WORK AREA:
Open bench  tops impervious to water.
Sinks for washing hands/apparatus.
Windows opening with fly screens.
Doors for access/limiting access.
Generally not separated from main-building.
No special safety needed.
S.M.P:
Standard microbiological practices are observed
 Personal hygiene i.e. hand washing with liquid saops

 Mouth pipetting prohibited

 Work surface decontaminated before and after work

 Access limited while working

 Wastes decontaminated before disposal

 Biohazards signs are posted

 Spills decontaminated immediately

 Personal protective gadgets used i.e. lab coat and gloves
DECONTAMINATION:
By,
Treating with disinfectants.
 (Alcohol/Bleach)
Steam autoclaving.
PERSONNEL:
Experiments    performed by trained personnel
Use of standard operating procedures/protocols

Proper protective gears like white lab coats and gloves

All the activities of the laboratory supervised by a well trained
