The Death Penalty Is A Form Of Execution
I.Introduction
The death penalty is a form of execution used in the United States. The federal death penalty can
be used in any state or territory of the U.S. even in states that do not have it. There are currently 32
states including North Carolina that have the death penalty. Its purpose was to deter crime from
happening. Therefore, creating a safer environment. Unfortunately this has not been the case. The
death penalty has claimed innocent lives, ruined lives, is issued at random unfairly, and does not
decrease the crime rate. It should be abolished by all states because it does not work.
II.History Britain influenced America s use of the death penalty more than any other country. When
European settlers came to the new world (now the United States). They brought capital punishment.
The first recorded execution in the new colonies was that of Captain George Kendall in the
Jamestown colony of Virginia in 1608. He was killed for being a spy for Spain. Death penalty
laws were different from colony to colony. It was Cesare Beccaria s 1767 essay On Crimes and
Punishment that had a strong impact throughout the world on the justification for the state s taking
of a life1. The first attempt to reform the death penalty in the U.S. occurred when Thomas
Jefferson introduced a bill to revise Virginia s death penalty laws. The bill proposed that capital
punishment be used only for crimes of murder and treason. It was defeated by only one vote1. In
1946, Michigan was

Compare And Contrast Jackson And Thomas Jefferson

US History to 1877

Critical Essay 2 For my second critical essay in this course I have elected to tackle the subject of
the lives, attitudes, and presidencies of Andrew Jackson and Thomas Jefferson. I will compare
the two and state how they are alike and how they are different. Then the last thing I will do is
choose and explain who I believe was the more effective leader. Both were very influential and
effective presidents in the development of the early United States, but Thomas Jefferson was the
more effective leader in my humble opinion. Andrew Jackson born March 15, 1767 somewhere
between the border of North and South Carolina. During the Revolutionary War he acted as a
courier at the age of 13 and was later captured by the British ... Show more content on

Then later he became a lawyer and helped with the founding of the state of Tennessee. He was a
slave owner and owned hundreds that resided on Hermitage Plantation which he received in
1804. Jackson received his first appearance in the national spotlight during the War of 1812. He
played a major role in the United States acquisition of Florida from Spain. In his political career
he served on both the House of Representatives and then the Senate. He was nominated for
president in 1824 but lost to John Quincy Adams. He was nominated again in 1828 and this time
was successful. Jackson went through a conflict with the state of South Carolina wanting to
secede from the Union because of the Tariff of Abominations. Which was that he denied the right
to any state to secede or nullify any federal law. All of this ended when he threatened to use
military force if South Carolina or any other state tried to secede. He was very opposed of the

Mycenaean And Minoan Civilization Research Paper
The Minoan and Mycenaean civilizations were the first two cultures to evolve in Greece. The
Minoans occupied the island of Crete. The Mycenaean s began in Southern Greece before
acquiring more land. They were both located around the Aegean Sea which they learned to sail to
trade with other cultures and for fishing. They were similar in their religious beliefs and the
artwork they made. Pottery was common and both used metals for decoration and weapons. They
believed in a goddess. Gold and bronze were discovered and used by both cultures. The Minoans
were more artistic with more colorful pottery being found. The Mycenaean developed the used of
weaponry and built and trained a standing military. They advanced their civilization... Show more

Sparta had a very strict social structure that support military rule and was against tyranny of one
leader. Sparta was governed by a ruling class or family. Spartan citizens were rigorously trained
for battle and educated to be leaders at a young age. Spartan women had the most rights and
freedoms of any other women during ancient times. Sparta was located in the Peloponnese and
was founded by Dorian invaders. The economy of Sparta was based upon agriculture and
depended heavily upon slaves. The slaves were expected to support the Spartans while the citizens
were expected to fight to defend Sparta. Sparta did not support any cultural arts as they focused
primarily on sports and the military. The city state of Athens developed the first democracy as a
form of government. They were descended from the Ionians. Athens had a constitution that allowed
citizenship to all free men of the city. They did not separate people due to their wealth or social
status. The governing body was picked from a lottery system to prevent favoritism in the
government. Athens also coined its own money which allowed for economic improvements. Athens
was known for its advancements in the cultural arts which included architecture. The arts was
encouraged within the city state. Citizens were encouraged to trade with their neighboring

Working With Parents
In your opinion, why is the parent partnership important in the education of a student?
Research has clearly proven that student achievement improves when parents are involved in their
child s education (2010). When an education system comes together with the family of their
students, the children tend to have a better understanding of the importance of school and working
their best to become as educated as they can be. Students who have not involved parents may feel
that they are at school only to be away from their parents. There are many reasons why children
drop out of school so it is the job of the school system and families to do whatever it takes to get the
student involved in their education. Once the student knows that everyone around them is
supporting their educational needs they are more likely to have a positive outlook towards school.
When they then become a parent they are more likely willing to be a partner in their future children
s educational experiences because of their positive attitude towards learning.
Why do you believe that some parents are reluctant to be involved in the educational process? ...

One major reason that I feel that parents are reluctant to work with schools is that they do not
trust the schools to do what is best for their child. Parents must believe and trust that the teacher
and school genuinely care about and are willing to do whatever is necessary to help their child
(2010). Once a school loses the trust of parents it is hard to build it up again. Parents may also
come into a school with a feeling of distrust because of their own educational experience. It is the
job of the school to try and work on every parental relationship and build the trust

Kroc later purchased the McDonald brothers equity in the company and led its worldwide
expansion, and the company became listed on the public stock markets in 1965. Kroc was also
noted for aggressive business practices, compelling the McDonald brothers to leave the fast

documented in both Kroc s autobiography and in the McDonald brothers autobiography. The
site of the McDonald brothers original restaurant is now a monument. With the expansion of

Durian fruit. When people ask me how I feel about my Vietnamese culture, the first thing that
comes to mind is durian fruit. Unlike the strawberries or cherries found at Safeway, durian fruit at
first glance does not even look edible. The entire fruit resembles a dirty old football, except that
durian weighs nearly three pounds. One inch spikes and a tough brown outer peel cover the fruit,
giving it an intimidating look. Inside, yellow, kidney shaped pieces line the peel like orange slices.
As a child, I hated durian. I refused to even taste it. Later on, when I was older, my mother bribed
me with two dollars to try the meaty flesh. I fell in love with the fruit instantly. Its heavenly aroma

I dreamed of living in a big house like his, with nice new furniture. I wanted my parents to be just
like his caring, loving, and smiling all the time. Richie s parents always seemed to be home.
Never once did Richie come home to an empty house. He always joyfully greeted his mother after
school by tossing his books on the couch, running over to give her a hug, and saying, Mother, dear,
I am home. If I could not have all of this, I decided, I would settle for merely hanging out with the
white, American crowd. After all, Richie Cunningham hung out with white guys at Al s Cafe. To be
like Richie Cunningham, I concluded, was to be American.
Sometimes, after watching Happy Days, I would pull a chair into the cramped little bathroom in
our apartment and look at myself in the cracked mirror above the rusty sink. I always felt sad. In
the cracked reflection, I saw a small face with no blue eyes, no red hair, and no red freckles. I
wondered if my skin would ever fade to the nicer shade of white. I even tried to imitate Richie s
clean, accent free voice and realized that I could not get rid of the Vietnamese influence on my
English. As the years passed, I still lugged that same chair into the same decrepit bathroom,
realizing more and more every year that my dreams of gaining Richie s stature would never come
true.
I looked to my Vietnamese parents to see if they shared any characteristics with Richie Cunningham

Technology Threatens Your Privacy Essay example
Privacy threats are currently the biggest threat to National Security today. The threats are not only
concerning to the government, however. An alarming 92% of Americans are concerned that the
power grid may be vulnerable to a cyber attack (Denholm). Although this is a more recent
development to the cyber threats we have experienced, this is not the first time that privacy threats
have stepped into the limelight as people are forced to watch their every online move.
There are twelve major ways technology threatens your online policy today. The first of these
threats is phishing. According to Riva Richmond, phishing is a ploy to gain personal information
that will help people to steal your identity. Hackers will send you fake e mails that ... Show more

This makes you vulnerable as you just shared very personal information with everyone on the
internet (Richmond).
The history of your web use may not be a big deal to you but it reveals a ton of information. It
reveals everything you have ever searched which means people can find out things like where you
bank, work, and go to school. Targeted advertising and cookies also are a threat to privacy because
companies collect a lot of information about us in order to figure out what we are likely to buy, and
to place their advertisements on our webpages. They get this sensitive information through cookies
which they place on our computers, which allow them to access our personal information. Cloud
computing is also a huge threat because these sites, which often include e mail services, instant
messaging, and document services, do not have security features which protect our privacy and the
confidential things that we don t want other people to view (Richmond).
Electronic medical data has also become a source of concern when it comes to our privacy.
Although the federal government requires that medical data be kept private, it doesn t cover
programs like Google Health or Microsoft s HealthVault in those protection laws which raises the
risk of your medical information being breached. Public Wi Fi isn t exactly keeping our private
information safe either. They often don t encrypt data which makes it easier for hackers to gain

Safety Net Hospitals And The United States Health Care System
Safety net hospitals have played an important role in the United States health care system. They
provide a significant amount of care to low income, uninsured, and vulnerable populations. While
treating these types of populations, they are still able to provide high cost services such as trauma
and burn care. They often take on additional roles and responsibilities such as the training of
medical and nursing students (Coughlin et al., 2014). These hospitalsystems are well known for
their open door policy (Wynn et al., 2002). They will examine and treat all individuals, whether
or not they can pay for any of their services. The hospitals are not distinguished from other
providers by ownership. Some are publicly owned and operated by local or state governments,
while others are non profit. However, they are distinguished by their commitment to provide access
to care for all individuals with limited or no access to health care due to their finical circumstances,
insurance status or health condition (What is a Safety Net Hospital, 2015).
Due to safety net hospitals urban locations, they tend to treat more uninsured patients who will
frequently show up in the emergency room. Even if their care is not critical or an emergency, these
patients cannot be turned away. A study performed by an urban institute estimated that the costs of
uncompensated care to these hospitals were as high as forty five billion dollars in 2013.
Government programs will help with approximately 65% of

A Little Bit Of The Vietnamese Culture
America has been nicknamed the melting pot. Many cultures have come together within the United
States making it possible for American citizens to be able to participate in other cultures without
leaving the United States. As a result of the diversity found in America, I have been able to
experience a little bit of the Vietnamese culturethrough my friend, Kim. Kim has been a great
source of insight regarding the leadershiputilized within the Vietnamese culture.
Kim s family is from Vietnam and moved here in the early 1980 s. Kim and her older siblings
were born in Vietnam. Her younger siblings were born in America. Her family has maintained their
Vietnamese cultural roots and have adopted very little of the American culture. Kim graduated from
high school and college in Minnesota. She works in a leadership position for the state of Minnesota
and frequently travels to Vietnam.
Kim s approach to organizational life is very structured. In her personal and work life she starts
her day out by organizing her list of tasks that she would like to have completed or addressed by
the end of the day. She provides an educated guess as to how long these tasks should take,
however, she stays flexible if one task seems to take a little longer than expected. This is similar
to how she organizes the tasks she would like her team members to be working on. When
assigning tasks she does provide a ball park estimate as to how long the task should take. However
with her team she remains flexible

Psychoanalytic Therapy Freud s views continue to influence contemporary practice. Many of his
basic concepts are still part of the foundation on which other theorists build and develop. Some
extended the psychoanalytic model, others modified its concepts and procedures, and others
emerged as a reaction against it. Freud initially shaped psychotherapy by calling attention to
psychodynamic factors that motivate behavior, by focusing on the role of the unconscious, and by
developing the first therapeutic procedures for understanding and modifying the structure of one s
basic character.Freud s theory is a benchmark against which many other theories are measured. This
chapter focuses on basic psychoanalytic concepts and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

material.Needs and motivations that are inaccessible or out of our awareness, are also outside the
sphere of conscious control. Most psychological functioning exists in the out of awareness

My Personal Teaching Style And My Student s Learning Styles
I thoroughly enjoyed the reading, Learning and Teaching Styles In Foreign and Second Language
Education by Richard M. Felder Eunice R. Henriques. I have related this reading selection to my
personal teaching/ learning style and my student s learning styles, but especially to one particular
student that I work with.
The students on my caseload have disabilities that range from the following: verbal, sensory,
auditory skills, and emotional and behavior disorders.
Most of my students have specific learning disabilities that relate to the basic psychological
processes that involve, understanding or using spoken or written language, which may contribute to
their ability to listen, think, speak, read, write, spell and to perform mathematical calculations.
One of my students, who I will refer to as, JV has a behavior disorder. It s important to note that
children with behavioral disorders do not necessarily have learning disabilities. JV is achieving
above grade level with his reading fluency, yet requires ongoing support with behavior issues. To
be specific, he is constantly making noises, will get out of his seat and roam about the room, lose
focus and begin talking about different things that interest him. It is very difficult for JV to
maintain focus for long unless a stimulating environment is provided.
I decided to reach JV by providing material that is of interest to him. Stories that relate to his
interest that he has selected are being used with instructional

Grendel Vs Beowulf
The story of Beowulf has been told for centuries all over Europe. However, there is one problem
with recreating the story and making it into a movie; each movie has a different plot line, theme,
or character back story. The differences in the movies may or may not have a large effect on the
overall story, but it does show how much stories can change just by the person that is telling the
story.
For instance, in the first movie we watched, Beowulf 2005, Grendel was a troll whose mother was a
sea beast and his father was a troll. In Beowulf 2005, Grendel spoke using a series of grunting
noises and spoke very little English. In the second movie Beowulf 2007, Grendel was a monster
whose mother was a sea beast, but his father was King Hrothgar. This time Grendel communicated
by speaking in old English. These differences are very minuscule, but they had a large impact on
the ending of each movie. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Reflection Of My Value
What is my value? Value is a nebulous and highly subjective concept. How do I determine the
qualities in myself and others that are desirable? What I value in others and myself may be
completely different than what others value in me and what they value about themselves. I believe
that what I find valuable in myself is a reflection of what I valuein others, which can vary
depending on the situation. Kindness, empathy, and compassion are some of the qualities I value
in others and myself. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you (Mark 7:12 Revised
Standard Version). These are words I live by every day. This phrase is not an empty platitude to
me, as I fervently believe that we reap what we sow when interacting with others.
When conflict arises, I always try to look at the situation from the other person s point of view
while also trying to communicate my own perspective and concerns. A little empathy and mutual
respect can go a long way, and I appreciate it greatly when others afford me the same
consideration. Perhaps this is why I have had success over the years working with difficult people
that others struggle to collaborate or communicate with. It is very rare for me to run across
someone with whom I cannot find some sort of common ground to build at least a passable
working relationship.
Although we learned about the possible dangers of extreme collectivism and the importance of I
this semester while reading Ayn Rand s Anthem (1938), I tend to put the

Peeking Behind the Masks In Cold Blood, Streetcar Named Desire, and Fences
In life, we all attempt to project some kind of personality to others. We have a mask we wear in
different situations, but when times get tough, we eventually discard our masks and become our
true selves. We don t live behind our masks until the tragic end, like the characters of In Cold Blood
by Truman Capote, Streetcar Named Desire by Tennessee Williams, and Fences by August Wilson.
The three characters, Perry Smith, Blanche DuBois, and Troy Maxson wore masks to their bitter
endings, always trying to fool everyone else. When times got tough, they had to face themselves,
and they could not stand the sight.
The characters of Blanche ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Harris states that DuBois masks her life. She doesn t want to face what she really is. The worst
horror for her in her mind is for anyone else to see her true self.
The audience does see it almost right away, and they know from the first representation of
DuBois that they are in for something else. Williams sets up DuBois scenes so the audience can
quickly ascertain her true personality. The audience is, however, aware that baths and light bulbs
have a meaning for Blanche apart from their functional existence (Corrigan 575). Mary Ann
Corrigan writes that DuBois is far from perfect, and the audience can see just that in her drinking
of alcohol and her slight comments towards her sister and brother in law (575). Yet, the whole
time she is hiding behind her mask, she tells everyone she only has a drink once in a while, and
she needs her baths to relax.
The audience cannot mistake that Dubois does know who she really is, and what her situation
holds for her. For this reason, she chooses to hide behind her mask of a southern belle, with her old
dresses, rituals, and paper shaded light bulbs (Vogel 505).
Dan Vogel states in his book The Three Masks of American Tragedy,
She is beyond the capability of even attempting to control and manipulate the world about her.
Obviously she recognizes truth, and the truth is that her life is compounded

Good Practices For On Line Stores
2.1. Good Practices For On line Stores
An on line retailing has developed significantly during the past decade. Early e commerce stores
were created with web designs comparable to tables or list like catalogues, which may no longer
satisfy on line customers. Moreover the number of products for sale on the Internet, has increased
considerably, increasing the customers difficulty in choosing and finding the right products .
For that reasons, the web developers face a new challenge. The most important challenge is no
longer to present well stored list of products but to encourage customers to browse, increase their
satisfaction throughout shopping on line and finally spend more.
Nowadays on line sellers and web developers interact with ... Show more content on

section is also important and should include key question regarding e.g. buying and paying process,

featured products from this page with the relevant products on Shop page, which will simplify the
shopping process.
To improve an on line selling, Magento (e commerce platform), suggest :

mindset in which an individual acts during a wilderness adventure in order to benefit the group.
Using this idea as a framework, Furman and Sibthorp look to see how expedition behavior is
transferred from a wilderness setting to regular daily life. To test this, the researcher sent online
questionnaire to individuals that partook in 14 day long backpacking trips through the National

behavior and how they use it in their daily life. From the results, they found that participants used

The best funds for the past few years have been no load index funds . These are passively managed
to simply mimic the performance of major stock and bond indexes vs. trying to outperform them.
Since time has vindicated the fact that actively managed funds DO NOT significantly outperform
over the longer term, why pay an upfront sales charge (load) of 5% (or more) to invest, and/or 2%

History of Early North American Colonies Essay
The European conquest for establishing North American colonies began with various motivations,
each dependent on different, and/or merging necessities: economics, the desire to flee negative
societal aspects, and the search for religious freedoms. Originally discovered by Christopher
Columbus in 1492 in search for a trade route to Cathay (China), North America remained
uninhabited, excluding the Native American establishments. Following this discovery, Spain along
with other European nations such as France, England, Sweden and the Netherlands soon began the

When traveling to London from urban areas created overpopulation in the city, and increasingly
horrendous conditions, the move to a more prosperous land seemed more and more inviting. This
idea was further enhanced by the works of English Richard Hakluyt in novels such as The Principal
Navigations, Voyages, and Discoveries of the English Nation, and Voyages, where readers were
given false insight into a vastly successful New World, theoretically open for prosperous settlement.
Those which moved to London with abortive attempts to find work, or which experienced the
scarcity of food/land supplies between 1580 and 1650, found these inviting opportunities as an
escape to otherwise, inevitable poverty. Conversely, those living in stable, prosperous societies,

Essay Comparing The Flying Machine And Harrison Bergeron
According to all known morals, the government should not abuse its power to wrongfully prosecute
citizens and rule in a way that metaphorically imprisons the citizens in a political system that takes
away their rights. But the fictional governments created by authors of The Flying Machine and
Harrison Bergeron don t care about what morals dictate. These authors do what they want with
satirical implications and universal implications that both discuss topics of symbols of freedom and
how they have been abused or destroyed by the government.
Both the character of Harrison Bergeron from Harrison Bergeron and the inventor from The
Flying Machine are symbols for freedom. Harrison Bergeron is a symbol for freedom because he
sheds his handicaps ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In Harrison Bergeron , the government traps the citizen to make them all equal , which means
giving them handicaps to stunt their natural features and talents and reverse them into
shortcomings. Handicaps include things such as earpieces that play loud noises so your thoughts
become interrupted, or weights around parts of the body if you re strong. Taking off the handicaps,
even temporarily, results in punishment for apparent unfair use of their brain/face/etc. Furthermore,
the government enforces the handicaps as a notion to be regarded as what God have them , even
though the government gave the people the handicaps, altering what the true God/universe/biology
gives a person, which is the exact opposite of what the government gives them. This is shown when
Hazel says He did the best with what God gave him, when she talks about the stuttering announcer.
This means the government conditions the people to regard the government as a higher power, and
takes away the citizens abilities to recognize the injustices of the system. Therefore, the government
is using an elaborate brainwashing scheme. In The Flying Machine , even though this is in the year
400 AD and therefore before a system of democracy or right to fair trial had a place in the world,
the Emperor orders the prosecution of a man for what can be considered

Plato, The, And The Myth Of Er
In 399 BCE, nineteen years before Plato transcribed Republic, classical Greek philosopher Socrates
was formally put on trial and executed on the citation of two impious acts: having failed to
acknowledge the gods that the city acknowledges and introducing new deities. These two
recognized accusations, and the punishment that Socratespaid for them through a poisonous
hemlock based liquid, was witnessed by his student, Plato. Plato was inspired to later write
Socratic works and dialogues dedicated to Socrates memory and teachings; including his Republic,
in which Socrates (through defining justice ) develops a perfect city in speech. In this dialogue, the

It s important that Socrates was walking back from a religious festival at the start of the dialogue,
because it helps modern readers better understand religion in contemporary Ancient Greek culture.
For the purposes of this essay, the definition of religion will be that of the Oxford Dictionary s,
the belief in and worship of a superhuman controlling power, especially a personal God or gods.
(Oxford). At the time, while Plato was still alive in Ancient Greece(424 348 BCE), religion was
used to account for acts of nature that were unexplained. Religion was used to relate to our human
nature it is our nature to ask questions, or to contemplate, and religion offered answers to many of
those more difficult questions, questions dealing with our existence, the nature of reality, and the
notion of the soul. But beyond these questions, religion (especially at the time) was used in
attempts to influence fortune in both this world and beyond. This is why the Ancient Greeks built
their temples and made their sacrificial offerings to their gods, and the reason why many who
worship modern religions today pray and make effort to form connections with God. For many,
religion offers a sense of spiritual placement and purpose (Theo), and it created a common bond
between people in their poleis;

Symptoms And Treatment Of Vascular Closure
Background
Vascular closure devices following cardiac catherization through the femoral artery have been
gaining significant traction since its use in the mid 1990s. Compared to the previous gold standard
of manual compression, VCDs allow for shortened time to ambulation, decreased duration of
hospitalization post procedure, and increased patient comfort. The devices have also shown
safeness comparable to manual compression. Despite the many advantages and variety of devices
available, there are still complications to take into account. More common issues include device
failure, bleeding, and hematoma. Less common but more serious complications include infection,
ischemia, limb loss, and death.

Due to these findings patient was directly admitted to the hospital and placed on a heparin drip. On
physical exam patient had absent pulses below the right femoral artery. However, there was no
discoloration, change of temperature, or sensory as well as motor deficits of the right lower
extremity. Patient was taking a low dose aspirin and red yeast rice for cholesterol management at
that time.
The following morning the patient underwent successful angioplasty of the right common femoral
artery with thrombectomy and a 6 x 20 mm balloon angioplasty, reducing a 90% stenosis to less
than 30%. A spider catheter was deployed to perform the thrombectomy, however an atrial blazer
catheter failed to retrieve the spider device as it was unable to completely collapse. As a result the
patient was taken to the OR for vascular surgery. The spider basket was retrieved through the wall
of the common femoral artery with its contents.
The specimen was sent to pathology, which noted a foreign body device surrounded by soft tissue
attached to the spider device. The foreign body was noted to be a Angio Seal plug from the left heart
catheterization that had been presumed a thrombus.
Discussion
Promising results have shown that the Angio seal VCD has excellent efficacy and safety after
routine catheterization and intervention. However, clear indications of use and risk of
complications need to be evaluated and monitored.

What Do You Mean By Bringing Your Dog To Work
In the first passage, it describes why bringing your dog to work would be a good idea. Research
shows dogs help bring stress, and anxiety down. They also believe employees would work longer if

Themes In The Necklace, By Guy De Maupassant
Introduction
The Necklace is a unique story, which serves as a lesson for all to learn; since life is
unpredictable, we ought to be content with what we have and who we are, no matter the
circumstances. The story by Guy De Maupassant, was well written and with clarity, transition
from one scene to another was brilliant, and speaks a volume about the significance of
contentment. The story which talks about Madame Loisel the wife of a clerk, and how her
desire and greed to be like the upper class, led her and her husband to ten years of rigid labor in
order to replace the missing necklace she borrowed from a friend to attend an extravagant party.
Theme
The theme that I observe in The Necklace , by Guy De Maupassant, is a pleasure seeking and
conceited wife of a clerk. The wife Mathilde who was married to a clerk that could not cater to
her elaborate life style created a for her a decent or luxury life due to scarcity can only imagine
those beautiful and expensive things start to develop self indulgence and pride. Exercising the
concept of self indulgence, envy her rich friend (schoolmate) and decide not to pay her a visit
since after going back to her own house is left with unsettling memories (Barnet et al, 2011). In
addition, Mathilde egotism and self indulgence led her and husband to a life of intense labor and
poverty, in order to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

It s so easy for propaganda to work, and dissent to be mocked, believes Harold Pinter, Nobel Prize

totalitarian government of Among the Hidden will affect citizens, baron or farmer. Either way,
there will be attempts to voice other sides of the story. The governmentis spreading lies about the

Luke is the third child of a farmer s family, and propaganda deeply interfered with his life. Ever
since he was a toddler, he was obliged to a strict set of rules from his paranoid parents. Then they
started running all that on TV about the Population Police, how the Population Police had ways of
finding out everything, how they d do anything to enforce the law... And your dad started hearing

was telling him about the government s propaganda, the propaganda they had believed. Luke s
parents fell right into the government s trap of lies. Therefore, Luke was forbidden from watching
TV, using the computer, or calling someone on the phone, blocking him from the outside world.

doctrines of the government changed Luke s life.

Crime And Punishment And Hamlet
Fyodor Dostoevsky and William Shakespeare are well known authors of their time. The two have
written numerous classics, including Crime and Punishment, and Hamlet, respectively. Through
writing these pieces of literature, Dostoevsky and Shakespeare were able to establish thematic
elements that convey human emotion and understanding. Their use of thought and over analysis is
able to express common human emotion of indecision and confusion, while their use of the thought
of existenceallows for the reader to connect with the characters, and find ways to come to terms
with their existence on Earth.
A thematic element present in both Crime and Punishment and Hamlet is that of over analysis and
thought. In Crime and Punishment, on page seven when Raskolnikov is confronted by a drunk
man about his hat, Raskolnikov thinks about how obvious his hat is compared to the rest of his
dress:
Yes, by hat is too noticeable ... It looks absurd and that makes it noticeable ... With my rags I
ought to wear a cap, any old pancake, but not this grotesque thing. Nobody wears hats like this, it
would be noticed a mile off, it would be remembered ... What matters is that people would
remember it, and that would give them a clue. For this business I should be as unnoticeable as
possible ... (Dostoevsky 7) Raskolnikov s meticulous analysis of his attire even before he commits
the two murders shows how analytical of his surroundings he is. Raskolnikov is also very
analytical of his actions. While out and

2003), the Appellate Court held that evidence supported a finding that a husband s sole intent in
transferring residence into tenancy by the entirety was to avoid paying debts existing at time of
transfer. In LaSalle Bank, the appellate court affirmed a judgment against the husband in September
3, 1999. Id. at 281. The husband transferred the property from him and his wife in joint tenancy to

The Appellate Court reasoned that the Trial Court s finding that the husband transferred the
property to tenancy by the entirety solely to avoid a judgment creditor was not against the manifest
weight of the evidence because 1) the husband owned less than $4,000 of assets at the time he
transferred the property into tenancy by the entirety,
2) the husband didn t make the transfer around 1998 when he was advised to do so by a family
attorney in order to protect the estate and make the transfer easier upon his death, since his assets
were tied up in the business,
3) the husband did not own the residence individually or as a tenant in common with his wife, in
which case there may have been a legitimate reason to transfer the property to tenancy by the
entirety other than to avoid a judgment debt.

Causes And Effects Of Hurricane Sandy
Hurricane Sandy was a massive hurricane that formed in the Caribbean, and affected 24 states
on the east coast of the United States. The hurricane killed 203 people in total, destroying
everything in its path, and leaving many people homeless. Hurricanes are often measured on a
scale of categories 1 to 5, with a category 1 having winds of around 80 km/h, and a category 5
having winds of over 250 km/h. Hurricane Sandy was only a category 2 hurricane, but it s
massive size gave it momentum, and allowed it to travel a longer distance. The winds went over
130 kilometers per hour, and water levels flooded over 9 feet. The hurricane hit hard up north,
where it devastated cities with flooding, extensive building damage, and power outages for
millions of people before it stopped. Hurricane Sandy began near Florida, and worked it s way
all the way up north. The physical geography changes as the hurricane moved north. In the
Caribbean, it is relatively warm year round, and is mostly surrounded by water. Further up north,
the water and temperature gets colder. The elevation is fairly close to sea level and there aren t
many mountains or hilly terrain. Hurricanes occur over low pressure areas above warm water.
They fuel off warm water vapour that is evaporated over the ocean, and slowly die as the water
gets colder. This would justify Hurricane Sandy s path, as it began near Caribbean, where the air is
moist and the water is warm, providing plenty of fuel

Are Law Enforcement Cameras Invasion Of Privacy Essay
Are law enforcement cameras an invasion of privacy?
For law enforcement cameras are extremely important! The cameras will show the truth and
nothing but the truth! It will also show what actually happened, like if the cop got an accident on
film then they can figure out what happened. With body cameras, it can help decide what a person
is convicted of because you get to see what the cop sees. Also, if the cops didn t have cameras and
microphones, then how can you tell that the person convicted of something is actually telling the
truth? So how is showing and telling the truth invading someone s privacy?
If the cop does have a camera on him or on the dash of his car, it will show what actually
happened instead of what the criminal says. The person convicted of whatsoever might try to lie
and try to get out of it, but with a camera he can t get away with it! If you are a cop in a car and
pull someone over, you can use the film to show that they were being lied to if they found drugs

between a scientist and his wife. The narrator tells the story of Aylmer, a brilliant scientist and
philosopher, becoming obsessed with the removal of a birthmark on his wife, Georgiana. The
birthmark is in the shape of a tiny hand on the cheek of her face, which symbolizes humanity in the
story. If it wasn t for the birthmark, Aylmer believes his wife would be perfect, although no one is
human unless you are imperfect. This hypothesis is proven when Aylmer convinces his wife to let
him remove the birthmark and her human life is taken. Because no human is the world is perfect,

Her character is naГЇve and completely content and confident with her appearance and self being.
To tell you the truth, it has been so often called a charm, that I was simple enough to imagine it
might be so, a quote from Georgiana as she describes her birthmark. She is changed once her
husband, Aylmer, begins to be bothered by her birthmark. As he starts to shudder at the sight of
her face, her character turns corrupted and insecure. She then thinks her life is worthless unless
her husband is pleases with the sight of her. The two forget that humans are flawed and once her
only flaw is removed she may lose her human life. Basically, Georgiana would rather die than have
her husband be disgusted by her

St Joseph Research Paper
Deep in the thick swamps and woods of Northern Gulf County, amidst the buzz and sting of
mosquitoes, chirps of squirrels, and swirls of the Apalachicola, is a long lost story. One hundred
and eighty years ago the town of Iola sprang out of the cypress swamp of what is now north east
Gulf County. That small community, was, and still is an enigma in the wilderness of territorial
Florida and has all but faded from the memory of Gulf County and is nothing but a boat ramp
now. You cannot discuss Iola without first discussing Saint Joseph. Saint Joseph began its short
life in the mid 1830 s after a Supreme Court decision on the Forbes land grants in nearby
Apalachicola. Forbes Co. was formerly the Panton Leslie Co, located in Pensacola. The Panton
Leslie Co. was a trading company that acquired a substantial amount of land along the
Apalachicola River and surrounding area of lands prior to Florida becoming a United Statescolony.

Businessmen E.J. Wood and Rev Peter W. Gautier started to plan for a way to gain access to the
Apalach . Lake Wimico, about eight miles away, could access the river by bayous, so the Saints,
as the Saint Joseph businessmen began to call themselves, first decided on a canal to bring the
cargo from the steamboat to the wharf. The Lake Wimico and St. Joseph Canal Company was
chartered by the legislative council of the territory of Florida in 1835 and later renamed to the
Lake Wimico and St. Joseph Canal and Railroad company. The canal never made it off the
drawing table before a railroad replaced it. In October 1835, Lake Wimico and St. Joseph Canal
and Railroad Company broke ground on the first steam railroad in Florida. It ran from Depot
Creek on Lake Wimico, to Saint Joseph. In May of 1836, the first steam powered locomotive
traveled from Saint Joseph to Depot Creek. Eight miles in twenty five

The Culture Of The Italian Culture
The Description The cultural group I decided to gain more insight on through this experience was
the Italian culture. Explain history and describe! The immersion experiences in which I participated
were great opportunities to learn about the culture in more depth. The first experience I was able to
attend was on June 13, 2015. In downtown Indianapolis Indiana, I had the opportunity to attend the
Italian Culture Festival. Organized each year by the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, this festival was
full of music, cultural food, and I was lucky enough to experience a traditional Italian religious
procession and Mass(Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 2015). The festival was packed with people
from the city and from the Italian culture. I had never experienced a festival such as the one held
in Indianapolis. Being from the east coast and not of the Italian culture, the festival was a
refreshing yet, uncomfortable experience at times. I observed a traditional dance, the tarantella
and those around the area all seemed to know most of the steps or the words to some of the
songs in the set they played. The locals tried to get me to dance along but, I could not keep up
with them on the fly. The tarantella is one of the most famous of Italian dances and performers
dance quickly to an upbeat song (Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 2015). It is said that the
performers sweat out the poison of a deadly tarantula and the dance could last for hours and could
be religious in nature to some.

Management And The Importance Of Maintenance Management
Maintenance Management is an orderly and systematic approach to planning, organizing,
monitoring and evaluating maintenance activities and their costs. A good maintenance
management system coupled with knowledgeable and capable maintenance staff can prevent
breakdown problems and environmental damage; yield longer assetlife with fewer breakdowns; and
result in lower operating costs and a higher quality of instruments. The term maintenancemeans to
keep the equipment in operational condition or repair it to its operational mode. Main objective of
the maintenance is to have increased availability of production systems, with increased safety and
optimized cost. Maintenance management involves managing the functions of maintenance.
Maintaining equipment in the field has been a challenging task since the beginning of industrial
revolution. Since then, a significant of progress has been made to maintain equipment effectively in

The Heroic Women Of Othello
Olivia Seeney
Dr. Michael Elam
ENGL 211 Brit Lit: Middle Age 18th Century
5 December, 2015
The Heroic Women of Othello A hero is a man or woman distinguished by the performance of
courageous or noble actions (Oxford English Dictionary). In a male dominated society, such as the
one displayed in the play Othello, many of the heroic attributes of the female characters are
overlooked, and they are labeled as either weak or insignificant. However, some of the female roles
within this play are more important and heroic than their male counterparts. The particularly
important women in Othello are the characters Desdemona and Emilia. They are unlike each other in
many ways, yet both are equally strong in their own ways. While Desdemona remains silent and
faithful in the face of adversity, Emilia is outspoken and independent. While the male characters in
this play use their actions to express their dominance, the females use their wit and words to show
their strength against the men that try to oppress them. This play seeks to show the women as they
are: strong, intelligent, and important although they are mistreated by their male counterparts. Both
women attribute heroic attributes to the plot of the play and continue to influence their society
even after death. The women of Othello showed themselves to be the true protagonists of the play
through their unending loyalty, bravery in the face of opposition, and distinct personalities that
complimented one another in order to

study from the moment you meet the study participant (Johnson Christensen, 2008, P. 95).
Before I conduct my research in an elementary school in south eastern part of America, I will
work as a voluntary art teacher in every Thursday afternoon from 2:30 3:30 pm for a fourth
grade art class in the beginning of the semester. In this process, students and I will get know
each other. After one month teaching in fourth grade art class, I will inform my students that I
will do an action research in this class. Then I will explain the research topic and research
question to students. Then I will give each students a set of consent form: participants consent
form and parent consent form. In the following week, I will collect these two consent forms by
myself. Then, I will mark down those will participant in research and those will not participant in
research. For those who will not participant in research, they will still have class with their
classmates in class. But their worksheets and artworks will not be collected for this research.

Examining the Behavior Between Media and Antisocial...
Nowadays, aggressive and violent behaviour have been said to be caused by media violence in
many researches. Media violence has been defined as visual portrayals of acts of physical
aggression by one human or human like character against another while violent behaviour is
defined as overt and intentional physically aggressive behaviour against another person.
I found that PsycINFO database from Ovid is useful and reliable as apart from providing clear
reference details for every text, it highlights keywords in search results, and this really raise
efficiency. The following three research papers are the most relevant sources for this topic.
The increased public concern about the effects of violence displayed by different media, including

Raw data was analysed with log linear logistic regression analyses.
The findings indicated that despite the existence of a history of aggressive behaviour, the
hypothesis are supported. It was also consistent with the hypothesis that extensive television
viewing helps to explain the association between certain environmental risks and subsequent
aggressive behaviour, and also the bidirectional relationship between television violence and
aggressive behaviour.
The difference in the content of programs watched by males and females during adolescence and
early adulthood is yet to be explored. There has been little research has tested the general effect of
violent lyrics on aggressive behaviour while holding musical tone constant, even very little research
directly comparing the effects of media violence presented through visual and auditory modes.
This study was aimed to examine the effect of violent lyrics with musical tone held constant and
compare the violent visual and auditory media effects.
There were two hypotheses raised from this study:
1. Music lyric combinations would arouse more aggression than music alone or lyric alone
aggression. 2. Violent music lyrics, adding to any priming effects from violent visual media, would
further increase the probability of aggressive behaviour.
Participants in this study were 194 university students and staff (99 females, 85 males) most of

Security Measures And Encryption Standard
Abstract Security is one of the primary concern in today s era.Lots of Cryptographic Schemes are
evolved in order to accomplish this.Advanced encryption standard is one of the secure
cryptographic schemes now a days. The Proposed architecture incorporates the AES 128 bit
Algorithm, compares the features of Core AES and Pipelined AES (on the basis of device
utilization summary). The design is synthesized on the device Vertex 5 using XilinxISE.
Keywords component; formatting; style; styling; insert (key words) I.INTRODUCTION The large
and growing number of internet and wireless communication users has led to an increasing demand
of security measures and devices for protecting the user data transmitted over the unsecured network
so that unauthorized persons cannot access it. The increasing need for Secured data communication
has led to development of several cryptography algorithms [31]. Cryptography uses the encryption
algorithm and a key to send confidential data through an insecure channel[26] There are mainly
two types of encryption algorithms, private key (also called symmetric key) and public key.
Private key algorithms involve only one key, both for encryption and decryption whereas, public
key algorithms involve two keys, one for encryption and other for decryption [29]. The public key
algorithm is complex and has very high computation time. Private key algorithm is simple and
therefore, it is more suitable for faster implementation [30].

  • 2. The Death Penalty Is A Form Of Execution I.Introduction The death penalty is a form of execution used in the United States. The federal death penalty can be used in any state or territory of the U.S. even in states that do not have it. There are currently 32 states including North Carolina that have the death penalty. Its purpose was to deter crime from happening. Therefore, creating a safer environment. Unfortunately this has not been the case. The death penalty has claimed innocent lives, ruined lives, is issued at random unfairly, and does not decrease the crime rate. It should be abolished by all states because it does not work. II.History Britain influenced America s use of the death penalty more than any other country. When European settlers came to the new world (now the United States). They brought capital punishment. The first recorded execution in the new colonies was that of Captain George Kendall in the Jamestown colony of Virginia in 1608. He was killed for being a spy for Spain. Death penalty laws were different from colony to colony. It was Cesare Beccaria s 1767 essay On Crimes and Punishment that had a strong impact throughout the world on the justification for the state s taking of a life1. The first attempt to reform the death penalty in the U.S. occurred when Thomas Jefferson introduced a bill to revise Virginia s death penalty laws. The bill proposed that capital punishment be used only for crimes of murder and treason. It was defeated by only one vote1. In 1946, Michigan was ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Compare And Contrast Jackson And Thomas Jefferson Josh Herzer US History to 1877 Dr. Bachhofer 07 07 2015 Critical Essay 2 For my second critical essay in this course I have elected to tackle the subject of the lives, attitudes, and presidencies of Andrew Jackson and Thomas Jefferson. I will compare the two and state how they are alike and how they are different. Then the last thing I will do is choose and explain who I believe was the more effective leader. Both were very influential and effective presidents in the development of the early United States, but Thomas Jefferson was the more effective leader in my humble opinion. In his political career he served on both the House of Representatives and then the Senate. He was nominated for president in 1824 but lost to John Quincy Adams. He was nominated again in 1828 and this time was successful. Jackson went through a conflict with the state of South Carolina wanting to secede from the Union because of the Tariff of Abominations. • 5. Working With Parents In your opinion, why is the parent partnership important in the education of a student? Research has clearly proven that student achievement improves when parents are involved in their child s education (2010). When an education system comes together with the family of their students, the children tend to have a better understanding of the importance of school and working their best to become as educated as they can be. Students who have not involved parents may feel that they are at school only to be away from their parents. There are many reasons why children drop out of school so it is the job of the school system and families to do whatever it takes to get the student involved in their education. Once the student knows that everyone around them is supporting their educational needs they are more likely to have a positive outlook towards school. When they then become a parent they are more likely willing to be a partner in their future children s educational experiences because of their positive attitude towards learning. Why do you believe that some parents are reluctant to be involved in the educational process? ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One major reason that I feel that parents are reluctant to work with schools is that they do not trust the schools to do what is best for their child. Parents must believe and trust that the teacher and school genuinely care about and are willing to do whatever is necessary to help their child (2010). Once a school loses the trust of parents it is hard to build it up again. Parents may also come into a school with a feeling of distrust because of their own educational experience. When people ask me how I feel about my Vietnamese culture, the first thing that comes to mind is durian fruit. The entire fruit resembles a dirty old football, except that durian weighs nearly three pounds. One inch spikes and a tough brown outer peel cover the fruit, giving it an intimidating look. Inside, yellow, kidney shaped pieces line the peel like orange slices. As a child, I hated durian. I refused to even taste it. They provide a significant amount of care to low income, uninsured, and vulnerable populations. While treating these types of populations, they are still able to provide high cost services such as trauma and burn care. They often take on additional roles and responsibilities such as the training of medical and nursing students (Coughlin et al., 2014). What I value in others and myself may be completely different than what others value in me and what they value about themselves. I believe that what I find valuable in myself is a reflection of what I valuein others, which can vary depending on the situation. Kindness, empathy, and compassion are some of the qualities I value in others and myself. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you (Mark 7:12 Revised Standard Version). These are words I live by every day. This phrase is not an empty platitude to me, as I fervently believe that we reap what we sow when interacting with others. When conflict arises, I always try to look at the situation from the other person s point of view while also trying to communicate my own perspective and concerns. A little empathy and mutual respect can go a long way, and I appreciate it greatly when others afford me the same consideration. Perhaps this is why I have had success over the years working with difficult people that others struggle to collaborate or communicate with. It is very rare for me to run across someone with whom I cannot find some sort of common ground to build at least a passable working relationship. As a result the patient was taken to the OR for vascular surgery. The spider basket was retrieved through the wall of the common femoral artery with its contents. The specimen was sent to pathology, which noted a foreign body device surrounded by soft tissue attached to the spider device. The foreign body was noted to be a Angio Seal plug from the left heart catheterization that had been presumed a thrombus. Discussion Promising results have shown that the Angio seal VCD has excellent efficacy and safety after routine catheterization and intervention. Themes In The Necklace, By Guy De Maupassant Introduction The Necklace is a unique story, which serves as a lesson for all to learn; since life is unpredictable, we ought to be content with what we have and who we are, no matter the circumstances. The story by Guy De Maupassant, was well written and with clarity, transition from one scene to another was brilliant, and speaks a volume about the significance of contentment. The story which talks about Madame Loisel the wife of a clerk, and how her desire and greed to be like the upper class, led her and her husband to ten years of rigid labor in order to replace the missing necklace she borrowed from a friend to attend an extravagant party. Theme The theme that I observe in The Necklace , by Guy De Maupassant, is a pleasure seeking and conceited wife of a clerk. The wife Mathilde who was married to a clerk that could not cater to her elaborate life style created a for her a decent or luxury life due to scarcity can only imagine those beautiful and expensive things start to develop self indulgence and pride. Exercising the concept of self indulgence, envy her rich friend (schoolmate) and decide not to pay her a visit since after going back to her own house is left with unsettling memories (Barnet et al, 2011). • 28. Crime And Punishment And Hamlet Fyodor Dostoevsky and William Shakespeare are well known authors of their time. The two have written numerous classics, including Crime and Punishment, and Hamlet, respectively. Through writing these pieces of literature, Dostoevsky and Shakespeare were able to establish thematic elements that convey human emotion and understanding. Their use of thought and over analysis is able to express common human emotion of indecision and confusion, while their use of the thought of existenceallows for the reader to connect with the characters, and find ways to come to terms with their existence on Earth. A thematic element present in both Crime and Punishment and Hamlet is that of over analysis and thought. In Crime and Punishment, on page seven when Raskolnikov is confronted by a drunk man about his hat, Raskolnikov thinks about how obvious his hat is compared to the rest of his dress: Yes, by hat is too noticeable ... It looks absurd and that makes it noticeable ... With my rags I ought to wear a cap, any old pancake, but not this grotesque thing. • 31. Causes And Effects Of Hurricane Sandy Hurricane Sandy was a massive hurricane that formed in the Caribbean, and affected 24 states on the east coast of the United States. The hurricane killed 203 people in total, destroying everything in its path, and leaving many people homeless. Hurricanes are often measured on a scale of categories 1 to 5, with a category 1 having winds of around 80 km/h, and a category 5 having winds of over 250 km/h. Hurricane Sandy was only a category 2 hurricane, but it s massive size gave it momentum, and allowed it to travel a longer distance. The winds went over 130 kilometers per hour, and water levels flooded over 9 feet. The hurricane hit hard up north, where it devastated cities with flooding, extensive building damage, and power outages for millions of people before it stopped. Hurricane Sandy began near Florida, and worked it s way all the way up north. The physical geography changes as the hurricane moved north. In the Caribbean, it is relatively warm year round, and is mostly surrounded by water. Further up north, the water and temperature gets colder. The elevation is fairly close to sea level and there aren t many mountains or hilly terrain. Hurricanes occur over low pressure areas above warm water. They fuel off warm water vapour that is evaporated over the ocean, and slowly die as the water gets colder. This would justify Hurricane Sandy s path, as it began near Caribbean, where the air is moist and the water is warm, providing plenty of fuel ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 42. The Heroic Women Of Othello Olivia Seeney Dr. Michael Elam ENGL 211 Brit Lit: Middle Age 18th Century 5 December, 2015 The Heroic Women of Othello A hero is a man or woman distinguished by the performance of courageous or noble actions (Oxford English Dictionary). In a male dominated society, such as the one displayed in the play Othello, many of the heroic attributes of the female characters are overlooked, and they are labeled as either weak or insignificant. However, some of the female roles within this play are more important and heroic than their male counterparts. The particularly important women in Othello are the characters Desdemona and Emilia. They are unlike each other in many ways, yet both are equally strong in their own ways. While Desdemona remains silent and faithful in the face of adversity, Emilia is outspoken and independent. While the male characters in this play use their actions to express their dominance, the females use their wit and words to show their strength against the men that try to oppress them. This play seeks to show the women as they are: strong, intelligent, and important although they are mistreated by their male counterparts. Both women attribute heroic attributes to the plot of the play and continue to influence their society even after death. The women of Othello showed themselves to be the true protagonists of the play through their unending loyalty, bravery in the face of opposition, and distinct personalities that complimented one another in order to ... • 43. Fourth Grade Art Classroom Procedure In procedure section, researcher should describe how you are going to execute the study from the moment you meet the study participant (Johnson Christensen, 2008, P. 95). Before I conduct my research in an elementary school in south eastern part of America, I will work as a voluntary art teacher in every Thursday afternoon from 2:30 3:30 pm for a fourth grade art class in the beginning of the semester. In this process, students and I will get know each other. After one month teaching in fourth grade art class, I will inform my students that I will do an action research in this class. Then I will explain the research topic and research question to students. Then I will give each students a set of consent form: participants consent form and parent consent form. In the following week, I will collect these two consent forms by myself. Then, I will mark down those will participant in research and those will not participant in research. For those who will not participant in research, they will still have class with their classmates in class. But their worksheets and artworks will not be collected for this research. When finishing check the consent forms, I will conduct the lesson by myself in the following weeks. I will teach topics in the class. Each topic will have be finished... For example, the lesson is deal with the topic of animal protection and fashion industry, I will show relevant images to students and provide them background information. Then I will encourage students to consider why fashion industry would like to use animal s fur to make cloth? Students will discuss their ideas in group and share with classmates. Next, I will ask students to figure out solutions to solve this problem. I will ask them to draw a draft that reflect their solution using visual ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 44. Examining the Behavior Between Media and Antisocial... Nowadays, aggressive and violent behaviour have been said to be caused by media violence in many researches. Media violence has been defined as visual portrayals of acts of physical aggression by one human or human like character against another while violent behaviour is defined as overt and intentional physically aggressive behaviour against another person. I found that PsycINFO database from Ovid is useful and reliable as apart from providing clear reference details for every text, it highlights keywords in search results, and this really raise efficiency. The following three research papers are the most relevant sources for this topic. The increased public concern about the effects of violence displayed by different media, including ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Raw data was analysed with log linear logistic regression analyses. The findings indicated that despite the existence of a history of aggressive behaviour, the hypothesis are supported. It was also consistent with the hypothesis that extensive television viewing helps to explain the association between certain environmental risks and subsequent aggressive behaviour, and also the bidirectional relationship between television violence and aggressive behaviour. The difference in the content of programs watched by males and females during adolescence and early adulthood is yet to be explored. There has been little research has tested the general effect of violent lyrics on aggressive behaviour while holding musical tone constant, even very little research directly comparing the effects of media violence presented through visual and auditory modes. This study was aimed to examine the effect of violent lyrics with musical tone held constant and compare the violent visual and auditory media effects. There were two hypotheses raised from this study: 1. Music lyric combinations would arouse more aggression than music alone or lyric alone aggression. 2. Violent music lyrics, adding to any priming effects from violent visual media, would further increase the probability of aggressive behaviour. Participants in this study were 194 university students and staff (99 females, 85 males) most of whom were ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 45. Security Measures And Encryption Standard Abstract Security is one of the primary concern in today s era.Lots of Cryptographic Schemes are evolved in order to accomplish this.Advanced encryption standard is one of the secure cryptographic schemes now a days. The Proposed architecture incorporates the AES 128 bit Algorithm, compares the features of Core AES and Pipelined AES (on the basis of device utilization summary). The design is synthesized on the device Vertex 5 using XilinxISE. Keywords component; formatting; style; styling; insert (key words) I.INTRODUCTION The large and growing number of internet and wireless communication users has led to an increasing demand of security measures and devices for protecting the user data transmitted over the unsecured network so that unauthorized persons cannot access it. The increasing need for Secured data communication has led to development of several cryptography algorithms [31]. Cryptography uses the encryption algorithm and a key to send confidential data through an insecure channel[26] There are mainly two types of encryption algorithms, private key (also called symmetric key) and public key. Private key algorithms involve only one key, both for encryption and decryption whereas, public key algorithms involve two keys, one for encryption and other for decryption [29]. The public key algorithm is complex and has very high computation time. Private key algorithm is simple and therefore, it is more suitable for faster implementation [30]. The AES (Advanced ...
