I know my audience very well in New Mexico and some areas in Arizona, as for the rest of the
world, no, I have no idea. Just getting my work shown in New Mexico will keep me busy for a
while and until I graduate I do not have the time to find out.
My method of editing is very light, I try not to crop, this is why I take 30 to 40 photographs on
one subject matter and I keep the original raw photograph in a file. I have to edit my photographs
in Photoshop because I take my photographs in color, just for that reason, some people like color

fifty eight other New York City (NYC) communities that were assessed: 1) Mott Haven Melrose
ranks fourth for incarcerations. Its 305 incarcerations per 100,000 adults is nearly twice the Bronx
rate and three times the NYC rate, and 2) Mott Haven Melrose ranks seventh for elementary
school absenteeism. Its 31 percent absenteeism rate is over 1.5 times that of the NYC rate (NYC

Causal directionality could not be determined due to the nature of this study. There is question
whether these adolescents had stronger ethnic identity as a result of their experiences with
discrimination or whether they perceived discrimination because they were more outward with their
ethnicity. Both directions are equally plausible. In the first scenario, rejection from the majority
would lead to individuals seeking acceptance from their ethnic group thereby increasing ethnic
identity. In the latter scenario, research has shown that individuals who are highly identified with
their racial/ethnic group tend to be more sensitive to intergroup inequalities and be more prone to
labeling negative encounters as discrimination (Crocker Major, 1989; Sellers Shelton, 2003;
Shelton Sellers, 2000). Furthermore, those highly identifying with their ethnicity may become more
aware of others experience in their group and have more opportunities to hear about those
experiences. Longitudinal studies may clarify the directionality of this relationship by investigating
changes in these variables as time passes.

and ground water. Ground water is dependable for supplying water in rural areas and also in

many river basins are under severe pressure resulting from deforestation, settlements, climate
