This document outlines the first lesson of a basic leadership training. It introduces the topic of leadership and asks questions about why people want to be leaders and what makes a good leader. The lesson defines a leader as someone who brings people from where they are to where they need to be. It contrasts leaders, who motivate and organize people, with managers, who provide the means and resources.
