Essay Marijuana
Writing an essay on the topic of marijuana can present both challenges and opportunities. On one
hand, the subject is multifaceted, covering various aspects such as its historical context, medical
applications, legalization debates, societal impact, and more. Navigating through these diverse
angles requires careful research and a nuanced understanding of the subject matter.
The difficulty lies in striking a balance between presenting factual information and addressing
the ethical, legal, and health-related concerns associated with marijuana. Crafting a coherent and
persuasive argument while acknowledging the complexity of the topic can be challenging.
Additionally, the evolving nature of marijuana-related policies and public perceptions adds a
layer of intricacy, requiring the writer to stay updated on the latest developments.
Moreover, the writer needs to be aware of potential biases and stereotypes associated with the
subject, ensuring that the essay remains objective and well-reasoned. Engaging with opposing
viewpoints and counterarguments further complicates the writing process, demanding a
comprehensive examination of the topic from multiple perspectives.
Despite these challenges, writing an essay on marijuana also provides an opportunity for critical
thinking and creativity. Addressing the topic in a thought-provoking manner can contribute to a
more informed and nuanced public discourse. It requires the writer to synthesize information,
analyze data, and construct a compelling narrative that goes beyond mere recitation of facts.
In conclusion, tackling an essay on the topic of marijuana demands a careful and thorough
approach. Balancing the various facets of the subject, staying informed about current
developments, and navigating the ethical landscape surrounding marijuana use all contribute to
the complexity of the task.

Each period has its artistic characteristics. The Baroque was a style in art that it stark

Hyperbole Twelfth Night
The play Twelfth Night by William Shakespeare conveys the way love occurs in
different forms. Twelfth Night is set in the fictional coastal European town of
Illyria. The story begins when Viola, finds herself on the coast of Illyria after a
shipwreck. Viola disguises herself as Cesario and gains a position working for Duke
Orsino, who is deeply in lovewith Olivia. Olivia refuses his love and falls in love
with his messenger, Cesario. Orsino s and Olivia s love is selfish and persistent
towards Olivia and Cesario respectively. Viola is in love with Orsino but cannot
express it because she would have to break her disguise. After Antonio rescues
Sebastian from the shipwreck, he falls in love with him, but must conceal his love the
homosexual relationship would be unacceptable. These ideas are portrayed through
use of hyperbole, soliloquy, dramatic irony, aside and parallel plots. The techniques
prompt the viewer to apply the situation to their own life by extracting personal
morals from the text.
Selfish love is felt by both Orsino and Olivia for the majority of this script. Neither
characters begin to consider that the one they love may not reciprocate the
emotion and they continue to force their love in a place where it will not succeed.
Duke Orsino believes that the love he feels for Olivia is stronger than any love
ever felt before and states this when saying. He is vain to the extent that he
believes that Olivia s heart only be fulfilled with These sovereign thrones, are all
supplied, and filled/Her sweet perfections with one self king (I.i.37 38). Shakespeare
uses hyperbole in Orsino s lines to display how extreme, dramatic and passionate his
love is to the reader. Twelfth Nightbegins with Duke Orsino performing a soliloquy
which uses hyperbole to portray to the audience his narcissistic and intense
personality. Olivia possesses a similar emotion but towards Cesario. She has
previously hinted her love to Cesario time and time again. When she openly
confesses her love, Cesario states that no woman will hold his heart. Olivia expects
that Cesario will convince himself to love her when saying, thou perhaps mayst move
/That heart, which now abhors, to like his love (III.i.153 154). The technique mostly
In Search of Dibs
Dibs Reaction
No one is born a parent; no one really is a perfect parent. Dibs: In Search of Self is
a perfect example of this as both parents had no idea how to raise a child in a
loving, compassionate home. Dibs mother stated from the get go that the boy
seemed to have it out for her and he was responsible for ruining her and her
marriage. The father was completely wrapped up in his work and studies and made
sure he d made no time for his children. Additionally, his children had been
instructed to stay out of his room while he was home. Once Dibs sister is born, he is
again pushed further away as their mother spoils the little girl. Eventually, however
even the sister is sent away to a boarding school.

Instead of interacting with his son, he shut him down, effectively causing Dibs to
react negatively. Dibs screamed at his father that he hated him. (Axline, 1964, p. 80)
I had my mom read this book to give me some feedback and about half way through
it, she d stated that she d read it once before. She was about 16 years old in 1978
and her mother was reading it for a college class. They would read it aloud to her
and her siblings after dinners during her semester. She recalled how uncomfortable
she felt hearing the book. In those days, you didn t talk to people who had children
like Dibs. You didn t look them in the eye, you didn t ask them anything. You
avoided them like a disease, because that s almost what they were. When people
would converse about them, it was always in hushed tones. We would always hear
how bad people felt because the child was retarded or manic.
During the interview of Dibs mother, she stated: There was no place we could send
him. (Axline, 1964, p. 87) This intrigued me because it seemed very cold for her to
want to just get rid of her child, but again in talking to my mom, that was how it
was in that time period. It was standard practice to send problem children off to
boarding schools or private practices to keep peace in well to do families. Again,
Dibs sister was eventually sent to a private boarding school herself, even though she
was labeled as a perfect child .

Definition Of Leadership And Leadership Theories
Task no.1.1: Sum up the Leadership Theories: Definition of leadership leader ,
shows great influence and bonding with its theories. It is an ability of leader how
he influence a group towards the achievement of a vision or set of goals. Leadership
is also about coping with change. Leaders set a direction for future by making a
vision of the future. Then guide people by easy mode of communication with this
vision inspire them to rule out the problems.
There are eight main leadership theories are exist practically.
Great Man Theories: This theory assumes that great leaders are born, They cannot
made. These theories say that in case of need great leaders, they lead from the front.
Great man term was evolved because in military leadership only male leaders were
present on that time.
Trait Theories: Trait theory shows similarities with Great man theories, In trait
theories specifically it has been assumed that people are born with certain qualities
and characteristics. These make them better leaders from choice. It also shows
specific personality or behavioural traits shared by leaders.
Contingency Theories: Stoelhorst and Peter (2013) said that this leadership theory
mainly focus on particular variables which shows the relation with the environment.
This will indicates about what kind of leadership will be the most effective? This
theory simply states that no theory is universal perfect but the implement of theories

What Is The Theme Of Isang Tikbalang Ka Lang

Isang Tikbalang Ka Lang By Eros Atalia is a story which provided a short narrative
that explains the unrevealed attitude of one of the variables in the story. Once, a
tikbalang fell in love with a woman which at the end, gave him a comprehension that
makes him think of his unconsciousness because of a possessive woman knowing him
well, on the other hand, he doesn t know the actual character of hers.
Specifically, there was tikbalang, who is an openhanded lover. Moreover, the loved
one is the attractive, engaging woman. They both have the capabilities to love, but in
different ways and principles. The duwende, as an extra variable, is described as an

There is a lot of lesson can be learned in this Atalio s story. Although tikbalang is
known to be the hopeless one, the purpose of the author in creating this character is
to give advice and remind people, both of the men and women. Maybe, the reason of
the author in conveying the messages is: first; to present the uniqueness and
importance in the human history of the different ways of Filipino courtships; to give
lesson that love isn t about wealth; and of course, the importance and unlikeness of
the Philippine Mythology. I conclude that maybe there are really some other girls
like the mortal girl in the story but I believe that this story can change a number of

Love And Love In Ernest Hemingway s A Farewell To Arms
Suddenly, an idea enters your train of thought and streams throughout your mind; you
are in your own world of random words and phrases that amount to nothing... but
make all the sense in your world, a world that only exists within. In A Farewell to
Arms, Ernest Hemingway traverses into Frederic s stream of consciousnessin order to
develop Frederic s dependence on the love of Catherine Barkley. Frederic s
development throughout the novel is mirrored by a progression in his attachment
to Catherine. Through foreshadowing and streams of consciousness, Hemingway
uses Frederic s relationship with Catherine to actualize his growth. The deeper his
devotion to Catherine, the more his views change about the war. When Frederic is
first introduced, he is arrogant and dissolute and has yet to establish any
parameters for his life. Upon meeting Catherine, Frederic s lust for her makes him
long for her company; and although he desires a purely sexual relationship, he
accidentally falls in love with her. Frederic s transformation from a disillusioned
young man to a weathered soul that has suffered life s greatest agonies is a result of
his loss in love and war.
At the beginning of the novel, Frederic is an independent, yet naive, soldier lacking
direction in life and passion for the war:
I had gone to no place where the roads were frozen and hard as iron, where it was
clear cold and dry and the snow was dry and powdery and hare tracks in the snow...I

Rhetorical Techniques Used In I Am Legend By Richard
Matheson
In the novel I Am Legend Richard Matheson uses an array of rhetorical devices to
describe the experience of Robert Neville being dragged into a peculiar tent. In the
beginning of the passage the author describes the person talking to Neville. The
man s throat moving like clammy turkey skin. The author uses tactile imagery to
give us a vivid representation of the man talking and his appearance. Richard uses
clammy turkey skin to show that it s wet and really weird looking. Red splotched
cheeks. Visual imagery is used to to give the reader a mental image of the cheeks
and how they look. Fingers like skeleton fingers. Similie is used to compare the
fingers of this person to skeleton fingers skinny to where it almost seems to be just

During the London 2012 Olympics, star performers winning gold got a lot of
attention but the Games also featured many collective events in which small and big
teams compete. And so, in this article, I thought I would take a look at the dynamics
of collective rather than individual performance and try to answer the question: how
can you as a manager get the best out of your team members?
Let me say upfront that pay, praise and promotion do have some effect on motivation
levels in the workplace but that a manager just using these P s will run into deep
seated engagement issues.
My experience but also a lot of good literature on the topic have convinced me over
time that there are indeed three primary levers a manager can play with to boost
motivation and those are:
1. Providing meaningful job content and role purpose,
2. Making use of existing skills together with the opportunity to develop and learn,
and
3. Granting autonomy at work.
Let s look at them in turn:

The best compliment that somebody can make to another person is to say, You look
fantastic . It means that the job that somebody did with his outfit is successful, and he
succeed in impressing others. This compliment about the overall outfit, is even better
than hearing about a specific part of the outfit, for example, the shoes, or a bag, or a

with his self confidence making the person look fantastic. It s especially important
when making a first impression. Because when first meeting someone a good

Abraham Stoker and Theater
Abraham (Bram) Stoker began his life bedridden, weak, and helpless. Stoker, third
of seven children, was born in Clontarf, a suburb of Dublin, on November 8, 1847
(Whitelaw 9). His parents were Abraham Stoker, from Dublin, and Charlotte
Mathilda Blake Thornley, who was raised in County Sligo ( Bram Stoker ). He
spent most of his early childhood laying in bed, watching his brothers and sisters
play outside through a dusty old window. As a child, he wondered if he would get
sicker if he would end up dying (Whitelaw 10). He could fully comprehend the
definition of misery by the age of ten. Stoker was considered lucky, given his
paralyzed condition, to have a mother who sat by his bedside telling his stories to
keep his mind off of his illness. He grew up fantasizing about vampires and fairies
in Irish tales. It is not very shocking to see that, because he grew up around misery,
he became so intrigued with dark literature. His mother built the foundation that
Stoker would later build his theatrical/literary empire on. His love for theater
introduced him to the literary world. Stoker s work and interest with theater is
what eventually led him to become so involved with Gothic Literature. He was not
fully capable of his writing abilities until after he enrolled in college. [Stoker]
enrolled at Trinity, a highly respected college of the University of Dublin, in 1863

At-Will Employment
At Will Employment The term at will applies both to the person hired and to the
person who does the hiring. As the term suggests, both parties have the ability to
end the employment whenever they wish because there are no strings attached to
it (Employee Issues, 2012). In a normal contract situation, a person is employed for
a specified amount of time and the individual knows that as long as a contract is in
force what is expected and the remuneration that comes with the employment. This
type of contract comes with a guarantee of employment as long as the individual
meets the requirements of the contract. A contract also guarantees the employer
that the employee has to fulfill certain obligations by law. In the case of at will
employment, there is no contract signed by either party. Even though the
employee may interview and have to fill out certain paperwork to obtain the job,
they are not contracted for the work. The employee is hired with the understanding
that they can leave employment at any time and that the employer can do the
same. This also means that the employer is free to change the specifications of the
job any time they will (Employee Issues, 2012). Another facet of this type of
employment is that the employer is free to choose the type of employee they want.
Even if a policy seems discriminatory, the employer is able to apply it if it does not
in some way violate the law. As a final note on the definition of such employment,
employers will generally
The Market Economy By Marge Piercy
The bizarre economy that we live in has affected us in many ways than our simple
mind can fathom. After World War II there was massive push in innovation. Human
were gifted with inventions like the Airplane, color T.V., polyvinyl cups, and
precooked dinners. Nevertheless, these gifts came at an enormous cost. That cost was
pushed onto the environmentand people living in that environment. The Market
Economy by Marge Piercy illustrates the movement in American aimed at bring
attention to a global problem as well as an effort to save the planet along with the
people living on it.
Marge Piercy was born in 1936 which placed her birth at the end of The Great

America where the United States of America had the highest GDP per capita, people
could easily find jobs you work in a new plastic (line17) With all of new economic

Pit Bulls Be Banned, And Euthanized
Every day in the United States, there are pit bulls be banned, and euthanized. Dog
Shelters are overfilled with pit bulls. There are approximately 937 cities in the
united states that has some sort of a Breed Restriction legislation. To me this is
absurd! People are getting these dogs and are training them to fight. It s so wrong.
Pit bulls are so discriminated against now because how people are training these
dogs to fight. Every time I hear about a dogfight or seeing a pit bullchained up makes
me really upset. I m tired of it. How would those people feel if they were treated like
that? I personally love Pit bulls, but some people don t. I personally own a brindle pit
bull named Boosie. I always say how a dog turns out depends on their owner. I had
my dog ever since he was a puppy, and I raised him very well. He s so sweet and
loving. I don t see how people would want to ban pit bulls?
Pit bulls have a lot of history. Pit bulls been bred for human companionship, and
since the 1900s, they have been bred for conformation showing as well. Pit bulls
have been used as farm dogs, family dogs, military mascots, and all purpose
companions. In England, the Staffie Bull is known as the The Nanny Dog or The
Children s Nursemaid because of their placid and nurturing demeanor toward
children. They say Regardless of how gentle your dog is, all dogs of any breed
should never be left alone unsupervised with children .Throughout their history in

How Does Batman s Use Of The Interrogation Scene
154.101 Introduction to Media Studies Assignment One: Media Analysis The Film
The Dark Knight directed by Christopher Nolan tells the story of Batman attempting
to rid gotham city of the criminals that infest it. A new criminal mastermind known
as the Joker emerges and attempts to make Batman question his morals and beliefs.
The interrogation scene (01:22:06 and finishes 01:27:00) is the scene which I have
chosen to analyse due to its effective use of mise en scГЁne, cinematography and
soundtrack.

Mise en scène is everything that is in front of the camera and
how it has been arranged this includes: actors, costume , setting , props and lighting.
In the interrogation mise en scГЁne plays an important part at communicating Nolan
s message to the audience. The setting of the scene is a cliched police... Show more

Nolan throughout the interrogation scene uses diegetic and non diegetic sound to
create tension ,and emotion. Diegetic sound of the door creaking adds to the harsh
feel of the setting. The whole time that Gordon is in the room with the Joker there is
no non diegetic sound present in contrast to Batman who when revealed also reveals
Nolan s use of non diegetic sound.Batman when revealed smashes Joker head against
the table then the audience hears a non diegetic sound of ringing then two thumps of
a drum sounding like a heartbeat or a pulsating headache. This allows the Nolan to
get the audience subconsciously relating to what Joker is saying. Batman then
proceeds to hit Jokers hand again the non diegetic sound of the drums is used for the
same purpose. From that point on there is a constant steel sounding non diegetic
music creating tension between the two characters until the line don t talk like one
of them you re not even if you d like to be. when the non diegetic music changes to
more light slowly echoed chime music this allows the audience to see that Batman is

The Physics Of A Bicycle
Every year someone seems to claim that they have come up with the world s first
spokeless bicycle. These claims are accurate in that the bicycle that they have
created are indeed spokeless. However, most of these models are deemed unable to

a group of Yale engineers and their spokeless bicycle invention. Even though I felt
like it would be just like all the others, I decided to learn a bit more about it and
wanted to pass on my finding to the rest of you. A group of Yale students decided

Big Two Hearted River Hemmingway Analysis
In the story Big Two Hearted River Hemmingway explains how coming back from
the war is almost like a pause in your life. You have death inside you because you ve
experienced so many horrible things in war. Hemmingway uses his main character,
Nick to show how he moved on from coming back from war. Nick came back home
to a burnt town, and nothing but the wilderness.
Coming back from war is dramatic. War causes PTSD. PTSD is a disease which
causes you to freak out and be anxious a lot because of what you ve seen in the
past. The train went on up the track out of sight, around one of the hills of burnt
timber (77) The word to emphasize on is burnt. If you look further into the word it
ll take you into nicks world. When Nick came home there was almost a part of
death inside him, dragging him on. He went through some much. In the swamp the
banks were bare, the big cedars came together overhead, the sun did not come
through, except in patches; in the fast deep water, in the half light, the fishing
would be tragic. (198) Thinking about going to the swamp is like thinking about
war. He tries so hard to not go to the swamp, because it made him think about his
awful times. He s lonely in the woods but it s a good type of lonely. His brain is

Microsoft Azure And Google App Engine Essay
Data location and data segregation are of importance in the cloud, given the
disparate physical location of shared computing resources. It is a possibility that
cloud users be under statutory, regulatory or contractual obligations to ensure that
data is held and managed in a certain way. To understand where the data is stored in
the cloud, a person must what type of cloud deployment models there are in use.
There are four different cloud deployment models that are used in the cloud
computing environment. The four models are private cloud, public cloud, hybrid
cloud and community cloud. A private cloud can be owned or leased and managed
by the organization or a third party and exist at on premises or off premises. A
public cloud is an infrastructure is provided to many customers is managed by a
third party and exist beyond the company firewall, examples would be Microsoft
Azure and Google App Engine. A hybrid cloud is a composition of two or more
cloud deployment models, which links data in such a way that the data transfer
takes place between them without affecting each other. An example of a hybrid
cloud would be Amazon Web Services (ABS). The community cloud is a model
that is shared by several organizations for a shared cause and may be managed by
them or a third party service provider and rarely offered cloud model. The cloud
environment operating according to this model may exist locally or remotely. An
example of a Community Cloud includes Facebook. Most customers
Joseph Plumb Martin, Biography
Born in western Massachusetts in 1760, Joseph Plumb Martin was the son of a
pastor; at the age of seven, he began living with his affluent grandfather. Almost as
soon as the Revolutionary War broke out in the spring of 1775, young Joseph was
eager to lend his efforts to the patriotic cause. In June 1776, at the tender age of 15,
Martin enlisted for a six month stint in the Connecticut state militia. By the end of
the year, Martin had served at the Battles of Brooklyn, Kip s Bay and White Plains in
New York. Though Martin declined to reenlist when his six month stint ended in
December 1776, he later changed his mind, and on April 12, 1777 he enlisted in the

On arriving at Valley Forge at the start of that famously long winter, Martin wrote:
Our prospect was indeed dreary. In our miserable condition, to go into the wild

In 1778, Private Martin was transferred to the light infantry for a brief period,
during which his unit operated against Tory sympathizers in the Hudson Highlands

principal duties were working with mines and with saps, as the approach trenches to

The Space Of Deep Sea Exploration
Since the 1950s, America and the rest of the world have been fascinated by space
exploration, extraterrestrial life, and alien planets; but in reality our own planet is
an alien planet. To this day only five percent of our oceans have been discovered,
while our oceans make up seventy one percent of the earth. Scientists believe that
the oceans have been around since the earth was just molten rock and in its early
formation, also all life originated from the ocean. So why explore out when we
haven t explored our own ocean? Our oceans could contain many secrets to the world
that are still unknown. According to Ryan Carlyle, a subsea hydraulics engineer

deep sea coral form colonies instead of reefs like shallow water coral; these
colonies contain thousands of animals such as fish, crabs, and shrimp. Some coral

Marketing Plan For A Marketing Strategy
Marketing plans are essential to businesses and companies in terms of coming up
with a meticulous plan to market and advertise products, such as food brands you
would see on supermarket shelves. For example, marketing and advertising highly
revolves around a marketing plan as it plays an important role in organising and
facilitating a marketingcampaign (Kotler et al., 2009). Marketing plans consist of
multiple different components/sections which, when put together form the overall
plan as a whole. The overall goal of a marketing planis to convey the best possible
course of action a business or company can take to ensure a successful market and
how it can be done and sustained for a period of time (Westwood, 2006). The plan
will be broken down into sections and described and explained throughout this report.
The barriers of marketing plans will also be explored, and food context examples will
be given. The several marketing plan sections, as identified in Kotler et al (2009), are
as follows: background information, the executive summary, current marketing
situation, objectives, marketing strategy, action programmes, projected income
statements, controls, evaluating and the implementation of the marketing plan.
As previously mentioned, marketing plans are essential for companies and
businesses to ensure their products and brands are well established out in the market
and make a good profit. However, many companies face obstacles and barriers which
can stop them from
Why Grades Are Not Acceptable Methods For Student
Learning
When helping Northern Arizona University (NAU) address Core Component 4. B, a
colleague was overheard making a comment. The colleague said We already do
assessment. We give grade and course evaluations. If you want to know how much
students are learning, look at their grades and course evaluations. The following
paper will describe why grades are not acceptable methods for student learning.
Additionally, it will propose a few questions that will make course evaluation data
more useful in addressing accreditation requirements. Lastly, it will outline how NAU
can effectively address Core Component 4. B. First, accreditation helps to ensure and
improve the quality of an institution or program. It is a process that uses a set of
standards that ensures quality of education based on measures of student learning.
There are many accrediting organizations that review higher education institutions or
specific programs within that institution. Accreditation provides many things to
students and the public by making sure the institution or program lives up to its
promises. For example, students who attend an accredited institution can be assured
that classes will transfer and that the program of study will be accepted by future
employers (CHEA, 2010). Accreditors usually focus on student learning outcomes. A
good institution will have these student learning outcomes within its strategic plan
which drives all assessment processes. Yet, despite the obvious need for assessments
that can

Ip Delivery For Fpgas Using Applets And Jhdl
Paper Summary The paper, IP Delivery for FPGAs Using Applets and JHDL ,
describes the use of Java applets in order to provide IP (Intellectual Property)
based FPGA delivery and evaluation. As IP based FPGA approach has significant
advantages such as it improves the productivity/quality, and reduce design time.
FPGA IP uses Java applets that allow designers to create, evaluate, test and obtain
circuits, and that too has to be done within a web browser. Several other
approaches have been introduced, which are similar to JHDL. Those can be
described as follows; Web CAD: It uses client server architecture and transfers
the simulation events across the network Java CAD: This is similar to Web
CAD. It has applets which are described in Java and uses RMI (Remote Method
Invocation) over the internet for simulating and evaluating the circuits. JBits:
This tool does not use the internet to deliver IP cores and delivers pre placed IP
core. It is easily incorporated with online Java applets. In Java based applets, here
JHDL is used as a design environment. It is developed at BYU used for creating
high performance FPGA. JHDL libraries provide the components and wires that are
used to create the instance. The programming language used here is Java and for
simulation and compilation, Java Virtual Machine (JVM) platform is needed. Variety
of design tools it supported, such as Schematic Viewer, allows the designer to
quickly view the structure and hierarchy of a circuit. 
Character Analysis Of Calvin And Hobbes
Calvin and Hobbes is a humorous newspaper comic strip developed by the
American cartoonist Bill Watterson. The comic follows the everyday life of an
impish six year old by the name of Calvin and the adventures he has with his best
friend and stuffed tiger, Hobbes (Watterson, Characters ). Watterson explores ideas of
childhood innocence and imagination from the perspective of Calvin and his
interactions with the characters around him. The underlying message is that it is
okay to be different and ask questions because the opinion of the majority is not
always correct. Watterson portrays this message through Calvin by having him point
out when adults are being unreasonable and asking questions. The comic does an
excellent job of achieving its intended purpose of engaging readers while urging them
to question the world around them.
The storyline of Calvin and Hobbes revolves around the daily life of Calvin and the
relationships that he has with other characters. The bulk of the comic features
commentary by Calvin in relation to the observations he makes on the world
around him. Hobbes usually replies to Calvin sarcastically, but still humors his
criticisms. Calvin s parents and peers are usually annoyed by his comments, but
Calvin stands by his opinions and stays true to himself. Calvin s active imagination
leads him to create his own idea of entertainment. This is especially apparent in
Calvin s view of Hobbes. Calvin perceives Hobbes as a living tiger of which takes on

The Lovesong Of J Alfred Prufrock And Preludes
The portrayal of alienation and existential nihilism inherent in modern life pervades
T.S Eliot s poems, therefore, directly resonating with Jeanette Winterson s
perspective of the modernist writer. By exploring the isolation of men and the
futility of life in a modernised society through The Love Song of J Alfred Prufrock
(1915) and Preludes (1915), T.S Eliot questions the uncertainty of the Modernistic
lifestyle. Both these poems which are derived from T.S Eliot s historical and cultural
context in Post war Europe, present aloofness and nihilismas manifestations of the
superficiality and pretensions of the modern urban environment. T.S Eliot s poetry
has transformed the world of modernist poetry and remains valued as contemporary

In the poem, Prufrock believes that he has endured a monotonous life and
constantly expresses his discontent and restlessness. Prufrock emphasises on his
discontent of what he perceived as the emptiness and meaningless of modernistic
life. During the WW1 era where society was saturated by disillusionment and
discontent, life was seen as unpromising and meaningless. This directly correlates
to the attitude of the poem, as Prufrock constantly relays the desolateness of his
life. He asserts his overall boredom and perceives life as futile when he states I
have measured my life with coffee spoons . Through T.S Eliot s use of metaphor,
Eliot refers to the mundane aspects of Prufrock s life as the most significant
moments of his life, which confronts responders with the mendacity of their lives
and reflects Eliot s perspective. Here, Eliot s nihilistic perspective of life directly
relates to Jeanette Winterson s critical perspective, stating that he was such a
sensitive soul that he was easily overwhelmed by impressions, by situations, by
events, by people...he suffered continually. Winterson implicates that Eliot was a
highly sensitive individual as such the experiences he faced personally and those
that others faced deeply affect him, therefore accounting for his nihilistic view of
life and humanity itself. Furthermore, T.S Eliot utilises repetition through, For I
have known them all already, known them all to reinforce Prufrock s realisation of
the meaningless life he leads. The repetition of known them all , infers that Prufrock
s life is absent of intrinsic value and completely worthless as he has no more to offer.
Prufrock surrenders to the superficial, barren aspects of life and society, perceiving
human existence as futile when he states he Shall wear the bottoms of my trousers
Questions On Sexual Offences Act Essay
The parties mentioned in the question may be charged with three different sexual
offences. The first possible scenario is rape, contrary to Section 1 of the Sexual
Offences Act 2003 (henceforth referred to as SOA 2003 ) and the parties that may
be liable are Steve and Ryan. The second offence is one contrary to Section 4 SOA
2003: causing a person to engage in sexual activity without consent. The parties
that could be held accountable are Steve for his actions concerning Sonia as well
as Jane and Leela for their actions against Steve. Finally, the third offence is sexual
assault contrary to Section SOA 2003 and Jane is the person concerned. Rape
Steve Steve engaged in unprotected sex with Leela after having falsely convinced
her that she could not get pregnant as a result of it. He may be liable for rape
depending on whether or not Leela s consent is deemed to be initially valid and
unaffected by Steve s deception. There is potential scope for prosecution under
Section 74 of SOA 2003 which postulates that consent is considered to be given if
he agrees by choice, and has the freedom and capacity to make that choice .
Although capacity has not been expressly defined in statute, according to the
guidelines established in IM v LM Others [2014], in order for a person to have the
mental capacity to consent to sex , he/she need only have a basic understanding of
the act sex: what it involves physically, the fact that there may be health risks and the

Foie Gras Research Paper
For the general population, cooking comes naturally. At least that is what they
think. In reality, cooking is not simply following directions. Some recipes are
extremely precise in how they are made, such as Foie Gras. Connoisseurs have no

dishes any chef can make.

Foie gras is a famous French delicacy. Usually, foie gras is goose liver, but chefs use

First, one must rid the liver of all veins, nerves, membranes, or discolorations.
These parts are edible, but it is removed anyway because it is deemed unattractive
and it may affect what the flavor is supposed to be. While cleaning, it is also
crucial that you keep the lobes intact as much as possible. Keeping the lobes
together will ensure the foie gras turns out correctly. It is also recommended to
perform this step at room temperature, because it gives the foie gras the right
texture of soft clay. If the foie gras is in the refrigerator, the chef needs to remove
the foie gras from the refrigerator and leave it in its package for one and a half to
three hours to allow it to warm up. To increase the temperature in a shorter amount
of time, a chef can remove the foie gras from the package, rinse it, and immerse it
into a hot water bath of 95 degrees Fahrenheit for approximately one hour. After all
is said and done, you should be left with two flattened lobes of liver that are largely
intact, a few small scraps of liver that have broken off, and the membranes and
veins. Discard the membranes and veins [because they are not necessary] (Ginor
93). Once the liver is ridded of all its flaws, what is left is a beautiful French
Demographic Transition Of Pre Industrial
demographic transition theory is a widespread explanation of the changing mold of
humanity, fertility and increase rates as civilizations move from one demographic
system to another. The term was first coined by the American demographer Frank W.
Notestein in the mid twentieth century, but it has since been elaborated and expanded
upon by many others (The Demographic Transition, 2012). There are four stages of
demographic transition.
The first stage of the demographic transition is called pre industrial. In this stage, the
population is stable. The birth and death rates are both high. The death rates are at a
high due to the increase of disease, poor medical and personal hygiene care along
with the limited supplies of food. With the death rates being high, people are having
more babies to help with mortality rates being so high. With the birth and death rates
being equal, the population growth stays at a zero.
The second stage of the demographic transition theory is called the transitional stage.
In this state the population starts to increase. This happens because the birth rates are
high and the death rates are starting to decline. The second stage is when the
development of modern medicine and food distribution is started to take hold and the
death rate starts to diminish. (Saucedo, 2011)
The reason the death rates are starting to decline is due to the reason that the country
is transitioning into an industrial county. This means that there are improvements in
the

They carry large loads of things that were mined, for instance, gold. They also
carry items such as, tents, wood, water, etc. that are There are more fights and
some of the dogs are very worn out and in poor health. They are then sold to Hal,
Mercedes, and Charles who don t know what they are doing and beat the dogs for
being tired (keep in mind how long these dogs have traveled; they are weak and
don t have much energy). A man named John Thornton rescues Buck from being
beaten and warned against crossing the frozen lake. The owners don t listen and
they and all the dogs except Buck go to cross the lake, but the ice cracks and all
that crossed the river fell to their death. John takes Buck with him and nurses the
dog back to health. They travel, and along the way, Buck pays back John s kindness
by saving him from drowning in a river and by killing a man that threatens to harm

campsite, including John. Buck kills several Indians, driving the rest away. After

Megadeal Unites Drug Rivals Essay
Anna Wilde Mathews and Jonathan Rockoff authored Megadeal Unites Drug Rivals
in a published WSJ.com article of July 22, 2011. The article addresses the merger of
two pharmacy benefits companies, Express Scripts Inc. and Medco Health Solutions
Inc., along with the merger s ramifications on the health care industry. This strategic
merger is expected to impact the pharmacybenefit manager (PBM) market in
conjunction with influencing drug costs and channels and possibly raising anti trust
concerns.
The main characters in this article include the merging PBM companies Express
Scripts Inc. and Medco Health Solutions Inc. Their PBM competitor companies
include UnitedHealth Group Inc. with its OptumRx pharmacy unit, Walgreen Co.,
and CVS ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Their consolidated size can create intense pressure points on all affected venues and
change the purchasing dynamics of the market.
Generally, an industry consolidation can generate concerns regarding monopolistic
tendencies and negative affects on market trends. In a monopoly, companies
maximize profits, control prices, place prohibitive barriers to entry, and minimize
competition. As expected, this PBM consolidation did raise similar concerns by the
NCPA (2011) and encouraged the FTC to block the consolidation based on
monopoly power and market domination. However, the NCPA is incorrect when
describing this merger as a monopoly. Monopolies typically occur in a supply chain
market. PBM s are sellers of goods and services. As such, this consolidation is in fact
an oligopsony, describing a market with many sellers and few buyers. An oligopsony
market allows for competition and compliments consumers. The anti trust concern,
however, may be whether competition will remain strong enough to pass any cost
savings to the PBM s customers, i.e. employer plans, health plans, and other client
markets.
Medco s acquisition by Express Scripts was likely generated by several setbacks.
The company lost its contract to CVS Caremark for health services to approximately
five million U.S. federal employees, retirees, and dependents. It also lost its
prescription benefit contract for the California Public Employees Retirement System,
U.S. s largest public
Bias Against Israel
In this world today one topic appears in the news almost daily. Israel and the Gaza
Strip. The conflict has been ongoing since 1948 when the Arab League failed to
support their allies in Gaza attacking Israeli forces. Now the region is wrought with
conflict and is the breeding ground for terrorists and recently ISIL forces. HAMAS
(The governing arm of the Palestinians in the Gaza strip) and Israelshould be forced
to come to the negotiation table to eliminate the conflict and bring stability to the
region. After several failed peace talks the two factions have commenced the
launching of missiles into each other s territory; both sides lack of regard for
collateral damage has led to the deaths of over 2,000 civilian casualties alone from

Soon when tensions grow a coalition of countries must enter in and pacify Israel and
Hamas. Also in this motion force Israel and Hamas to the table for
permanent peace talks to bring peace to this war torn region of the world. This will
unduoghtetdly open up friendly relations with other middle east countries who see
that the world judges everyone
Essay On Fecal Microbial Transplants
Precariously crouched over the bowl armed with latex gloves and a 99%
bactericidal agent, I turned my head away with a grimace as I settled the brush in
the first toilet and began to clean. I had used these toilets countless times during
previous summers at camp, always failing to appreciate their hygiene. That evening, I
curiously Googled How many germs are on a toiletseat? only to discover it was
enough that the 1% remaining after my thorough cleaning might only laugh at my
diligence. Curious to learn more, I scrolled through topics of bacteria, eventually
landing on the procedure of fecal microbial transplants. I wondered who thinks of
this stuff? The answer: the same type of person who looks at mold and develops a

In our back yard, I built a course of ramps that my brothers and I used for mountain
biking. As we dug up rocks, I took them to the curb where I set up a Cool Rock
stand and lectured by passers on the types of xx and xx that are native to
Cincinnati. At home, I am oldest of three boys born to two physicians; we live in a
hectic household. I enjoyed creating balance in disorder, frequently the mediator of
my brothers arguments. Our dogs jumped on every single visitor and failed to
master ringing the bell to signal they needed to go outside. I was accustomed to
chaos and had deftly learned the power of adaptation and the ability to manage the
uncontrollable. I took cautious steps to take this confidence outside my house.
When I didn t make the highly competitive St. Xavier Golf Team, I joined the
Queen City Golf Team where I faced varsity and junior varsity teams across the
city, utilizing my years of golf practice to connect with people who share my
interest. I was ready to test my inner extrovert back at my safe place. During my two
weeks at CREW, by sitting with new people at meals and introducing myself to all the
new staff, I connected with many kids. Our friendships continue through our work on
the Junior Board. My success that summer prompted me to return as a counselor.
This time, having become successful in unfamiliar situations, I felt at ease. This
wasn t because I had been there countless times as a camper or leader or board
member, but it reflected the
Maximus VIII Hero
What is the ASUS Maximus VIII Hero?
The Maximus VIII Hero is ASUS top gaming motherboard based on the Intel Z170
chipset. Ideal when used in unison with Intel s high end Skylake K CPU s, it boasts
incredible performance at a reasonable cost of $345 AUD from common sellers such
as PC Case Gear (link to purchase below).
The board has no killer features used to differentiate it from its competitors. Instead it
uses above entry level components to separate it from competitors. It identifies itself
with its better overclocking, power management, fan control. The board features the
extremely hyped FX 2016 8 Channel High Definition Audio, supplying some of the
best audio available from a mid ranged motherboard. This motherboard has been
hyped by ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As seen by the results below, 5 motherboards were tested on 6 games in a
standardised computer and environment. Of these 6 games, 4 times the Maximus
hero was the gaming motherboard, this is a brilliant result considering that it is the
cheapest of the 5 motherboards.
The PC 8 mark test is used to test the perfect combination of efficiency and
performance. As shown in the figure below our motherboard again scored the highest.
This is absolutely insane, although it was not surprising as I can assure you this
motherboard is noticeably faster than other motherboards I have tested. The
motherboard produced the best results yet, naturally once overclocked these results
increased further.
ASUS Maximus VIII Hero Final thoughts and verdict
My first thought of the Maximus VIII Hero was overall negative, having to send
back the faulty motherboard I received. However this changed very quickly, the
shear aesthetics of this board was enough to please me, however this was just the
icing on the cake with the performance being the best I have received even from
high tier gaming motherboards. I couldn t recommend this highly enough, however
it only received 4 stars due the board itself being of a flimsy build quality as well as
the lack of that wow factor I was looking
Hungarian Revolution of 1956
Causes such as poverty, Soviet power, and change of Hungarian life ultimately led to
the primary uprising known as the Hungarian Revolution of 1956. This event not
only portrayed the initial precursor of instability, but also rebellion inside the Soviet
Iron Curtain. The Hungarian Revolution of 1956 included effects such as a massive
decrease in the global Communist party, an increase of the policy Containment in the
Western Hemisphere, and polarization of the Cold War. In the Hungarian Revolution
of 1956, The U.S.S.R. principle of peaceful negotiation greatly faltered due to the
Soviet practice of intervention and immense destruction of the Hungarian people.

George Zhukov stated that We should withdraw troops from Budapest, and if
necessary withdraw from Hungary as a whole. This is a lesson for us in the military
political sphere (Stambrook et al). They accepted a Declaration of the Government of
the USSR on the Principles of Development and Further Strengthening of Friendship
and Cooperation between the Soviet Union and other Socialist States. This document
proclaimed: The Soviet Government is prepared to enter into the appropriate
negotiations with the government of the Hungarian People s Republic and other
members of the Warsaw Treaty on the question of the presence of Soviet troops on
the territory of Hungary (Stambrook et al). Zhukov s principle did not match with
his practice. Although the declaration was set to begin peaceful relations with
Hungary, Zhukov could not risk losing a stronghold in the Soviet Iron Curtain. He
ordered Soviet forces to invade Budapest in order to not lose grip upon the Iron
Curtain. He knew the consequences would be vast if word of revolution had broken
out, against Soviet reign. Zhukov did not want to lose Hungary as a sphere of
influence.
The opposing side may say that Soviet forces only entered due to Hungarian

St. Catherine Research Paper
3.St. Catherine was born in Sienna, Italy on March 25, 1347. She had 24 siblings,
but most of them didn t make it past childhood. Catherine s sister died when she
was 16. An idea by her parents came up about Catherine marrying her sister s
husband. She rejected the idea and began to fast and make herself look bad
because it made her so mad. From this, she became more religious, but did not want
to join a convent. Instead, she joined the Third Order of St. Dominic, which allowed
her to become part of a religious group while still living at home with her family.
Catherine s family continually criticized her for giving away things without asking,
but she put up with their complaints and kept giving to the poor. Giving to the poor

Compare And Contrast Steamboat And Telegraph
Steamboat and Telegraph
The following presentation encompases two major historical milestones in the
development of american engineering and ingenuity. The first being the development
of the steam engine and the second the invention of the telegraph.
It s the 1800s and industrialization is thriving throughout America. People are
moving away from an agricultural way of life, moving into cities, developing arts
and trades and trying to expand their boundaries of who, where and how they can
trade marketable items. In trying to reach more and more customers at further and
further distances the ability to travel further in less time creates a demand. In this
time period most of the trade routes revolved around rivers as this was the easiest
method of transportation and the mighty Mississippi being the largest trade route.
However, the problem with traveling the Mississippi or any riverway at this time is
that you are at the mercy of the wind and currents. At this time you travelled by boat
with full sail and could not maneuver against tides or a poor wind. There was a need
to create something that could deal with this dilemma. More and more inventions and
machines are being created. With these inventions it becomes effortless to complete
painstaking tasks. The effect of this is tade becoming more ... Show more content on

In the 1800s information would take weeks if not months to be sent and delivered in
order to gain small to vital bits of information. In those times obtaining or sending

information. Samuel Morse a graduate of Yale University is credited with the

  • 5. Hyperbole Twelfth Night The play Twelfth Night by William Shakespeare conveys the way love occurs in different forms. Twelfth Night is set in the fictional coastal European town of Illyria. The story begins when Viola, finds herself on the coast of Illyria after a shipwreck. Viola disguises herself as Cesario and gains a position working for Duke Orsino, who is deeply in lovewith Olivia. Olivia refuses his love and falls in love with his messenger, Cesario. Orsino s and Olivia s love is selfish and persistent towards Olivia and Cesario respectively. Viola is in love with Orsino but cannot express it because she would have to break her disguise. After Antonio rescues Sebastian from the shipwreck, he falls in love with him, but must conceal his love the homosexual relationship would be unacceptable. These ideas are portrayed through use of hyperbole, soliloquy, dramatic irony, aside and parallel plots. The techniques prompt the viewer to apply the situation to their own life by extracting personal morals from the text. Selfish love is felt by both Orsino and Olivia for the majority of this script. Neither characters begin to consider that the one they love may not reciprocate the emotion and they continue to force their love in a place where it will not succeed. Duke Orsino believes that the love he feels for Olivia is stronger than any love ever felt before and states this when saying. He is vain to the extent that he believes that Olivia s heart only be fulfilled with These sovereign thrones, are all supplied, and filled/Her sweet perfections with one self king (I.i.37 38). Shakespeare uses hyperbole in Orsino s lines to display how extreme, dramatic and passionate his love is to the reader. Twelfth Nightbegins with Duke Orsino performing a soliloquy which uses hyperbole to portray to the audience his narcissistic and intense personality. Olivia possesses a similar emotion but towards Cesario. She has previously hinted her love to Cesario time and time again. When she openly confesses her love, Cesario states that no woman will hold his heart. Olivia expects that Cesario will convince himself to love her when saying, thou perhaps mayst move /That heart, which now abhors, to like his love (III.i.153 154). The technique mostly

It was standard practice to send problem children off to boarding schools or private practices to keep peace in well to do families. In A Farewell to Arms, Ernest Hemingway traverses into Frederic s stream of consciousnessin order to develop Frederic s dependence on the love of Catherine Barkley. Frederic s development throughout the novel is mirrored by a progression in his attachment to Catherine. As the term suggests, both parties have the ability to end the employment whenever they wish because there are no strings attached to it (Employee Issues, 2012). In a normal contract situation, a person is employed for a specified amount of time and the individual knows that as long as a contract is in force what is expected and the remuneration that comes with the employment. This type of contract comes with a guarantee of employment as long as the individual meets the requirements of the contract. A contract also guarantees the employer that the employee has to fulfill certain obligations by law. In the case of at will employment, there is no contract signed by either party. Even though the employee may interview and have to fill out certain paperwork to obtain the job, they are not contracted for the work. The employee is hired with the understanding that they can leave employment at any time and that the employer can do the same. This also means that the employer is free to change the specifications of the job any time they will (Employee Issues, 2012). Another facet of this type of employment is that the employer is free to choose the type of employee they want. Even if a policy seems discriminatory, the employer is able to apply it if it does not in some way violate the law. As a final note on the definition of such employment, employers will generally

  • 26. Microsoft Azure And Google App Engine Essay Data location and data segregation are of importance in the cloud, given the disparate physical location of shared computing resources. It is a possibility that cloud users be under statutory, regulatory or contractual obligations to ensure that data is held and managed in a certain way. To understand where the data is stored in the cloud, a person must what type of cloud deployment models there are in use. There are four different cloud deployment models that are used in the cloud computing environment. The four models are private cloud, public cloud, hybrid cloud and community cloud. A private cloud can be owned or leased and managed by the organization or a third party and exist at on premises or off premises. A public cloud is an infrastructure is provided to many customers is managed by a third party and exist beyond the company firewall, examples would be Microsoft Azure and Google App Engine. A hybrid cloud is a composition of two or more cloud deployment models, which links data in such a way that the data transfer takes place between them without affecting each other. An example of a hybrid cloud would be Amazon Web Services (ABS). The community cloud is a model that is shared by several organizations for a shared cause and may be managed by them or a third party service provider and rarely offered cloud model. The cloud environment operating according to this model may exist locally or remotely. An example of a Community Cloud includes Facebook. Most customers

Almost as soon as the Revolutionary War broke out in the spring of 1775, young Joseph was eager to lend his efforts to the patriotic cause. By the end of the year, Martin had served at the Battles of Brooklyn, Kip s Bay and White Plains in New York. Marketing Plan For A Marketing Strategy Marketing plans are essential to businesses and companies in terms of coming up with a meticulous plan to market and advertise products, such as food brands you would see on supermarket shelves. For example, marketing and advertising highly revolves around a marketing plan as it plays an important role in organising and facilitating a marketingcampaign (Kotler et al., 2009). Marketing plans consist of multiple different components/sections which, when put together form the overall plan as a whole. The overall goal of a marketing planis to convey the best possible course of action a business or company can take to ensure a successful market and how it can be done and sustained for a period of time (Westwood, 2006). The plan will be broken down into sections and described and explained throughout this report. The barriers of marketing plans will also be explored, and food context examples will be given. The several marketing plan sections, as identified in Kotler et al (2009), are as follows: background information, the executive summary, current marketing situation, objectives, marketing strategy, action programmes, projected income statements, controls, evaluating and the implementation of the marketing plan. As previously mentioned, marketing plans are essential for companies and businesses to ensure their products and brands are well established out in the market and make a good profit. However, many companies face obstacles and barriers which can stop them from

The colleague said We already do assessment. We give grade and course evaluations. If you want to know how much students are learning, look at their grades and course evaluations. The following paper will describe why grades are not acceptable methods for student learning. Additionally, it will propose a few questions that will make course evaluation data more useful in addressing accreditation requirements. Lastly, it will outline how NAU can effectively address Core Component 4. B. First, accreditation helps to ensure and improve the quality of an institution or program. It is a process that uses a set of standards that ensures quality of education based on measures of student learning. There are many accrediting organizations that review higher education institutions or specific programs within that institution. Accreditation provides many things to students and the public by making sure the institution or program lives up to its promises. For example, students who attend an accredited institution can be assured that classes will transfer and that the program of study will be accepted by future employers (CHEA, 2010). Accreditors usually focus on student learning outcomes. A good institution will have these student learning outcomes within its strategic plan which drives all assessment processes. Yet, despite the obvious need for assessments that can

Ip Delivery For Fpgas Using Applets And Jhdl Paper Summary The paper, IP Delivery for FPGAs Using Applets and JHDL , describes the use of Java applets in order to provide IP (Intellectual Property) based FPGA delivery and evaluation. As IP based FPGA approach has significant advantages such as it improves the productivity/quality, and reduce design time. FPGA IP uses Java applets that allow designers to create, evaluate, test and obtain circuits, and that too has to be done within a web browser. Several other approaches have been introduced, which are similar to JHDL. Those can be described as follows; Web CAD: It uses client server architecture and transfers the simulation events across the network Java CAD: This is similar to Web CAD. It has applets which are described in Java and uses RMI (Remote Method Invocation) over the internet for simulating and evaluating the circuits. JBits: This tool does not use the internet to deliver IP cores and delivers pre placed IP core. It is easily incorporated with online Java applets. In Java based applets, here JHDL is used as a design environment. It is developed at BYU used for creating high performance FPGA. JHDL libraries provide the components and wires that are used to create the instance. The programming language used here is Java and for simulation and compilation, Java Virtual Machine (JVM) platform is needed. Variety of design tools it supported, such as Schematic Viewer, allows the designer to quickly view the structure and hierarchy of a circuit. 
  • 35. Character Analysis Of Calvin And Hobbes Calvin and Hobbes is a humorous newspaper comic strip developed by the American cartoonist Bill Watterson. The comic follows the everyday life of an impish six year old by the name of Calvin and the adventures he has with his best friend and stuffed tiger, Hobbes (Watterson, Characters ). Watterson explores ideas of childhood innocence and imagination from the perspective of Calvin and his interactions with the characters around him. The underlying message is that it is okay to be different and ask questions because the opinion of the majority is not always correct. Watterson portrays this message through Calvin by having him point out when adults are being unreasonable and asking questions. The comic does an excellent job of achieving its intended purpose of engaging readers while urging them to question the world around them. The storyline of Calvin and Hobbes revolves around the daily life of Calvin and the relationships that he has with other characters. The bulk of the comic features commentary by Calvin in relation to the observations he makes on the world around him. Hobbes usually replies to Calvin sarcastically, but still humors his criticisms. Calvin s parents and peers are usually annoyed by his comments, but Calvin stands by his opinions and stays true to himself. Calvin s active imagination leads him to create his own idea of entertainment. This is especially apparent in Calvin s view of Hobbes. Calvin perceives Hobbes as a living tiger of which takes on

In the poem, Prufrock believes that he has endured a monotonous life and constantly expresses his discontent and restlessness. Prufrock emphasises on his discontent of what he perceived as the emptiness and meaningless of modernistic life. During the WW1 era where society was saturated by disillusionment and discontent, life was seen as unpromising and meaningless. This directly correlates to the attitude of the poem, as Prufrock constantly relays the desolateness of his life. He asserts his overall boredom and perceives life as futile when he states I have measured my life with coffee spoons . Through T.S Eliot s use of metaphor, Eliot refers to the mundane aspects of Prufrock s life as the most significant moments of his life, which confronts responders with the mendacity of their lives and reflects Eliot s perspective. Here, Eliot s nihilistic perspective of life directly relates to Jeanette Winterson s critical perspective, stating that he was such a sensitive soul that he was easily overwhelmed by impressions, by situations, by events, by people...he suffered continually. Winterson implicates that Eliot was a highly sensitive individual as such the experiences he faced personally and those that others faced deeply affect him, therefore accounting for his nihilistic view of life and humanity itself. Furthermore, T.S Eliot utilises repetition through, For I have known them all already, known them all to reinforce Prufrock s realisation of the meaningless life he leads. The repetition of known them all , infers that Prufrock s life is absent of intrinsic value and completely worthless as he has no more to offer. Prufrock surrenders to the superficial, barren aspects of life and society, perceiving human existence as futile when he states he Shall wear the bottoms of my trousers

It is also recommended to perform this step at room temperature, because it gives the foie gras the right texture of soft clay. If the foie gras is in the refrigerator, the chef needs to remove the foie gras from the refrigerator and leave it in its package for one and a half to three hours to allow it to warm up. To increase the temperature in a shorter amount of time, a chef can remove the foie gras from the package, rinse it, and immerse it into a hot water bath of 95 degrees Fahrenheit for approximately one hour. Demographic Transition Of Pre Industrial demographic transition theory is a widespread explanation of the changing mold of humanity, fertility and increase rates as civilizations move from one demographic system to another. The term was first coined by the American demographer Frank W. Notestein in the mid twentieth century, but it has since been elaborated and expanded upon by many others (The Demographic Transition, 2012). There are four stages of demographic transition. The first stage of the demographic transition is called pre industrial. In this stage, the population is stable. The birth and death rates are both high. The death rates are at a high due to the increase of disease, poor medical and personal hygiene care along with the limited supplies of food. With the death rates being high, people are having more babies to help with mortality rates being so high. With the birth and death rates being equal, the population growth stays at a zero. The second stage of the demographic transition theory is called the transitional stage. In this state the population starts to increase. This happens because the birth rates are high and the death rates are starting to decline. The second stage is when the development of modern medicine and food distribution is started to take hold and the death rate starts to diminish. (Saucedo, 2011) The reason the death rates are starting to decline is due to the reason that the country is transitioning into an industrial county. This means that there are improvements in the

As expected, this PBM consolidation did raise similar concerns by the NCPA (2011) and encouraged the FTC to block the consolidation based on monopoly power and market domination. However, the NCPA is incorrect when describing this merger as a monopoly. Monopolies typically occur in a supply chain market. PBM s are sellers of goods and services.
