the north to reach the Mississippi area to farm, ranch and mine. Diversity was expanded in the West; there were Chinese railroad workers which brought some diversity to the town. Since the question on emptiness charge must be taken on more practical responses, it seems to me Kant has undoubtedly realized this and attempted to mingle the theoretical and practical issues in Groundwork. Considering that Kant s initial concern is to clarify the problems of freedom rather than the particularities of the moral law, perhaps, given the synthesis of the three formulations in the second section of the Groundwork, Kant might consider it unnecessary to modify CI yet again. For starters, crackers can be found as an ingredient in each. While there are a variety of crackers to choose from, the most commonly used are Premium Saltines and Ritz crackers. Although both are versatile in uses, each have their own list of pros and cons. To assist in the decision making process, based on points of contrast such as: flavor, nutrition, and price, consumers are better off purchasing Premium Saltines for their cracker needs. Formerly located in Newburyport, Massachusetts, the Josiah Bent Bakery, is credited for the creation of the saltine cracker as far back as 1801. However, it was not until 1876 that the first name brand saltine cracker, Premium, rose to popularity. Major advertising for Premium did not begin until the 1930 s, during the Great Depression, with the famous slogan, Polly want a cracker. Today, consumers count on Premium to ease hangovers and nausea (Hiskey 1). On the other hand, Ritz crackers did not make its debut until 1935. Named after the Riz hotel, this 2 / 4 Vuong 2 popular cracker s logo was inspired by the circular label inside a hat (Alioto 1)! • 7. Effects And Effects Of Acid Rain And Its Effects Acid Rain: its Effect Acid rain refers to precipitation that is more acidic (having lower pH levels) than average. In more detail, acid rain is a type of precipitation that has mixtures of wet and dry materials coming from the atmosphere, which includes more nitric and sulfuric acids (Conserve Energy Future: Acid Rain). Acid rain can also be written as Acid Deposition because the acid rain could come down as other precipitation, for instance, snow. This became a worldwide problem due to the effects it can have on land, aquatic ecosystems, buildings, vegetation and more. The acidity of the acid rain will distort the pH levels and break down elements to harm whatever this type of precipitation touches. First things first, what is a pH level? The pH level is short for potential hydrogen, and the level is used to find the acidity of an aqueous solution. The scale goes from zero to fourteen, and seven being the most neutral level in the scale. Do not think that the drop from seven to six could be overlooked at. The higher the level (over level 7), it contains more oxygen, and more alkaline it is. Lower the level (below level 7), it becomes more acidic and contains less oxygen. Do not think that dropping one level in the pH scale won t make a big difference, ...the pH scale is a logarithmic measure. This means that every pH change of one is a tenfold change in acid content. ( The Environment: Acid Rain ). Rain, for instance, should be around 5.3 to 6.0 pH level of acidity, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

About 200 years ago, the first Europeans gradually moved into the Atchafalaya region and Acadians, otherwise known as Cajuns, soon followed behind. Those who developed the Acadian culture came from rural areas of western French. By 1604, these same people ventured off to Acadie, currently known as Nova Scotia, Canada, where they became farmers and fisherman. Unfortunately, over the next 100 years, the ownership of the colony of Acadie changed over several times. This caused great distress between the colonies and created an easy access for anyone to take over. In 1713, Great Britain took permanent control of Acadie, however many Acadians refused the rule over them. They denied their new British title and would not swear allegiance to the British crown and church. Due to their outlandish refusals, the British began to remove the Acadians from the homelands and herd them onto British ships where they would set sail to an unknown destination in exile. Many of the former Acadian colonist found their way to the southern area of Louisiana. The Acadians took refuge in a murky swamp called Atchafalaya. They made a home out of the basin. The Acadians had to start over their whole lives but many were relieved to be out of the hands of the British and to maintain their independent culture they had once established. • 9. Akio Toyota Criticism A Criticism of Akio Toyota s Speech for Recall Issues Apologetic discourse is a very important form for the accused to express their sorry, defend their reputation and regain speakers support or forgiveness. Many speakers will pay much attention to preparing their apologia and spare not efforts to present its contents. Apologia (from Greek ጀπολογία, speaking in defense ) is a formal defense of a position or action. (Oxford Dictionary2016) In modern usage, apologia describes a formal defense and should not be confused with the sense of the word apology as the expression of regret. (Merriam Webster Dictionary.2016) It is apparent that an apologia is more like speaker s self defense, which is pretty consistent with what Ware and Linkugel testified in their article They Spoke in Defense of Themselves: on the Generic Criticism of Apologia . Thus in this paper, the author will make some appropriate and reasonable comments on Akio Toyota s speech by employing some reliable theoretical materials from Ware and Linkugel. According to the Living Planet Report, the Living Planet Index (LPI), which measures more than 10,000 representative populations of mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians and fish, has declined by 52 per cent since 1970. Population sizes of different species in the world has dropped by at least half. Some of these species are the living things that establishes the fabric of the ecosystems which sustain life on Earth. Unfortunately, this is one of the many struggles of some dog owners. Although there are breeds that can easily just surrender themselves to be leashed, some breeds may just want to have their freedom. However, there will always come a time that your dog needs to be on a leash, particularly when you want to go outdoors and make sure that your four legged body would not be accidentally hit by a car or just get lost from too much curiosity of the environment. This is more commonly used, however, after using the clip for a long time can result in loosing of the spring which can let your dog escape. A trigger snap clip, on the other hand, is bigger and more robust. Therefore, between the two clips, the trigger snap clip is more reliable. Steps on How to Train Your Dog with a Leash It is best to start leash training while your dog is just a few months old. This way, puppies are much easier to train. 1. Once you have chosen the right leash, take your time in training your dog. Get your dog familiar having a collar around its neck. Never try to force it on the dog in situations where your dog is fearful or having tantrums. You can slip it on while your dog is busy playing. Make sure that the collar is snug enough, but not too tight that could make your dog uncomfortable. In time, your dog will feel comfortable having the collar and leash on him. 2. If your dog scratches on the collar, it may mean that he is getting uncomfortable. This is normal. Instead of taking it out, make him busy by playing with him so he forgets about having to scratch the collar. 3. Let your dog run around with the leash on his collar. This will slowly make him comfortable and would easily associate having the leash during his playtime. So, the next time he sees you holding the leash, instead of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Towards the end of the movie, Susie enters the body of Ruth Connors, Ray s best girl friend and a medium to the spirit world, while her and Ray are visiting the sink hole in their neighborhood, and kisses Ray (Movie). In the novel, Susie actually has sex with Ray when she enters the body of Ruth, with all details being explained explicitly. Themes such as solitude, childhood, criticism, and love tied in into his life lessons trying to give Kappus a different perspective. Rilke taught Kappus to enjoy solitude, maintain childhood innocence, ignore people s opinions, and to value the true meaning of love. Not only does Rilke help and inspire Kappus but his readers as well. These letters allow readers to form a new perspective on life due to Rilke s wisdom and knowledgeability. What is necessary, after all, is only this: solitude, vast inner solitude. To walk inside yourself and meet no one for hours that is what you must be able to attain, (Rilke 41). Rilke wanted Kappus to realize that there is no reason to fear solitude. Solitude is about enjoying time spent alone, allowing people to explore what s within. People tend to present themselves in a different manner when around others but solitude allows one to be themselves. Not taking the time to get to know what is within and constantly being surrounded by people, may have a negative effect on a person. Someone who doesn t take the time to get to know themselves will allow others to shape them into the person they feel they re expected to become. • 40. Cause And Effects Of The Meiji Restoration The Meiji Restoration provided a catapult of overhaul within Japan. During the Tokugawa era, Japan was split amongst hundreds of feudal domains, and the emperor was little more than a symbol compared to the rule of the bafuku government. The advent of Western dominance in the late 19th century demonstrated the regime s vulnerability to foreign pressure, and incapability to deal with it. The Meiji restoration aimed to modernize, strengthen government control, and achieve unity of ideas across the nation ─ all factors of which the Tokugawa regime could not properly demonstrate. The 1858 US Japan Treaty of Amity and Commerce wasn t approved under imperial sanction, leading to accusations of treachery, provoking a major military crisis. The development of foreign contacts showed the bafuku to be militarily weak and ineffective, forcing many to realize the need for nationalization and reform. By the late 1850s, there was a growing call for sonnō (respect for the emperor). The imperial court became a haven for bafuku opposers, particularly radical samurai from Satsuma and ChōshÅ«. An alliance between the two domains concerned the bafuku, leading to an attempted military expedition to chastise the ChōshÅ« in 1866 for its insubordination. The failed expedition proved the bafuku no longer possessed the strength to impose its will on even a single domain. Following the victory, anti bafuku forces abandoned their domain affiliations, instead, naming themselves the imperial troops . ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

With the further description of integrative and instrumental motivation, it refers to the wish of the learner to interact and communicate with the natives of the target language for the assimilation of the language. Nonetheless if the data assemblage and compilation process improves, this progress must be factored into the comparative results. This is because most renewable energy sources (solar, wind, etc.) have fluctuating production cycles, which lead to large power losses CITATION UNE14 l 1033 (UN E, 2014). This data is collected by the International Energy Agency and UN Statistics and prepared into a series of energy balance reports where the renewable and conventional consumption can be analyzedCITATION IEAEd l 1033 (IEA, 2015 Ed). Instead, the use of a proxy, energy intensity (EI) makes it possible to model energy efficiency (EE). Thus using the justification that technological feasibility of product occurred sufficiently late in the development process and useful life of the product is short lived, Microsoft was able to argue in favor of not capitalizing the costs and expensing them instead and use this for reporting higher expenses (and thus lower profits). b) The argument for Microsoft deferring to recognize a part of revenue at the point of sales was that say when a customer is buying software in 1996, they re also buying the right to upgrades and customer support in 1997 and 1998.
