Compare And Contrast Jefferson And New Jersey Plan
Both Hamilton and Jefferson worked alongside George Washington during his presidency. Hamilton
was appointed the first Secretary of Treasurer and Jefferson was the first Secretary of State. Jefferson
was the older man of the two with twelve years being born on 1743, in Virgina to a wealthy family,
while Hamilton was born on 1755 in the West Indies to a poor family. Jefferson had the best education
the colonies could offer due to his family s status as wealthy planters and slave owners giving
Jefferson plenty of opportunities to be successful himself. Hamilton had a different route due to his
poor family and mothers death and fathers abandonment of the family. Hamilton received his
education through people paying for him to go to the colonies ... Show more content on

Jefferson believes the constitution protected the right of the people and for independence both
Hamilton and Jefferson had opposing views. Jefferson argues that independence comes from land
ownership and if all the people can have an agrarian lifestyle. The idea mostly comes from how he
was born into a rich family and his father and himself were planters. Therefore he believed that if the
people are living fine independent lives where members of society can make their own food and live
on their own property the country as a collective will be independent as well. Hamilton disagreed and
believed the opposite that if the nation is independent than the people will have independence. For this
belief he wanted to start trade with other countries and in order to do that he thought America had to
start manufacturing and creating its own goods to trade with other countries. Hamilton s point is
stating how if the society wants people to make products that can be traded with other countries, then
it can open job opportunities for the citizens. Therefore the country will have independence by
creating their own goods for profit and the people will have independence by finding a job and being
able to pay for their food leading to their independence. Jefferson argued against this stating that if we
got to war with the countries that were trading with what happens then. Later on, after Hamilton s
death and during Jefferson s

PHL 260 E010 Does God intervene in the world? This may address matters of religious experience
and/or miracles. I will further give my personal thought and opinion on the question as well as discuss
two different viewpoints on the question. I will discuss the difference between Naturalists and
Supernaturalists as well as discussing the point of view on how miracles are not real according to
David Hume as well as discussing why I along with J.L Mackie and Richard Swinburne agree that
miracles are in fact real. Growing up as a Roman Catholic, I have always and without a doubt believed
in the divine work of God. I do believe that miracles do in fact take place each day throughout the

According to Mackie, The laws of nature describe the ways in which the world, including humans,
works when left to itself and not interfered with. A miracle occurs when the world is not left to itself,
when something distinct from the natural order as a whole intrudes into it. (Mackie 1982: 19 20) The
violation definition becomes practically equal to the earlier definition of a miracle as an event that
exceeds the dynamic power of nature. According to Mackie s design, it has the necessary feature that
it makes evident the connection between a miracle and supernatural being. Mackie also stated that
evidence that supports a simplification being a law of nature also supports the non occurrence of that

Liberal Arts Misperceptions
Why are many young Americans so uncomfortable with liberal arts? And why are countless high
school graduates shying away from this particular form of education? Just like anything else that is
popular, once liberal arts has been accurately, or inaccurately, discredited, the aftermath inevitably
spreads. As more information is being mistakenly spread, numerous liberal arts colleges are taking the
fall. To combat the onslaught of negative publicity, university officers are beginning to speak out to
discredit the invalid claims. Sanford J. Ungar, a journalist and president of Goucher College, is one of
the faculty members actively trying to disprove the accusations against liberal arts colleges and
educations. In his February 2010 article from the academic journal The Chronicle of Higher
Education, Ungar gives readers multiple examples of common misunderstandings about liberal arts
and then informs them why those examples are incorrect. Appropriately titled, Ungar s 7 Major
Misperceptions About the Liberal Arts is an easy go to guide when a person wants to learn more about
liberal arts. These readers, mainly students and parents looking toward a higher degree of education,
can read Ungar s essay and find new knowledge about the liberal arts discipline. As students and
parents are looking into colleges, their minds need to be open and free of biases. Sanford Ungar s
essay can help broaden the mindset of families, and even help make a decision to attend a liberal

therapy for Ana (Client) due to its concepts and the nature of the therapy. Solution Focused Therapy
does not take the past into consideration, it prefers to focus on the present and the future which will

Solution Focused Therapy is approach to formulate solutions for the clients future instead of dreading

Abbey Road Research Papers
Abbey Road is an iconic photograph taken by Iian Macmillan in the sixties. Iian stood on a ladder in
the middle of the road in order to capture the shot of the beatles, an originally british band that came to
the states, walking across the street in perfect sync. The photo itself lives on to this day throughout
Rock and Roll culture. The picture highlights the four members of the band walking across a street in
perfect sync. The sky is painted a simple sky blue and the trees are a deep emerald green. Behind the
Beatles is a road dotted with man older styled cars, some parked and in motion. The road itself is a

The boys, all dressed in different colors, gives a feeling of individuality and expressionism in the

conspiracy theory involving Paul. Details in Abbey Road such as the bare feet, the cigarette and John
Lennon s white suit led fans to believe Paul McCartney was dead and had been replaced by an

Abstract
The application of Field programmable Gate Array(FPGA) in the development of electronics circuit
control scheme has drawn much attention lately due to its shorter design cycle, lower cost and higher
density. This paper presents an FPGA based gate signal generator for single phase multilevel inverter
employing an sinusoidal PWM switching strategy to control its output voltage. The XILINX FPGA
based single phase multilevel PWM inverter was constructed by adding a bi directional switches to the
conventional bridge topology. The inverter can produce three and five different output voltage levels
across the load. FPGA is chosen for the hardware implementation of switching strategy mainly due to
its high computation speed that can ensure the accuracy of the instants that gating signals are
generated. VHDL language is used
to model the inverter switching strategies The PWM pulses was downloaded in
FPGA(XC3S400PQ208) from Spartan 3. In addition to FPGA, Xilinx/modelsim software was used
for simulation and verification of the proposed

Genetic Engineering And The Future Of The Destruction Of...
Genetic Engineering; Path to the Future of the Destruction of Society?
Being human, it s a natural desire to want other things that people have, whether we like it or not. We
are always comparing ourselves to other people. We are wanting to be taller, have this hair color, or
even want to have better writing skills. When we re born, you can t technically choose what you will
look like or what traits your parents will pass onto you. Advances in biotechnology have changed the
way we see DNA and how we can alter it to the way we want. You can have access to the way you
want to look or have the abilities that you desires. The field of genetic engineering has grown in such
ways where you can take sequences of DNA that control these certain traits and place them in your
sequence, giving you that desired traits. The storyline of any Sci Fi movie has come to reality. Genetic
engineering is the science that gives us the power to alter the very basics of life, and even with the
issues and possible negative consequence of the research, this technology is something that we need
for our benefit.
What is Genetic Engineering?
Genetic engineering is a very young technology. It is the modification of the traits and characteristics
of an organism by changing the DNA of the organism. DNA is seen as a universal language because
the code means the same thing in all species of animals. So when a trait is taken from one individual
and added to the genome of another individual it has the ability

The Fate of Oedipus in Oedipus the King
In Oedipus the King there comes a point in the play where Oedipus
learns something that plays an important role throughout the play. He
learns from a oracle that he will eventually kill his own Father and sleep
with his own mother. As one could imagine this is a shock to Oedipus, and
he does not believe the oracle. However, he cannot prevent any of this
from happening because it is his fate. Oedipus is a victim of circumstances
beyond his control, his life had already been planned by the Greek Gods.
Throughout the whole play there are references made to many of the

He had no way to control what his parents did to him after he was born.
Then, eighteen years later, he leaves Corinth for Delphi, to check on his
parentage at the oracle of Apollo. The oracle, though, gives him a
horrific prediction. Which is that he will kill his father and sleep with
his mother, which are the two most inconceivable crime in a Greek family.
After hearing this he flees Corinth and heads toward Thebes believing to of
left his father behind in case the oracle was right.
However, the god Apollo has somewhat tricked him. Since he
believes that his real father is Polybus, but he does not yet know that his
father is the King of Thebes, which is where he is going. Along the way he
meets an old man driving a wagon of slaves at a place where three roads
meet, and he then precedes to kill him.
Years pass after this incident, during which time he becomes King
of Thebes, marries Jocasta (his mother), and fathers four children by her.
Slowly, Thebes becomes engulfed by a horrific plague, which kills animals,
children, and crops. Oedipus, being the brave king he is, promises to save
his city. Since plagues are caused by pollution, and the pollution is
caused by sins the gods are the only one s who can reveal it s cause.
Oedipus sends his brother in law, Creon, to see the oracle at Delphi again,

A public good is a good that individuals can consume without reducing its availability to other
individuals. These goods are typically referred to as nonrivalrous and nonexcludable. A common
resource or open access resource is a resource that provides users with tangible benefits. A concern
that common resources have is overuse. When talking about overuse it is very natural to mention the
free rider problem that many countries are facing and especially Australia. The theory behind a free
rider is a person who benefits from a good that possibly have been made or paid for by others without
contributing to the good themselves. In the Africa Progress Panel s 2015 report, it was stated that
Australia has gone from a leadership to a free rider status when talking about climate diplomacy. It is
believed that developed countries such as Australia are causing the majority of the problem through
for example gas emissions. A research shows that many of the countries who are the ones creating the
most gas emitting are also the ones who are least vulnerable to climate change and are essentially the
free riders. It is here important to remember that a modern example of a common resource is climate
stability. The problem with Australia essentially being a free rider is that Australia is a country with a
lot of wildlife and nature. Many people travel to Australia to experience the nature and wildlife but if
they continue being free riders it can result in lower GDP and lower income per capita because the
wildlife and beautiful nature with high possibility would be ruined thus fewer people would want to
visit the country. An example of this would be the Great Barrier Reef who recently was pronounced

Core Values In Public Administration
Core values are a wide expression to describe the principles by which we describe individual,
occupation, or business. Through the development of brainstorming and studying my professional
experience, I have established in a set of values that are very essential in public administration. In
order to succeed successfully at an organizational and personal level in the public administration,
these values must be trained on a daily basis.
To exercise transparency in public administration is to certify peoples the accessibility of data which is
thought public. This has to be a business objective, and is to be taken into explanation when showing
all public industries irrespective of one s job title. If the objective of a business is to help the citizens
to the greatest of their capability, then failing or avoiding achieving transparency would affect major
harm to the connection between them and the citizen they are aiming to help.
Accountability is to obey to a regular of professionalism in the workroom. Also, it means to recognize
that the professional events are being supported by the peoples of this nation. As such, public workers
are held accountable by peoples for keeping the operation of their business. Accountability is an
essential feature of the functionality of any business private or public. Basically, it reminds people that
while they are working by a professional business they will be held accountable for their actions.
Each public administrator is requested to follow

The Disadvantages Of Artificial Intelligence
The rapid technological growth brings modern innovations in the field of technology. There is an
enthusiasm toward a new technology increases suspicion and anxieties regarding its probable negative
and positive social influence in today s world. Surrounding us are various technologies which are
assisting humans to live their life with more luxury for instance Artificial Intelligence and social
media as well. Nowadays, Artificial Intelligence is in routine use in various field and it concentrates
on providing solutions to real life problems to make it easier (Ferrari, Paladino, Jetten, 2016).
However, social media develop to a phenomenon that has triggered a shift in the way the world
communicates. The rapid pace of advances in technology has considerable benefits and drawbacks.
These will be discussed in this essay. In addition, this work aims to clarify which technological
advance is more dangerous to humans and evaluate the level of threat. Most experts agree that
Artificial Intelligence is on the increase in various fields. It has become one of the most controversial
scientific issues of the twenty first century. It raises the unemployment rate, workers will not find
enough jobs for them and some of them may lose their work. As a result of technology, according to
Wilson, Daugherty and Bianzino (2017), The threat that automation will eliminate a broad swath of
jobs across the world economy is now well established. As Artificial Intelligence (AI) systems become

The Individuals With Disabilities Education Act Orders
The Individuals With Disabilities Education Act orders all states to give disabled students a free and
appropriate education. Many schools in the United States mainstream disabled students and have
succeeded in properly educating them, along with creating a safe environment where they are socially
comfortable and accepted. However, there are too many incidents where teachers improperly handle
these students and administrators do not give enough money to fund adequate supplies for these
students. Although disabled students gain social benefits when mainstreamed, they ultimately do not
thrive in such settings due to immoral methods and insufficient budgets. In academic settings, disabled

Most importantly, children with disabilities have the opportunities to observe, imitate and model the
language use of their peers who do not have disabilities (Grabmeier). By following their nondisabled
friends, disabled students learn how to better communicate their thoughts, feelings and ideas which
makes it easier for teachers to help them and understand them. Another beneficial skill disabled
students receive through mainstreaming is positive thinking. According to Kathy Foust, the
mainstreaming environment allows disabled students to learn what type of behavior is appropriate and
what is not. They learn that listening to a teacher leads to little or no punishments while disobeying a
teacher leads to more punishments. Foust also includes that mainstreaming stimulates self esteem
because the disabled know they are in regular classes, which makes them proud of themselves. These
students believe that since they are in classrooms with nondisabled students, they are in higher and
more advance classes. In other words, since students around the disabled are capable of extraordinary
things, the disabled feel like they are extraordinary as well, thus having an improved self esteem. The

Dr. Dodds, And Conroy s The Freedom Of The City
The true statement, although Dr. Dodds, and Conroy s ... outsider status makes possible a useful
degree of critical distance, ultimately Conroy and Dodds are ill equipped to explain communal
passions that shaped political life in the North during the 1980 s , is misleading. The statement suggest
that Dr. Dodds and Conroy s outsider status automatically gives them the ability to use critical
distance, however both John Conroy, in his book Belfast Diary, and Dr Dodds, in Brian Friel s The

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Foreign Direct Investment
In all countries that are concerned to trade relations, they follow a trade policy which defines
standards, goals, rules and regulations between two or more countries. These policies are particular to
each country and are formulated by its public officials. A country s trade policy includes taxes
imposed on import and export, examination regulations, and tariffs. Their aim is to boost the nation s
international trade (Azzam, H., T. 2002). One of these several trade policies is the foreign direct
investment that encounters an investment in an industry by a shareholder from another country, for
which the foreign investor has control over the company purchase.
Let s talk about Investment from one country into another normally by companies rather than
governments that involve establishing operations or acquiring tangible assets, including stakes in other
businesses. Foreign direct investment is well known from group of foreign investment by the factor of
control. FDI is a transfer of ownership; it usually involves the transfer of factors matching to capital,

Lorde s Writing Style
With the alternative music scene mainly dominated by guitar wielding male artists who bear similar
sounds and tunes, it is beyond refreshing to hear the unique melodies and mysterious tones of Ella
Yelich O Connor. The New Zealand native singer songwriter, who is more recently known as Lorde
has been compared to nineties alternative bands such as Mazzy Star and Portishead (Lipshutz, Jason).
According to a Clash Music article, Lorde s songs do not rely on open letters, open legs, or twerking.
Her moments of sharp satire and sentimental brevity are what s helping her stand out among her pop
competitors like Miley Cyrus and Taylor Swift (Zadeh, Jason). Worried less about the emotional
baggage of a prosperous music career, Lorde would rather ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Lorde s first performance in the United States was a headline show at Le Poisson Rouge in New York
City on August 6, 2013. The captivating tune intrigued radio listeners from around the world,
becoming the first song by a female solo artist to steal the number one spot on Nielsen BDS based
Alternative Chart since Tracy Bonham s Mother, Mother in 1996, five months before Lorde was even
born (Billboard Magazine). Royals went on to accomplish much more than just that. The single took
home Best Song of 2013 by MTV News. The hit song was also nominated for four GRAMMY Awards
in 2013, winning two: Song of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance (Grammy.com) Who would
have guessed that the biggest breakout star of 2013 would be a disarmingly regular teenager and
would set the mark for the longest lead female reign in a twenty five year history of the Billboard
Alternative Music Chart (Trust, Gary)? Despite the release of Lorde s initial album in 2013, the singer
songwriter has been fairly busy since then creating an astonishing soundtrack for The Hunger Games
movie in 2014. As for what comes next, Lorde and Little are hard at work on a second album.
Previously, Little stated that Lorde is to begin work on her LP in March, although

Jimi Hendrix Sound Analysis
Jimi Hendrix s melody isn t exactly the easiest to remember simply because it s very jumpy in the
sense it doesn t focus on one piece, it keeps changing the beat but that s just my opinion. Fire is an
activity in soul, hallucinogenic shake, and jazz enlivened drumming. One of the champions on the
introduction collection, the melody and recording displayed the really crude vitality that the band was
prepared to do. Set in an up beat soul base, the tune s bass and guitar riffs are compelling and played
dangerously fast. Melodiously, the tune is based around Jimi Hendrix s awesome style, and the sexual
risk in the tune radiates through noisy and clear. A few live forms are in presence, yet the March 1968
form on The Jimi Hendrix Experience box set is decidedly crushing. This harmony is dissonant. ...

If it were more of a happy song (upbeat) then I would not feel the same about how I feel about this
song. A standout amongst the most critical parts of turning into a skilled, balanced and popular guitar
player is a commitment to the craft of rhythm guitar playing. This is something that doesn t get tended
to almost enough inside instructional parameters, and I trust that is on the grounds that it can be harder
to rehearse mood guitar than it is to work on soloing strategies. All guitar players love to play and
practice performances throughout the day, yet having the train to rehearse musicality guitar is another
issue totally. For me, the investigation and energy about the specialty of musicality guitar were
enormously enlivened by the music of Jimi Hendrix. This song makes me feel rushed and energized
because of the anger being put into the song and the energy I picked up from the drummer. I

out of low motivation levels and dissatisfaction with one s work. Unscheduled leaves hurt a company

Racial Diversity In Churches
A study conducted on 11,000 Evangelical Lutheran Church congregations between 1993 and 2012
claims that racial diversity in churches leads to decline in average attendance.
The research titled Congregational Diversity and Attendance in a Mainline Protestant Denomination
was carried out by Baylor University and is published in Journal for Scientific Study of Religion.
Associate professor of sociology at Baylor and the lead author of study, Kevin Dougherty, said that the
findings do not imply that racial diversity is detrimental to church growth or sustenance, but that
congregations that started off as single race communities will have problems accommodating different
ethnicities later on.
Racial diversity itself is not a detriment to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Also, the study said that predominantly white communities were more likely to experience growth
over time.
The authors of the study tried to test the notion which was held by people of older generations that
homogenous churches have more chances to grow, as against the growing trend among the white
churches to diversify congregations.
That philosophy for a long time discouraged church leaders from striving for diversity, said study co
author Gerardo Martí. But in coming to terms with the historic racial segregation of American
congregations, white pastors in the 1990s aggressively committed to overcoming discrimination,
urging members to bring in those from ancestral backgrounds and reaffirm the Gospel as rooted in
relationships, unity and love. Racial diversity has become a central, and sometimes dominating
ambition for many white churches.
Our research implicitly evaluates the effectiveness of denominational initiatives to become diverse,
revealing the extent to which such grand administrative calls for diversification lead to measurable
success at the local level, Martí

Psychodynamic Personality Profile of Johnny Depp Essay
Personality, like most core Psychology subjects, is difficult to define. Personality is essentially the
science of describing and understanding people. No two people are the same; even identical twins will
tell you that they are very different to their identical counterpart. There are some who are anxious and
there are those who are risk takers. There are some who are carefree while there are those who are
highly strung and there are those who are over confident while some are just plain shy. It is this issue
of differences that are fundamental to the study and examination of personality.

Research also shows indicates that the Big Five has distinct biological substrates thereby linking trait
perspective with the biological perspective (DeYoung, Quilty Peterson, 2007). However this
convergence of perspectives is actually productive in that all perspectives by themselves have their
disadvantages as well as their advantages. If all perspectives can coincide with one another,
explanations of personality will become so much easier.
The psychoanalytic perspective is the most interesting theory of the analysis of an individual and their
personality. Initially developed by Freud during the latter half of the 1900s, it deals with, among other
things, the irrational and less predictable patterns of behaviour and human thinking, which is what
most other theories of personality often leave out and are criticised for it. In understanding Johnny
Depp, a psychodynamic perspective best accounts for his personality: as a complete theory, it can
explain his behaviour from when he was a child to becoming a famous movie star, integrates other
theories into its analysis, such as Evolutionary and Learning perspectives, thus providing a fairly
reliable and accurate interpretation of his personality.
As a kid, Johnny Depp had a troublesome childhood. His father was continually searching for secure
work in order to support his family, resulting in them moving around a lot, living in motels, shifting
from place to place. This no doubt took a

Sitis Inversus Essay
First seen and recognized in 1643 by Marco Severino, dextrocardia with situs inversus is a rare
condition that affects 1 in 10,000 people, or 0.1% of the population. The word, sitis inversus is a
shortened latin version of sitis inversus viscerum, which means inverted position of the internal
organs. The heart and organs are completely flipped (or mirrored ) opposite of what they normally
should be. Even though it s a rare condition, those who do have it can have some health issues that can
be serious, and others may not have issues at all.
It is a congenital condition and believed to be transmitted by autosomal recessive genes from the
parents, meaning each parent has to have this trait in order to pass it off to the offspring. If the embryo

Another issue to watch out for are abdominal obstructions. Due to the organs being backwards, some

Reflection on Reading

Looking Back In Order to Move Forward
As a future elementary school teacher, I have always thought the task of teaching kids could be a
rewarding and gratifying experience. However, I recently realized that in order to obtain these
rewarding experiences the teacher and students must work hard and with determination. Learning to
read can be a very daunting task for a youngster. Therefore, as a teacher, it is your job to facilitate
positive reading strategies from the start. Looking back at my experiences as an early reader, I can

I feel learning the phonics of letters through the rhythms of music truly helped me as I began to sit
down with my first readers.
As I began applying what I was learning in the songs to some basic basal readers like Dick and Jane I
was able to find patterns between the phonics in the songs and the words on the page. We had books
that were themed each week with certain phonic sounds. The sound was then repeated throughout the
book but in different words. We were able to take these books home and practice with our parents. I
think that practice and repetition are key in continuing to recognize letters with their phonic sounds. I
feel these books served the purpose of achieving good reading skills for me as a child, and continue to
be helpful to children today as they learn to read.
There are two other techniques that my teacher used to help teach us how to read. One I consider to be
a good strategy and the other I am not too fond of. The first approach was using a tape recorder and
head sets. We would sit down with a book and follow along with our finger as a voice was reading the
book to us in our ear. I think this particular approach works because it releases the anxiety and stress
of having to pick apart the words on a page in order to learn them. By following along they are able to

Test Anxiety Research
Test anxiety is a feeling of fear and worry for those individuals who will have performance
evaluations (Brown et. al, 2011 as cited by Madridano, 2013). According to McNally (2002), there are
two types of test anxiety somatic and cognitive. Somatic anxiety is anxiety provoked by bodily
symptoms of tension such as butterflies in the stomach while cognitive anxiety is provoked by mental
concerns or worry which is supported by Cassidy and Johnson (2002) that cognitive anxiety was able
to accurately reflect the experience of highly anxious students during testing situations. Worry serves
as interference during the acquisition of information, as well as before and after evaluative tasks.
Students who think about the negative outcome of their performance evaluations anxiety crashes their
performance. Social scientist Mac Leod (2004) supports test anxiety theory by looking how a student
evaluates his/ her ability to succeed. In an article distributed by en.wikipedia.org, test anxiety is a
combination of physiological over arousal, tension and somatic symptoms, along with worry, dread,

The Current Educational Curriculum Faces
Introduction
There are various kinds of pressures that the current educational curriculum faces. Such pressures
include ensuring the rights of children are protected, ensuring that cultural diversity in learning
institutions is not a barrier to learning, making the education system provide learners with essential
skills that can enable them participate and compete effectively in the globalized world, ensuring that
children from economically challenged backgrounds obtain information similar to their counterparts
that come from wealthy backgrounds and enabling learners to learn independently (Ananiadou
Claro,2009). Therefore, the system must be consistent with national priorities, it must also take
consideration of the fundamental changes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
So it is necessary to apply care and relationship education in a classroom is by creating a classroom
community. This will create an environment where students feel valued and connected to their teacher
and to one another. Some of the benefits of a school community include the growth of students social,
emotional, and academic competence, improvement in collaborative learning, positive relationships
with others, and inclusion. When students are involved with a community, their behavior can change
and allow students to be more concerned about others, improved skills in resolving conflict, and an
anti bullying environment. In a community environment, student s motivation is improved and their
attendance is also improved.
Moral education
The current system of education faces a challenge of enhancing social justice. In this case, social
justice entails privileging the underprivileged students to ensure they obtain the skills that their
privileged counterparts obtain. Ideally, many students emerge from different economic backgrounds.
Students that emerge from wealthy backgrounds can obtain all education that they might need.
However, those that are underprivileged are less likely to obtain an essential education because they
cannot afford it (Darling Hammond, 2015). Therefore, the school curriculum has a task of establishing
measures of ensuring that every student obtains the required information regardless of his or her
economic background to make

Analyzing Seamus Heaney s Blackberry-Picking
The poem Blackberry Picking is about a young man s coming of age, and how the lesson he learns,
about picking blackberries, relates to the human realization that reality is not always how we want it to
be. Seamus Heaney illustrates this lesson by showing the narrator s unabiding desire for the
blackberries when he speaks of the lust for picking and how he was willing to go out in the fields to
pick the blackberries despite having to go where briars scratched and wet grass bleached our boots in
obvious discomfort (7 8,10). Furthermore, after the blackberries had turned bad the narrator clearly
tells us, each year I hoped they d keep, knew they would not (24). This final bit at the end shows how
the narrator matures and has come to accept ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The first thing that is noticeable about the way Seamus wrote this poem is his use of rhyme or lack
thereof. He uses slant rhymes throughout most of the poem an example being sun and ripen on lines
one and two. This could be interpreted to portray how the speaker feels. The speaker wants the
blackberries to stay sweet despite his experience picking blackberries that would always end up
rotting. At the same time, the slant rhymes are so close to rhyming, but never fully do creating a
bittersweet feeling that symbolizes how the speaker loves the blackberries, but how he hates how they
rot. In the text this is reinforced when he says, I always felt like crying. It wasn t fair (22). Another
example of Seamus creating this bittersweet tone in the poem is how he uses iambic pentameter
throughout most of the poem, but similar to how the slant rhymes don t quite work, on every couple of
lines he breaks the meter and adds an extra syllable. This feeling is continued throughout the poem
until the second stanza when Seamus starts to correct these things. He does this by starting to write in
true iambic pentameter except for one time on line 21 when sour adds two extra syllables sustaining
the rhythm he built up, but still adding emphasis to the word sour. Seamus connects the bitter sweet or
sour tone to a line that is out of place. Eventually, the poem is exactly what it

Essay about Sonny s Blues
The Evolution of a Relationship through Music
In Sonny s Blues , theme, form, and image blend into perfect harmony and rise to a thundering climax.
The story, written in 1957 carries a vital social message for us today. It tells of two black brothers
struggle to understand one another. The older brother, a well off Harlem algebra teacher, is the
unnamed narrator. The younger man is Sonny, a jazz pianist who, when the story opens, has just been
arrested for peddling and using heroin. In Sonny s Blues, chronological time is upset yet the author,
Baldwin, allows everything to come together in the end. In Sonny s Blues the tragedy and suffering

Sonny s answer, equating drug addiction with prison, and both with Harlem, shows his need to reach
his brother. The two men have finally begun to communicate with one another. The letters continue
until Sonny s return to New York when the narrator, who has started at last to worry about Sonny,
about the life that Sonny lived inside, takes him home. The narrator acts and feels awkward, wanting
only to hear that Sonny is safe and refusing to accept the fact that he might not be. Through this we
realize that the two brothers finally have an understanding for each other. Although the understanding
is limited, it grows immensely throughout the story.
In the flashbacks the narrator recalls events that bring together the past, present, and future. We learn
of another pair of brothers, Sonny s father and uncle. The uncle, like Sonny, was a musician, but he
was killed one night after being run over by some drunken white men. Parallels are drawn between
both their father and uncle and Sonny. The narrator s mother makes this apparent when she tells him, I
ain t telling you all this to make you scared or bitter or to make you hate nobody. I m telling you this
because you got a brother. And the world ain t changed (41). She tells her older son all this so he will
look after his brother, but her death, occurring shortly after this conversation, only shows the
immeasurable gulf between the two boys. After the narrator was married he forces Sonny to live

Relationship Between The Old And New Testament
Relationship between the Old and New Testament
The relationship of the Old Testament and the New Testament has been the cause for a series of
debates for many generations. In some cases, the Bible is believed to be just a random assortment of
individual scrolls brought together in no precise fashion and for no particular reason, with the Old and
New Testament being completely separated from one another, this is of course false. The Bible is, as a
whole, the given Word of God brought together by a variety of human authors under the Divine
Inspiration of the One True Divine Author, God Himself. Similarly, the Old Testament should not be
neglected and replaced by the New Testament, as the New Testament is deeply rooted within the Old
Testament and the Old Testament is brought into full manifestation, through Jesus Christ, within the
New Testament. Therefore, the New Testament cannot exist without the Old Testament and the Old
Testament cannot become fulfilled without the New Testament. Throughout the world, in many
different religions, the Bible is used as a guide for life during our time on earth, however, some have
taken it upon themselves to edit the Word of God and remove parts of scripture that they believe to be
false or irrelevant. The Catholic Church understands that the Bible exists without error, because of
God s intervention and inspiration during its development, and that we are to accept and become
educated on all parts of the Bible in order to

Joan of Arc Essay
Joan of Arc In the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City the painting Joan of Arc by Jules
Bastien Lepage hangs in the B. Gerald Cantor Sculpture Gallery. This Piece is rather large and was
done with oil paint on canvas, its dimensions being approximately eight feet tall with a width of ten
feet. When walking toward Bastien Lapage s painting, it s size and realism grabs one s attention, and
then holds it while this scene of Joan of Arc seems to take place right before one s eyes. The corridor
where the painting is displayed is part of the museums permanent collection. The gallery is composed
of many sculptures with paintings placed between them; almost all of the work is French and done
sometime in the 1800 s. This long ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
St. Michael is positioned perfectly upright with a majestic look as he is holding a sword away from his
body horizontally with both hands. His body is covered with a golden body suit of armor except for
his head, which is turned toward Joan and has a full halo behind it. Margaret and Catherine are both
wearing white silky and flowing veils on their heads. There are white flowers in their hair, and both
have golden circles over their heads as halos. Their dresses are also flowing and painted with light
pink and blue. Margaret is positioned upright, her hands clasped by her chest, and her head to the side
looking towards Joan, while Catherine is bent over with her head facing down and both hands over her
face.
Bastien Lepage showed his ability for capturing the naturalistic look of Joan, but he did not use this
ability to its full extent with the saints. The colors used on the saints are not quite as vivid as with
Joan. Michael s golden body armor and silver sword are not really shining at all, and all three halos
seem to be placed there without any real signs of glowing. The shadowing and detail work in their
clothing and skin are also not quite as life like as Joan. All together the three images of these saints
appear to be somewhat hazy.
The rest of the painting is a landscape of Joan s garden with the back wall of her house in the distance,
and in front of the saints is a stool

to the hairline. If Pt has perspiration on forehead the probe is also touched behind earlobe.
Levels of preventive health care:
Three levels of preventative care are:
Primary focuses on health promotion and protection against specific health problems or health risks.
Primary prevention precedes disease or dysfunction and is applied to generally healthy individuals or
groups. Examples include: Immunizations; risk assessments for specific disease i.e. diabetes; health
education about injury and poisoning prevention.
Secondary focuses on early identification of health problems and prompt intervention to alleviate
health problems. Goal is to identify people in early stages of disease process and to limit future
disability. It is curative in nature. It emphasizes health maintenance for people with health problems
(i.e. someone with diabetes who has it under control). This level includes prevention of complications
and disabilities. Examples include: Encouraging regular medical/ dental checkups; Teaching self exam
of breast; screening surveys hypertension).
Tertiary focuses on restoration and rehabilitation with the goal

  • 2. Compare And Contrast Jefferson And New Jersey Plan Both Hamilton and Jefferson worked alongside George Washington during his presidency. Hamilton was appointed the first Secretary of Treasurer and Jefferson was the first Secretary of State. Jefferson was the older man of the two with twelve years being born on 1743, in Virgina to a wealthy family, while Hamilton was born on 1755 in the West Indies to a poor family. Jefferson had the best education the colonies could offer due to his family s status as wealthy planters and slave owners giving Jefferson plenty of opportunities to be successful himself. Hamilton had a different route due to his poor family and mothers death and fathers abandonment of the family. Hamilton received his education through people paying for him to go to the colonies ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Jefferson believes the constitution protected the right of the people and for independence both Hamilton and Jefferson had opposing views. Jefferson argues that independence comes from land ownership and if all the people can have an agrarian lifestyle. The idea mostly comes from how he was born into a rich family and his father and himself were planters. Therefore he believed that if the people are living fine independent lives where members of society can make their own food and live on their own property the country as a collective will be independent as well. Hamilton disagreed and believed the opposite that if the nation is independent than the people will have independence. For this belief he wanted to start trade with other countries and in order to do that he thought America had to start manufacturing and creating its own goods to trade with other countries. Hamilton s point is stating how if the society wants people to make products that can be traded with other countries, then it can open job opportunities for the citizens. Therefore the country will have independence by creating their own goods for profit and the people will have independence by finding a job and being able to pay for their food leading to their independence. Jefferson argued against this stating that if we got to war with the countries that were trading with what happens then. Later on, after Hamilton s death and during Jefferson s ... I will further give my personal thought and opinion on the question as well as discuss two different viewpoints on the question. I will discuss the difference between Naturalists and Supernaturalists as well as discussing the point of view on how miracles are not real according to David Hume as well as discussing why I along with J.L Mackie and Richard Swinburne agree that miracles are in fact real. A miracle occurs when the world is not left to itself, when something distinct from the natural order as a whole intrudes into it. (Mackie 1982: 19 20) The violation definition becomes practically equal to the earlier definition of a miracle as an event that exceeds the dynamic power of nature. • 4. Liberal Arts Misperceptions Why are many young Americans so uncomfortable with liberal arts? And why are countless high school graduates shying away from this particular form of education? Just like anything else that is popular, once liberal arts has been accurately, or inaccurately, discredited, the aftermath inevitably spreads. As more information is being mistakenly spread, numerous liberal arts colleges are taking the fall. To combat the onslaught of negative publicity, university officers are beginning to speak out to discredit the invalid claims. Sanford J. Ungar, a journalist and president of Goucher College, is one of the faculty members actively trying to disprove the accusations against liberal arts colleges and educations. In his February 2010 article from the academic journal The Chronicle of Higher Education, Ungar gives readers multiple examples of common misunderstandings about liberal arts and then informs them why those examples are incorrect. Appropriately titled, Ungar s 7 Major Misperceptions About the Liberal Arts is an easy go to guide when a person wants to learn more about liberal arts. These readers, mainly students and parents looking toward a higher degree of education, can read Ungar s essay and find new knowledge about the liberal arts discipline. As students and parents are looking into colleges, their minds need to be open and free of biases. Sanford Ungar s essay can help broaden the mindset of families, and even help make a decision to attend a liberal ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This paper presents an FPGA based gate signal generator for single phase multilevel inverter employing an sinusoidal PWM switching strategy to control its output voltage. The XILINX FPGA based single phase multilevel PWM inverter was constructed by adding a bi directional switches to the conventional bridge topology. The inverter can produce three and five different output voltage levels across the load. FPGA is chosen for the hardware implementation of switching strategy mainly due to its high computation speed that can ensure the accuracy of the instants that gating signals are generated. VHDL language is used to model the inverter switching strategies The PWM pulses was downloaded in FPGA(XC3S400PQ208) from Spartan 3. In addition to FPGA, Xilinx/modelsim software was used for simulation and verification of the proposed ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Being human, it s a natural desire to want other things that people have, whether we like it or not. We are always comparing ourselves to other people. We are wanting to be taller, have this hair color, or even want to have better writing skills. When we re born, you can t technically choose what you will look like or what traits your parents will pass onto you. Advances in biotechnology have changed the way we see DNA and how we can alter it to the way we want. You can have access to the way you want to look or have the abilities that you desires. The field of genetic engineering has grown in such ways where you can take sequences of DNA that control these certain traits and place them in your sequence, giving you that desired traits. The storyline of any Sci Fi movie has come to reality. Genetic engineering is the science that gives us the power to alter the very basics of life, and even with the issues and possible negative consequence of the research, this technology is something that we need for our benefit. A public good is a good that individuals can consume without reducing its availability to other individuals. These goods are typically referred to as nonrivalrous and nonexcludable. A common resource or open access resource is a resource that provides users with tangible benefits. A concern that common resources have is overuse. When talking about overuse it is very natural to mention the free rider problem that many countries are facing and especially Australia. The theory behind a free rider is a person who benefits from a good that possibly have been made or paid for by others without contributing to the good themselves. In the Africa Progress Panel s 2015 report, it was stated that Australia has gone from a leadership to a free rider status when talking about climate diplomacy. It is believed that developed countries such as Australia are causing the majority of the problem through for example gas emissions. A research shows that many of the countries who are the ones creating the most gas emitting are also the ones who are least vulnerable to climate change and are essentially the free riders. It is here important to remember that a modern example of a common resource is climate stability. The problem with Australia essentially being a free rider is that Australia is a country with a lot of wildlife and nature. Many people travel to Australia to experience the nature and wildlife but if they continue being free riders it can result in lower GDP and lower income per capita because the wildlife and beautiful nature with high possibility would be ruined thus fewer people would want to visit the country. Learning to read can be a very daunting task for a youngster. Therefore, as a teacher, it is your job to facilitate positive reading strategies from the start. I feel learning the phonics of letters through the rhythms of music truly helped me as I began to sit down with my first readers. As I began applying what I was learning in the songs to some basic basal readers like Dick and Jane I was able to find patterns between the phonics in the songs and the words on the page. We had books that were themed each week with certain phonic sounds. The sound was then repeated throughout the book but in different words. We were able to take these books home and practice with our parents. I think that practice and repetition are key in continuing to recognize letters with their phonic sounds. I feel these books served the purpose of achieving good reading skills for me as a child, and continue to be helpful to children today as they learn to read. There are two other techniques that my teacher used to help teach us how to read. One I consider to be a good strategy and the other I am not too fond of. The first approach was using a tape recorder and head sets. We would sit down with a book and follow along with our finger as a voice was reading the book to us in our ear. I think this particular approach works because it releases the anxiety and stress of having to pick apart the words on a page in order to learn them. By following along they are able to develop listening skills and hear the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 39. Test Anxiety Research Test anxiety is a feeling of fear and worry for those individuals who will have performance evaluations (Brown et. al, 2011 as cited by Madridano, 2013). According to McNally (2002), there are two types of test anxiety somatic and cognitive. Somatic anxiety is anxiety provoked by bodily symptoms of tension such as butterflies in the stomach while cognitive anxiety is provoked by mental concerns or worry which is supported by Cassidy and Johnson (2002) that cognitive anxiety was able to accurately reflect the experience of highly anxious students during testing situations. Worry serves as interference during the acquisition of information, as well as before and after evaluative tasks. Students who think about the negative outcome of their performance evaluations anxiety crashes their performance. Social scientist Mac Leod (2004) supports test anxiety theory by looking how a student evaluates his/ her ability to succeed. So it is necessary to apply care and relationship education in a classroom is by creating a classroom community. This will create an environment where students feel valued and connected to their teacher and to one another. Some of the benefits of a school community include the growth of students social, emotional, and academic competence, improvement in collaborative learning, positive relationships with others, and inclusion. When students are involved with a community, their behavior can change and allow students to be more concerned about others, improved skills in resolving conflict, and an anti bullying environment. In a community environment, student s motivation is improved and their attendance is also improved. Moral education The current system of education faces a challenge of enhancing social justice. In this case, social justice entails privileging the underprivileged students to ensure they obtain the skills that their privileged counterparts obtain. Ideally, many students emerge from different economic backgrounds. Students that emerge from wealthy backgrounds can obtain all education that they might need. However, those that are underprivileged are less likely to obtain an essential education because they cannot afford it (Darling Hammond, 2015). Analyzing Seamus Heaney s Blackberry-Picking The poem Blackberry Picking is about a young man s coming of age, and how the lesson he learns, about picking blackberries, relates to the human realization that reality is not always how we want it to be. Seamus Heaney illustrates this lesson by showing the narrator s unabiding desire for the blackberries when he speaks of the lust for picking and how he was willing to go out in the fields to pick the blackberries despite having to go where briars scratched and wet grass bleached our boots in obvious discomfort (7 8,10). Furthermore, after the blackberries had turned bad the narrator clearly tells us, each year I hoped they d keep, knew they would not (24). This final bit at the end shows how the narrator matures and has come to accept ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The first thing that is noticeable about the way Seamus wrote this poem is his use of rhyme or lack thereof. He uses slant rhymes throughout most of the poem an example being sun and ripen on lines one and two. This could be interpreted to portray how the speaker feels. The speaker wants the blackberries to stay sweet despite his experience picking blackberries that would always end up rotting. At the same time, the slant rhymes are so close to rhyming, but never fully do creating a bittersweet feeling that symbolizes how the speaker loves the blackberries, but how he hates how they rot. In the text this is reinforced when he says, I always felt like crying. It wasn t fair (22). Another example of Seamus creating this bittersweet tone in the poem is how he uses iambic pentameter throughout most of the poem, but similar to how the slant rhymes don t quite work, on every couple of lines he breaks the meter and adds an extra syllable. This feeling is continued throughout the poem until the second stanza when Seamus starts to correct these things. He does this by starting to write in true iambic pentameter except for one time on line 21 when sour adds two extra syllables sustaining the rhythm he built up, but still adding emphasis to the word sour. Seamus connects the bitter sweet or sour tone to a line that is out of place. Eventually, the poem is exactly what it ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The younger man is Sonny, a jazz pianist who, when the story opens, has just been arrested for peddling and using heroin. Sonny s answer, equating drug addiction with prison, and both with Harlem, shows his need to reach his brother. The two men have finally begun to communicate with one another. The letters continue until Sonny s return to New York when the narrator, who has started at last to worry about Sonny, about the life that Sonny lived inside, takes him home. The narrator acts and feels awkward, wanting only to hear that Sonny is safe and refusing to accept the fact that he might not be. Through this we realize that the two brothers finally have an understanding for each other. Although the understanding is limited, it grows immensely throughout the story. In the flashbacks the narrator recalls events that bring together the past, present, and future. We learn of another pair of brothers, Sonny s father and uncle. The uncle, like Sonny, was a musician, but he was killed one night after being run over by some drunken white men. Parallels are drawn between both their father and uncle and Sonny. The narrator s mother makes this apparent when she tells him, I ain t telling you all this to make you scared or bitter or to make you hate nobody. I m telling you this because you got a brother. And the world ain t changed (41). • 44. Relationship Between The Old And New Testament Relationship between the Old and New Testament The relationship of the Old Testament and the New Testament has been the cause for a series of debates for many generations. In some cases, the Bible is believed to be just a random assortment of individual scrolls brought together in no precise fashion and for no particular reason, with the Old and New Testament being completely separated from one another, this is of course false. The Bible is, as a whole, the given Word of God brought together by a variety of human authors under the Divine Inspiration of the One True Divine Author, God Himself. Similarly, the Old Testament should not be neglected and replaced by the New Testament, as the New Testament is deeply rooted within the Old Testament and the Old Testament is brought into full manifestation, through Jesus Christ, within the New Testament. Therefore, the New Testament cannot exist without the Old Testament and the Old Testament cannot become fulfilled without the New Testament. Throughout the world, in many different religions, the Bible is used as a guide for life during our time on earth, however, some have taken it upon themselves to edit the Word of God and remove parts of scripture that they believe to be false or irrelevant. The Catholic Church understands that the Bible exists without error, because of God s intervention and inspiration during its development, and that we are to accept and become educated on all parts of the Bible in order to ... St. Michael is positioned perfectly upright with a majestic look as he is holding a sword away from his body horizontally with both hands. His body is covered with a golden body suit of armor except for his head, which is turned toward Joan and has a full halo behind it. Margaret and Catherine are both wearing white silky and flowing veils on their heads. There are white flowers in their hair, and both have golden circles over their heads as halos. Their dresses are also flowing and painted with light pink and blue. Margaret is positioned upright, her hands clasped by her chest, and her head to the side looking towards Joan, while Catherine is bent over with her head facing down and both hands over her face. Bastien Lepage showed his ability for capturing the naturalistic look of Joan, but he did not use this ability to its full extent with the saints. The colors used on the saints are not quite as vivid as with Joan. Michael s golden body armor and silver sword are not really shining at all, and all three halos seem to be placed there without any real signs of glowing.
