An Efficient Way Transmit Codes
Throughout time the need for an efficient way transmit codes were essential to success, after World
War I and into the start of World War II American forces was running out of ideas for codes. The USA
had always used the white s soldiers for the code talkers because there were easy to train, and a
abundance of them to choose making them the practice choose for code talkers. Until Philip Johnston,
he was an initiator that worked for a Marine Corps program. As a kid and into his teens he grew up on
a Navajo reservation and his dad was a missionary. Whit all the time that Johnston spent of the
reservation he became familiar with the people and their language. With the use of the Navajos it
grained equality for Native Americans which was not found in the late 1800 s, and soon it gained them
a greater respect by the whites into today s age. In the late 1800 s Indians were seen through the eyes
of the settlers as pests, people who occupy the land that rightfully belonged to the whites. They were
thought of as savages. However this was not true, the Navajo Indians and many other tribes were only
willing to fight for their land, families and the property that they have inhabited for hundreds of years
(Robert A. Roessel, 1). In this time of lack of control, Navajos were overpowered by Americans who
were in position of authority and control. This is because Americans lacked the understanding of the
Navajo way, leading to be fatal for many as they were being transferred, resigned,

Space Based Solar Power ( Sbsp )
Space Based Solar Power It is no secret that the earth is in need of a new sustainable source of energy.
There is a limited supply of fossil fuels on the planet, and the energy generating solutions that are
currently in action are only decelerating the rate of consumption of nonrenewable energy. The U.S.
Energy Information Administration predicts that the earth will run out of useable fossil fuels by 2088
if the current rates of consumption continue. A promising long term solution to this crisis is space
based solar power (SBSP). To attain SBSP, satellites are sent up in space to obtain direct and constant
solar energy, then laser technology beams the gathered energy down to earth where it can be
constantly and globally utilized. Space based solar power is not a new idea, the Department of Energy
first studied it in the 1970s, and NASA took another look in the 90s. The stumbling block has been
less the engineering challenge than the cost (Sofge). Funding for space based solar power is costly, but
not unreasonable. As the current energy on earth depletes and the urgency for a new sustainable source
grows, there must be greater steps made towards a solution. Space based solar power is a viable
solution to the world s looming need for a new energy source, but in order to make this idea a reality
more funding is needed. The challenge is one of perception, says John Mankins, president of the
Space Power Association and the leader of NASA s mid 1990s SBSP study.

Analysis Of The Secret Of The Old Clock, By Carolyn Keeane
My entire childhood was surrounded with books. Weekly trips to the library were exciting adventures,
and books could always be expected as gifts during birthdays and holidays. My personal collection
continued to expand as I grew older, but it was nothing compared to the massive amount of books that
my parents had collected over the years; construction manuals, coffee table books, novels, and
reference books littered almost every room of the house. Among the numerous volumes that consisted
of my home library were fascinating books from my mom s childhood, books with yellowing pages
and weak spines that I couldn t wait until I was old enough to finally read. Inhabiting a bookshelf in
the basement, these books were full promise to me. The prospect of unread adventures and mysteries
within my own house made me ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The relationships between the characters was a new phenomenon that I had never been exposed to
before. The fact that Nancy was acquainted to so many seemingly insignificant people introduced me
to different types of interactions between characters, and eventually caused me to read closer as I
realized that everyone that she met was a possible suspect. Also, The Secret of the Old Clock exposed
me to a descriptive writing style that I had never experienced before. Adjectives such as animated and
chic and verbs such as murmured and mused were completely new to me and allowed for me visual
what was occurring in the book in ways previously unknown to me. The Secret of the Old Clock,
written by Carolyn Keene was the most influential book of my life. It introduced to me new literary
concepts, including vivid descriptions and intricate and complicated relationships that allowed for me
to grow as a reader. Additionally, it provided me with a positive role model in the character of Nancy,
whose independence, self reliance, and hard work inspired me throughout my

Programming Models Of Wsn System
Research Proposal Title Programming Models of WSN System: A State of the Art Survey Introduction
There are a lot scenarios need different sensor nodes to collaborate and integrated on the air into
networks to facilitate applications. The scaled down censoring system presented below is an example
of those wireless sensor networks (WSN). In this system sensors are different between corridors area
and manufacturing area, since they need different precise level. Those sensors combined together by
different wireless AP and provide services to different applications inside and outside the plant. This is
where virtualization shines. Virtualization creates an uniformed environment in heterogeneous sensor
networks. It bridge the gap between infrastructure and applications. And the network and sensor
virtualization can achieved by the middleware. Middleware hide unnecessary details and complexity
of the underlying heterogeneous infrastructures, like different sensor nodes and different wireless AP
in the presented scenario. Software designs and programming approaches for the middleware design
should facilitate the balance between communication and computing. Energy awareness, routing,
efficient resource utilization and data delivery have always been the key parameters for an efficient
programming model for WSN. Motivating Scenario Fig 1. A motivating example on dust free
manufacturing plant censoring. A simplified dust free manufacturing plant censoring system is
described below.

Brand meaning makes people to anticipate a particular capability of a brand/product. Prior to the year
2000 Dove differentiated (pg.no. 269 Kotler, Lane, 2008) itself from other soaps with its excellent
moisturizing and cleansing capabilities. In the year 2000 Dove took advantage of brand equity (pg.no.
242 Kotler, Lane, 2008 ) to launch other beauty products. Dove tried to extend the brand meaning
beyond the functional capabilities through Campaign for Real Beauty .
This definitely poses challenges to marketers. Now marketers should not only concentrate on the
functional benefits of the brand they should also concentrate on emotional benefits (pg.no. 241 Kotler,
Lane, 2008 ) of the brand.

Strengths And Weaknesses Of Employee Relations
Employment relation is one of the vital and critical parts of HRM. For making an effective and
healthy relationship between employers and employees, it is important to understand the perception of
employment relations along with its importance in an organisation (Wang Chen, 2005). Thus, if an
organisation fails to understand its significance of employment relations and unable to manager
employer and employee relationship efficiently, this might lead to impact on the organisation power
and will deter its strength and profitability. According to Singh (2011), employee relations is basically

The managers in this case are all free to take harsh and biased decisions for meeting their own
personal interest (Cully 1999; Kessler 2003). Because of this, it will create negative environment and
as a result employees will not be able to work efficiently. Even if the organisation is not supporting
conflicts; proper management should work on creating competitive working environment with the
presence of any such conflicts. If they fail, it shows that the organisation is unable to understand how

The Blood Sucking Behavior Of Hirudo
The Blood Sucking Behavior of Hirudo Miguel Soto Professor Folkerts Pepperdine University 23
April 2014 Abstract Hirudo are well known for their blood sucking, fluid feeding behavior. The
purpose of this experiment was to get a better understanding of Hirudo s blood feeding behavior; more
specifically, the study was designed to answer the question: how do different volumes of blood affect
Hirudo s thirst? By soaking a sponge with different volumes of cow blood and measuring the time it
took for the Hirudo to attach to the blood soaked sponge, the experiment yielded results that help
explain whether or not there was a connection between the amount of blood available to Hirudo for
feeding and the time it takes Hirudo to attach to the blood source. The experiment was conducted
using six Hirudo, with a total of ten different volumes of blood per sponge (ranging from 1mL to
10mL) and two trials done for each volume of blood. Data collected from the experiment was
analyzed with the SPSS program and found that differences in attachment time for the various levels
of blood in the sponge were significant at the .05 level. These results explain that Hirudo do in fact
take significantly less time to attach to a blood source containing a higher volume of blood. This
information can be helpful for medical practitioners who use Hirudo as an alternative form of
medicine. In nature, these results can also help explain Hirudo s feeding behavior and how Hirudo

market and reach them. Sometimes they failed to give them the appropriate massage. So we have
selected our target customer group and make our marketing strategy. Here we have discussed our
target group and marketing plan.
In the market the apple milk shake is very new product. Particularly in our country we have limited
milk shake and lots of dirking juice and so one. But we do not have any milk shake like this. It can
also be consider as a drinking juice. Though it is a very new product but it has a big demand in the
market. Because those drinks have no neutrality and all of them are made of different chimerical.
Those drinks are made with chemical and the flavor of that particular food item. When the customer
will get the knowledge about the product, which is cent percent natural and the juice/ milk shake
contain the originality and the flavor; the customer will go for it. I believe in reality, and we want to

Trigger Warnings Examples
Trigger warnings are being enforced around America in hopes of improving the way college students
learn. Trigger warnings originated on the internet as a way to flag certain material that could be
harmful to others. Many professors are now pushing for trigger warnings as a way to warn students
that ideas within their material could offend or emotionally harm them. While they are being
implemented across the country, their effects on students are proving to be more harmful than helpful
because they often hinder students education rather than further develop it. Applying trigger warnings
may cause professors to choose to negatively alter their material in order to attempt to teach it without
offending his or her students. In the article Survey ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They allow a colleges to coddle students. One instance of this can come from the article Con: Trigger
Warnings Impose Censorship in the Name of Sensitivity. Donald A. Downs, author and professor of
political science, law, and journalism at the University of Wisconsin, explains how trigger warnings
can negatively affect students. Downs states, Education should expose students to the depths of the
human condition, which unavoidably involves matters of good and evil, life and death. He then
claims, Trigger warnings assume that many students are not capable of handling the responsibilities of
adult citizenship. Students cannot possibly be expected to mentally or emotionally grow when they are
constantly being sheltered from the real world and all of its sometimes painful disputes. Trigger
warnings cater to the sensitive students and grant them no room to grow up on their own. Many
colleges are being overwhelmed by the positive effects that may come with trigger warnings, they
should heavily consider the negative ones as well. Enforcing trigger warnings in hopes of furthering
college education would unleash a surge of flaws into a school. Though trigger warnings may have
few upsides, if put into action they will prove themselves to be destructive to a school s learning

What Are Pricegrabber Is A Great Search And Comparison Site
PriceGrabber is a great search and comparison site where it offers consumers different ways to track
any item they want, weekly deals, and coupons for merchants. They also have current listings to make
sure we receive the lowest possible price. The feature I like the most about this site is its categories
section. Let s say you want a digital camera but you are not sure which one you want. You can just
click on digital cameras on the category search box, and up pops thousands of cameras for list. You
can then refine the list even more by price, features, manufacturers, etc. You can also give them your
email address and they will email you weekly deals and specials. I really like this site and go here to
search for products again.
1. Shopping.net
Shopping.net is not a sleek site at all. It is fairly basic. All you do is search for an item and many
listings pop up. The site does have a variety of product categories from sports equipment, books, and
clothes. But all of these categories are not prominently displayed on the home screen. It is only after
searching for an item that I saw these categories on the bottom left hand part of the screen. The
website needs a redesign. I won t be using this site again, that is until it gets a new design, and then I
would consider using the site to search for products.
2. Yahoo Shopping
I really thought that Yahoo! Shopping would be better, but it is not. The site is fairly bland. Searching

Three phrases of the tune which was given to clarinets and bassoons, has its cadence echoed by low
strings. Passages developed from the first theme then led gradually to its return in its original calm
mood after a brief climax. A brief coda was made by a new and happy melody referring to the main
theme.
The third movement was lighter than any of the other movements. But the middle section referred to
the single note motive which was grown as symphony progressed.
With the finale the grand returned, peoples were at once concerned with weighty issues. The
suspension was highly impressive making peoples feel something great impending. The themes were
many and various. But they flowed from one to another smoothly. Then the movement was fully
developed as the exuberant conclusion theme came out, fast and furiously. There also followed a
series of developments some ingenious and some powerful. Then the movement went into end. The
loud horn proclamation died slowly through sublet changing harmonies, until by a modulation. Then
the entire color and atmosphere of the music changed to half light. The original halting form of the
theme recurred briefly but only for a moment. With the development of the melody, in slow rhythm,
soft entrances of four initial motives echoed from bass to treble leading to a timid but happy and
confident reaffirmation of the motto from the first

Review of Herbert Schlossberg s Book, Idols for...
Writing in the late 1980s, Herbert Schlossberg provides a thorough analysis of current trends in
American culture in his book Idols for Destruction: The Conflict of Christian Faith and American
Culture. Many scholars have examined Western civilization and concluded that we are in its declining
years. Some use analogies of space: rise, zenith, and fall; others use analogies of biology: birth,
maturity, and death. Schlossberg refuses to see all cultures as following these patterns, but rather
attempts to use the concept of judgment, based on the biblical example of the prophets: With their
silver and gold they made idols for their own destruction (Hos. 8:4). If the idols are destroyed, and we
return to worship the true God, we can expect ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In dealing with idols of humanity and money, Schlossberg emphasizes the overarching role of envy in
Western societies. Envy is often the cause of what he calls resentiment (a term originating with
Nietzsche) a festering mental condition that wishes injury to someone whose possessions or qualities
are envied. Where a Christian ethic once encouraged an equality of opportunity, which necessarily
produces unequal results, resentiment desires an equality of results. So the gap between the rich and
the poor is seen as an evil in itself, and poverty is redefined from the lack of food or other necessities
to the lack of an affluent lifestyle. When combined with materialism, which implies that wealth can be
the only measure for quality of life, resentiment leads to all sorts of redistributive policies: welfare,
government induced inflation, credit assistance, corporate bailouts, trade regulations, etc. However,
these policies are deceptive, since they never actually help the poor, but instead make them dependent,
while at the same time enriching the people in charge of the redistribution. They have become a legal
form of stealing and one in which the majority of people in Western society gladly participate. Idols of
nature include the material and the immaterial. Materialism claims that matter is all

Argumentative Essay On The Book Thief
In the past few weeks, we have been reading the book, the Book Thief by Markus Zusak. The book
tells the story of Liesel Meminger, a girl from Germany in the time of the Holocaust. The book starts
with her as a nine year old, and progresses through her life until she is an old lady. The story details
the life of this woman through these times. And in the story, her priorities are reading and learning.
She steals books like The Grave Digger s Handbook and The Shoulder Shrug, but one book which has
negative influence was the book made by the Nazi Leader, Adolf Hitler, Mein Kampf (My Struggle).
Hitler wrote the autobiographical book, which was spread around the Germans, who were
brainwashed by the propaganda. The Mein Kampf influenced these citizens, but was the influence
good? The book created nothing but negativity. There are three examples which are strong showings
to prove the influence of the Führer caused nothing but hatred. Those three are Hans Junior, Max, and
the entire population of the Jews. Those three personas were effected in a way which caused nothing
but hurt to people.
The first character is the son of Hans Hubermann, Hans Hubermann Junior. Max is one who was taken
by the propaganda of the Mein Kampf and mesmerised. What trash is this girl reading? She should be
reading Mein Kampf. (Page 105) Hans Junior has been convinced by the evil book that anything that
doesn t support the Führer is garbage. Hans Junior also believes his father is lazy and a coward,

House, despite having a sexist main character and hardly and characters who are women, is my very

because of the intensity and intrigue of the program. The various medical cases that the show involves
keep me on my toes and excited for what is about to happen next. It wasn t until this week, however,
that I noticed just how many inequalities and separations there are between men and women in the
show. First of all, the main character of House, Dr. Greg House, is a man. Whether or not the position
could be played as either a man or a woman, I do not know. However, I should say that Hugh Laurie,

He has absolutely no tact in dealing with her, and has mentioned on made many remarks about her

House s relationship with Cameron, however, would prove as an injustice. House is equally rude and
uncouth with his other two employees. One is black, and one is British. To say that House ignores
either of these factors would be completely incorrect. House refers to the black man as darky , asks
him about crime related incidents, all in an effort to spite him. This is the same way he speaks with
Cameron about her womanhood. Is he sexist? Is he racist? Maybe. Personally, I feel that he is not
meant to be portrayed as such. I think he is just an old, angry man. Tonight s episode did not
disappoint, and has actually proved quite pertinent to this assignment. It revolves around a sixteen
year old supermodel who has a panic attack on the runway, punches a fellow model, and then
collapses to the ground, unable to move, but still aware of what is around her. When she arrives at the
hospital, her father admits to giving her Valium prior to her performance in order to help with nerves.
Also, he later admits to having had sex with her a year or so again. House is not concerned with this
information, and decided to keep the father around to ask him more questions about the daughter.
Cameron, however, finds this information very troubling and reports him. At the very end of the

Every thought that a human being has is flooded with emotion. An emotion is a natural instinctive
state of mind deriving from one s circumstances, mood, or relationships with others. You can t simply
think without pulling your emotions into your thought process. There are four basic emotions with
hundreds of sub emotions that come off of them. Humans are hardwired to feel every single one of
those emotions. They are coursing through our brain every moment. Poetry is little lines of pure
emotion. When a reader reads and understands these lines, it is like peering into the author s soul.
FInally, I agree with Nye s view on poetry and the human thought because there are many types of

Voting Is a Right for Americans Essays
The United States of America, almost since its conception, demonstrated a shining example of what a
successful democracy should be. As citizens of a democratic country, we have the privilege to choose
our leaders and the opportunity to have our voices heard. Many countries around the world operate by
dictatorship or royal lineage. In these countries, citizens are not granted the freedom to elect officials.
Often times, these people face grave consequences if they speak out against their leaders resulting in
arrests or other penalties. You would assume, with this knowledge, that Americans hold the highest
voter participation. In a study from the 2012 Presidential Election by ABC, the number of American
citizens actively involved in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
So, when I cast my ballot to vote, I do so in honor of those who sacrificed and worked tirelessly to
guarantee my right as an African American and as a woman. My first official voting experience took
place during the Houston Mayoral Election of 2009. Unlike other voters young and older I developed
a strong sense with whom and what I was voting for. Mayor Bill White proudly served the city of
Houston for three terms and was tough to replace. I did my research on the candidates propositions
and paid close attention to their campaign efforts. My parents are strong advocates about the
importance of voting. They always lectured my siblings and me about how citizens determined who
got into office and how they represented the community. You had a problem, voice your concerns with
your ballot, my mom would always say. My father would often exclaim, Don t gripe and not vote. No
vote...no room for complaints.
Going off to an out of state college, I did not foresee problems faced with voting. Registration
methods vary from state to state. Across the country, college students face barriers with exercising
their voting rights. In some areas, communities debate whether students can vote as state residents or
vote absentee from their hometowns. In other areas, legislators debate whether student IDs can be
used at polls. When I participated in the 2009 Houston Mayoral Election, I

Ruger Scout Rifle Course Analysis
The assigned reading material for this week of the course is titled Ruger Scout Rifle , and is authored
by Chick Blood. It first appeared in print in the December 2015 issue of American Gunsmith
magazine. The article begins with a tip of the hat nod to John Dean Jeff Cooper (a Marine well
regarded for firearms methods, and proficiency). He is the forefather of the scout rifle from the sights,
stock, magazine, and a threaded barrel. The Ruger Scout rifle was developed from their Model 77
platform. This weapon is known for it s firing pin assembly being restricted. Once removed, it must
stay that way until reassembly. On these rifles, they are known to have an angled forward mounting
screw (along with a mounting lug). The reason for the

St. Valentines Day Massacre Of Chicago Essay
From 1924 to 1930, the city of Chicago gained a widespread reputation for lawlessness and violence.
Not coincidentally, this phenomenon coincided with the reign of chief crime lord Al Scarface Capone,
who took over from his boss Johnny Torrio in 1925. (Torrio, who was seriously wounded in an
assassination attempt in 1924, had retired to Brooklyn.) Prohibition, ushered in by the passage of the
18th Amendment in 1920, had greatly increased the earnings of America s gangsters through
bootlegging (the illegal manufacture and sale of alcohol) and speakeasies (illicit drinking
establishments), as well as gambling and prostitution. Capone s income from these activities was
estimated at some $60 million a year; his net worth in 1927 was around ... Show more content on

Federal authorities, including the Federal
Bureau of Investigation, had much less jurisdiction than they have today, and did not include Chicago
s gang related activity. Chicago s gang war reached its bloody climax in the so called St. Valentine s
Day Massacre of
1929. One of Capone s longtime enemies, the Irish gangster George Bugs
Moran, ran his bootlegging operations out of a garage on the North Side of
Chicago. On February 14, seven members of Moran s operation were gunned down while standing
lined up, facing the wall of the garage. Some 70 rounds of ammunition were fired. When police
officers from Chicago s 36th District arrived, they found one gang member, Frank Gusenberg, barely
alive. In the few minutes before he died, they pressed him to reveal what had happened, but
Gusenberg wouldn t talk.Police could find only a few eyewitnesses, but eventually concluded that
gunmen dressed as police officers had entered the garage and pretended to be arresting the men.
Though Moran and others immediately blamed the massacre on Capone s gang, the famous gangster
himself claimed to have been at his home in Florida at the time. No one

Diesel Fuel Prices Trucking Industry Essay
The recent surge in the cost of heating oil, diesel fuel, and gasoline in the United States has had
significant impact on many sectors of the U.S. economy, but most importantly it has had quite a
devastating affect on the trucking industry. This is important due to the fact that nearly 70% of U.S.
communities rely solely on trucking for their supplies ( ATA 23). If the government continues it s trend
of non intervention and refuses to place pressure on OPEC, the prices will continue to soar well over
the two dollar mark, and cause the trucking industry as a whole to shut down bringing the U.S.
economy to a grinding halt.
What is the reason that gasoline and fuel prices are so high? Most people believe it is because of

4). A clear example of this can be seen by The Chrysler Corporation s sales of Dodge Ram pickup
trucks. Once the 11th best selling vehicle, it is now the 4th best seller; above the more fuel efficient
Ford Taurus and Honda Accord (Phillips 22).
The EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) and EIA (Energy Information Administration) both play
key roles in the types of fuel we can run in our cars and trucks and thus they indirectly play a role in
the overall price package that we consumers have to pay. When fuel arrives in the United States about
95% of it is in its natural state; that is crude oil. It is then pumped or shipped to refineries where
certain qualities are achieved such as diesel fuel, kerosene, gasoline, and heating oil. The EPA s role is
to regulate the amount of additives and other chemicals that are added to the fuels, which give them
certain cleansing and lubricating properties. An important and very controversial additive in diesel
fuel is sulphur.
All grades of diesel fuel, No.1 (kerosene), No.2 on road fuel, and No.3 off road fuel, have sulphur in
them to keep the engines burning clean and to allow the fuel to burn properly (diesel fuel is almost
non flammable in it s virgin state without additives). Sulphur however is a dangerous pollutant and has
very damaging affects on the ozone layer, thus it is the EPA s responsibility to step in and decide on

Good Night Moon Film Vs Book
The first work of literature that I remember is Good Night Moon. My mom or dad would read it to my
sister and I before we would to bed when I was very young. We would get into bed freshly showered,
teeth brushed, wet brushed hair, and sleepy. While half asleep and half listening to our parent read I
would imagine pictures to go along with the words. Slowly drifting into sleep my parents would
slowly get softer and softer in reading. Once asleep I would dream of all the characters in the book
doing crazy things. I prefer to read fantasy, mystery, science fiction, and horror genres. I like books
that I can relate to. Modern stories or older stories with a modern twist are fun to read and figure out
what all was changed from the original story.

Radical Reconstruction Pros And Cons
The four year long Civil War left the United States in a tattered state with 680,000 to 700,000
Americans dead not including civilians (Anderson 6). This number is greater than the number of
American deaths of World War I, World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War combined
(Anderson 6). Furthermore, because the South had lost the Civil War to the North, it now had to
change its state governments and laws. The American government struggled to repair the nation
ineffectively through Presidential Reconstruction. Once the Presidential Reconstruction Era came to
an end, Radical Reconstruction began (history.com). The Reconstruction Era was a progressive period
after the Civil War that restored the United States by integrating African Americans into society. While
the Freedmen s Bureau helped ease African Americans into society, Radical Reconstruction worked
for racial equality for African Americans.
One period of time that countered some of the advantages of the Reconstruction Era was Presidential
Reconstruction. Presidential Reconstruction occurred from 1865 1867 under the administration of

Americans made up the majority of Republicans in the South (Foner). Because of this, the number of

were held by African Americans (Egerton 11). Although fifteen percent may seem small, it gave
African Americans a louder voice in government. This voice increased even more once the Military

The Theme of Fatalism in Antigone
Tragedies involve a regular person experiencing a reversal in fortune because he or she results in a
catharsis arousing fear and pity of the audience. In Greek tragedies, fatalism plays a dominant role in
doing so as one is not a free agent because future(in tragedies, reversal of fortune) is predetermined
even if one knows and attempts to avoid it.
Antigone is the daughter of the Oedipus and the sister of Polyneices and Eteocles. King Creon passed
a royal edict banning anyone from burying disgraced Polyneices dead body.
Antigone is portrayed as a heroine rebel who does not fear forces from governments, has a different
mindset to that of Ismene, her submissive sister. She made the choice of burying his brother
Polyneices body that cost her life instead of leaving it in the open.
When fate puts her in this particular situation, she is forced to defy Creon s edict because she had to
follow the God s law which dictates all dead bodies have to be buried otherwise they will wander the
earth ad infinitum. There appears to be a choice for Antigone, but her mindset was pre programmed
such that fate already chose the path for her even if she believed the choice was made by her free will.
Antigone is also fully aware of her consequences and acknowledges her death and her supposed fate
as it is noted in a conversation between Antigone and Ismene:
ISMENE
O sister, scorn me not, let me but share
Thy work of piety, and with thee die.

The Story of Maurice White and Earth Wind and Fire
The reason I decided to prepared my paper on Maurice White, the founder of Earth Wind and Fire is
because of the fond memories that I have listening to my parents music. Music from the parents era is
very different from the music of today. Music from that era was more love oriented, rhythmic and rich
in science of music and musical arrangements. Artists my parents are fond of consists of music from
such groups as the Four Tops, the Dells, the Dramatics, Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes, the Chi
Lites and Stylistics. They also list Junior Walker and the All stars, Al Jaureau, and Ronnie Laws,
among others, as jazz groups. However, Earth Wind and Fire s sound is unique and quite different

Personal Strengths Of Personal Inventory
OT 381
Personal Inventory
In general, what do you consider some of your personal strengths? Of what interpersonal
skills/abilities are you proud? A personal strength of mine is collaborating well with others. Also,
when engaging with another individual, I am able to have patience as well as be an attentive listener.
These qualities are important in the field of OT because teamwork is the best approach. Finding the
answers to the problems is not going to be independently based all the time. Colleagues help each
other out by combining unique ideas in order to come up with the best possible solution. While
working with the patient, it is important to have the skill of being a good listener because hearing why
they are there and what they are struggling with is necessary for assessing the situation in order to help
him/her in the best way. Also, a patient is not going to be completely cured after one session of OT, so
possessing patience throughout the entire process is a key factor that all OT s should work towards.
What areas do you feel you need to address or need to improve in order to become more adept in the
area of professionalism and being the best occupational therapy student? One area that I strive to make

The, The Buddhist Monastic Order
The Sangha, the Buddhist monastic order, comprises Bhikku (monks), Bhikkuni (nuns), laymen, and
laywomen. While the Bhikku and Bhikkuni depend upon the laywomen and men for economic
support, the lay community depends on them for spiritual guidance and ritualistic practices. This well
rounded mutual relationship is clearly a division not only amongst religious status, but determined by
gender as well. This is quite a contradiction with the Buddhist belief that your physical self is
impermanent and ultimately attachment to your illusory self will cause you suffering. The second
Noble Truth states that suffering originates from our ongoing desire, a clinging to possessions,
attachments, and self. Why would a religion founded in the idea of shedding attachment focus so
much on gender, which is an attachment? I feel that the Buddha s hesitation in allowing women to be
initially recognized in the Sangha originates from his early childhood convictions of women, fear of
the Dharma becoming further compromised, and ultimately leading to the deterioration of Buddhism
altogether. The Buddha s hesitations regarding women becoming monastics seem to be questionable
because of the way women have responded to this discrimination even during the Buddha s lifetime.
These women are evidently devoted to the ideals and teachings of Buddhism because of their ability to
shed attachments and embody a fully monastic lifestyle. As they are shedding their attachments they
give up their gender.

Why The Anasazi Lived
Two thousand years ago the American southwest was populated by a group of people called the
Anasazi or the ancient ones . They began to build a series of great housing complexes and by the
middle of the 12 century the Anasazi disappeared and no one knows why. These early Anasazi were
nomadic hunters gatherers ranging over great territories then began to settle in communities such as
the Chaco Canyon which is now in New Mexico. Four hundred years later Spanish settlers stumbled
upon these cities and called it Pueblo Bonito. The Anasazi settled in the states of New Mexico,
Arizona, Utah, and Colorado. When the Spanish settlers found this city in New Mexico, they named it
Pueblo Bonito, which translates to beautiful city from Spanish.

How Did Alexander The Great Affect The Age Of The...
Imagine a world without splendorous leisure activities. The people of the Hellenistic Age most
certainly couldn t! The creation of their extravagant culture that focused on the enjoyment of life and
the understanding of human emotion is owed to Alexander the Great s conquest of Persia and his
decision to mix his native Greek culture with the cultures of the new lands he now owned in his vast
empire. This extremely intriguing age, which lasted for about 300 years, was responsible for many of
the ideas that are still upheld in today s culture, and the people of this time established many important
artistic and philosophical ideals that have lasted for thousands of years. The Hellenistic Age began
after the death of Alexander the Great in 323 BCE (atg timeline). His conquest of Persia after the
Battle of Gaugamela in 331 BCE technically spurred Hellenism, or the spreading of Greek culture
(adtp). Alexander the Great s empire of over seventy cities spread all the way from the west of the
Mediterranean to the east of Persia, and became a hotbed for the mixing of cultures (thought co).
People within this territory assimilated the Greek language, which then allowed for the spread of other
parts of Greek culture, like arts, philosophy, and literature (world of atg). After conquering Persia,
Alexander the Great began to introduce aspects of Greek culture through his new empire in many
different ways. He encouraged his soldiers to marry with Persian women in order to

Analysis Of The Article Let s Make A Slave
After reading the assigned literature, I have now cast a light on several issues that are currently
causing problems today. The article titled, Let s Make A Slave, was depressing because it almost
forced one to go back in time and feel the plight of Africans Americans before slavery was outlawed.
William Lynch traveled a great ways to inform the people of the Virginia Colony about slavery and
how it should truly be done. As I was reading, it seemed as though William Lynch was reading the
instructions for a product (and not a human being) but he actually was talking about people (African
Americans). The speech that he prepared was delivered was so much conviction that it made it very
hard to believe that African Americans could have been treated any other way. The Europeans (during
slavery) did not respect Black people and regarded to them as uncivilized niggers (The Black Arcade
Liberation Library, 1970,p2) and sought nothing more than to treat them like the money making
machines they were. During the speech, William Lynch was talking about several topics that are still
lingering today (certain aspects have been passed down from generation to generation). For instance,
African American males were used to breed and once that job was done they were immediately
separated from their family (leaving the mother to raise the negro child). The slave owners sought to
pin the dark skinned Blacks against the light skinned Blacks and this was to ensure that there

Surviving Female Gender Roles
Surviving Female Gender Roles What defines being feminine will vary with each culture, but two
archetypes: passive homemaker and liberal feminist have existed for centuries as one will see in two
Japanese stories written in the 17th century. In The Love Suicides at Amijima, readers see the social
chains that bind a submissive woman to her societal duties. On the other hand, in Tales of Sensuous
Women, readers are shown a complete opposite archetype where women find ways to circumvent the
social expectations that have been imposed upon them. Although four hundred or so years have passed
since these stories were written, modern women these days still have a number of societal restrictions
that make them less liberated than their male ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Readers of The Love Suicides at Amijima would not be able to see multi faceted female characters as
these in Life of a Sensuous Woman. Readers would only see female characters who blindly support
the endeavors of the men in their lives. The women in Tales of Sensuous Women are less confined by
circumstance but 17th century Japanese people would have preferred the obedient and submissive
female as opposed to one who had a mind of her own. The feminist movement that guaranteed a
female s civil rights through law has increased the number of rights given to them. In the 21st century,
society believes that a female who fits the homemaker archetype should be more adventurous while a
female who fits the liberated, free loving archetype should be more restrained. Society accepts from
women, a balance between the two archetypes which brings up the question of how social norms or
gender roles are created and who enforces these roles. Does Koharu and Osan s passiveness stem from
physical weakness or were they brought up in a way that made them act this way? They re behavior as
supporter is restrictive and shameful in the sense that they are second class citizens. For the liberated
women, is life for them simply seducing men and robbing them of virility? Almost each protagonist at
the end feels emotionally empty when she reminisces her sexually

The Pros And Cons Of Spaying And Neutering
Spaying and Neutering
Spaying and neutering a cat or dog is an important and responsible thing to do. Spaying or neutering
refers to a surgical procedure to render a dog or cat unable to produce litters of puppies or kittens (
What is Spay/Neuter? ) . Spaying and neutering are surgeries performed by a veterinarian removing
the reproductive organs. Spay and neuters are the most commonly performed animal surgeries. There
are many advantages to spaying or neutering an animal. There are also common misconceptions of
these surgeries.
Spaying a pet is the surgical removal of the reproductive organs. In female, an ovariohysterectomy, or
spay, is the removal of the uterus, uterine tubes, and ovaries ( Spaying Your Cat or Dog ). Spaying is
considered a routine abdominal surgery. The animal will be placed under general anesthesia, and
recovery is usually prompt. Spayed females will no longer have estrus cycles and will no longer be
able to reproduce.
Neutering refers to the removal of both testicles from the scrotum through a small incision ( What is
Spay/Neuter? ). Neutering is also known as castration. A neutered male cat or dog is no longer capable
of reproducing. Animals tend to recover quicker from a neuter rather than a spay because it is less
invasive (Tobiassen Crosby 1). Some male cats or dogs may be
Rink 2 cryptorchid, which is a birth defect where the testicle doesn t migrate into the scrotum. It is
important that cyrptochid cats or dogs do not reproduce. Also, due to

  • 2. An Efficient Way Transmit Codes Throughout time the need for an efficient way transmit codes were essential to success, after World War I and into the start of World War II American forces was running out of ideas for codes. The USA had always used the white s soldiers for the code talkers because there were easy to train, and a abundance of them to choose making them the practice choose for code talkers. Until Philip Johnston, he was an initiator that worked for a Marine Corps program. As a kid and into his teens he grew up on a Navajo reservation and his dad was a missionary. Whit all the time that Johnston spent of the reservation he became familiar with the people and their language. With the use of the Navajos it grained equality for Native Americans which was not found in the late 1800 s, and soon it gained them a greater respect by the whites into today s age. In the late 1800 s Indians were seen through the eyes of the settlers as pests, people who occupy the land that rightfully belonged to the whites. They were thought of as savages. However this was not true, the Navajo Indians and many other tribes were only willing to fight for their land, families and the property that they have inhabited for hundreds of years (Robert A. Roessel, 1). In this time of lack of control, Navajos were overpowered by Americans who were in position of authority and control. This is because Americans lacked the understanding of the Navajo way, leading to be fatal for many as they were being transferred, resigned, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Space Based Solar Power ( Sbsp ) Space Based Solar Power It is no secret that the earth is in need of a new sustainable source of energy. There is a limited supply of fossil fuels on the planet, and the energy generating solutions that are currently in action are only decelerating the rate of consumption of nonrenewable energy. The U.S. Energy Information Administration predicts that the earth will run out of useable fossil fuels by 2088 if the current rates of consumption continue. A promising long term solution to this crisis is space based solar power (SBSP). To attain SBSP, satellites are sent up in space to obtain direct and constant solar energy, then laser technology beams the gathered energy down to earth where it can be constantly and globally utilized. Space based solar power is not a new idea, the Department of Energy first studied it in the 1970s, and NASA took another look in the 90s. The stumbling block has been less the engineering challenge than the cost (Sofge). Funding for space based solar power is costly, but not unreasonable. As the current energy on earth depletes and the urgency for a new sustainable source grows, there must be greater steps made towards a solution. Space based solar power is a viable solution to the world s looming need for a new energy source, but in order to make this idea a reality more funding is needed. The challenge is one of perception, says John Mankins, president of the Space Power Association and the leader of NASA s mid 1990s SBSP study. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Weekly trips to the library were exciting adventures, and books could always be expected as gifts during birthdays and holidays. My personal collection continued to expand as I grew older, but it was nothing compared to the massive amount of books that my parents had collected over the years; construction manuals, coffee table books, novels, and reference books littered almost every room of the house. Among the numerous volumes that consisted of my home library were fascinating books from my mom s childhood, books with yellowing pages and weak spines that I couldn t wait until I was old enough to finally read. Inhabiting a bookshelf in the basement, these books were full promise to me. The prospect of unread adventures and mysteries within my own house made me ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Also, The Secret of the Old Clock exposed me to a descriptive writing style that I had never experienced before. Adjectives such as animated and chic and verbs such as murmured and mused were completely new to me and allowed for me visual what was occurring in the book in ways previously unknown to me. The Secret of the Old Clock, written by Carolyn Keene was the most influential book of my life. • 5. Programming Models Of Wsn System Research Proposal Title Programming Models of WSN System: A State of the Art Survey Introduction There are a lot scenarios need different sensor nodes to collaborate and integrated on the air into networks to facilitate applications. The scaled down censoring system presented below is an example of those wireless sensor networks (WSN). In this system sensors are different between corridors area and manufacturing area, since they need different precise level. Those sensors combined together by different wireless AP and provide services to different applications inside and outside the plant. This is where virtualization shines. Virtualization creates an uniformed environment in heterogeneous sensor networks. It bridge the gap between infrastructure and applications. And the network and sensor virtualization can achieved by the middleware. Middleware hide unnecessary details and complexity of the underlying heterogeneous infrastructures, like different sensor nodes and different wireless AP in the presented scenario. Software designs and programming approaches for the middleware design should facilitate the balance between communication and computing. Energy awareness, routing, efficient resource utilization and data delivery have always been the key parameters for an efficient programming model for WSN. Motivating Scenario Fig 1. The Blood Sucking Behavior Of Hirudo The Blood Sucking Behavior of Hirudo Miguel Soto Professor Folkerts Pepperdine University 23 April 2014 Abstract Hirudo are well known for their blood sucking, fluid feeding behavior. The purpose of this experiment was to get a better understanding of Hirudo s blood feeding behavior; more specifically, the study was designed to answer the question: how do different volumes of blood affect Hirudo s thirst? By soaking a sponge with different volumes of cow blood and measuring the time it took for the Hirudo to attach to the blood soaked sponge, the experiment yielded results that help explain whether or not there was a connection between the amount of blood available to Hirudo for feeding and the time it takes Hirudo to attach to the blood source. The experiment was conducted using six Hirudo, with a total of ten different volumes of blood per sponge (ranging from 1mL to 10mL) and two trials done for each volume of blood. Data collected from the experiment was analyzed with the SPSS program and found that differences in attachment time for the various levels of blood in the sponge were significant at the .05 level. These results explain that Hirudo do in fact take significantly less time to attach to a blood source containing a higher volume of blood. This information can be helpful for medical practitioners who use Hirudo as an alternative form of medicine. Trigger warnings originated on the internet as a way to flag certain material that could be harmful to others. Many professors are now pushing for trigger warnings as a way to warn students that ideas within their material could offend or emotionally harm them. While they are being implemented across the country, their effects on students are proving to be more harmful than helpful because they often hinder students education rather than further develop it. Downs states, Education should expose students to the depths of the human condition, which unavoidably involves matters of good and evil, life and death. He then claims, Trigger warnings assume that many students are not capable of handling the responsibilities of adult citizenship. Students cannot possibly be expected to mentally or emotionally grow when they are constantly being sheltered from the real world and all of its sometimes painful disputes. Passages developed from the first theme then led gradually to its return in its original calm mood after a brief climax. A brief coda was made by a new and happy melody referring to the main theme. The third movement was lighter than any of the other movements. But the middle section referred to the single note motive which was grown as symphony progressed. With the finale the grand returned, peoples were at once concerned with weighty issues. The suspension was highly impressive making peoples feel something great impending. The themes were many and various. But they flowed from one to another smoothly. Then the movement was fully developed as the exuberant conclusion theme came out, fast and furiously. There also followed a series of developments some ingenious and some powerful. Then the movement went into end. The loud horn proclamation died slowly through sublet changing harmonies, until by a modulation. Then the entire color and atmosphere of the music changed to half light. Writing in the late 1980s, Herbert Schlossberg provides a thorough analysis of current trends in American culture in his book Idols for Destruction: The Conflict of Christian Faith and American Culture. Many scholars have examined Western civilization and concluded that we are in its declining years. Some use analogies of space: rise, zenith, and fall; others use analogies of biology: birth, maturity, and death. Schlossberg refuses to see all cultures as following these patterns, but rather attempts to use the concept of judgment, based on the biblical example of the prophets: With their silver and gold they made idols for their own destruction (Hos. 8:4). If the idols are destroyed, and we return to worship the true God, we can expect ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In dealing with idols of humanity and money, Schlossberg emphasizes the overarching role of envy in Western societies. Envy is often the cause of what he calls resentiment (a term originating with Nietzsche) a festering mental condition that wishes injury to someone whose possessions or qualities are envied. Where a Christian ethic once encouraged an equality of opportunity, which necessarily produces unequal results, resentiment desires an equality of results. So the gap between the rich and the poor is seen as an evil in itself, and poverty is redefined from the lack of food or other necessities to the lack of an affluent lifestyle. When combined with materialism, which implies that wealth can be the only measure for quality of life, resentiment leads to all sorts of redistributive policies: welfare, government induced inflation, credit assistance, corporate bailouts, trade regulations, etc. However, these policies are deceptive, since they never actually help the poor, but instead make them dependent, while at the same time enriching the people in charge of the redistribution. They have become a legal form of stealing and one in which the majority of people in Western society gladly participate. Idols of nature include the material and the immaterial. The book tells the story of Liesel Meminger, a girl from Germany in the time of the Holocaust. The book starts with her as a nine year old, and progresses through her life until she is an old lady. The story details the life of this woman through these times. And in the story, her priorities are reading and learning. She steals books like The Grave Digger s Handbook and The Shoulder Shrug, but one book which has negative influence was the book made by the Nazi Leader, Adolf Hitler, Mein Kampf (My Struggle). Hitler wrote the autobiographical book, which was spread around the Germans, who were brainwashed by the propaganda. The Mein Kampf influenced these citizens, but was the influence good? The book created nothing but negativity. There are three examples which are strong showings to prove the influence of the Führer caused nothing but hatred. Those three are Hans Junior, Max, and the entire population of the Jews. Those three personas were effected in a way which caused nothing but hurt to people. The first character is the son of Hans Hubermann, Hans Hubermann Junior. Max is one who was taken by the propaganda of the Mein Kampf and mesmerised. What trash is this girl reading? To only look at House s relationship with Cameron, however, would prove as an injustice. House is equally rude and uncouth with his other two employees. One is black, and one is British. To say that House ignores either of these factors would be completely incorrect. House refers to the black man as darky , asks him about crime related incidents, all in an effort to spite him. This is the same way he speaks with Cameron about her womanhood. Is he sexist? Is he racist? Maybe. Personally, I feel that he is not meant to be portrayed as such. I think he is just an old, angry man. Tonight s episode did not disappoint, and has actually proved quite pertinent to this assignment. It revolves around a sixteen year old supermodel who has a panic attack on the runway, punches a fellow model, and then collapses to the ground, unable to move, but still aware of what is around her. When she arrives at the hospital, her father admits to giving her Valium prior to her performance in order to help with nerves. Also, he later admits to having had sex with her a year or so again. House is not concerned with this information, and decided to keep the father around to ask him more questions about the daughter. As citizens of a democratic country, we have the privilege to choose our leaders and the opportunity to have our voices heard. Often times, these people face grave consequences if they speak out against their leaders resulting in arrests or other penalties. If the government continues it s trend of non intervention and refuses to place pressure on OPEC, the prices will continue to soar well over the two dollar mark, and cause the trucking industry as a whole to shut down bringing the U.S. economy to a grinding halt. The EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) and EIA (Energy Information Administration) both play key roles in the types of fuel we can run in our cars and trucks and thus they indirectly play a role in the overall price package that we consumers have to pay. When fuel arrives in the United States about 95% of it is in its natural state; that is crude oil. In Greek tragedies, fatalism plays a dominant role in doing so as one is not a free agent because future(in tragedies, reversal of fortune) is predetermined even if one knows and attempts to avoid it. Antigone is the daughter of the Oedipus and the sister of Polyneices and Eteocles. King Creon passed a royal edict banning anyone from burying disgraced Polyneices dead body. Antigone is portrayed as a heroine rebel who does not fear forces from governments, has a different mindset to that of Ismene, her submissive sister. She made the choice of burying his brother Polyneices body that cost her life instead of leaving it in the open. When fate puts her in this particular situation, she is forced to defy Creon s edict because she had to follow the God s law which dictates all dead bodies have to be buried otherwise they will wander the earth ad infinitum. There appears to be a choice for Antigone, but her mindset was pre programmed such that fate already chose the path for her even if she believed the choice was made by her free will. Antigone is also fully aware of her consequences and acknowledges her death and her supposed fate as it is noted in a conversation between Antigone and Ismene: ISMENE O sister, scorn me not, let me but share Thy work of piety, and with thee die. While the Bhikku and Bhikkuni depend upon the laywomen and men for economic support, the lay community depends on them for spiritual guidance and ritualistic practices. This well rounded mutual relationship is clearly a division not only amongst religious status, but determined by gender as well. This is quite a contradiction with the Buddhist belief that your physical self is impermanent and ultimately attachment to your illusory self will cause you suffering. The second Noble Truth states that suffering originates from our ongoing desire, a clinging to possessions, attachments, and self. Why would a religion founded in the idea of shedding attachment focus so much on gender, which is an attachment? I feel that the Buddha s hesitation in allowing women to be initially recognized in the Sangha originates from his early childhood convictions of women, fear of the Dharma becoming further compromised, and ultimately leading to the deterioration of Buddhism altogether. The Buddha s hesitations regarding women becoming monastics seem to be questionable because of the way women have responded to this discrimination even during the Buddha s lifetime. These women are evidently devoted to the ideals and teachings of Buddhism because of their ability to shed attachments and embody a fully monastic lifestyle. As they are shedding their attachments they give up their gender. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The creation of their extravagant culture that focused on the enjoyment of life and the understanding of human emotion is owed to Alexander the Great s conquest of Persia and his decision to mix his native Greek culture with the cultures of the new lands he now owned in his vast empire. This extremely intriguing age, which lasted for about 300 years, was responsible for many of the ideas that are still upheld in today s culture, and the people of this time established many important artistic and philosophical ideals that have lasted for thousands of years. The Hellenistic Age began after the death of Alexander the Great in 323 BCE (atg timeline). His conquest of Persia after the Battle of Gaugamela in 331 BCE technically spurred Hellenism, or the spreading of Greek culture (adtp). Alexander the Great s empire of over seventy cities spread all the way from the west of the Mediterranean to the east of Persia, and became a hotbed for the mixing of cultures (thought co). William Lynch traveled a great ways to inform the people of the Virginia Colony about slavery and how it should truly be done. As I was reading, it seemed as though William Lynch was reading the instructions for a product (and not a human being) but he actually was talking about people (African Americans). The speech that he prepared was delivered was so much conviction that it made it very hard to believe that African Americans could have been treated any other way. The Europeans (during slavery) did not respect Black people and regarded to them as uncivilized niggers (The Black Arcade Liberation Library, 1970,p2) and sought nothing more than to treat them like the money making machines they were. During the speech, William Lynch was talking about several topics that are still lingering today (certain aspects have been passed down from generation to generation). For instance, African American males were used to breed and once that job was done they were immediately separated from their family (leaving the mother to raise the negro child).
