Monetary Policy Of The Federal Reserve System
Most people don t understand Economic growth or what takes place in the economy with regard to
inflation, unemployment, or interest rates. These things are all regulated by the central bank called the
Federal Reserve System. The tope covered in this paper is the monetary policy which is the policy that
decides if unemployment, interest, and inflation decreases or increases. The Monetary policy decides
what price a person pays for an item at the store, how much interest a person will get charged on a
loan for a car. This is something most people consider, most just look for the best price point or look
where their money can go the farthest.
Monetary policy consists of specific changes in the money supply to influence interest rates which in
return adjusts the level of spending in the economy. The goal of the policy is to achieve and maintain
price stability, full employment, and economic growth. The regulation of the money supply and
interest rates are controlled by a central bank, such as the Federal Reserve Board in the U.S., in order
to control inflation. Monetary policy is only one of the two ways the government can affect the
economy. By altering the effective cost of money, the Federal Reserve can ultimately change the
amount of money that is spent by consumers and businesses.
The Federal Reserve System is the United States central bank and was established in 1913 and
consists of the Board of 7 Governors in Washington, D.C., and 12 Federal Reserve District Banks.

The Symbolism Of Faith In Hawthorne s When Young Goodman...
First, Hawthorne uses Faith to represent young Goodman Brown s faith in God. When Young
Goodman Brown prepares to leave on his journey, Faith tries to warn him not to go on his set course
and to stay with her (Hawthorne 261 262). By leaving her, the author symbolizes that Brown is
consciously deciding to walk away from God, which ultimately leads him down the wrong path.
Next, Hawthorne uses the withered branch to symbolize how Satan causes Brown s Faith in God to
diminish. As Goodman Brown and Satan continue further down the dark path together, the devil
breaks a branch from the side of the road. At the touch of his hand, the branch instantly withers
(Hawthorne 265). By showing how Satan s touch caused the broken branch to wither, Nathanial

Schopenhauer s Criticism of Kant s Analysis of Object Essay
Schopenhauer s Criticism of Kant s Analysis of Object
Schopenhauer makes it clear that he is indebted to Kant for his vision of transcendental idealism, and
that his Critique of Pure Reason [2] is a work of genius. However, Schopenhauer argued that Kant
made many mistakes when formulating his philosophy, and he set about the task of uncovering them
in his Criticism of the Kantian Philosophy, an appendix to be found in The World as Will and
Representation [1]. In this essay I wish to analyse the criticism made against Kant s determination of
an object, since this is an important factor if we are to comprehend how we understand reality.
Kant s Critique of Pure Reason [2] is notoriously difficult to read and often unclear. Possibly, ... Show

Only with the concept of the chair does the chair become known. Concepts are essential if we are to
perceive the world: in no other way can an object be given to us [2; B33]. Thus, for Kant, intuition and
thought complement one another: thoughts without content are empty, intuitions without concepts are
blind [2; B75].
The scope of the concept of object goes further than the example I have given immediately suggests: it
does not just deal with an object that I perceive at one particular time, but can deal with the object at
different times, and at different positions in space. Thus, to take the example of the particular chair I
am looking at, the same concept of the chair synthesizes my immediate intuition, along with the chair
as it was yesterday when, I recall, it was in another room, and also with any expectation I have of the
chair tomorrow. The concept is able to synthesize all of these manifold phenomena across time and
space. It picks out those features that make it the same chair; for example, that it is a particular shape
and colour, and that it has a particular scratch mark on one of its legs.
Bringing Thinking into Perception
Schopenhauer s first criticism of Kant is that he brings thinking into perception [1; p.439]. As we have
seen, for Kant, an object is not perceived meaningfully for what it is, until it is thought. Yet, this seems
odd, because it seems to me that I do not have

Failure And How After Failure
Failure
It absolutely was difficult for me to think of your good career as my low academics profile snatched
all my confidence and made myself suffer from inferiority complex for some time. When I failed in
class 11th it was less shocking for me, but all my hopes of getting in to a good profession shattered
when I failed in the 11th. I passed my SSC with a miserable credit score of 44% and performed my
HSC Gujarat Board (12th Standard) for yourself and passed with 53% Marks. I appeared for a few

level. I was reading stories of failure and how after failure also people become successful and I was
motivated by Michael Jordan,

Case Study Of Pick N Pay And Woolworths
Chapter 4
Introduction:
This section displays the exploration discoveries to the research on the impact of foreign exchange
fluctuations on a business financial position and ability to invest. The examination was directed at 2
firms as a multiple case study, Pick n Pay and Woolworths Holdings where both companies have
direct relations with foreign currency within their respective companies. These companies were
presented with a survey which appear in the reference and appendix D. Out of the 2 respondents, 2

Alexis De Tocqueville Cold War
In 1835, French historian, Alexis de Tocqueville wrote that, There are at the present time two great
nations in the world [...] I allude to the Russians and the Americans [...] Their starting point is
different, and their courses are not the same; yet each of them seems marked out by the will of Heaven
to sway the destines of half the globe. Tocqueville s insightful view was proven in the aftermath of the
Second World War with the emergence of a bipolar international system where the American and
Soviets sought geopolitical, ideological and economic hegemony.
The Cold War encompassed a lengthy period of the world history spanning from 1945, after the end of
the Second World War to 1991 with the collapse of the Soviet Union. However, the relations between
the Soviet Union and the United States had always been lukewarm at best as distinct differences in the
political systems of the two countries often hindered them from reaching a mutual understanding that
led to shift between cautious cooperation to bitter superpower rivalry over the years. The fluctuate
relations between the two power eventually reached its peak with a hostile rivalry that lasted for
almost half of a century. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Tension Between The Pages And Real Life
The Tension Between the Pages and Real Life
White is for Witching like many other books has an underlying tone of racial and social issues. These
issues are not only rooted from the location or the events that occurred during the year it was
published but by Helen Oyeyemi s own personal life experiences. She had written the book in a way
that wasn t attacking or intimidating for anyone to read to help spread awareness to an issue that
continues to be a problem today. Helen Oyeyemi Helen Oyeyemi is a Nigerian British novelist and
playwright who got her start in high school, getting ready for her A levels (which are pretty much
SATs for British students). She went to go on and study social and political science at Corpus Christi
College in Cambridge. Her studies most likely had a huge effect on her writing. She had written the
Icarus Girl, Juniper s Whitening and Victimese, White is for Witching, and her latest collection of
stories called What is Not Yours is Not Yours (Webbiography). Each of her plays/ books has a theme
from exploring the pain of living and the difficulty of dying (Juniper s Whitening and Victimese),
themes of ownership and individual agency and boundaries (What is Not Yours is Not Yours),
isolation (Icarus Girl), and Racism and mental/eating disorder (White is for Witching). Her life
experiences were also another heavy influence for the content of her books. In an interview Oyeyemi

Elgin Marbles
The Elgin Marbles emulate a struggle of nations to come to agreeance over cultural heritage that
idolizes the context of visual sculptures. In the possession of the Britons, the Marbles reach a larger
demographic with the aim of the British Museum in educating for the public benefit. Thus, if not
removed from the Parthenon in the early 1800 s, further destruction to the priceless works of art would
have occurred. Although the marbles hold an imperial stigma in the British possession, the creation of
the Parthenon also distributed a national imperial value after the Athenian conquest of the Persian
Wars that in contrast is highly related to Britain in the period of acquisition. Culture does not always
belong only to the society that created ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As mentioned previously, there was rivalry between France and Britain in the search of antiquities
bringing military conflict to a war of culture. The British government was hesitant at first in the
purchase of the Elgin Marbles, but later came to a democratic vote of eighty two to thirty votes in
acquiring the Marbles for the nation. The Marbles are not distinctively Greek in the value of cultural
heritage in the consideration that Greece was not a sovereign nation at the time of creation or
acquisition. Thus the Indo European material must remain housed in Britain to showcase not
exclusively the British imperial power, but also the historical powers that resonate in the Elgin
Marbles. When first presented in London June 1807, by Lord Elgin people believed the Marbles were,
superior in style to everything else on earth , and in acquisition of the Marbles the Periclean Athens
acted as a British role model in the period of the Napoleonic Wars. The Marbles of the Parthenon were
created by the Athenians after the defeat of the Persians in 479 BCE with the lead of Pericles who
aimed in the advancement of art and culture through the making of the Acropolis. The British
Museum, in correspondence to the Acropolis, acts as an imperial centre that not only

Data Gathering Essay
Research is a vital tool for education. It is research that gives us the ability to accurately observe broad
pools of student, respond to data, and thus become better educators. Without research, we wouldn t be
able to have great standard curriculums. But as I learned in this section, research is complicated,
detailed, and often labor intensive.
There are many ways to gather information. Each of the many data gathering techniques has their own
pros and cons. Understanding the many different types of data gathering is important, as it keeps us
flexible and ready to enact effectively upon any situation. These types of data gathering techniques
include interviews, questionnaires, and surveys.
Although interviews are not always economic and possible to conduct on broad numbers of students,
they are probably my favorite type of data gathering technique because they are personal and therefore
much more likely to be accurate. The process of interviewing involves an interviewer sitting down
with an interviewee to ask questions. The questions and responses can be more complicated than those
of other techniques such as tests or questionnaires. This is due to the ability of the interviewee to
answer in more complicated terms due to the barrier of transmission being so low. It only takes talking
for the interviewee to communicate the info. This is opposed to the writing of the questionnaire or the
way a student is restricted to only a few number of responses on a test. Also, an

Nigger In The English Language
In the English language, nigger is an ethnic slur usually directed at black people. The word originated
as a neutral term referring to people with black skin, as a variation of the Spanish/Portuguese noun
negro, a descendant of the Latin adjective niger . It was often used disparagingly, and by the mid 20th
century, particularly in the United States, its usage became unambiguously pejorative, a racist insult.
Accordingly, it began to disappear from popular culture, and its continued inclusion in classic works
of literature has sparked controversy.
In the contemporary United States, using the word is taboo, and it is often replaced with the
euphemism the N word . Nigga , is sometimes used among African Americans as a neutral or term of
endearment. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
W. Fowler states that applying the word nigger to others than full or partial negroes is felt as an insult
by the person described, betrays in the speaker, if not deliberate insolence, at least a very arrogant
inhumanity ; but the second edition states: N. has been described as the term that carries with it all the
obloquy and contempt and rejection which whites have inflicted on blacks. .
Victorian writer Rudyard Kipling used it in How the Leopard Got His Spots and A Counting Out Song
to illustrate the usage of the day. Likewise, P. G. Wodehouse used the phrase Nigger minstrels in
Thank You, Jeeves, the first Jeeves Bertie novel, in admiration of their artistry and musical tradition.

As recently as the 1950s, it may have been acceptable British usage to say niggers when referring to
black people, notable in mainstream usages such as Nigger Boy brand candy cigarettes, and the color
nigger brown or simply nigger ; however, by the 1970s the term was generally regarded as racist,
offensive and potentially illegal along with nig nog , and golliwog . Agatha Christie s book Ten Little
Niggers was first published in London in 1939 and continued to appear under that title until the early
1980s, when it became And Then There Were None.

The Rolling Stones Influence On Rock And Roll
In 1962, Mick Jagger and Keith Richard reunited after 10 years of not having any contact with one
another. They began to work together after sharing the love they had for blues music. To their
amazement, they discovered that both of them had grown up listening to the same great American
bluesmen and rockers like Chuck Berry and Bo Diddley. The two formed a friendship that was based
on one common interest: music, an author added in his report ( The Rolling Stones ). While joining a
few blues groups in London, they decided to get together and formed their own band. In 1962, they
formed the Rolling Stones, naming their group after the rolling stone that represented a tough and

Self Reliance As Defined By Webster s Dictionary
Self reliance, as defined by Webster s Dictionary, is the reliance on one s own efforts and abilities.
Emerson expands on that concept in his 1841 essay entitled Self Reliance. For Emerson, self reliance
has many different facets. His main point is the importance of embracing individuality. He says, not
for nothing one face, one character, one fact, makes much impression on him [man], and another none.
It is not with out pre established harmony, this sculpture in the memory (2). This idea of divine
predestination is central to his argument for believing in oneself. He asks the reader to trust his or her
own thoughts. After all, all great thoughts from all great thinkers were unique to them. The world
could not have benefited from Plato, or Luther, or Christ, if they had not trusted their own instincts
and believed them true for all mankind. These great men were able to live in the world as in solitude,
walking and functioning among others while trusting their own thoughts and accepting the fact that
they were often alone in them. Emerson warns against living in the past, repeating the thoughts of
others. Instead he would rather one live for oneself in the present, for power ceases in the instant of
repose; it resides in the moment of transition from a past to a new state... This one fact the world
hates, that the soul becomes; for that forever degrades the past... (26). Emerson does not mislead his
readers into thinking self reliance will be easy. In fact, he clearly

Analysis Of Along The Coast By Alfred Thompson Bricher
The artwork titled Along the Coast by Alfred Thompson Bricher was painted in the year 1880. This
particular work is composed of oil on canvas though the dimension were not specified at the Museum
of Fine Arts in Saint Petersburg, Florida. The overall focus of this painting is landscape in along a
northeastern seacoast in the United States. To begin, the formal element of line can be seen throughout
this artwork and helps the audience understand the dimensions and viewpoint the audience Bricher
grants his audience. The first noticeable line is defined by the shoreline giving the painting depth and
expressing distance. There is also a line along the bottom of the seaside cliff that allows the audience
to further understand that this painting is of a three dimensional landscape. Moreover, where the blue
sky meets the grey and black of the cliff provides an outline for the physical landscape the artist
wished to capture and defines the space it occupies. Also, the line outlining where the water is located
provides an outline for the entirety of the shore. Furthermore, another formal element of art that
appears in this work is space. Bricher was able to transform his two dimensional depiction into a
window to a three dimensional space by simply manipulating his audience s point of view. In the
foreground, the artist rendered the images of the beached seaweed, rock formation in the water, and
rowboat with comparably great detail. As the viewer s eye travels up the physical

France has the fastest tested time for a non maglev, steel wheeled train, at 574 km/h. It is a matter of
history that H Neuvon, who was a member of the Japanese delegation (1960) visiting France about the
25kV overhead traction system and played an important role in the first Shinkansen, was closely
associated with the Indian Railways in introducing the Rajdhani Express trains. While IR is still stuck
at the 1964 determined 130 kmph restriction, the Japanese have already migrated to double the speed
already.
China, while being a newcomer to HSR, has very rapidly expanded its HSR system and has some of
the most ambitious plans, by far, of any country for HSR expansion within the country and across the
entire Asian continent. In contrast, the United States as a whole has only just recently, with the
endorsement and backing of President Obama, begun an effort to develop HSR by allotting funds for
the exploration, planning, and in some cases, building of regional HSR systems.
Having said this, part of the current efforts to develop HSR includes funding projects, such the one in
California, connecting Sacramento to L.A., which have been in the planning phases for some time

Hobbit Movie Vs Book
Beorn: Help or Harm The most honest form of filmmaking is to make a film for yourself Peter
Jackson.
The Hobbit novel, written by J.R.R. Tolkien in 1937, is a story of a Hobbit. This Hobbit s name is
Bilbo Baggins, from Hobbiton. He is a respected Hobbit who never did anything out of the ordinary,
or unpredictable. One morning Gandalf, a wise wizard came to Bilbo inviting him on a journey. Bilbo
on any other occasion would not have any part in an adventure, but his mother s side of the family got
the better of him. On his way to rediscover Long forgotten gold, Bilbo, and his new dwarvish friends,
run into many trials and challenges. In the year 2013 the second part of the book was made into
movie, directed by Peter Jackson. Peter Jackson decided to make many changes from the original
book to the movie. Two of the major changes were in the scene in which the company of dwarves, The
Hobbit, and The Wizard go to an old acquaintance of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
During the book, the company is being chased by goblins and wargs before they arrived at Beorn s
home. When they got to Beorn s home they needed help escaping them so he went and skinned a warg
and cut the head off of a goblin. He hung these both outside to let the other wargs and goblins no not
to come near. A goblin s head is stuck outside the gate and warg skin is nailed to a tree just beyond.
(Tolkien 131).This lets us see just how ruthless Beorn can get. Also with Beorn s strength, the dwarves
could feel threatened, but through the book we cannot see that. During the movie we see Beorn
serving their breakfast as more of a friend than just a resource. Beorn in Peter Jackson s eyes is
depicted as more of a level headed person with a backstory of hatred toward the Wargs and Goblins.
Peter Jackson s interpretation of Beorn is effective because he made him have more human
characteristics then

A Lecture Hall Is Filled At The Brim With College Students
Imagine this scenario: a lecture hall is filled to the brim with college students, more than half of the
students are either daydreaming about the upcoming weekend or texting on their phones. Their
professor stands in the front of the hall trying to give his prepared lecture, but the majority of his
students are not paying attention. What shall the professor do to motivate his students to pay attention
in class? He announces to them that if they can fully engage themselves in his lecture for the rest of
the class time, he will give them each five dollars. The students are suddenly all ears, pens ready to
take notes, eyes glued to the front of the room, in hopes of receiving the professor s incentive. Does
this seem like a harmless scenario for a desperate professor to motivate his students? While there are
possibly individuals who would agree that the scenario is not invoking any harm on the students, there
are others who would argue that paying students to try in school takes away their motivation to
actually learn. Among the latter stands Alfie Kohn, author or Punished By Rewards: The Trouble with
Gold Stars, Incentive Plans, A s, Praise, and Other Bribes, who would be appalled by the professor s
actions. Kohn s book challenges the common phenomenon of using rewards in everyday life in
dealing with others. With examples pulled from schools, the workplace, and even households, he
demonstrates to his audience that rewards have become means of controlling one another than as

Young Earth Realism Vs. Old Earth Creationism
This book has taught me far beyond what I expected, perhaps while reading this book I learned much
more about the Genesis 1 account than I ever learned in my entire life. Miller and Soden might argue
that my lack of study in this area is a result of being a group thinker rather than an individual thinker
(30). Looking at both the Young Earth creationism (YEC) and the Old earth creationism (OEC) views
for the first time, I realized that during my time at Moody Bible Institute I am really seeking to be
challenged in my beliefs with by no means making it some kind of test for orthodoxy. Even though
both the YEC and OEC views have strong arguments the aim of this essay is to demonstrate what I
took away from this book which was written by two advocate of the OEC belief.
At the beginning of the book Miller and Soden argues that the people who ... Show more content on

I particularly enjoyed learning about how the offspring of Abraham that had spent hundreds of years
in exile in Egypt has been affected by their religious beliefs. More specifically their belief on creation
since they have the most similarities with the one in Genesis 1. Miller and Soden said that sometimes
our observation of the world may require us to reconsider our understanding of the text because we
have not adequately understood the text in its original context. I agree with this statement more than
ever before; my mind is blown by this book. Genesis 1:2 talks about the earth being formless, void.
Darkness and deep. Similarly, the Egyptian belied for creation is that the earth was watery,
unilluminated, with darkness and imperceptibility. Additionally, the separation from the light to
darkness occurs in both account. The conundrum of having light created before the sun is in place in

Most U.S. citizens vote because they believe that their vote will make a difference and because they
believe that they have an equal vote. However, this isn t the case with the Electoral College system.
With this system, it is possible for a candidate who receives less popular votes to win the election. In
fact, these types of scenarios have occurred in the United States where the candidate wins the popular
vote, but still manages to lose the entire election because they received fewer electoral votes.
Therefore, our votes would all matter and actually make a difference if there wasn t such a system and
if the winning candidate was based off of the majority of popular votes.

Bush was proclaimed the winner over Vice President Al Gore by 537 votes in the state of Florida. This
undemocratic result fired many citizens wish of reforming and even eliminating the Electoral College.
Therefore, this current system of the Electoral College is in need of a reform because there are many
dangers attached. For instance, the current system allows for the House of Representatives to choose
the winner of the election if no candidate receives a majority vote. In addition, if electors fail to vote
in agreement with other voters and the current allocation of electoral votes, the candidate without the
majority vote of the citizens can win the election. On the whole, the Electoral College is an
undemocratic system that that violates our belief that we can all make a difference by voting.
At the time of its creation, the framers of the Constitution believed that an election based purely on
popularity was hasty, while others protested on giving Congress full power to select the next president
and vice president. Altogether, the Electoral College was set up to allow voters to vote for electors,
who would then cast their votes for candidates, as described in Article 2 of the U.S. Constitution.
However, battleground state citizens are showered with more attention from the presidential
candidates. On the other hand, if you live in a red or blue state, you are out of luck. A vote from a

Main Goals of The Progressive Movement Essay
In the late nineteenth century to early twentieth century the Progressive Era was moving to reshape
America. Progressivism was a political movement that encouraged the exposure of corruption in
America in order to reshape it for the better. This time period became known for the social and
political changes that took place as a result of the progressives. Progressivism ruled the country,
changing the way Americans lived and the way politics affected them. One of the main goals of the
progressive movement was to use democracy to regulate the government by exposing the corruption
of government officials. Another area in which the progressives moved for change was business. In

Upton Beall Sinclair grew up in a poor family, always moving around from city to city with his father
s job as a salesman. His mother, Priscilla Sinclair, had rich relatives on her side of the family whom
Upton would visit with some regularity. As he grew up this allowed him to see how the rich and the
poor lived, giving him an insight that shaped his career as a writer and journalist. He did not have a
good relationship with either his mother or father, causing him to become independent at a young age.
When he was just fourteen his family moved to New York city and he started writing to pay for his
tuition at the City College of New York. He went on to graduate from Columbia University, paying his
way with stories he wrote. His early career consisted of small novels and journal articles that never
became well known. Upton Sinclair often wrote for the socialist journal Appeal to Reason, showing
his socialist ideals. Growing up in poverty and visiting wealth caused him to have these socialist
views. The crowning point of his career came

Comparing King Henry The V, Romeo And Juliet, And Much Ado...
What do the Prodigal Son,The Boy who Cried Wolf and Much Ado about nothing, have in common?
The answers is the moral of redemption as the main theme in the story, although it is easy to assume
that the Prodigal Son and the Boy who cried wolf seem to be easily understand as common stories of
redemption. What does Much ado about nothing share? Much ado is also a story about redemption and
forgiveness. It seems very hard to understand that shakespeare wrote about morals and character.
Although Shakespeare stories often seem entertaining and enthralling, there appear to be hidden
themes in three of his best known stories, King Henry the V, Romeo and Juliet and Much Ado about
Nothing! These three stories contain themes that were important and applicable in the 16th century

Analysis Of Nel Cor Pi Non Mi Sento
Nel cor più non mi sento by Giovanni Paisiello The composer of Nel cor più non mi sento is Giovanni
Paisiello, an Italian opera composer born in 1740. Giovanni s musical talent was discovered when his
singing ability was revealed while at school. As a result, Giovanni was sent to the Conservatory of
Dan Onofrio at Naples. While in school, he composed multiple intermezzi, which garnered enough
attention to grant him the opportunity to write two operas. Giovanni s career advanced from there,
spending time composing in Russia, and Vienna before returning to Naples; he also had a spent a short
amount of time in Paris. Ultimately, over eighty different operas are credited to Paisiello as well as
many smaller works. This particular song, Nel cor più non mi sento comes from his 1788 opera L
amor constrastato, more commonly known as La Molinara. In this comedy opera, three men (Don
Calloandro, Don Rospolone, and Pistofolo) fall for mill owner Rachelina. Issues arise since
Calloandro is set to marry his cousin Eugenia, and both Calloandro and Rospolone reveal their
affection for Rachelina to Pistofolo. Within the opera, Nel cor... is sung by Rachelina with a second

In the last few years, the industrial production in India has redeveloped; and especially in the last few

Add to that the increase in the production of capital goods by 10.7%, with the growth in basic goods

Annually, the average growth in industrial production recorded an increase by 0.7% in less than a year

Muslims Social Justice
Social justice is the right and freedom that everyone has about their chosen religion. Mahatma Gandhi
says I have no right to more than I need when my brother has less than he needs. Therefore, this quote
suggests that social justice is enjoyable if all of us have it. It s hurting for me to have freedom towards
everything while my brother next door is deprived his freedom especially that of religion. The US
Congress even passed the establishment clause which prohibited the law from interfering with the
establishment and practices of any religion. The establishment clause promotes social justice, but
many people and the legislature have broken this law. Why are the Muslims linked to many terrorist
activities? Why is terrorism involving Muslims more aired in the media than those attacks involving
non Muslims? These are the questions that need answers because stereotyping a religion is social
justice.

Getting Successful Universal Ehr Is Not Just Technology...
Getting successful universal EHR is not just technology selection, implementation question it needs to
address many other aspects such as physician s acceptance, policy/laws, incentives, security, and
privacy and training issues before we can concentrate or focus on technology selection and
implementations. The ecosystem should be ready with all these critical elements addressed only then
successful EHR implementation can sustain in US. First and foremost there is a need to have
consistency around the state/federal and HIPPA regulations which defines security and privacy issues
in US. Due to conflicting requirements in these regulations mass acceptance of any medical
system/technology cannot be effectively done. Second biggest issue for universal EHR adoption is the
acceptance of EHR by physician s communities. The benefits of EHR has been identified and
acknowledged by medical communities at large however the rate of adoption and use after
implementation is sluggish. The biggest common contributor for implementation, design and use of
EHR systems is physician. Physicians should be properly trained and emphasis on continual education
should also be placed through continuing education credits. Unless small physician office (stand alone
offices) buy in the adoption of EHR no matter what technology and processes we have in place, EHR
won t be universally accepted and the entire benefit and value associated with EHR can be realized
with universal acceptance of EHR. Thus need for

  • 2. Monetary Policy Of The Federal Reserve System Most people don t understand Economic growth or what takes place in the economy with regard to inflation, unemployment, or interest rates. These things are all regulated by the central bank called the Federal Reserve System. The tope covered in this paper is the monetary policy which is the policy that decides if unemployment, interest, and inflation decreases or increases. The Monetary policy decides what price a person pays for an item at the store, how much interest a person will get charged on a loan for a car. This is something most people consider, most just look for the best price point or look where their money can go the farthest. Monetary policy consists of specific changes in the money supply to influence interest rates which in return adjusts the level of spending in the economy. The goal of the policy is to achieve and maintain price stability, full employment, and economic growth. The regulation of the money supply and interest rates are controlled by a central bank, such as the Federal Reserve Board in the U.S., in order to control inflation. Monetary policy is only one of the two ways the government can affect the economy. By altering the effective cost of money, the Federal Reserve can ultimately change the amount of money that is spent by consumers and businesses. The Federal Reserve System is the United States central bank and was established in 1913 and consists of the Board of 7 Governors in Washington, D.C., and 12 Federal Reserve District Banks. ... • 3. The Symbolism Of Faith In Hawthorne s When Young Goodman... First, Hawthorne uses Faith to represent young Goodman Brown s faith in God. When Young Goodman Brown prepares to leave on his journey, Faith tries to warn him not to go on his set course and to stay with her (Hawthorne 261 262). By leaving her, the author symbolizes that Brown is consciously deciding to walk away from God, which ultimately leads him down the wrong path. Next, Hawthorne uses the withered branch to symbolize how Satan causes Brown s Faith in God to diminish. As Goodman Brown and Satan continue further down the dark path together, the devil breaks a branch from the side of the road. At the touch of his hand, the branch instantly withers (Hawthorne 265). By showing how Satan s touch caused the broken branch to wither, Nathanial ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Schopenhauer s Criticism of Kant s Analysis of Object Essay Schopenhauer s Criticism of Kant s Analysis of Object Schopenhauer makes it clear that he is indebted to Kant for his vision of transcendental idealism, and that his Critique of Pure Reason [2] is a work of genius. However, Schopenhauer argued that Kant made many mistakes when formulating his philosophy, and he set about the task of uncovering them in his Criticism of the Kantian Philosophy, an appendix to be found in The World as Will and Representation [1]. In this essay I wish to analyse the criticism made against Kant s determination of an object, since this is an important factor if we are to comprehend how we understand reality. Kant s Critique of Pure Reason [2] is notoriously difficult to read and often unclear. Possibly, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Only with the concept of the chair does the chair become known. Concepts are essential if we are to perceive the world: in no other way can an object be given to us [2; B33]. Thus, for Kant, intuition and thought complement one another: thoughts without content are empty, intuitions without concepts are blind [2; B75]. The scope of the concept of object goes further than the example I have given immediately suggests: it does not just deal with an object that I perceive at one particular time, but can deal with the object at different times, and at different positions in space. Thus, to take the example of the particular chair I am looking at, the same concept of the chair synthesizes my immediate intuition, along with the chair as it was yesterday when, I recall, it was in another room, and also with any expectation I have of the chair tomorrow. The concept is able to synthesize all of these manifold phenomena across time and space. It picks out those features that make it the same chair; for example, that it is a particular shape and colour, and that it has a particular scratch mark on one of its legs. Bringing Thinking into Perception Schopenhauer s first criticism of Kant is that he brings thinking into perception [1; p.439]. As we have seen, for Kant, an object is not perceived meaningfully for what it is, until it is thought. Yet, this seems odd, because it seems to me that I do not have ... • 5. Failure And How After Failure Failure It absolutely was difficult for me to think of your good career as my low academics profile snatched all my confidence and made myself suffer from inferiority complex for some time. When I failed in class 11th it was less shocking for me, but all my hopes of getting in to a good profession shattered when I failed in the 11th. I passed my SSC with a miserable credit score of 44% and performed my HSC Gujarat Board (12th Standard) for yourself and passed with 53% Marks. I appeared for a few access tests for getting in Executive but failed in first attempt itself. Being from a middle class family the expectations and academics failure frustrated me and literally has lost my mental balance at some level. I was reading stories of failure and how after failure also people become successful and I was motivated by Michael Jordan, I can accept failure, everyone fails at something. But I can t accept not trying In some manner I managed to get admission in Bachelor of Engineering and possess completed it with 56% marks. During my graduation I understood that for a middle section class family only assisting factor is studies and survive with self respect I can be sincere towards my studies. • 7. Alexis De Tocqueville Cold War In 1835, French historian, Alexis de Tocqueville wrote that, There are at the present time two great nations in the world [...] I allude to the Russians and the Americans [...] Their starting point is different, and their courses are not the same; yet each of them seems marked out by the will of Heaven to sway the destines of half the globe. Tocqueville s insightful view was proven in the aftermath of the Second World War with the emergence of a bipolar international system where the American and Soviets sought geopolitical, ideological and economic hegemony. The Cold War encompassed a lengthy period of the world history spanning from 1945, after the end of the Second World War to 1991 with the collapse of the Soviet Union. However, the relations between the Soviet Union and the United States had always been lukewarm at best as distinct differences in the political systems of the two countries often hindered them from reaching a mutual understanding that led to shift between cautious cooperation to bitter superpower rivalry over the years. The fluctuate relations between the two power eventually reached its peak with a hostile rivalry that lasted for almost half of a century. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 8. The Tension Between The Pages And Real Life The Tension Between the Pages and Real Life White is for Witching like many other books has an underlying tone of racial and social issues. These issues are not only rooted from the location or the events that occurred during the year it was published but by Helen Oyeyemi s own personal life experiences. She had written the book in a way that wasn t attacking or intimidating for anyone to read to help spread awareness to an issue that continues to be a problem today. Helen Oyeyemi Helen Oyeyemi is a Nigerian British novelist and playwright who got her start in high school, getting ready for her A levels (which are pretty much SATs for British students). She went to go on and study social and political science at Corpus Christi College in Cambridge. Her studies most likely had a huge effect on her writing. She had written the Icarus Girl, Juniper s Whitening and Victimese, White is for Witching, and her latest collection of stories called What is Not Yours is Not Yours (Webbiography). Each of her plays/ books has a theme from exploring the pain of living and the difficulty of dying (Juniper s Whitening and Victimese), themes of ownership and individual agency and boundaries (What is Not Yours is Not Yours), isolation (Icarus Girl), and Racism and mental/eating disorder (White is for Witching). In the possession of the Britons, the Marbles reach a larger demographic with the aim of the British Museum in educating for the public benefit. Thus, if not removed from the Parthenon in the early 1800 s, further destruction to the priceless works of art would have occurred. Although the marbles hold an imperial stigma in the British possession, the creation of the Parthenon also distributed a national imperial value after the Athenian conquest of the Persian Wars that in contrast is highly related to Britain in the period of acquisition. As mentioned previously, there was rivalry between France and Britain in the search of antiquities bringing military conflict to a war of culture. The British government was hesitant at first in the purchase of the Elgin Marbles, but later came to a democratic vote of eighty two to thirty votes in acquiring the Marbles for the nation. The Marbles are not distinctively Greek in the value of cultural heritage in the consideration that Greece was not a sovereign nation at the time of creation or acquisition. Thus the Indo European material must remain housed in Britain to showcase not exclusively the British imperial power, but also the historical powers that resonate in the Elgin Marbles. When first presented in London June 1807, by Lord Elgin people believed the Marbles were, superior in style to everything else on earth , and in acquisition of the Marbles the Periclean Athens acted as a British role model in the period of the Napoleonic Wars. The Marbles of the Parthenon were created by the Athenians after the defeat of the Persians in 479 BCE with the lead of Pericles who aimed in the advancement of art and culture through the making of the Acropolis. • 10. Data Gathering Essay Research is a vital tool for education. It is research that gives us the ability to accurately observe broad pools of student, respond to data, and thus become better educators. Without research, we wouldn t be able to have great standard curriculums. But as I learned in this section, research is complicated, detailed, and often labor intensive. There are many ways to gather information. Each of the many data gathering techniques has their own pros and cons. Understanding the many different types of data gathering is important, as it keeps us flexible and ready to enact effectively upon any situation. These types of data gathering techniques include interviews, questionnaires, and surveys. Although interviews are not always economic and possible to conduct on broad numbers of students, they are probably my favorite type of data gathering technique because they are personal and therefore much more likely to be accurate. The process of interviewing involves an interviewer sitting down with an interviewee to ask questions. The questions and responses can be more complicated than those of other techniques such as tests or questionnaires. This is due to the ability of the interviewee to answer in more complicated terms due to the barrier of transmission being so low. It only takes talking for the interviewee to communicate the info. This is opposed to the writing of the questionnaire or the way a student is restricted to only a few number of responses on a test. Also, an ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 11. Nigger In The English Language In the English language, nigger is an ethnic slur usually directed at black people. The word originated as a neutral term referring to people with black skin, as a variation of the Spanish/Portuguese noun negro, a descendant of the Latin adjective niger . It was often used disparagingly, and by the mid 20th century, particularly in the United States, its usage became unambiguously pejorative, a racist insult. Accordingly, it began to disappear from popular culture, and its continued inclusion in classic works of literature has sparked controversy. In the contemporary United States, using the word is taboo, and it is often replaced with the euphemism the N word . Fowler states that applying the word nigger to others than full or partial negroes is felt as an insult by the person described, betrays in the speaker, if not deliberate insolence, at least a very arrogant inhumanity ; but the second edition states: N. has been described as the term that carries with it all the obloquy and contempt and rejection which whites have inflicted on blacks. . Victorian writer Rudyard Kipling used it in How the Leopard Got His Spots and A Counting Out Song to illustrate the usage of the day. Likewise, P. G. Wodehouse used the phrase Nigger minstrels in Thank You, Jeeves, the first Jeeves Bertie novel, in admiration of their artistry and musical tradition. See also below under Literary . As recently as the 1950s, it may have been acceptable British usage to say niggers when referring to black people, notable in mainstream usages such as Nigger Boy brand candy cigarettes, and the color nigger brown or simply nigger ; however, by the 1970s the term was generally regarded as racist, offensive and potentially illegal along with nig nog , and golliwog . They began to work together after sharing the love they had for blues music. To their amazement, they discovered that both of them had grown up listening to the same great American bluesmen and rockers like Chuck Berry and Bo Diddley. The two formed a friendship that was based on one common interest: music, an author added in his report ( The Rolling Stones ). While joining a few blues groups in London, they decided to get together and formed their own band. In 1962, they formed the Rolling Stones, naming their group after the rolling stone that represented a tough and independent man in blues songs like Rollin Stone and Mannish Boy (Charlton 107). • 13. Self Reliance As Defined By Webster s Dictionary Self reliance, as defined by Webster s Dictionary, is the reliance on one s own efforts and abilities. Emerson expands on that concept in his 1841 essay entitled Self Reliance. For Emerson, self reliance has many different facets. His main point is the importance of embracing individuality. He says, not for nothing one face, one character, one fact, makes much impression on him [man], and another none. It is not with out pre established harmony, this sculpture in the memory (2). This idea of divine predestination is central to his argument for believing in oneself. He asks the reader to trust his or her own thoughts. After all, all great thoughts from all great thinkers were unique to them. The world could not have benefited from Plato, or Luther, or Christ, if they had not trusted their own instincts and believed them true for all mankind. These great men were able to live in the world as in solitude, walking and functioning among others while trusting their own thoughts and accepting the fact that they were often alone in them. Emerson warns against living in the past, repeating the thoughts of others. Instead he would rather one live for oneself in the present, for power ceases in the instant of repose; it resides in the moment of transition from a past to a new state... This one fact the world hates, that the soul becomes; for that forever degrades the past... (26). Emerson does not mislead his readers into thinking self reliance will be easy. • 15. Analysis Of Along The Coast By Alfred Thompson Bricher The artwork titled Along the Coast by Alfred Thompson Bricher was painted in the year 1880. This particular work is composed of oil on canvas though the dimension were not specified at the Museum of Fine Arts in Saint Petersburg, Florida. The overall focus of this painting is landscape in along a northeastern seacoast in the United States. To begin, the formal element of line can be seen throughout this artwork and helps the audience understand the dimensions and viewpoint the audience Bricher grants his audience. The first noticeable line is defined by the shoreline giving the painting depth and expressing distance. There is also a line along the bottom of the seaside cliff that allows the audience to further understand that this painting is of a three dimensional landscape. Moreover, where the blue sky meets the grey and black of the cliff provides an outline for the physical landscape the artist wished to capture and defines the space it occupies. What shall the professor do to motivate his students to pay attention in class?
