We may often think of mercy in the context of
No.1, but there is much more to mercy than that.

10. Adam sinned
Romans 5:12
Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the
world, and death by sin; and so death passed
upon all men, for that all have sinned.
11. And now we are ALL sinners
Psalm 51:5
Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did
my mother conceive me.
12. Mercy requires Justice
Numbers 14:18
The Lord is long-suffering and of great mercy
forgiving iniquity and transgression, and by no
means clearing the guilty.
Just because GOD has great mercy does not
mean we can do what we want
13. There must be truth
Proverbs 16:6
By mercy and truth iniquity is purged: and by
the fear of the LORD men depart from evil.
14. There must be punishment
Psalm 9:17
The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the
nations that forget God.
15. To show mercy there must be justice
Exodus 34:7
Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity
and transgression and sin, and that will by no
means clear the guilty.
16. GOD is angry with the wicked every day
Psalm 7:11 God judgeth the righteous, and God is
angry with the wicked every day.
And we are all wicked… (Romans 3:10,23)
We all deserve death (Romans 6:23) and eternal
judgment in the lake of fire (Revelation 20:12-15).

For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven
against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of
men …

22 What if God, willing to shew his wrath,
and to make his power known, endured
with much longsuffering the vessels of

23 And that he might make known the
riches of his glory on the vessels of
mercy, which he had afore prepared unto
glory …

Among whom also we all had our conversation
in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling
the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and
were by nature the children of wrath, even as
others.

22. GOD loved the world enough to extend
His mercy
Christ took our punishment so GOD could extend mercy to us
John 3:16
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only
begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him
should not perish, but have everlasting life.
23. GOD’s Mercy and Love go hand-in-hand
Ephesians 2:4
But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love
wherewith he loved us,
24. We deserve eternal punishment for
our SIN
But GOD’s mercy offers us salvation
25. The love of GOD faced the holiness of GOD
GOD’s love made a way to appease the wrath of GOD
Love provided a way to pay the price for our offense
against GOD’s holiness.
26. The Cross of Christ reconciled the holiness
of GOD with the love of GOD
The price of sin was paid by love!
Now, GOD’s mercy can be extended to us...

For all this his anger is not turned away, but his
hand is stretched out still.
People no longer
have to die under
GOD’s condemnation
and wrath, because
GOD made a way.
28. So, Christ is called the wisdom of GOD
1 Corinthians 1:24
But unto them which are called, both Jews and
Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom
of God.
So Christ can say He is the way, the truth, and
the life
29. It’s GOD’s mercy that quickens the dead
Ephesians 2:4-5
4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for
his great love wherewith he loved
us,
5 Even when we were dead in sins,
hath quickened us together with
Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
30. It’s GOD’s mercy that regenerated us
1 Peter 1:3
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord
Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant
mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively
hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from
the dead

through the washing of regeneration and
renewing of the Holy Spirit.
32. Repentance before mercy
Luke 13:3
I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye

But, there must be an acknowledgment of the need
for GOD’s mercy.
33. There must be acknowledgement of sin
against GOD
Psalm 41:4
I said, Lord, be merciful unto me: heal my soul;
for I have sinned against thee.

Psalm 136:1
O give thanks unto the Lord: for He is good, for His
mercy endureth forever
We will give thanks forever in heaven, because
every believer will be there forever.

Being merciful is much better than not being.

Psalm 145:9
The Lord is good to all: and his tender mercies

great are his mercies: but let me not fall into the

GOD has revealed his mercies to us: in
salvation, in everyday life, through learning His
word (this is what the world needs to hear)
69. Mercy is also a spiritual gift
Romans 12:8
Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that
giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that
ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy,
with cheerfulness.
Here, it is an action; thus, becoming acts of mercy
70. Examples of Mercies
1. Not running over people crossing the street
without looking.
2. Not making your child cry when you could.
3. Not harming or mistreating your dog:
Considering its life.

1. Telling a brother or sister that is suffering, you
are praying for them.
2. Speaking kind words to someone when they
deserve bad words.
3. Not rubbing it in even when you could.
