The document discusses Howard Gardner's theory of multiple intelligences and how it can be applied in the classroom. It explains that students learn in diverse ways and possess different combinations of intelligences. The theory identifies eight types of intelligences: linguistic, logical-mathematical, spatial, bodily-kinesthetic, musical, interpersonal, intrapersonal, and naturalist. The author discusses using various methods in their teaching to engage students with different intelligences, such as kinesthetic learning in math class. They believe teachers should get to know each student's individual strengths and use various assessments to allow students to demonstrate their understanding in different ways.

Everything You Need to Know About Docker and Storage by Ryan Wallner, ClusterHQ Docker, Inc.
In this talk, we will provide a 10,000-ft. overview of the key concepts, architectures, and common deployment scenarios for stateful services. We will cover the Docker volumes and available storage options in the community including ClusterHQ’s Flocker volume manager. After getting the lay of the land, we'll see these concepts in action. Starting by deploying a database container on a single node with UCP, Flocker and VolumeHub. Then, using the features of Docker Swarm and Flocker, we will then allow Swarm to automatically reschedule the stateful service along with Flocker moving its volume when the node fails giving us a HA containerized database.
Efficient Parallel Testing with Docker by Laura FrankDocker, Inc.
Fast and efficient software testing is easy with Docker. We often
use containers to maintain parity across development, testing, and production environments, but we can also use containerization to significantly reduce time needed for testing by spinning up multiple instances of fully isolated testing environments and executing tests in parallel. This strategy also helps you maximize the utilization of infrastructure resources. The enhanced toolset provided by Docker makes this process simple and unobtrusive, and you’ll see how Docker Engine, Registry, Machine, and Compose can work together to make your tests fast.
How to Successfully Build a Local Docker Community by Mathias RennerDocker, Inc.
A community is one of the key components of an open source software project. The success of an open source project like Docker is highly dependent on a large and active community. The speakers will share their experience of how to successfully build a local community by the example of how they raised a Docker community at their University (Univ. of Bamberg, Germany). They summon their best practices as a result of the mistakes they made, illustrated by story telling.
This is a talk from me as a student, which is an underrepresented group at DockerCon.
Microservices + Events + Docker = A Perfect Trio by Docker Captain Chris Rich...Docker, Inc.
Microservices are an essential enabler of agility but developing and deploying them is a challenge. In order for microservices to be loosely coupled, each service must have its own datastore. This makes it difficult to maintain data consistency across services.
Deploying microservices is also a complex problem since an application typically consists of 10s or 100s of services, written in a variety of languages and frameworks.
In this presentation, you will learn how to solve these problems by using an event-driven architecture to maintain data consistency and by using Docker to simplify deployment.

Introduction
In order to fully understand student development, one must first understand a
child’s cognitive development. Cognitive theorist, Jean Piaget, is perhaps the most
influential researcher on child development. Piaget’s cognitive developmental theory
states that, “children actively construct knowledge as they manipulate and explore their
world” (Berk, 2013, p. 18). In his cognitive development theory, Piaget breaks down the
development into four stages: sensorimotor (birth-2 years), preoperational (2-7 years),
concrete operational (7-11 years), and formal operational (11 + years). It is important to
note that while Piaget heavily influenced research on child development, his theory has
the field divided (Berk, 2013). Another researcher of human development, Lev
2
Vygotsky, focused on sociocultural theory and how culture; the values, beliefs, customs,
and skills of a social group, is transmitted to the next generation and how these factors
also affect a child’s development (Berk, 2013). While Vygotsky agreed with Piaget that
children are active, constructive beings, Vygotsky viewed “cognitive development as a
socially mediated process, in which children depend on assistance from adults and more-
expert peers as they tackle new challenges” (Berk, 2013, p. 23). A third researcher in the
field, Urie Bronfenbrenner, developed the ecological systems theory, which views the
person “as developing within a complex system of relationships affected by multiple
levels of the surrounding environment” (Berk, 2013, p. 24). His theory is broken into
four systems: the microsystem, the mesosystem, the exosystem, and the marcosystem.
All of this is to say, it is not simply enough to know one theory and believe we
have sufficient information to be successful educators in student’s lives. Therefore, as
practicing educators and counselors, we must stay abreast of all child development
theories so we may better serve our students’ needs.

June 3, 2024 Anti-Semitism Letter Sent to MIT President Kornbluth and MIT Cor...Levi Shapiro
Letter from the Congress of the United States regarding Anti-Semitism sent June 3rd to MIT President Sally Kornbluth, MIT Corp Chair, Mark Gorenberg
Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. The Committee followed the hearing with letters to those institutions on January 10, 202

The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

MULTIPLE INTELLIGENCES
BY: HOWARD GARDNER THEORY
The theory of Howard Gardner has a greater help in terms of teaching and in
applying in the classroom setting. As a classroom teacher, I notice and I know that there are
diverse types of learners inside the classroom and therefore as facilitator we are flexible enough
in dealing those intelligences within the diverse types of learners. All the learning possibilities
should also be able to cater not just in one particular skill. Especially in the curriculum now a days
educators has many subjects to be taught and to be transpired to our learners so, its better not
to limit the more diverse range of human abilities. Along with differentiated instruction that is
tailored to diverse learning styles, the Multiple Intelligence theory of Howard Gardner assesses
the student learning strengths and differences. Teachers should also be careful to avoid the
labeling students as “X or bobo” types of learners. All individuals possess certain combinations of
the various intelligences, and they can apply these differently in different contexts. We can look
for specialized strengths in individuals and use them to assist learning, but attaching a permanent
label can discourage future success in learners’ weak areas. The MI includes:
Linguistic intelligence (“word smart”)
Logical-mathematical intelligence (“number/reasoning smart”)
Spatial intelligence (“picture smart”)
Bodily-Kinesthetic intelligence (“body smart”)
2. Musical intelligence (“music smart”)
Interpersonal intelligence (“people smart”)
Intrapersonal intelligence (“self smart”)
Naturalist intelligence (“nature smart”)
For instance when I teach, math class students learn algebra kinesthetically. Studying
how to graph equations, the lines, plot, they learn more about equations. In music, creative
writing, dances, and visual arts, songs, students perform tasks that actual artists, musicians, and
writers undertake. In a visual arts class, for example, students may work and learn how to work
with different media, study portraits of recognized artists. I also have another methods applied to
my learners for instance; prepared, display and they are given all the materials in front of the
class of that particular topic and on what to do is that, its up to the students on how to utilize
them whatever they have picked from it and have students visualize, dramatize, verbalize,
socialize and naturalize the material. Once you start to do this, you start to see their intelligences
emerge if student have to draw their concepts as well as write about them, then those who draw
well will have the opportunity to shine. Also, if teachers themselves used their teaching style as a
multiple intelligences vehicle, this would help a lot. I believe in multiple intelligences. It was very
apparent in the learners I taught now. Some students excelled but not in other areas. In here, we
use multiple intelligences to get through to them. Teachers have to help students use their
combination of intelligences to be successful in school, to help them learn whatever it is they
want to learn, as well as what the teachers and society believe they have to learn. It’s very
important that a teacher take individual differences among diverse learners very seriously. You
cannot be a good MI teacher if you don't want to know each child and try to gear how you teach
3. and how you evaluate to that particular child. A deep interest in children and how their minds are
different from one another and in helping them use their minds well. As facilitator in learning
let's look directly at the performance that teacher’s value, whether it's a linguistic, logical,
aesthetic, or social performance; and, also let's never pin our assessment of understanding on
just one particular measure, but let's always allow students to show their understanding in a
variety of ways.
That would be all I can shared from my teaching experience.
I hope and I’m very thankful to my beautiful, charming, gorgeous, loving,
understanding and kind hearted instructor would give high rating and help me a lot in this output.
God bless..
