Essay On Students And Politics
Crafting an essay on the subject of "Students and Politics" can be a challenging endeavor due to
the intricate interplay between these two spheres. The complexity arises from the need to
navigate through diverse perspectives, ranging from the idealistic enthusiasm of youth
engagement in political affairs to the pragmatic concerns surrounding the potential pitfalls and
distractions it may pose to academic pursuits.
Addressing the multifaceted nature of this topic requires a balanced exploration of various
dimensions, such as the role of students in shaping political discourse, the impact of political
involvement on campus environments, and the ethical considerations surrounding student
activism. Striking the right equilibrium between advocating for active participation and
acknowledging the potential risks and controversies involved demands a nuanced approach.
Furthermore, the landscape of student politics is dynamic and influenced by regional, cultural,
and historical contexts. This necessitates extensive research to comprehend the unique challenges
and opportunities that students encounter in different educational and political environments.
Analyzing case studies, historical events, and contemporary examples becomes imperative to
provide a comprehensive view and to avoid oversimplification.
Additionally, the essay should be grounded in a solid theoretical framework, drawing upon
relevant concepts from political science, sociology, and education. This academic rigor ensures
that the arguments presented are not merely anecdotal but are substantiated by scholarly
literature and critical analysis.
Crafting a compelling essay on "Students and Politics" also requires a keen awareness of the
potential biases and preconceptions that might color the discussion. Striving for objectivity while
acknowledging the subjective nature of the topic adds another layer of difficulty.
In conclusion, tackling an essay on the theme of "Students and Politics" demands a delicate
balance between idealism and pragmatism, a nuanced understanding of diverse perspectives, and
a rigorous exploration of academic literature. Successfully navigating these challenges can result
in an insightful and thought-provoking piece that contributes meaningfully to the discourse on
the subject.

Reflection Paper On Dance Performance
On December 1, 2017, in the University Theatre at California State University,
Dominguez Hills, I observed the fall dance concert Rise. It was choreographed by
Amy Michelle Allen, Marco A, Carreon, Sarah Cashmore, Jeff Hendrix, Erin Landry,
Doris Ressl Acosta, and Kenneth Walker, with the long cast of dancers. The
production was pleasing, and would not have been believable without the work from
production designers, Frederick Depontee and Cheryl Sheldon. Rise is played out in
eight different danceroutines, which were Xtra Xtra, Scar Tissue, Hart Broken,
Things Are A Stirrin , and the rest are intermissions such as Female Energy, Women,
Exotica, Strength In Numbers, and Makina. This fall dance concert was filled with
joy, darkness, torture, culture, and women s rights, right when you sit down and
observe through all 8 dance performances. It would have been 9 dance routines but
the dancer who was suppose to perform Hart Broken had an injury, which made a putt
off. Nevertheless the show must go on, it starts off with the first and second
performance, Xtra Xtra and Scar Tissue. Revealing that both performances were
different themes because Xtra Xtra had the dancers in radiant colors and seemed to
be energetic, whereas the performers in Scar Tissue were clothed in black attire, such
as tutus, dresses, and tights, yet still energetic. This brought to my attention that the
whole dance performances were contrast to each other. Throughout the routines of the
dance concert, the

They left all the weak ones here
In section 4 of the novel of mice and men , George and the ranchers have left the
weak ones at the ranch and gone into town. Although Curley s wife is the one who
refers to them as the weak ones , she herself is included in this group. The theme
which is emphasised in this section is the overriding theme that humanity is small
and fragile in comparison with the forces that control our lives. Steinbeck shows
great compassion to this group of people, he describes is great detail before this
section of the hopes and dreams of each and every one of the weak ones and how
they will never be achieved. In this group are four people, each with their own

How Did Ebenezer Scrooge Change In The Christmas Carol
In the Charles Dickens novella The Christmas Carol , Ebenezer Scrooge is visited
by the ghost of Marley, his friend from the past who warns Scrooge, you have yet a

(Dickens 23) Ebenezer Scrooge, a fictional character of Charles Dickenshas the
chance to change his way before it is too late, but in the real world it is hard to

According to an issue of Harvard Women s Health Watch, Studies have also shown
that goals are easier to reach if they are specific. Setting goals is proven to help
establish change better, than someone who has a broader goals. For example,
someone trying to lose weight might want their goal to be jog for twenty minutes
each day and they will change faster than someone who is also trying to lose
weight yet sets the goal of jog more. More could mean an hour each week or each
month, and the goal leaves no room for improvement, which is essential to change. In
an interview for a Reuters news article, former gang member Stephanie Lane states
that Now I feel like I ve got too much to lose. Boxing keeps my head on straight and
gets me back in shape. To combat her problem of relapsing to the gang life, Lane
took specific measures which helped change her outlook on life. Taking action and
setting goals is a major way to combat changing. Although some critics say, we can
not change with just goals in mind, but look deeper in themselves. , people can
change, but they need to follow the steps. Havard states, different strategies are
needed at different stages. This proves that people need different strategies or
different goals in order to progress further. In order to change, people must have

White Trash Primer Essay

The Judgement
In the short, personal memoir, White Trash Primer, Lacy M. Johnson talks about a
girl s life from childhood to her early adult life. Johnson begins her piece by talking
about the girl s childhood that seemed like an average child s life growing up in a
rural area. This girl grew up in a family where her family was constantly working
hard on a farm to get by. As time went on, life s circumstances changed. The child
began to mature and the family was forced to move due to financial problems.
From the move, the family went from owning a farm and selling corn and soy
beans, to a family that was forced to work at Wal Mart. Depression eventually takes
over the girl s life and her lifestyle changed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Another great thing I took away from reading this memoir is that everyone looks at
the same things, but in different ways. For example, the main character in Johnson s
memoir constantly went into Wal Mart looking for a job. After applying six times,
she finally got hired.
Some might have seen her as being a pest or an interruption to the other
employees, while others saw her as being a determined individual that knew what
she wanted. Everyone saw the same lady walking into the store, but all of their
impressions were very different. Learning that everyone sees the world in a
different manner then led to me wanting to be kind hearted woman to everyone
that I meet. Impressions are everything, so it is better to give a person the benefit
of the doubt since their life stories are not revealed at the time they are seen. The
last lesson I took away from reading Johnson s piece is a person can go from living
a comfortable life without the amenities, but with all the necessities, to a life where
there is nothing at all. There are certain events that happen in your life that can
change your life completely.
Johnson is not the only person who is extremely satisfied with this piece. Many of
her readers feel the same joy. One of her readers by the name of Claudia Rankine
writes on an online blog saying:
I was riveted by this piece written with the haunting interiority of poetry and the
compelling drive of prose. Much like being caught in a novel by
Globalization Of Shipping Containers Essay
CHAPTER ONE INTRODUCTION Rationale of the Study Containerization is a
system of freight transport that transports trade goods from ports to ports. This
system is based on a range of steel intermodal containers (also shipping containers
).These containers are built to standardized dimensions and can be loaded and
unloaded, stacked, transported efficiently over long distances, and transferred from
one mode of transport to another. Thus, it provided an economic way to ship 90%
of the world trade goods across the globe and as a result has benefited society in
providing for a truly open market to buy and sell goods. Cebu is home to national and
international corporations whose trading hub is centered in the international port
(cargo... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Contractors find alternative ways of transforming them into buildings that will make
an impact on the public. By using their expertise, they would be able to transform
these used containers into something useful and beneficial. These containers would
provide them the opportunity to acquire more projects and earn profit and of course
achieving a sustainable competitive advantage. Through this, contractors are also able
to add value to these containers that have once been unused. Extending the life of
these discarded materials and providing affordable infrastructures to the people is a
complete viable approach. Sturdy, convenient to transport and relatively cheap these
are some of the factors that have made the conversion of shipping containers into
modern living and working spaces an ever growing trend in some other countries.
However, little is only known about this innovation in Cebu. The proponents of this
research study the supply and demand of these shipping containers. As end users
create demand for the containers from the contractors as a finished infrastructures,
these contractors are also creating a demand of raw shipping containers from the
shipping companies. And yet there are more of these containers than what the people
demanded, making a huge gap between the abundant supply of shipping container
and the demand for them. The researchers

The Effects of Matthew Shepard s Murder It has only been 19 years since the death
of Matthew Wayne Shepard, who is also known as Matt. How and why he died was
and still is very malicious. The suffering of his loss has brought pain to those who
knew him and heard about him. But, his tragedy has been of influence to some
people. Matthew Shepard s murder has been very significant since the day of his
death and today, bringing awareness to the mistreatment of the homosexual youth and
how homophobia can influence hate crimes. Matthew Shepard was a 21 year old
homosexual college student who attended the University of Wyoming. He was
brutally attacked to death ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, in order to gain his trust, Aaron McKinney and Russell Henderson
pretended to be gay. When they got him into their car, McKinney stated that Shepard
was trying to make a move on him, causing him to act in defense and attack him.
After the attack, McKinney and Henderson were arrested and initially charged with
attempted murder, kidnapping, and aggravated robbery ( Matthew Shepard ).
Although Matthew Shepard s slaughter was a tragedy, his death has motivated gays
and lesbians to start movements and organizations to raise awareness for gay rights
and equality. There are songs, books, and movies written about Shepard.
For decades, there have been several cases and stories about how the homosexual
youth have been mistreated, and Matthew Shepard is one of the many cases. The
causes of the oppression may be disturbing to some, but they are clear: discrimination
and inequality. This issue is dividing our community into acceptance and refutation.
Those who disagree about the gap often see it as a choice between being a
heterosexual or a homosexual. Often times, the maltreatment may take place in
school, at a workplace, or public. It has been shown that still, some gay students
suffer harassment of their sexual orientation, and many, particularly athletes, stay in
the closet for fear of unfavorable treatment ( Gays on
American Propaganda and the Suppression of Dissent in...
American Propaganda and the Suppression of Dissent in World War I May we
never confuse honest dissent with disloyal subversion. Dwight D. Eisenhower On
June 28, 1914, the Archduke of Austria Hungary, Franz Ferdinand, was
assassinated. That event marked the first phase of World War I (Grayzel 10). Soon
afterward nations throughout Europe announced declarations of war. By the end
of October countries as far away as Japan, China and Brazil had become involved
(Grayzel 11). Susan R. Grayzel in the Introduction: The First World War and the

4). Even before entering the war the government had more than 5,000 agencies,
and had developed a huge appetite for money and credit (Holcombe par. 5). The
war only further amplified these needs. During the war the armed forces grew to
over four million officers and men (Holcombe par. 9). Materials to support an
army of this size to include training, housing, transportation, food, clothing and
medical concerns were considerable. More importantly the army and navy needed
modern arms and tons of ammunition. Consequently, taxes increased as federal
revenue requirements rose by nearly 400 percent between fiscal 1917 and fiscal
1919 (Holcombe par. 10). When America declared war on April 6, 1917, the war
departments sent President Wilson a message that they would need the full support
of the public to succeed in the war effort. America was staring into the face of total
war. Mobilizing a disparate population and acquiring the necessary capital to equip
the military needed a communications campaign on an unprecedented scale. One
memo submitted by the secretaries of state stated, America s great present needs are
confidence, enthusiasm, and service and these needs will not be met unless every
citizen is given the feeling of partnership ... (Murphy 17). President Wilson
responded rapidly to these reports, and within one week of declaring war the
Committee on Public Information (CPI) was created. From the very start Wilson did

Busy Backson America Analysis
Busy Backson: America
Do not dwell in the past, do not dream of the future, concentrate the mind on the
present moment, preached Buddha. In depth, I think Buddha seemed to understand
that the past is not relevant in succeeding the present. The present is meant to be
lived thoroughly with a present tense mind. Unknowingly over thinking the future
prevents the mind from enjoying the present. Dwelling over an event that occurred in
the past interferes with the natural order of living in the present. It seems unlikely to
even appreciate or enjoy the present if the past and future are what the mind is
currently thinking of. The key is to clear the mind of all negative and stressful
thoughts that arise about the future or past. Don t be a Busy Backson ... Show more

The reward at the end of the journey is not all it s put out to be if you didn t get to
enjoy the ride there. In my opinion, the biggest Busy Backson out there is America.
America today is only ever focused on the reward. To America, the journey is just
an obstacle they have to swivel around to reach their goal. In The Tao of Pooh, the
characters reveal how America is negatively a Busy Backson.
Although I ve only been working at Starbucks for three weeks, I would like to
think that I have a handle on things. At least, that s what I thought until a customer
walked up with his phone held to his ear, his wallet already in his hands, and his
order so rushed that I could barely make it out. When I asked him to repeat his
order he rolled his eyes and huffed. Excuse me, I can tell your new, but I m in a hurry,
he blurted, already taking his money out of his wallet. I was appalled. My coworker
took over as I stood idly by. Now, this is only one person, but it can be expanded to
demonstrate how much of a Busy Backson America is. People don t enjoy or admire

way it is, which is very helpful as it answers questions the analytical viewer might
have. After Judy became a cop she met the fox Nick Wild, played by Jason

pair working together. And they do indeed work together in order to, as nick puts it

Book Of Negroes
The Book of Negroes and A Boy Called Nam are two influential pieces of Canadian
literature. Published in 2007, Lawrence Hill s The Book of Negroes is a historic
fiction while A Boy Called Nam, written in 1984 by Leo Heaps, is based on a true
story. The Book of Negroes chronicles the fictional life of Aminata Diallo from the
time she is kidnapped from her West African village and sent to colonial America
as a slave to her eventual journey to freedom. Conversely, A Boy Called Nam is
about a ten year old Vietnamese refugee, his survival of the shipwrecking of his
refugee boat, which kills everyone else on board, and his new life in Canada. To
better understand the two literary works, a reader must examine the authors life in

From a young age, Lawrence Hill was immersed in the history of black Canadians
because of his parents. In 1978, his parents co founded the Ontario Black History
Society with the aim of fostering a greater awareness and appreciation of the
history of people of African descent in Canada (Ashenburg, par. 9). As a result, Hill
discovered the real Book of Negroes which was a document that listed the names of
the Black Loyalists who were granted freedom and settled in Nova Scotia
following the American Revolutionary War (Ashenburg, par. 26). This document
would later become the basis of his own novel of the same name. Wanting to learn
more on the subject, Hill made three trips to West Africa as a volunteer with
Canadian Crossroads International. There, he lived and worked in small villages
alongside the local population (Crossroads International, par. 8). He immersed
himself into the various cultures around him and met a Muslim polygamist family
who introduced him to Islam (Crossroads International, par. 8). The insights that he
developed forms an integral part of his novel, The Book of Negroes. The main
character, Aminata Diallo, is from the small village of Bayo in West Africa and
prior to her enslavement, leads the same simple village life that Hill experienced.
Aminata is also Muslim and although she is not in a polygamous relationship, the
[village] chief has four wives (Hill, 19). In addition to this, Hill s in depth
understanding of West African cultures is evident throughout the novel. The serving
of mint tea when Aminata and her parents want to share stories together is a
common tradition in many West African villages and Hill himself most likely
encountered it. He also includes passages such as: I could tell by the way the pail
was balanced near the front of her head...that she was a Bamana which demonstrates
his ability to
Diamonds Research Papers
Diamonds are the ultimate gemstone, with few weaknesses and numerous strengths.
Diamonds are known for being the hardest substance on earth, but few know
diamond is four times harder than the next hardest natural mineral. One of the
diamonds only flaws are its cleavage. A skilled diamond jeweler can prevent a
diamondfrom being split by positioning it to be struck at the perfect placement.
Diamonds have a wide color range, high refraction, low reactivity to chemicals,
and extreme hardness and durability. Also, the diamond is Aprils birthstone.
Diamonds are typically described as cut, clarity, color, and carat. Cut refers to the
shape of the stone and the quality. The cube and the octahedron are normal forms
for the diamond to be in. The clarity of a diamond is the presence of its impurities,
internal fractures, inclusions and the overall cleanliness in the mineral. Its color,
tends to be pale yellow, brown, grey, white, blue, black, reddish, greenish, and
colorless. Strongly colored diamonds are much more valuable. Colored diamonds are
rare, but that just makes the price go up. A carat is one fifth of a gram. Diamonds that

Before anyone can actually start mining, prospectors have to locate the diamonds
first. Once the pipes are found, huge amounts of soil is extracted. In order to make
the process more efficient, the rocks and the soil are moved to a different location to
begin examination. At that location the ore is processed and the rough diamonds are
extracted. Rough stones are then sorted into different categories, there they are sold,
cut, polished, and commercialized. Another mining method is called Alluvial
Mining. This type of mining is usually in riverbanks or beaches. It involves the
building of walls and the diversion of rivers. Once the water gets emptied, bulldozers
exploit the ground. When the diamond rich soil is reached, it gets extracted from the
ground and transported to a special screening

Corporate Social Responsibility And Access Of Finance
The article Corporate Social Responsibility and Access to Finance was written by
Cheng et al. (2014) in order to show that firms that have better CSR performance are
less capital constrained. The aim of the essay is to argue that the analysis of the
relationship between CSR policies and the access to financeis a well done research
with interesting arguments and analysis; however, it has several limitations, which
will be examined. The aim will be achieved through a critical analysis of the paper.
It will be done in four stages: first, the key arguments of the article, second, the
strong points of the article, third, the limitations of the research, and final stage, the
specifications of the outcome. In this paper Cheng et al. (2014) argued that the
implementation of successful CSR policies leads to lower idiosyncratic risk due to
improved stakeholder engagement, which reduce agency costs of an organisation,
and increased transparency, which results a company becoming less capitally
constrained and enhances a firm s access to finance in capital markets. In order to
achieve their aim the authors use cross sectional analysis of firms around the world
and apply different variables and methods. They concluded that there is a link
between good CSR activities and access to finance; however, social and
environmental components of CSR are more significant for investors than the factor
of governance since the former ones have higher impact on capital constraints. It can

Pros And Cons Of Mandatory Vehicle Breathalyzers
Mandatory vehicle breathalyzers What if a person s car would not start if there
was alcohol detected in the bloodstream anytime they tried to drive? Vehicle
breathalyzers make this a reality. Ignition interlocks installed in cars measure
alcohol on the driver s breath. Interlocks keep the car from starting if the driver has
a BAC above a certain level, usually 0.02%. They re used for people convicted of
drunk driving and are highly effective at preventing repeat offenses while installed.
Mandating interlocks for all offenders, including first time offenders, will have the
greatest impact. (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention 1) Driving is a

On Course By Skip Downing And 7 Habits
Writing is a skill most people acquire when they are young and develop those skills
as they grow older over time. As children, we learn how to read and write when in
elementary school. Our school teachers teach us how to write; the size, the style,
and the format. The books On Course by Skip Downing and 7 Habits by Stephen
Covey, they are doing something similar. They explain to us about different ways
to be effective, and how to better those skills. Both of these authors cover many
different topics covering most areas of our lives. They do go into detail about how
we think, and how that affects our daily lives. I believe that the most important
habits and topics these two books cover would be Think Win Win, Seek First To
Understand, Than To Be Understood, and then finally Discovering Your Preferred
Ways To Learning. All these chapters throughout these two books stick out in my
opinion, thus why I think they are the ones I want to share. I firmly believe that
everyone should learn these few tips because it will benefit them greatly.
The first topic I want to mention is when Stephen R. Covey mentions the concept of
Think Win Win. The concept of thinking win win means that it is a state of mind
where you think of what benefits you and what benefits others. Covey mentions 6
different thinking paradigms in this chapter as well; Win/win, win/lose, lose/win,
lose/lose, win, and win/win or no deal. He explains to us that ways of thinking and
paradigms form who we are,

when a user search a query those web sites can not show as a results on Google.
Because the keywords can not occur in URL and meta tags, the web site is not a

the query s keywords. Furthermore, the editor of the web page has to add new

The Mental Health Treatment Of Australia
In the Mental Health treatment we can distinguish two different approaches to patient
treatment, this is known as models of treatment, firstly we have a medical model, and
secondary we a using person recovery model.
To understanding of recovery in Australia, we have to acknowledge that is heavily
influenced by recovery research and literature from the USA, Canada and New
Zealand
It is suggested that the term recovery has been adopted in Australia from the late
1980s (Lakeman, 2004, p.212; McGrath et al., 2007). It has become popular in mental
health discourse and influences policy directives and service delivery initiatives
(Meehan et al., 2007; Rickwood, 2004; Slade et al., 2008).
Medical model in the mental health mostly concentrates on the treatment of the
physiological aspect of illness, this model is used at the inpatients admissions, by
psychiatrist overall in the clinical /medical settings.
There are many definitions of term Medical Model many of them suggested that it is
a scientifically proven process, concentrates on the treatment of the symptoms, is not
client centred, and medical professionals are in charge of making and presiding with
consumer treatment plan , some professionals also describe the medical model as the
Western approach to illness.
When we talking about mental health recovery we will take under consideration not
only medical model but also the effect of psychotherapy, and person centred model of
recovery.
Recovery in the mental health is
Persuasive Speech On Video Games
Attention material: Do you like to play video games and be able to play them in
school? Central idea: Video games are beneficial for students in the classroom and
home. Using video games in schools or higher institutions can help build teamwork,
foster decisions, critical and strategic skills useful in schools, work and life.
Credibility: Who remembers Super Mario brothers? According to Guinness Record,
Super Mario Bros is Nintendo s best selling game. My experience with video games
growing up is that I remember playing Super Mario and Tetris with my cousins.
Every time I played, I felt an adrenaline rush due to the excitement, so, I became
competitive, and was always looking for a challenge. We would stay up late
whenever we get can our gaming in, while our parents were asleep. I even fought
with my cousins for hogging up the controllers, but in the long run, I learned to be
patient and strategize against other players such as my cousins.
Preview: Today, I will discuss why video games should be part of a class curriculum,
and how it benefits students struggling academically.
Transition to Body: There are many students struggling in schools, but without an
engaging and fun outlet that promotes learning, these students eventually stop going
to class or end up failing. This poses a problem with the future of learning.
Body
There is a lack of student motivation, and lack of attendance in schools. How can we
spice up the school curriculum? How can struggling students do better? There are
options for students who have not responded well to traditional methods.
A.There are many factors that contribute to lack of motivation.
The lack of funds, supplies, resources can deplete motivation for a student in the
classroom.
Lack of information such as students learning styles poses challenges for teachers to
engage students.
All students have a different learning style and can benefit from hands on or real life
activities in the classroom.
Clear goals allow students to engage more and feel motivated to participate and do
better in school. Transition to Second Main Point: Video games can be used as a
tool in schools, to help build teamwork, social skills, and critical thinking skills.

Presenting People in Two Scavengers in a Truck, Two...
Presenting People in Two Scavengers in a Truck, Two Beautiful People in a
Mercedes, and Island Man In this essay I will compare the ways in which the poets
present people in Two Scavengers in a truck, two beautiful people in a Mercedes
by Lawrence Ferlinghetti and Island Man by Grace Nichols. In this essay I will
look at the shape, structure, poetic devices and language in both poems. Firstly I
will examine what the two poems are about and the ways how both poets portray
the people in the poems. The poem Two Scavengers in a truck, two beautiful
people in a Mercedes is about a coincidence meeting of the two working class
scavengers and a beautiful, rich couple in Mercedes. This poem was set in America
and was aimed to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There is no punctuation used throughout the poem but capital letters are. Reading
this poem I have noticed that Lawrence Ferlinghetti uses lots of poetic devices
such as alliteration short skirt , repetition elegant and the , and similes looking
down like some gargoyle Quasimodo . This phrase makes me think of vultures
(garbage men) (types of bird that eat dead meat) gazing upon their pray (couple in
the Mercedes.) The language in the poem is very descriptive and vivid. The poet
introduces color to the poem too, to show more vivid images. He did that to attract
more of the reader s attention. E.g. He used color to describe the yellow garbage
truck and the traffic light. From this we can see that the poet uses color
effectively. The poem Island Man was written by Grace Nichols. Its about an
immigrant from the West Indies, dreaming about sound of Caribbean sea. He
wakes up to the roar of London traffic. The poet is commenting on the difficulty for
immigrant adapt to a urban environment. The poem Island Man gives us a picture
of two different worlds and is based on dreams and reality. The poem is divided into
6 stanzas. I think that the stanzas are used to contrast the experiences that the island
man have had. There are two distinct parts of the poem, Caribbean and London. In
my opinion looking at this poem the lines reflect the shape and action of the sea. The

HOW THE UNDERSTANDING OF THE BLESSING HAS CHANGED MY LIFE
INTRODUCTION
The understanding of God s blessings has changed my life and has caused me to rise
above every negative circumstance that I have faced. As the years goes by I began to
reflect of God s blessings upon my life. How much He loves me and wants to bless
me, otherwise He would not have invested the life of His only Son to redeem me,
and He would not have given me so many opportunities to be develop my full
potential in Him. There have been times when I have go around thinking that God
has been so disappointed with me, and that He doesn t want to bless me. That s
simply not true at all. I believe that God has high hope and expectations for me and
He will continue to change me as I stay in his word. (2 Corinthians 3:18)
I believe in the blessings God speak over my life in His word and I m faithfully
expect to see the full manifestation of those blessings. Isaiah 30:18 says, And
therefore the Lord earnestly] waits [expecting, looking, and longing,] to be gracious
to you; and therefore He lifts Himself up, that He may have mercy on you and show
loving kindness to you. For the Lord is a God of justice. Blessed (happy, fortunate, to
be envied) are all those who [ earnestly] wait for Him, who expect and look and long

Cons Of Bilingual Education
Is bilingual education necessary?
We find that in the present. Bilingual education has a role and necessary in our life

Doctor Faustus
Things aren t always as they appear to be. This is true in John Faustus s case in
terms of his relationship with Mephistopheles and in turn the devil himself. Poor
Faustus believes it is he who has called upon the demon Mephistopheles and it is his
tongue that orders the servant of hell, yet he could not be any more mistaken. In
reality, Faustus is the one with strings attached to him and it is Lucifer,
Mephistopheles, and the Evil Angel playing the role of the puppeteer. Nevertheless,

Faustus would have been better off knowing where he stood in relation to Gods plan
and not trying to outreach himself. Faustus agreed with the views and opinions of
Christianity, and followed those ideas most of his life, lust consumed him though
and lead him to excess. Doctor Faustus should have learned from his studies of
theology of the dangers brought on by overstepping ones boundaries in an attempt for
an excess of earthly desires.
Evil is better in the moment, as goodness is better later on. This is the message
given to us by Christopher Marlowe in his play Doctor Faustus. Faustus let the Evil
Trinity persuade him into instant pleasures, such as money, women, humor, and
knowledge in order to take away the everlasting pleasure that God could provide
through Heaven. The infernal powers were blinders to him, limiting his view and
perception of the bigger picture and what truly mattered. One should never lose sight
of the bigger picture, of their end goal, in all that they do, whether it be in school, or
in sports, or in life. Instant pleasures, as Doctor Faustus found out, often times lead
toward empty

Personal Statement On Business And Public Relations Essay

On Business and Public Relations
My Major: Public Relations
My Related Field: Business The public relations major at Franklin College requires
the student to have a minor or related field. I choose to have a related field in
business, which means I am required to take 12 credit hours in business courses. I
have already taken four business courses and I am currently in my fifth. My first two
business courses were Introduction to Business and Principles of Economics. These
courses introduced me to business and showed me how to work in a business
setting. The next couple classes I took were Principles of Accounting and
Principles of Accounting II. In these classes we learned how to analyze a company
s economy and utilize their money to the fullest potential. I am currently taking a
course called Introduction to Taxation. In this class we are learning how to
complete and fill out taxes. In my accounting classes, not only did we learn how to
do an income statement and a balance sheet, but we also completed a case study
where we applied it. This process gave me an overall understanding of how the
financial side of business works. In my business class we learned how the operation
of a business works. We learned market trends and learned about stocks and investing.
We also learned how negative public relationscan drastically effect the value of the
business. In my introduction to taxation class, we are currently doing case studies
over how to fill out a

He describes the movements that spread due to the members of Bauhaus fleeing from
Nazi Germany, how it affected America and the future architects approach to design.
Firstly what he puts across is the minds sets of the architects or as they were called
in the time White Gods this alone I believe could have done some significant
damage. This notion was made clear when reading about the worker housing
exhibition project (Weissenhof Werbund Project) undertaken by Mies Van De
Rohe, Le Corbusier, Stam brothers and Victor Bourgeois along with 11 other
German big names. The brief was simply to design worker housing, but these
architects all had an agenda, to obliterate bourgeois buildings for good, to simply
out it. They designed in white, grey and in straight lines, as the book describes,
How did worker housing look? It looked non bourgeois within an inch of its life...

workers desperately tried to make the rooms more comfortable and more homey . The
need for user consultation was completely disregarded, the workers were thought as

Invention Exhibit Each Area
In the Places of Invention exhibit each area was sectioned based upon time, color,
and geographic location. The visitor took a colorful journey through time across
the United States. The materials used for the exhibit includes plexiglass, sintra,
plywood, glass, metal, quartz like material, and plastic kickboards. The pexiglass
was placed over laminated pieces of sintra or plywood to create the signs. The
signage and wall text was mostly white with boarders of the section s theme colorand
the texts in black. Many of the signs and wall pieces had objects (gears, headphone,
and cystoscopes) printed into paper behind the pexiglass. The base of the case
hold the artifacts were metal and the covering for the cases was made of glass. The
Hartford section used dark orange, brownish orange, and lighter orange. The
additional color used for signage and wall text where white with black text which
made it easier for the guest to read in the low lighting. The color orange is
associated with creativity, change and determination. This goes well with the tone of
the Hartford section because it discusses the 1800s in a factory town where the
boom of the industrial revolution was taking place, a time of intense creativity and
change. In the Medical Alley section the design team used red. This section
discussed medical invention of pacemakers and how open heart surgery was
revolutionized. I feel red was very fitting because it made the section feel intense. In
this section the red
Monochronic Culture And Western Culture In The
Workplace
1. Introduction Have you ever think about you as an eastern people are going to
work in the western country? Do you think you will face a lot of problems not
only the weather but also the culture shock? As we know that western culture and
eastern culture is totally different. Not only the life style but also the working
style. There are many different kinds of examples about the culture in the
workplace. To know all the different culture between your own country and other
country is important, so that we will not offend to other people. Today we are
going look at the different between western country and eastern country. 2. Working
style 2.1 Time focus It is very common to see employees pick up their phones every
time or even during an important meeting. This is a normal thing you can see in a
policeronic culture. Taiwan is polychronic culture, Taiwanese are emphasis on
personal and doing work more flexibility, they are willing to change the deadline
when there is in need. So they can have long term relationship with their colleagues,
managers and partnership. People with monochronic culture are more concentrate on
time and would like to do a thing in one time. They prefer well organized and stick
on their plain. This is how monochronic culture works. (ж–‡еЊЇе ±, 2012) Sweden is
monochronic culture, so employees do not like to be interrupted by phone calls
during the meeting or going to meet others in the meeting. They think this will
influence their working schedule. 2.2

Tomcats. The Libyan missile missed the Tomcat and the Libyan jets turned around
to go back to their base. The US Tomcats decided they were still in danger, so they
shot both of the Libyan jets down. The United States reported after the mission that
both Libyans pilots ejected safely and their parachutes came up, but in the official
Audio Recording of the US, one of the pilot s states that one of the Libyan pilot s
parachutes did not go up, contradicting their
Identity In The 19th Century
IDENTITY CRISIS IN SELECT NOVELS OF SALMAN RUSHDIE The question
of identity is the most controversial issue in postcolonial time and literature and it can
be regarded the most important because of its crisis exist in all postcolonial
communities. Due to the circumstances of post colonial era and the problematic
conditions that faced newly freed nations and countries in their search and formation
of selfidentitythe crisis floated on the surface. In the following of World War II, the
act of decolonization and libration of nations under colonial rule provoked a
noteworthy move in the direction of recreating social and individual identities. The
period also marked by the struggle of decolonization in all the levels of life, culture,...

Since the identity is not a stable and fixed notion as Hall confirms ―Identity
emerges as a kind of unsettled space or an unresolved question in that space, between
a number of intersecting discourses and the impact of colonial legacy was multi
dimensional besides there was a different consequences of colonialism in different
locations, the issue of identity appeared in different shapes and forms. Collective and
individual identities also differ physically and psychologically. The resistance of
decolonization process took various outlines due to countries, societies and
individuals. Therefore, identity is not simply imposed. It is also chosen, and actively
used, albeit within particular social contexts and constraints. Against dominant
representations of others there is resistance. Within structures of dominance, there is
agency.
Identity crisis is the major suffering of the many people in the present day world. It
is quite natural every one thinks of their own identity to grow themselves with self
respect. Afro American, British and Indian every writer nowadays focused their
writings keeping in the mind the sense of identity. There is no exception to the writer
like Salman Rushdie. His novels also reflect the question of identity and explore the
philosophical significance of ideals and concepts.

A dolls house
Extrinsic paper.
Origen of the Tarantella dance.
The tarantella is a dance originated from Italian culture and folklore. This dance was
commonly found in the lower and middle classes. The tarantella is known as a dance
to cure sickness and as courtship. For the courtship style of the dance the woman uses
very fast movements to excite the love of her partner. In the other hand the man tries
to spell her with elegance and tenderness. The dance is meant to be dance with a
couple whether is man and woman or two women dancing together, as symbol of
unity and the only time these two separate is to run to each others arms again.
Therefore it is considerate unlucky to dance the tarantella alone.
There are three different myths that inform where the tarantella dance could
possibly come from. The first one is the bite of a Tarantula or spider. According to
this myth the dance was use to cure who ever was poisoned by the bite if a spider.

How Does Gram-Negative Bacteria Structure
Gram negative bacteria structure
The lipid A palmitoyltransferase pagP is an outer membrane enzyme of the gram
negative bacteria Escherichia coli. Gram negative bacteria are surrounded by two
lipid bilayer membranes, which enclose the periplasmic space composed of
peptidoglycan that contains ions and proteins. The two membranes differ in
composition and function. With respect to composition, the inner or cytoplasmic
membrane is composed of phospholipids, such as phosphatidylethanolamine,
phospatidylglycerol and cardiolipin found in both the inner and outer leaflet. The
outer membrane is highly asymmetric with its inner leaflet having the same
phospholipid composition as the inner membrane and the outer leaflet consisting of
lipopolysaccharides. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In order for the bacteria to establish a successful attachment on the host surfaces, they
need to have an adaptation ability towards external changes. Certain cellular
regulators transmit signals from the exterior to the inner part of the cell via
cytoplasmic secondary messenger systems or so called alomers. In bacteria this
function is performed by the 3 ,5 cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP) which is
an ubiquitous molecule found in both eukaryotes and prokaryotes. The cAMP targets
its receptor, the cAMP receptor protein (CRP) and this CRP cAMP complex formed
binds to the DNA in order to activate the expression of genes that code for enzymes
responsible for the supply of energy of the cell, besides the cAMP is a derivative of
ATP independent of glucose. It is studied that the CRP cAMP is a global regulator
of gene expression of almost 200 operons in E.coli. Type 1 fimbriation is
dependent on growth phase and it is found that CRP cAMP regulates type 1
fimbriae expression during the exponential growth phase. CRP and cAMP levels are
influenced by environmental conditions mainly by glucose availability and
osmolarity. These particular conditions affect also the DNA topology in E. coli.
There are others global regulators, expect the CRP cAMP, found that affect the type

Australian Voice Essay
Hi everyone! How are you today? Nice to see all you guys here. Let s me introduce
myself first. My name is Jane Kennedy. I am one of writers of the film The Castle .
I m sure that everyone has watched The Castle , right? I m invited to be here and
tell you about this movie as well as how I and my team have built up and shown the
ideas about the voice of Australians through it. As you know, everyone including
Australians have their own way of understanding and an opinion of the world and
people in it. That s called their voice . However, the way Australians view and
understand the world is unique. Let s come back to The Castle , this is a story about
the Kerrigan family who together stand up to fight against the government for their...

It gives them love and they love it too. The next thing I want to say which explores
Australians unique ways of thinking is their belief in what is right or wrong no
matter who is involved. Because the house means everything to Australians people,
they will do everything they can to protect it. My fellow worker also director of The
Castle , Rob Sitch has cleverly and effectively used many film techniques to express
this idea. Do you remember when Darryl and Dennis stand in the Federal court?
There is a big contrast between the underdog and the authorities. The close up and
the medium shots were taken to show his confidence in the facial expression and
body language. On the other hand, the low angel camera shot up to the judge
emphasis the power of the law. These both reveal Darryl s determination of battling
even when he knows that he is fighting against the government. By these techniques,
it s clear to see that no matter how hard the situation is, no matter how limited
individuals ability is, Australians people will still be brave to stand up, fight for their
right and protect their family.
And, last but not least, the very important thing I have to tell you is Australians
willingness to help and fight for underdogs. Later in the movie, Hammil comes to
Darryl and asks to help him to keep the house. In the scene when they went to the
High Court, the costume status has been
The Importance Of Online Websites
The process I have been using to deduce whether online sources are reputable are as
follows.
First, if using a website, I look to see if it is one of the approved type of resources I
am allowed to use for my research paper. If it is not, I discard it and search for
another source. If I determine that it is viable, I evaluate the credibility of the website
to determine if it is authentic by looking at the home page, various articles and
sources (Vandermey, 2012). I also evaluate the date the article was written or
published (Vandermey, 2012). Depending on the topic I am writing about, I generally
decide whether the date is acceptable based on the amount of research available on
my topic (Vandermey, 2012).
I have found that determining ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

American Beverage Institute (ABI, n.d.). The American Beverage Institute represents
restaurants, entrepreneurs, and beverage companies of the hospitality industry and
coins itself as the only organization dedicated to protection of responsible on premise
consumption of adult beverages, yet, their actual mission is quite contrary (ABI,
n.d.). The American Beverage Institute has instead named itself as an advocate
against lowering the federal standard to 0.05 BAC (ABI, n.d.).
I have found that the ABI is biased in their presentation of lowering the BAC to .05
as they only present research which supports their mission. The information on their
website is well supported and documented through various research based
organizations and the writing is professional, clear, and well sourced. Many of the
articles do not have authors, rather the entire article is attributed to the organization
as whole. In this situation, I decided that since it is a reputable organization, and the
articles are backed with reputable sources, I would move forward even though I
could not find one specific author for some articles. Although this website is biased
August Wilson s The Piano Lesson
The Lesson of The Piano Lesson The theater opens, and the train sounds as August
Wilson releases his fourth of ten plays The Piano Lesson, begins. August Wilson
writes this play in order to find the legacy of the piano by using the connections of
domestic drama to explore questions of personal and cultural inheritance (Elam

Prize for Drama. In August Wilsons play, The PianoLesson, the Reader Response

Tertullian And Justin Martyr
Both Tertullian and Justin Martyr are apologists defending the Christian faith;
however, their approach is from two different mindsets. The mindset in which Justin
Martyr approaches faith, reason, and philosophy shares similarities with the ideals of
early Christian scientists who sought to grow in their faiththrough their studies and
therefore saw their studies as extensions of their faith. Justin saw that the faith in Jesus
Christ was the inevitable answer to his philosophical questions. Justin utilizes the
prophesies and history of the Jewish people to explain his reasoning as to the
soundness of the philosophy and faith in Christ. Even arguing that Plato, himself,
developed his line of reasoning from the prophets and so by careful
Compare And Contrast Casey At The Bat
In the poem ВЁCasey at the BatВЁ and Bible story ВЁDavid and GoliathВЁ the
characters David and Casey have many similarities and differences. The first way
that they are similar is they were both faced with big problems. David s big
problem was that he had to face a giant, in the Bible it says, 4 The Philistine army
had a hero named Goliathwho was from the town of Gath and was over nine feet
tall. 5 He wore a bronze helmet and had bronze armor to protect his chest and legs.
The chest armor alone weighed about one hundred twenty five pounds. He carried
a bronze sword strapped on his back, 7 and his spear was so big that the iron
spearhead alone weighed more than fifteen pounds. A soldier always walked in front
of Goliath to carry his shield. ,and, 41 Goliath came toward David, walking behind
the soldier who was carrying his shield. which means they were about to fight....

because they both had teams that were losing. In the text Casey at the Bat , it says,
The Outlook wasn t brilliant for the Mudville nine that day:The score stood four to

scared that they wouldn t fight ). The final similarity is that they both got
Rap Is Poetry Charles R Smith
Charles R. Smith conveys his idea as to what a poet is about so beautifully. While
listening to him, I visualized his words. I created pictures in my imagination, his
words were relaxing. I have loved poetry for as long as I can remember. I grew up
listening to all kinds of music which is a form of poetry. I remember living at home
with my parents and on Sunday mornings as they were making breakfast, they
would play the Sunday morning classics with Hal Jackson on the radio. At the time,
I dreaded the music they listened to. Oh no, not again Smokey Robinson, Diana
Ross, The Temptations, Harold Melvin the Blue Notes the list went on and on.
Regardless to how I felt about it, I listened I listened to every word, every note the
singer belted out. These musicians shaped my parents, brought back childhood
memories for them. This... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While watching Rap is Poetry Jay Z stated, Rap is poetry, it s thought provoking and
there s thought behind it and there s great writing in rap as well (0:10). All music is
poetry. I can understand why people are judgmental of rap music, sometimes it can
be angry but it is an artist telling his or her story. Most likely, it is a story that
someone can relate to. This is the case with all music not just rap Country, R B,
Jazz, Pop, etc., somebody somewhere can relate to the words being said. I was
reintroduced to the types of poetry in Genre study: Teaching fiction and nonfiction
books: Chapter 13 Poetry. From the readings and videos, I was influenced to change
my final research project in the M.Ed program, to researching the benefits of poetry
in the classroom (Thank you Prof. Michaels for the inspiration!). I think teaching
poetry to students would be wonderful! Students should have exposure to different
kinds of poetry. It allows students to express who they are and by doing so it helps
them to identify with themselves and the world around

  • 2. Reflection Paper On Dance Performance On December 1, 2017, in the University Theatre at California State University, Dominguez Hills, I observed the fall dance concert Rise. It was choreographed by Amy Michelle Allen, Marco A, Carreon, Sarah Cashmore, Jeff Hendrix, Erin Landry, Doris Ressl Acosta, and Kenneth Walker, with the long cast of dancers. The production was pleasing, and would not have been believable without the work from production designers, Frederick Depontee and Cheryl Sheldon. Rise is played out in eight different danceroutines, which were Xtra Xtra, Scar Tissue, Hart Broken, Things Are A Stirrin , and the rest are intermissions such as Female Energy, Women, Exotica, Strength In Numbers, and Makina. This fall dance concert was filled with joy, darkness, torture, culture, and women s rights, right when you sit down and observe through all 8 dance performances. It would have been 9 dance routines but the dancer who was suppose to perform Hart Broken had an injury, which made a putt off. Nevertheless the show must go on, it starts off with the first and second performance, Xtra Xtra and Scar Tissue. Revealing that both performances were different themes because Xtra Xtra had the dancers in radiant colors and seemed to be energetic, whereas the performers in Scar Tissue were clothed in black attire, such as tutus, dresses, and tights, yet still energetic. This brought to my attention that the whole dance performances were contrast to each other. Throughout the routines of the dance concert, the

Although Curley s wife is the one who refers to them as the weak ones , she herself is included in this group. The theme which is emphasised in this section is the overriding theme that humanity is small and fragile in comparison with the forces that control our lives. Steinbeck shows great compassion to this group of people, he describes is great detail before this section of the hopes and dreams of each and every one of the weak ones and how they will never be achieved. A change and hope of my procuring Ebenezer. (Dickens 23) Ebenezer Scrooge, a fictional character of Charles Dickenshas the chance to change his way before it is too late, but in the real world it is hard to change. According to an issue of Harvard Women s Health Watch, Studies have also shown that goals are easier to reach if they are specific. Setting goals is proven to help establish change better, than someone who has a broader goals. For example, someone trying to lose weight might want their goal to be jog for twenty minutes each day and they will change faster than someone who is also trying to lose weight yet sets the goal of jog more. More could mean an hour each week or each month, and the goal leaves no room for improvement, which is essential to change. In an interview for a Reuters news article, former gang member Stephanie Lane states that Now I feel like I ve got too much to lose. Boxing keeps my head on straight and gets me back in shape. To combat her problem of relapsing to the gang life, Lane took specific measures which helped change her outlook on life. Taking action and setting goals is a major way to combat changing. Although some critics say, we can not change with just goals in mind, but look deeper in themselves. , people can change, but they need to follow the steps. Havard states, different strategies are needed at different stages. This proves that people need different strategies or different goals in order to progress further. In order to change, people must have specific goals in mind, but not broad
  • 5. White Trash Primer Essay English 112 7 May 2013 The Judgement In the short, personal memoir, White Trash Primer, Lacy M. Johnson talks about a girl s life from childhood to her early adult life. Johnson begins her piece by talking about the girl s childhood that seemed like an average child s life growing up in a rural area. This girl grew up in a family where her family was constantly working hard on a farm to get by. As time went on, life s circumstances changed. The child began to mature and the family was forced to move due to financial problems. From the move, the family went from owning a farm and selling corn and soy beans, to a family that was forced to work at Wal Mart. Depression eventually takes over the girl s life and her lifestyle changed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Another great thing I took away from reading this memoir is that everyone looks at the same things, but in different ways. For example, the main character in Johnson s memoir constantly went into Wal Mart looking for a job. After applying six times, she finally got hired. Some might have seen her as being a pest or an interruption to the other employees, while others saw her as being a determined individual that knew what she wanted. Everyone saw the same lady walking into the store, but all of their impressions were very different. Learning that everyone sees the world in a different manner then led to me wanting to be kind hearted woman to everyone that I meet. Impressions are everything, so it is better to give a person the benefit of the doubt since their life stories are not revealed at the time they are seen. The last lesson I took away from reading Johnson s piece is a person can go from living a comfortable life without the amenities, but with all the necessities, to a life where there is nothing at all. There are certain events that happen in your life that can change your life completely. Johnson is not the only person who is extremely satisfied with this piece. Many of her readers feel the same joy. One of her readers by the name of Claudia Rankine writes on an online blog saying: I was riveted by this piece written with the haunting interiority of poetry and the compelling drive of prose. Much like being caught in a novel by
  • 6. Globalization Of Shipping Containers Essay CHAPTER ONE INTRODUCTION Rationale of the Study Containerization is a system of freight transport that transports trade goods from ports to ports. This system is based on a range of steel intermodal containers (also shipping containers ).These containers are built to standardized dimensions and can be loaded and unloaded, stacked, transported efficiently over long distances, and transferred from one mode of transport to another. Thus, it provided an economic way to ship 90% of the world trade goods across the globe and as a result has benefited society in providing for a truly open market to buy and sell goods. Contractors find alternative ways of transforming them into buildings that will make an impact on the public. By using their expertise, they would be able to transform these used containers into something useful and beneficial. These containers would provide them the opportunity to acquire more projects and earn profit and of course achieving a sustainable competitive advantage. Through this, contractors are also able to add value to these containers that have once been unused. Extending the life of these discarded materials and providing affordable infrastructures to the people is a complete viable approach. Sturdy, convenient to transport and relatively cheap these are some of the factors that have made the conversion of shipping containers into modern living and working spaces an ever growing trend in some other countries. However, little is only known about this innovation in Cebu. The proponents of this research study the supply and demand of these shipping containers. As end users create demand for the containers from the contractors as a finished infrastructures, these contractors are also creating a demand of raw shipping containers from the shipping companies. And yet there are more of these containers than what the people demanded, making a huge gap between the abundant supply of shipping container and the demand for them. The researchers
  • 7. Matthew Shepard Research Paper Jana Isreal Ms. Marina Spears English 1101 Research Paper Rough Draft 13 July 2017 The Effects of Matthew Shepard s Murder It has only been 19 years since the death of Matthew Wayne Shepard, who is also known as Matt. How and why he died was and still is very malicious. The suffering of his loss has brought pain to those who knew him and heard about him. But, his tragedy has been of influence to some people. Matthew Shepard s murder has been very significant since the day of his death and today, bringing awareness to the mistreatment of the homosexual youth and how homophobia can influence hate crimes. Matthew Shepard was a 21 year old homosexual college student who attended the University of Wyoming. He was brutally attacked to death ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, in order to gain his trust, Aaron McKinney and Russell Henderson pretended to be gay. When they got him into their car, McKinney stated that Shepard was trying to make a move on him, causing him to act in defense and attack him. After the attack, McKinney and Henderson were arrested and initially charged with attempted murder, kidnapping, and aggravated robbery ( Matthew Shepard ). Although Matthew Shepard s slaughter was a tragedy, his death has motivated gays and lesbians to start movements and organizations to raise awareness for gay rights and equality. There are songs, books, and movies written about Shepard. For decades, there have been several cases and stories about how the homosexual youth have been mistreated, and Matthew Shepard is one of the many cases. The causes of the oppression may be disturbing to some, but they are clear: discrimination and inequality. This issue is dividing our community into acceptance and refutation. Those who disagree about the gap often see it as a choice between being a heterosexual or a homosexual. Often times, the maltreatment may take place in school, at a workplace, or public. It has been shown that still, some gay students suffer harassment of their sexual orientation, and many, particularly athletes, stay in the closet for fear of unfavorable treatment ( Gays on

Dwight D. Eisenhower On June 28, 1914, the Archduke of Austria Hungary, Franz Ferdinand, was assassinated. That event marked the first phase of World War I (Grayzel 10). Soon afterward nations throughout Europe announced declarations of war. By the end of October countries as far away as Japan, China and Brazil had become involved (Grayzel 11). Susan R. The causes most... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... 4). Even before entering the war the government had more than 5,000 agencies, and had developed a huge appetite for money and credit (Holcombe par. 5). The war only further amplified these needs. During the war the armed forces grew to over four million officers and men (Holcombe par. 9). Materials to support an army of this size to include training, housing, transportation, food, clothing and medical concerns were considerable. More importantly the army and navy needed modern arms and tons of ammunition. Consequently, taxes increased as federal revenue requirements rose by nearly 400 percent between fiscal 1917 and fiscal 1919 (Holcombe par. 10). When America declared war on April 6, 1917, the war departments sent President Wilson a message that they would need the full support of the public to succeed in the war effort. America was staring into the face of total war. Mobilizing a disparate population and acquiring the necessary capital to equip the military needed a communications campaign on an unprecedented scale. One memo submitted by the secretaries of state stated, America s great present needs are confidence, enthusiasm, and service and these needs will not be met unless every citizen is given the feeling of partnership ... (Murphy 17). President Wilson responded rapidly to these reports, and within one week of declaring war the Committee on Public Information (CPI) was created. From the very start Wilson did not

In depth, I think Buddha seemed to understand that the past is not relevant in succeeding the present. The present is meant to be lived thoroughly with a present tense mind. Unknowingly over thinking the future prevents the mind from enjoying the present. Dwelling over an event that occurred in the past interferes with the natural order of living in the present. It seems unlikely to even appreciate or enjoy the present if the past and future are what the mind is currently thinking of. The reward at the end of the journey is not all it s put out to be if you didn t get to enjoy the ride there. In my opinion, the biggest Busy Backson out there is America. America today is only ever focused on the reward. To America, the journey is just an obstacle they have to swivel around to reach their goal. In The Tao of Pooh, the characters reveal how America is negatively a Busy Backson. Although I ve only been working at Starbucks for three weeks, I would like to think that I have a handle on things. At least, that s what I thought until a customer walked up with his phone held to his ear, his wallet already in his hands, and his order so rushed that I could barely make it out. When I asked him to repeat his order he rolled his eyes and huffed. Excuse me, I can tell your new, but I m in a hurry, he blurted, already taking his money out of his wallet. I was appalled. My coworker took over as I stood idly by. Now, this is only one person, but it can be expanded to demonstrate how much of a Busy Backson America is. People don t enjoy or admire the time that they

Stereotypes In Disney s Zootopia Despite being another film featuring talking animals, Disney s Zootopia can be enjoyed thoroughly by most audiences no matter the age from the plot, to the animation, to the random facts and references there is plenty to like. Be warned though, as there are spoilers here. The story starts out with young bunny Judy Hops played by Ginnifer Goodwin(EelyajekiM) explaining why the society is the way it is, which is very helpful as it answers questions the analytical viewer might have. After Judy became a cop she met the fox Nick Wild, played by Jason Bateman, who is a borderline criminal. This sets up for the trope of the unlikely pair working together. And they do indeed work together in order to, as nick puts it while talking to the chief of the police solve a case you guys haven t cracked in two weeks (Zootopia/Transcript). • 11. Book Of Negroes The Book of Negroes and A Boy Called Nam are two influential pieces of Canadian literature. Published in 2007, Lawrence Hill s The Book of Negroes is a historic fiction while A Boy Called Nam, written in 1984 by Leo Heaps, is based on a true story. The Book of Negroes chronicles the fictional life of Aminata Diallo from the time she is kidnapped from her West African village and sent to colonial America as a slave to her eventual journey to freedom. Conversely, A Boy Called Nam is about a ten year old Vietnamese refugee, his survival of the shipwrecking of his refugee boat, which kills everyone else on board, and his new life in Canada. To better understand the two literary works, a reader must examine the authors life in addition to the text.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... From a young age, Lawrence Hill was immersed in the history of black Canadians because of his parents. In 1978, his parents co founded the Ontario Black History Society with the aim of fostering a greater awareness and appreciation of the history of people of African descent in Canada (Ashenburg, par. 9). As a result, Hill discovered the real Book of Negroes which was a document that listed the names of the Black Loyalists who were granted freedom and settled in Nova Scotia following the American Revolutionary War (Ashenburg, par. 26). This document would later become the basis of his own novel of the same name. Wanting to learn more on the subject, Hill made three trips to West Africa as a volunteer with Canadian Crossroads International. There, he lived and worked in small villages alongside the local population (Crossroads International, par. 8). He immersed himself into the various cultures around him and met a Muslim polygamist family who introduced him to Islam (Crossroads International, par. 8). The insights that he developed forms an integral part of his novel, The Book of Negroes. The main character, Aminata Diallo, is from the small village of Bayo in West Africa and prior to her enslavement, leads the same simple village life that Hill experienced. Aminata is also Muslim and although she is not in a polygamous relationship, the [village] chief has four wives (Hill, 19). In addition to this, Hill s in depth understanding of West African cultures is evident throughout the novel. The serving of mint tea when Aminata and her parents want to share stories together is a common tradition in many West African villages and Hill himself most likely encountered it. He also includes passages such as: I could tell by the way the pail was balanced near the front of her head...that she was a Bamana which demonstrates his ability to

Diamonds are known for being the hardest substance on earth, but few know diamond is four times harder than the next hardest natural mineral. One of the diamonds only flaws are its cleavage. A skilled diamond jeweler can prevent a diamondfrom being split by positioning it to be struck at the perfect placement. Diamonds have a wide color range, high refraction, low reactivity to chemicals, and extreme hardness and durability. Also, the diamond is Aprils birthstone. Diamonds are typically described as cut, clarity, color, and carat. Cut refers to the shape of the stone and the quality. The cube and the octahedron are normal forms for the diamond to be in. The clarity of a diamond is the presence of its impurities, internal fractures, inclusions and the overall cleanliness in the mineral. Its color, tends to be pale yellow, brown, grey, white, blue, black, reddish, greenish, and colorless. Strongly colored diamonds are much more valuable. Before anyone can actually start mining, prospectors have to locate the diamonds first. Once the pipes are found, huge amounts of soil is extracted. In order to make the process more efficient, the rocks and the soil are moved to a different location to begin examination. At that location the ore is processed and the rough diamonds are extracted. Rough stones are then sorted into different categories, there they are sold, cut, polished, and commercialized. Another mining method is called Alluvial Mining. This type of mining is usually in riverbanks or beaches. It involves the building of walls and the diversion of rivers. Once the water gets emptied, bulldozers exploit the ground. When the diamond rich soil is reached, it gets extracted from the ground and transported to a special screening

Joel is an apathetic man; heavily tormented by grief over his daughter s death and the loss of everything he once valued. Ellie, born several years after the initial outbreak, isn t as emotionally jaded. The world as it s presented in the game, turned upside down and essentially torn apart by a major crisis, is the only world she has ever known. The story of The Last of Us , rather than focusing on its clichГ©d setting of a zombie infested, post apocalyptic world, is about the gradual bond that forms between the two main characters. Joel and Ellie s relationship is one the developer ingeniously establishes over the course of the game with subtle nuances instead of overt gestures. Another stroke of Naughty Dog s genius comes from the gameplay. Ammunition, weapons, and ingredients for crafting are extremely scarce, setting the survival horror aspect of the game at the forefront of a player s mind in its truest sense. Combat in The Last of Us adds to the sense of intensity and believability felt throughout the game. The player must survive encounters with two types of foes: humans and infected. Often unpredictable, human enemies behave more intelligently in The Last of Us than previously seen in games by employing items from their own arsenal, and displaying a remarkable sense of self preservation. The zombie like creatures in the game are characterized by the degrees in which they are

(2014) in order to show that firms that have better CSR performance are less capital constrained. The aim of the essay is to argue that the analysis of the relationship between CSR policies and the access to financeis a well done research with interesting arguments and analysis; however, it has several limitations, which will be examined. The aim will be achieved through a critical analysis of the paper. It will be done in four stages: first, the key arguments of the article, second, the strong points of the article, third, the limitations of the research, and final stage, the specifications of the outcome. In this paper Cheng et al. (2014) argued that the implementation of successful CSR policies leads to lower idiosyncratic risk due to improved stakeholder engagement, which reduce agency costs of an organisation, and increased transparency, which results a company becoming less capitally constrained and enhances a firm s access to finance in capital markets. In order to achieve their aim the authors use cross sectional analysis of firms around the world and apply different variables and methods. They concluded that there is a link between good CSR activities and access to finance; however, social and environmental components of CSR are more significant for investors than the factor of governance since the former ones have higher impact on capital constraints. As children, we learn how to read and write when in elementary school. Our school teachers teach us how to write; the size, the style, and the format. The books On Course by Skip Downing and 7 Habits by Stephen Covey, they are doing something similar. They explain to us about different ways to be effective, and how to better those skills. Both of these authors cover many different topics covering most areas of our lives. They do go into detail about how we think, and how that affects our daily lives. I believe that the most important habits and topics these two books cover would be Think Win Win, Seek First To Understand, Than To Be Understood, and then finally Discovering Your Preferred Ways To Learning. All these chapters throughout these two books stick out in my opinion, thus why I think they are the ones I want to share. I firmly believe that everyone should learn these few tips because it will benefit them greatly. The first topic I want to mention is when Stephen R. Covey mentions the concept of Think Win Win. The concept of thinking win win means that it is a state of mind where you think of what benefits you and what benefits others. Covey mentions 6 different thinking paradigms in this chapter as well; Win/win, win/lose, lose/win, lose/lose, win, and win/win or no deal. He explains to us that ways of thinking and paradigms form who we are,

The basic Search Engine techniques for the content, that can be HTML code. Most of the web pages might not use an appropriate structure of HTML code [Extra 15], so when a user search a query those web sites can not show as a results on Google. Because the keywords can not occur in URL and meta tags, the web site is not a result. It can be part of the results for specific keywords if the web site content has the query s keywords. Furthermore, the editor of the web page has to add new keywords or phrases on web page, for optimizing the web site position on search engine results page. The Mental Health Treatment Of Australia In the Mental Health treatment we can distinguish two different approaches to patient treatment, this is known as models of treatment, firstly we have a medical model, and secondary we a using person recovery model. To understanding of recovery in Australia, we have to acknowledge that is heavily influenced by recovery research and literature from the USA, Canada and New Zealand It is suggested that the term recovery has been adopted in Australia from the late 1980s (Lakeman, 2004, p.212; McGrath et al., 2007). It has become popular in mental health discourse and influences policy directives and service delivery initiatives (Meehan et al., 2007; Rickwood, 2004; Slade et al., 2008). Medical model in the mental health mostly concentrates on the treatment of the physiological aspect of illness, this model is used at the inpatients admissions, by psychiatrist overall in the clinical /medical settings. There are many definitions of term Medical Model many of them suggested that it is a scientifically proven process, concentrates on the treatment of the symptoms, is not client centred, and medical professionals are in charge of making and presiding with consumer treatment plan , some professionals also describe the medical model as the Western approach to illness. Using video games in schools or higher institutions can help build teamwork, foster decisions, critical and strategic skills useful in schools, work and life. Credibility: Who remembers Super Mario brothers? According to Guinness Record, Super Mario Bros is Nintendo s best selling game. My experience with video games growing up is that I remember playing Super Mario and Tetris with my cousins. Every time I played, I felt an adrenaline rush due to the excitement, so, I became competitive, and was always looking for a challenge. We would stay up late whenever we get can our gaming in, while our parents were asleep. I even fought with my cousins for hogging up the controllers, but in the long run, I learned to be patient and strategize against other players such as my cousins. Preview: Today, I will discuss why video games should be part of a class curriculum, and how it benefits students struggling academically. Transition to Body: There are many students struggling in schools, but without an engaging and fun outlet that promotes learning, these students eventually stop going to class or end up failing. This poses a problem with the future of learning. Body There is a lack of student motivation, and lack of attendance in schools. How can we spice up the school curriculum? How can struggling students do better? There are options for students who have not responded well to traditional methods. A.There are many factors that contribute to lack of motivation. The lack of funds, supplies, resources can deplete motivation for a student in the classroom. Lack of information such as students learning styles poses challenges for teachers to engage students. All students have a different learning style and can benefit from hands on or real life activities in the classroom. Clear goals allow students to engage more and feel motivated to participate and do better in school. Transition to Second Main Point: Video games can be used as a tool in schools, to help build teamwork, social skills, and critical thinking skills. II. Studies

Presenting People in Two Scavengers in a Truck, Two Beautiful People in a Mercedes, and Island Man In this essay I will compare the ways in which the poets present people in Two Scavengers in a truck, two beautiful people in a Mercedes by Lawrence Ferlinghetti and Island Man by Grace Nichols. In this essay I will look at the shape, structure, poetic devices and language in both poems. Firstly I will examine what the two poems are about and the ways how both poets portray the people in the poems. This poem was set in America and was aimed to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There is no punctuation used throughout the poem but capital letters are. Reading this poem I have noticed that Lawrence Ferlinghetti uses lots of poetic devices such as alliteration short skirt , repetition elegant and the , and similes looking down like some gargoyle Quasimodo . This phrase makes me think of vultures (garbage men) (types of bird that eat dead meat) gazing upon their pray (couple in the Mercedes.) The language in the poem is very descriptive and vivid. The poet introduces color to the poem too, to show more vivid images. He did that to attract more of the reader s attention. E.g. He used color to describe the yellow garbage truck and the traffic light. From this we can see that the poet uses color effectively. The poem Island Man was written by Grace Nichols. Its about an immigrant from the West Indies, dreaming about sound of Caribbean sea. He wakes up to the roar of London traffic. The poet is commenting on the difficulty for immigrant adapt to a urban environment. The poem Island Man gives us a picture of two different worlds and is based on dreams and reality. The poem is divided into 6 stanzas. I think that the stanzas are used to contrast the experiences that the island man have had. There are two distinct parts of the poem, Caribbean and London. The base of the case hold the artifacts were metal and the covering for the cases was made of glass. The Hartford section used dark orange, brownish orange, and lighter orange. The additional color used for signage and wall text where white with black text which made it easier for the guest to read in the low lighting. The color orange is associated with creativity, change and determination. This goes well with the tone of the Hartford section because it discusses the 1800s in a factory town where the boom of the industrial revolution was taking place, a time of intense creativity and change. In the Medical Alley section the design team used red. This section discussed medical invention of pacemakers and how open heart surgery was revolutionized. I feel red was very fitting because it made the section feel intense. In this section the red

  • 39. How Does Gram-Negative Bacteria Structure Gram negative bacteria structure The lipid A palmitoyltransferase pagP is an outer membrane enzyme of the gram negative bacteria Escherichia coli. Gram negative bacteria are surrounded by two lipid bilayer membranes, which enclose the periplasmic space composed of peptidoglycan that contains ions and proteins. The two membranes differ in composition and function. With respect to composition, the inner or cytoplasmic membrane is composed of phospholipids, such as phosphatidylethanolamine, phospatidylglycerol and cardiolipin found in both the inner and outer leaflet. The outer membrane is highly asymmetric with its inner leaflet having the same phospholipid composition as the inner membrane and the outer leaflet consisting of lipopolysaccharides. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In order for the bacteria to establish a successful attachment on the host surfaces, they need to have an adaptation ability towards external changes. Certain cellular regulators transmit signals from the exterior to the inner part of the cell via cytoplasmic secondary messenger systems or so called alomers. In bacteria this function is performed by the 3 ,5 cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP) which is an ubiquitous molecule found in both eukaryotes and prokaryotes. The cAMP targets its receptor, the cAMP receptor protein (CRP) and this CRP cAMP complex formed binds to the DNA in order to activate the expression of genes that code for enzymes responsible for the supply of energy of the cell, besides the cAMP is a derivative of ATP independent of glucose. It is studied that the CRP cAMP is a global regulator of gene expression of almost 200 operons in E.coli. Type 1 fimbriation is dependent on growth phase and it is found that CRP cAMP regulates type 1 fimbriae expression during the exponential growth phase. CRP and cAMP levels are influenced by environmental conditions mainly by glucose availability and osmolarity. These particular conditions affect also the DNA topology in E. coli. It gives them love and they love it too. The next thing I want to say which explores Australians unique ways of thinking is their belief in what is right or wrong no matter who is involved. Because the house means everything to Australians people, they will do everything they can to protect it. My fellow worker also director of The Castle , Rob Sitch has cleverly and effectively used many film techniques to express this idea. Do you remember when Darryl and Dennis stand in the Federal court? There is a big contrast between the underdog and the authorities. The close up and the medium shots were taken to show his confidence in the facial expression and body language. On the other hand, the low angel camera shot up to the judge emphasis the power of the law. These both reveal Darryl s determination of battling even when he knows that he is fighting against the government. By these techniques, it s clear to see that no matter how hard the situation is, no matter how limited individuals ability is, Australians people will still be brave to stand up, fight for their right and protect their family. And, last but not least, the very important thing I have to tell you is Australians willingness to help and fight for underdogs. Later in the movie, Hammil comes to Darryl and asks to help him to keep the house. In the scene when they went to the High Court, the costume status has been
