Movie Critique On The Industrial Organizational Psychology...
Movie Critique on the Industrial Organizational Psychology present in Antz
Introduction
The 1998 film Antz is an excellent depiction of the industrial and organizational work force. Being
that the film is a Dream Works animation, it has a simple and attention grabbing plot that is given to
the viewer through the perspective of a hero, and in this context an colony ant worker named Z
(Darnell et al., 1998). This peculiar, open minded ant portrayed several topics related to industrial
organizational psychology such as leadership, occupational stress, and job satisfaction. In addition to
the prevalent presence of industrial psychology that can be seen in the main character, other characters
and details of the plot are representative of industrial psychology as well. Elements such as
organizational commitment and employee selection are intriguingly exemplified through this
moralistic story of ants (Darnell et al., 1998).
In the film Antz, the once miserable and dissatisfied protagonist finds bliss and hope in the colony
princess, Princess Bala at a worker s bar. Z leaves the work colony for a day to pursue his newfound
love interest by pretending to be a soldier for a day. Unfortunately and unexpectedly, Z is sent into
battle during his quest to re connect with Princess Bala (Darnell et al., 1998). However, he turns out to
be the only soldier to survive the battle. This results in him seeing the princess again, insulting the

Why The 1930-1940 s Was The Greatest Generation
Some might say that the 1930 s and 1940 s was the greatest generation. The 1930 s started with the
Great Depression the greatest economic disaster in modern history. This generation had to deal with
great sacrifice. The stock market crashed and people were forced out of their homes, lost businesses,
lost their jobs, and had no help from the government. People that had left the farmlands to move to the
cities for employment found themselves returning to the farm to feed their families. People that were
forced to leave their homes moved into parks and abandoned lands to set up what was called
Hooverville s (Foner 2014). The bank s collapse was not the only reason for the great depression the
country lost over 26,000 businesses and those businesses that were left had to lay off workers. With all
of these people out of work no one was spending, so the lost revenue just continued to reduce the need
for companies to produce products. People blamed themselves and then the government. President
Herbert Hoover s response was uncaring and not adequate to support the American people. President
Hoover s advisers said that there was no need for the federal ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The government stepped in and bailed out the banks for making poor decision and providing home
loans to individuals who could not afford those loans. The government also bailed out large vehicle
business like Ford and Chrysler that would not change their business modern to keep up with foreign
vehicle companies that could produce low efficiency vehicle at a lower price. America had outsourced
most of the manufacturing jobs and we no longer had the ability to fully employ our own workforce.
Businesses could operate in foreign counties and make a profit. The hard working American workers
were pushed aside, because the company could make more profit by operating overseas and utilizing

Electronic Dance Music
Electronic Dance Music
Electronic Dance Music has now reached it s high in the public all over the world. This genre of music
was created and reformed from past generations of music and its history goes all the way back to the
mid to late 70 s. What is common throughout Electronic Dance Music s history is its usage of drugs
between the attendee s at these concerts, shows, festivals, or raves. Now that Electronic Music is
becoming the most popular genre for young adults and teens to listen to, the public cant help but be
aware of what chaos it could possibly bring. The only way to prevent such disasters of over doses and
deaths is to educate the Electronic Dance Music lovers on what could potentially happen to this
culture if a change ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It s a mindset of acceptance of anyone and everything. It s a world without judgment that you cant
understand until you ve experienced it yourself (Benanti). The problem is, with this music also comes
the drugs. A study was done on the drug use and nightlife by a group of people. They explore and
study all different types of music and their ties to drugs. They surveyed 775 visitors of dance events,
clubs, and rock festivals in Belgium (Tina Van Havere). Their results found that the respondents who
used illegal drugs were 25 times more likely to report that they prefer dance music to any other genre
(Tina Van Havere). Drugs and music have been related to each other since they both first emerged, the
only problem now is that the scene is at a much larger scale and that it s kids who are doing it. There
have been many cases of deaths and overdoses in the past 5 years at these Electronic Music shows
which is creating a lot of discussion in the media and the public about the safety risks of the people
attending these shows. The people within this culture who are working behind the scenes are
concerned of the future of EDM. A lighting and sound technician Keenan Kan explains, For the people
involved in the industry, we re concerned. We have seen it happen before. Similar situations happened
when the music was popular in the 90s, and of course Gainesville and other communities acted on it

Summary Of Democracy Abroad, Lynching At Home
In Democracy Abroad, Lynching at Home , author Tameka Hobbs examines the history of racial
violence and lynchings in Florida, she focused especially on a string of ruthless lynchings that
occurred during the 1940s. She argues that these lynchings created difficult diplomatic moments
during both World War II and the Cold War period and that they forced the U.S. government to
become more active in prosecuting racial violence. While reading this book it is very hard to not get
upset. Although the stories of slavery and lynching are nothing new to the public it is just unbelievable
that such events could go on and are still happening to this day. Hobbs explores the reasons why
lynching continued in Florida when they were starting to wane elsewhere.

Analysis Of Elephant In The Village Of The Blind
The Prodigal Son , The Boy who Cried Wolf , or The Mouse and the Lion are all stories that are
commonly well known, however few people recognize them as parables. The parable is a figure of
speech characterized by a short narrative, in prose or verse, full of symbols, allegory, and analogy to
convey a moral or religious message. The word parable comes from the Greek language and means
comparison, illustration, analogy . The two thousand years old Buddhist story The Elephant in the
Village of the Blind portraying simple story, demonstrating universal moral, and using symbols and
analogy is the evident representative of the parable. To start with, the narrative in The Elephant in the
Village of the Blind is very simple; the main ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Elephant in the Village of the Blind shows us that in life, we frequently attempt to comprehend
the world around us by the way we see it. Nevertheless, our understanding is limited by our
experiences, knowledge, beliefs, moral systems, education, opinions, influence of others, etc. In this
sense, we are metaphorically blind , as are the villagers. For this reason, some people in the story saw
the animal as a fringed rope (line 13) and others as a cool, smooth stuff (line 14), which is clear
juxtaposition. Moreover, when we are not familiar with something we are trying to define it, before
fully understanding it. The clear moral of this parable is that we rarely see the things as they are, we
see the things as we are. Additionally, using analogy and many symbols, parable contrasts human
behavior in the story and human behavior in the larger perspective. Parable is often identified with
fable, but whereas parable uses people as main characters, fable uses animals personifications. In the
discussed story, the main character is the elephant. As noted, the animal is in the center of the
narration, but the elephant doesn t personify human beings. The author(s) chose the elephant in this
story, because it s exotic, huge, and unlike all other animals. The elephant in this parable is the symbol
of unknown. We often face against elephants in our lives. The challenge, as mentioned in the earlier
paragraph, is not to judge the

Shakespeare s The Taming Of The Farew And The Taming Of...
ENGLISH
The Taming of the Shrew , is one of William Shakespeare s most celebrated works in history and is
known to be one of his most comedic pieces of literature. With its lighthearted sense of a late 1500 s
Elizabethan era work, the famous play showed many relevant ideologies of society according to its
particular era in history. Many of Shakespeare s works have been adapted into successful films that
were made to suit the society of a new and different age, for example, his piece The Taming of the
Shrew , has been formed into several films and short films. In my opinion, it just shows that
Shakespeare s writings are still relevant today and forever will be timeless.
The most famous remakes of the of the 1500 s play, were Gil Junger s 1999 adaptation 10 Things I
Hate About You , and Franco Zeffirelli s 1967 version of The Taming of the Shrew . Both films show
elements of similar society ideologies, such as masculinity and femininity which are portrayed
through the main characters; Katherine, Kat, Petruchio and Patrick. Some characters show signs of
severe misogynistic characteristics, for example, as the dominant Petruchio tames the dominant
Katherine until she is submissive. To help corroborate with this is the quote For I am be born to tame
you Kate, And bring you from a wild Kate to a Kate. Conformable as other household Kates. This
quote proves that he believes Katherine should be like other females and that he wants to control her

New And Alternative Sources Of Energy
Today s society uses enormous amounts of energy. *The shadow of our presence on this planet is a
result of generations upon generations of production and utilization of energy*. New and alternative
sources of energy are being developed to replace the declining accessibility of coal and fossil fuels.
Use of renewable energy is a key component in combatting the climate change that has become a
major issue in the 21st century. Reducing our impact on the climate as a result of greenhouse gas
emissions will not only benefit our generation, but countless generations after us. This technology is
not only affordable, but is within reach. With the ever increasing population of 255 global births per
minute ( How Many Babies... ) the demand for energy grows substantially each day. There are many
different sources of energy that are naturally available throughout the world in different forms. This
energy can be categorized into two main sources: 1) renewable and 2) non renewable sources. Energy
sources are considered non renewable if they cannot be replenished or made again in a short period of
time. Non renewable sources come out of the ground as liquids, gases and solids ( Nonrenewable ).
Non renewable sources are limited, not environmentally friendly when being extracted from the
ground or when being used. They can also be a direct cause of inflation in the economy due to
increases and decreases in production. Renewable sources are generated from natural resources that

objective to achieve a business or organization s goals, such as increasing sales volume, brand

pylori associated gastric pathology.
Introduction
Helicobacter pylori is an important human pathogen that chronically infects the gastric and duodenal
mucosa (1). It affects approximately 50% of the population worldwide, and is associated with multiple
gastric pathologies, including gastritis, peptic ulcer disease (PUD), gastric cancer (GC) and mucosa
associated lymphoid tissue (MALT) lymphoma (2). While the majority of individuals infected with H.
pylori are asymptomatic, essentially all develop chronic inflammation (3). Among infected
individuals, approximately 10% develop PUD, 1 3% progresses to GC and 0.1% develop MALT
lymphoma (3). Clinical outcomes of long term infection vary, as disease severity is thought to be
related to a combination of host genetics, environmental factors, and genetic heterogeneity of H.
pylori (2). Helicobacter pylori exhibits a much greater genetic diversity than most bacteria, and this is
often attributed to the differences in prevalence and expression of bacterial virulence factors that may
impact the outcome of gastric disease (4). Several virulence genes related to the risk of gastric disease
have been identified, including cagA, cagE, vacA, iceA, and babA2 (2). A large number of studies
have shown that VacA producing H. pylori strains are related to more severe clinical outcomes,
although the genetic mechanism(s) underlying this observed associations is not yet

What Was The Importance Of Segmentation In Teaching A Hustle
The hustle should be taught through segmentation. Segmentation would be an effective form of
teaching and an effective learning experience because it involves practicing the complex skill of
performing the hustle in a more simplified form through part practice. Segmentation is a type of part
practice and it involves learning one part of a skill until it is learned and then adding the next part, and
so on, followed by practicing the parts together until they are learned. This would be beneficial when
teaching the hustle becauses the hustle requires many steps and each step or sequence can not be

and it would be added to all of the previous steps. Next, the performers would learn how to point up
toward the ceiling and then down to the ground. This part of the dance would be practiced and then
combined with all previous parts until it is learned. After pointing, they would learn how to roll their

Lastly, the dance would be completed when the participants learn how to turn around themselves by

together so that the dance can be completed fully without

Investigate and find the relationship between heat loss...
To investigate the relationship between surface area : volume ratio and heat loss.
INTRODUCTION:
The aim of this experiment is to investigate and find the relationship between heat loss (of water) and
surface area to volume ratio of animals. To investigate this, we are going to use three flasks of
different volume (as the equivalent the animals) and thus different surface areas filled with water.
BACKGROUND:
Surface Area : Volume Ratios
We will be using the following formula for calculating SA:Vol ratios:
SA : Vol
Vol : Vol
100ml flask = 115 : 100 = 1.15 : 1
100 : 100
250ml flask = 230 : 250 = 0.92 : 1
250 : 250
500ml flask = 330 : 500 = 0.66:1
500 : 500
The factors effecting heat loss:
1.Energy Levels
2.Climate / air ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The second and third experiment was also accurate, however the line of best fit does not go through all
the points, in the evaluation section I can explain why this could be.
On the graphs I have plotted the basic formula of a linear line of y = mx + c. As we can see the
gradient for the 100ml flask at 0.97 was fractionally (0.01 out) more than double that of the 500ml
flask at 0.48 which proves to us the prediction was correct. So as a statement we can say: Heat loss
occurs at twice the speed for the 100ml flask than the 500ml flask due to the fact that the gradient of
the line of best fit for the 100ml flask is double that of the 500ml flask. Also we can see that the 250ml
flask lost it s waters heat at somewhere between that of the 100ml and 500ml flask, proving my
prediction correct.
From the results I can say that, SA to volume ratio does affect the rate of heat loss.
Evaluation of Results:
I thought that most of my results were very accurate. However there were a number of points out of
place that I could improve on. On the 250ml experiment the reading between six and eight minutes
appeared to be incorrect compared with the average heat loss in the same experiment. This could have

believes Islam teaches excellence in character and to carry a spiritual relationship with God in
everyday actions. Muslims practice their faith in a different way then I m accustomed too, for instance
I was raised that practicing my faith was going to church once a week. Followers of Islam practice
their faith in different ways says Jack. Jack practices his faith every day, there are five daily prayers,
fasting during daylight hours in the month of Ramadan, and the pilgrimage to Mecca once in a
lifetime, Jack has not made his pilgrimage yet but looks forward to it. I delved into further detail about
the daily prayers with Jack, asking him the length of each prayer. Jack says on average each daily
prayer last between 5 10 minutes, depending on the prescribed length of the prayer and number of
verses. Each of the five prayers has a window of time to be completed in, ranging from one hour to
four hour long windows according to Jack. I asked Jack as well about holidays we celebrate related to
our religion. Being a Christian I know that we celebrate Christmas as part of

Nike Supplier Relationship
Forecasting in the fashion industry is usually a complicated due to the fact that it s characterized by
high demand, short product life cycles and different varieties of product lines. Consequently,
managing customer demand tends to be difficult, for organizations have to avoid large volumes of
stock. In this industry, there s intense competition and consumers are price conscious; accordingly,
these factors have slowed the growth of this industry. As a result, this made it difficult for the
companies to create brands which can offer high quality products with cheap prices (Fernino et al.,
2012). Nike is one of the most popular brands throughout the whole world and the world s leading

Pros And Cons Of Sisterhood
Sisters by Heart We may not be sisters by birth, but we ve known from the start that God brought us
together to be sisters by heart! Unknown. Being an only child, I grew up without the blood related
sisterhood bond. I have learned through the years that you do not have to have a biological sister in
order to know the joys of sisterhood. The true meaning of sisterhood is a feeling of kinship and
closeness to a group of women, biological or not. That close bond is the gift of sisterhood. Growing up
I was an only child, I never knew the joys and sorrows of sisterhood. There were many pros and cons
to being an only child. When you are an only child you do not have to share with siblings. While

spoiled, lonely or bossy. Although, these traits can be found in any human being, I do not think that it
is necessarily a trait for all only children. Only children can be judged negatively when these
assumptions are made. In today s society, it seems that more and more families are having only one
child. More children are experiencing not having blood sisters and must find this bond in other

Fireweed
War is one of the most feared things in world. The fear of losing someone who is close to you is
unbearable. The short story Fireweed , by Skye Brannon, deals with problems of being an immi grant
in America and the difficulties with forgetting your past. Baluta and his family are immigrants from
Liberia who are having a hard time integrating with their traditions, language and values. The reason
for their immigration is shown on (page 3, line 95) The war will be coming soon.. As Baluta s father,

Compare and Contrast Gibson’s and Gregory’s theories of...
Compare and Contrast Gibson s and Gregory s theories of perception Gibson s and Gregory s theories
of perception both suggest that eye retina is important for perception. The both believe that without
eye retina, a person will not be able to see. This is a common view of both of the theories of
perception. The idea is supported by the case of SB. SB was a man who had been blind from birth due
to cataracts. When he was 52, he had an operation which restored his sight and hence he could see.
Thus, this case has shown the importance of eye retina for things to be perceived. And therefore,
supports both of theories of perception which eye retina is essential for perception.
Gibson believes in the direct theories of perception which ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It may be that a genetic predisposition to perception exists, but that situational factors also have to be
in place for it to develop.
Apart from the above, there are a few more differences between Gibson s and Gregory s theories of
perception. Gregory believes that additional processing is required for perception which some forms
of background knowledge is needed to make sense of the environment than just the sensory input
while Gibson believes that perception is part of an inbuilt adaptive mechanism for survival which does
not rely on stored knowledge or past experience.
Gregory believes that expectations have an impact on perceptions which Gibson disagrees. There is
empirical evidence supporting the idea of Gregory, and this comes from a study carried out by Simons
and Levin. 50% of the participants failed to realise that there was a switch of people. This is probably
due to the fact that the participants had not expected a change of person. Hence, they were unable to
perceive it. Furthermore, a study carried out by Selfridge also supports the idea of Gregory. Selfridge s
study demonstrates that our perceptions are mediated by our expectations as people are able to read
the figures as the cat . This is because people have the expectations of the cat as they are words in
common usage. These studies have shown that people saw what they have been

Examples Of Unfaithful In Othello
Three Unlawful Acts of Love The play Othello by William Shakespeare consists of manipulation and
tragedy, a story of love that ends in demise. Othello, a great general, finds himself at odds with the
notion that his beloved wife has been unfaithful, while Desdemona is completely innocent. He loves
her so much that the idea of her adultery drives him to murder. The ensign to the general, Iago, is
behind the rumors and the turmoil. He manipulates the trust between Othello and those who are
closest to him, even so far as suggesting the method irate Othello uses to kill his wife. However,
despite Iago being the ringleader behind the conflict and crime, Othello would be charged guilty for
first degree murder, criminal conspiracy, and tampering with a witness in a court of law. Iago would
be cleared of any homicide accusations, most likely getting a minimal charge compared to Othello.
Othello committed first degree murder by killing Desdemona. First degree murder is any unlawful
killing done with intent and premeditation, of which Othello is guilty of both. When presented with
Iago s false suspicions of cuckolding, Othello almost instantly writes off his wife as guilty. Iago plants
suspicions into his mind until Othello decides he would rather kill her than deal with a reality where
she was unfaithful. When he plans to strangle instead of poison her is the first step to first degree
murder, as there is aforethought behind the deed. It is notable that Iago did not suggest

Personal Narrative On Dr Jekyll And Mr Hyde
I admit it. I had become smitten with my esteemed and beloved physics professor who made the
mechanics of matter and energy astoundingly simple and beautiful. As the hours I had spent with him.
Yet, my heart remained wary. He would never be fully available to me. Since, from all appearances, he
and his wife were content.
Meanwhile, Mark and I had grown further apart. His demanding academic curriculum put stress on
him. So, to lessen his anxiety, he smoked marijuana daily. However, to stay alert for class, he drank
cups of coffee, as well. The combination caused his temperament to fluctuate between being spaced
out vs. extreme agitation. He d quarrel with his professors when they refused to let him pass in

that I stay put and make an effort to network. All true, he said. But you deserve a break. When you

you.
With that, I decided. How can I refuse a man who remembered my birthday? And who has a plan, and
the desire to make me happy? Even so, I wondered had he become a New Age guru and abandoned his
teaching position at the university. Besides, what about his wife, would she welcome me, as well.
Also, the city of Berkeley was loaded with memories drenched with drama. Through the years, I had
buried them deep inside my psyche. It s true that every street, restaurant, café or night spot would be a
roadmap to dislodge them.
Even so, I was willing to throw caution to the wind. Since Malcolm and I had been more than friends.
Once, we were two people in love, though, not solely with each other. It was complicated. Still, I
wanted to revisit him again. And, to leave behind L.A. the city where the dreams I dreamed as a
younger woman had dissipated into the hot ethers of the Santa Ana winds perhaps never to return
again. Okay, I replied. I can t

The Impact Of Television On American Society
The invention of television has impacted American society positively, because it helps spread
information faster and influences the way people think about important social issues. It is estimated
that about 15 million Americans watch the Cable News Network, CNN, at least once a day and
millions more tune in abroad (Stark). In the news culture, information has become presented to the
public quicker throughout the years. This causes news to be digested faster as well. In fact, events,
such as election results or political choices, have become frequently analyzed before they even take
place. For example, the effects of Clinton s bombing of Iraq, in the summer of 1996, were being
explored before a weapon had even been fired (Stark). The spread ... Show more content on

When television was first developed, entertainment was not one of the main priorities. Throughout the
years, however, people began to sit and watch television just for that reason. Soon came the
development of special programs, sitcoms, and even reality television which served as entertainment
purposes. Throughout the years, entertainment on television has become much more popular. It has
become an important part of our entertainment today. The average amount of hours per day that
television is on in an average U.S. home is six hours and forty seven minutes (Herr). In those six
hours, there are a variety of shows that can be seen, just for entertainment purposes. Sumner Redstone,
president and CEO of the major media company Viacom, quotes, I am very skeptical of this talk of
500 channels. I just don t know what s going to play on them ( 1920 s 1960 s Television ). Nowadays,
however, it is extremely common to scroll through television channels and always end up finding
something interesting. Not only is there a large variety of shows that Americans can now watch, it is
more convenient than driving to movies, concerts, sporting events, and plays and it is cheaper as well.
With modern day television people do not have to get dressed up and drive to see what they could be
watching on their own TV sets at home. This is why television companies have adapted to meet the
needs of the American people by supplying access to all of these events. This past summer television
again proved its convenience for entertainment, as many Americans were able to sit back and watch
the Olympics in their own homes while still being able to get the feel of what is it like there.
Television also brings communities together. Many neighborhood block parties revolve around
watching the latest episode of a show. When the super bowl comes around, there are parties

The Importance Of Racial Differences
1. How and when did you became aware of racial difference, what was the context of that realization,
ang what transitions you have gone through since your early recognition of racial differences.
Most part of my life was spend in Cameroon ( Africa). Racial differences was never an issues. We
never talk about race differences, but tribal differences. While some tribes claim to be the dominant
tribe others feel they are being marginalized due systemic corruption. For instance the government
influential persons like, the Governors, minister, divisional officers etc. would employed and pass out
opportunities only to people from their tribes. If by chance or some reason one happens to be
employed in that department, one is likely to experience the tribal differences.
However, as an African, at the age of 12, we learned about slave trades; Particularly which tribe was
responsible for capturing other tribe members, what techniques they used, how they were categorized,
how much they were worth but interestingly, how they were transported and treated at their
destination. Although there was relieved to know that, slave trade has been abolished but the incident
still stigmatized us and elevated our anger towards the betraying tribes. Before coming to America, I
know that African American are called niggers , a racial slur used derogatorily towards people of
color.
Learning about slave trade at the age 12, was when I became aware of racial differences, Although it
has been difficult to grasp the understanding or to put into perspective how white people the slave
master were treating slaves particularly Africans, but there is more anger towards the betraying tribes,
who were the dominant and privileged tribe at that time. Coming from an egalitarian point of view
slave trade was sinful and odious but most disgusting are those who sold their own people, knowing
fully well what their fate would be and for something insignificant. Some of the things that the were
use during trade by barter was pathetic; human beings were exchange for clothes, ammunition,
furniture etc.
However, even with the anger towards the betraying tribes, good came out of their action, for instance,
most African America have a better life

Expectancy Theory
Theories of Motivation: Vroom s Valence Expectancy Theory
If you were a manager, wouldn t you like to know how your employees decide to work hard or goof
off? Wouldn t it be nice to know whether a planned rewards program will have the desired effect
namely, motivating them to perform better in their jobs? Wouldn t it be helpful if you could measure
the effect of bonuses on employee productivity?
These are the issues considered by psychologist Victor Vroom in his expectancy theory, which
proposes that employees will work hard to earn rewards that they value and that they consider
obtainable.
There are three variables of Vroom s model given in the form of an equation. Since the mode is
multiplicative, all the three variables must ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
(iv) Weak empirical support: the empirical support for the Vroom model is insignificant and lacks
consistency.
The merits of Vroom theory are:
(i) Basic framework: the Vroom s model provides a basic framework for interpreting work motivation
as Keith Davis put it.
According to Fred Luthans, the expectancy model is like marginal analysis in economics. The
expectancy model attempts to mirror the complex motivational process. From the theoretical
standpoint it seems to be a step in the right direction. It is of value in understanding organisational
behaviour.
(ii) Appreciation of individual differences: for the first time in a systematic way it draws attention to
individual differences in motivation.
As Koontz, O. Donnell and Weihrich pointed out: one of the great attractions of the Vroom model is
that it recognizes the importance of various individual needs and motivations. It does seem more
realistic .
(iii) Clue to harmonization of individual and organisation goals: it clarifies the relationship between
individual goals and organisational objectives and thus points to the way how the two can be
harmonized.
It is thus a step further from management by objectives. Instead of assuming that satisfaction of a
specific need is likely to influence organisational objectives in a certain way we can find out how
important to the employee are:

Case Study Of Ethical Dilemmas In Public Hospitals
4. Ethical dilemmas in Public Hospitals in Thailand
Most organizations face ethical dilemmas that are situations in which there is a choice to be made
between two options, neither of which resolves the situation in an ethically acceptable manner. In
some cases, societal and personal ethical guidelines can provide dissatisfactory outcome for the
chooser. Ethical dilemmas consider that the chooser will abide by societal norms, such as codes of law
or policies given, in order to make the choice ethically impossible.
4.1. Case Study 1: Legalization of Abortion Pills in Thailand
According to the Thai law, abortions are illegal in Thailand, except for the girls under the age of 15 or
with a serious illness, and when the pregnancy threatens the woman s health or results from rape or
incest. Actually, the abortion law is rarely enforced, and illegal abortions remain common and an
important public health issue for women in Thailand. There is evidence of wide public support led by
women s groups, some medical and legal professionals for reforming of abortion laws to widen the
circumstances under which an abortion is legal.

  • 2. Movie Critique On The Industrial Organizational Psychology... Movie Critique on the Industrial Organizational Psychology present in Antz Introduction The 1998 film Antz is an excellent depiction of the industrial and organizational work force. Being that the film is a Dream Works animation, it has a simple and attention grabbing plot that is given to the viewer through the perspective of a hero, and in this context an colony ant worker named Z (Darnell et al., 1998). This peculiar, open minded ant portrayed several topics related to industrial organizational psychology such as leadership, occupational stress, and job satisfaction. In addition to the prevalent presence of industrial psychology that can be seen in the main character, other characters and details of the plot are representative of industrial psychology as well. Elements such as organizational commitment and employee selection are intriguingly exemplified through this moralistic story of ants (Darnell et al., 1998). In the film Antz, the once miserable and dissatisfied protagonist finds bliss and hope in the colony princess, Princess Bala at a worker s bar. Z leaves the work colony for a day to pursue his newfound love interest by pretending to be a soldier for a day. Unfortunately and unexpectedly, Z is sent into battle during his quest to re connect with Princess Bala (Darnell et al., 1998). However, he turns out to be the only soldier to survive the battle. This results in him seeing the princess again, insulting the General, kidnapping Princess ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The 1930 s started with the Great Depression the greatest economic disaster in modern history. This generation had to deal with great sacrifice. The stock market crashed and people were forced out of their homes, lost businesses, lost their jobs, and had no help from the government. People that had left the farmlands to move to the cities for employment found themselves returning to the farm to feed their families. People that were forced to leave their homes moved into parks and abandoned lands to set up what was called Hooverville s (Foner 2014). The bank s collapse was not the only reason for the great depression the country lost over 26,000 businesses and those businesses that were left had to lay off workers. With all of these people out of work no one was spending, so the lost revenue just continued to reduce the need for companies to produce products. People blamed themselves and then the government. This genre of music was created and reformed from past generations of music and its history goes all the way back to the mid to late 70 s. What is common throughout Electronic Dance Music s history is its usage of drugs between the attendee s at these concerts, shows, festivals, or raves. Now that Electronic Music is becoming the most popular genre for young adults and teens to listen to, the public cant help but be aware of what chaos it could possibly bring. The problem is, with this music also comes the drugs. A study was done on the drug use and nightlife by a group of people. They explore and study all different types of music and their ties to drugs. They surveyed 775 visitors of dance events, clubs, and rock festivals in Belgium (Tina Van Havere). Their results found that the respondents who used illegal drugs were 25 times more likely to report that they prefer dance music to any other genre (Tina Van Havere). Drugs and music have been related to each other since they both first emerged, the only problem now is that the scene is at a much larger scale and that it s kids who are doing it. There have been many cases of deaths and overdoses in the past 5 years at these Electronic Music shows which is creating a lot of discussion in the media and the public about the safety risks of the people attending these shows. Summary Of Democracy Abroad, Lynching At Home In Democracy Abroad, Lynching at Home , author Tameka Hobbs examines the history of racial violence and lynchings in Florida, she focused especially on a string of ruthless lynchings that occurred during the 1940s. She argues that these lynchings created difficult diplomatic moments during both World War II and the Cold War period and that they forced the U.S. government to become more active in prosecuting racial violence. While reading this book it is very hard to not get upset. Although the stories of slavery and lynching are nothing new to the public it is just unbelievable that such events could go on and are still happening to this day. • 11. Analysis Of Elephant In The Village Of The Blind The Prodigal Son , The Boy who Cried Wolf , or The Mouse and the Lion are all stories that are commonly well known, however few people recognize them as parables. The parable is a figure of speech characterized by a short narrative, in prose or verse, full of symbols, allegory, and analogy to convey a moral or religious message. The word parable comes from the Greek language and means comparison, illustration, analogy . The two thousand years old Buddhist story The Elephant in the Village of the Blind portraying simple story, demonstrating universal moral, and using symbols and analogy is the evident representative of the parable. To start with, the narrative in The Elephant in the Village of the Blind is very simple; the main ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Elephant in the Village of the Blind shows us that in life, we frequently attempt to comprehend the world around us by the way we see it. Nevertheless, our understanding is limited by our experiences, knowledge, beliefs, moral systems, education, opinions, influence of others, etc. In this sense, we are metaphorically blind , as are the villagers. For this reason, some people in the story saw the animal as a fringed rope (line 13) and others as a cool, smooth stuff (line 14), which is clear juxtaposition. Moreover, when we are not familiar with something we are trying to define it, before fully understanding it. The clear moral of this parable is that we rarely see the things as they are, we see the things as we are. Additionally, using analogy and many symbols, parable contrasts human behavior in the story and human behavior in the larger perspective. Parable is often identified with fable, but whereas parable uses people as main characters, fable uses animals personifications. In the discussed story, the main character is the elephant. As noted, the animal is in the center of the narration, but the elephant doesn t personify human beings. The author(s) chose the elephant in this story, because it s exotic, huge, and unlike all other animals. The elephant in this parable is the symbol of unknown. We often face against elephants in our lives. The challenge, as mentioned in the earlier paragraph, is not to judge the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 12. Shakespeare s The Taming Of The Farew And The Taming Of... ENGLISH The Taming of the Shrew , is one of William Shakespeare s most celebrated works in history and is known to be one of his most comedic pieces of literature. With its lighthearted sense of a late 1500 s Elizabethan era work, the famous play showed many relevant ideologies of society according to its particular era in history. Many of Shakespeare s works have been adapted into successful films that were made to suit the society of a new and different age, for example, his piece The Taming of the Shrew , has been formed into several films and short films. In my opinion, it just shows that Shakespeare s writings are still relevant today and forever will be timeless. The most famous remakes of the of the 1500 s play, were Gil Junger s 1999 adaptation 10 Things I Hate About You , and Franco Zeffirelli s 1967 version of The Taming of the Shrew . Both films show elements of similar society ideologies, such as masculinity and femininity which are portrayed through the main characters; Katherine, Kat, Petruchio and Patrick. Some characters show signs of severe misogynistic characteristics, for example, as the dominant Petruchio tames the dominant Katherine until she is submissive. To help corroborate with this is the quote For I am be born to tame you Kate, And bring you from a wild Kate to a Kate. Conformable as other household Kates. New And Alternative Sources Of Energy Today s society uses enormous amounts of energy. *The shadow of our presence on this planet is a result of generations upon generations of production and utilization of energy*. New and alternative sources of energy are being developed to replace the declining accessibility of coal and fossil fuels. Use of renewable energy is a key component in combatting the climate change that has become a major issue in the 21st century. Reducing our impact on the climate as a result of greenhouse gas emissions will not only benefit our generation, but countless generations after us. This technology is not only affordable, but is within reach. With the ever increasing population of 255 global births per minute ( How Many Babies... ) the demand for energy grows substantially each day. There are many different sources of energy that are naturally available throughout the world in different forms. This energy can be categorized into two main sources: 1) renewable and 2) non renewable sources. Energy sources are considered non renewable if they cannot be replenished or made again in a short period of time. Non renewable sources come out of the ground as liquids, gases and solids ( Nonrenewable ). Non renewable sources are limited, not environmentally friendly when being extracted from the ground or when being used. They can also be a direct cause of inflation in the economy due to increases and decreases in production. Renewable sources are generated from natural resources that ... Pepsi s Brand positioning has finally always been as a refreshing cola drink for the youth, ubiquitous on just about every social occasion. Introduction Helicobacter pylori is an important human pathogen that chronically infects the gastric and duodenal mucosa (1). It affects approximately 50% of the population worldwide, and is associated with multiple gastric pathologies, including gastritis, peptic ulcer disease (PUD), gastric cancer (GC) and mucosa associated lymphoid tissue (MALT) lymphoma (2). While the majority of individuals infected with H. pylori are asymptomatic, essentially all develop chronic inflammation (3). Among infected individuals, approximately 10% develop PUD, 1 3% progresses to GC and 0.1% develop MALT lymphoma (3). Clinical outcomes of long term infection vary, as disease severity is thought to be related to a combination of host genetics, environmental factors, and genetic heterogeneity of H. pylori (2). Helicobacter pylori exhibits a much greater genetic diversity than most bacteria, and this is often attributed to the differences in prevalence and expression of bacterial virulence factors that may impact the outcome of gastric disease (4). Several virulence genes related to the risk of gastric disease have been identified, including cagA, cagE, vacA, iceA, and babA2 (2). A large number of studies have shown that VacA producing H. pylori strains are related to more severe clinical outcomes, although the genetic mechanism(s) underlying this observed associations is not yet ... INTRODUCTION: The aim of this experiment is to investigate and find the relationship between heat loss (of water) and surface area to volume ratio of animals. To investigate this, we are going to use three flasks of different volume (as the equivalent the animals) and thus different surface areas filled with water. It may be that a genetic predisposition to perception exists, but that situational factors also have to be in place for it to develop. Apart from the above, there are a few more differences between Gibson s and Gregory s theories of perception. Gregory believes that expectations have an impact on perceptions which Gibson disagrees. There is empirical evidence supporting the idea of Gregory, and this comes from a study carried out by Simons and Levin. 50% of the participants failed to realise that there was a switch of people. This is probably due to the fact that the participants had not expected a change of person. Hence, they were unable to perceive it. Othello, a great general, finds himself at odds with the notion that his beloved wife has been unfaithful, while Desdemona is completely innocent. He loves her so much that the idea of her adultery drives him to murder. The ensign to the general, Iago, is behind the rumors and the turmoil. He manipulates the trust between Othello and those who are closest to him, even so far as suggesting the method irate Othello uses to kill his wife. However, despite Iago being the ringleader behind the conflict and crime, Othello would be charged guilty for first degree murder, criminal conspiracy, and tampering with a witness in a court of law. Iago would be cleared of any homicide accusations, most likely getting a minimal charge compared to Othello. Othello committed first degree murder by killing Desdemona. First degree murder is any unlawful killing done with intent and premeditation, of which Othello is guilty of both. Iago plants suspicions into his mind until Othello decides he would rather kill her than deal with a reality where she was unfaithful. Most part of my life was spend in Cameroon ( Africa). Racial differences was never an issues. We never talk about race differences, but tribal differences. While some tribes claim to be the dominant tribe others feel they are being marginalized due systemic corruption. For instance the government influential persons like, the Governors, minister, divisional officers etc. would employed and pass out opportunities only to people from their tribes. If by chance or some reason one happens to be employed in that department, one is likely to experience the tribal differences. However, as an African, at the age of 12, we learned about slave trades; Particularly which tribe was responsible for capturing other tribe members, what techniques they used, how they were categorized, how much they were worth but interestingly, how they were transported and treated at their destination. • 35. Correlation Between Zinc And Copper Solutions Read the Voltmeter to see what the electrical cell potential is. Repeat steps 13 18 for all variations of Copper Chloride. Record the raw quantitative data in the table below: Electrical Potential Difference Between Zinc and Copper Solutions Electrical Potential Difference Variation in Copper Chloride Trial 1 Trial 2 Trial 3 0.5 1 1.5 2 2.5 Record qualitative data as well in the Observations section. When all quantitative data has been collected and recorded, use the equation below to calculate the average electrical potential difference, or Average E_Cell of each variation of Copper Chloride. Ave.E_(Cell ) for Variation in Copper Chloride=(Trial 1+Trial 2+Trial 3)/(Number of Trials) Create a scatter plot graph with a trend line to showcase the data. Calculate the slope/increase in average cell potential with the equation below: Slope=Rise/Step =(y_2 y_1)/(x_2 x_1 ) Observations: Qualitative Observations: Zinc chloride was easier to manipulate than Copper chloride because the solid was less condensed than Copper When Zinc Chloride was mixed with water, the solution was first green and when stirred turned light blue When the Potassium Nitrate became fully dissolved in water, the bottom of the beaker became cold The more Copper Chloride that was added to the Copper solution, the more opaque the solution became When the salt bridge connected the two electrodes, the Voltmeter reacted immediately Raw Quantitative ...
