Statement Of Medical Statement For Doctor
Medical Statement for Me.
Medicine has been around the world for millennia, and yet there is still no end sight for human
sickness. I appreciate the fact that medicine has made a great leaps and strides in the past few
centuries, but there are still many and many diseases in the world today. Therefore, it is important that
we do not give up in the study of medicine. This is the reason that have highlighted me to strides in
medicine and contributes to the ability of the immune systems to fight and overcome illnesses and
improve the life of the people.
My passionate to medicine started at the age of 11 when I had to accompany my mother to the
hospital, as she was very sick. The situation was quite daunting and scary for me, but the gentle and
friendly nature of the doctor we saw helped me to feel less afraid. I had to shed tears for the sick
people and I felt courageous in dedicating to study a course that will take me in science to take
practical action of fighting against diseases and have close interaction with the patients.
This was the turning point in my life as I realize the impressive role that I would play in helping
people with illness. I was inspired by the doctor who had ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It was a great experience as I was introduced to the thermometer, stethoscope, a blood pressure
machine and some equipment that a doctor use during operation. This broaden my capacity that a
medical physician must utilize all this tools to aid him in diagnosing sickness of the patients and, this
can help him in prescribing a better effective medication to the patient. I learnt the power of words
when communicating with the patients to low down and control one s emotion, because they are
physical depressed and this can contribute to their quality of

Toronto Police s Budget Cuts
Problem
The major problem with the Toronto Police s budget cuts are that they plan to freeze hiring for three
years. This has caused major burnout rates and a reduction in moral in many officers (Fox, 2017). The
plan initiated by the Toronto Police this January is one looking at a change to police culture as well as
budget reduction. The hiring freeze is a product of the budget, the Toronto Police Service has hit the 1
billion mark as of this year, exceeding any budget ever had in the past (Powell, 2016). The Toronto
police have made it their goal to not go over this cap and are doing everything in their power to cut
costs. One of the ways they plan on doing this is through a 3 year hiring freeze of all civilian and new
cadets (Lee Shanok, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A prominent example is that of the privatization of Hydro One. Premier Kathleen Wynne wants to
build $29 billion worth of new transit, roads and bridges over the next 10 years, and needs a way to
pay for it(Morrow, 2015). In order to find more money, she has decided to sell off government assets
(Morrow, 2015). This takes them out of the budget thus reducing expenditures as well as brings in
money to be sued on other aspects of government. This is the same to Toronto removing the agencies
not directly related to policing. It will provide more money to the force and remove the expenses that
came along with harbouring those agencies. As Sappington and Stiglitz (1987) s fundamental
Irrelevance Theorem explains, privatization may be, under some conditions, an optimal solution to the
delegation problem (Martimort,

Examples Of Fidelity In Clueless
The idea of fidelity can limit our understanding of adaptation in many ways. This idea is shown
throughout Clueless, a 1990 s adaptation of the novel Emma. Firstly, the theory of fidelity is that, in
order to be successful, adaptations should religiously follow their source text and keep every aspect of
the text identical. The notion in itself is incredibly flawed, as there are many different ways to adapt a
source text and still retain its significance. Also, it supports the claim that an adaptation is inherently a
loss, which is harmful and problematic. It also raises the idea that fidelity is not even attainable when
creating an adaptation as every form of media is an adaptation in some form and it becomes harder
and harder to think in

Essay on A Feminist Reading of John Updike s A P
A Feminist Reading of A P
Gone are the days that humans could live impulsively, only taking physical pain and pleasure into
account when making decisions. Or so one would like to believe. In a display of sheer innocence and
ignorance, Sammy, a grocery clerk at the A P, managed to revert back to the original behavior patterns
of his ape like ancestors. One cannot possibly predict the future of Sammy, given his own illogical and
irrational behavior. But one can, through a careful examination of Sammy s life, determine that
Sammy is just a naive, young man whose impulsive acts, partly as a consequence of his upbringing,
compel him to participate in a cause not worth fighting for, instead of using his talents for more
constructive ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He had only one goal: do everything in his power to impress the girls, making sure they would not
escape the hallowed A P without having awe filled reverence for the grocery clerk named Sammy.
However, from the beginning, Sammy s idealistic dreams of renown had a sour taste to them.
Sammy began his grocery clerk glory days as a victim of his own parents over watchfulness. His
parents had known Lengel, the store manager, for years, and took it upon themselves to get Sammy a
job. Perhaps his parents believed that doing Sammy s dirty work would somehow shelter Sammy from
the so called real world, or perhaps they merely wanted the best for their son, and getting him a job
was their way of giving Sammy what they felt he was due. Whatever his parents motives were, the
end result was somewhat of a loss of Sammy s independence. Given the circumstances surrounding
the rest of the story, it is not unreasonable to assume that Sammy had felt somewhat dependent upon
his parents and did not like that dependence at all. But he had never faced the right circumstance that
may have potentially given him a reason, or an excuse, to break his ties with his parents and become
truly independent. Lengel points out, Sammy, you don t want to do this to your Mom and Dad . . . You
ll feel this for the rest of your life (Updike 411). Despite this warning, Sammy is more than willing to
break the unwritten covenant he has with his parents and attempts

Riley V. California Case Study
It is unlikely for Computin to be able to successfully suppress the evidence against him considering
any avenue he could take would all be invalidated under the FISAAmendments act, specifically
Section 702. One such avenue is claiming his Fourth Amendment rights were violated. Under the
Fourth Amendment one can expect a reasonable expectation of privacy that is both subjective and
objective. If Computin expected his laptop to be private and if society would also agree that such
privacy is reasonable, he can claim that the court violated his Fourth Amendment Rights. Many cases
have seen people try but fail to invoke their Fourth Amendment rights. In the legal case of Riley v.
California, Riley moved to suppress evidence that was obtained without a warrant, citing his Fourth
Amendment rights that prevented warrantless searches. Even though this was a physical procedure

Why Should We Make Decisions On Experiences That They...
able to make decisions on experiences that they themselves could not understand. This really raised a
lot of questions to me about who is in power and how big of a problem it is the those in power are not
more diverse. We have struggled in society and have imprisoned so many behind stone walls of
racism, sexism, and homophobia (Rudacille 140).
It also raised awareness that the very same acts done by heterosexual couples were acceptable, and not
punishable in the confines of the home, but that gays were not even safe in private. After the decision
in Lawrence v Texas made by the U.S. Supreme Court, it was understood that the gay community had
a chance to move forward into the light even more, and that their fight for freedom would not
disappear. By declaring that it is unconstitutional to make arrests against gays in the home, it also
declared that homosexuals should have the same rights as everyone else. It made it more acceptable
and brought homosexuality into the light to where it was okay to talk about and dispute. Not only was
it just an invasion of liberty, as the Court thought , but also the case enforced a bad law, a Homosexual
Status Law, which made being gay a crime.
In writing this paper, I went back to the very beginning of our discussions, and looked at my very first
discussion post on the Stonewall Uprising. I realized, that while we did do a lot of court case focused

Traditionalism In The 1920s
Since the 1920s era was run by Republican throughout its entirety, many of the traditionalist ideals
were represented and found a way into the laws that often ended badly. This brought a revival of
groups like the Ku Klux Klan, which infiltrated political positions in many states. Plus, with the whole
objective of America focusing more on itself and as a result of war, America decided to start closing
its borders. After World War 1, the people of America went through a period of Red Scare where
basically people were very uneasy due to previous occurrences of bombings, communist influences
and other sorts of events (Cisneros, 2016). This rise in tension and conflict resulted in a host of
changes to the immigration policies of America, resulting ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Due to the dramatic changes in the culture of the United States like flappers and such, many of these
fundamentalists, who had mainly protestant and traditionalist ideals, felt as if what they were so
passionate about was being disregarded and disrespected. Moreover, this cannot be seen more like in
the monkey trial. As noted in the article, Change and Reaction in the 1920s , many states enacted a
law that did not allow schools to teach evolution because that went against the bible, on of those states
was Tennessee. A teacher from Tennessee named John Scopes was soon put on trial due to him
breaking this law. Also, Scopes trial was the first ever broadcast over radio and became a national
event primarily because of the notoriety of the attorneys representing each side... The high point came
when Darrow called Bryan, a recognized lay authority on the Bible, as a witness, and Bryan admitted
on the stand that it was possible that creation may not have taken place in six, 24‐hour days, thereby
refuting a literal interpretation of the Bible. Nonetheless, the jury found Scopes guilty of violating the
state s anti‐evolution statute and fined him $100 (Cisneros

1. What type of market are you in? Only retailers that offer similar products and are in competitive
markets are forced to make this discounting strategy choice. For example, pricing is a key
differentiator of retailers selling homogenous products price is important in a market where two
similar grocery stores, located a mile or two apart, sell the same products. Retailers in this market
environment have to adopt an EDLP or Hi Lo pricing strategy. In contrast, Whole Foods (or as my
sister prefers to call it, Whole Paycheck ) offers a differentiated product (natural and organic foods).
And while Whole Foods runs occasional specials, discounting is not a primary component of its retail
strategy. 2. Are your customers price sensitive? Convenience stores like 7 Eleven, even those located
close to discount grocery stores (selling the same products at a significant discount), often cater to less
price sensitive customers. If your customers are not price sensitive, there s less of a need to adopt an
EDLP or Hi Lo pricing strategy. 3. Do you have a cost advantage? If you are going with an EDLP
strategy, it d be helpful to posses a cost advantage. There should be a measurable difference between
your EDLP price and a Hi Lo retailer s Hi price. Wal Mart is a classic example of a retailer with lower
costs relative to its competitors. 4. Who are your customers? Are your

Nuclear Power Plants
In 1942, Enrico Fermi successfully sustained a nuclear fission reaction and created the world s first
functional reactor. What his experiments, and those of earlier scientists like Otto Hahn and Fritz
Strassman, showed was that by splitting the nucleus of heavy radioactive elements (like uranium and
cadmium), energy is released, and the reaction could be designed to generate a sustained energy
source (Schlager Weisblatt, 2006). Subsequent experiments illuminated the promise of nuclear energy
as a reliable alternative to coal, and scientists and economists praised it as the future of energy. While
nuclear power remains the most efficient form of energy (Nei.org, 2013), its early proponents failed to
take into account the potentially devastating effects of a power plant overloading and exposing
radioactive waste to nearby populations, and catastrophic events like the Chernobyl and Fukushima
disasters have substantially undermined the promise of Nuclear Energy. The question of whether
nuclear power will become the standard of energy production remains a hotly debated topic among
economists and environmentalists alike. The economic costs of nuclear energy are vast, ranging from
government oversights and barriers to entry, to variable human capital costs and fiercely competitive
substitutes. By analyzing the economics of the establishment of a nuclear power plant, we can get
closer to answering the question of whether nuclear power will become the true future of energy. In

The Transformation Of Human Development
Chapter 2 The Beginning from conception to birth illustrates that the human development begins even
at a stage of one s life that has not even formed yet. Every person starts life as a single cell, called a
zygote. (Berger, 48) The zygote contains characteristics that create universal and unique
characteristics of each human (Berger, 48) The universal characteristics that each unit of life contains
molecules that are full of information and instructions called DNA. Human development begins from
zygote to newborn in which prenatal development is divided into three categories: Germinal period,
Embryonic period, and fetal period. (Berger, 58) The Germinal Period appears begins during the first 2
weeks after conception. The zygote begins duplication and division, in which the 23 pairs of
chromosomes duplicate and divide to for new cells that also go through the same process, from one
cell duplicating into two, then four, and then eight, and continuing on. Stem cells are the first cells
processed to complete the characteristics of an individual by allowing these cells to create others.
(Berger, 58) A process called differentiation determines which cells are going to function as what and
where. For example, some cells will be sent to create and take control of the eyes. All cells have
important tasks and jobs that they are assigned. The last stages of this period uses other cells to form a
shell that will become the placenta in which it surrounds and protects the

Analysis Of Bell Hooks And Frantz Fanon
Both philosophers, bell hooks and Frantz Fanon, address the problem of equality. In Feminism is for
Everybody, hooks defines feminism as a movement to end sexism, sexist exploitation, and oppression.
Hooks begins by stating feminism is for everybody (2000) and that it is an attempt to end sexism
though reform feminism. In Racism and Culture, Fanon investigates whether ending racism is due to
cultural relativity. In the book by Gloria Anzaldua Borderlands/La Frontera, she describes the personal
struggles she faced through her insecurities relative to the society that exists today. In agreement,
Fanon believes racism can be eliminated once the idea of superiority is rejected amongst people. This
paper investigates both views of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Reformist feminism became their route to class mobility... while sexism did not end, they could
maximize their freedom within the existing system (Hooks, 5). It is seen through reform feminists that
women are trying take the role of men in terms of hierarchy by trying to move up in terms of class.
For example, working in the Federal Bureau of Investigation is portrayed such that women are
secretaries and men are the ones leading investigations out in the field especially on television.
Broadcasting this ideology is partially to blame for the existence of sexism. Consequently, reform
feminism is subjected towards gender equality seen as a classification.
Fanon believes that there are three stages to racism and culture. One of these stages include people
having no culture through the justification of slavery. Racism, as we have seen, is only one element of
a vaster whole: that of the systematized oppression of a people (Fanon, 3). Slavery is a form of
ownership where a person known as a slave is controlled and forced to work. This is a historical
example of the oppressed that are taken advantage of and used due to the fact that they are labeled as
property. Racism is something that can be eliminated once the notion that superiority exists amongst
people is rejected.
There are many similarities between Hooks and Fanon in terms of eliminating sexism and oppression
in its entirety. Hooks and Fanon both agree that

Essay On Healthcare Accreditation
Accreditation is a process review that healthcare organizations participate in to demonstrate the ability
to meet regulatory requirements and accreditation standards established by a recognized accreditation
organization. Accreditation helps the dedication and improvement on the performance and the quality
of care for the patients. Without this accreditation would be low and the facility would not meet the
standards of the federal government. Accreditation is a non government program that is voluntary, this
program evaluates a facility. I say its voluntary, but not completely as many facilities will need to have
accreditation to collect the bills from a state funded insurance. Most of the bills from the state funded
insurance are Medicaid and Medicare but there are also some others but these are the main ones. This
accreditation is like someone that is wanting to take nursing classes, some of the classes are not

Many criticisms have been made on the validity of social media s impact on activism because of its
lack of the strong, personal bonds required in high risk activism as in such prominent activist
campaigns as the Civil Rights Movement. Social media is not as effective in creating a significant
impact in social activism compared to actual riots and protests. It lacks the centralized, structured focus
needed for effective social movements. Critics of social media and its growing impact would argue
that the impersonal nature of social media does not promote action and personal sacrifice so much as it
promotes participation in spreading the message of the cause and support of the values of the cause.
The argument is made that activists on social media would rather like a page on Facebook or follow a
Twitter account than risk their lives for the sake of their causes which is reflected in many statistics
that show a low ratio between the amount of likes received on a page and the amount of action taken
to aid in fixing the problem being presented; for example, the popular ALS Ice Bucket Challenge that

The Pizza Delivery Quick (PDQ) Industry service in America is considered to be a very successful

managing the day to day operations needs significant planning and a clear tactics to create, implement,
execute and have successful results. However, the PDQ last report sales are on the level of 30%,
which places the company in a serious difficult position to continue operating competitively.
The PDQ project will take a detail process that will help launch the appropriate software technology
along with existing processes in order to implement new cutting edge innovations. Although
technology is not the only leverage for improving project management, modern technology is an
important element (Kendall Austin, 2013). Today, businesses depend on technology to produce more
in less time and with minimal resources making modern technology a critical component to a
successful business. In today s high tech world, it is important to develop and execute effective project
management strategies that will place the company at a competitive level. Companies must continue

Skinner was a prolific author; he had more than 200 articles and 20 books related to psychology, so he
was a psychologist and a writer. His first encounters with behavioral science was after attending
Hamilton College, where he decided to become a writer, he loved what he did and was impressed by
it. At Hamilton College he felt that he didn t fit in with others, he didn t party or hang out with other
students. However he graduated in 1926 with his BA in English. Skinner worked in writing
newspapers and articles, but didn t feel that he was such a success in what he was doing.
He resigned and decided to pursue a different direction in his life. He went back to studying but this

Because he chose the psychology field he had many theories and experiments that changed our world

The Intellectual Life of Miguel Hidalgo Y Costilla
The Intellectual Life of Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla
Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla, also referred to as the father of Mexican independence, began his life on
May 8, 1753. He was born on the ranch of San Vincente, the estate of San Diego Corraljo, in the
Jurisdiction of Pénjamo, Guanajuato.[1] His parents were Don Cristóbal Hidalgo y Costilla and Doña
Ana María Gallaga. Miguel Hidalgo was a Creole, meaning that he was born of pure Spanish blood in
a province of Spain.[2] Don Cristóbal and Doña Ana María conceived three more sons subsequent to
Miguel. All of their sons were beneficiaries to the reign of Carlos III in Spain. Carlos III allowed
admittance of Creoles to colleges and universities, thus inspiring Creole fathers to send their ... Show

Following this accomplishment, Hidalgo spent time in Valladolid where he lectured in Latin,
Philosophy, and the principles of Theology at San Nicolás.[12] In 1773 Hidalgo returned to the
University of Mexico for his second Bachelor degree in Theology. In 1774 Hidalgo won a prize for the
best dissertation on the The True Method of Studying Theology. Then in 1778 he was ordained as a
priest either in Valladolid or the City of Mexico.[13] During, as well as following, his academic career
Hidalgo spent the majority of his time in Valladolid. His occupations included Rector of the college of
San Nicolás, teacher, and cleric. It has been stated that many of the heroes of the revolutionary period
were native of Valladolid or its vicinity, or were at one time resident there. Beginning in 1785 in
Colima, Hidalgo engaged himself in parochial work, and in 1793 took the position of curate of the
parish church in San Filipe.[14] It was in the year 1800 that the inquisition became suspicious of
Hidalgo. He was denounced by Fray Joaquin Huesca for unorthodox utterances. A report issued
thereafter by the Michoacan commissioner claimed that Hidalgo was a most learned man who had
ruined himself with gambling and women, that he had read prohibited books and while a professor of
theology he had taught from Jansenist works. [15] As no hard evidence of these accusations surfaced,
the paperwork was filed away for future reference. In 1801, Hidalgo began his

Essay on Medicine During the Elizabethan Era
Medicine During the Elizabethan Era
The medicinal practices and problems of the Elizabethan Era were very important to the people,
although they are very different from those of today. There were many different beliefs and diseases,
like the Plague. Medicine was not an exact science and was related to Alchemy (Chemistry). Here,
some of the many practices and beliefs of the Elizabethan Era will be discussed.
One of the most widely known and important of the beliefs was the humours. It was believed that
every living creature was composed of four elements, the humours. They were blood, phlegm, choler
(or yellow bile), and melancholy (or black bile). It was believed that the overall total combination of

related to a certain star sign or constellation, and he would bear in mind under which star sign each

Alchemy (Early Chemistry) was another science closely related to medicine. Alchemy was the name
given to this science in Latin Europe in the 12th century. It was a belief that the human body was
closely related to the stars and the heavens. Over hundreds of years, the main goals of alchemists were
to turn any metal into gold and discover an elixir which could cure all ills or lead to immortality. This
magical elixir was called the philosopher s stone. Alchemy was based on the belief that there are four
basic elements fire, earth, air and water and three essentials salt, sulfur and mercury. The metals gold,
silver, copper, lead, iron, and tin were all known before the rise of alchemy. The liquid metal, mercury,
and the burning rock, sulfur, were also known. Many processes with these elements were known to
alchemists. The art of alchemy was heavily spiritual. Alchemists were the first to try out different
ideas and experiment with different elements, but because of their intense metaphysical and spiritual
beliefs, they didn t develop modern day scientific methods.
Alchemist studied alchemy for hundreds of years, but they didn t

Violations Of HIPAA
HIPAA is the federal Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996. The primary goal
of the law is to make it easier for people to keep health insurance, protect the confidentiality and
security of healthcare information and help the healthcare industry control administrative costs. Under
HIPAA, patients have the right to access and control their health records. In order to safeguard
protected health information (PHI, or patients individually identifiable information), health care
providers must restrict access to the information and have patients permission to disclose it. Federal
and state governments enact HIPPA. HIPPA is a federal law and therefore the rules apply to all states.
The state government handles violations until the federal government needs to step in. Some things to
keep in mind when employed by places of health care are, always keep the patients information
confidential unless privacy release forms are signed. Never talk about a patient with another coworker
or someone outside of work. The only time it is ok to talk to another coworker is if that person is
directly involved in the patients health care plan, such as a nurse coming on duty, or a doctor ... Show

the violation. An example is, if the individual did not know that he/she violated HIPAA, the
punishment can be a minimum of $100 per violation, with an annual maximum of $25,000 for repeat
violations. Maximum would be $50,000 per violation, with an annual maximum of $1.5 million. A
more severe violation such as a HIPAA violation is due to willful neglect and is not corrected,

How Did Morgan Spurlock Change Over Time
Morgan Spurlock had changed a great deal over 30 days of eating only fast food. For 30 days, he had
to eat three McDonald s meals per day and had to supersize his meal when offered. Obviously, he
could only eat what Mcdo offered on the menu. His health of course deteriorated, but his morale also
took a blow.
First, Spurlock gained weight. In total, after a month of fast food he had gained 11,1 kg. His body
mass had increased by 13 percent and his body fat by 7 percent. In terms of BMI (body mass index),
which is defined as the individual s body mass divided by the square of their height, he went from

Essay On The Nature Of Frankenstein
In Insurmountable barriers to our union : Homosocial male bonding, homosexual panic, and death on
the ice in Frankenstein James Holt McGavran makes a compelling argument about the nature of
Frankenstein s creature in Mary Shelley s Frankenstein. He argues that the creature represents his
creators repressed sexuality and that Victor s rejection of the creature stems from homosexual panic.
The revulsion Victor feels is due to being faced with a physical manifestation of his sexuality and
being forced to confront it. McGavran claims that the mutual obsession with one another that the
creature and Victor share is due to attraction, and that the creature represents an ideal lover for Victor.
He goes on to offer proof of both Shelley s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
this idea helps provide clarity to one of the most contested moments in the text, which is why exactly
Victor turns on his creation immediately after seeing him when he had previously desired it with an
ardour that far exceeded moderation; but now that I had finished, the beauty of the dream vanished
and breathless horror and disgust filled my heart (Shelley, 39). McGavran argues that it is the fact that
the creature is a physical representation of Victors sexuality that forces him to have to acknowledge
his homosexual desire. McGavran points out that Victor had selected his features as beautiful (Shelley,
39) which means that the creature has not always revolted his creator (McGavran, 47). This reinforces
both the idea of homosexual panic and McGavran s argument that the creature represents his ideal
male lover (47) as Shelley makes a point of saying that Victor wanted his creature to be attractive.
Further, after the creation of the creature, Victor: travers[es] the streets, without any clear conception
of where [he] was or what [he] was doing. [His] heart palpitated in the sickness of fear; and [he]
hurried on with irregular steps, not daring to look about [him] (Shelley, 40). That he is too afraid to
look about him suggests that he is filled with shame over his realization of the nature of his creation.
In the article, McGavran touches on feminist

last 50 years. The evolution of the music industry has given a boom to the economic activity in many
geographical scales. Technological development has been playing an effective role for the evolution of
the music industries. Looking back at the success of these music businesses, it used to be all about fun,
dignity, entertainment and business. There were no issues regarding our social and cultural values nor
there were any piracy issues. But gradually with the evolution of the music industry, it has also
challenged our social and cultural boundaries. Current issues and legislation The product of the music
industry has also been an effective tool for communication. It holds the potential to convey an
emotion, tell a story or act as a medium for celebration. The impact of music can be felt in almost
every aspect of life, because we listen to it on our daily life. In like manner, music and the music
industry also play a significant role in communicating its social norms. These ideals have challenged
political and religious ideologies, social and cultural boundaries, and individual and gender rights.

Observation of a Hallway Essay
The building labeled B appears to be the main building for courses at Local Community College.
Students walk in and out of the building all day and stop only to enter a classroom or buy food from
the vending machines which fill one corner of the building s long hallway. Often, students sit on the
chairs that line the walls while waiting for a class to start, but for now the hallway is nearly empty and
waiting for the ambush of students.
Outside the classroom, a number plaque reading one hundred and seventy is sitting on the wall framed

rests in its case concealed by dark glass. A young man also sits across from the door. He has dark hair
about two inches long, and has it styled in casual disarray. His facial features are well formed, having
a strong line about his jaw and thick eyebrows. His eyes are the color of the sky before a storm. His
body is well proportioned and his clothes are made of designer quality. Other students walk by, but he

engrossed in the study of his book.
The air is filled with a sweet aroma as another female student walks by. The perfume is strong and
people choke and turn their heads when she walks past them. The sound of noisy flip flops coming
down the hallway alerts the boy and he rises to greet his friend. When standing, he is about six feet tall
and seems to be well muscled. His friend was of much the same description, only the friend is slightly
less muscled and his eyes are the color of the sky on a clear day. Girls leaning against the walls and

In early decades of the 18th century, privatization had been introduced into the market. This new

This may results to either two conditions increase in unemployment rate or decreases in standard of
living due to cost saving policy implemented by the privatized firm.
Secondly, privatization also affects the welfare of the society as a whole. This can be explained by
examining again the orientation of the firm after being privatized. Theoretically, economic efficiency
can be divided into two categories, namely productive efficiency and allocative efficiency. Productive
efficiency is achieved if firms produce goods and services demanded by consumer, while allocative
efficiency is achieved if the goods produced were marketed to the right people. Right people here
means people who demands for the goods and capable to pay for it. Results from privatization is, the
market now will replace the real needs of people with those demanded item, given that it will yield
high profit for the firm. For example, basic needs like tap water and electricity is not available in
certain rural areas, but firms compete with each other to bid for mega projects in big cities. Here, firms
are no longer concern with their social responsibility towards public, but only interested in making
huge profit.

The Disadvantages of Genetic Testing on Children Discussed...
In chapter four of her book Genetic Dilemmas, Dena Davis asserts that it is unethical for parents to
subject their children to genetic testing for the markers of adult onset genetic diseases because it
places an unfair constraint on a child s right to an open future. It both removes the child s ability to
choose whether to be tested as an adult and has the potential to negatively alter the overall trajectory
of their lives. While the current consensus amongst medical professionals is that such testing should
be prohibited (Davis, _____), many concerned parents correctly point out that discouraging such
testing creates a conflict of interests between the beneficence model of patient care and the rights of

(Davis ____). Testing irreversibly robs children of the right to choose whether to get tested as adults,
when they can better understand the implications of test results (Davis ____). Thus it constitutes a
violation of a right in trust, (a right such as the right to reproduce or vote that the child cannot use yet,
but must be protected so that the right may be exercised later) and removes the child s ability to
choose, as his or her parents did, to be tested later on in life for reproductive, marriage, or medical
reasons. She also asserts that testing is a violation of the child s privacy since she can no longer
choose whether to disclose her test results to her parents. Thus, healthcare providers should protect
any child s ability to choose which information she shares with her parents, particularly if that
information (as is the case with late onset genetic diseases) only becomes relevant in adulthood and
will affect her choices in marriage or reproduction (Davis _____). There are two main ways genetic
testing places a constraint on a child s right to an open future. The first of these is that the revelation of
a child s disease status can change his life narrative and the way parents and others treat him, and
substantially alter his or her life s trajectory (Davis _____). Parents may feel guilty or shelter their not

Social Class Structures
Primarily, the social class structures in the United States attaches descriptions of and distinctions
between individuals based on the roles and status people hold at any given moment and subsequently
judge accordingly. However, descriptions of statuses and roles in society are relatively provisional
since the structure of any society is to adapt and evolve continuously. A profession (achieved status)
that was once highly respected can now be regarded with contempt; an individual s gender (ascribed
status) once dictated how one should behave by societal standards (prescribed role), now is
disregarded and reformed. Therefore, even though in America, there are no formal, enforced social

Unsurprisingly, it has proven to be complicated to live in a devoutly religious and predominately

members of my community engage in in groups and out groups to class groups especially groups of
religion. As stated by Basirico, Cashion, and Eshleman (2014), in groups form social units in which
establishes boundaries meant to separate those who belong from those who don t; thereby making
individuals part of the out group feel inferior. Consequently, an in group s mentality often attaches
preconceived notions about out groups to which may generate misconceptions, prejudices, and
egregious stereotypes (Basirico, Cashion, Eshleman, 2014). These kinds of assumptions affect human
beings and can either support or hinder one s self concept and sense of social belongingness. For
example, in my community, there are religious stratifications that provoke not only variously
gratuitous conflict but also religious segregation and exclusion. Moreover, religious debates often
become political, and it goes without saying that I am now a firm believer in

My Experience At The Florida Gulf Coast Lacrosse League...
With the blow of a whistle, practice comes to a grinding halt. Tired young men remove their helmets
and gasp for air in the early but oppressive Florida summer. I gather with the rest of the coaching staff
and together we prepare one of our final talks to the team before they battle in the Florida Gulf Coast
Lacrosse League Championship game. In the six months leading to this final surge, myself and the
other coaches have worked to instill four key traits into our players: teamwork, dedication, integrity,
and respect. It is these four qualities, we believe, that will allow them to develop a fifth quality,
technical competence, and take them to the top of their sport. More importantly, it is these four traits
that we believe will transform them into mature young men and prepare them for the rigors of life off
of the field. Many of my life s most significant events coincided with my coaching career. I opened a
business, went back to school, and even met my wife. It also marks the period of my life when I began
a maturation process, albeit several years overdue. Prior to the start of my coaching, I stumbled from
one phase of my life to another, my immaturity and lack of direction fueling each other in a vicious
cycle. While coaching may not have been the event that triggered my maturation, it certainly signified
the beginning of a new era in my life, an era punctuated by a renewed understanding and appreciation
of the same traits I worked to pass onto my players. During

  • 2. Statement Of Medical Statement For Doctor Medical Statement for Me. Medicine has been around the world for millennia, and yet there is still no end sight for human sickness. I appreciate the fact that medicine has made a great leaps and strides in the past few centuries, but there are still many and many diseases in the world today. Therefore, it is important that we do not give up in the study of medicine. This is the reason that have highlighted me to strides in medicine and contributes to the ability of the immune systems to fight and overcome illnesses and improve the life of the people. My passionate to medicine started at the age of 11 when I had to accompany my mother to the hospital, as she was very sick. The situation was quite daunting and scary for me, but the gentle and friendly nature of the doctor we saw helped me to feel less afraid. I had to shed tears for the sick people and I felt courageous in dedicating to study a course that will take me in science to take practical action of fighting against diseases and have close interaction with the patients. This was the turning point in my life as I realize the impressive role that I would play in helping people with illness. I was inspired by the doctor who had ... • 3. Toronto Police s Budget Cuts Problem The major problem with the Toronto Police s budget cuts are that they plan to freeze hiring for three years. This has caused major burnout rates and a reduction in moral in many officers (Fox, 2017). The plan initiated by the Toronto Police this January is one looking at a change to police culture as well as budget reduction. The hiring freeze is a product of the budget, the Toronto Police Service has hit the 1 billion mark as of this year, exceeding any budget ever had in the past (Powell, 2016). The Toronto police have made it their goal to not go over this cap and are doing everything in their power to cut costs. One of the ways they plan on doing this is through a 3 year hiring freeze of all civilian and new cadets (Lee Shanok, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A prominent example is that of the privatization of Hydro One. Premier Kathleen Wynne wants to build $29 billion worth of new transit, roads and bridges over the next 10 years, and needs a way to pay for it(Morrow, 2015). In order to find more money, she has decided to sell off government assets (Morrow, 2015). This takes them out of the budget thus reducing expenditures as well as brings in money to be sued on other aspects of government. This is the same to Toronto removing the agencies not directly related to policing. It will provide more money to the force and remove the expenses that came along with harbouring those agencies. As Sappington and Stiglitz (1987) s fundamental Irrelevance Theorem explains, privatization may be, under some conditions, an optimal solution to the delegation problem (Martimort, ... • 4. Examples Of Fidelity In Clueless The idea of fidelity can limit our understanding of adaptation in many ways. This idea is shown throughout Clueless, a 1990 s adaptation of the novel Emma. Firstly, the theory of fidelity is that, in order to be successful, adaptations should religiously follow their source text and keep every aspect of the text identical. The notion in itself is incredibly flawed, as there are many different ways to adapt a source text and still retain its significance. Also, it supports the claim that an adaptation is inherently a loss, which is harmful and problematic. It also raises the idea that fidelity is not even attainable when creating an adaptation as every form of media is an adaptation in some form and it becomes harder and harder to think in ... They are not just jerks wanting to play through the group in front. It was a good message. Respondent: To me, honestly this is more what I would think I would see in the PGA tournament commercials. This looks like what is reality for golfers. The commercial that I saw before, if I never golfed? Most people just started watching golfing because Tiger Woods played. We all are cheering for Tiger Woods. We want him to come back. Respondent: Not socially. (Laughter.) Respondent: A lot of people, that s why they are watching. • 6. Essay on A Feminist Reading of John Updike s A P A Feminist Reading of A P Gone are the days that humans could live impulsively, only taking physical pain and pleasure into account when making decisions. Or so one would like to believe. In a display of sheer innocence and ignorance, Sammy, a grocery clerk at the A P, managed to revert back to the original behavior patterns of his ape like ancestors. One cannot possibly predict the future of Sammy, given his own illogical and irrational behavior. But one can, through a careful examination of Sammy s life, determine that Sammy is just a naive, young man whose impulsive acts, partly as a consequence of his upbringing, compel him to participate in a cause not worth fighting for, instead of using his talents for more constructive ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He had only one goal: do everything in his power to impress the girls, making sure they would not escape the hallowed A P without having awe filled reverence for the grocery clerk named Sammy. However, from the beginning, Sammy s idealistic dreams of renown had a sour taste to them. Sammy began his grocery clerk glory days as a victim of his own parents over watchfulness. His parents had known Lengel, the store manager, for years, and took it upon themselves to get Sammy a job. Perhaps his parents believed that doing Sammy s dirty work would somehow shelter Sammy from the so called real world, or perhaps they merely wanted the best for their son, and getting him a job was their way of giving Sammy what they felt he was due. Whatever his parents motives were, the end result was somewhat of a loss of Sammy s independence. Given the circumstances surrounding the rest of the story, it is not unreasonable to assume that Sammy had felt somewhat dependent upon his parents and did not like that dependence at all. But he had never faced the right circumstance that may have potentially given him a reason, or an excuse, to break his ties with his parents and become truly independent. Lengel points out, Sammy, you don t want to do this to your Mom and Dad . . . You ll feel this for the rest of your life (Updike 411). Despite this warning, Sammy is more than willing to break the unwritten covenant he has with his parents and attempts ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Riley V. California Case Study It is unlikely for Computin to be able to successfully suppress the evidence against him considering any avenue he could take would all be invalidated under the FISAAmendments act, specifically Section 702. One such avenue is claiming his Fourth Amendment rights were violated. Under the Fourth Amendment one can expect a reasonable expectation of privacy that is both subjective and objective. If Computin expected his laptop to be private and if society would also agree that such privacy is reasonable, he can claim that the court violated his Fourth Amendment Rights. Many cases have seen people try but fail to invoke their Fourth Amendment rights. In the legal case of Riley v. California, Riley moved to suppress evidence that was obtained without a warrant, citing his Fourth Amendment rights that prevented warrantless searches. • 9. Why Should We Make Decisions On Experiences That They... able to make decisions on experiences that they themselves could not understand. This really raised a lot of questions to me about who is in power and how big of a problem it is the those in power are not more diverse. We have struggled in society and have imprisoned so many behind stone walls of racism, sexism, and homophobia (Rudacille 140). It also raised awareness that the very same acts done by heterosexual couples were acceptable, and not punishable in the confines of the home, but that gays were not even safe in private. After the decision in Lawrence v Texas made by the U.S. Supreme Court, it was understood that the gay community had a chance to move forward into the light even more, and that their fight for freedom would not disappear. By declaring that it is unconstitutional to make arrests against gays in the home, it also declared that homosexuals should have the same rights as everyone else. It made it more acceptable and brought homosexuality into the light to where it was okay to talk about and dispute. Not only was it just an invasion of liberty, as the Court thought , but also the case enforced a bad law, a Homosexual Status Law, which made being gay a crime. In writing this paper, I went back to the very beginning of our discussions, and looked at my very first discussion post on the Stonewall Uprising. I realized, that while we did do a lot of court case focused work, that I still learned a lot even outside of these cases. I wanted to post both my ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Traditionalism In The 1920s Since the 1920s era was run by Republican throughout its entirety, many of the traditionalist ideals were represented and found a way into the laws that often ended badly. This brought a revival of groups like the Ku Klux Klan, which infiltrated political positions in many states. Plus, with the whole objective of America focusing more on itself and as a result of war, America decided to start closing its borders. After World War 1, the people of America went through a period of Red Scare where basically people were very uneasy due to previous occurrences of bombings, communist influences and other sorts of events (Cisneros, 2016). As noted in the article, Change and Reaction in the 1920s , many states enacted a law that did not allow schools to teach evolution because that went against the bible, on of those states was Tennessee. Retailers in this market environment have to adopt an EDLP or Hi Lo pricing strategy. And while Whole Foods runs occasional specials, discounting is not a primary component of its retail strategy. 2. Are your customers price sensitive? Convenience stores like 7 Eleven, even those located close to discount grocery stores (selling the same products at a significant discount), often cater to less price sensitive customers. If your customers are not price sensitive, there s less of a need to adopt an EDLP or Hi Lo pricing strategy. 3. Do you have a cost advantage? • 12. Nuclear Power Plants In 1942, Enrico Fermi successfully sustained a nuclear fission reaction and created the world s first functional reactor. What his experiments, and those of earlier scientists like Otto Hahn and Fritz Strassman, showed was that by splitting the nucleus of heavy radioactive elements (like uranium and cadmium), energy is released, and the reaction could be designed to generate a sustained energy source (Schlager Weisblatt, 2006). Subsequent experiments illuminated the promise of nuclear energy as a reliable alternative to coal, and scientists and economists praised it as the future of energy. While nuclear power remains the most efficient form of energy (Nei.org, 2013), its early proponents failed to take into account the potentially devastating effects of a power plant overloading and exposing radioactive waste to nearby populations, and catastrophic events like the Chernobyl and Fukushima disasters have substantially undermined the promise of Nuclear Energy. The question of whether nuclear power will become the standard of energy production remains a hotly debated topic among economists and environmentalists alike. The economic costs of nuclear energy are vast, ranging from government oversights and barriers to entry, to variable human capital costs and fiercely competitive substitutes. By analyzing the economics of the establishment of a nuclear power plant, we can get closer to answering the question of whether nuclear power will become the true future of energy. In the ... The zygote begins duplication and division, in which the 23 pairs of chromosomes duplicate and divide to for new cells that also go through the same process, from one cell duplicating into two, then four, and then eight, and continuing on. Stem cells are the first cells processed to complete the characteristics of an individual by allowing these cells to create others. (Berger, 58) A process called differentiation determines which cells are going to function as what and where. For example, some cells will be sent to create and take control of the eyes. The revulsion Victor feels is due to being faced with a physical manifestation of his sexuality and being forced to confront it. McGavran argues that it is the fact that the creature is a physical representation of Victors sexuality that forces him to have to acknowledge his homosexual desire. McGavran points out that Victor had selected his features as beautiful (Shelley, 39) which means that the creature has not always revolted his creator (McGavran, 47). He simply nods or speaks quietly and seems to be engrossed in the study of his book. The air is filled with a sweet aroma as another female student walks by. The perfume is strong and people choke and turn their heads when she walks past them. The sound of noisy flip flops coming down the hallway alerts the boy and he rises to greet his friend. When standing, he is about six feet tall and seems to be well muscled. His friend was of much the same description, only the friend is slightly less muscled and his eyes are the color of the sky on a clear day. • 32. Multiple Definitions Of Being Intentional Intentional Intentional can have multiple definitions. The definition, to me, that describes it the most is to do something on purpose. I have so far been very intentional this school year. By studying hard, and listening more in class. I am intentionally trying to make even better grades. I have also been intentional when it comes to my friendships with friends. I have been spending more time with them. I have been intentionally trying to have better friendships with them. Something I need to work on is being more intentional with behaving better in class. I have a problem with talking, and easily having an attitude when I do not need to have one. • 35. The Disadvantages of Genetic Testing on Children Discussed... In chapter four of her book Genetic Dilemmas, Dena Davis asserts that it is unethical for parents to subject their children to genetic testing for the markers of adult onset genetic diseases because it places an unfair constraint on a child s right to an open future. It both removes the child s ability to choose whether to be tested as an adult and has the potential to negatively alter the overall trajectory of their lives. While the current consensus amongst medical professionals is that such testing should be prohibited (Davis, _____), many concerned parents correctly point out that discouraging such testing creates a conflict of interests between the beneficence model of patient care and the rights of parents to their own autonomy ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... (Davis ____). Testing irreversibly robs children of the right to choose whether to get tested as adults, when they can better understand the implications of test results (Davis ____). Thus it constitutes a violation of a right in trust, (a right such as the right to reproduce or vote that the child cannot use yet, but must be protected so that the right may be exercised later) and removes the child s ability to choose, as his or her parents did, to be tested later on in life for reproductive, marriage, or medical reasons. She also asserts that testing is a violation of the child s privacy since she can no longer choose whether to disclose her test results to her parents. Thus, healthcare providers should protect any child s ability to choose which information she shares with her parents, particularly if that information (as is the case with late onset genetic diseases) only becomes relevant in adulthood and will affect her choices in marriage or reproduction (Davis _____). There are two main ways genetic testing places a constraint on a child s right to an open future. The first of these is that the revelation of a child s disease status can change his life narrative and the way parents and others treat him, and substantially alter his or her life s trajectory (Davis _____). Parents may feel guilty or shelter their not yet sick ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

So has the BBC s real independence in light of the government s power to set licence fees and therefore apply financial pressure in the event of unfavourable or controversial political coverage. • 37. Social Class Structures Primarily, the social class structures in the United States attaches descriptions of and distinctions between individuals based on the roles and status people hold at any given moment and subsequently judge accordingly. However, descriptions of statuses and roles in society are relatively provisional since the structure of any society is to adapt and evolve continuously. A profession (achieved status) that was once highly respected can now be regarded with contempt; an individual s gender (ascribed status) once dictated how one should behave by societal standards (prescribed role), now is disregarded and reformed. Therefore, even though in America, there are no formal, enforced social class structures in place, social stratification, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Unsurprisingly, it has proven to be complicated to live in a devoutly religious and predominately Caucasian community as a person who is not only struggling with their faith but also as a person of color; it can become a very isolating situation quite quickly. As stated by Basirico, Cashion, and Eshleman (2014), in groups form social units in which establishes boundaries meant to separate those who belong from those who don t; thereby making individuals part of the out group feel inferior. Consequently, an in group s mentality often attaches preconceived notions about out groups to which may generate misconceptions, prejudices, and egregious stereotypes (Basirico, Cashion, Eshleman, 2014). These kinds of assumptions affect human beings and can either support or hinder one s self concept and sense of social belongingness. For example, in my community, there are religious stratifications that provoke not only variously gratuitous conflict but also religious segregation and exclusion. • 38. My Experience At The Florida Gulf Coast Lacrosse League... With the blow of a whistle, practice comes to a grinding halt. Tired young men remove their helmets and gasp for air in the early but oppressive Florida summer. I gather with the rest of the coaching staff and together we prepare one of our final talks to the team before they battle in the Florida Gulf Coast Lacrosse League Championship game. In the six months leading to this final surge, myself and the other coaches have worked to instill four key traits into our players: teamwork, dedication, integrity, and respect. It is these four qualities, we believe, that will allow them to develop a fifth quality, technical competence, and take them to the top of their sport. More importantly, it is these four traits that we believe will transform them into mature young men and prepare them for the rigors of life off of the field. Many of my life s most significant events coincided with my coaching career. I opened a business, went back to school, and even met my wife. It also marks the period of my life when I began a maturation process, albeit several years overdue. Prior to the start of my coaching, I stumbled from one phase of my life to another, my immaturity and lack of direction fueling each other in a vicious cycle. While coaching may not have been the event that triggered my maturation, it certainly signified the beginning of a new era in my life, an era punctuated by a renewed understanding and appreciation of the same traits I worked to pass onto my players.
