This chapter discusses attitudes and job satisfaction. It defines attitudes as evaluations of people, objects, or events. Attitudes have three components: cognitive, affective, and behavioral. The chapter also discusses cognitive dissonance theory and explains job satisfaction as positive or negative feelings toward one's job. High job satisfaction is associated with higher productivity, lower absenteeism, and lower turnover.
