Julius Caesar Tragic Figure Quotes
After reading the Tragedy of Julius Caesar, think who best fits the role of a tragic figure
In this play? There are many tragic figures, but the one who stands out the most and who
practically defines the play as a tragedy would be Brutus. In the Tragedy of Julius Caesar,
William Shakespeare portrays Brutus as the tragic figure. Marcus Brutus fits Aristotle s definition
of a tragic figure. Aristotle s definition explains a tragic figure as a [great] man who is neither a
paragon of virtue and justice nor undergoes the change to misfortune through any real badness or
wickedness but because of some mistake.
Aristotle defines a great man as a man of noble birth who is neither a model of perfection nor
totally evil. He defines a mistake or hamartia as a flaw. The great man falls through though not
entirely because of some weakness of character, some moral blindness, or error. Brutus fits this
description, being a highly regarded ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In this quote, Cassius (a conspirator) is referring to Caesar. Cassius is very envious of Caesar
and doesn t think that Caesar should have all of the power because he wants it for himself. This
is also how the rest of the conspirators (aside from Brutus) feel. The conspirators jealousy is their
motivation for wanting Caesar dead. Whether or not Brutus decision to join the conspirators and
their pan for murder is a mistake is debatable. However, it is obvious that the decision is what led
to the misfortune/ fall of Brutus character. Brutus explains to Cassius No, Cassius, no. Think not,
thou noble Roman, that ever Brutus will go bound to Rome; he bears too great a mind. But this
same day must end that work the ides of March begun, (V, I, 112 115). After Caesar s death, Brutus
allows Mark Antony to speak at the funeral, and much to his surprise Antony turns the people of
Rome against Brutus and the other conspirators. This

The Impact Of The Industrial Revolution
The Industrial Revolution was a period in the 18th century in Europe where and emphasis of mass
production using machinery were at a peak due to large numbers of factories and workers. The
Industrial Revolution allowed for innovation to spread rapidly throughout the 18th century in
Britain then throughout the rest of the world. Inventions such as the sewing machine, cotton gin, as
well as the telephone were invented during this time period. Modern society was then able to build
upon the strides made during this time to create the urban metropolises we see today. Without a
period of development for technology, the modern world would possible be in a farm based system
where rural agriculture is prominent as it was prior to machinery. But with speculation there is no
true way to find out what the impact of a world without the Industrial Revolutionwould look like.
Despite goods being made easily and quickly in factories, there were many negatives brought
along with this that tainted the image of the Industrial Revolution. As stated in document 2 the
condition of these factories were poor. Employees had to work in cluttered, unsanitary conditions
for long hours. Despite working for around 15+ hours per day, workers were paid inadequately.
This caused parents to have their children work in these unsanitary factories and mines to help
support the family. This caused for them to be delicate and sickly , but since more income was
coming in, parents around Europe has more kids

The Importance Of Censorship Of Music
Music is a form of art. An art that has been around ever since the beginning of time. It is arguably
considered to be the universal language of this world. Music is what connects the hearts and
feelings of one another regardless of race, color, and religious backgrounds. Art is used to express
oneself. It also has the power to motivate and influence others. Throughout the years, music has
evolved and transformed in many ways. However, there are restrictions in today s music, otherwise
known as, censorships. There is a large crisis occurring regarding these censorships. This argument
consists of two possible stances: one, supporting the continuation of the censorshipof music, and
two, eliminating the status quo of censorships in the music industry. There have been countless
debates and arguments regarding the issues of censorship since 1927 when the U.S. Congress
passed the Radio Act (The History). The time has come for the censored in today s music to be
disable. The government should release their grip on the censorship of music for the following
reasons: censorship restricts an artist s ability to convey his or her message toward the listeners, it
limits an artist s capacity for creativity, and it diminishes the audience s appreciation of the content
in the music.
First of all, the concept of censorships severely limits an artist s ability to fully express his or
herself through the art of music. Musicians typically sing about their values and issues. For this
reason,

The City Of Glass Language Analysis
Throughout the class we have developed a clear understanding of the concise list of themes and
structures typically found in metaphysical detective stories. Merivale and Sweeney in their
introduction to Detecting Texts offer a clear and concise list of themes and structures characteristic
of the metaphysical detective story. They are: 1. the defeated sleuth, whether he be an armchair
detective or a private eye; 2. the world, city, or text as labyrinth; 3. the purloined letter, embedded
text, mise en abyme, textual constraint, or text as object; 4. the ambiguity, ubiquity, eerie
meaningfulness, or sheer meaninglessness... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The detective fails to solve the crime, but also confronts insoluble mysteries of interpretation and
identity. In these types of mysteries, detectives don t believe in coincidences and believe every
little thing has potential meaning to solving the case. Anything may be connected to anything else
if the detective, and the reader, chooses. Opposite of traditional, straightforward detective stories,
the metaphysical detective stories find a complex and deceptive mystery where the detective
becomes intertwined in a very complex case. The detectives in metaphysical detective stories lose
their stable position within their world. They often identify themselves with the object of their
pursuit, almost to the point of giving up their own identity as in Auster s City of Glass and
suggested by Poe in, Man of the Crowd. For example, Edgar Allan Poe s The Man of the Crowd
features a character that decides to follow a man because he thinks the man has a horrible secret.
His quest to find the man through the labyrinth of the city streets is unsuccessful. Leaving the man,
narrator, and the reader without a permanent ending, left to try and solve the case and predict the

Summary Of The Little Albert Experiment
Reading the Little Albert experiment, I found it to be very entertaining. John B. Watson was a
behaviorist whom headed out an famous psychology experiment with a graduate student named
Rosalie Raynor. Apparently the goal of their experiment was to demonstrate if it was possible to
manifest a fear reaction. The fear reaction would be to a previously neutral stimuli through
experience . In order to show their experiment they used a nine month old baby boy from the
hospital. This child was waiting to be adopted. The baby name was Albert which is where the
Little Albert experiment name came from. Therefore, Watson and Rayner wanted to make sure
that their fear producing stimuli would work on baby Albert. The first thing they tried was
removing support that consisted of pulling on the blanket Albert was lying. They wanted to pull
this out from underneath him. This did nothing but upset Albert. He s a tough fellow. I would not
want anyone yanking anything from under me. Next they decided to test a loud noise as the fear
stimulus. They did this by banging a steel bar with a hammer. Once again this made Albert very
upset and the poor baby started to cry. However, this made Watson and Rayer ready to begin their
conditioning experiment with baby Albert. They exposed the baby boy to a series of stimuli. This
included a white rat, a monkey and a rabbit to observe the baby boy reaction. Amazingly enough
Watson and Rayner received no reaction from him.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Why Do More Weekend Activities Are Necessary
Why More Weekend Activities are Necessary
When walking around campus on the weekends, whether the weather is nice or not, you
encounter very few people if any. You can t help wondering where everyone is. You ponder
maybe they went home or they are going off campus with their friends to go to the mall or party.
It is not beneficial that numerous people leave campus on the weekends. If students stay on
campus, they are cooped up in their dorm rooms all day not wanting to leave. A major aspect of
college besides acquiring an education is getting to be social and connect with your school and
the people around you. That is not even possible, despite the fact that you hardly ever run across a
good deal of people. The fact is, Walsh University does not provide nearly enough weekend
activities to keep students on campus. Weekend activities need to be provided not only for the social
aspect, but for an abundance of more reasons. Students can be creative and relieve some of their
weeks stress through activities. Furthermore, students can obtain some physical activity or even
learn some leadership skills. Having a movie night each Friday night, hosting parties that don t
involve alcohol, or even putting on a Dodgeball tournament in the gym, can help keep students on
campus. Providing more activities will help keep students on campus and involved; in view of the
fact that, then there will be activities to do and they will be kept busy while having fun. Walsh

The Concept of MSA
LITERATURE SURVEY
The concept of MSAs was first proposed by Deschamps in 1953. A patent were issued in France in
1955 in the names of Gutton and Baissinor. After the 1970, the research publications started to flow
within the appearances of the first design equation. Since the, different authors started investigation
on microstrip patch antennas like James hall, David M. Pozars and there are also some who
contributed a lot. Throughout the years, the authors has dedicated there investigations to create a
new designs or variations to the original antenna that, to some extent; produce either the wider
bandwidth or the multiple frequency operation with in a single element. However most of these
innovations bear some disadvantages related to size, height, width or overall volume of the single
element and the improvement in the bandwidth suffers usually from degradation the other
characteristics. Line feeding technique of microstrip antenna are also attracted researchers because
of several advantages over other feeding techniques. Since the feed layout and patches could be
etched on one board, it could makes the fabrication easier. The level of the input impedance are
easily controllable. Line patches of microstrip had bandwidth and gain characteristics which is
relatively narrow. These techniques are also suffers from poor surface wave efficiency and the
relatively high spurious feed radiation .
In 1987, the Rigorous Analysis of a Microstrip line Fed Patch Antennaare

Self Driving Cars Are Becoming Realistic And Reliable
Technology is everywhere around us, it lead to many useful creations such as computers,
cellphones, airplanes, televisions and many more. Technology created many ways for people to
move from one place to another, like the metro, bus, train, bicycles and cars. They are the most
common transportation tools used by the people who live in big cities. Science is trying to take it
a step further by making the car driverless. Self drivingcars are becoming realistic and reliable,
since it is developed by many big companies competing with each other for being the first to
release it for sale. Big corporations competing with each other are great for the progression of the
self driving cars, because they will all try to make the better one compared to other companies and
if they make it, the potential is absolutely insane.
The first autonomous driving ever achieved was around 10000 B.C., when the first horse rider
got onto a horse s back and rode on it without directing it to any direction. Although this
technology rarely achieved the goal of arriving at a target destination, for 11980 years, this was
the only form of autonomous driving humankind could get. This is the earliest traces of the
autonomous found. The second earliest was a Mercedes Benz team making a van drive itself on
empty streets at the speed of 100km per hour. After that, they achieved a autonomous driving on its
own for 1600km. Challenges from DARPA (Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency) spread
this idea and

Characteristics Of Saturated Fats
Saturated fats include nuts, and in a recent study not only were nuts a good source of saturated
fat, but they were also proven to improve lipid profile of inflammatory biomarkers. Participants
from cohort studies has high risk for cardiac disease, but those who had a higher consumption of
nuts and exercised consistently were more likely to have lower c reactive protein and IL 6
concentrations (5). They ate higher amount of nuts because they replaced red meats, processed
meats, and refined grains with nuts. This reduced their risk of getting heart disease because their
overall state of inflammation was reduced, and chronic low grade inflammation is known for being
a culprit in all phases of atherosclerosis. The studies strengths were that... Show more content on

There was another study that studied if a Mediterranean diet could decrease inflammation and
improve one s heart health. In this study, inflammation caused by diet and telomere length were
evaluated with those who have a high risk of heart disease. With the use of the dietary
inflammatory index, they looked to see the association between diet related inflammation and
telomere length. Telomere length affects how our cells age, and if they shorten, then it will shorten
one s life as well as makine one more susceptible to disease. This study was a cross sectional and
longitudinal study that resulted in a consistent beneficial effect with aging and health when
consuming a anti inflammatory diet (7). The beneficial effects were that it changed their telomere
length. Anti inflammatory diets they included were Mediterranean diets supplemented with olive
oil, and Mediterranean diets supplemented with mixed nuts. The control group was on a low fat
diet. This study also showed that a proinflammatory diet can affect a person telomere length by
drastically shortening it (7). More specifically, proinflammatory foods include fried foods, refined
carbohydrates, and sugar and anti inflammatory foods include vegetables like kale/spinach, fruits
like tomatoes/blueberries, fatty fish, and nuts.
Unlike with inflammation, there are more diets proven to improve hypertension. In this specific
study 3 different diets were given to participants who had hypertension and

Robobee Research Paper
Artificial pollination of crops could be the alternative solution to the dwindling populations of
pollinator insects.
Over the years, the population of butterflies, bees, and other crop pollinators has been on a rapid
decline, risking the production of global food supplies. There are now lesser insects compared to
several years ago, mainly due to climate change, human activity and other practices that destroy the
insect s environment.
Farmers are using a few artificial pollination methods in controlled areas such as the greenhouses.
These include mechanically shaking the plants, hand pollination, or other non convention crop
pollination methods instead of relying on the traditionally known natural bees. Some of these
agricultural methods ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The miniature flying robot has the ability to lift off, hover and perch. In addition, the artificial
insects can swim in water, as well as fly through dust and wind.
The artificial bees are available in different models and sizes, with the smallest bee weighing just
84mg, hence lighter than the real bee. The smallest Robobee model is capable of flapping its wings
120 times per second. The artificial insects can sense their surroundings and also communicate with
one another.
Robobee in rescue missions
The Robobee was initially designed for the artificial crop pollination; however, the bees can be
used for other applications such as search and rescue missions in areas where larger robots cannot
fit. By communicating with each other, the robobees in a swarm will relay the information through
each other back to the control without having to wait for the particular robot to get back. This
means that the information from the field reaches the control room faster compared to the time a
single robot would take to take back the information.
The robobees are still in development stages, but so far Laboratory results seem promising.
However, there are several challenges such as power and communication issues to address before
insects become commercially available. Once these and other issues are sorted out, we will soon
have the Robobees performing artificial pollination, environmental monitoring and rescue

Labor Law Whistle Blowing Dillema Essay
Labor Law Whistle Blowing Dillema Labor relations today, are quite different from those that
existed in England during the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries when employment relationships
were considered of very little importance in the eyes of the law. Industrialization and commerce
grew bringing with it the birth of modem day labor law. America was in no way exempt from the
pain of progress. Employer and employee relationships were strained from the very beginning of
labor, and it soon was evident that government intervention would be necessary to keep the labor
movement on track. Several statues have been enacted since the early nineteenth century to deal
with management and unions. Evidence can be seen from the Norris La... Show more content on

(2) The active whistle blower describes employees that voice their concerns over illegal activity
conducted by their employer, and take steps either internally or externally to expose such activity.
The active whistle blower usually creates the most controversy because this person is under the
employ of the people or organization who are the object of the complaint (Westman 21). (3) The
embryonic whistle blower describes employees who have been terminated before they have the
opportunity to expose their employers practices. These employees are usually terminated because
the employer suspects that they represent a potentially sensitive or unfavorable predicament
(Westman 22). The various forms of retribution that whistle blowers endure at the hands of
employers both financially and psychologically for attempting to correct mismanagement, fraud,
and dishonesty are often too much for the whistle blower to bear. Careers are in jeopardy because
individuals with strong ethics decide to pursue law suits against their employers. One example is
where the US Forest Service employees found their careers ruined by either demotions or loss of
jobs when caught speaking out in favor of the environment or sound science, or when

The Most Important Thing You Remember About A Thesis...
The most important thing to remember about a thesis statement is it gives the reader your
opinion and you are entitled to your opinion. You are also giving the reader a new article to read
and allow them to give feedback if necessary. This isn t new to me, for I ve done a thesis
statement before and received good feedback from fellow classmates. What s different is all of us
were focused on once topic and had to come up with our own thesis on that assigned topic. It
worked out well.
Thesis Statement Number 1: Judging A Book by the Cover
People who jump to conclusions without prior knowledge should be aware of people s feelings
and not make a big deal about it. It causes personal problems and judging can take a toll on people
who are sensitive and want honest opinions. Today, there a re more than seven billion people in
the world. Each and everyone of them are human and have a mind. They are entitled to their
own opinion and have every right to express themselves. The hard truth is their opinion can be
taken to a new level and be considered judging. Judging, or looking done on someone, is
expressing how you feel about a topic in a negative manner. Whether is an artist s book, an
authors book or a plate of food. These things are judge without any knowledge. Judging mainly
goes to people s appearance, personality and interests. For example, a man named John looks down
upon another man named Abel, even though John doesn t know Abel. This is a ridiculous

How Did Nero Influence Rome
Emperor Nero was the most detrimental emperor to Rome. He burned Rome so he could build
Rome as he imagined it, he blamed the fire on the Christians, and he persecuted the Christians.
Those are the acts that have been proven to be done by him that have affected Rome the most. He
has also done some despicable things to become and stay emperor. Emperor Neroruled Rome from
54 AD to 68 AD. He was originally named Lucius Domitius Ahenobarbus, but his name was
changed to Nero in 49 AD when Lucius s mother Agrippina married Emperor Claudius. Historians
have read that Nero s fate was inevitable. His real father, Gnaeus Domitius, who died when Nero
was three, was extremely violent. It is written that Gnaeus once deliberately ran over a young
boy with his chariot as he drove through a local village. When his friends congratulated him upon
hearing of the birth of his son, Nero s father said that anything born to Agrippina and him would
be unlikeable and a disaster. Because of these traits in Nero s father, the people knew that hardly
any good could come out of it. The people of Rome were right.
One of the most despicable manifestations of human flesh ever to disgrace this planet was Nero
Claudius Caesar. Born in A.D. 37, Nero was educated at the feet of the philosopher Seneca (whom
he eventually forced to commit suicide). Nero murdered his way to the imperial throne, which he
occupied from A.D. 54 68. His life was characterized by debauchery, violence (he caused his own

The Aspects Of Roman Life Regarding Music
The feelings that the Ancient Romans had towards music could be described as ambivalent. They
admired it and at the same time, they condemned it. Music, nevertheless, played a role in Roman
society that, as time passed, became less and less important to the Romans. As a result, much of the
information about music in Ancient Romehas been lost in time. However what has been discovered
about this topic is quite fascinating, in spite of what it is lacking. The subsequent paragraphs will
explain some of the aspects of Roman life regarding music. This includes the history of music in
Ancient Rome, the instruments that the Romans played, the uses of music in their society and the
impact that music in Rome has had on the music of today. The Romans were not the most
innovative of ancient cultures when it came to music, as it wasn t held to the same importance in
Rome as it was in other cultures. Regardless, the Romans did very much enjoy music and admire its
use in other cultures. And so, instead of creating a Roman version of music, they borrowed the
musical instruments and musical theory from those other cultures. One of them was Etruscans.
Though the fact that the Etruscans had an impact on music in Rome is known, the magnitude of
that impact is unknown, but instruments used in Roman life such as the tuba and the cornu are
believed to have been borrowed from the Etruscans. However, it was the Greeks that had the
greatest influence on Roman music. A multitude of instruments used

Klastorin (2004, p.72 73) mention that many studies conducted to find out relationship between
organizational structure and the impact on project outcome. One of them is project matrix,
where project managers have fully and directly authority on managing project. Here, project
manager s role now involves 50% tactic and understanding situation, 40% administration and
only 10% technical application. As soon as project is defined, project manager would be
appointed to conduct some first tasks, such as meeting client, preparing budget, schedule, and
ensuring proper facilities are available (Meredith et al, 2003, p.118). Meredith et al also
mentioned that the most attributes, skills, quality when selecting project manager are strong
technical knowledge, able to manage risk, resolve conflict, keep project moving and especially
the one who can get the job done (2003, p. 140). Then a support team will be created. They are
usually staff in this organization and are experts in this specific project. If not, the project would
beyond their ability. As results, team could not accomplish goals inevitably. Taking a failure

technical requirements for developing and maintaining a virtual fence across a long border. It was

Investigating And Determine Compatible Naturally Based...
The objective of this project is to investigate and determine compatible naturally based elements that
can potentially replace and be integrated into the bone tissue, for medical purposes. These elements
should be similar in characteristic and structure of the bone tissue, so that they can effectively
replace the tissue and help stimulate bonegrowth and cellular growth, in order to maintain bone
homeostasis. In order to achieve compatibility, factors such as 3 D polymeric structures within bone
scaffolding, cellular composition and many other aspects should be considered within all these
plausible elements.
After finding potential candidates for replacements of bone tissue, each element will be organized
based on their compatibility and traits that make them suited for implementation. Based on the
comparison of materials, we found that the bamboo was the most suitable candidate for the
implementation based on it s biocompatibility potential, biodegradability potential and mechanical
integrity.

Examples Of Isolation In To Kill A Mockingbird
According to dictionary.com, the definition of the word isolate is to set or place apart; detach or

larger society, like in the modern world, but in some situations it is better to be isolated, like in To

That surprise me that he didn t had a problem with black. This is how racism has start in this

How Did Monarchs Influence The Tudor Period
From nine days to forty five years, the reigns of the monarchs during the Tudor period were
different and impactful. This period in England between 1485 and 1603 was home to many of
the great monarchs, nobles, and civilians of the world. The monarchs in Tudor England shaped
the period that is known so well today for its culture and power. They controlled the religion,
military, and culture in a way that was unrivaled by anyone in their time. The monarchs shaped the
Tudor period into a time remembered for culture, war, and religion in a way that nobles and
civilians could not match. The Tudor period of England was home to many monarchs that each

Marijuana And Other Narcotic Drugs
Marijuana and other narcotic drugs have been a controversial topic on a national and global scale
throughout the century. Marijuana especially is considered a drug that s harmful and helpful at the
same time. People have formed opinions about different drugs based upon their observations and
the scientific research that has been shared with the public from different experimental
organizations. We have had picketers demonstrate their support by protesting for the marijuana
movement, which can be seen in today s news by photos taken of their picketing. And we have
seen an increase in our law enforcement, who has tried to enforce laws imposed against all drugs

Marijuana can be widely found and be easily grown in the United States. The easy accessibility
of drugs poses a serious threat to law enforcement around the country that have and has tried to
enforce the law to eradicate the use of drugs according to laws put into place by the legislature
and supposedly most of the people in that state. Marijuana is still illegal in some states and as time
progresses the number of states which can still uphold that marijuana is illegal has changed. Today,
Twenty three states and the District of Columbia currently have laws legalizing marijuana in some
form or way out of the fifty two states of the Union. The increase in marijuana and other drugs
being used in that state has its ties to narcotic crime which could be linked to the cartel for other
drugs that are out there. Thus, it increases narcotic crime in those states that choose to legalize it.
Another con of marijuana and of other dangerous drug use is the most obvious. It s the health of the
individual who consumes it by smoking it. Your lungs are inhaling substances such as tar and it is
among other things that can affect your breathing. According to the American Lung Association,
Smoking marijuana clearly damages the human lung, and regular use leads to chronic bronchitis
and can cause an immune compromised person to be more susceptible to lung infections. No one

CleпїЅfilas s Woman Hollering Creek
Woman Hollering Creek, a short story by Sandra Cisneros, tells of CleГіfilas, a Mexican woman,
brought to the U.S. as a young bride. During her brief marriage to Juan Pedro, CleГіfilas must
confront her changing beliefs about marriage and love. CleГіfilas fantasizes about marriage as a
passionate love affair, but instead finds her own marriageto be mundane, restrictive, and at times
violent, finally discovering her strength to escape and return to Mexico. As a young girl, much of
CleГіfilas ideas of marriage are based upon what she sees on television. She yearns for passion in
its purest crystalline essence. The kind books and songs and telenovas describe when one finds,
finally, the great loveof one s life, and does whatever one can, must do, at whatever the cost (2772).
She sees love as an ideal that can withstand every hardship of life and worth whatever cost she must
pay. There is only one great love for her and she thinks, to suffer for love is good. The pain all
sweet somehow. In the end (2773). She also has visions of what life in the U.S. will be for her as a
married woman. Even the name of the town she moves to gives her fantasies as she thinks, SeguГn,

Essay On Health Care In America
Health care in America has been a challenging topic to address, dating back to the 1900s.
Politicians, businesses and citizens of this country all differ in their perception of how health care
in America should operate. In 2010 the Affordable Care Act was passed to help set the foundation
for a comprehensive health care system aiming to provide insurance to those in need. In this article
we will briefly digest through the history of the American health care system, the rising of the
Affordable Care Act, its pros, its cons and the impacts, the Act, has had on large corporations and
employees. To understand the present state of health care in America we must first understand its
past. In the early 1900s, the limits of medical science restricted the amount that doctors could

Global Flow of Silver Dbq Essays
The global flow of silver managed to redefine the social structure in many societies, as well as
dramatically altered the basis of the economy in many European and Asian countries. Despite the
economic change that came from the mass production of silver and its use as a standard currency,
the growth of the silverindustry brought as much change socially and culturally as it brought
economic transformation. Many people viewed the conversion to silver being the standardized
currency as a huge hindrance to their daily lives, but the silver industry brought wealthto many

Documents 3,5,6, 7 and 8 all mention how the economy changed dramatically due to the arrival
and growth of silver as a currency. In document 3, a Ming dynasty court official writes about
how the silver coin is hard to come by because the government is hoarding all of it. They take
silver for taxes but do not redistribute it to the people. He is writing this because he is trying to
convince the emperor to distribute the silver more appropriately to the people, and because his
family is obviously not doing well financially. He is a court official who most likely has small
influence in the government and writes in hopes of getting the emperor to consider spreading the
wealth to the lower classes of China, to save his family, and other families like his. Document 5
expresses a different, but somewhat related view about how silver has become a hindrance to
regular business interactions, because customers can no longer trade items of their own to
purchase goods, they have to go through a lengthy process to pay everything in silver. Document 6
shows a counter point of view about the wealth that the mining of silver has brought to Spain.
Document 7 is a report written to convince the emperor of China that there is much wealth to be
found in foreign trade, because of how much silver some countries will pay for Chinese goods.
Finally, document 8 examines how European countries are able to purchase Asian commodities

Abstract
Fiji, Dasani, Zephyrhills
In my project I put different brands of water into identical cups and ask my participants to put
them in order from best to worst after trying each one. I hope to learn if manufacturing water a
different way affects the taste of the water. I wanted to do this project, because when you think
about water you don t think about different kinds of water so this project opens your mind to just a
daily need.
Fiji Water. Fiji water is a popular brand of water that takes a specific process. The water is from
rain that has been filtered through layers of volcanic rock and slowly gathering the natural
minerals and electrolytes that give Fiji water a soft, smooth taste. (Fiji Water official website)
After being filtered the water gathers in a natural artesian aquifer that is deeply underground in the
Fiji Islands so the water won t be contaminated with elements. The rainfalls are also purified by the
winds that travel across the Island, because unlike most winds these don t carry any acid rain and
environmental pollutants (https://www.leaf.tv/articles/facts about fiji water/). It is never touched
by human hands, which shows that Fiji s water is clean and stays clean because bacteria from
hands is never transferred to the water. Fiji s Nutritional Label says it s 93mg of silica per liter,
18mg of calcium per liter, 15mg of magnesium per liter, 152mg of salt. This all adds to a pH of 7.7,
which means Fiji water is filled with oxygen (altered states.net). The human body is suppose to

Characteristics Of Confucius On Good Government
The historical period Confucius on Good Government was written during the period of the first
century B.C until the 20th century B.C. Confucius on good government was a source that
centralized on the beliefs and thoughts of Confucius. Confucius argued that only good men
possessing moral authority could rule effectively. It was said that human nature is not perfect,
but it is capable of being changed by example of sincere virtue. He wanted it to be known to all
people that if your desire is for good, the people will be good. Confucius believed that if laws and
guidelines were set in place that every person during this time should follow them. If a person didn

Confucius. This source was written on September 28, 551 B.C 479 B.C. The author may have

which is only achieved by a ritual behavior of good man, pursing their education and self

Beauty And The Beast In Being There And The Bloody Chamber
In the novels Being There and The Bloody Chamber there are several examples of characters
constantly changing throughout the telling of the novel. Many of the characters of The Bloody
Chamber are creatures who are half human and half beast, or else undergo some change from
beast to human or vice versa. In Being There, we see Chance transform from a simple gardener
to a man who is respected and loved by the whole country seemingly in a blink of an eye.
Transformation revealing some idea of truth is a common theme of folk and fairy tales. In the
original Beauty and the Beast the creature is rescued by the goodness of a true woman who
restores him to his handsome self. Carter s two retellings of the tale offer something quite
different. Mr. Lyon loses his attractive and powerful animal qualities and ends up looking
unkempt ( The Courtship of Mr. Lyon , p. 54). In The Tiger s Bride it is not The Beast, but
Beauty who is transformed. Having dispatched her replica to the real world of her father, she is
free to shed all the skins of a life in the world (p. 75) and become a beast herself. Carter inverts
the traditional transformation from beast to human and its symbolism. To be beast like is to be
virtuous; to become manly is to be vicious. The Snow Child offers a different view on
metamorphosis: a wish can become reality, but can just as easily be wished away. The transitory
nature of male desire is emphasized by the melting away of the child: Soon there was nothing

Cyrano De Bergerac By Edmond Rostand
The play Cyrano de Bergerac, written by Edmond Rostand, was written based on the life of the
real Cyrano de Bergerac. Even so, the setting of the story itself contributed greatly to the character
Cyrano de Bergerac and the development of the story itself. Overall, the play has very specific
stage directions and gives a very detailed description of the setting for every scene. This helps the
characterdevelop as the story continues, while also giving background and mood to that scene in
which it describes. For example, things like the season being autumn in act five, stage directions
stating the green lawn has turned red (Rostand 199) and spots of darker color formed by box
shrubs (Rostand 199) showing how death is coming. It is being represented by the falling leaves
and its change in color. The setting of the play also gives cultural background to the society in that

Overall, setting contributes greatly to the play. One aspect that the setting contributes greatly to is
the characters within the play. One character that setting contributes greatly to in this play is

The Impact Of Gold On The City Of Potosi
The Impact of Silver
The city of Potosi, which is now modern day Bolivia, was once a vast mining town located in the

mountain contained enormous amounts of silver that then created many opportunities for many

large enough that it was comparing to that of cities like London and Amsterdam. This great

When I was learning English, I used to watch lots of English movies, and Korean dramas. When I
completed upper intermediate levels in English, I started teaching in a language academy in
Kabul. During my teaching experience at that academy, there was a colleague of mine who was
also too interested in Korean language. Korean language was certainly totally different from
English and Urdu, but somehow we are able to communicate with each other in Urdu. The funny
thing was that the others were not able to understand us, when we told jokes in Korean. Since I
knew Korean a bit, I was invited to the Korean Embassy to study a one month Korean language
course for free. I went there to study Korean and later the Embassy employed me for an

USNA Summer STEM Program
I am interested in attending the USNA summer STEM program because I have the desire to one
day attend the United States Naval Academy and for my love of science, biology in particular. I
believe that gaining the exposure to the academy s campus and the various STEM activities
provided will cause me to become even more determined in reaching my goals. I also bring the
aspect of military lifestyle and the long term future goal of becoming an officer in the United
States Navy into my reason of interest in the program. I would be very proud and honored to
graduate from the academy and go on to serve in the United States Navy, fighting for, and retaining
the freedom many before me have fought to gain and protect. In potentially increasing my

From the 1920 s up until his death Joseph Stalin was the leader of Russia. What ensued under
Stalin s reign didn t evoke emotions of love for country within the Russian people. Under Stalin
the people lived in constant fear because of an epidemic within their own country, genocide of
Stalin s own people by Stalin himself. From 1934 up until 1939 a period of mass fear swept over
Russia and at the helm Stalin with his (helpers?) of mass killings, the NKVD which are the
internal police. Russia has always had a form state security service commonly thought of now as

were terrified of him also had to praise him; Stalin s grasp over Russia was so strong that

what he felt would create unity (BBC). The Soviet Union has always had a form of inner

The Scottish Referendum For Independence
Abstract
The question I seek to answer in this essay is whether the Scottish Referendum for Independence
from 18th September 2014 (hereafter referred as the 2014 Referendum ) was indeed a process
that can give account to legitimacy. This essay will look at legitimacy as being a moral claim set
by our own culture. It will also explore the meaning of overall legitimacy of the 2014 Referendum
and if individual claims of citizens are in conflict with it. Furthermore, it will argued that the
political discourse of Alex Salmond and of the Scottish National Party as a whole, was detrimental
to the Scottish civil society as it facilitated its division.
Scope of the question and its delimitation
This essay will solely give an account of the relatively of the 2014 Referendum s legitimacy and
will show that through non relative arguments coming from the SNP political discourse, the overall
legitimacy of the 2014 Referendum provides a prescriptive account on the devolution in so far. A
notion that will not be addressed by this essay is represented by the impact of the Scottish
referendum for independence on countries such as Spain and the states from the former Republic of
Yugoslavia.
Disposition of the essay
In what follows a background of the referendum will be presented. Afterwards, it shall be argued
that the entire process for establishing the 2014 Referendum cannot be seen as a democratic one,
as it is was induced by the Yes Campaign consequently is logically flawed.

Factors That Affect Sexual Orientation
Factors of Sexual Orientation

Abstract
What does it mean to be a woman or a man? What is it that influences us as individuals to live as
a man or as woman as well have the feelings of attraction to someone else? Furthermore, what is
it that influences us to have those feeling to someone of the same sex? What does this all mean?
Approximately 100 years ago a German physician by the name of Magnus Hirschfeld suggest that
the brain of a fetus could possibly show early signs of whether or not a person would be of
homosexual or heterosexual nature when they became an adult. Can testing and research really tell
us how our innermost thoughts and feeling lead up to a preference of Sexual Orientation?
Major changes took place in the early 19th century when homosexuality started to be looked at in a
different light. Homosexuality started to be looked at and considered as part of nature. Up to this
point the idea of homosexuality was considered wrong in many cultures as well as a punishable
crime in some cases. Even though in ancient Greece the practice of homosexuality was accepted
from a very young age, it was considered out of the norm outside of that culture. Through numerous
research articles the question, what factors influence sexual orientation in male and females is
studied.
The research studied comes from research journal articles that have been published in the Journal of
psychology and sociology.

reservations. Even today, these reservations are still rife with poverty, unemployment, and crime
they re essentially little third world islands scattered all across the U.S. and Canada . It seems
that the reservation is full of undesirable people that no one wants to deal with. While Junior still
present at Willpinit, the school inside the reservation, one of his educators, Mr. P, begins to get
upset about the increasing poverty in the reservation and ends up plainly irate towards the
Indians for surrendering: Every white person on this rez should get smashed in the face... All
Indians should get smashed in the face, too. The only thing you [Indian] kids are being taught is
how to give up... [All members of the rez] are defeated... But not you. You won t give up. (Alexie,

Essay on A Summary of Bram Stoker s Dracula
A Summary of Bram Stoker s Dracula
Dracula is an epistolary novel, meaning that is composed from letters, journal and diary entries,
telegrams, and newspaper clippings.
Jonathan Harker, Mina Murray (later Mina Harker), and Dr. Seward write the largest contributions
to the novel although the writings of Lucy
Westenra and Abraham Van Helsingconstitute some key parts of the book. The novel has a slightly
journalistic feel, as it is a harrowing account supposedly written by the people who witnessed the
book s events. A young Englishman named Jonathan Harker travels through Transylvania on a
business trip. He is there to aid Count Dracula, a Transylvanian nobleman, in buying an English
estate. His journey into the remote ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Eerie things happen one night, Mina finds her unconscious in the cemetery, as a figure with
glowing eyes bends over her. The figure disappears as Mina comes closer, but night after night
strange events continue and Lucy grows thinner and paler with each passing day.
Word comes from Budapest that Jonathan has been found, sick with brain fever. He can remember
nothing of his travels in Transylvania. Mina goes to nurse him back to health and to help him make
the trip back to
England. When she arrives, they marry immediately. He gives her his diary but is afraid to read
it; she seals the diary and promises that she will never read it unless it is for his sake.
Back in England, Lucy has returned to her home in London. Arthur, fearful for her health, asks
Dr. Seward to try to figure out what is wrong with her. Seward is baffled by her illness, and calls
in the aid of his old mentor, the brilliant Professor Abraham Van Helsing. Van
Helsing seems to know from the beginning what he might be up against.
He tries to use various charms, as well as constant blood transfusions, to keep Lucy alive. Again
and again, his attempts are thwarted by a mixture of Dracula s cunning and bad luck. Lucy s
mother is killed by a heart attack during one of Dracula s more dramatic plots to get to Lucy, and
Lucy dies a few days later. Arthur s father dies at about this time. Van

Teens And Teen Pregnancy
As us females were young we all seem to become mothers, by playing with dolls, and playing
house with others our age. It may be easy for us to say that as children we thought they needed
some assistance, but in reality that was only our imagination. As little kids did we really think
about what it would be like to really have a baby? We were children, but see the thing here is that
teens are still children who are having other children. 16 year olds do not just wake up thinking
they want to have a baby, most of the time it just happens without being planned. Teens often do
not think about what life would be like as a parent which is easy to happen and we should be
informed on the reasons why and what it really is like. The first reason why a girl can easily get
pregnant is not being informed about contraceptives. There are about 1,700 school based health
centers nationwide in which about в…“ provide contraceptives. Sexual education is very
important when it comes to this, there are states that still require parents to sign off their children
receiving any sexual education in schools, in which many of the cases the parents and their kids
are too embarrassed to talk about. Although it is the parent s responsibility to talk about it, they do
not. When a teen is sexually active, it is important for them to let a parent know, so that they can
get checked. Another possible reason can be unwanted sex. According to Teenhelp.com four in ten
girls first experience happens at age 13

The Talented Tenth, By Booker T. Washington
Comparing Industrial Education for the Negro and The Talented Tenth
In Industrial Education for the Negro, Booker T. Washington discusses the importance of skill
over education. In the beginning of his article, he emphasizes the importance of skills such as
working and farming to move up in the world, not just unnecessary knowledge learned in school.
He then moves along to refresh the slavery our country partook in. He writes about his life in the
deep south and his background experience with slavery and its effects. He uses personal hardships
to describe that the slaves education was not developed at the same rate as their physical training,
and they are still falling behind because of it. Washington s purpose is not only to identify ... Show

He emphasizes this by stating this is the curriculum of that Higher Education which must underlie
true life. On this foundation we may build bread winning, skill of hand and quickness of brain

specialty skill. He states They do not put into their hands the tools they are best fitted to use, and
hence so many failures (Washington). Washington s view on education differs from DuBois
because he believes education should be geared towards the kind of work the negro will be

For example, if River Island were to expand their business, this would be a threat to Topshop and
would force them to expand further or change their ideas.
Consumers
Consumers have the ability to change the companies verdicts and ideas, as the customers are the
vital aspect to sales. Topshop have to continuously research the customers desires and progress their
products to best suit their needs throughout the future. Topshops organisation have to monitor five
different key markets to adapt their products and services for the consumers. Topshop have to study:
Consumer markets, resellers, corporate markets, administration markets and worldwide markets. As
the consumers needs and wants are changing endlessly, the demand for Topshops research and
knowledge have to be an on going process.
Suppliers
Topshops performance is evidently heavily impacted by the actions of the suppliers, whether this
is a strength or weakness for the company. The organisation has to repeatedly monitor the actions
of the suppliers, thus will enable them to be prepared for any surprises coming their way.
Topshops suppliers have an effect on their actions as, for example, if the supplier delivers a
reduced facility to the company, the delivery to the stores would be increased and the product
quality could be decreased. Topshop have to ensure a strong relationship bond with the suppliers to
enable a successful and more trustworthy service in which the company have.

The Strategic Advantage Of Technology
Historically, strategists have overestimated the strategic advantage of technology. Gray noted that
Lieutenant General Rudolf von Caemmerer, a renowned German strategist during the early 20th
Century, over valued the impact of the telegraph, when in 1905, he wrote, However much the
enemy may have succeeded in placing himself between our armies, we can still amply
communicate...over an arc of a hundred or two hundred or four hundred miles . While the
telegraph indeed helped mitigate the tyranny of distance between armies stretched across Europe, it
also created a dangerous reliance that diminished focus on dealing with the real fog and friction of
war. In the end, the German Army in 1914, relying violently on the telegraph, was unable... Show

This reliance on technology to defeat the Improvised Explosive Device (IED) threat has effectively
crippled mobility, creating one of the slowest forces in the modern era. Chris Lowe from Small War
Journals states, The MRAP has yet to prove its place in future service equipment plans. The gas
guzzling MRAP could impose a strain on logistics...and could run counter to the intent of
counterinsurgency doctrine, which stresses close contact with the population (Small War Journals).
Both examples highlight that reliance on technology as a ways versus a means can hinder military
forces against an irregular enemy threat. Looking at the even more recent NATO campaign
against the Moammar Gadhafi led Libyan government, it is obvious that strategy is being
created around technology, rather than technology being nested into strategy. In Libya, the
might of air power was the technology around which the strategy was developed. NATO leaders
argued that bombing the Libyan Army would clear the way for anti Gadhafi forces, which
would lead to an overthrow and a more pro Coalition government. Oren Dorell of USA Today says,
The strategy in Libya in 2011 was for a U.S. led NATO air campaign to reinforce Libyan rebels,
with NATO forces partnering with moderate rebel groups to create a more stable Libya. In the end,

Relatively, how much more? The well water from Wilton has a larger amount of Ca 2+/Mg 2+
compared to the Elk Grove tap water. Relatively, it s approximately twice harder because 28
drops of EDTA is added to Wilton well water in order to make it turns blue while it only take 16
drops to changes color of Elk Grove tap water. 2) EDTA is often added to shampoo. Can you
suggest why? EDTA is added to shampoo to take away the calcium and magnesium that exists.
The shampoo will then lather and creates more bubbles; that s greater to bathe in. 3) Pots and pans
used for boiling water often develop a coating of scale in homes that use hard water. What might
this scale be? The scale might be magnesium and calcium. After the water reaches its boiling point,
all the water molecules would turns into gas evaporates, left the solid magnesium and calcium at
the bottom of the pans. 4) Why might the water of one region be much harder than another? The
water of different region has different hardness level because water comes from different sources of

  • 2. Julius Caesar Tragic Figure Quotes After reading the Tragedy of Julius Caesar, think who best fits the role of a tragic figure In this play? There are many tragic figures, but the one who stands out the most and who practically defines the play as a tragedy would be Brutus. In the Tragedy of Julius Caesar, William Shakespeare portrays Brutus as the tragic figure. Marcus Brutus fits Aristotle s definition of a tragic figure. Aristotle s definition explains a tragic figure as a [great] man who is neither a paragon of virtue and justice nor undergoes the change to misfortune through any real badness or wickedness but because of some mistake. Aristotle defines a great man as a man of noble birth who is neither a model of perfection nor totally evil. He defines a mistake or hamartia as a flaw. The great man falls through though not entirely because of some weakness of character, some moral blindness, or error. Brutus fits this description, being a highly regarded ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In this quote, Cassius (a conspirator) is referring to Caesar. Cassius is very envious of Caesar and doesn t think that Caesar should have all of the power because he wants it for himself. This is also how the rest of the conspirators (aside from Brutus) feel. The conspirators jealousy is their motivation for wanting Caesar dead. Whether or not Brutus decision to join the conspirators and their pan for murder is a mistake is debatable. However, it is obvious that the decision is what led to the misfortune/ fall of Brutus character. Brutus explains to Cassius No, Cassius, no. Think not, thou noble Roman, that ever Brutus will go bound to Rome; he bears too great a mind. But this same day must end that work the ides of March begun, (V, I, 112 115). After Caesar s death, Brutus allows Mark Antony to speak at the funeral, and much to his surprise Antony turns the people of Rome against Brutus and the other conspirators. This ... • 3. The Impact Of The Industrial Revolution The Industrial Revolution was a period in the 18th century in Europe where and emphasis of mass production using machinery were at a peak due to large numbers of factories and workers. The Industrial Revolution allowed for innovation to spread rapidly throughout the 18th century in Britain then throughout the rest of the world. Inventions such as the sewing machine, cotton gin, as well as the telephone were invented during this time period. Modern society was then able to build upon the strides made during this time to create the urban metropolises we see today. Without a period of development for technology, the modern world would possible be in a farm based system where rural agriculture is prominent as it was prior to machinery. But with speculation there is no true way to find out what the impact of a world without the Industrial Revolutionwould look like. Despite goods being made easily and quickly in factories, there were many negatives brought along with this that tainted the image of the Industrial Revolution. As stated in document 2 the condition of these factories were poor. Employees had to work in cluttered, unsanitary conditions for long hours. Despite working for around 15+ hours per day, workers were paid inadequately. This caused parents to have their children work in these unsanitary factories and mines to help support the family. This caused for them to be delicate and sickly , but since more income was coming in, parents around Europe has more kids ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. The Importance Of Censorship Of Music Music is a form of art. An art that has been around ever since the beginning of time. It is arguably considered to be the universal language of this world. Music is what connects the hearts and feelings of one another regardless of race, color, and religious backgrounds. Art is used to express oneself. It also has the power to motivate and influence others. Throughout the years, music has evolved and transformed in many ways. However, there are restrictions in today s music, otherwise known as, censorships. There is a large crisis occurring regarding these censorships. This argument consists of two possible stances: one, supporting the continuation of the censorshipof music, and two, eliminating the status quo of censorships in the music industry. There have been countless debates and arguments regarding the issues of censorship since 1927 when the U.S. Congress passed the Radio Act (The History). The time has come for the censored in today s music to be disable. The government should release their grip on the censorship of music for the following reasons: censorship restricts an artist s ability to convey his or her message toward the listeners, it limits an artist s capacity for creativity, and it diminishes the audience s appreciation of the content in the music. First of all, the concept of censorships severely limits an artist s ability to fully express his or herself through the art of music. Musicians typically sing about their values and issues. For this reason, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. The City Of Glass Language Analysis Throughout the class we have developed a clear understanding of the concise list of themes and structures typically found in metaphysical detective stories. Merivale and Sweeney in their introduction to Detecting Texts offer a clear and concise list of themes and structures characteristic of the metaphysical detective story. They are: 1. the defeated sleuth, whether he be an armchair detective or a private eye; 2. the world, city, or text as labyrinth; 3. the purloined letter, embedded text, mise en abyme, textual constraint, or text as object; 4. the ambiguity, ubiquity, eerie meaningfulness, or sheer meaninglessness... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The detective fails to solve the crime, but also confronts insoluble mysteries of interpretation and identity. In these types of mysteries, detectives don t believe in coincidences and believe every little thing has potential meaning to solving the case. Anything may be connected to anything else if the detective, and the reader, chooses. Opposite of traditional, straightforward detective stories, the metaphysical detective stories find a complex and deceptive mystery where the detective becomes intertwined in a very complex case. The detectives in metaphysical detective stories lose their stable position within their world. They often identify themselves with the object of their pursuit, almost to the point of giving up their own identity as in Auster s City of Glass and suggested by Poe in, Man of the Crowd. For example, Edgar Allan Poe s The Man of the Crowd features a character that decides to follow a man because he thinks the man has a horrible secret. His quest to find the man through the labyrinth of the city streets is unsuccessful. Leaving the man, narrator, and the reader without a permanent ending, left to try and solve the case and predict the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Summary Of The Little Albert Experiment Reading the Little Albert experiment, I found it to be very entertaining. John B. Watson was a behaviorist whom headed out an famous psychology experiment with a graduate student named Rosalie Raynor. Apparently the goal of their experiment was to demonstrate if it was possible to manifest a fear reaction. The fear reaction would be to a previously neutral stimuli through experience . In order to show their experiment they used a nine month old baby boy from the hospital. This child was waiting to be adopted. The baby name was Albert which is where the Little Albert experiment name came from. Therefore, Watson and Rayner wanted to make sure that their fear producing stimuli would work on baby Albert. The first thing they tried was removing support that consisted of pulling on the blanket Albert was lying. They wanted to pull this out from underneath him. This did nothing but upset Albert. He s a tough fellow. I would not want anyone yanking anything from under me. Next they decided to test a loud noise as the fear stimulus. They did this by banging a steel bar with a hammer. Once again this made Albert very upset and the poor baby started to cry. However, this made Watson and Rayer ready to begin their conditioning experiment with baby Albert. They exposed the baby boy to a series of stimuli. This included a white rat, a monkey and a rabbit to observe the baby boy reaction. Amazingly enough Watson and Rayner received no reaction from him.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Albert did what any other child would do and began to cry after hearing the loud noise. • 7. Why Do More Weekend Activities Are Necessary Why More Weekend Activities are Necessary When walking around campus on the weekends, whether the weather is nice or not, you encounter very few people if any. You can t help wondering where everyone is. You ponder maybe they went home or they are going off campus with their friends to go to the mall or party. It is not beneficial that numerous people leave campus on the weekends. If students stay on campus, they are cooped up in their dorm rooms all day not wanting to leave. A major aspect of college besides acquiring an education is getting to be social and connect with your school and the people around you. That is not even possible, despite the fact that you hardly ever run across a good deal of people. The fact is, Walsh University does not provide nearly enough weekend activities to keep students on campus. Weekend activities need to be provided not only for the social aspect, but for an abundance of more reasons. Students can be creative and relieve some of their weeks stress through activities. Furthermore, students can obtain some physical activity or even learn some leadership skills. Having a movie night each Friday night, hosting parties that don t involve alcohol, or even putting on a Dodgeball tournament in the gym, can help keep students on campus. Providing more activities will help keep students on campus and involved; in view of the fact that, then there will be activities to do and they will be kept busy while having fun. • 8. The Concept of MSA LITERATURE SURVEY The concept of MSAs was first proposed by Deschamps in 1953. A patent were issued in France in 1955 in the names of Gutton and Baissinor. After the 1970, the research publications started to flow within the appearances of the first design equation. Since the, different authors started investigation on microstrip patch antennas like James hall, David M. Pozars and there are also some who contributed a lot. Throughout the years, the authors has dedicated there investigations to create a new designs or variations to the original antenna that, to some extent; produce either the wider bandwidth or the multiple frequency operation with in a single element. However most of these innovations bear some disadvantages related to size, height, width or overall volume of the single element and the improvement in the bandwidth suffers usually from degradation the other characteristics. Line feeding technique of microstrip antenna are also attracted researchers because of several advantages over other feeding techniques. Since the feed layout and patches could be etched on one board, it could makes the fabrication easier. The level of the input impedance are easily controllable. Line patches of microstrip had bandwidth and gain characteristics which is relatively narrow. These techniques are also suffers from poor surface wave efficiency and the relatively high spurious feed radiation . In 1987, the Rigorous Analysis of a Microstrip line Fed Patch Antennaare ... • 9. Self Driving Cars Are Becoming Realistic And Reliable Technology is everywhere around us, it lead to many useful creations such as computers, cellphones, airplanes, televisions and many more. Technology created many ways for people to move from one place to another, like the metro, bus, train, bicycles and cars. They are the most common transportation tools used by the people who live in big cities. Science is trying to take it a step further by making the car driverless. Self drivingcars are becoming realistic and reliable, since it is developed by many big companies competing with each other for being the first to release it for sale. Big corporations competing with each other are great for the progression of the self driving cars, because they will all try to make the better one compared to other companies and if they make it, the potential is absolutely insane. The first autonomous driving ever achieved was around 10000 B.C., when the first horse rider got onto a horse s back and rode on it without directing it to any direction. Although this technology rarely achieved the goal of arriving at a target destination, for 11980 years, this was the only form of autonomous driving humankind could get. This is the earliest traces of the autonomous found. The second earliest was a Mercedes Benz team making a van drive itself on empty streets at the speed of 100km per hour. After that, they achieved a autonomous driving on its own for 1600km. Challenges from DARPA (Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency) spread this idea and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Characteristics Of Saturated Fats Saturated fats include nuts, and in a recent study not only were nuts a good source of saturated fat, but they were also proven to improve lipid profile of inflammatory biomarkers. Participants from cohort studies has high risk for cardiac disease, but those who had a higher consumption of nuts and exercised consistently were more likely to have lower c reactive protein and IL 6 concentrations (5). They ate higher amount of nuts because they replaced red meats, processed meats, and refined grains with nuts. This reduced their risk of getting heart disease because their overall state of inflammation was reduced, and chronic low grade inflammation is known for being a culprit in all phases of atherosclerosis. In this study, inflammation caused by diet and telomere length were evaluated with those who have a high risk of heart disease. With the use of the dietary inflammatory index, they looked to see the association between diet related inflammation and telomere length. Telomere length affects how our cells age, and if they shorten, then it will shorten one s life as well as makine one more susceptible to disease. This study was a cross sectional and longitudinal study that resulted in a consistent beneficial effect with aging and health when consuming a anti inflammatory diet (7). The beneficial effects were that it changed their telomere length. Anti inflammatory diets they included were Mediterranean diets supplemented with olive oil, and Mediterranean diets supplemented with mixed nuts. The control group was on a low fat diet. This study also showed that a proinflammatory diet can affect a person telomere length by drastically shortening it (7). More specifically, proinflammatory foods include fried foods, refined carbohydrates, and sugar and anti inflammatory foods include vegetables like kale/spinach, fruits like tomatoes/blueberries, fatty fish, and nuts. Unlike with inflammation, there are more diets proven to improve hypertension. In this specific study 3 different diets were given to participants who had hypertension and ... Over the years, the population of butterflies, bees, and other crop pollinators has been on a rapid decline, risking the production of global food supplies. There are now lesser insects compared to several years ago, mainly due to climate change, human activity and other practices that destroy the insect s environment. Farmers are using a few artificial pollination methods in controlled areas such as the greenhouses. These include mechanically shaking the plants, hand pollination, or other non convention crop pollination methods instead of relying on the traditionally known natural bees. In addition, the artificial insects can swim in water, as well as fly through dust and wind. The artificial bees are available in different models and sizes, with the smallest bee weighing just 84mg, hence lighter than the real bee. The smallest Robobee model is capable of flapping its wings 120 times per second. The artificial insects can sense their surroundings and also communicate with one another. Robobee in rescue missions The Robobee was initially designed for the artificial crop pollination; however, the bees can be used for other applications such as search and rescue missions in areas where larger robots cannot fit. By communicating with each other, the robobees in a swarm will relay the information through each other back to the control without having to wait for the particular robot to get back. This means that the information from the field reaches the control room faster compared to the time a single robot would take to take back the information. The robobees are still in development stages, but so far Laboratory results seem promising. However, there are several challenges such as power and communication issues to address before insects become commercially available. Labor Law Whistle Blowing Dillema Essay Labor Law Whistle Blowing Dillema Labor relations today, are quite different from those that existed in England during the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries when employment relationships were considered of very little importance in the eyes of the law. Industrialization and commerce grew bringing with it the birth of modem day labor law. America was in no way exempt from the pain of progress. Employer and employee relationships were strained from the very beginning of labor, and it soon was evident that government intervention would be necessary to keep the labor movement on track. (3) The embryonic whistle blower describes employees who have been terminated before they have the opportunity to expose their employers practices. These employees are usually terminated because the employer suspects that they represent a potentially sensitive or unfavorable predicament (Westman 22). The various forms of retribution that whistle blowers endure at the hands of employers both financially and psychologically for attempting to correct mismanagement, fraud, and dishonesty are often too much for the whistle blower to bear. Careers are in jeopardy because individuals with strong ethics decide to pursue law suits against their employers. One example is where the US Forest Service employees found their careers ruined by either demotions or loss of jobs when caught speaking out in favor of the environment or sound science, or when ... You are also giving the reader a new article to read and allow them to give feedback if necessary. This isn t new to me, for I ve done a thesis statement before and received good feedback from fellow classmates. What s different is all of us were focused on once topic and had to come up with our own thesis on that assigned topic. It worked out well. Thesis Statement Number 1: Judging A Book by the Cover People who jump to conclusions without prior knowledge should be aware of people s feelings and not make a big deal about it. It causes personal problems and judging can take a toll on people who are sensitive and want honest opinions. Today, there a re more than seven billion people in the world. Each and everyone of them are human and have a mind. They are entitled to their own opinion and have every right to express themselves. The hard truth is their opinion can be taken to a new level and be considered judging. Judging, or looking done on someone, is expressing how you feel about a topic in a negative manner. Whether is an artist s book, an authors book or a plate of food. These things are judge without any knowledge. Judging mainly goes to people s appearance, personality and interests. • 14. How Did Nero Influence Rome Emperor Nero was the most detrimental emperor to Rome. He burned Rome so he could build Rome as he imagined it, he blamed the fire on the Christians, and he persecuted the Christians. Those are the acts that have been proven to be done by him that have affected Rome the most. He has also done some despicable things to become and stay emperor. Emperor Neroruled Rome from 54 AD to 68 AD. He was originally named Lucius Domitius Ahenobarbus, but his name was changed to Nero in 49 AD when Lucius s mother Agrippina married Emperor Claudius. Historians have read that Nero s fate was inevitable. His real father, Gnaeus Domitius, who died when Nero was three, was extremely violent. It is written that Gnaeus once deliberately ran over a young boy with his chariot as he drove through a local village. When his friends congratulated him upon hearing of the birth of his son, Nero s father said that anything born to Agrippina and him would be unlikeable and a disaster. Because of these traits in Nero s father, the people knew that hardly any good could come out of it. The people of Rome were right. One of the most despicable manifestations of human flesh ever to disgrace this planet was Nero Claudius Caesar. Born in A.D. 37, Nero was educated at the feet of the philosopher Seneca (whom he eventually forced to commit suicide). Nero murdered his way to the imperial throne, which he occupied from A.D. 54 68. His life was characterized by debauchery, violence (he caused his own mother to be ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 15. The Aspects Of Roman Life Regarding Music The feelings that the Ancient Romans had towards music could be described as ambivalent. They admired it and at the same time, they condemned it. Music, nevertheless, played a role in Roman society that, as time passed, became less and less important to the Romans. As a result, much of the information about music in Ancient Romehas been lost in time. However what has been discovered about this topic is quite fascinating, in spite of what it is lacking. The subsequent paragraphs will explain some of the aspects of Roman life regarding music. This includes the history of music in Ancient Rome, the instruments that the Romans played, the uses of music in their society and the impact that music in Rome has had on the music of today. The Romans were not the most innovative of ancient cultures when it came to music, as it wasn t held to the same importance in Rome as it was in other cultures. Regardless, the Romans did very much enjoy music and admire its use in other cultures. And so, instead of creating a Roman version of music, they borrowed the musical instruments and musical theory from those other cultures. One of them was Etruscans. Though the fact that the Etruscans had an impact on music in Rome is known, the magnitude of that impact is unknown, but instruments used in Roman life such as the tuba and the cornu are believed to have been borrowed from the Etruscans. However, it was the Greeks that had the greatest influence on Roman music. A multitude of instruments used ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The objective of this project is to investigate and determine compatible naturally based elements that can potentially replace and be integrated into the bone tissue, for medical purposes. These elements should be similar in characteristic and structure of the bone tissue, so that they can effectively replace the tissue and help stimulate bonegrowth and cellular growth, in order to maintain bone homeostasis. In order to achieve compatibility, factors such as 3 D polymeric structures within bone scaffolding, cellular composition and many other aspects should be considered within all these plausible elements. After finding potential candidates for replacements of bone tissue, each element will be organized based on their compatibility and traits that make them suited for implementation. Based on the comparison of materials, we found that the bamboo was the most suitable candidate for the implementation based on it s biocompatibility potential, biodegradability potential and mechanical integrity. • 32. Beauty And The Beast In Being There And The Bloody Chamber In the novels Being There and The Bloody Chamber there are several examples of characters constantly changing throughout the telling of the novel. Many of the characters of The Bloody Chamber are creatures who are half human and half beast, or else undergo some change from beast to human or vice versa. In Being There, we see Chance transform from a simple gardener to a man who is respected and loved by the whole country seemingly in a blink of an eye. Transformation revealing some idea of truth is a common theme of folk and fairy tales. In the original Beauty and the Beast the creature is rescued by the goodness of a true woman who restores him to his handsome self. Carter s two retellings of the tale offer something quite different. Mr. Lyon loses his attractive and powerful animal qualities and ends up looking unkempt ( The Courtship of Mr. Lyon , p. 54). In The Tiger s Bride it is not The Beast, but Beauty who is transformed. Having dispatched her replica to the real world of her father, she is free to shed all the skins of a life in the world (p. 75) and become a beast herself. Carter inverts the traditional transformation from beast to human and its symbolism. To be beast like is to be virtuous; to become manly is to be vicious. The Snow Child offers a different view on metamorphosis: a wish can become reality, but can just as easily be wished away. • 55. The Strategic Advantage Of Technology Historically, strategists have overestimated the strategic advantage of technology. Gray noted that Lieutenant General Rudolf von Caemmerer, a renowned German strategist during the early 20th Century, over valued the impact of the telegraph, when in 1905, he wrote, However much the enemy may have succeeded in placing himself between our armies, we can still amply communicate...over an arc of a hundred or two hundred or four hundred miles . While the telegraph indeed helped mitigate the tyranny of distance between armies stretched across Europe, it also created a dangerous reliance that diminished focus on dealing with the real fog and friction of war. In the end, the German Army in 1914, relying violently on the telegraph, was unable... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This reliance on technology to defeat the Improvised Explosive Device (IED) threat has effectively crippled mobility, creating one of the slowest forces in the modern era. Chris Lowe from Small War Journals states, The MRAP has yet to prove its place in future service equipment plans. The gas guzzling MRAP could impose a strain on logistics...and could run counter to the intent of counterinsurgency doctrine, which stresses close contact with the population (Small War Journals). Both examples highlight that reliance on technology as a ways versus a means can hinder military forces against an irregular enemy threat. Looking at the even more recent NATO campaign against the Moammar Gadhafi led Libyan government, it is obvious that strategy is being created around technology, rather than technology being nested into strategy. In Libya, the might of air power was the technology around which the strategy was developed. NATO leaders argued that bombing the Libyan Army would clear the way for anti Gadhafi forces, which would lead to an overthrow and a more pro Coalition government. Oren Dorell of USA Today says, The strategy in Libya in 2011 was for a U.S. led NATO air campaign to reinforce Libyan rebels, with NATO forces partnering with moderate rebel groups to create a more stable Libya. • 56. Hard Water Lab Report Essay Lab Report: Hard Water Purpose: The purpose of this lab is to determine whether a liquid is hard water or not. Background: Hard water is the water that has a high amount of mineral in it, usually Ca2+ and Mg+. These cations enter the source of water by leaching from minerals within a wet underground layer of water bearing rock, or an aquifer. According to the WHO, hard water is not harmful to human s health but it s a serious problem in the water industry. Household plumbing and appliances are also greatly affected by hard water conditions. Some of the effects include clogged pipes, water heater inefficiency and hard scaling. Hard water is also linked to decreased water flow or water pressure and seized (frozen) valves in faucets,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Chemistry Workbook , page 52 53. Data Table: | Tap water from Elk Grove| Well water from Wilton| # of drops EDTA 1st time| 16| 28| # of drops EDTA 2nd time| 16| 29| # of drops EDTA 3rd time| | | Average result| 16| 28.5| Data Analysis: 1) Which water sample had more Ca/Mg? Relatively, how much more? The well water from Wilton has a larger amount of Ca 2+/Mg 2+ compared to the Elk Grove tap water. Relatively, it s approximately twice harder because 28 drops of EDTA is added to Wilton well water in order to make it turns blue while it only take 16 drops to changes color of Elk Grove tap water. 2) EDTA is often added to shampoo. Can you suggest why? EDTA is added to shampoo to take away the calcium and magnesium that exists. The shampoo will then lather and creates more bubbles; that s greater to bathe in. 3) Pots and pans used for boiling water often develop a coating of scale in homes that use hard water. What might this scale be? The scale might be magnesium and calcium. After the water reaches its boiling point, all the water molecules would turns into gas evaporates, left the solid magnesium and calcium at the bottom of the pans. 4) Why might the water of one region be much harder than another? The water of different region has different hardness level because water comes from different sources of underground aquifers. The amount of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
