Argument Essay Examples
Crafting an essay on the topic of "Argument Essay Examples" can be both challenging and
rewarding. On one hand, the abundance of information available may seem like a boon,
providing ample material for analysis and discussion. However, navigating through this sea of
examples to extract relevant and compelling arguments requires a keen analytical mind and a
discerning eye.
One of the challenges lies in striking the right balance between presenting diverse examples and
maintaining a coherent and focused argument. It's easy to get lost in the plethora of examples,
losing sight of the overarching message one intends to convey. Additionally, selecting examples
that effectively support the thesis while avoiding redundancy demands careful consideration.
Moreover, the process involves delving into the nuances of various arguments, critically
evaluating their validity, and presenting a well-rounded perspective. This requires a
comprehensive understanding of the topic, as well as the ability to weigh the strengths and
weaknesses of different arguments.
The challenge extends to the task of organizing the essay in a logical and compelling manner.
Crafting a strong introduction that captivates the reader's attention, developing a solid thesis
statement, and structuring the body paragraphs to flow seamlessly from one point to the next are
integral components of an effective argumentative essay.
Furthermore, the task of integrating counterarguments and addressing potential objections adds
another layer of complexity. Striking the right balance between presenting opposing viewpoints
and reinforcing one's own argument without appearing biased requires finesse.
In conclusion, while the process of writing an essay on "Argument Essay Examples" can be
daunting, it is also an opportunity for intellectual growth and expression. Navigating through the
complexities of argumentation, selecting relevant examples, and presenting a cohesive narrative
demand careful thought and attention. Ultimately, the difficulty lies in the pursuit of clarity and
persuasiveness amidst a myriad of examples and counterarguments.

Contra Tempo Critique
On Tuesday, April 19, 2016 I attended a guest artist modern concert performed by

In addition to making columns, two of the dancers brought full buckets of water on
the stage. During this scene, the movement to me felt as if Samad was improvising in
a puddle of water. Watching him I was curious to see what could happen next within
his movement. This movement consisted of rolling around and using the lower level
as he would transition to standing and falling back down. While the other dancers
entered the stage, the movement seemed indirect and used a great amount of
different stage space as most of the movement was an improvisation that incorporated

Women And Women s Role Of Women In Advertisements
For as long as advertisements have existed, gender displays have been used to
establish the role of one gender with relation to the opposite gender. Men and
women are depicted differently in advertisements as men have a more dominant,
active pose whereas women have a more submissive yet sexy allure. Perfume
marketers use this tactic to lure potential buyers into purchasing a fragrance. To
promote their product, companies use erotic images to appeal to the abstract idea of
desire. The degree of sexualization depends heavily on the model in the perfume
advertisement but women are almost always sexualized to a higher degree than men.
In some cases, there are images of women promoting perfume where they are not
scantily clad but rather portray a sense of youthfulness and independence. The women
in these advertisements are usually recognized celebrities and because of their fame,
they portray their own identities in perfume advertisements. Due to their status in
society and media, prominent and more recognized women have more powerful
poses in perfume advertisements which compare closer to a man s perfume
advertisement. Rather than being depicted as a meek womanwhose sole purpose is to
please men, they show that they do not need to depend on a man, but they can do
things for themselves.
In Susan Bordo s text Beauty (Re)discovers the Male Body, Bordo talks about the
fact that women have been overly sexualized in advertisements for many years but
the moment that men are
Coco Movie Analysis
COCO THE PIXAR MOVIE Many Mexican cultural families are familiar with the
holiday Dia de los Muertos and celebrate it joyfully, but to others it may seem to be
scary like Halloween. Dia de los Muertos is a holiday that Mexican families
celebrate life and the memories of those no longer with us to help support their
spiritual journey to the other side. COCO is a movie that takes the audience thru that
holiday experience, reviews regarding the new film, In Coco , DeathIs the Point

singer songwriter, Enersto de la Cruz and wishes to be just like him. But Miguel Is
forbidden to play his guitar or sing the songs he loves so much, ever since Miguel s
great great grandfather left, abandoning his family to pursue his dreams of stardom.
The story continues on when Miguel is sent to the land of the dead and poses as one

relatives who try to help him return back to the living before turning into a skeleton

Adoption Of A Foster Home Needs A Family

Adoption
One of the biggest issues we have today is that people don t know what some kids
have to go through when there parents give them up or they have a single mother
and she can not take care of them. Many children around the world are either alone
or in a foster home looking for some kind of miracle someone would find them and
love them and expect them into their family as one of them. Many parents, soon to
be parents, or people who wanna become some kind of parent needs to know that
some kid in a foster home needs a family.
Adoption is an alternative way to have a family; it is a lifetime decision that should
be made very cautiously. Adoption is a process where parents are supplied for
children whose biological parents are deceased, or for those children whose
biological parents are unable or unwilling to provide for their care. Adoption creates a
parent child relationship recognized for all purposes including: child support
obligations, inheritance rights and custody Вќ(Aigner p 10). The children are
provided for childless couples or individuals interested in becoming parents.
According to Dr. Ruth Mc. Roy at the UT School of Social work, there are
approximately 5,000,000 US births each year. Out of that approximation 118,000 are
adoptions. Вќ Adoption is traced back to the bible. It is known that the Pharaoh s
wife adopted Moses, and Jesus was even adopted by Joseph. Adoption even goes as
far back as
The Grasshopper Alternate Ending
As the winter went on the grasshopper got hungrier and hungrier. He tried to find
the ant to ask for some food. He dug to try to find something to eat. He didn t have
much energy left, so he went and laid down in the snow. Hungry as a horse, he was
getting very weak. As he was falling asleep he heard something coming. It was the
ant. The ant had seen him digging for food and decided to come and help him. Ant
helped him back to his den and gave Grasshopper some of his food. After they had
eaten they, Ant and Grasshopper went for a walk. Grasshopper said, Thank you so
much for the food. If you hadn t come along I probably would have died. Ant
replied, I could just let you starve to death, but you had to learn a lesson.
Grasshopper explained, I now know why you were working so hard during the
summer, and I will work just as hard next summer to build up food for the winter.

Maybe Grasshopper could stay in the barn for the rest of the winter. Ant explained
his idea the Grasshopper, and Grasshopper said, I would, but I don t know if it
would be okay with the other animals if I stayed here and ate their feed. They
talked about it for a while, and then they went over to the horse that was in the
barn. Horse explained, I wouldn t care much if you stay. The only thing you need
to do is help take care of the barn and the young animals through the winter. That
was no problem with Grasshopper. He would do this work in hopes of it helping
him know what he needed to do in the summer. Ant said goodbye to Grasshopper
and said he would see him next summer. They went their ways and Grasshopper got
to work. He helped care for the young animals all winter
Between A Rock And A Hard Place 24 Hours Analysis
Aron Ralston, the author of Between a Rock and a Hard Place creates a very
notable portrait of himself just within the first few pages of the novel. Ralston
presents himself to be tenacious, bold, and a relatively experienced outdoorsman.
Ralston describes a faulty trial of climbing, I m committed to my course; there s no
going back (Ralston 20). This quote shows how determined Ralston is to his
mission, the hiking trip. It becomes clear that Ralston values nature as he is so
committed to this trip. Ralston ponders, Some other marvelous force is in control,
and has been all along (Ralston 247). Ralston believes in some greater being that
controls life. This says a lot about his character as he can believe in something he
cannot feel, hear or see. The wildernessis not new to Ralston, as he s been mountain
climbing, hiking, skiing, as well participating in many other outdoor activities for
years before his near death experience. Ralston exclaims, Saying farewell is also a
bold and powerful beginning (Ralston 342). When Ralston was reaching the end in
the fight for his life, he began... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I believe Ralston s writing style is very unique, it s heartfelt and sincere. Ralston
experienced so much within the course of several days, and he turned it into 354
pages of brutal honesty. His tone shifted throughout different occurrences in the
book. I believe Ralston s primary tone in Between a Rock and a Hard Place was
very intimate. Ralston is sharing his near death experience, the thoughts racing
through his brain, and the actions he took to survive. Ralston s honesty and
sincerity helped create the intimate tone of this novel. Ralston questions himself,
You think you re done? How about all of those people who care about you? How
about all of those people who care about you? (Ralson 209). Ralston shared many of
the thoughts that helped him fight for his life, but he also shared many details of his
injuries and how he survived which helped create the tone of the
Combating Worker Injustices During in the Late 19th
Century
Workers in the late 19th century were treated unfairly the majority of the time. They
worked in unsafe conditions for meager pay. Young children joined the workforce to
help support their families. Most of the workers during this period were just thankful
to earn a living, so they rarely complained about their working conditions. All of these
factors spurred the creation of labor unions during the 19th century. The Knights of
Labor, the American Federation of Labor, and the Industrial Workers of the World
were just a few of the unions established during this time. The Knights of Labor was
founded in 1869 by Uriah S. Stephens. This union grew slowly, but managed to
spread more rapidly even during the depression of the 1870s. Some of the working
stipulations that this union imposed were elimination of convict labor competition,
eight hour workdays, guarantee of salaries, and the use of paper currency. They also
wanted equal pay for both men and women, which was a first during those times. A
big achievement for the Knights of Labor was keeping children under fourteen out of
the workforce. The Preamble to the Constitution of the Knights of Labor stated that,
The prohibition of the employment of children in workshops, mines, and factories
before attaining their fourteenth year. This allowed children to be children at least
until their teenage years, without the worries that adults faced. The American
Federation of Labor (AFL) was started in 1886. It was started
Belief In Free Will In Milton s Paradise Lost By John Milton
Belief in free will is the belief in self determination. Humanity exists with a
philosophical principle that humans have specific control over individual choices;
thus, are in control of their own destiny. Belief in free will gives validity and
responsibility to one s own choices and life. Without this belief humans would lose
part of their individualism and control. Actions would only be determined by external
forces. Consequently, ideas on self worth, ethics, accountability, and societal
relationships would be meaningless. Mankind needs to feel that multiple choices are
available and obtainable. Writers during the 18th century focused on the ideas of free
will. This determination was innate, yet factors within society and individuals that
influenced this autonomy, such as social immorality. The ideas of self sovereignty
have been examined through various sections of literature. Consequently, John Milton
s Paradise Lost , William Shakespeares King Lear, and Mary Astell From Some
Reflections upon Marriage examine free wills effect on humanity in relation to
corruption, enslavement to desires, and dangers/benefits. Milton, Shakespeare, and
Astell use written form to demonstrate that repercussion and vices of the idea of
free will. Paradise Lost by John Milton, Satan has entered Paradise in the form a
serpent. He tempts Eve with the fruit of the Forbidden Tree. Satan s appeals to Eve s
idea that knowledge and understanding of human nature will be obtained. Eve s
The Effects Of Gangster Rap And Appropriation Of The
West...
As N.W.A fell into the laps of the mainstream target audience: white, middle class,
suburban males and their angst filled teens, more problems began to arise
regarding the misconceptions of gangster rap and appropriation of the experience
of black men in low income cities. Most of the rap that this demographic would
hear on the radio was the lighter Pop Rap of MC Hammer and The Fresh Prince
and Jazzy Jeff. According to GZA, the founder of the Wu Tang Clan, the label
(Gangster Rap) was created by the media to limit what we can say. We just deliver
the truth in a brutal fashion...They don t like that, so you hear ban this, ban that .
We attack people s emotions. It s a real live show that brings out the inside in
people . But many people outside the scene just associated it with the violent rivalry
between the East Coast s Bad Boy Records and the West Coast s Death Row records
that ultimately resulted in the mysterious murders of The Notorious B.I.G. and 2Pac.
However, when Efil4zaggin hit number #1 on Billboard charts, the genre became
more widely acknowledged and accepted by mainstream audiences. Although, in a
general sense, Fuck Tha Policewas relatable to the Every Man in it s dissatisfaction
with unfairness it cannot be separated completely from it s specific context. Although
facing discrimination and brutality at the hands of cops was a common experience
for minorities, suburban America still refused to believe that this bias was happening.

The course of life between the occupants in the Secret Annex was filled with
happiness and festivities, but also many quarrels between them. Although each

To begin with, Mr. Van Daan and Mr. Dussel surprisingly have more similarities
than differences. Particularly, their perspective of Anne s behaviors are fairly
similar. They both believe that she is immature and childish, whereas she is trying to

Dussel and Mr. Van Daan are willing to risk chances; such as answering the
constantly ringing phone during a certain scene of the play. Mr. Frank refuses, as he
does not want to jeopardize the safety of others finding him and the residents in the
Secret Annex. On the contrary, Mr. Van Daan and Dussel want to pick up the

it means that the occupants take several risks. Their behavior towards certain
situations, especially this, are very similar. Although very anxious, their

Gender Roles And Social Issues In The Post-WWII Era
Every post war era in United States history is composed of a period of social
revolution. Ideas about gender roles and economic class change as the country
attempts to redefine itself and its morals in the wake of a devastating conflict.
Although the Great Depression was fifteen years removed from the First World
War, social issues of the time resemble the same issues that were pertinent in the
immediate post war era as well as American issues in the post WWII era. In a lot of
ways, they are still the issues we are facing nearly a century later. Many women
were forced to work during the war to supplement their husband s income while he
was deployed overseas but when he returned, their help was no longer needed or
desired. When the Great Depressionhit in 1929, women who were still in the
workplace or who sought jobs so that they could feed their families faced
accusations that their position in the workplace were preventing men from
obtaining jobs for their families. When the Depression ended and the United
States became involved in World War II, women were again forced to work to
supplement their husbands income, and yet again expected to leave the workforce
when men returned home from war. During the time period from 1932 1945,
social issues were addressed in film as both a moral boost during hard times and a
criticism of society. Gold Diggers of 1933 (1933) boosted the moral of moviegoers
during the Great Depression with its flashy costumes and dreams of being in the

The Myths of Creation
When the modern person ponders the formation of human beings, our mind
automatically goes to Adam and Eve, whom were the first man and woman created
by God according to the Book of Genesis. Before there was Adam and Eve, diverse
cultures came up with myths about the construction of humans. These myths
included: The Song of Creation from the Rig Veda, An African Creation Tale, From
the Popol Vuh, and A Native American Creation Tale How Man Was Created Each
one of these legends gives a diverse perspective on the creation of humanbeings. A

The Mohawk Indians thought that the Sat kon se ri io or the spirit known as Good
Spirit , created people and animals. The Africans believed that Unkulunkulu was the
earliest man to subsist. They said he came from the beds of reeds from the ground
and brought along the plants and animals with him. An African Creation Tale
suggests all living creatures came from the earth s bed. Their culture seems to be
naturalistic; they might have been farmers and herders because of their credence in
everything sprouting from the ground. Although both Native Americans and Africans
conjectures were relatively different, they did share one comparison. They both were
monotheistic believing in one higher power assisting in the birth of mankind. Then
the earth was created by them. So it was, in truth, that they created the earth. Earth!
...they said, and instantly it was made. (From the Popol Vuh pg.14) This presumption
of creation came from the Mayans. They believed the forefathers the Creator, the
Maker, Tepeu, and Gucumatz whom were immortal, created the animals and the first
man. They thought that there was only a sky and a sea before the earth came about.
There was nothing standing; only the calm water, the placid sea, alone and tranquil.
Nothing existed. (From the Popol Vuh pg.14) This folk tale suggests that the Mayans
believed in more than one higher power. They assumed the civilization
Attitudes And Perceptions Of Immigrants
Attitudes and Perceptions of Immigrants Immigrants have always been the
backbone of America and are responsible for the unprecedented success of the
country. As time has continued to move forward, society has also made it known
as to what is appropriate or inappropriate in regards to weight and style. The subject
of weight can be a very sensitive subject to discuss, especially when women, and
some men, are at the center of attention. Many individuals feel self conscious of
themselves when the discussion of weight is surfaced. Society, in particular the
American society, has placed emphasis on being a certain weight, and at the same
time viewing a person who is over a specific size as overweight and undesirable, as
well as having a low socioeconomic status (SES). In comparison to the American
society, in the African society, an individual s weight is viewed as being part of a
medium to high socioeconomic status in which they are able to purchase food,
unlike some who may be able to only receive the necessities to live. However, as
society continues to change, the idea of beauty is also changing. In the fashion
industry, a thin woman has always been seen walking the runway, or posing in
magazines or store ads; however, it has been called to many individuals attention
that most of these women are going to extreme measures to remain thin, such as
developing an eating disorder. Many individuals perceive overweight and obese
individuals as someone is lazy, or lack will

Treatment failure was defined as subsequent readmission for any form of
appendicitis, drainage of appendiceal abscess or appendectomy within 30 days of

Nazi Propaganda
Was the Great Depression was the catalyst for the growth of Nazi support?
The Great depression of 1030 left Germany s economy badly damaged. During the
early 1930s Germany experienced a time of economic downturn. Unemployment was
high and the economy was failing, many Germans could not even afford basic
necessities such as food. This essay shall discuss whether the Great Depression was
the catalyst for the growth of Nazi support. It is obvious that many Germans suffered
because of the depression. I personally feel that the Great Depression was the catalyst
for the growth in Nazi support because Germany had been badly damaged and
Germans wanted a strong leader, someone such as Hitler. However I feel there were

There were many other reasons and policies that gained the Nazis support. One of
the most important catalysts for the growth of Nazi support was Hitler himself.
Hitler was the Nazi s greatest campaigning asset. Hitler was a very powerful
speaker. He was years ahead of his time as a communicator. Hitler was the type of
leader that Germany needed and wanted. Hitler was able to appear to be a man of
the people, someone who knew and understood the people and their problems. Hitler
was the Nazi s trump card. The opposition had no one to match him.
Propaganda was another reason why Nazi support grew. Dr Joseph Goebbels was
the minister for Enlightenment and propaganda. Goebbels was a very clever man
and knew how to gain support; he was also very loyal to Hitler. He used every
resource available to him to make people loyal to Hitler and the Nazis. Goebbels
organized huge rallies. The rallies brought some colour and excitement to people s
lives. They gave them a sense of belonging to a great movement. The rallies also
showed the German people the power of the state and convinced them that every
other German supported the Nazis. The Nazis used every trick in the book to get
their message home. The Nazis knew that their anti communist stance was very
popular and their propaganda further whipped up fear and hatred of the communists.
The Nazis were also very well organized; this was due to many Nazis
Education Is A Great Thing That Everyone Tries To Achieve
Education is a great thing that everyone tries to achieve for themselves and for their
children. The reason for this, is that when one has a great educational background, it
can lead to the person getting a better job, a better income, and a better chance to
provide for their family. Some, however might not get this opportunity or do not
realize the importance of a great educationuntil it is too late. The reasons a person
might not get a great education are numerous, and it can include they can t afford the
high cost that comes with getting a college education, don t have the time, or just
come from a poor family and feel that, they won t be accepted into these schools.

Policy is best defined as a statement by the government of what it intends to do such
as law, regulation, or decision about a specific problem (Birkland, 2016). This
definition about policy seems to say, that a policy tries to combat or resolve an
underlining problem that a community, or a certain section of a community is
dealing with at the current moment, with legislation. This is an important aspect of
our country because it allows for better results when something goes wrong, in that
the policy makers realize that something is not working, and would create policy in
order to correct the problem. A problem also has a unique definition, when it comes
to policy. A problem is defined as a usually undesirable situation that according to
people or interest groups that can be alleviated by government action (Birkland,
2016). The definition of a problem seems to suggest that the policy makers and the
government taking the necessary measures in order to solve the problem can mitigate
any problem. In this country s history, there have been many problems that the
government tried to resolve with many degrees of success. The Dream act was another
case of a major problem seen by many, which need to be resolved with quick
government action. After defining what a policy is, and what a problem is in a
general sense, we now need to look at what problem the Dream Act, is trying to
resolve in the first place. The main objective of the

Essay On Oskar Shindler
Oskar Schindler In April 28, 1908 in Zwittau, Moravia, a province of the Austro
Hungarian Monarchy, Oskar Schindler was born. Oskar was born to his father and
mother, Hans Schindler and Louisa Schindler. Additionally, he had a sister named
Elfriede Schindler. His father owned a farm machinery factory, and his mother was
a stay at home mom. As he grew up, Oskar received his education at a German
language school in Zwittau. As a teenager, Schindler worked under his father and
sold farm equipment for several years until 1928, when Oskar s father made Oskar
furious. Hans Schindler disapproved of Oskar marrying Emilie, the love of Oskar s

the main camp was to be closed as well as Schindler s factory. Schindler rushed to

Following another bribe to the SS soldiers, they allowed Schindler to make a list

Within this list were his past employees along with 450 other Jews. The new

German soldiers to enter the factory, and the soldiers were not allowed to kill any
Jewish employees without the consent of Oskar. Schindler and his wife provided
the workers with the necessities needed to live. Although there was high risk

The Main Reasons Behind The Enron Scandal
The ENRON Scandal is one of the most well known financial and ethical crisis
within American history. The main reason was the Agency problem as we will

The agency problem generally raises to the conflict of interest between organization

its capital through the business, while management is mainly interested in
maximizing and stabilizing its salaries and benefits without suffering or taking a
serious risk to them, they always want to be in the safe side and not engage or be in

Concussions In Professional Sports
Concussion ratings have went up in many sports and many people are trying to
change that. Every player wants to play the sport they love as long as they can but
you can t play sports with brain injuries. Many players don t think of concussions as

all athletes should not be able to play or practice when they have suffered from three

Some may argue that it is not up to the coach, team, or league to make the decision to

Democratization Of Latin America And Eastern Europe
1.Despite the democratization movements in Latin America and Eastern Europe in
1980s and 90s, Middle Eastern authoritarian regimes proved to be resilient. Despite
the recent Arab Spring protests, most Middle Eastern nations live under authoritarian
regimes. How do these authoritarian regimes survive for so long? What are the
factors that contribute to their longevity?
Most Eastern European countries that were part of the Eastern bloc, after the fall of
the Berlin Wall began the transition process started by the changes in social system
and started to connect into the European Union. Although some of these states
essentially have not changed, however, public discourse is certainly different, the
market has been liberalized, and states such as Romania and Bulgaria are even
members of the European Union.
In the Middle East the situation is totally different. Rulers of the dynasties, kings, in
this part of the world ruled for decades and there are no indications that the situation
might change. Some of them not even the Arab spring (which was simulated process
of social change) has managed to waver. This primarily refers to the rulers of Saudi
Arabia, Qatar and the Emirates.
The question is what are the factors that influence both durable and firm power? The
first reason is certainly an authoritative stance that rulers occupy which is almost the
dictatorship and sometimes even exceeds borders of the dictatorship. We only have
to remember the massacre in Hama, Syria in 1982.
Anthrax Synthesis
What Makes Anthrax a Powerful Biological Weapon? There are numerous
biological agents that can be utilized to achieve bioterrorism goals. Anthrax in
particular, is an ideal biological organism of choice for offensive use. The anthrax
bacterium known as, Bacillus anthracis, is a gram positive, spore forming, non
motile bacterium and the etiologic agent of anthrax (Goel, 2015). The spores of
the bacterium are what makes anthrax an attractive biological weapon of choice.
The spores are very resilient to withstand pressure, temperature, pH and ionizing
radiations and even have a half life of 100 years (Goel, 2015). The spores can also
survive in water, soil and on the surface for years (Goel, 2015). Due to the biology
of the spores, anthrax can survive for several decades in the environment (Goel,
2015) and can be quite the public health nuisance. The spores can even be
produced and purified and stored in a dry form that can remain viable for decades
(Goel, 2015). This dried form of anthrax was used in the 2001 anthrax attacks
against United States government officials (Barras Greub, 2014). This form of
anthrax can also be utilized for an aerosol... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These include: injection, cutaneous, ingestion and inhalation (Friebe, van der Goot,
F. G., BГјrgi, 2016). Contaminating cattle or food is a possibility for a biological
attack but typically the attackers strive for an aerosol weapon due to the lethality of
anthrax inhalation. Early diagnosis of inhalation anthrax is difficult because the
initial symptoms are similar to the flu and can easily be misdiagnosed. Early
detection is critical for treatment but unless the physicians are alert to the possibility
of anthrax, it can regrettably, be overlooked. Because of this, inhalation anthrax is
can remain undetected until it s too late (Goel, 2015). Therefore, anthrax is a disease
of particular biodefense and public health
Waltz With Bashir Analysis
I choose the quote by Norman McLaren about animation with a segment from Waltz
with Bashir starts from 35:50 to 37:31. Like McLaren s (1995) argument, animation
is not the art of drawings that move, but the art of movements that are drawn (p.62),
Waltz with Bashir is exactly corresponding with McLaren s opinion. The difference
that we could distinguish animationfrom a drawing is the movement in it. Therefore
what we really should look more into an animation are the moves instead of the
frames.
Waltz with Bashir gives a hard time to the critics that whether it counts as an
animation or a documentary. The reason for this confusion is the amount of reality it
contains, not only within the frames, but also within the movement each character
has and between each frame, because what happens between each frame is much
more important than what exists on each frame (McLaren, 1995, p.26). How it
moves is much more than what is moving. When McLaren (1995) says, animation is
therefore the art of manipulating the invisible interstices that lie between frames
(p.26), again, he emphasize on the importance of the style, the structure, the pace and
rhythm of the movements in animation everything except for the things on each
frame. If we could follow McLaren s instruction, we will easily see how Waltz with
Bashir develops in a both realistic and cruel but also artistic and abstract way.
The segment begins with Roni Dayag standing under a tree with his monologue
saying: I felt guilty
The Human Function Argument Essay
The Human Function Argument
Aristotle argues that the human function is activity of the soul that expresses or
requires reason. This argument is found in Nicomachean Ethics approximately
between Bekker lines 1097b24 and 1098a9.
1. Humans must have a function, or else they would be idle, which is absurd. Aristotle
directly asks the reader if humans might have no important overall function other than
a chosen occupation in society but suggests that this would not be expected of nature.
Terence Irwin used the word idle in his 1985 translation when phrasing this disjunct
of Aristotle?s question.
2. Each human body part has a function, so the whole human must likewise have a
function. This premise appears parallel to Aristotle?s ... Show more content on

Aristotle presents a short analysis of the rational part of the soul, dividing it into two
parts, a part that uses reason and a part that obeys reason. He sees life as supported
by activity and not just the capacity to do something.
8. Therefore, the human function is activity of the part of the soul that expresses or
requires reason. In seeking the human function, Aristotle has first shown that there is
a human function (1 and 2) and narrowed down the human features that may be a
function (3 through 7) before reaching his conclusion (8).
Aristotle has formulated an economical and clear argument, but the passage that
contains it fails to connect all the premises to other parts of the text to lend them
supporting arguments. Aristotle extended his approach of starting from what is
commonly believed to even this human function argument which is crucial to the
whole work. As a result, many readers may be left unconvinced.
The third, fourth, and fifth premises comprise a major questionable area. The third
premise, The human function is unique to only humans themselves, was indirectly
introduced as a goal in what Aristotle was looking for in terms of a function, without
explanation of why the human function must be unique. Does Aristotle think in
unsupported anthropocentric terms and feel it was not questionable to ascribe a
special function to humans? Or does Aristotle have an ecological view and think that

Introduction
quot;A code of professional ethics is a voluntary assumption of self discipline

a certified public accountant, they seek someone whom they can trust to do a good

Within this topic, the code mentions continuing improvement of the competence of
CPAs in all areas in which they engage. In fact, the requirements of competence are
established by law. If a man renders a service he is not familiar with, he commits a
fraud on the public (However, CPAs are supposed in a reasonable manner to carry
this principle beyond). The code of ethics assumes that in situations where CPAs face
a problem he/she is not familiar with, they may ask other practitioners for help. A
CPA may drop the case only when his/her efforts prove to be futile. From the other
standpoint, there are always unknowns in every profession. Thus, to assume that
every practitioner is completely knowledgeable would be inaccurate.
Responsibilities to Clients include CPAs maintaining their independence, integrity
and objectivity regardless of any personal interest that previously exists. CPAs should
hold in confidence, all the information about their clients which they acquire during
engagements. However the Code states that CPAs should insist on disclosing in
financial reports, all information necessary for the fair presentation of the clients
affairs.
The accountancy laws in some states of the USA contain provisions which do not
require disclosing information obtained during engagement by accountant in any
court. These clauses directly interfere with federal jurisdiction. Federal
Functionalist Perspective On Suicide
The topic of suicide can easily become uncomfortable when discussing. Thoughts
of family or friends using a permanent solution to a temporary problem is hard to
grasp. Why would an individual choose to do this? Did it stem from personal reasons
or was it fueled by a number of out siding factors. Using Sociologywe can decipher
human behavior and gain an insight into a global issue .
By applying the functionalist perspective to the issue of suicide, we will highlight the
importance of shared social morals and bonds. When rapid social change or other
disruptive conditions occur, moral values may erode, and people may become more
uncertain about how to act and about whether or not their life has meaning (Kendall ,

The LGTBQ+ community are faced with homophobia, discrimination, and increased
victimization; social movements have led to the adaptation of Canadian legislation
and the creation of specialized police units in order to recognize and accommodate
the unique needs of the queer community.
Definition
The LGBTQ+ community faces various internal and external issues. The acronym
for their community is joked to be called alphabet soup , but each letter in the
acronym represents a unique group of people. Dr. J Henderson, a professor at Mount
Royal University, breaks down the acronym to include those who identify as lesbian,
gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer, and the plus aiming to include anyone who
identifies outside of societal gender or sexuality norms, such as asexual or pansexual
(personal communication, January 11, 2016).
Issues
Everyone is affected by different issues with the justice system, but there are a variety
of specific issues that many LGBTQ+ members are faced with such as homophobia,
discrimination, and increased victimization.
Homophobia
The term homophobia was first used in the late 1960 s by psychologist George
Weinberg to label heterosexuals dread of being in close quarters with homosexuals as
well as homosexuals self loathing (Herek, 2012, para. 2). Homophobia in itself is not
always detrimental, but is usually a tool that fuels discrimination and victimization.

people undoubtedly oppose and agree to most extent that the theme of immortality is
clearly portrayed towards Truman and doesn t create the perfect environment
throughout the lives of two main characters; Truman s wife, Meryl and the shows

Christof is a crucial example of the immorality which represented throughout the film

to the viewers of the show. This is established when Christof organises the dramatic

Concrete Cube Compressive Strength
Experiment No : 5 Title : Concrete Cube Compressive Strength (7 days) Introduction :
To determine the strength, maximum load can be applied and workability of concrete
mixture.
Theory :
Hard concrete test were conducted at the age of 3, 7, 14, 21 and 28 days after
curing(but we tested it for 7 days only). The concrete strength increases according to
the age,the mixture of its concrete design and the strength increment will continue for
sometimes. Nevertheless, for most of the work, the concrete strength on the 28 days
is set as standard even though it might be determined at a much earlier or longer
period. The increment rate of the concrete strength will depend on the temperature
and moisture during hardening process.
Objective ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another reason why cube test is carried out is to measure the workability of
concrete. The workability of the fresh concrete shall be judged by its suitability for
the condition of handling and placing so that after compaction, it surround all,
reinforcement, tendons and ducts and completely fills the formwork. Our cube
strength can withstand the maximum load only at 319.78 kN(cube sample no. 3)
this is because in our mixture of concrete, volume of water is higher so that our
strength of concrete is lower. To get higher strength of concrete, volume of water
must reduced. Problem of concrete we need to face is segregation and bleeding.
Another problem is shrinkage, expansion, cracking, tension cracking and so on.

Comparison of Leadership Styles for Cadbury and Kraft
The pre hostile acquisition of Cadbury by Kraft Foods
Compare and contrast the preferred styles of Irene Rosenfeld and Todd Stitzer in the
context of the pre hostile acquisition of Cadbury by Kraft Foods. You should apply
appropriate management and leadership theories to support your arguments.
Consider first Irene Rosenfeld s leadership Style.
By referring to Hersey s model of situational leadership model adapted by JE
Chamberlain from Mullins (2007:302) and Hersey et al (2000) followed on from a
number of previous writes to develop the model of situational leadership.

The degree of influence exerted often depends on how much time and effort is
expended in getting support. This tends to work best when objectives are shared, but
staff are unclear about how the objective is to be achieved. They know, but are
uncertain about the how.
(Profex 44) Authoritarian/directive tells style. Rosenfeld appears authoritarian:
making decision and issuing instructions without apparent consultation in top down
leadership contexts.
* Leadership styles (Belbin) * Solo leader * Rules in an autocratic manner * Is
directive tells subordinates what to do * Expects compliance from staff and often
leads from the front * Effective in times of crisis * If they fail, can have serious
consequences * Mgmt. by objectives makes it clear exactly what everyone is
supposed to do * Team leader * More participative and structured manner * Consult *
Delegate * Trust * Creates mission helps clarify the vision which others act on as
they think best
(Profex 44) Strategic leadership style. Rosenfeld arguably adopts the strategy
approach (taking personal responsibility for formulating strategic plans and
articulating mission (from Johnson amp; Scholes) (15, line 39) My slogan was, lets

Creation Myths
Creation myths are the most common form of mythology throughout most of the
ancient cultures of the world and evolved from first an oral history passed on to the
next generation ending with multiple versions. Mythologists have categorized these
mythologies from the various and numerous ancient cultures into five types, which
include Ex Nihilo, Creation from Chaos, World Parent, Emergence and Earth Diver.
The creation myth Ex Nihilo, which means out of nothing explains how the world
along with mankind were created by a creators speech, during a dream, wheb they
gave the breath of live or their just their thoughts. All of these methods can be found
as the creation stories from the ancient cultures that lived in Africa, Mesopotamia and
Asia... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Avesta tells how their supreme god named Ahura Mazda, also know as Ormazd,
creates the Earth, trees, plants, animals and mankind in the course of six periods with
each period lasting 3,000 years. In the beginning, nothing else existed except for
Ahura Mazda who lives in Endless Light.
Most of the modern biblical scholars believe that there are clearly two versions of
the creation story that exist in the chapters of Genesis 1 through 3 in the Old
Testament. These versions appear to come from three different authors or groups
of authors called the Jahwist source, the Priestly sources and the Redactor source.
Written by the Priestly source, around 450BC, the first version begins in Genesis
1:1 31 and ends in Genesis 2:1 3. Next, the Jahwist source writes the second version
in Genesis 2:4 25, around 950BC, with additional verses written, around 750 to
400BC, by the Redactor source. With all of these dates in mind, it would then
appear that the first version in Genesis 1 was written at a later date than Genesis 2
resulting with the version from Genesis 2 being the first version. Also, notice the
differences between the 2 versions such as in Genesis 1 where the focus is on the
entire universe, whereas, in Genesis 2 the focus is on the creation of man and his
environment.
Color Dash Marketing Plan
Goals
Our goals of the marketing proposal will be to attract more participants for the color
run and also attract companies that will sponsor the run. The more dashers that
participate in the run will lead to more money raised for the special needs gym class
at Burlington Township High School. With the help of companies sponsoring the run
it will help decrease the cost the school has to put out for the run. The expenses that
the sponsors will cover will be the cost of police, water, and the color. It is
important that we raise money with the help of sponsors because it will give more
money to the gyms for the special needs.
Benchmarks and Measures

These strategies will help the people of the community and others to find out the
information about the race. With these three ways of promotion it will secure a good
amount of participants for the color dash and help accomplish our goals. Tactics
To bring these strategies to life, we will flood social media with information and ads
about the race, to get people interested. Social media mostly attracts our younger
audience, whereas the newspaper will attract older dashers. The newspaper ad will
give clear information, and also persuade readers. With individual interaction, any
questions about the race can be answered immediately, and persuasion can be used to
attract more dashers. Resources
In order to implement this plan, we will need sponsors for the booths and stations,
volunteers to help set up and break down the run, police support, and money to buy
supplies for the race. If we cannot get a water sponsor, we will need to buy at least
two waters for each dasher. This will be costly, so our goal is to have a sponsor either
provide the water or provide money for it. As for the color, we will need to purchase
the color needed, unless we are sponsored by a
Experiment Synthesis Essay
The project s hypothesis is: if the type of biomass is vegetable peels then the
amount of biogas produced will increase. This project tests the amount of biogas
produced when cow manure is combined with different types of biomass (in this
case, mashed bananas and vegetable peelings). It is an interesting project because
studying how biogas is produced, it is possible to see how this chemical reaction
happens. Biogas can be used for cooking, heating, and after going through a
transformation process it could be even used as fuel. If studied more, biogas could
have more functions. When choosing this experiment the hopes were to find out
what types of things easily found can increase the production of biogas, and how
could it be produced. Cows... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
And when the bananas were mixed with the cow manure (that also produces gas
by itself), the amount of gas produced was a lot bigger than the other options. The
predicted results were for the vegetable peelings + cow manure balloon would turn
out to be bigger at the end of the experiment , but the bananas combined with the
manure produced more gas than the expected. If repeated, the changes made
would be the place where the experiment happened and the type of bottles used.
The bottles used had drawings all over its surface, which made it hard to look at
what was going on, and placed (at the porch) where it had the risk of being dropped
because of the wind/any other natural causes or even because of people that could
walk by and drop it if not paying attention. The data does not support the hypothesis,
since the products that produced more biogas were not the vegetable peelings and
the cow manure. The average difference between the vegetable peelings
(approximately 0.6 cm) and the mashed bananas (approximately 2.5 cm) were 1.9 cm

Esther
Subject/Theme of Esther: God will bless the people abundantly for the prayers
and good deeds of His elect people.
While there are many hidden intents of thought in the book of Esther I affirm that the
strongest theme in the book of the Bible is that of God s providence.
We continuously see in the book of Esther God s grace shown towards those who
call on Him. God sets Esther on the throne as queen, saves Mordecai from Haman s
anger and saves the entire nation of Israel from Haman.
All the same, we see the people fasting before God for three days, we see salvation in
the nation of Israel as well as them praying and ... Show more content on

The results of Esther were so significant for Israel that they started the Feast of
Purim, which is still celebrated to this day among the people of Israel. We should
work as if it all depends on us, and pray because it all depends on God.
Five Spiritual Applications From Esther:
1: Trust in God No Matter What the Circumstances Are:
2: Take Action knowing that with the Lord on your side, you are unstoppable. Real
faith is active and not passive.
3: Pray, Pray, Pray. God says to pray without ceasing and without faith it is impossible
to please God, because He is a rewarder who diligently seeks Him.
4: Do not Compromise your Faith for any Reason. Faith without works is dead!
5: Celebration and Feasting Should take Place after a Victory. When the Prodigal son
returned, his Father killed the fatted calf and held a party!
Extensive Outline of Esther:
A: Esther becomes Queen (Chapt 1 amp; 2) 1: Vashti displeases Ahasuerus 2: Esther
finds favor 3: Esther is chosen
B: Mordecai s role (Chapt 2 amp; 3) 1: Guardian of Esther 2: Discovers a plot against

C: Esther and the King (Chapt 4 amp; 5) 1: Hears of plan to destroy Jews 2: Asks for

Reflection Paper On My Diet
Summary I had such an unhealthy diet before but my diet has changed since I
made a few plans for the Journal #1. And I was pretty good to keep it until when I
just finished the Journal #2. Most of them are going pretty well still now too but
recently I have something wrong on my diet again. Even if I did not plan such a
big thing, to keep everything that I planned was a little difficult because I had
been having the unhealthy diet for a pretty long time which means it takes time to
change my old habits. I just realized that I am getting to return to my old habit and
I have to plan again to improve it. Challenges I realized that I am getting to return
to my old diet habits and I was thinking about what cause that. And I think the
reason could be my schedule of the school because I realized that I usually take
food at home or school and I do not take an instant food at home anymore. It means
the school is the only place that I take food except for home. One of my challenges
that I made was that taking a breakfast and I still keep that because I could buy
homemade Korean food that composed of a light soup with a few side dishes
which are very healthy food for every week. But at the school, I always have two
classes that from 8 or 9 a.m. to around 3 or 4 p.m. during the weekdays and I should
take a lunch at school. But, in the school I do not have many choices for food. So, I
just take food for satiety and I cannot digest well and it also cause that I take dinner
at late night.
Mercury Burning Of Mina Research Paper
It has been almost 60 years since the most horrific mercury poisoning disaster the
world has ever seen took place in Minamata, Japan. On May 1956, four patients
from the city of Minamata were admitted to the hospital with similar severe baffling
symptoms. They all suffered from high fever, convulsions, loss of consciousness,
and finally death. Soon afterward, 13 other patients from a neighboring fishing
village near Minamata suffered the same symptoms and also died ( Juan, 2006). As
time went on more and more people became ill and died. It was finally determined
that the cause was mercury poisoning that was dumped into the Minamata bay on a
massive scale by a chemical plant. The mercury contaminated the water and fish. The
people ate the fish

Examine Eliot s treatment of women in Prufrock, Preludes,...
Examine Eliot s treatment of women in Prufrock, Preludes, Portrait of a Lady and
Rhapsody on a Windy Night
In all four of the poems; Prufrock , Preludes , Portrait of a
Lady and Rhapsody on a Windy Night , Eliot makes references to women. Eliot
seems to treat women almost as objects to either be looked at with wonder and, at
times, fascination or as objects to be scorned upon. In all of the poems Eliot makes
the voice of the poem slightly distanced from the women and this, to me, makes the
women seem almost untouchable.
When looking at the poem Prufrock we must first notice that the full title is The
Love Song of J.Alfred Prufrock. This title seems almost ironic as, after reading the
poem, we realise that the poem ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Portrait of a
Lady has a very dramatic structure a one sided dialogue, in which the lady speaks
and her visitor silently comments ably shows us
Eliot s clear views in this poem about women, and in Portrait of a
Lady the tone suggests that he feels women are false note(s). The dialogue of the
woman is very pretentious with lines such as So intimate, this Chopin, that I think his
soul / Should be resurrected only among friends and Without these friendships life,
what cauchemar! By having the lady speak French Eliot suggests that he perceives
this woman to be trying too hard and this makes us think of the woman as if she is
putting on a mask rather than being herself; this is one of the main themes which is
interwoven into Eliot s poetry. The poem Preludes portrays women in a very different
light to
Prufrock and Portrait of a Lady . In Preludes Eliot draws influence from Baudelaire
who wrote about the more sordid aspects of the modern metropolis, and it would
seem that in Preludes women can almost be included in these sordid aspects. Eliot
talks about a woman in the third stanza of the poem, and it would appear that the
woman is a prostitute. Writing about a prostitute, he presents to us a more sordid
side of women. In Preludes , Eliot s view is almost degrading and at times Eliot
presents an ashamed tone when he says

Cremation Ring Research Paper
Blog 4: Cremation Ring
Cremation jewelry isn t exactly a hot topic for dinner conversation. Humans find it
unpleasant to even think about death. However, one conversation couples need to
have is how each partner prefers to be interred. In the same vein, adult children must
know their parents desires. It s also essential for parents to plan for the demise of a
child.
Cremation is a viable option these days, as it does not impose such a financial burden
upon survivors. But, it does bring up the question of what to do with the ashes.
When you are in the moment, immediately following the death of your loved one, you
won t have the time or necessary inspiration to make a decision about their cremains.
As long as the cremated remains are in your possession, it s never too late to explore

This cremation ring looks like any piece of jewelry and is available in various sizes.
Since it is embellished with brilliant cubic zirconias, it would make a discreet

It is also reminiscent of a mother s ring, making the Path to Heaven Sterling Silver
Cremation Ring a repository of precious memories shared between parent and child.
Cremation rings are special as there is a tiny vault hidden in the band for storing a

The ring isn t cumbersome to wear and doesn t feel weighty on your finger. Whether
you select the sterling silver or 14k gold band, expect to receive compliments on this
gorgeous symbol of love you have chosen. You may further personalize your

Turning Men Into Fishing Is A Popular Past Time All

World Religions

Turning Men into Fishermen Fishing is a popular past time all around the world. It
has been around for many centuries, and has influenced and shaped many societies
and cultures. One popular religion that fishing has a major impact on is Christianity. It
is obvious that fishing is prominent in the Christian religion by looking at the famous
Christian symbol, the Jesus fish. On many American cars one may find this very
simple depiction of a fish on the back bumper. Another influence that fishing has in
Christianity is the teachings in the bible. Many biblical stories are written and
teach life lessons through the technique of fishing. Not only did Jesus want his
disciples to be fisher of men, but he also did the majority of his sermons in a boat.
Fishing plays a huge role in the Christian community and throughout time has
shaped it into the religion that it is today. The Jesus fish symbol is a fish made out
of two simple lines that cross in the back. It is a simple drawing yet carries so much
meaning in the Christian community. The X shaped cross in the tail is supposed to
represent the crucifix that Jesus died for the human sins on. The X also translates
into the Greek word Christ (Edmondson, 57). The Jesus fish is often referred to as
Ichthys, which is the first letters of five Greek words that make up the word fish
(Hassett). Those five Greek words are Jesus Christ, Son of God, Savior . Christians

The Theme Of David Lurie s Disgrace
Mystery creates wonder and wonder is the basis of man s desire to understand.
(Armstrong). This famous quote by Neil Armstrong allows us to know what
Melanie Issacs story is about. She strikes as a mysterious, soft spoken woman with
a mind that can tear a man apart. David Lurie, Melanie s professor falls for her
mystery and in fact, becomes borderline obsessed with his desire for her. In the book
Disgrace, Melanie s complex character not only drives the overall theme of disgrace
forward, but exemplifies how feelings of shame can be hidden and indirectly affect
others. Melanie Issacs is a blooming petite, soft spoken, and beautiful free spirited
woman under David Lurie s tutelage at Cape Technical University. During the novel,

J.M Coetzee then describes his initial thoughts, What game is she playing? He
should be wary, no doubt about that. But he should have been wary from the start
which shows that this is now more than just a one time thing, she has come to his
house asking for comfort, but even David is unsure. After multiple attempts to
figure out what it is that is bothering her, she consistently refuses and tells him she
will explain at a later time. This again shows her secretive side to David that she
may be hiding something, but his desire for her continues to be stronger than any
worry he may have. Melanie s feelings of shame and disgrace help to shape the
direction of Disgrace, leading up to David feeling disgrace because of his desire for
her.
Throughout the novel Disgrace, Melanie Issacs and David Lurie have many
encounters that provide extensive detail on the feelings and events that occurred
amongst themselves. David first notices Melanie on his trip home through the
university gardens and proceeds to invite her to his home for wine and cheese. He
then continues to pursue Melanie by acquiring her address and phone number from
the University s records. Early on in the novel it appears apparent how fascinated
David becomes of his young student in just the few encounters they have. Melanie
remains passive and falls for his sweet talk to become sexually engaged with him.

  • 1. Argument Essay Examples Crafting an essay on the topic of "Argument Essay Examples" can be both challenging and rewarding. On one hand, the abundance of information available may seem like a boon, providing ample material for analysis and discussion. However, navigating through this sea of examples to extract relevant and compelling arguments requires a keen analytical mind and a discerning eye. One of the challenges lies in striking the right balance between presenting diverse examples and maintaining a coherent and focused argument. It's easy to get lost in the plethora of examples, losing sight of the overarching message one intends to convey. Additionally, selecting examples that effectively support the thesis while avoiding redundancy demands careful consideration. Moreover, the process involves delving into the nuances of various arguments, critically evaluating their validity, and presenting a well-rounded perspective. This requires a comprehensive understanding of the topic, as well as the ability to weigh the strengths and weaknesses of different arguments. The challenge extends to the task of organizing the essay in a logical and compelling manner. Crafting a strong introduction that captivates the reader's attention, developing a solid thesis statement, and structuring the body paragraphs to flow seamlessly from one point to the next are integral components of an effective argumentative essay. Furthermore, the task of integrating counterarguments and addressing potential objections adds another layer of complexity. Striking the right balance between presenting opposing viewpoints and reinforcing one's own argument without appearing biased requires finesse. In conclusion, while the process of writing an essay on "Argument Essay Examples" can be daunting, it is also an opportunity for intellectual growth and expression. Navigating through the complexities of argumentation, selecting relevant examples, and presenting a cohesive narrative demand careful thought and attention. Ultimately, the difficulty lies in the pursuit of clarity and persuasiveness amidst a myriad of examples and counterarguments. In addition to making columns, two of the dancers brought full buckets of water on the stage. During this scene, the movement to me felt as if Samad was improvising in a puddle of water. Watching him I was curious to see what could happen next within his movement. This movement consisted of rolling around and using the lower level as he would transition to standing and falling back down. While the other dancers entered the stage, the movement seemed indirect and used a great amount of different stage space as most of the movement was an improvisation that incorporated bringing different individuals styles into the
  • 3. Women And Women s Role Of Women In Advertisements For as long as advertisements have existed, gender displays have been used to establish the role of one gender with relation to the opposite gender. Men and women are depicted differently in advertisements as men have a more dominant, active pose whereas women have a more submissive yet sexy allure. Perfume marketers use this tactic to lure potential buyers into purchasing a fragrance. To promote their product, companies use erotic images to appeal to the abstract idea of desire. The degree of sexualization depends heavily on the model in the perfume advertisement but women are almost always sexualized to a higher degree than men. In some cases, there are images of women promoting perfume where they are not scantily clad but rather portray a sense of youthfulness and independence. The women in these advertisements are usually recognized celebrities and because of their fame, they portray their own identities in perfume advertisements. Due to their status in society and media, prominent and more recognized women have more powerful poses in perfume advertisements which compare closer to a man s perfume advertisement. Rather than being depicted as a meek womanwhose sole purpose is to please men, they show that they do not need to depend on a man, but they can do things for themselves. In Susan Bordo s text Beauty (Re)discovers the Male Body, Bordo talks about the fact that women have been overly sexualized in advertisements for many years but the moment that men are

Coco Movie Analysis COCO THE PIXAR MOVIE Many Mexican cultural families are familiar with the holiday Dia de los Muertos and celebrate it joyfully, but to others it may seem to be scary like Halloween. Dia de los Muertos is a holiday that Mexican families celebrate life and the memories of those no longer with us to help support their spiritual journey to the other side. COCO is a movie that takes the audience thru that holiday experience, reviews regarding the new film, In Coco , DeathIs the Point written by Monica Castillo of the New York Times, December 8, 2017 and Coco (2017) written by Matt Zoller Seitz, November 21, 2017 www.rogerbert.com. The new film COCO is a story about a young boy named Miguel Riviera (voice by Anthony Gonzalez). Directed by Lee Unkrich( Toy Story 3) and veteran Pixar animator Adrian Molina), lives in a small town in Mexico. He idolizes a popular singer songwriter, Enersto de la Cruz and wishes to be just like him. There is a beautiful feeling of how the storyline expresses the situations
  • 5. Adoption Of A Foster Home Needs A Family Alexander Douglass Period 5 Ms.Garner Adoption One of the biggest issues we have today is that people don t know what some kids have to go through when there parents give them up or they have a single mother and she can not take care of them. Many children around the world are either alone or in a foster home looking for some kind of miracle someone would find them and love them and expect them into their family as one of them. Many parents, soon to be parents, or people who wanna become some kind of parent needs to know that some kid in a foster home needs a family. Adoption is an alternative way to have a family; it is a lifetime decision that should be made very cautiously. Adoption is a process where parents are supplied for children whose biological parents are deceased, or for those children whose biological parents are unable or unwilling to provide for their care. Adoption creates a parent child relationship recognized for all purposes including: child support obligations, inheritance rights and custody Вќ(Aigner p 10). The children are provided for childless couples or individuals interested in becoming parents. According to Dr. Ruth Mc. Roy at the UT School of Social work, there are approximately 5,000,000 US births each year. Out of that approximation 118,000 are adoptions. Вќ Adoption is traced back to the bible. It is known that the Pharaoh s wife adopted Moses, and Jesus was even adopted by Joseph. Adoption even goes as far back as

He didn t have much energy left, so he went and laid down in the snow. Hungry as a horse, he was getting very weak. As he was falling asleep he heard something coming. It was the ant. The ant had seen him digging for food and decided to come and help him. Ant helped him back to his den and gave Grasshopper some of his food. After they had eaten they, Ant and Grasshopper went for a walk. Grasshopper said, Thank you so much for the food. If you hadn t come along I probably would have died. Ant replied, I could just let you starve to death, but you had to learn a lesson. • 7. Between A Rock And A Hard Place 24 Hours Analysis Aron Ralston, the author of Between a Rock and a Hard Place creates a very notable portrait of himself just within the first few pages of the novel. Ralston presents himself to be tenacious, bold, and a relatively experienced outdoorsman. Ralston describes a faulty trial of climbing, I m committed to my course; there s no going back (Ralston 20). This quote shows how determined Ralston is to his mission, the hiking trip. It becomes clear that Ralston values nature as he is so committed to this trip. Ralston ponders, Some other marvelous force is in control, and has been all along (Ralston 247). Ralston believes in some greater being that controls life. This says a lot about his character as he can believe in something he cannot feel, hear or see. The wildernessis not new to Ralston, as he s been mountain climbing, hiking, skiing, as well participating in many other outdoor activities for years before his near death experience. Ralston exclaims, Saying farewell is also a bold and powerful beginning (Ralston 342). When Ralston was reaching the end in the fight for his life, he began... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I believe Ralston s writing style is very unique, it s heartfelt and sincere. Ralston experienced so much within the course of several days, and he turned it into 354 pages of brutal honesty. His tone shifted throughout different occurrences in the book. I believe Ralston s primary tone in Between a Rock and a Hard Place was very intimate. Ralston is sharing his near death experience, the thoughts racing through his brain, and the actions he took to survive. Ralston s honesty and sincerity helped create the intimate tone of this novel. Ralston questions himself, You think you re done? How about all of those people who care about you? How about all of those people who care about you? (Ralson 209). Ralston shared many of the thoughts that helped him fight for his life, but he also shared many details of his injuries and how he survived which helped create the tone of the
  • 8. Combating Worker Injustices During in the Late 19th Century Workers in the late 19th century were treated unfairly the majority of the time. They worked in unsafe conditions for meager pay. Young children joined the workforce to help support their families. Most of the workers during this period were just thankful to earn a living, so they rarely complained about their working conditions. All of these factors spurred the creation of labor unions during the 19th century. The Knights of Labor, the American Federation of Labor, and the Industrial Workers of the World were just a few of the unions established during this time. The Knights of Labor was founded in 1869 by Uriah S. Stephens. This union grew slowly, but managed to spread more rapidly even during the depression of the 1870s. Some of the working stipulations that this union imposed were elimination of convict labor competition, eight hour workdays, guarantee of salaries, and the use of paper currency. They also wanted equal pay for both men and women, which was a first during those times. A big achievement for the Knights of Labor was keeping children under fourteen out of the workforce. The Preamble to the Constitution of the Knights of Labor stated that, The prohibition of the employment of children in workshops, mines, and factories before attaining their fourteenth year. This allowed children to be children at least until their teenage years, without the worries that adults faced. The American Federation of Labor (AFL) was started in 1886. It was started
  • 9. Belief In Free Will In Milton s Paradise Lost By John Milton Belief in free will is the belief in self determination. Humanity exists with a philosophical principle that humans have specific control over individual choices; thus, are in control of their own destiny. Belief in free will gives validity and responsibility to one s own choices and life. Without this belief humans would lose part of their individualism and control. Actions would only be determined by external forces. Consequently, ideas on self worth, ethics, accountability, and societal relationships would be meaningless. Mankind needs to feel that multiple choices are available and obtainable. Writers during the 18th century focused on the ideas of free will. This determination was innate, yet factors within society and individuals that influenced this autonomy, such as social immorality. The ideas of self sovereignty have been examined through various sections of literature. Consequently, John Milton s Paradise Lost , William Shakespeares King Lear, and Mary Astell From Some Reflections upon Marriage examine free wills effect on humanity in relation to corruption, enslavement to desires, and dangers/benefits. Milton, Shakespeare, and Astell use written form to demonstrate that repercussion and vices of the idea of free will. Paradise Lost by John Milton, Satan has entered Paradise in the form a serpent. He tempts Eve with the fruit of the Forbidden Tree. Satan s appeals to Eve s idea that knowledge and understanding of human nature will be obtained. Eve s
  • 10. The Effects Of Gangster Rap And Appropriation Of The West... As N.W.A fell into the laps of the mainstream target audience: white, middle class, suburban males and their angst filled teens, more problems began to arise regarding the misconceptions of gangster rap and appropriation of the experience of black men in low income cities. Most of the rap that this demographic would hear on the radio was the lighter Pop Rap of MC Hammer and The Fresh Prince and Jazzy Jeff. According to GZA, the founder of the Wu Tang Clan, the label (Gangster Rap) was created by the media to limit what we can say. We just deliver the truth in a brutal fashion...They don t like that, so you hear ban this, ban that . We attack people s emotions. It s a real live show that brings out the inside in people . But many people outside the scene just associated it with the violent rivalry between the East Coast s Bad Boy Records and the West Coast s Death Row records that ultimately resulted in the mysterious murders of The Notorious B.I.G. and 2Pac. However, when Efil4zaggin hit number #1 on Billboard charts, the genre became more widely acknowledged and accepted by mainstream audiences. Although, in a general sense, Fuck Tha Policewas relatable to the Every Man in it s dissatisfaction with unfairness it cannot be separated completely from it s specific context. Although facing discrimination and brutality at the hands of cops was a common experience for minorities, suburban America still refused to believe that this bias was happening. This track

  • 13. Gender Roles And Social Issues In The Post-WWII Era Every post war era in United States history is composed of a period of social revolution. Ideas about gender roles and economic class change as the country attempts to redefine itself and its morals in the wake of a devastating conflict. Although the Great Depression was fifteen years removed from the First World War, social issues of the time resemble the same issues that were pertinent in the immediate post war era as well as American issues in the post WWII era. In a lot of ways, they are still the issues we are facing nearly a century later. Many women were forced to work during the war to supplement their husband s income while he was deployed overseas but when he returned, their help was no longer needed or desired. When the Great Depressionhit in 1929, women who were still in the workplace or who sought jobs so that they could feed their families faced accusations that their position in the workplace were preventing men from obtaining jobs for their families. When the Depression ended and the United States became involved in World War II, women were again forced to work to supplement their husbands income, and yet again expected to leave the workforce when men returned home from war. During the time period from 1932 1945, social issues were addressed in film as both a moral boost during hard times and a criticism of society. Gold Diggers of 1933 (1933) boosted the moral of moviegoers during the Great Depression with its flashy costumes and dreams of being in the

The Myths of Creation When the modern person ponders the formation of human beings, our mind automatically goes to Adam and Eve, whom were the first man and woman created by God according to the Book of Genesis. Before there was Adam and Eve, diverse cultures came up with myths about the construction of humans. These myths included: The Song of Creation from the Rig Veda, An African Creation Tale, From the Popol Vuh, and A Native American Creation Tale How Man Was Created Each one of these legends gives a diverse perspective on the creation of humanbeings. The Africans believed that Unkulunkulu was the earliest man to subsist. They said he came from the beds of reeds from the ground and brought along the plants and animals with him. An African Creation Tale suggests all living creatures came from the earth s bed. Their culture seems to be naturalistic; they might have been farmers and herders because of their credence in everything sprouting from the ground. Although both Native Americans and Africans conjectures were relatively different, they did share one comparison. They both were monotheistic believing in one higher power assisting in the birth of mankind. Then the earth was created by them. So it was, in truth, that they created the earth. Earth! ...they said, and instantly it was made. (From the Popol Vuh pg.14) This presumption of creation came from the Mayans. They believed the forefathers the Creator, the Maker, Tepeu, and Gucumatz whom were immortal, created the animals and the first man. They thought that there was only a sky and a sea before the earth came about. There was nothing standing; only the calm water, the placid sea, alone and tranquil. Nothing existed. (From the Popol Vuh pg.14) This folk tale suggests that the Mayans believed in more than one higher power. They assumed the civilization
  • 16. Attitudes And Perceptions Of Immigrants Attitudes and Perceptions of Immigrants Immigrants have always been the backbone of America and are responsible for the unprecedented success of the country. As time has continued to move forward, society has also made it known as to what is appropriate or inappropriate in regards to weight and style. The subject of weight can be a very sensitive subject to discuss, especially when women, and some men, are at the center of attention. Many individuals feel self conscious of themselves when the discussion of weight is surfaced. Society, in particular the American society, has placed emphasis on being a certain weight, and at the same time viewing a person who is over a specific size as overweight and undesirable, as well as having a low socioeconomic status (SES). Despite the recent Arab Spring protests, most Middle Eastern nations live under authoritarian regimes. How do these authoritarian regimes survive for so long? What are the factors that contribute to their longevity? Most Eastern European countries that were part of the Eastern bloc, after the fall of the Berlin Wall began the transition process started by the changes in social system and started to connect into the European Union. Although some of these states essentially have not changed, however, public discourse is certainly different, the market has been liberalized, and states such as Romania and Bulgaria are even members of the European Union. In the Middle East the situation is totally different. Rulers of the dynasties, kings, in this part of the world ruled for decades and there are no indications that the situation might change. Some of them not even the Arab spring (which was simulated process of social change) has managed to waver. This primarily refers to the rulers of Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the Emirates. • 30. Anthrax Synthesis What Makes Anthrax a Powerful Biological Weapon? There are numerous biological agents that can be utilized to achieve bioterrorism goals. Anthrax in particular, is an ideal biological organism of choice for offensive use. The anthrax bacterium known as, Bacillus anthracis, is a gram positive, spore forming, non motile bacterium and the etiologic agent of anthrax (Goel, 2015). The spores of the bacterium are what makes anthrax an attractive biological weapon of choice. • 31. Waltz With Bashir Analysis I choose the quote by Norman McLaren about animation with a segment from Waltz with Bashir starts from 35:50 to 37:31. Like McLaren s (1995) argument, animation is not the art of drawings that move, but the art of movements that are drawn (p.62), Waltz with Bashir is exactly corresponding with McLaren s opinion. The difference that we could distinguish animationfrom a drawing is the movement in it. Therefore what we really should look more into an animation are the moves instead of the frames. Waltz with Bashir gives a hard time to the critics that whether it counts as an animation or a documentary. The reason for this confusion is the amount of reality it contains, not only within the frames, but also within the movement each character has and between each frame, because what happens between each frame is much more important than what exists on each frame (McLaren, 1995, p.26). How it moves is much more than what is moving. When McLaren (1995) says, animation is therefore the art of manipulating the invisible interstices that lie between frames (p.26), again, he emphasize on the importance of the style, the structure, the pace and rhythm of the movements in animation everything except for the things on each frame. If we could follow McLaren s instruction, we will easily see how Waltz with Bashir develops in a both realistic and cruel but also artistic and abstract way. The segment begins with Roni Dayag standing under a tree with his monologue saying: I felt guilty

This argument is found in Nicomachean Ethics approximately between Bekker lines 1097b24 and 1098a9. 1. Humans must have a function, or else they would be idle, which is absurd. Aristotle directly asks the reader if humans might have no important overall function other than a chosen occupation in society but suggests that this would not be expected of nature. Aristotle presents a short analysis of the rational part of the soul, dividing it into two parts, a part that uses reason and a part that obeys reason. He sees life as supported by activity and not just the capacity to do something. 8. Therefore, the human function is activity of the part of the soul that expresses or requires reason. In seeking the human function, Aristotle has first shown that there is a human function (1 and 2) and narrowed down the human features that may be a function (3 through 7) before reaching his conclusion (8). Aristotle has formulated an economical and clear argument, but the passage that contains it fails to connect all the premises to other parts of the text to lend them supporting arguments. Aristotle extended his approach of starting from what is commonly believed to even this human function argument which is crucial to the whole work. As a result, many readers may be left unconvinced. The third, fourth, and fifth premises comprise a major questionable area. The third premise, The human function is unique to only humans themselves, was indirectly introduced as a goal in what Aristotle was looking for in terms of a function, without explanation of why the human function must be unique. Does Aristotle think in unsupported anthropocentric terms and feel it was not questionable to ascribe a special function to humans? Or does Aristotle have an ecological view and think that every

Sula Critical Theory Essay Looking through a Black Feminist Critical Lens, Toni Morrison s characters in Sula resemble Mary Helen Washington s definitions of African American female characters. Specifically, Sula, Nel, and Eva; Sula is a Liberated Woman, Nel is a Emergent Woman, and Eva as a Suspended woman. Sula is Morrison s main character and is a perfect example of a Liberated woman. According to Lois Tyson s definition of a Liberated Woman, Sula has discovered her abilities, knows what she needs, and goes about getting it. Along with all these activities, comes pride and independence. It began when Sula was younger as she had Nel, her best friend, by her side. Homophobia in itself is not always detrimental, but is usually a tool that fuels discrimination and victimization. Heterosexism. Similar

In the beginning, nothing else existed except for Ahura Mazda who lives in Endless Light. Most of the modern biblical scholars believe that there are clearly two versions of the creation story that exist in the chapters of Genesis 1 through 3 in the Old Testament. These versions appear to come from three different authors or groups of authors called the Jahwist source, the Priestly sources and the Redactor source. Written by the Priestly source, around 450BC, the first version begins in Genesis 1:1 31 and ends in Genesis 2:1 3. Next, the Jahwist source writes the second version in Genesis 2:4 25, around 950BC, with additional verses written, around 750 to 400BC, by the Redactor source. With all of these dates in mind, it would then appear that the first version in Genesis 1 was written at a later date than Genesis 2 resulting with the version from Genesis 2 being the first version. Also, notice the differences between the 2 versions such as in Genesis 1 where the focus is on the entire universe, whereas, in Genesis 2 the focus is on the creation of man and his environment.

This project tests the amount of biogas produced when cow manure is combined with different types of biomass (in this case, mashed bananas and vegetable peelings). It is an interesting project because studying how biogas is produced, it is possible to see how this chemical reaction happens. Biogas can be used for cooking, heating, and after going through a transformation process it could be even used as fuel. If studied more, biogas could have more functions. Examine Eliot s treatment of women in Prufrock, Preludes, Portrait of a Lady and Rhapsody on a Windy Night In all four of the poems; Prufrock , Preludes , Portrait of a Lady and Rhapsody on a Windy Night , Eliot makes references to women. Eliot seems to treat women almost as objects to either be looked at with wonder and, at times, fascination or as objects to be scorned upon. In all of the poems Eliot makes the voice of the poem slightly distanced from the women and this, to me, makes the women seem almost untouchable. When looking at the poem Prufrock we must first notice that the full title is The Love Song of J.Alfred Prufrock. This title seems almost ironic as, after reading the poem, we realise that the poem ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Portrait of a Lady has a very dramatic structure a one sided dialogue, in which the lady speaks and her visitor silently comments ably shows us Eliot s clear views in this poem about women, and in Portrait of a Lady the tone suggests that he feels women are false note(s). The dialogue of the woman is very pretentious with lines such as So intimate, this Chopin, that I think his soul / Should be resurrected only among friends and Without these friendships life, what cauchemar! By having the lady speak French Eliot suggests that he perceives this woman to be trying too hard and this makes us think of the woman as if she is putting on a mask rather than being herself; this is one of the main themes which is interwoven into Eliot s poetry. The poem Preludes portrays women in a very different light to Prufrock and Portrait of a Lady . In Preludes Eliot draws influence from Baudelaire who wrote about the more sordid aspects of the modern metropolis, and it would seem that in Preludes women can almost be included in these sordid aspects. Eliot talks about a woman in the third stanza of the poem, and it would appear that the woman is a prostitute. Writing about a prostitute, he presents to us a more sordid side of women. Nicole Kovach Professor Spring World Religions March 10, 2015 Turning Men into Fishermen Fishing is a popular past time all around the world. It has been around for many centuries, and has influenced and shaped many societies and cultures. One popular religion that fishing has a major impact on is Christianity. It is obvious that fishing is prominent in the Christian religion by looking at the famous Christian symbol, the Jesus fish. On many American cars one may find this very simple depiction of a fish on the back bumper. Another influence that fishing has in Christianity is the teachings in the bible. Many biblical stories are written and teach life lessons through the technique of fishing. Not only did Jesus want his disciples to be fisher of men, but he also did the majority of his sermons in a boat. Fishing plays a huge role in the Christian community and throughout time has shaped it into the religion that it is today. The Jesus fish symbol is a fish made out of two simple lines that cross in the back. It is a simple drawing yet carries so much meaning in the Christian community. The X shaped cross in the tail is supposed to represent the crucifix that Jesus died for the human sins on. The X also translates into the Greek word Christ (Edmondson, 57). The Jesus fish is often referred to as Ichthys, which is the first letters of five Greek words that make up the word fish (Hassett). Those five Greek words are Jesus Christ, Son of God, Savior .
