2. Gender
Here we have a pie chart of the percentage
of Men and Women who go to the cinemas
and pay to watch Thriller Films. Out of
100% , only 42% of Men watch Thrillers and
the other 58% are Women. In my opinion
the reason why there is a higher percentage
of women is because women tend to like
going to the cinemas more than men. They
go in groups of girls or with boyfriends.
Women also tend to use their spare time to
go out ,more than men. Another idea I
acknowledged is that in the cinema when
thriller or horror films “thrill” men they
have no one to comfort to. Some men would
feel uncomfortable cuddling to their boys.
So that suggest why girls go with girls and
men take girls.
3. Age
This Diagram/Chart shows the percentages of
different age groups that pay to watch specific
thriller films and other films in the cinema. The
results for Thriller films show that 26% of people
aged 50 and above watch thriller movies whereas 14
to 17 year olds only 16% of them watch thrillers. In
other terms this means older people watch thrillers
more than younger people in the cinemas. I'm
suggesting this is because older people have more
spare time that younger people. They’re busy and
more unavailable Younger people have school,
university and the working ages have jobs whereas
pensioners have so much time they can go and see
movies in the cinemas more than the younger
generation. Also seniors/ pensioners box office price
is less than younger generations some cinemas let
them in for free.
4. Ethnicity
This table is the ratings for Se7en (thriller film) from the IMDB
website. It shows that 98,604 American users voted Se7en 8.6/10 ,
whereas 243,753 Non American users from around the world
voted it 8.7/10. They're extremely close. However more non
Americans enjoy it more than Americans. Therefore this could
suggest that other cultures watch thrillers more than Americans. I
suggest this is because Americans are used or are bored of the
thriller genre because most thriller films are American and non
Americans enjoy watching American films more than the actual
Americans.
