My favorite quote will always be by Sappho in which she says, Someone, I tell you, in another
time will remember us. She was right. She s remembered for being a gay poet and is
immortalized despite a lot of her works not being found completely. It s one of my favorite
quotes because identifying as a nonbinary queer person who also likes girls, I can relate to
Sappho a lot when she writes about her desire for love and personal heartbreaks. This quote also
brings me ease as even in another time someone will still remember me. I think we all want to leave
a legacy of some sort, and for me I want my legacy to be centered around my experience and
accomplishments as an American born Punjabi artist and social activist, who was also highly
active in the LGBTQ+ community. I want someone to remember me because it is a vicious
cycle that people of color and members of the color in the LGBTQ+ community get forgotten in
history. History is white washed. But the idea that I will do enough in my life to be remembered

Moving on, my strength and determination did not magically appear one day. I had a lot of
amazing people who are a part of my support network who helped show me what healthy self

teacher. Candice Ligator, was one of the best, and one of my favorite teachers in my high school
career. She was a big part of my support system when it came to being a trans and queer student
who had a lot of family issues. She was also a big inspiration to me as she told us stories full of
struggles growing as a teacher. She talked about how starting off as a teacher at first made her
cry every night, showing me that it takes persistence to be adept in a profession. Her choices on

Oscar Romero was an amazing man. Even though his life was cut short, he was able to make an
impact on the society that he lived in. Oscar Romero died a hero and an advocate for the people
of El Salvador, specifically the city of Agulaires. Leading up to his death, Romero s spiritual
journey evolved. Romerowas elected Archbishop because few saw Romero as a threat. He was
very intelligent, and would hardly take his head out of a book. When Romero was elected he
became good friends with Rutilio Grande. Grande was a priest of Agularies. His mission was to

For this social experiment I am required to violate a social norm and observe the reactions I
would get for doing something considered deviant by society s standards. While it is a small norm
to break, I decided that I would try to interrupt people while they are talking as many times during

The Sirens of Titan The book I chose for my third book report is The Sirens of Titan , a 326 page
novel by Kurt Vonnegut. I chose this book because initially the synopsis caught my interest and
I had heard a great deal about the writing of Vonnegut although, I had never actually read any of
his works. I thought, based on the theme of the story, that it would be an interesting read;
despite my tendency to read books outside of the science fiction genre, I figured I would try
something new and give this book a chance. The title is a peculiar one to me seeing as the story
hardly addresses the sirens in full, let alone gives enough significance to them to be worthy of the
title. The sirens are only brought up on occasion and do not add anything too vital to the story. I
only have the vaguest of ideas as to why Vonnegut would select this as his title. All I can interpret
from it is that it s a reflection on how the protagonist cares for only insignificant and petty things
like wealth and attraction rather than any imperative and genuine world issues. The story takes

to defend me on the fields of Troy in battle.
Hector was prince of Troy. He was son of Priam and brother of God like Paris. Even though he
had a lot of qualities to be chosen as a partner, the main reason I chose him as my partner is that
he never forget his duties, he always did the right thing, and he always remind his other Trojan

The 1994 Documentary, Hoop Dreams, directed by Steve James, is a masterful display of human
drama. The story line is so captivating and theatrical that it seems crafted from fiction. The
Documentary boasts cinematic techniques and private investigating that rivals most film of this time
period. The film follows the high school careers of two boys from the Cabrini Green housing
projects in Chicago. The aggressive authenticity of cinema verite does not only peek through in
character emotion, but film s beginning came together naturally. James tells Robert Ebert in 2009, A
In contrast with interviews that James conducts as a source or witness, in which he sets the mise en
scene, James tends to keep the camera true to life with the mother (Bellour, 50). James maintains a
shaky camera technique to solidify his position as the eye looking into their world. During panning
or other establishing shots, narrated sequences, and interviews with characters, a tripod is used to
separate those moments from the story. Although not entirely non diegetic, the interviews are
spaces in the film shot outside of the story. The audience is given confirmation of how William and
Arthur must be feeling during this time, allowing character development. Along with the ethical
concerns of not tampering with reality, aesthetic efforts during the interviews was necessary to

and how people are placed into order of importance in society is known as feudalism. In this
caste system there are four groups; Kings, Barons, Vassals, and Serfs. The main individual of

In the memoir Warriors Don t Cry , its all about Melba Pattillo and her story. Melba Pattillo is a
black student who has been integrated ,along with the LR9, to little Rock High School. At this
time, this school was segregated, but black people are trying to integrate into this school.
So when the first day of school for the integration has come, there have been riots, crowds of

My memoir is about me going through school and trying to get the best grades I could. It starts
at Meadows Elementary school, 5th grade. I was averaging a 4.000. But I was struggling to
keep it up. I ve always wanted to have a great life ,to have everything I want, to give everything I
want, and more. So if I want all those things I have to earn them. I ve talked tom my mom about
all this and she is very supportive. She has always been there for me and I needed her to stay with
me know. So I wanted to keep a 4.000 all the way out through college. I got what I wanted through
5th grade, so know comes middle school. At this time I heard that middle school was really hard,
and rough to get through, especially with those grades. I got to 6th grade, and through the first
term. I had one B in math, I was mad but I thought to myself that I was going to get better
throughout the school year. Trough the whole ear I dint have straight A s. I only had one B and
it was it was advanced math. I really wanted straight A s so bad. So know comes 7th grade. I m
more mature, responsible. Everything I take home my parents help me with. I wanted to get

However, no one has come close to leaving one behind the way Mohandas Gandhi did. Gandhi is
known as a legend by the people of India because he led their country to freedom from British
rule. During this time, Britain was one of the most powerful nations and most heavily armed group

From that moment, Gandhi became cognizant of his values and beliefs. At the end of Gandhi s
high school education, he decided he wanted to be a lawyer. In order to do so, Gandhi sought to
go to England. In Gandhi s own words, It was an uncommon thing for a young man from Rajkot to
go to England (Gandhi 21). Mohandas went to England with a friend, leaving his wife, son, and
mother all behind.
On his trip to England, Mohandas Gandhi struggled with the English language, and how to eat
with utensils. Gandhi, who did not eat meat, survived off sweets and fruits on the ship because he
was afraid to ask which foods were meat free. Rather than engaging with others, Gandhi remained
reserved on the ship. The ship docked on September 29, 1988, and from there, Gandhi took a train
to London. Eventually, Gandhi arrived at the Victoria Hotel, where he stayed.
Gandhi described London to be alive with ideas and movements (Gandhi 29). Gandhi enrolled at
the Inner Temple University, and graduated in 1891. He was then admitted to the bar of England,
and began reading the ideas of David Thoreau on nonviolence. These ideas shaped Gandhi s beliefs
on handling matters without violence. He soon realized he could not be successful as a lawyer in
