Research Paper Vs Essay
Crafting an essay on the subject of "Research Paper vs Essay" can prove to be a challenging
endeavor. The difficulty lies in navigating the nuanced distinctions between these two forms of
academic writing. While both share commonalities, such as the need for clear structure, coherent
arguments, and well-supported evidence, they diverge in their purposes, methodologies, and
expectations.
Firstly, defining the scope of each is essential. Research papers typically require a deep
exploration of a specific topic, demanding a thorough literature review, comprehensive data
analysis, and the incorporation of relevant scholarly sources. On the other hand, essays may have
a broader focus, often encouraging personal reflection, creativity, and a more informal tone.
Distinguishing between the two becomes complex when considering the potential overlap. Some
essays may involve substantial research, blurring the lines between a standard essay and a
research paper. Striking the right balance between depth of analysis and the essay's inherent
flexibility can be a delicate task.
Moreover, the challenge lies in understanding the expectations of your audience or instructor. A
research paper might demand a meticulous adherence to a particular citation style, while an essay
may provide more leeway for individual expression. Negotiating these expectations while
maintaining a cohesive and engaging narrative adds another layer of difficulty.
In conclusion, tackling the task of comparing and contrasting research papers and essays
involves navigating a maze of academic conventions, stylistic considerations, and the inherent
complexity of each form. Achieving a nuanced understanding and presenting it eloquently is no
small feat. However, it's crucial to remember that with diligence and a solid grasp of the
nuances, one can navigate these challenges successfully.

In the case of Dalman and Lei discrepancy of the time sheet this can be resolved by
using none other than a control system called bureaucratic control system. First to
implement this system they must first understand what this system means. It is
designed to measure progress toward a set goal and to apply corrective measures to
ensure this goal is met. In other words control system is to detect and fix certain
variables and discrepancies turning into results of the ultimate goal. This process is
broken down into four parts. Setting a performance standards, Measuring
performance, comparing performance again the standards ... Show more content on

Now comes Step 3 which is comparing performance with the standard. This step
Dalman and Lei have their weekly results from their new system they implemented
and compare it with the goals they set. They can see the good and bad results that
came out of the system. Also participants can identify successful actions to
recommend in the future and avoid the mistakes next time around. For example,
let s say a employee had another employee clock in for each other and they didn t
go to the desk in work. The only way they can prove that it was indeed another
employee clocking in would be a camera of some sort. The best place that a camera
would be where the employees clock in. This is one of many examples that Dalman
and Lei can compare the performance with the standard they put in stone. This
comes to the last step of the system and that is taking action to correct the problems
and reinforce the successful ones. The selection of the corrective action depends on
the nature of the problem. If the problem was the system not recording the clocking
in of the employees, than the corrective action would be to call in a specialist control
and help figure out the problem with the system. Dalman and Lei need to keep the
successful standard and throw the non successful ones to the corrective action. To
ensure that the discrepancy doesn t appear or accrue
Alfred J Prufrock
The Love Song of Alfred J. Prufrock by T. S. Eliot is an excellent short poem about
a man reflecting back on his life and realizing that he is alone and might possibly
die alone. Eliot uses a variety of symbols, metaphors, and great diction to convey
that Prufrock is unsatisfied with his life, especially his love life. Eliot depicts
Prufrock as an older man reflecting back on his life, metaphorically, going through a
midlife crisis. I grow old... I grow old.../I shall wear the bottoms of my trousers
rolled, by this Eliot is getting the reader to visualize as a person grows older, they
grow shorter (120 121). Along with growing shorter Eliot also describes the
significant balding of an old man With a bald spot in the middle of my hair / (they
will say: How his hair is growing thin! ) (40 41). These two lines alone are showing
that Prufrock is very insecure and self conscious with how he looks. Prufrock even
goes as far as asking himself, Shall I part my hair behind? (122) Eliot is trying to
show the reader that Prufrock wants to look his best for the intelligent ladies by
wearing My morning coat, my collar mounting firmly to the chin,/My necktie rich
and modest, but asserted by a simple pin and combing what hair he does have over
his balding scalp (42 43). He is dressing to impress the women that come and go
/Talking of Michelangelo, the intelligent ladies that he believes will judge him
harshly, not the prostitutes that love his company (35 36). Looking back
Gospel Essentials
Christian World View: Gospel Essentials Our worldview allows us to see into the
world at such an angle that it coincides with our beliefs, therefore affecting how we
think and live. Whether one falls under an atheistic, pantheistic, or theistic worldview,
they are guided in their life choices depending on the beliefs of their worldview.
Throughout this paper, I will summarize the elements of a Christian Worldview such
as God, Humanity, Jesus, and Restoration; I will then analyze questions one might
have about the Christian Worldview, and finally I will reflect on my worldview.

Humankind was created in the image of God; He gave them like characteristics
such as compassion, love, and faithfulness. In Genesis 3 we learn of the Fall of
Humanity, which introduces not only sin into the world but also pain. ( Lecture 3
, 2015) After the Fall human nature is then scarred by sin, humans are born sinful
by nature. In Genesis 4 Cain brings murder into the world; from here we see
humanity relentlessly depart from the wisdom of God. ( Lecture 3 , 2015) Only
by accepting Jesus Christ into their hearts, can they atone for their sins and get
right with the Lord. Humanity was originally created in the likeness of God, to
walk in his presence; they were made distinctly human with the ability to reason.
Humanity knows love because they are made of love, in the image of God who is
love. (1 John 4:16) After the Fall, humans are no longer pure enough to walk in His
presence and are punished for the sins they have committed. The purpose of
humankind changes from caring for the earth and all its inhabitants; to spreading
the word of the Lord. The Christian Worldview recognizes that humankind is sinful
by nature because Adam and Eve, God in his graciousness sent His only son to die on
the cross to atone for those sins. Jesus Jesus Christ is the Son of God, born of the
Virgin Mary. Jesus lived a humble life, spreading the word of the Lord, and died by
crucifixion for the sins of all of humanity. Jesus is referred to as Savior.
Analysis Of The Movie Bird
On August 29th, 1920, Charlie YardBird Parker landed in this world and 34 years
later he flew away. Within those 34 years, music was eternally influenced by Bird,
and this influence continues to be celebrated all around the world. In 1988, Clint
Eastwood and Joel Oliansky worked together to create a documentary titled Bird
based on Charlie Parker s life. There are many story telling techniques used within
this film that aid in making it an extremely brilliant motion picture. Bird is very
accurate in portraying the reality of Charlie Parker s life, and this accuracy is
important because it will help to present and therefore preserve his legacy. A legacy
that will intrigue and inspire musicians forevermore.

Movie critic for the Chicago Sun Times Roger Ebert explains this scene, It shows
him touring the West Coast and hearing some simple truths one night from
Gillespie, who told him that the difference between them was that Diz took care of
business, and Charlie took care of screwing up. Gillespie was not a heavy drinker
or an avid drug user, unlike Charlie. In that way these two musical legends were
complete opposites. Because Bird focuses on this contrasting relationship, we are
given a clearer idea of who Parker was.
Included in the aspects of Bird that make it such a great film is the outstanding acting
performance by Forest Whitaker, who played Charlie Parker, and Diane Venora who
played Chan Richardson. Some critics believe that Bird was a bit too scattered, but
was held together smoothly because of Forest Whitaker s acting. Forest Whitaker s
brilliance is the force that holds the scattered pieces of Bird together. Only rarely in
movies do characters achieve this sort of palpability, and then only when presented to
us by a remarkable performer. And this is a remarkable performer giving a gentle,
exuberant, charismatic performance, proclaims Washington Post Staff Writer Hal
Hinson. With such pressure to portray the center focus of the film, Whitaker truly
delivers an excellent representation of the mysterious musical genius many of us have
gotten to know through recordings. Diane Venora s performance

Near Death Experiences Research Draft I looked up and I saw this light; it wasn t a
normal light, it was different. It was luminescent. And it grew. I kept looking at it
like, What is that? Then it grew large and I went into it (Sunfellow, David). Near death
experiences and the knowledge of near death experiences have become more
common in today s society. Countless books have recently been written on them such
as Heaven is for Real, Near Death Experiences of Suicide Survivors, Proof of
Heaven, and 90 minutes in Heaven, but not everyone believes in these
experiences. Some atheists, scientists and doctors have all tried to debunk the
theory, but are they nonbelievers or disbelievers? A non believer is one who does
not have faith or believe, a dis believer refuses to believe. Many people have stated
that they have had near death experiences and of course with that comes the
naysayers. The point is to look beyond scientific belief and to look at the proof we
have from doctors records or for some, their own experiences. There are still many
skeptics about NDEs but with countless records and so much proof, there draws a
thin line between real and make believe. In order to prove that these experiences are
true to the non believers we need to not only gather records but also scientific proof
of these phenomenons. First, Religion is a strong opponent with near death
experiences. The Bible, Koran and the Tibetan
Sweatshops In Third World Countries
Imagine a small child from a third world country working in a unventilated hot
room, making garment and shoes without any safety equipment, and working 12 to
15 hours shifts just to make about $1.25 a day. This perspective is what average
U.S. citizens have of sweatshops, and most are horrified by the idea of people
working in these conditions for extremely low wages. Contrary to this perception,
people from third worldcountries see sweatshops as an opportunity for employment
and a good source of income. Even though third world citizen see sweatshops as a
good thing, it doesn t change the fact that these workers face disastrous working
condition. While there is much controversy surrounding the implementation of
sweatshops in third world countries, closing these factories is not always the best
solution, as it can lead harmful outcomes. As it stands, reforming the structural
management of sweatshops so that they provide a more humane environment may be
the best solution for all parties involved.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Workers have to deal with unventilated workspaces, are exposed to toxic materials,
work for unreasonable hours, and are paid extremely low wages. Certain articles
cite that sweatshops can have children as young as age six work twelve to sixteen
hours per day; workers of all ages labored in dark cramped workspaces... They
operated dangerous machinery without any safety protection and were vulnerable to
fire accidents and physical abuse at the hands of the bosses. ( Sweatshops 1). On top
of facing these dangerous conditions daily, many workers encounter physical, verbal,

Ethanol And Alternative Sources Of Energy
Abstract Due to energy and environmental concerns, producing fuels from renewable
energy sources has seen advancements, especially through collecting biofuels
produced from microbes. Many of the biofuels produced from microbes are done so
by different pathways in order to generate fatty acid branched chain esters (FABCEs)
and branched fatty acid branched chain esters (BFABCEs), which are promising
isopentenols. These can be produced via multiple pathways, the leucine and valine
pathway as well as the fatty acid pathway. Another and main source pathway
producing biofuels, which produces isopentyl diphosphate (IPP) and dimethylallyl
dipho sphate (DMAPP), are the 2 methyl (D) erythritol 4 phosphate (MEP) and
mevalonate dependent (MVA)... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is proof that it is crucial to begin to create biofuels that have a lesser negative
impact that can sustain the energy demands that we have today. Currently, as seen
in the table, microbes have been proven to produce ethanol, biodiesel and
hydrogen, which are all sources that can be used for producing renewable fuels.
One of the various types of ethanol produced are C5 alcohols also referred to as
isopentenols and other 5 branched carbon alcohols. As Connor and Liao suggest
Higher chain alcohols (C3 C5) contain a high energy density, and are compatible
with the current infrastructure as they are less hygroscopic. These alcohols (iso
propanol, 1 propanol, 1 butanol, isobutanol, 3 methyl 1 butanol, 2 methyl 1 butanol,
isopentenol) can be blended with gasoline and also have potential to be used as
replacements, as 1 butanol has already been shown to perform well in conventional
gasoline engines (Connor; Liao, 2009). There is some controversy about how
current biofuels are not efficient at low temperature; however, FABCEs and
BFABCEs have low freezing points, which can allow for the biofuel to have greater
performance (Tao et. al, 2015). As previously mentioned, isopentenols have
properties, which mirror those of octane and
What Conditions Do You Need To Grow Rice
Has there been any minds in this world that thought of breaking a permanent logic?
If there is, it would simply turn into a ridiculous joke from someone s eyes, but
from a certain person s sight is a delicacy, deeply craving for an answer. Rice
farming has been a traditional part of living since the old days. It has become an
essential part of humanity s survival, progress, and growth. From plains to mountains
to the hills to desolate lands, it has been grown in different places like in Japan.
Many believe that riceis a seasonal plant that can only grow in one season and
growing it in any other season will only diminish its growth and led to failure.
However with the current changes of living, it eventually made people think
farther and in a different way that it became unreasonable. It is possible to grow
rice in any season because it depends on the land condition, other country can grow
it, and having proper material, resources, layout, and planning. The condition of
the land is an important factor for growing rice. According to Brian Barth from
What Conditions Do You Need To Grow Rice , he stated the growing rice should
be kept weed free, has moisturize soil and is well fertilized with a source of
nitrogen . Brian Barth gave away the essential requirements of a good plot of land
where rice can grow without relying to the season. The weeds remove for spaces, the
wet soil that provides nutrients and both the fertilizerand nitrogen for further
nourishment of the rice

This was the main reason behind her migration. It is very strenuous to a woman in
a macho society, and an occupied country to be positive, have faith to be successful
and passes the march of life. Beside that, when she moves to America she was
facing a lot of actions of racism, and also her son. Fady s classmates started to
make fun of him, attack him just because he is a Palestinian migrant. Furthermore,
when she was not accepted in any job similar to her previous job at the bank the
only job which was available for her was at the White Castle junk food restaurant,
maybe this is not a scene of full racism, but at least the banks were refusing her
because she is not well qualified and did not have an American education
certificates. These negative actions let the audience feel pity as the migrants are
passing through hard times. Additionally, they were very despaired and felt sorry
for them. For the emotional appeals it is not all about sad feelings, there is also
positive side and feelings for the audience; on the other side of pity and heart rending

The Famine In Somalia
History always repeats itself now it s Somalia s turn.
The United States should be involved in the famine in Somalia by not only sending,
food, water and money, but also ways to clean and purify their own water.
Famine is something that is not very common. It is a widespread and extreme
scarcity of food. According to the United Nations, more than two people per
10,000 die each day, acute malnutrition rates are above 30 percent, all livestock is
dead and there is less than 2,100 kilocalories of food and 4 liters of water available
per person per day (LeGagnoux,Borgen Project ), confirming that Somalia is in fact
suffering through a famine.

Rare. It s pretty simple, before the United States sends the money to Somalia, they
should use to buy food and water purifiers. Non perishable foods are very easy to
send, if an ordinary person can do the United States government should be able to
too. Social Media star, Jerome Jarre with the help of all his fans was able to send a
whole plane filled with food to Somalia. People are dying in Somalia right now
that need our help. There s an impending famine because of drought, politics,
inaction in NGOs and lack of media attention (Karangu, USA Today). Water
Purifiers are very easy to make and cheap to buy. In fact, designing your own water

Summary Of Man In The Water By Roger Rosenblatt
People have two basic assumptions when it comes to human nature. We assume
collectively that human nature is inherently good, or that human nature is inherently
evil. The way these assumptions are made is through the experiences and
perspectives that people have on certain situations. People can choose to believe in
the good or believe in the bad, which makes humans unique from the rest of the life
on Earth. No one will be able to look at a person and automatically understand their
backgrounds which allows people to surprise others with their actions. Despite the
science behind it, people can ultimately choose to be however they want. Good or
evil, nothing is forced upon another person. Roger Rosenblatt explores the idea of
humannature as inherently good in, The Man in the Water.
One way that Rosenblatt shows the good in people is through the actions of
Donald Usher and Eugene Windsor. Both men were part of the helicopter police
force who were part of picking passengers up out of the frigid water. During their
service they witnessed other people who did the same thing but it wasn t their job.
Those people didn t have the best equipment, and then the two men felt a sense of ...

always chose to hand it off to another. Rosenblatt called this a great power, to be
able to give another person a chance at life. Consequently, at some point this man
had to know that his chances at survival were dwindling down until he probably
knew there was no chance for him at all. Eventually when the helicopter came back
for him, he was gone, lost to the cold depths of the

Walt Disney once said, All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to
pursue them. What are aspirations? Aspirations are ambitious desires. For example,
when I mature into a woman, I aspire to be a corporate lawyer. A corporate lawyer
practices law confined to the legal affairs of a corporation. Corporate lawyers advise
individuals on how to operate business concerns while remaining inside the margins
of legality. They also defend clients who find themselves the subject of lawsuits or
criminal charges from their business activities. A corporate lawyermight be in

According to Ben Franklin, God works wonders now and then; behold a lawyer, an
honest man.
Becoming a lawyer will be beneficial to others in countless ways. Lawyers maintain
stability of political and social authority. A service is performed to society by
defending law and order. In a sense, life without lawyers could not exist. Laws are
unavoidable. On the other hand, lawyers do not create lawsuits, clients do. For
instance, Charles Dickens once said, If there were no bad people, there would be
no good lawyers. Everyday lawyers are bashed and their names are thrown in the
dirt. However, lawyers convict criminals and set free innocent individuals. Also,
lawyers aid with getting fair results in a trial even if you do not win. Being a
lawyer is a monotonous job. Moreover, lawyers are valuable when it comes to
purchasing a home, finalizing wills, divorce, and etc. Because lawyers are present,
settling cases within the court of law is the best way of avoiding quarreling among
citizens. Furthermore, even though you are not guaranteed to win every case,
lawyers are agents of peace and order in the society.

the word heaven, and found that different characters used it differently. Characters
like Macbeth who were more malicious and had less morals used heaven when they

more to symbolize peace and a safe place. I realized differently people used the word
differently because they interpret it differently. Macbeththought of it as relating to
death and just the general place one might go after they die, but Macduff thought of
it relating to safety. I chose this real world issue because I find it really interesting

No matter where someone grows up there is some form of religion in their life.
Religion even has an affect on atheists since because of religion they decided they
did not believe in any form of God; they could not have come to this conclusion
without religion. When an average person thinks about an average religious child
they would think they are a well behaved moral child, but according to a new study
published in the journal Current Biology, children that come from non religious
households behave significantly more altruistically than those from religious
households, as measured by greater acts of generosity towards others. (cite) This may
be due to the fact that a religious parent would believe that their child will learn
morals from religious teachings, but it is not guaranteed that they will learn, whereas
a nonreligious parent would have to teach morals to their child. When talking about
religion in children, it not only brings about the obvious argument of religion but also
about parenting and what is the right kind of

The Theological Doctrine Of The Holy Trinity
The Holy Trinity is, according to the Cambridge Dictionary of Philosophy, the
theological doctrine that God consists of three persons (Audi, 928). Those persons
are the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Each within the religion of Christianity
are considered omnipotent and omniscient (IEP, URL). This theory validates the
actions of the religion s savior JesusChrist, who as the Son of God(and part of the
Holy Trinity) died a painful death of suffering for the sins of humans. This offers
reasoning for the worship of different God s within the monotheistic religion. The
concept of the Holy Trinity creates a paradoxical puzzle that many philosophers and
theologians are still trying to explain to this day. However, during medieval times
philosophers may have gone through greater lengths to explain the trinitarian view
than any other era in philosophical history. The Catholic Church s council carries
forth hearings relative to those of the United States judicial system, and has
maintained this method since medieval times. However, during those times it was
much easier to get charged for heresy, which caused a shared viewpoint in most of the
writings of the time, based largely on the groundwork put forth initially by Saint
Augustine of Hippo. This viewpoint, like many others that are somewhat
misunderstood, morphed into what is written by those philosophers playing it safe ,
but still carry the essence of Augustine s primary influence, Plotinus.

1 minimizes holding cost Storing inventory is an expensive process for any
business . The main advantage of this model is that it helps in decreasing the
storage or holding cost of goods by getting at the optimum inventory level . If the
holding costs are high in a firm then that firm may point to more orders of few items

2 minimizes ordering cost the aim of any firm is to minimize costs and the

by placing less orders in a year but of more items .

The Voting Age In Voting
At first one may think that 16 and 17 year olds are just focused on dating, having
fun, and playing sports. Most would assume that they certainly aren t mature enough
or know enough about politics to vote. However, it is just the opposite, 16 and 17
year olds are in fact very qualified to vote and they care about politics. The votingage
should be lowered to allow 16 and 17 year olds to vote. 16 and 17 year olds are just
as capable as adults in voting, letting them vote would positively affect the voting
field in numerous ways, and they are faced many responsibilities similar to adults .
16 and 17 year olds are just as qualified to vote as adults are. According to the
federal Voting Rights Act of 1965, a 6th grade education is all that is required for an
adult to vote (National Youth Rights). The majority of 16 and 17 year olds have
completed more than a 6th grade level of education, so they certainly fit the

Sibling Life Interview
Leaving home and coming to college is a different experience for every individual.
For some, it can be very difficult and others seamless. The transition of course has
many different factors; where one goes to school, how far from home it is, if that
person considers themselves a homebody or not, the list goes on. For my methods
interview assignment I chose to examine a particular situation that not many
incoming students find themselves in, coming to schoolwith a sibling. For my
interview I talked with first year Greta Long about her experience joining her senior
year brother at Pitzer College. While the phenomena of a fresh start, new beginning
college experience looms over most people s heads, I wanted to find out more about
how sibling... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although the scale of this investigation is rather small I found for practicing
anthropology to be different than I had originally anticipated. After the process I have
concluded that conducting properly as an ethnographer in the moment is rather
challenging. Although none of my original questions were leading I skewed them
during the conversation and therefore allowed room for my influence to persuade the
interviewee. Secondly, I have learned that at certain points during an interview,
formal or informal, it is necessary to give up the agenda and follow the natural flow
of the conversation. Letting the interviewee fully articulate their thoughts without
interruption is the best way to stimulate meaningful responses. From this experience I
learned that it is important to remain conscious of the original agenda while
anticipating change in order to adapt preemptively. In some cases, particularly for
larger research agendas, investigating the topic before the interview process could
benefit the findings. Although my specific topic is more personal to individuals than
other ethnographies, prior research could include statistics of siblings at college
institutions and various other numbers supporting or negating whether or not it is a
positive thing for family members to go to college together. If I were to continue
research on this topic I would take it upon myself to
Violence In Pan s Labyrinth
El Laberinto Del Pan
El Laberinto Del Pan, or Pan s Labyrinth, is based on the turbulence that occurred
after the Civil War. It is set in post Civil War Spain, in 1944, after the victory of the
fascist Nationalists led by General Franco. Though the war had ended, many
republican rebels were still striking back against the new oppressive government.
Other citizens were exiled, or attempted to flee the country. A large portion of those
that did rebel hid in more remote areas of Spain, such as the region of Navarra in
Northern Spain, where Pan s Labyrinth takes place.
During the Spanish civil war, both Nationalists and Republicans killed, tortured, and
attacked citizens. Anyone either side disagreed with was likely to be harmed (school

My feelings about Pan s Labyrinth are rather split, as I appreciate the storyline but
disliked the actual movie. When I first watched the film, I was shocked and
horrified (I honestly thought it was horrible). At the time, I was too hung up on
the creepiness and violence of the movie to value anything about it. After a few
days of thinking about it, however, I was able to appreciate the subtlety behind the
story, as well as the uniqueness of the plot. Pan s Labyrinth is similar to a twisted
fairy tale, and has an interesting storyline, incredible effects, and good
characterization. For those reasons, I feel as if I should recommend this movie to
others. Pan s Labyrinth is essentially a classic, and is probably the kind of movie
everyone should see once. Despite this, I cannot imagine possibly watching the
movie a second time. It is for this reason that I wouldn t recommend the movie to
others, as I did not enjoy it as I watched it. As I viewed the film, I was shocked and
horrified by the violence, annoyed with Ophelia s character, and slightly confused
about the storyline. It was only afterwards, during reflection upon it, that I could
appreciate its good qualities. On one hand, I am interested by Pan s Labyrinth, on
the other hand, I hated it. Therefore, I do not actually know if I would recommend
this film to someone else or not. I think it would depend on the person and their own

many other families is unable to do, break bread together at an evening meal. It used
to be that families sat down to eat dinnertogether most nights, but the bustling nature

Fast food sabotages family dinners. The multitude, convenience, and affordability of
fast food restaurants encourages many families to eat on the run in the car, rather
than having unhurried time together at the dinner table. Even mothers or fathers
with the best intentions of cooking at home and eating with their children can find
it hard to resist a drive through window that makes dinner quick and easy.
According to an article in Restaurant Quarterly, residents in medium sized cities
drives past an average of seven fast food establishments on their way home from
work. For a tired parent, passing a bag or box over the back seat to hungry,
impatient children is a seductive option when compared to the cooking and
dishwashing waiting at home. The gulping of burgers and sodas quickly consumed
in cars have begun to replace the simple, slow joy of eating, talking, and relating to
each other over a shared
My Mask Research Paper
My mask features materials such as white tissue paper, pearl balls, silver glitter,
sparkly paper, silver flowers and silver pen. These materials were used on my mask to
give it a bright and pure white look. Masks were worn at masquerade balls for the
purpose of hiding ones true identity, wearing a masklike this would give the illusion
that the wearer was perfect, or angelic. Except, for around the eyes where I also
used a black marker and red glitter glue for the pattern on there. Generally the only
recognisable feature on someones face while wearing a mask, are the eyes. Which
happens to be the darkest part of the mask. Therefor, the mask is saying that beneath
this pure and plain mask, is a flawed person, a real person.

The Disappearance Do Not Write Here Have you ever heard of the Mafia? Do you
know what they do? Did they do something to Hoffa?
Do Not Write Here
Jimmy Hoffa s disappearance is still yet to be discovered as you are about to learn
background. Hoffa was born to a poor coal miner in 1913. Born in 1913 to a poor
coal miner in Brazil, Indiana, Jimmy Hoffa proved a natural leader in his youth.
(History.com) This quote is helpful because it states what Hoffa grew up with.
Hoffa had started a labor strike at the age of 20 years. At the age of 20, he helped
organize a labor strike in Detroit, and remained an advocate for downtrodden

Hoffa had been on the phone with his wife the night he disappeared. On this day 40
years ago, former TeamstersPresident Jimmy Hoffa called his wife, Josephine, from a
pay phone in Bloomfield Township to say he had been stood up at an afternoon
meeting with two mobsters. (usatoday.com) This quote digs right into the passage.
One theory states that the Mafia killed Hoffa. The main one presented to a grand
jury was that the Mafia killed to prevent him from disclosing mob infiltration of the
Teamsters, including its tapping into the union s pension fund to finance its
rackets. (usatoday.com) This quote proves that Hoffa was important because
people were involved with the grand jury! Investigators believe that no one will be
blamed for Hoffa s death. The list of people who have reliable information is really
short. You could probably count them on one hand with a couple fingers left over. I
think it s extremely unlikely that there will be any new developments in the case.
(usatoday.com) This quote leaves you on a cliff hanger. In conclusion, it is not
proved that the Mafia killed Hoffa. Investigators are still searching. Have you
learned more than what was known at the beginning of this passage? Since reading
this passage, you know that more has been stated and learned. In conclusion, Hoffa
has not yet been found for 40 years. People still search for him to this day.

Different Cultures Around The World
There are many cultures around the world, each with a unique set of
characteristics. For example, I identify myself as a Korean American. Education
and family is valued over the individual. We hold the superstition that shaking one s
leg means shaking away one s luck. As a Korean American, we believe that our
elders should be respected. For example, when we see an elder, we bow and say
hello. Birthday celebrations for immediate family members and relatives include
eating seaweed soup to promote health. Growing up in a Korean American
household, my family did not talk and discuss mental health. However, my family
showed a lot of verbal and non verbal affection with one another. This is one kind of
culture. Culture is denoted as a system of values, beliefs, ways of thinking, routines,
rituals, and institutions established by a group or population ... provides ways of
looking at the world ... determines patterns of feelings and behavior in everyday life
(Brooks, 2013, p. 34). Two cultural models are used in order to categorize cultures
into one group or the other.
Two Cultural Models Individualistic. This is also known as the independent model
of social systems. Many cultures in Europe, North America, Australia, and New
Zealand (Brooks, 2013, p. 35) use this cultural model. Cultures that follow the
individualistic model define self in terms of personal choices, goals, and
achievements. This system is a self or ego centric system (Brooks, 2013, p. 35). The

Analysis Of I Dreamed The Last Diamond Darter
I Dreamed The Last Diamond Darter is a very curious and peculiar play. Before
seeing the play, I had no idea what it would be about. It s very interesting to go into
a play, not knowing what s going to happen in the story and what the characters are
like. Before I saw the show, I had an open mind and was looking forward to seeing a
new show. Sadly, after seeing the show I was extremely disappointed in the playand
was confused about the entire show. There are many reasons that can contribute to
my last statement. First, the costumes and set design of the show. There were a total
of four characters in this show and each characterhad their own uniqueness. The
three girls in the play all had different costumes. These costumes were fine, but the
problem was that I had no idea which character was which. It was so confusing and
frustrating now knowing why that specific character was wearing those types of
clothes. Throughout the play, I was able to get a read on why the characters were
wearing what they were. It helped explained what type of character they were
trying to portray in the story. The three women in the story wore jeans, leggings,
boots, jackets, and long dresses. Now the gentleman that was in the play I believe
played more than one character role in the show. From what I can remember he was
a night watchman and a girl s boyfriend throughout the story. They did a better job of
explaining his character and his costumes were pretty self explanatory. He wore a long
The Holy City Of Jerusalem
Through the deliverance of a speech the former Pope Urban II incited Catholics all

Muslims in the Middle East. It was in this year,1095, that the beginning of the first,
of nine, Crusades and thus the first series of religious wars between the Catholics
and Muslims begun. The focus of this paper will remain on the Third Crusade (1189
1192 A.D) more specifically the actions of Islam s Warrior Hero Ṣalāḥ ad
DД«n YЕ«suf ibn AyyЕ«b who was better known to the English as Saladin Sultan
of Egypt. How did one individual gain the respect of both his Muslim followers and
his enemies the Catholic Europeans? Throughout history Saladin has been portrayed
as a charismatic, honourable, virtuous and chivalrous man by the historians and
chroniclers of the Middle East and Europe. Even the Europeans who sought to
dislike this man due to his religious affiliations could not, as he encompassed all the
qualities in which a great leader and a good Christian was thought to possess. The
sources produced during the medieval period were formulated by individuals with an
education, these grouped individuals were limited to monks, priests and people of
aristocracy. Due to this limitation it is obvious that the sources obtained will be
biased and could obtain numerous inaccuracies. Because the sources on Saladin are
written from both the perspectives of Catholics and Muslims it must be taken into
consideration of the
Stakeholder Analysis Matrix For Anheuser-Busch ( AB )
Anheuser Busch
While creating the Stakeholder Analysis Matrix for Anheuser Busch (AB), I found
that the major external and internal stakeholders fell into either the Keep Satisfied
or the Manage Closely categories, and only a few were in the Keep Informed and
Monitor categories. I felt this way because when you are dealing with a product such
as alcohol, the company has many risks involved which require close continuous
analysis of certain stakeholders.
Manage Closely
I believe that currently AB is keeping a close eye on competitors, especially those
throughout the craft beer industry. Over the past few years, AB has not only been
monitoring the expansion and popularity of smaller breweries, but also has been
acquiring craft breweries in order to compete with the growing craft beer industry.
With the rapid growth of craft breweries, I believe AB has been focusing more
effort on targeting those people that seek out craft beer or who are interested in
trying more craft beers, which is why they have purchased smaller craft breweries
such as Wicked Weed, 10 Barrel, Elysian, Blue Point, and Goose Island (Herz, 2017).
Managing their competitors closely can help keep them one step ahead in markets
and also in acquisitions within the industry.
Another stakeholder that I listed under Manage Closely is the suppliers, but more
specifically the suppliers of hops. Beer is essentially made with barley, water and
hops, and without hops, AB would not be able to produce their beverages.

The Cambodian Genocide In Cambodia
Who is to decide whether or not a life should be taken? Should the decision lie in
the hands of your God , in the hands of the rich and powerful, or in the hands of a
random stranger? Well, a man by the name of Pol Pot decided to take it upon
himself to bring about the end of the lives of 2.3 million people. This mass killing
was/is known as the Cambodian Genocide, which began in the year 1975, and
continued for four years before ending in 1979. The Genocide was carried out by Pol

The prior five years before the killings began Cambodia was in a civil war which
promptly ended in 1975, the people of Cambodia were overjoyed with the new
beginning that would come with the end of war. But this joy

employees with bonuses for a job well done is one of the more popular ways of
streamlining the payroll budget. As an employer you tie several stipulations to the
employees job duties for them to obtain in order to receive the bonus. Bonus
structures are no longer as popular as they were during the boom years, however,
some employers still employ the idea and the performance of their employees
proves that it still works. Although bonus plans have begun to disappear, the
increased performance of individual employees through the rewarding of set goals
has allowed bonus structures to withstand the test of time in the workplace. A
structured bonus plan is a great way of rewarding those employees that are
producers without killing a company s budget. Implementing a sound bonus plan is
a great way to encourage performance as long as the employee s goals are
attainable. Be careful however because a simple bonus plan to motivate employee s
performance can also be demotivating due to employee s inability to attain the set
goal. Implementing a ratio significantly outside of what is normal for the industry
Essay on Gender and Music Preference
Gender and Music Preference There are so many different forms and genres of
music that people admire. Even older genres that have seemed to die out still have
fans such as disco or polka. Many researchers discuss why people favor the music
that they do. This has been a popular topic in music research considering how
important music has become in everyday life. Music is played in the car, on the
internet, on cellphones, and even behind commercials on television. It is hard to
imagine a world without it. Now there are many reasons discussed about why
people prefer one kind of music over another, such as one s age. One s age could
determine what music was popular when they were a kid, or what genres they have
been around to experience.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Music genres can be split into categories for what genders are dominating the
majority of their listeners. Heavier music such as rap and rock seem to appeal more
to a young male because of the reoccurring themes of aggression and independence.
Whereas lighter music normally involves themes of emotion and love which a girl
can better relate too. As mentioned above, I believe age, ethnicity, culture, and
genetics all play a role in musical preference, but gender should not be left out. While
some believe that music preference all belongs to the individual and not about fitting
into the generic stereotypes. I disagree and believe that gender does take part in the
music selection one makes.
Literature Review Kelly D. Schwartz and Gregory T. Fouts created a study set out
to examine the personality characteristics and developmental issues of three
different groups of adolescent music listeners. The first group analyzed was
adolescent listeners who preferred light qualities of music. The second group was
those who preferred heavy kinds of music, and the last were for those who preferred
a wide range of music. One hundred and sixty four adolescents participated in the
study. The results of this research showed that each of the three music preference
groups was tended to demonstrate a unique profile of personality and developmental
issues (2001), Susan A. O Neill has researched numerous issues related to

Individual Research Report For decades, the United States has been split by a
dichotomy over civilian gun control. Gun control is the term used to describe how
firearms may be legally produced, sold, and used, (Gale). As stated in the Second
Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, A well regulated militia, being necessary to the
security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be
infringed, (Gottesman/Brown). However, research seems to indicate that owning a
gun or even just seeing one [can] change how people behave, (Striepe). Studies have
shown that weapons negatively affect the individual s psychological processes.
Actions of aggression or agitation have been shown to increase during experimental
situations in which guns are in view of the subject. The purpose of this project was
to determine the extent of how ownership of guns and other weapons could create
conflict, and to propose a solution to minimize these consequences. By studying how
weapons can affect humans intrinsically and psychologically by slowly changing
behaviors and beliefs over time, insight can be gained on the true dangers of gun
ownership. This scientific approach also provided a look at the deeper consequences
of civilian weapon control, allowing for further refinement in the creation of a
solution to reverse the effects of gun control in the future. In 1967, Leonard

Difference Between Murder And Second Degree Murder
First degree murder is defined as the killing of someone which is deliberate and
premeditated. Premeditated means to plan the killing such as waiting for the person
to return home to kill them or to poison them.
The difference between first degree murder and second degree murder is very
simple. First degree murder is a planned killing. For instants, Victoria comes home
and finds her husband in bed with Shelly. A few days later, Victoria breaks into
Shelly house and stabs her to death for sleeping with her husband. Victoria started to
plan Shelly s murder once she walked on her husband cheating on her with Shelly.
Second degree murder, however, is different. An intentional killing that is not
premeditated, nor committed with heat of passion

The Type Of Blood Cancer
Multiple myeloma (MM) is the second most common type of blood cancer.1 It is
found in plasma cells inside the intermedullary canal of the diaphysis of a long bone.2
Plasma cells are a type of white blood cell. They function to help the body fight
infections by making antibodies that recognize and attack germs. MM starts when a
plasma cell becomes abnormal in the bone marrow and begins to multiple quickly.
These abnormal, now cancerous cells accumulate and eventually outnumber the
production of healthy cells. Like normal plasma cells, myeloma cells also produce
antibodies. However, the body cannot use them. These antibodies are known as
monoclonal proteins, or M proteins.3 M proteins can build up in the body and cause

symptoms of MM can vary and early in the disease there may be none. When signs

chest, thinning or broken bones, nausea, constipation, loss of appetite, mental
fogginess or confusion, fatigue, frequent infections, weight loss, weakness or

multiple types of tests. Lab analysis of blood may reveal the M proteins produced
by myeloma cells. Another abnormal protein produced from myeloma cells called
beta 2 microglobulin may be detected in the blood.3 A urine protein level test may
show M proteins, which are known as Bence Jones proteins, and confirm the
presence of MM.2 A bone marrow biopsy may be done to determine the number of
normal and cancerous plasma cells present. An initial skeletal survey is done for
diagnosis and staging through diagnostic radiography. Images will include a lateral
skull x ray, AP and lateral views of the spine and AP views of the humeri, ribs, pelvis,

Response To Unrequited Love In The Flea
1.The conceit in The Flea is between a flea and unrequited love in the physical
aspect. The complexities of this young romance develop the speaker s argument

god to forgive him for that. He believes it is almost impossible not to sin for
everyone. Thus, he asks since god has so many people to forgive, will he have time
to forgive him. The speaker want to get into heaven thus he begs god to forgive him

reaches out to god for forgiveness, his son will save him and he will fear no
Moral Features Among The Parents
Parents are our first teachers; they are involved in our personality build, primary
education, and taking care of our lives. Indeed, it is a challenging job. These days;
parents are flooded with mixed messages about how to parent the right way .
Restrictions and limitations on parenting starts to form and shape, people started to
question: Do we really have complete freedom over our own child? The course
readings When a Parents I LoveYou Means Do as I Say and Can You Name Your
Baby Messiah? constraint the ideas on what and how parents should and should not
be doing. The reading leads us on to the main problem of parenting, how the
significant effects rom parents are suspected to be manipulating and potentially
abusive to children s future. Therefore parents should have rights and obligations, not
absolute freedom, over their children. Moral features among the parents are a
significant concept that proves restriction on parenting is necessary. Moral is one of
the most abstract humanbehaviors that concerns parents abilities to have autonomy
and responsibility when they take care of their offspring. Parents are expected to
have a capacious and high ethical responsibility in order to support their offspring
emotionally and financially, at all time in any cases. It is their duties and obligations
to show interests, to spend time, to give encouragements, and to teach
disciplines...etc. There is a wide range of the ways parents can illustrate affections on
Union General William Tecumseh Sherman s Carolina
Campaign...
Union General William Tecumseh Sherman s Carolina campaign during the
American Civil War led to the capital of South Carolina in the city of Columbia in
early 1865. Sherman was employing a new military strategy of total war, in which he
considered the civilian population and their property as military targets. Upon hearing
of Sherman s march toward Columbia, the Confederate cavalry General Wade
Hampton faced the reality that Columbia would be lost to Sherman.
The question for Hampton was how to prepare for the invasion of Columbia with a
focus on the disposition of supplies ranging from cotton, food, and alcohol, to
military related supplies such as ammunition, rifles, and cannons. It was both obvious
and imperative to the Confederacy that the Union could not take possession of these
supplies, since this would simultaneously help the Union and seriously hurt the
Confederacy. Additionally, the presence of the cotton would make the potential of
fire a real danger for the citizenry and the buildings in which they lived, worked,
gathered, and prayed.
Confederate General Wade Hampton unsuccessfully employed the tenants of the
current U.S. Army mission command philosophy during the Union General Sherman
s campaign through South Carolina. Hampton s failure to follow the yet to be written
philosophy of mission command both before and during Sherman s occupation of
Columbia directly destroyed what little chance of winning the war the South may
have clung to. Conversely, General

Research Paper Vs Essay.pdf

  • 1. Research Paper Vs Essay Crafting an essay on the subject of "Research Paper vs Essay" can prove to be a challenging endeavor. The difficulty lies in navigating the nuanced distinctions between these two forms of academic writing. While both share commonalities, such as the need for clear structure, coherent arguments, and well-supported evidence, they diverge in their purposes, methodologies, and expectations. Firstly, defining the scope of each is essential. Research papers typically require a deep exploration of a specific topic, demanding a thorough literature review, comprehensive data analysis, and the incorporation of relevant scholarly sources. On the other hand, essays may have a broader focus, often encouraging personal reflection, creativity, and a more informal tone. Distinguishing between the two becomes complex when considering the potential overlap. Some essays may involve substantial research, blurring the lines between a standard essay and a research paper. Striking the right balance between depth of analysis and the essay's inherent flexibility can be a delicate task. Moreover, the challenge lies in understanding the expectations of your audience or instructor. A research paper might demand a meticulous adherence to a particular citation style, while an essay may provide more leeway for individual expression. Negotiating these expectations while maintaining a cohesive and engaging narrative adds another layer of difficulty. In conclusion, tackling the task of comparing and contrasting research papers and essays involves navigating a maze of academic conventions, stylistic considerations, and the inherent complexity of each form. Achieving a nuanced understanding and presenting it eloquently is no small feat. However, it's crucial to remember that with diligence and a solid grasp of the nuances, one can navigate these challenges successfully. For further assistance with similar essays or any academic writing tasks, a resource like HelpWriting.net can provide valuable support and guidance in crafting well-researched and eloquent pieces. • 2. Home Work Unit 6 Assignment MT140 Introduction to Management Matthew Guccione Prof. Suzanne Ness In the case of Dalman and Lei discrepancy of the time sheet this can be resolved by using none other than a control system called bureaucratic control system. First to implement this system they must first understand what this system means. It is designed to measure progress toward a set goal and to apply corrective measures to ensure this goal is met. In other words control system is to detect and fix certain variables and discrepancies turning into results of the ultimate goal. This process is broken down into four parts. Setting a performance standards, Measuring performance, comparing performance again the standards ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Now comes Step 3 which is comparing performance with the standard. This step Dalman and Lei have their weekly results from their new system they implemented and compare it with the goals they set. They can see the good and bad results that came out of the system. Also participants can identify successful actions to recommend in the future and avoid the mistakes next time around. For example, let s say a employee had another employee clock in for each other and they didn t go to the desk in work. The only way they can prove that it was indeed another employee clocking in would be a camera of some sort. The best place that a camera would be where the employees clock in. This is one of many examples that Dalman and Lei can compare the performance with the standard they put in stone. This comes to the last step of the system and that is taking action to correct the problems and reinforce the successful ones. The selection of the corrective action depends on the nature of the problem. If the problem was the system not recording the clocking in of the employees, than the corrective action would be to call in a specialist control and help figure out the problem with the system. Dalman and Lei need to keep the successful standard and throw the non successful ones to the corrective action. To ensure that the discrepancy doesn t appear or accrue
  • 3. Alfred J Prufrock The Love Song of Alfred J. Prufrock by T. S. Eliot is an excellent short poem about a man reflecting back on his life and realizing that he is alone and might possibly die alone. Eliot uses a variety of symbols, metaphors, and great diction to convey that Prufrock is unsatisfied with his life, especially his love life. Eliot depicts Prufrock as an older man reflecting back on his life, metaphorically, going through a midlife crisis. I grow old... I grow old.../I shall wear the bottoms of my trousers rolled, by this Eliot is getting the reader to visualize as a person grows older, they grow shorter (120 121). Along with growing shorter Eliot also describes the significant balding of an old man With a bald spot in the middle of my hair / (they will say: How his hair is growing thin! ) (40 41). These two lines alone are showing that Prufrock is very insecure and self conscious with how he looks. Prufrock even goes as far as asking himself, Shall I part my hair behind? (122) Eliot is trying to show the reader that Prufrock wants to look his best for the intelligent ladies by wearing My morning coat, my collar mounting firmly to the chin,/My necktie rich and modest, but asserted by a simple pin and combing what hair he does have over his balding scalp (42 43). He is dressing to impress the women that come and go /Talking of Michelangelo, the intelligent ladies that he believes will judge him harshly, not the prostitutes that love his company (35 36). ( Lecture 3 , 2015) After the Fall human nature is then scarred by sin, humans are born sinful by nature. In Genesis 4 Cain brings murder into the world; from here we see humanity relentlessly depart from the wisdom of God. ( Lecture 3 , 2015) Only by accepting Jesus Christ into their hearts, can they atone for their sins and get right with the Lord. Humanity was originally created in the likeness of God, to walk in his presence; they were made distinctly human with the ability to reason. Humanity knows love because they are made of love, in the image of God who is love. (1 John 4:16) After the Fall, humans are no longer pure enough to walk in His presence and are punished for the sins they have committed. The purpose of humankind changes from caring for the earth and all its inhabitants; to spreading the word of the Lord. The Christian Worldview recognizes that humankind is sinful by nature because Adam and Eve, God in his graciousness sent His only son to die on the cross to atone for those sins. Jesus Jesus Christ is the Son of God, born of the Virgin Mary. Jesus lived a humble life, spreading the word of the Lord, and died by crucifixion for the sins of all of humanity. Jesus is referred to as Savior.

Within those 34 years, music was eternally influenced by Bird, and this influence continues to be celebrated all around the world. In 1988, Clint Eastwood and Joel Oliansky worked together to create a documentary titled Bird based on Charlie Parker s life. There are many story telling techniques used within this film that aid in making it an extremely brilliant motion picture. Bird is very accurate in portraying the reality of Charlie Parker s life, and this accuracy is important because it will help to present and therefore preserve his legacy. Movie critic for the Chicago Sun Times Roger Ebert explains this scene, It shows him touring the West Coast and hearing some simple truths one night from Gillespie, who told him that the difference between them was that Diz took care of business, and Charlie took care of screwing up. Gillespie was not a heavy drinker or an avid drug user, unlike Charlie. In that way these two musical legends were complete opposites. Because Bird focuses on this contrasting relationship, we are given a clearer idea of who Parker was. Included in the aspects of Bird that make it such a great film is the outstanding acting performance by Forest Whitaker, who played Charlie Parker, and Diane Venora who played Chan Richardson. Some critics believe that Bird was a bit too scattered, but was held together smoothly because of Forest Whitaker s acting. Forest Whitaker s brilliance is the force that holds the scattered pieces of Bird together. Only rarely in movies do characters achieve this sort of palpability, and then only when presented to us by a remarkable performer. And this is a remarkable performer giving a gentle, exuberant, charismatic performance, proclaims Washington Post Staff Writer Hal Hinson. With such pressure to portray the center focus of the film, Whitaker truly delivers an excellent representation of the mysterious musical genius many of us have gotten to know through recordings. Near Death Experiences Research Draft Sienna Carugan October 30, 2014 CPC Research Peer Edit Near Death Experiences Research Draft I looked up and I saw this light; it wasn t a normal light, it was different. It was luminescent. And it grew. I kept looking at it like, What is that? Then it grew large and I went into it (Sunfellow, David). Near death experiences and the knowledge of near death experiences have become more common in today s society. Countless books have recently been written on them such as Heaven is for Real, Near Death Experiences of Suicide Survivors, Proof of Heaven, and 90 minutes in Heaven, but not everyone believes in these experiences. Some atheists, scientists and doctors have all tried to debunk the theory, but are they nonbelievers or disbelievers? A non believer is one who does not have faith or believe, a dis believer refuses to believe. Many people have stated that they have had near death experiences and of course with that comes the naysayers. The point is to look beyond scientific belief and to look at the proof we have from doctors records or for some, their own experiences. There are still many skeptics about NDEs but with countless records and so much proof, there draws a thin line between real and make believe. In order to prove that these experiences are true to the non believers we need to not only gather records but also scientific proof of these phenomenons. First, Religion is a strong opponent with near death experiences. The Bible, Koran and the Tibetan

  • 9. Ethanol And Alternative Sources Of Energy Abstract Due to energy and environmental concerns, producing fuels from renewable energy sources has seen advancements, especially through collecting biofuels produced from microbes. Many of the biofuels produced from microbes are done so by different pathways in order to generate fatty acid branched chain esters (FABCEs) and branched fatty acid branched chain esters (BFABCEs), which are promising isopentenols. These can be produced via multiple pathways, the leucine and valine pathway as well as the fatty acid pathway. Another and main source pathway producing biofuels, which produces isopentyl diphosphate (IPP) and dimethylallyl dipho sphate (DMAPP), are the 2 methyl (D) erythritol 4 phosphate (MEP) and mevalonate dependent (MVA)... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is proof that it is crucial to begin to create biofuels that have a lesser negative impact that can sustain the energy demands that we have today. Currently, as seen in the table, microbes have been proven to produce ethanol, biodiesel and hydrogen, which are all sources that can be used for producing renewable fuels. One of the various types of ethanol produced are C5 alcohols also referred to as isopentenols and other 5 branched carbon alcohols. As Connor and Liao suggest Higher chain alcohols (C3 C5) contain a high energy density, and are compatible with the current infrastructure as they are less hygroscopic. These alcohols (iso propanol, 1 propanol, 1 butanol, isobutanol, 3 methyl 1 butanol, 2 methyl 1 butanol, isopentenol) can be blended with gasoline and also have potential to be used as replacements, as 1 butanol has already been shown to perform well in conventional gasoline engines (Connor; Liao, 2009). There is some controversy about how current biofuels are not efficient at low temperature; however, FABCEs and BFABCEs have low freezing points, which can allow for the biofuel to have greater performance (Tao et. al, 2015). As previously mentioned, isopentenols have properties, which mirror those of octane and

Rice farming has been a traditional part of living since the old days. It has become an essential part of humanity s survival, progress, and growth. From plains to mountains to the hills to desolate lands, it has been grown in different places like in Japan. Many believe that riceis a seasonal plant that can only grow in one season and growing it in any other season will only diminish its growth and led to failure. However with the current changes of living, it eventually made people think farther and in a different way that it became unreasonable. It is possible to grow rice in any season because it depends on the land condition, other country can grow it, and having proper material, resources, layout, and planning. The condition of the land is an important factor for growing rice. According to Brian Barth from What Conditions Do You Need To Grow Rice , he stated the growing rice should be kept weed free, has moisturize soil and is well fertilized with a source of nitrogen . We assume collectively that human nature is inherently good, or that human nature is inherently evil. The way these assumptions are made is through the experiences and perspectives that people have on certain situations. People can choose to believe in the good or believe in the bad, which makes humans unique from the rest of the life on Earth. No one will be able to look at a person and automatically understand their backgrounds which allows people to surprise others with their actions. Despite the science behind it, people can ultimately choose to be however they want. Good or evil, nothing is forced upon another person. Roger Rosenblatt explores the idea of humannature as inherently good in, The Man in the Water. One way that Rosenblatt shows the good in people is through the actions of Donald Usher and Eugene Windsor. • 17. The Theological Doctrine Of The Holy Trinity The Holy Trinity is, according to the Cambridge Dictionary of Philosophy, the theological doctrine that God consists of three persons (Audi, 928). Those persons are the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Each within the religion of Christianity are considered omnipotent and omniscient (IEP, URL). This theory validates the actions of the religion s savior JesusChrist, who as the Son of God(and part of the Holy Trinity) died a painful death of suffering for the sins of humans. This offers reasoning for the worship of different God s within the monotheistic religion. The concept of the Holy Trinity creates a paradoxical puzzle that many philosophers and theologians are still trying to explain to this day. However, during medieval times philosophers may have gone through greater lengths to explain the trinitarian view than any other era in philosophical history. The Catholic Church s council carries forth hearings relative to those of the United States judicial system, and has maintained this method since medieval times. • 25. Different Cultures Around The World There are many cultures around the world, each with a unique set of characteristics. For example, I identify myself as a Korean American. Education and family is valued over the individual. We hold the superstition that shaking one s leg means shaking away one s luck. As a Korean American, we believe that our elders should be respected. For example, when we see an elder, we bow and say hello. Birthday celebrations for immediate family members and relatives include eating seaweed soup to promote health. Growing up in a Korean American household, my family did not talk and discuss mental health. However, my family showed a lot of verbal and non verbal affection with one another. This is one kind of culture. Culture is denoted as a system of values, beliefs, ways of thinking, routines, rituals, and institutions established by a group or population ... provides ways of looking at the world ... determines patterns of feelings and behavior in everyday life (Brooks, 2013, p. 34). Two cultural models are used in order to categorize cultures into one group or the other. Two Cultural Models Individualistic. This is also known as the independent model of social systems. Many cultures in Europe, North America, Australia, and New Zealand (Brooks, 2013, p. 35) use this cultural model. Cultures that follow the individualistic model define self in terms of personal choices, goals, and achievements. This system is a self or ego centric system (Brooks, 2013, p. 35). The individual s
  • 26. Analysis Of I Dreamed The Last Diamond Darter I Dreamed The Last Diamond Darter is a very curious and peculiar play. Before seeing the play, I had no idea what it would be about. It s very interesting to go into a play, not knowing what s going to happen in the story and what the characters are like. Before I saw the show, I had an open mind and was looking forward to seeing a new show. Sadly, after seeing the show I was extremely disappointed in the playand was confused about the entire show. There are many reasons that can contribute to my last statement. First, the costumes and set design of the show. There were a total of four characters in this show and each characterhad their own uniqueness. The three girls in the play all had different costumes. These costumes were fine, but the problem was that I had no idea which character was which. It was so confusing and frustrating now knowing why that specific character was wearing those types of clothes. Throughout the play, I was able to get a read on why the characters were wearing what they were. It helped explained what type of character they were trying to portray in the story. The three women in the story wore jeans, leggings, boots, jackets, and long dresses. Now the gentleman that was in the play I believe played more than one character role in the show. From what I can remember he was a night watchman and a girl s boyfriend throughout the story. They did a better job of explaining his character and his costumes were pretty self explanatory. He wore a long

It was in this year,1095, that the beginning of the first, of nine, Crusades and thus the first series of religious wars between the Catholics and Muslims begun. The focus of this paper will remain on the Third Crusade (1189 1192 A.D) more specifically the actions of Islam s Warrior Hero б№ўalāḥ ad DД«n YЕ«suf ibn AyyЕ«b who was better known to the English as Saladin Sultan of Egypt. How did one individual gain the respect of both his Muslim followers and his enemies the Catholic Europeans? Throughout history Saladin has been portrayed as a charismatic, honourable, virtuous and chivalrous man by the historians and chroniclers of the Middle East and Europe. Even the Europeans who sought to dislike this man due to his religious affiliations could not, as he encompassed all the qualities in which a great leader and a good Christian was thought to possess. The sources produced during the medieval period were formulated by individuals with an education, these grouped individuals were limited to monks, priests and people of aristocracy. Due to this limitation it is obvious that the sources obtained will be biased and could obtain numerous inaccuracies. Because the sources on Saladin are written from both the perspectives of Catholics and Muslims it must be taken into consideration of the

Stakeholder Analysis Matrix For Anheuser-Busch ( AB ) Anheuser Busch While creating the Stakeholder Analysis Matrix for Anheuser Busch (AB), I found that the major external and internal stakeholders fell into either the Keep Satisfied or the Manage Closely categories, and only a few were in the Keep Informed and Monitor categories. I felt this way because when you are dealing with a product such as alcohol, the company has many risks involved which require close continuous analysis of certain stakeholders. Manage Closely I believe that currently AB is keeping a close eye on competitors, especially those throughout the craft beer industry. Over the past few years, AB has not only been monitoring the expansion and popularity of smaller breweries, but also has been acquiring craft breweries in order to compete with the growing craft beer industry. With the rapid growth of craft breweries, I believe AB has been focusing more effort on targeting those people that seek out craft beer or who are interested in trying more craft beers, which is why they have purchased smaller craft breweries such as Wicked Weed, 10 Barrel, Elysian, Blue Point, and Goose Island (Herz, 2017). Managing their competitors closely can help keep them one step ahead in markets and also in acquisitions within the industry. Another stakeholder that I listed under Manage Closely is the suppliers, but more specifically the suppliers of hops. Beer is essentially made with barley, water and hops, and without hops, AB would not be able to produce their beverages.

As an employer you tie several stipulations to the employees job duties for them to obtain in order to receive the bonus. Bonus structures are no longer as popular as they were during the boom years, however, some employers still employ the idea and the performance of their employees proves that it still works. Although bonus plans have begun to disappear, the increased performance of individual employees through the rewarding of set goals has allowed bonus structures to withstand the test of time in the workplace. A structured bonus plan is a great way of rewarding those employees that are producers without killing a company s budget. Implementing a sound bonus plan is a great way to encourage performance as long as the employee s goals are attainable. Be careful however because a simple bonus plan to motivate employee s performance can also be demotivating due to employee s inability to attain the set goal. Even older genres that have seemed to die out still have fans such as disco or polka. Many researchers discuss why people favor the music that they do. Music is played in the car, on the internet, on cellphones, and even behind commercials on television. It is hard to imagine a world without it. Now there are many reasons discussed about why people prefer one kind of music over another, such as one s age. One s age could determine what music was popular when they were a kid, or what genres they have been around to experience.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Music genres can be split into categories for what genders are dominating the majority of their listeners. Heavier music such as rap and rock seem to appeal more to a young male because of the reoccurring themes of aggression and independence. Whereas lighter music normally involves themes of emotion and love which a girl can better relate too. As mentioned above, I believe age, ethnicity, culture, and genetics all play a role in musical preference, but gender should not be left out. While some believe that music preference all belongs to the individual and not about fitting into the generic stereotypes. I disagree and believe that gender does take part in the music selection one makes. Literature Review Kelly D. Schwartz and Gregory T. The Dichotomy Over Civilian Gun Control Junie Kim AP Capstone Seminar Lewandowski 30 November 2015 Individual Research Report For decades, the United States has been split by a dichotomy over civilian gun control. Gun control is the term used to describe how firearms may be legally produced, sold, and used, (Gale). As stated in the Second Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed, (Gottesman/Brown). However, research seems to indicate that owning a gun or even just seeing one [can] change how people behave, (Striepe). Studies have shown that weapons negatively affect the individual s psychological processes. Actions of aggression or agitation have been shown to increase during experimental situations in which guns are in view of the subject. The purpose of this project was to determine the extent of how ownership of guns and other weapons could create conflict, and to propose a solution to minimize these consequences. By studying how weapons can affect humans intrinsically and psychologically by slowly changing behaviors and beliefs over time, insight can be gained on the true dangers of gun ownership. This scientific approach also provided a look at the deeper consequences of civilian weapon control, allowing for further refinement in the creation of a solution to reverse the effects of gun control in the future. In 1967, Leonard Berkowitz and Anthony LePage

The Type Of Blood Cancer Multiple myeloma (MM) is the second most common type of blood cancer.1 It is found in plasma cells inside the intermedullary canal of the diaphysis of a long bone.2 Plasma cells are a type of white blood cell. These abnormal, now cancerous cells accumulate and eventually outnumber the production of healthy cells. Like normal plasma cells, myeloma cells also produce antibodies. • 41. Union General William Tecumseh Sherman s Carolina Campaign... Union General William Tecumseh Sherman s Carolina campaign during the American Civil War led to the capital of South Carolina in the city of Columbia in early 1865. Sherman was employing a new military strategy of total war, in which he considered the civilian population and their property as military targets. Upon hearing of Sherman s march toward Columbia, the Confederate cavalry General Wade Hampton faced the reality that Columbia would be lost to Sherman. The question for Hampton was how to prepare for the invasion of Columbia with a focus on the disposition of supplies ranging from cotton, food, and alcohol, to military related supplies such as ammunition, rifles, and cannons. It was both obvious and imperative to the Confederacy that the Union could not take possession of these supplies, since this would simultaneously help the Union and seriously hurt the Confederacy. Additionally, the presence of the cotton would make the potential of fire a real danger for the citizenry and the buildings in which they lived, worked, gathered, and prayed. Confederate General Wade Hampton unsuccessfully employed the tenants of the current U.S. Army mission command philosophy during the Union General Sherman s campaign through South Carolina. Hampton s failure to follow the yet to be written philosophy of mission command both before and during Sherman s occupation of Columbia directly destroyed what little chance of winning the war the South may have clung to. Conversely, General
