Canon Mega Pixel Presentatiom
Megapixel cameras were the dominant trend in IP cameras in the first half of 2009, according to industry sources. Megapixel cameras, which can provide high quality images up to 5MP, are ideal for environments like casinos, factories, and banks that require very detailed images. A poll at ISC West found that 58% of respondents believed megapixel cameras would have the biggest impact on video surveillance purchases in 2009. While megapixel cameras provide more detail than HDTV cameras, they also have disadvantages like reduced frames per second as megapixel levels increase and poorer low-light performance compared to 4CIF cameras.
