Beethoven Haydn Symphony104
Lastly, the third music that the played it was for Haydn Symphony No. 104. I do know this piece, and
I was happy when I saw them playing it. they played the four movements. The first one which was the
Adagio Allegro, reminded me with Beethoven his 9th symphony. The opening of this movement was
hard and dynamic of it is loud at the beginning, but then is getting softer with the cello and violins. It

Limited Alumni Engagement
LimitedAlumni Engagement Due to Campus Experience Very few studies focus on the limited
engagement of Black alumni who graduate from PWIs. Even fewer offer suggestions as to how to
increase this engagement. Black alumni are more likely to be engaged with the university when they
have had positive undergraduate experiences (Gaier, 2005). These positive experiences are due to the
relationships that were developed while they were students on campus. Newman and Petrosko (2011)
describe it as a positive emotional attachment, which generates alumni loyalty. Many Black alumni
who graduated from this PWI, don t feel connected to the campus. They only choose to be engaged
when there are other engaged Black alumni with whom they had a relationship or when their
engagement helps current Black students. McDearmon (2013) posits that alumni who have a
perceived role of behavior (e.g. it is my duty to support the university through volunteering) are more

Since many of the participants stated that they did not have a relationship with their classmates, it
makes sense that they would choose not to be engaged with the university based on Gaier s statement.
This also explains why alumni choose to participate in affinity group activities. The participants who
are engaged through affinity groups talked extensively about their interpersonal relationships with
other Black alumni while they were students on campus and wanted to relive these positive memories.
According to Meeuwisse, Severiens, and Born (2010), ethnic minorities feel less comfortable in their
educational environment than their classmates from the dominant culture, which would explain why
Black students would not spend time at their class reunion. Alumni that are engaged tend to do it for
the benefit of the students which is discussed

Healthy Potion (Hp ) Is On The Point Of Entering The Diet...
Healthy Potion (HP) is on the point of entering the diet pills market as a result of grasping the
opportunity of an active demand for more healthy and safe diet pills. In order to make a marketing
plan for it to maintain unceasing and efficient development in a long run, this essay examines product,
price, place and promotion aspects to give an overall and detailed strategy. Firstly, the contents of
marketing strategies are centralized primarily on the features and essence of product itself. Next,
reasonable pricing strategies perform for the sake of gaining more profits on the basis of increasing
the brand visibility in the market. Thirdly, place strategies make sure the HP diet pills have access to

Since the diet pills are about to enter the market, its marketing strategies should be planned subject to
the demands of introduction stages in product life cycle (Day 1981, pp. 60 67). Based on the patterns
of slow sales growth, the producers can make an arrangement to put awareness building in the first
place. Generally this tactic takes the form of free trial products, discounts or advertisement on the
Internet and media to establish its market and raise awareness among potential customers in the initial
development period (Guiltinan 1999, pp. 509 529). However, concerns like profits shrinkage and
potential brand degradation are barriers to have negative influence on the subsequent development.
The drawbacks cannot be denied, but these just represent short term incentives and readily get strict
control through a well designed budget plan (Falkner, Devetsikiotis and Lambadaris 2000, pp. 2 13).
Manufacturer is supposed to bear the temporary loss in order to raise quick notice about the new
healthy diet pills from the long term perspective. Besides, gathering some retailers could contribute to
break the little buying deadlock, which is easily operated for HP diet pills as the drinks sold previously
have built up a loyal customers base.
Fundamentally, marketing strategies always focus on the product itself, thus only differentiating the
product obviously from the competitors can the new product survives in the intense competition

Monitoring Usage ContextIs An Essential Part Of Any System
Context is an essential part of any system that tries to understand user behaviour or monitor user
interaction. Monitoring usage context is a vital component in our re search as well as it provides us
with the insight and the understanding of the user s condition when he performed an certain activity.
Context itself has been defined and revised by many researchers over the course of time partly
because of the definition s need to take into consideration the advance ments in technology and what
can actually be achieved in the reality which was not possible when it was not known earlier. The
most recent and probably the most apt definition of context is that any information that can be used to
characterise the situ ation of an entity. An entity is a person, place, or object that is considered relevant
to the interaction between a user and an application, including the user and applications themselves.
[Dey 2001]. This definition clearly outlines what we are trying to achieve with the framework. The
Framework was developed for Android platform after taking into consideration its openness in terms
of data it is able to provide the overlaying application. Although there are several monitoring
frameworks for Android [Lathia et al. 2013; ?] however they all lack several vital components that are
essential to our research such as ap plication monitoring, web usage monitoring, network connections,
WiFi access points among others. Based on the platform restrictions, the sensors

The Most ImportantLearning Experience In My Life
Every learning experience in your life is significantly important, even the old experiences you ve had
in the past can be extremely influential. One of the learning experiences that I have had in the past was
learning to play chess. Learning to play chess was an important learning experience, because when
playing chess I had to learn to think ahead. Learning to think ahead while playing chess translates to
help me realize the importance of trying to be prepared for multiple types of situations as well being
able to react and adapt to unexpected situations in life. Another experience in my life that occurred in
the past was the AP statistics course that I took in high school. This class was one the most
challenging experiences in my life, during this class it helped me to form better study habits and better
my time management. Study habits have become a very important part of my daily life, because it has
allowed me to properly prepare for my classes and other important events in my life. Time
management has been able to coincide with the study habits skills I also picked up while taking my AP
statistics course, in that it has made me focus on the things in my life that are most important and that
I should spend more of my day concentrating on instead of wasting time on miniscule tasks. One of

Franz Liszt Contribution
FranzLiszt (1811 1886) Liszt was not only a principal figure in the Romantic Period but also a
composer of enormous originality and arguably the greatest piano virtuoso of his time. As a composer,
he radically extended the technique of piano writing, extended the harmonic language, and later
developed chromatic harmony which led eventual breakdown of tonality, revolutionizing the music of
the era. As a pianist, Liszt was the first to give complete solo recitals, and he did a great deal to
encourage the performance of music by Bach, Beethoven, Schubert, Berlioz, Wagner, and Robert
Schumann by transcribing their works for piano and playing them in his concerts at a time when they
were insufficiently appreciated. He also helped younger composers, and he taught a number of pupils
who themselves became famous virtuosos. Franz Liszt, one of the greatest pianist, was a living legend
and admired by some of the most accomplished musicians in the world. His skills captivated his
audience and impressed many musicians of his time. When Franz was five years old, he was already
attracted to the piano and was soon given lessons by his father, Adam Liszt. He began to show interest
in both church and Gypsy music. Franz began to compose at the age of eight and at only nine years
old, he made his first public appearance as a concert pianist. He gave several concerts in Vienna, with
great success. Liszt moved with his family to Paris in 1823. Liszt s Paris debut on March 7, 1824, was

Slavery Was TheCause Of The Civil War Essay
I believe that dispute on slavery was the largest of the causes of the Civil War, and it led to more
disagreements between the North and South. After reading the South Carolina Declaration of
Secession, the Georgia Declaration of Secession, and the Constitution of the Confederate States;
March 11, 1861, I have determined that slavery holds the most blame for starting the Civil War. Just as
the colonists fought the Revolutionary War for their independance from Great Britain, the South
fought the Civil War to gain independence from the Union. The main reason the South wanted
independence was that they feared they would lose slavery if the remained in the Union. The majority
of the South believed that it was a right of the states to have slaves, ... Show more content on

This insulting and unconstitutional demand was met with great moderation and firmness by the South.
We had shed our blood and paid our money for its acquisition; we demanded a division of it on the
line of the Missouri restriction or an equal participation in the whole of it. These propositions were
refused, the agitation became general, and the public danger was great. The case of the South was
impregnable. The price of the acquisition was the blood and treasure of both sections of all, and,
therefore, it belonged to all upon the principles of equity and justice. In this passage, and the entire
document, Georgia specifically states that the assertions for the exclusion of slavery was causing great
agitation. Since they paid for the slaves with blood and treasure , it is their right to keep slaves. The

What Is TheThorns In The Scarlet Letter A
My project consists of a cake garnished with the red letter A. The A is divided by two contradictory
ideas. The initial fraction of the cake has black frosting and a red A on it. The A has thorns around it,
showing the immoral part of the letter. The opposite half of the cake has white frosting and a red A and
is ornamented with roses instead of barbs. The relationship I am showing by including the two halves
of the A is how the idea of the letter changed throughout the book. At first, the letter, and Hester are
perceived as sinful, evil, and a smear on Puritan culture. But once Hester becomes a giver in her
community, she becomes one who the Puritans regard as being an angel or able. I took advantage of
the roses, thorns, and the opposition between black and white, to show how this change happens. ...

At the beginning of the book, the rose bush outside the prison symbolizes hope where there is none,
while at the same time its thorns show the pain of the prisoners in the prison. I used the thorns in the
first half to show how Hester is in more sadness at the beginning because she is being criticized so
sternly by everybody around her. I used the roses in the second half though to demonstrate how Hester
gains hope because of her transformed image. In addition, I chose black and white as the frosting
colors of the halves to show how contrasting these two meanings of the letter are. I chose black and
white because black is more of a sinful color, which shows how society looks at Hester and only sees
her sin through the first parts of the book. White is purer and shows how Hester becomes a symbol of
purity to the town, and the A is changed to mean angel instead of an adulterer or a sinner. First, the A
viewed as very sinful and evil, and then more

Demand and Supply
Demandand supply The term demand refers to the quantity of a given product that consumers will be
willing and able to buy at a given price. As a general common sense rule the higher the price of a
particular product the lower will be the demand for it . The term supply refers to the quantity of a
particular product that suppliers (producers and/or sellers) will make available to the market at a
particular price. The higher the price, the greater the quantity that suppliers will be willing to supply to
the market. Markets consist of individual or groups of businesses that are prepared to supply a
product, and customers who demand the product. Market price is determined by the interaction of the
forces of demand and supply. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the modern high tech world there are also important factors that influence supply. Nowhere is this
truer than in the development of new production technologies leading to the production of high
volume low cost goods. For example, in recent years Coca Cola has developed high tech canning
factories that use less costly and cheaper materials in the production of cans. Wants a want is simply a
desire for a product; it is not the same thing as demand. Effective demand refers to a desire for a
product that is backed up by a purchasing decision. For demand to be effective the consumer needs to
have the money required to make the purchase. Elasticity of demand refers to the sensitivity of
demand to a change in price. The more sensitive demand is (i.e. the more it changes) to a price change
the more elastic it is said to be. Actions Whats this? Using the buttons below you can download this

Mesopotamia Problems
Mesopotamia waslocated in Middle East, between the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers, now this land is
located mostly in Iraq. Mesopotamia is the place where humans first formed civilizations.
Mesopotamia is called the cradle civilization. This is known as this because the people of this culture
developed a large amount of things. For instance: government, written language, religion, agriculture,
and large cities. The early settlers in Mesopotamia started to go into small villages and towns.
Eventually they learned how to irrigate land and they grew crops on large farms, after that the towns

To become desert like if there was only a little bit of rain. To solve this problem the Sumerians dug
into the banks and created some irrigation canals that carried the water to fields. This allowed them to

very difficult to defend and there was no standing armies. This caused the Sumerians to build mud
brick walls around their cities for defense.
Sumerians had a low supply of resources available for building and making tools. To solve this
problem they traded cloth, grain, and crafting tools with the people from the mountains and deserts. In

Love In ThePoem In William Shakespeare s Meaning Of Love
Initial Thoughts The meaning of this poem didn t immediately grab me until I read the lines Half drew
him in, half lured him in that was when I realized that Goethe was talking about being lured in by a
siren or a nixe. At first the poem speaks to me about love at first sight. That is what I pulled from it at
the beginning but as I said above, that one line threw me into it being about a siren s song. Luring you
in until you get devoured and disappear. Did Goethe love someone that he would have disappeared
with? The siren s song is something anyone could get forced into and lose themselves. Aspect(s) of
Interest Love, that is what interests me the most in this poem. I m a softy when it comes to love
poems, they pull me in. I was surprised that I wouldn t have chosen a poem from the romantics and

seemed to be living a somewhat happy live fishing to his heart s content. He also seemed to be day
dreaming a bit just staring at the water. Who wouldn t get pulled into the siren s song? Only Odysseus
I have read has ever pulled out of the grasp of the siren s song. Many people do the same today.

Appreciation and Valuefor Life in Richard Wilbur s Poem...
In humanity, one chooses to spend the most amount of time doing what they love in order to result in a
satisfying and happily lived existence. Richard Wilbur expresses his appreciation and value of life
throughout the poem, A Late Aubade . This poem is influenced and based off of Wilbur s strong
relationship with his devoted wife. It emphasizes throughout detailed imagery how one must enjoy the
moments they have and can share with their loved one. The existence of an individual is not about
wasting time by being out and completing unnecessary jobs, it s about spending time doing what one
loves to do. Wilbur is convincing his wife to not go about on her womanly daily activities; he wants
her to stay and to take advantage of the few valuable moments life offers for them to be together.
Throughout A Late Aubade , Wilbur stresses by applying descriptive language that in life, one must
not waste any precious time and should rather focus on what they are passionate about.
Richard Wilbur was born in New York City on March 1rst in 1921. He contained a strong literary
background as he had come from a family of several journalists. Wilbur s father was a painter and as
he recorded experiences of life through his paintings, Wilbur became inspired to do this through
poetry. As he came from a Christian religious background, this was a great influence to him as he
alludes to many Christian references throughout his works. He and his middle class family had moved

protests Britain lowered the duties substantially. Then in 1765 the Stamp Act was passed certifying

Gilbert Harman TheIntrinsic Quality Of Experience
In the article The Intrinsic Quality of Experience , Gilbert Harman approaches three objections to
functionalism. The strongest argument is the argument on qualia. If functionalism is true, we can use
the extrinsic property, the relationships with other things, to create a full description of our mental
states based on their functional relations. Through introspection, we are aware of the intrinsic property
of the experience. If we are aware of the intrinsic property, then the description of our mental states
based only on the functional relationships or extrinsic property is incomplete. Therefore,
functionalism is false. In response, Harman focuses on the second premise of the objection that we are
aware of the intrinsic property of our experience.

Disadvantages Of PolicyDebate
Policy Debate was the first debate established in the National Verbalization and Debate Sodality. In
Policy Debate there are two teams in a room: The Affirmative Team and the Negative Team. This
commenced the base affirmative versus negative in Lincoln Douglas. Two people are on each team
just as most debates are. Three variants of verbalizations (Constructives, Cross Examinations and

which is when the negative side questions the affirmative side and the affirmative must answer every

as the 1NC, is presented (this is identically tantamount thing as the affirmative constructive except
conspicuously for the negative side), and the 1NC is Cross Examined (this is when the negative side is

Political System AndInterest Groups
1 Do you feel it is beneficial that we have countless interest groups and that they have an enormous
influence in our political system: I do not think that it is beneficial at all. In general, interest groups are
run by few people that just look for more profit. The ultimate goal is to get more money and it is not a
surprise that they put everything that they have in their hands in order to have new laws and programs
that could benefit them. Clear examples are drug and health companies, they control the supply of
medicine and the medical services, what result in exorbitant prices that are just affordable for some
people. 2 Do interest groups end up helping the powerful segments of society at the expense of the

Alaska, Canada, AndCanada
When you think of sending a package, the first thing that strikes your mind is efficient and prompt
delivery. This is the major trait you look for in a courier company by which you are sending your
shipments.
Alaska can be a challenging place to move freight. With a total area of 591,004 square miles, you need
a company that knows the ins and outs of Alaska. Alaska is more than twice the size of Texas, the next
largest state, and occupies 16% of the total US land area; the e w extension is 2,261 mi (3,639 km);
the maximum n s extension is 1,420 mi (2,285 km).
With the lack of highways in Alaska most shipments go by air or sea. There is no railroad service from
lower 48 states or from Canada to Alaska. The Alaska Highway, which extends 1,523 mi (2,451 km)
from Dawson Creek, British Columbia, to Fairbanks, is the only total road link with the rest of the
United States.
In Alaska, conditions are often extreme, costs are always high, and time is precious. Given the state s
geographic breadth, fickle weather, and the cost of transporting freight across great distances, ensuring
seamless transportation handoffs is a necessity.

The Invention OfThe Scientific Revolution Essay
The concept of revolutions in science has been debated by historians and philosophers for decades;
especially the notion that there was a singular idiosyncratic Scientific Revolution. Despite this, most
historians will refer to the Scientific Revolution as spanning approximately the sixteenth century to
the end of the eighteenth century. This period displayed a rise in inductive reasoning, and can also be
seen as an epistemological revolution, where scientific discoveries were being based on experimental
research, as opposed to the traditional philosophy and faith. The importance of the Scientific
Revolution can be attributed to the coincidental multidisciplinary breakthroughs made during the
Revolution, which fundamentally transformed societal views of the natural world. Finally,
philosophers such as Georg Hegel and Thomas Kuhn have been able to use systematic methodology
introduced in the Scientific Revolution to validate their models of progress;, more specifically,
scientific progress. The Scientific Revolution was the beginning of the Modern Age, as it was the
paradigm shift from the traditional, ancient world science, to the empirical and rational modern
science. To start, it is important to understand the influence of the traditional sciences on the
development of modern scientific theories. The works of great philosophers like Plato, Aristotle and
Archimedes laid a foundational understanding for modern mathematics and sciences, continued by

Why Is ForbiddenBooks Banned
Forbidden Books: Why banning books is never a good idea.
Numerous books have been prohibited by various people and countries all over the world, however, is
it really intelligent to do so? At the very least, I personally believe that it s a completely ridiculous
idea and that an approach of such likes should be lost. Everybody, regardless of their background or
living status, have a right to read what they desire for. Without question, books are one of the great
human inventions which originate from the will to record one s ideas, findings and memories to pass
down to future generations.
First of all, the possession of someone s freedom and the right to choose and read is essential,
therefore the banning of particular books, to me, is nonsense. However, it is understandable that many
books consist of uncomfortable explicit content which ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Examples include a Japanese translator of the book being stabbed to death as well as an Italian
translator encountering yet another assault, which resulted in a serious injury. Clearly, it can be seen
how easily the antagonism developed into an irreparable situation. Therefore, allow me to affirm how
books should not have the option of being banned to avoid predicaments likewise.
In the end, I find books to be a valuable source of information and beliefs that cannot, and should not,
be bound by the chains of selfishness. Furthermore, people are privileged to read and express their

What Is TheBrand Image In Hotel
Critically evaluate the role of the brand in International hospitality management
In the international hospitality, the brand is one of the important things in the marketing. The brand is

Machiavelli s OnceArgentina
How to solve a century long dispute between two countries is much debated over the past few weeks.
In 1833 the diplomatic tension between the United Kingdom and Argentina began over claims of the
Falkland Islands, a remote island south of the Argentine. Decades have passed since Argentina
surrendered to the British army losing the islands. Populist president Cristina Kirchner has
exacerbated the tension with her insulting demands and threats. Recently a new era has dawned over

This is the way to order for the world, and it should not be neglected . Mozi is saying that President
Macri shouldn t just focus his attention on what is best for Argentina and its people. Mozi says to pay
attention to the people of the Falkland Islands as well. If he wants sovereignty of the islands he has to
make sure he wins their trust and loyalty. Mozi s philosophy argues that people in power should care
for all people the same. Some people might argue and say that a leader should act above everyone else
to be able to enforce the rules. But Mozi insists that President Macri must view the people of the
Falkland Islands as if they were his own. A referendum held on the island in 2013 said 99.8% of the
population wanted to remain the current situation of being an overseas territory under the control of
the UK. Treating the islanders as his own people and not neglect them would help to avoid any type of
rebellion. Machiavelli s solution could ensure that the UK would never interfere with Argentina and
the Falkland Islands. But it would mean that they would have to relive another war that they could
lose yet again. Mozi s plan is superior to Machiavelli s because it would mean President Macri would
not be making the same mistakes as the former leaders. It would mean gaining a new relationship with
the UK and the islands Argentina has repeatedly fought

Why I WantTo Pursue A Master Of Science Degree
Education is not preparation for life; Education is life for itself.
These are the words of John Dewey, which have led an everlasting impression on my mind. It relates
to the idea of lifelong learning, and the knowledge that education is much more than what lies within
the curriculum. Whenever I pause by to reflect on my ken of knowledge, I feel that how little I have
learnt and that an enormous, unknown and fascinating wealth of knowledge lies before me, yet to be
explored. Education is like an edifice based on strong rudiments and strengthened by the fundamentals
and practical skills acquired during one s lifetime. So my main goal is to design the next generation
innovations in field rather than being just a user of existing technologies and findings. So I intend to
pursue Master of Science degree in Automotive software Engineering at your university as the first
step towards obtaining a PHD.
Nothing is Impossible in Life has always been a motivating force behind all my achievements. I
strongly believe that enjoy what we do and having the passion to pursue, we can ultimately achieve
our destination, no matter how much efforts are needed. My inherent urge and interest to pursue
engineering emanates from an instinctive inclination for Physics and Mathematics since my schooling.

Water Recycling ReducesDrinking Water Scarcity Essay
Water Recycling
A Regional Administrator named Felicia Marcus once stated, Water recycling is a critical element for
managing our water resources. Her statement symbolizes modern technological ideals to increase the
reuse of water. Also known as water reclamation, water recycling is the process of extracting
previously used water and treating it for reuse. Currently, modern technologies have allowed the
application of recycled water to enter many different areas. Reclaimed water is cleaned and
redistributed for land irrigation, to recharge ground water, for industrial applications (cooling the
water for power plants and oil refineries), for toilet water, to irrigate golf courses and to create
artificial snow. By utilizing the many ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Recycled water not only helps decrease human habitat destruction, it also is considered more effective
than natural water for agricultural irrigation. At first, farmers were skeptical of using a previously
contaminated water to irrigate their food crops. However, when studied in further detail it was
determined that reclaimed water actually contributed to plant growth. The added nutrients in the
recycled water improve crop quality and development, without polluting the crops themselves.
Farmers and others that use recycled water regularly also appreciate the dependability of receiving the
reused water. Use of reclaimed water decreases the chance of future drought and insures farmers a
more stable source of water than ever before.
In contrast, there are also many problems and questions linked to the reuse of water. Economically, the
initial installation to supply recycled water to an area can be expensive, and complicated. Separate
pipes and specific labeling is required for all reclaimed water distribution. Another concern in using
recycled water is its potential health risks. A study done by three Bay Area scientists was conducted to
search for Salmonella, Cyclospora and E. Coli 0157:H7 within water after it had been disinfected in
the tertiary stage of recycling. Fortunately the scientists did not find any of the three bacteria within
the reclaimed water, further

Stripped Roots Until the lions have their own historian, the history of the hunt will always glorify the
hunter. This quote can be applied to many different situations throughout history, but in the context of
the novel, Things Fall Apart, the quote refers to renowned Nigerian author, Chinua Achebe, recounting
the story of the Ibo people and their oppression. Achebe assumes the role of the lions historian by
exhibiting the richness of the Ibo culture and showing its destruction by the colonialism of the late
nineteenth century.
The people of Umuofia have a complex and unique system of religion and government. While most
other civilizations in the world have an easily distinguishable line between religion and government,
the religion and government of the Ibo are intertwined. The Ibo people worship a deity known as
Agbala, the goddess of the earth; however, Agbala can only be heard through Chielo, the voice of the
Oracle. The people of Umuofia are led by a chief council called the egwugwu who rely on advice
from Agbala to govern the village. Agbala s authority over the village of Umuofia is clearly seen in

What Are TheSimilarities Between Brazil And The United...
Compare and Contrast Most people have the idea that the United States of America is a country that
has been outstanding in every subject, but that is not the case anymore. There are other countries that
are gradually building up and restoring themselves. Brazil is a country that has had many difficult
situations to deal with, specifically with drug violence. Even though Brazil is struggling, they are
trying their best to defeat current situations and they are gradually restoring order. In the near future,
Brazil will be hosting the 2016 Olympics: many situations will occur because of this, so they are

the country s people to act and react to situations a certain way, while another country may act

George S PattonRhetorical Analysis
The best leaders understand that their power comes from those that they lead. In the throes of World
War II, the army was under new management; a U.S. general by the name of George S. Patton took
command of the Third Army before the allies invaded France. In assuming this power, it was
necessary to convince the soldiers in that army to follow him, possibly to their own deaths. By
analyzing the direct syntax, formatting shift in point of view, and abrasive language, it is evident that
Patton asserts that he must be respected in order to gain the soldiers trust. By utilizing short and direct
syntax, Patton cuts all verbosity, allowing him to effectively assert his authority and qualifications as
the commander of the Third Army. Patton uses sentences such as I am here because of the confidence
of two men: The president of the United States and the theater commander. The syntax is very matter
of fact, which accomplishes two purposes. One purpose is to project that he doesn t have time for b.s.
and that he is to the point and overt. Not bureaucratic in the slightest. The other purpose is to establish
his own credibility through dropping the president and the theater commander as references for
qualification. He also states both were wrong, in reference to those who believed that the allies
wouldn t fight back. This direct statement leaves no room for contention, which institutes Patton s
sense of conviction and authority. In addition, the direct syntax allows for brutal

29 October 2015 Just Like Humans
If a person was to be asked to describe our life stages, they would probably say something like people
are born, they live, and then they die. Of course, they aren t wrong, but we humans go through
beautiful stages before reaching death. We go through stages such as infancy, childhood, adolescence,
and adulthood. In many ways, Stars are just like humans. They also go through astonishing stages, all
leading up to its death. The death of a star will probably be one of the most beautiful and terrifying
moments we wont get to witness. But our sun being such a key factor in our everyday life, is reason
enough to know the importance of its life cycle and the process it will undertake as it begins to perish.
But in order to understand how and why a star dies we first must ask ourselves: what exactly makes up
a star?
We might look at the sun and think Hmm, well it just looks like a big ball of fire to me. Good! The sun
is a big ball of fire, but it doesn t burn exactly like fire, it s more a burning glow. This glowing heat,
which is about 10,000 degrees Fahrenheit, is not produced by burning like in a chemical reaction but
rather by fusion like in a nuclear reaction. Now, to understand how the sun enters the final stage of its
life cycle, it is important we fully understand how the sun was created. For humans, one of the earliest

The Most DangerousCharacter Analysis
Picture a ballroom dance, beautiful, elegant, and intriguing. Now remove the dancers from the stage,
and now the stage is empty, dull, and pointless. Much like a story without dynamic characters. In The
Most Dangerous written by Richard Connell, dynamic characters effectively engage the audience. One
character that shows this is Rainsford, a big game hunter lost on a tropical island. On the island he
comes across General Zaroff who is also a hunter, but not in the conventional way. Beatrice (Tris)
from the Divergent series, written by Veronica Roth, is also a great example of a dynamic character
effectively engaging an audience. In post apocalyptic Chicago the society is divided into five factions,

Connell writes, The general was saving him for another day s sport! The Cossack was the cat; he was
the mouse. Then it was that Rainsford knew the full meaning of terror (Connell 34). This quotes
shows Rainsford being terrified by his plight for the first time. The audience is left wondering if
Zaroff s mind games will be Rainsford s Achilles heel. Knowing that Rainsford is a dynamic character
adds suspense because he has to change physically and mentally to survive, and the audience doesn t
know if he is capable of that. If a character doesn t change then the story is predictable and simple.
Dynamic characters are a necessity in creating suspense and engaging an audience. Not only do
dynamic characters create suspense, but they also make for a more complete story. Another way is that
dynamic characters make for a more complete story. Had Beatrice not had been a dynamic character
there would be no story. Once every year all sixteen year olds must select a faction in which they will
dedicate their lives to, and put faction over family. Beatrice must decide staying with her family or be
who she really is. Beatrice is also hiding a life threatening secret. What starts her change is when

Theme Between TheGreat Gatsby And The Truman Dream
The American Dream, a concept of which every American is granted equal opportunity allowing the
highest aspirations to be achieved and every person to live a better, richer and fuller life. Throughout
films The Great Gatsby and The Truman Show directors Baz Luhrman and Peter Weir both depict a
message to society presenting the unfulfilling reality of this pursuit. Both directors present this idea
through the use of stylistic features, film techniques and conventions including setting, costuming,
characterisation, structure, style, camera angles, sound and lighting.
When comparing settings between The Great Gatsby and The Truman Show both films are very
different however both communicate the same idea of the perfect lifestyle of the American dream.
Luhrman uses a wealthy 1920 s lifestyle set in Long Island, New York City, dividing the island into
two areas known as the west egg and the east egg which can also be represented as old money and
new money. In the 1920 s and still to this day Long Island was home of the rich and famous upper
