AUDIENCE
RESPONSE
BY LOIS AND EMILY
WHAT WE NOTICED
After looking at the audiences feed back we
received positive feed back from our target
audience. And what we expected from our
secondary audience. Its clear to us that our
brand was successful for our target
audience, Rosie and Emma. And it was
clear to us that the boys Sam Jack and
Joey didn’t enjoy the adverts as much as
they did as they felt that they couldn’t
relate to the adverts.

1. DO YOU THINK THE MODELS WERE SUITABLE
By having two different models with different body styles and looks we
have then managed to target a wider range of people, also allowing
people to then relate to our brand as they can relate to models who are
the faces of the brand.

3. DO YOU THINK THE MUSIC FITTED IN WITH THE ADVERT
We tried to choose music in which everyone could enjoy by having simple hip –
hop, however not everyone enjoyed the music which we chose. This will then
mean that we needed to try and choose in more depth for music which more
people would be able to listen to while watching the adverts.

All three boys decided that the adverts didn’t make them want to purchase the
clothing. We feel that this was because it didn’t feature anything in which they
could relate to.

6. WAS THE MESSAGE OF THE BRAND CLEAR?
Because of this we should have found a way in which to make the message
clearer. Instead of just having ‘wear it your way’ at the end.
Q6 PART 2- IF NO HOW COULD WE HAVE FIXED THIS?
Jack- needed to be shown by the models
more
Joey- could say it in a voice over, models
shown it more.
We needed to make sure that we had the message in the brand
because we want to make sure that we could target a wider range
of people to watch out advert because we can suit a large amount
of people be we want them to wear it your way.
7. WHAT DID YOU LIKE
ABOUT THE ADVERT?
Rosie- they were fun and bright
Jack- lots of information
Joey- range of styles of clothing
Sam- interesting
Emma- fun I liked the different styles of
adverts.
Even though the boys were the target market for our brand the adverts
still kept them interesting and the different editing types allowed them to
be able to enjoy the advert still.
8. WHAT DIDN’T YOU LIKE
ABOUT THE ADVERT?
Rosie- I didn’t like the music
Jack- bit repetitive
Joey- didn’t enjoy the music
Sam- there were no clothes for men
Emma- nothing
The boys wanted to see clothes which were for them which would
allow them to be able to look at something which they would like
to buy. This is going with Marxists theory of the boys wanting to
distract themselves from their lives by wanting to buy clothes.

Do you think you were the target market for this advert?
Both Emma and Rosie correctly felt as though they were the target market for
the brand. This is because the adverts featured female clothing and models.
However, the adverts as suspected didn’t make the boys think that they were
the target market, again this was because of the same reasoning's as Rosie
and Emma but it had a different effect on them.
9. PART 2- WHY?
Rosie- showed my style of clothing
Jack- no male clothes shown, but if I were to buy clothes for
a girl then I would this website
Joey- no male influences
Sam- I am a male
Emma- show female models and girl clothes.
Rosie and Emma both have different styles and our adverts were
able to target both of them successfully. This has shown us that
we have created an advert which is then able to target a wider
range of people within our target market, and we have kept to our
brand message of people being able to wear it their way and
anyone being able to buy clothes from our brand.

IF YES WHAT WAS IT?
Jack- annoying music
Joey- too fast couldn’t hear what they were saying
Sam- bit quick
We found that because the boys weren't listening to the advert to
understand the information about the brand they noticed it more.
This is because they couldn’t connect to the characters of the
advert as they weren’t selling what they wanted.
6. IS THERE ANYTHING YOU
LIKED ABOUT THE ADVERT?
Rosie- I enjoyed the narrative of the advert
Jack- it was fun
Emma- it then had lots of information
Joey- I liked the narrative
Sam- lots of information
We wanted to be able to provide information to our audience
within a narrative type, we wanted our audience to be able to
relate to the narrative as this would then mean that they could
then understand the advert and then want to listen to it because it
would then answer their problems.

8. did you think you were the target market for this brand?
In the advert it states ‘it great for us uni students who cant fund out shopping
addiction’ this then directly targeted the age gap of 18-25 and because it then
had two females speaking it would then mean the girls understood it was for
the. This then shows us that the boys understood that the boys knew that this
brand isn't for them
WHY?
Sam- I am a boy
Rosie- it had girls talking in the advert
Jack- there weren’t any male speakers
Emma- there were clear female voices
Joey- no male voices
This then shows us that the girls know that they were the target
market, and the models we chose worked when targeting our
target market.

1. do you think this advert was suitable for the program gossip
girl?
Because we are a cheap brand we thought that people may disagree with us
sponsoring the show gossip girl. How ever we feature the same conventions as
gossip girl e.g. showing fashion, girls getting ready and interesting and cool
locations. The target market though that the advert was perfect of the show, this
is because they are the same target market for the show as they are 18-25
females.

2. do you think enough outfits were shown?
As it was a sponsorship sequence it then meant that we had to keep it short
and weren't able to feature many outfits in it. This then meant that it left out
audience wanting to see more allowing us to know that this would then
result in them following up and looking online at the brand.
2 PART 2. IF NO HOW MANY
SHOULD HAVE BEEN INVOLVED?
Joey- I wanted more than because I would like to see the
whole range of clothing if I were to buy anything from this
brand.
Rosie- I wanted to see around 4 outfits so I can see different
styles or see how I could style one item with lots of different
things.
The audience wanted to see more which would then mean that
they would then lead onto the website to see more. This has
shown that we have successfully gotten the audience interested in
our brand and left them wanting to see more.
3. WHAT DID YOU LIKE
ABOUT THE ADVERT?
Rosie- I liked the bit when they came out the wardrobe as it looked cool.
Sam- I though the advert was fun and bright and I liked the flashing of
the lights.
Joey- I liked the different shot types they had.
Jack- I like the bit when they came out of the room, it was interesting
Emma- I liked the wardrobe bit it was different.
Rosie calling our brand ‘cool’ shows that she understands the image we are
going for. Same enjoyed the flashing lights and the colours. These allowed
for him to be entertained as he isn't part of our target market as this is an
advert for girls clothes. Joey again was entertain by the editing we had the
camera shots, allowing him still to enjoy the advert even though its not for
him. Jack and Emma both enjoyed the bit when the two models came out of
the wardrobe. This then showed the both the target market and the
secondary audience enjoyed the advert and were interested in the shots and
what was happening in the advert.
4. WHAT DIDN’T YOU LIKE
ABOUT THE ADVERT?
Rosie- the lighting
Sam- no narrative
Joey- the wardrobe bit was too quick
Jack- don’t understand the narrative wasn’t very interesting to watch.
Emma- lighting.
Both Emma and Rosie commented on the lighting of the advert. We struggled
with the lighting of the sponsorship advert as we felt that we made the room
look too dull and grey. This was a down fall of the advert, the boys Sam and
Jack didn’t understand the narrative of the advert and felt that it was too
simple. We needed to make sure that we didn’t make the audience think that
the advert was linked with the program Gossip Girl. And Joey felt as though
the bit when the girls were walking out of the wardrobe was too quick for him
and he couldn’t concentrate on what the girls were wearing. This shot is one
of the key shots and it shows the dresses in full length meaning that we
probably should have slowed this down to allow the audience to be able to
see the dresses in full.

Emma-… nothing
Rosie wanted more outfits to be shown again telling us that
she wanted to see more of our brand allowing us to know
that our target market liked our clothes and would look on
further to learn more. Sam wanted a better narrative, we feel
that because of the narrative chosen the boys wouldn’t be
bale to link in with it meaning that they wouldn’t understand
it.
7. WHAT DID YOU THINK ABOUT
THE LIGHTING OF THE ADVERT
Sam- I liked the lighting
Joey- I liked the lighting
Jack- it was bright
Rosie- I thought it was a bit dull
Emma- I thought the lighting was dull and grey.
We struggled while filming the advert because we couldn’t get the
lighting right and we though it was a bit dull. We knew this would
be the feed back we got from our audience members as we ha
struggled to make this look less grey.
