Concept Essays
Writing an essay on the topic of "Concept Essays" can be a challenging task that requires a deep
understanding of the subject matter and the ability to articulate complex ideas. The difficulty lies
in the abstract nature of concepts and the need to convey them clearly to the reader. Unlike
essays on concrete topics, where facts and evidence are readily available, concept essays demand
a more nuanced approach.
One of the challenges is defining the concept itself. Concepts are often abstract and
multifaceted, making it crucial to provide a comprehensive and precise definition. Moreover,
exploring the various dimensions and aspects of the concept requires a thorough analysis, critical
thinking, and the ability to connect different ideas coherently.
Crafting a compelling thesis statement is another hurdle. The thesis should encapsulate the
essence of the chosen concept while offering a roadmap for the essay. Striking the right balance
between being concise and thorough is crucial to keep the reader engaged.
Structuring the essay poses its own set of difficulties. Achieving a logical flow of ideas, ensuring
each paragraph contributes to the overall argument, and maintaining clarity can be daunting.
Transitioning between different aspects of the concept seamlessly requires finesse in writing.
Additionally, finding relevant examples and evidence to support your points can be challenging,
especially if the concept is abstract or lacks concrete manifestations. It requires creativity and the
ability to draw connections between the theoretical and the practical.
Finally, wrapping up the essay with a strong conclusion that summarizes the key points and
leaves a lasting impression on the reader can be a delicate task. Balancing a sense of closure with
an invitation for further contemplation adds to the complexity.
In conclusion, writing an essay on the topic of "Concept Essays" demands a combination of
analytical skills, creativity, and effective communication. It's an intellectually challenging task
that requires careful consideration of language, structure, and content to successfully convey
abstract ideas to the reader.
For those seeking assistance with such essays or similar academic tasks, various resources are

Jewish Scriptures Morally And Allegorical
Comprehending scriptures literally can be easily achieved by anyone, however, it is
also important for people to understand the scriptures morally and allegorically
because faith influence our behavior, morals, and lifestyle. Jewish scriptures are
divided into three sections: Torah (The Law), Nevi im (The Prophets), and Ketuvim
(The Writing). The book of Genesis can be found in Torahwhich has the foundational
stories of Judaism( Hebrew Bible, Bond) and Rabbi David L. Locketz further
interprets the scriptures literally and allegorically.
In the video of Rabbi David L. Locektz, he comments that the book of Genesis 41:1
44:17 refers to Miketz that usually corresponds with Hannukah (0:09) and talks about
the glory of Joseph and the famine

Descripited Essay
To me big hearted is someone who is carrying, kind, has a passion for things, has a
huge heart for people and everything around them, someone who not only thinks
about themselves but others as well. Big hearted is definitely a word I would use to

I am a very vehement person when it comes to my little brother Jordan, who is 5

Hello , how is your day going ? anything new going on? . I enjoyed talking to
anyone who came alone just because no one knows what someone is going

Maya Angelou Pretty Woman
The song Pretty Woman talks of a guy meeting a beautiful looking female. The song
is similar but cannot be compared to the meaning of a poem by Maya Angelou. Her
poem Phenomenal Woman, talks about how she is not a pretty woman, yet that does
not stop the men from looking and wondering about her. Maya Angelou uses imagery,
tone, and the title to describe her view of herself compared to the pretty woman
Imagery in the poem Phenomenal Woman is important. Maya Angelou uses
imagery in the poem because the speaker is comparing herself, a regular woman, to
the way media suggest woman should look. She uses this literary technique in
each stanza, especially in the second stanza of the poem, describing how men react
to her and not the pretty woman. Then they swarm around me, hive of honey bees
(lines 19 20), creating an example of imagery saying that wherever the speaker
ends up men began to surround her. In all of the stanzas, almost in the middle of
each one, the speaker describes herself, It s in the arch of my back, the sun of my
smile, the ride of my breast, the grace of my style (lines 38 41). This quote explains
the speaker s quality which allows the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Without tone, the poem would seem dull and pointless. Avonie Brown says, Maya
Angelou introduces me to the lyrical quality of language, it natural rhythm, its
musicality and beauty of the phrase well turned (1). Proving that the tone of the
poem is moving and inspirational, with a little beat to it to make it interesting. The
poem s natural rhythm gives the feeling of enlightenment by reading the first line
in the first stanza. Pretty woman wonder where my secret lies. I m not cute or built
to suit a fashion model s size (lines 1 2), giving a lyrical quality to the poem while
creating a prideful tone for the speaker. She is proud that she can t fit in the media s
ideal of woman. Just like the tone, the title, Phenomenal Woman, also has some
qualities of its
Purebred Dog Pros And Cons
A purebred dog is to a normal mixed breed dog what a Lamborghini is to a P.T.
Cruiser in the eyes of some pet owners. A purebred dog is one that has been
registered and has papers that prove that the dog s mother and the dog s father are
both of the same breed (TheFunTimesGuide). So while you may be questioning the
cultural relevance of a purebreddogto any culture, people are out there as we speak
spending hundreds, sometimes even thousands of dollars on a dog that is no better
than either of my free, mixed breeddogs. So why are people paying so much money
for dogs, just because they have a few papers proving that both the mother and
father are of the same breed? The possibilities are endless, but at least one answer
lies right here in... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Being that Caucasian is the largest race of people in the United States, and always
has been, people typically think of Americans as white. It is just like how we think
of Africans as black, Asians as light brown, and every Hispanic person comes from
Mexico. That is not the case but that is a lot of people s way of thinking. Getting
back on track, white people tend to own more pure bred dogs because we are the
ones who have this fear of the outside world. The whites have historically not
always been so kind to those who are outside of their group (for example: the
Native Americans and African Americans), and they tend to be the ones with the
isolationist values. As to where anyone that is of the lower class in America usually
has or wants purebred pit bulls. They own these dogs to come off as tough, not to be
messed with, and to hopefully not be bothered by anyone with such an intimidating
dog which also has the highest attack rate. If you really want to put isolation into
practice then the purebred pit bull is your
The Big Bang Theory Of The Universe Essay
Evidence pointed towards that the universe was expanding, but this was not enough
to separate the Big Bang theory from its rivals. A few decades after the redshift
concept was discovered, scientists detected groundbreaking evidence that was
considered the smoking gun. Arno Penzias and Robert Wilson detected the remnants
of radiation created from the Big Bang. This cosmic background radiation was the
thermal radiation left over from the Big Bang. It was collected in the form as
omnidirectional microwaves, which was red shifted because of the expansion of the
universe. While they were not able to detect large quantities of cosmic background
radiation, the principle of overdetermination allowed them to make claims from this
evidence. They deduced that this radiation must of come from a Big Bang event were
protons and neutrons formed hydrogen atom. This was the smoking gun to the
beginning of the universe, it revealed that only an event like the Big Bang could
create this radiation. All the evidence collected suggested that an event like the Big
Bang would be the only explanation to what scientists had collected. The Big Bang
theory became the most probable theory against its rivals, but scientists were tasked
with an even more difficult problem. They needed to be able to explain how the Big
Bang resulted in the unique universe we observe around us. With the Big Bang
theory established, scientists needed to understand how this theory could create our

Social Order In Ridley Scott s Blade Runner
The genre of science fiction in literature has been around for a long time, a lot of
these artworks is about robots or replicants are living in the world simultaneously
with the human. If readers want to explore the content of certain science fiction
narratives, then it would be understandable that the authors tried to portray an
existence of human race and their own creations to address ethical issues, the social
structure and power hierarchy. One can take into account the famous movie, Blade
Runner (1982), directed by Ridley Scott, that explores the social structure in a world
where replicants and humans live together. On the other hand, the famous play,
R.U.R., written by Karel ДЊapek in 1920, can also be described as one of the best
fictional that highlight the social order in a world of robots and people. It is
interesting to note how the replicants or robots that are... Show more content on

In the movie, the male character, Rick, is required to track down four replicants and
destroy them. First of all, the film begins with the picture of humans and the
replicants are mixed together in the society, and replicants are hard to identify. One
should realize that the film portrays the replicants as normal humans, thereby making
it impossible for the common people to identify the differences. This science fiction
film introduces a time when people would not be able to differentiate between
themselves and their most advanced creations and it is very interesting to know that
the replicants have individual personalities, sexuality, and sense of self. Moreover,
they are able to have a consciousness and emotions as they interact with the human
around them. The fact that the test called Voigt Kampff has to be administered to
make sure if it is a replicant, this also proves the nature of these creatures are totally

Gender Roles Of Women s Collective Identity Essay
Gender is one social division in society that plays a significant role in people s
collective identity. While the male gender is the privileged gender in New Zealand
s society, New Zealand s view of masculinity in the 21st century is still an area for
many social struggles and contestation. Ideas of masculinity are instilled at such a
young age and people are socialized to feel pressure to conform to gendernorms
because they are taught to insult or degrade those who are different. This paper
will look at the work of Richard Pringle (2007) and Shane Town (1999) to explore
some of New Zealand s ideas of the male gender and sexuality in Aotearoa/New
Zealand.

Richard Pringle:
Richard Pringle (2007) work raises the important and sometimes overlooked topic
of male masculinity. Pringle (2007) starts of his work by pointing out that the
construction of masculinity in society is complex. It is different for each social
context and person. This immediately creates a tension of where each individual
sits in the society in which they live. It also means that literature is theoretical and
often key ideas are generalised. It would be an overwhelming piece of research
(although now technologically feasible) to seek everyone s opinion on issues. New
Zealand society demonstrates the belief of a hegemonic masculine society.
Hegemonic masculinity is defined by Pringle (2007) as the collective, dominate,
social belief of the desirable way one should act male. Tony Porter

The wine s aromatic richness and complexity are confirmed on the palate. The young

Cultural Differences Case Study
Executive Summary
Cultural differences, can manifest and accentuate personal and professional
mannerism. A French manager named Chalon, with 18 years of multicultural
management experience, upon moving to the United States encounters difficulties
with his management style. In order to observe the relationship between management
and cultural differences, we explored: communication; leadership and group
management roles in a multicultural environment; alternative solutions such as
mapping, bridging and integrating (MBI); freezing, pleasing or teasing leadership;
effective feedback. The ideas are a subset in evaluating cultural differences in
management, but will serve as helpful development for cultural intelligence for
Chalon.

Chalon, with 18 years of experience managing teams across six countries, moved to
the U.S. as a manager of Michelin in Greenville. To his surprise, he received lots of
complaints from his subordinates, which led to questions about his own style and
abilities, which had made him so successful in the past. This report aims to find out
problems he faced in cross cultural environment due to communication, leadership
and management and suggest solutions for the same.

In Salman Rushdie s novel The Satanic Verses Rushdie tells a story about two men,
Saladin Chamcha and Gibreel Farishta, oddly connected by the fact that they both
survive the hijacking of their aircraft. Throughout the novel, Gibreel has powerful
dreams in which the narrator brings up the topic of the Satanic Verses. The Satanic
Verseswere supposedly verses that Muhammadsaid were part of the Quran and then
were later revoked. The Verses allegedly said that Allah was not the only god
and that
there were three slightly lesser female deities. It is believed that the Satanic Verses
were removed from the Quran because they accepted females as divine. In The

During the course of the novel, Rushdie uses the narrator, whom we assume to be
Satan himself, to illustrate to the reader why women are more inclined to not
follow the strict rules of Islam, and instead stray towards to devil because of better
quality of life promised with the devil as opposed to the demeaning and shameful
life they lead in the religion of Islam. In the Mahound chapter of The Satanic
Verses, the narrator tells the story of Ibrahim and his wife and son, Hagar and
Ismail. He took them to a waterless wilderness (96) where he abandoned them, but
before he left Hagar asked him Can this be God s will? (96), and Ibrahim replied
that it was. The narrator says that men have always used God as an excuse to
mistreat women in their lives and then goes off on a tangent thinking to himself
Small wonder, then, that women have turned to me (96). This is where the reader
can make the inference that the narrator is Satan because women are turning to
him and away from God and religion. They feel as though they are treated better by
the devil rather than God because the men in Islamic societies always justify the
horrible things they do to women by saying it is indeed God s will. Later on in the
book in the chapter A City Visible but Unseen Rushdie again shows the favoritism of
males over females. When Hind gives birth to her second daughter, Anahita, she is so
upset that she only has two girls that she refuses to have
History And Development Of Modern Operative Obstetrics
Essay
Chapter 2 2.1 History of caesarean section and development of modern operative
obstetrics The first modern caesarean section was performed by German
gynaecologist Ferdinand Adolf Kehrer in 1881.(1) Probably the very first
documented evidence of caesarean birth is a legal text dating to theera of
Hammurabi (1795 1750 BC), describing the birth of a male child pulled out of the
womb of a deceased woman (7). The name sectio caesarea was first used by the
French obstetrician Guillimeau in 1598. At that time, the operation was used to
deliver live babies from dead mothers (4). There are three different explanations
about the origin of the name of the operation. 1)In 715 BC, the King of Rome,
Numa Pompilius, codified the Roman laws. According to the law, it was
forbidden to bury a dead pregnant woman before the fetus was excised. If the child
was alive, it was called a caeson . This law, Lex Caesaris or Lex Caesarea, is
assumed to be the origin for the name of the procedure cesarean section (4, 7, 9).
2)It has also been stated, that Julius Caesar has been delivered by this method, and
gave the name for the operation. This is considered unlikely, because his mother is
known to have been alive during Julius Caesars adulthood. During his reign about
100 BC no woman is known to have survived the operation. 3)A third explanation is
that the name is simply derived from the Latin verb caedare, to cut. The word
section is also derived from the latin verb secare, to cut (4).

The atlantic world was a point around 1450 to 1750 that experienced the most change

Nietzsche And Nietzsche On The Rationality Of Religious...
Explain and evaluate the views of Freud and Nietzsche, on the rationality of religious
belief.
Freud believes that religion belongs to a childish stage of human evolution with no
purpose and that these religious beliefs lack a rational and strong foundation. He
thought mature people approach a rational reasoning on religion Freud believes that
there is no place for religion in our modern world today since it is already
corrupted with evil. His view of our psychological role of beliefs and religion brings
attention to a guilt feeling one feels helpless and the first though that comes to his
mind is that God is a just reflection of the subconscious mind.
On the other hand, Nietzsche believes that there are no rules to the life of human
beings and only the coward cling to religion in the hope of finding something which
is not there. He believes that truth is all that is needed and nothing is more powerful
than self belief in truth.
Explain and evaluate the views of Tolstoy and Kierkegaard, on the rationality of
religious belief.
Kierkegaard focuses almost exclusively on answering the question how to become a
Christian . He thought that people were not leading fulfilling and meaningful lives,
so he wanted to show how people can find this, and be happy hence satisfied. This
believes that truth does not come to a person from outside the self, but is contained
within. It comes to a person from within, as an innate or in born idea which we
recall. The other religiousness is a
Scoliosis Body Brace Research Paper

Scoliosis is a back deformity that is identified by the curvature of the spine.
Almost 9 million people in the United States suffer from scoliosis, and most scoliosis

Shopping took hours because few pants stretched around the extra inches the brace

However, I was extremely lucky that I was diagnosed and put through treatment early.
Untreated, scoliosis progressively impacts one s life, especially through puberty s
growth spurts. Scoliosis stunts growth and puts dangerous pressure on vital organs,
such as the heart, liver, and lungs.
Early detection is crucial. California state laws currently require scoliosis
screenings for girls in the seventh grade, and boys in the eighth. However, this is
often much too late for corrective back braces. By the seventh and eighth grades,
scoliosis has often developed for several years. Critical scoliosis patients are then

Spinal fusion surgery is a major open back surgery that places permanent metal rods

everything from your muscles to brain is working properly. Not all carbs are
nutritious. Good ones are processed and are full of vitamins and minerals, for
example: whole grain pasta and bread, veggies, and fruit. Bad ones come from
foods like white bread and sugary sweets, which are full of calories and don t have
a lot of nutritional value. There are many many low carb diets. the most popular
ones include Atkins, Dukan, Eco Atkins, Medifast, the Paelo and the South beach

Bebop Jazz Influences
Bebop Jazz known as Jazz music today have shared its roots with the various tradition
of music such as the American, European and the African. The unique mesh of Bebop
jazz cultural influences has made it a true American style in music. The music
influence by the Bebop jazz has flowed through many aspects of the modern cultures
of people, and this is the cornerstone of the 20th century music. The first and the most
prominent jazzmusic was on the African heritage that was kept alive by the slaves in
South America. The music was mainly composed with an intention of comforting and
helping the Africans cope with the harsh labor conditions and separation from their
families. The paper will discuss the Bebopjazz music, their elements, and

In addition to this, some people would use saxophone and the trumpet.
The complex rhythms
The composers and the musicians of the bebop jazz improvised some rhythmic
patterns in the basic beat and around each section of the music.
Having some rapid series of the chords
The music has not been built around few chords; it used a rapid series of chords.
For instance, this is seen in New Orleans jazz and other big band swings of jazz
(Caines Heble, 2014). The series of the chords that were used altered from their
standard form to and some texture and complexity in the music.
Drastic change in instrument roles
The drummers in the Bebop jazz shifted their main timekeeping roles from the bass to
the snare and then cymbals. This made the music feel lighter and created and
effervescent aura. Most of them begun by playing some multiple and overlapping
music.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The proliferation of online shopping has significantly altered the retail landscape.
While the physical store continues to exist and even thrive in many cases the risk of
turning irrelevant remains. Millennials who will constitute a significant percentage of
the consumer population in the future prefer the convenience of online and mobile
shopping. When they occasionally do step into the store, it is more likely to
experience the product than complete a purchase.
Smart retailers know that the only way to survive the onslaught of multiple channels
is to reinvent the store by offering a personalized experience that extends beyond
what a consumer gets online. This calls for collection and analysis of consumer and
transactional data. It is not just online retailers who are sitting on huge data mounds.
Physical stores operating in digitized environments have access to rich shopper data
too: Point Of Sale systems, loyalty programs, surveillance cameras, and facial
recognition systems. They must leverage this data by performing analytics and use
the insights gained to improve the store experience

The tap water here may be filtered and all but if you travel to a state or country that

dispenser if you go somewhere with bad tap, no refrigerator dispenser, or don t
know for sure about the water. Some water bottles are bad like Aquafina but just
because some of them are bad doesn t mean we have to banned them. There are
tons of water bottles that are good for you like Neslie . Some people are arguing
and making it a big deal because some water bottles are bad. They just have to stay
away from the bad brands and buy the healthier brands. According to
greengarageblog water bottles are okay to store since they don t get stale. You
could buy a whole pack and leave it in your garage and still tasted great after
weeks. Its great for long road trips, to bring to school, work, and others. You could
store them in a car, a locker, a refrigerator, closet, in the kitchen, the room, really
anywhere. It s ready to be opened and drank out of without getting stale.
Another thing that people disagree with not banning water bottles is that 80% of the
water bottles being bought are landed in landfills each
Pro-Coal Mining And Anti-Coal Mining Methods
1.What is mountain top removal and what is its purpose? (.5 page)
Mountain top removal is the practice for removing the peaks from mountains to
expose coal seams for extraction, and dumping the excess rocks and earth is then
dumped into holler fills. This is accomplished by use of explosives and huge trucks
and machinery. They are blowing off the top of mountains and dumping the rubble
into the water. It was originally intended to be a rare practice, but now it is business
as usual.
The purpose of mountain top mining is to maximize profit potential for coal
companies. Coal remains one of the significant sources of energy in the world.
Approximately around 50 percent % of the United States rely on coal as a provider
for their electricity. These companies lease land from residents and stand to gain
most of the profits from the coal. Mountain top removal is cheap alternative to
traditional methods of manual extracting coal. Mountain top removal operations
requires only a few number of workers, but a large amount of big equipment, and
dynamite. Not a matter of putting people in a hole to get coal anymore. Now there is
an entire industry built up around extracting coal.
2.What are the different pro coal mining and anti coal mining arguments made
throughout the film? Who are the proponents/opponents of the coal mining industry
and what sorts of environmental ethics frameworks do they use to express their
views? (1 page)
The pro coal mining arguments made in the film are
Human Trafficking Method Of Modern Day Slavery
People are raped and have their rights stolen from them in every city on Earth.
Human trafficking is one method of modern day slavery. This type of modern
slavery stayed hidden from the outside world for many years, but people are now
beginning to see the problem appearing in many places. Victims of human trafficking
are everywhere and have been telling their stories to help spread awareness. Human
trafficking is beginning to grow and prosper through the criminal industry. These
things all add up to the idea that human trafficking is something that will continue for
many centuries. Human trafficking is a major issue in today s society.

People in trafficking are often beaten, starved, raped, and forced into many different
types of labor. Although the Thirteenth Amendment helps counterbalance human
trafficking by stating that no one shall be put into slavery or forced labor unless they
have committed a crime and the labor is punishment, criminals still violate this
amendment. Trafficking is a major violation of the basic human rights given to
every person when they are born. For example, if a baby is born to a victim while still
under the perpetrator`s control, they can use it to oppress the victim to do more by
being a menace to the child. Human rights are rights that everyone is born with, and
human trafficking severely violates those liberties. Human trafficking is an issue that
cannot be solved overnight and is growing every minute. While many people believe
that human trafficking is non existent in their state, city, or neighborhood, it is
happening all around the world. People may choose to block out the news and stories
of human trafficking, but this issue cannot stay hidden. Human trafficking is an issue

The Cost Of Attending College Analysis
The Cost of Attending College
I m not going to college my friend told me over the phone one day during a
conversation we were having. I was somewhat surprised, but his decision did not
catch me completely off guard. We had discussed the topic before and he mentioned
his consideration to not attend college after he graduated from high school. He
believed that even though he would probably enjoy going to college and learning
new information, college was not the best option for him. He is smart; however, he
was already working various jobs and projects while in high school, sometimes
missing school to complete his responsibilities. He was making much more money
during high school than most students his age. He applied and was accepted at various

There are many factors that play into someone s choice of attending college:
interests, goals, prior education level, intelligence, financial situation, as well as
many others. The higher the cost of attending college and obtaining a degree goes,
the more pertinent this question becomes to society. The type of job a person is
planning on obtaining after he completes his college education greatly impacts the
value of his degree. Acquiring a well paying job after leaving college is the only
way for a college graduate to effectively pay off his student loans. Before someone
can earn a degree and enter into the workforce, they must do well and complete all
of their years in college. If a student goes through college for one year or two and
then drops out and enters the workforce, he has wasted his time and
Marvel Cinematic Universe
Ever since I was able to open my eyes, I ve watched countless movies from
countless of different movie franchises. I ve watched some of the best movies ever
made, and some of the worst movies ever made too. That includes watching the
movies made from small and unknown movie franchises to large and famous
franchises. Watching movies is like a hobby for me; every weekend, I would
watch a brand new movie in the theatre or search for a amazing movie that I have
not seen before. With the experience of watching a countless number of movies, I
know out of all the movie franchises, Marvel Cinematic Universe is by far the best
movie franchise, having the highest movie ratings and the largest Worldwide Box
Officeand Domestic Box Office. Marvel Cinematic Universe has made 22 movies
so far, but only released 17, and those 17 have been amazing to watch. The movies
have the highest average on Rotten Tomatoes. The average Rotten Tomatoes is
about 83%, which is relatively high considering it is the average. Rotten Tomatoes
is a system to determined by people whether the movie is good or bad. It is in
percentages, the higher the percentage the better the movie is. The most recent
movie, Spider man Homecoming was especially entertaining to watch. It has 92%

Marvel Cinematic Universe of 94% Rotten Tomatoes is Iron Man (Giles). Iron Man

should solve the problem. I reach into my duffle bag and find a roll of duck tape and
towel and begin to tape the canoe. I laid tape in all directions on both sides in

With all the gear the canoe seemed to float and I slowly stepped in making sure no
water enters from the bottom. After waiting a few minutes with no issues I put a
lifejacket on incase I sink. There seemed to be no issues as I paddled on. A lot of

The Vietnam War Was A Damaging Conflict
Victoria Valean Professor William Mack U.S. History 2 16 April 2015 Vietnam
War The Vietnam War was a damaging conflict that left deep scars on all the
people and countries that were involved. About 60,000 American lives were taken
and an estimated 2,000,000 Vietnamese were killed or wounded. That is about 10
percent of Vietnam s population. Many bombs, weapons, and chemical warfare
destroyed Vietnam s infrastructure and land. Not only did this war bring
destruction to Vietnam s physical country, but it helped bring down two
presidential administrations in the U.S., and led to widespread public dissent in
America. The American foreign policy today is still affected by the lessons learned
in the Vietnam War. On November 1st, 1964, about 100 Vietcong guerillas attacked
an American air base in Bien Hoa. This was the first battle of the Vietnam War. The
Vietcong completely startled the South Vietnamese soldiers and the American
soldiers as well. The guerillas launched their attack from the dense jungle. It
consisted of fired mortars and cannons that hit the American base, and the Vietcong
guerillas managed to disappear into the jungle before squads could search for them.
The sneaky guerillas destroyed 6 American planes and damaged 20 others. Their
attack included the killing of 5 Americans and 2 South Vietnamese soldiers, along
with leaving over 100 wounded. More attacks by the Vietcong followed on
December 24th, 1964 and February 7th, 1964 . America sought a peaceful end
Antacid Lab Write Up
The purpose of this lab is to identify the most effective and affordable antacid using
vinegar to represent acidity in the stomach.
Original Procedure
Test the pH of the vinegar and each antacid.
Place 5 drops of each antacid on the wax paper and mix in 5 drops of vinegar in each.
Test the pH of the mixture.
When we got the same results for all three mixtures (pH: 4), we decided to modify
our procedure.
Modified Procedure
Instead of mixing a few drops of each substance, we decided to mix 5 mL of the
antacid with 5 mL of the vinegar.

An acid produces H+ ions in an aqueous solution, while a base produces OH .
Neutralization is when a substance has equal amounts of H+ and OH ions. The pH
of a neutral substance is 7. An acid and a base are reactants in the reaction. A salt and
water are formed i all neutralization reactions.
Discussion Questions
Mg(OH)2 is a strong base, while HCl is a strong acid. Mg(OH)2 interacts with the
HCl present in the stomach. When enough Mg(OH)2 is present, the acidity in the
stomach neutralizes since acids and bases are complete opposites.
2HCl + Mg(OH)2 в†’ MgCl2 + 2H2O
Not all antacids contain magnesium hydroxide. Other bases available in other
antacids may be more effective than magnesium hydroxide. For example, antacids
containing calcium carbonate take longer to work, however, the results last much
longer than antacids with magnesium hydroxide.
An uncertainty in this experiment is that white vinegar is not 100% HCl. Therefore,
the actual results of an antacid interacting with hydrochloric acid in the stomach may
be a little off than our experimental
Descriptive Essay On Christmas
Christmas Eve Lasagna In our house lasagna is a dish made for special occasions,
my mom is the only one that makes it. Every year, before my grandfather passed
away, my mom would make lasagna for my brother, father, grandfather, and I. When
I was in elementary school my grandfather and grandmother got divorced, they
couldn t even be in the same room together. Therefore, in order to be able to spend
time with both of them during the holidays we would need to have two of each

Lasagna isn t just my favorite meal because it tastes good, it is the memories of my
grandfather s strength and fight that are associated with it that makes the meal
special. People often said that wherever my grandfather went he always made new
friends or enemies. This explains his personality perfectly, he always made an
everlasting impression, not afraid to voice his opinions. When I was around him
he was always telling stories about his days of playing minor league baseball under
the Philadelphia Phillies and Minnesota Twins organizations or his days of being a
K9 trooper for the New Hampshire State Police. He was someone that I admired
and loved being around. Some of the best memories are the ones where we are
sitting around the table on Christmas Eve eating our lasagna and munching on some
garlic bread. Everything changed when he became sick, but he was a fighter. My

Fruit Tree Diversity And Fruit Consumption
Chapter 4:
Fruit tree diversity and fruit consumption in the context of deforestation in Cameroon
1.INTRODUCTION
The world has been confronted with serious difficulties in curbing the rate of
undernourishment, especially in sub Sahara Africa (Vicenti et al., 2013; Arnold et
al., 2011; Goenster et al., 2011). In developing countries, the livelihood and food
security of smallholder land users are often at risk from unpredictable harvests,
land degradation and climate change (Paumgarten and Shackleton, 2011; Mertens et
al., 2000; Ndoye and Kaimowitz, 2000; Sunderlin et al., 2000). Of about one billion
hungry people globally, 98% live in developing countries. Seventy percent of
chronically hungry people are smallholder farmers, 43% of total farmers worldwide
are women and 38% of youths in Africa are working in agriculture (Conway and
Wilson, 2012; FAO, 2011). For instance, in forest areas of Cameroon, stunting and
chronic malnutrition was experienced by 30.3% of children between 24 47 months
in the South region and 27.8% in the Centre region (Socpa et al., 2008). Since the
varieties of wildfruits are numerous (Matig et al., 2006; van Wyk, 2005) and vary
from one season and climatic region to another, fruits and wild foods can constitute
important sources of food during crop scarcity (Vicenti et al., 2013; Termote et al.,
2012; Ingram and Shure 2010; Nesbit et al., 2010; Shackleton and Shackleton, 2004).
Thus, fruits can serve as safety nets in the diet of households when

Empowering The Local Government As A Local Community
Nicole: That municipalities, mayors, and council members have the tools that they
need to manage their constituents. So when I think about being the Mayor here in
Manitou Springs and as unique as we feel we are, for example last night we
discussed sexually oriented businesses and we are the only municipality in El Paso
Countywith recreational marijuana, you know a variety of things that we have
catered to our own municipality, I would love to be able to turn around on those steps
and say that I have helped to create well rounded and broad policy for municipalities
and local government at the smaller level to do exactly what they need for their
specific unique community.
Dustin: So empowering local government?

members I have on my board and someone like Pete Lee who have their own

vision for specific agenda, I don t have that. I don t necessarily want to unless it s
essential for my job. For example, as I run for mayor again, the items that I m

Hidden Champions products are unheard of other than within the industry the
product has been designed for. There are currently 2700 medium sized companies

Simple Subjectivism
In this essay I will talk about what simple subjectivism is and the problems of the
impossibility of moral disagreement. First I will define ethical subjectivism and the
different version of subjectivism known as simple subjectivism. Then I will explain
why simple subjectivism makes a disagreement impossible. Lastly, I will explain why
the consequence of simple subjectivism creates a problem for the moral judgement
theory.
Ethical subjectivism is the theory that describes the nature of moral judgement; it is
defined as our opinions based on our feeling and emotions. However, Rachels
believes that morality is concerned because there are no facts or objective truth in
morality nor is there anyone right even when there is available evidence. (Rachels

(Rachels 37). In other words, our moral statements is based on how we behave
regarding an issue. Simple subjectivism is open to several objections, there are two
main objections to simple subjectivism. First is that whenever someone is making a
moral agreement, no one is ever right. The second is that simple subjectivism makes
disagreement impossible to argue. If we look back at this statement whether
Homosexuality is immoral , there are many who would disapprove of this statement
and many would approve. Matt Foreman does not believe that homosexuality is
immoral. It may look that both Foreman and Falwell disagree but simple subjectivism
says otherwise. According to simple subjectivism when foreman says that the
homosexuality is immoral, he stated only his attitude not a fact; he is just stating that
he does not disapprove homosexuality. Falwell would agree that Foreman does not
disapprove homosexuality and Foreman would agree that Falwell does not approve

Husserl on Passive Synthesis
In this section Husserl compares the progressive perceptual process of an
immanent object with that of a transcendent (i.e. spatial object), with special
interest towards the Now phase of perception. He quickly points out that immanent
objects only have . . . one possible way to be given in the original in every Now . . .
which means during the duration of an experience of an immanent object, a color
for example, the object is completely determined and the distinction between
appearing and what appears is collapsed(ACPAC553). The reverse is true in the
case of external perceptions of transcendent objects. As Husserl states, . . . the spatial
object has infinitely many ways [to be given in the original] since it can appear in
the Now,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The sense is, however, never fully given in an absolute way in the external perception
of transcendent objects. This leads us to the issue of skepticism.
In external perception, according to Husserl, the accomplishment of sense giving is
never complete as there is a continuous bringing forth of intuitions which fulfill
empty prefigured intentions of the object. (ACPAC57) But this is not the only
function of the sense giving, the sense itself, Husserl says, . . . is continually
cultivated and is genuinely so in steady transformations, constantly leaving open the

as it exists for a conscious subject, which makes perception an acquisition of
knowledge. For although there is an ever changing sense exhibited through the
external perception of a transcendent object, there is also the unified, what Husserl
calls, substrate x which subsists through all the flowing of sense in whatever How

enriched. Spawned by this process is an unattainable idea which, according to
Husserl, lies in infinity , and that is the idea of an absolute and determined

and private jobs. In actual fact, his first job in the United State was in the Department
of Agriculture. The Deming Institute stated, It was there that Deming encountered
statistics and also met Walter Shewhart. Shewhart s ideas inspired Deming to apply

Heinrich Himmler Essay
Heinrich Himmler once said Should we succeed in establishing this Nordic race
and form this seed produce a race of 200 million. Then the world will belong to us
(Heinrich Himmler). Himmler himself was a man like Hitler, crazed and obsessed
with purifying the Nazi world and turning it into one that is occupied by those of the
Aryan race[Blond haired and light eyed]. Those in support of the Nazi party during
World War Two, would call him genius and his ideas brilliant, while others, like
those who were either born or forced into the Lebensborn program would strongly
disagree. The word Lebensborn comes from the German phrase meaning fountain of
life, which seems fitting, as the program was designed by Heinrich Himmlerto build
his mater race. By Learning about Himmler s... Show more content on

As the war progressed, Himmler s plan was not entirely as successful as he had
originally hoped for, so he ordered his SS officers to take his mission into occupied
nations and begin the breading of more Nordic children. Unfortunately, the result of
this was unkind to the women from the occupied lands that became pregnant with
the enemies spawn, as they were outcasts among their homelands. In a
documentary entitled The Last Nazis 3 Children of the master race, David
Morrissey said Hitler had perverted Darwin s survival of the fittest, to justify his
notion that a strong race shall prove its right to exist (David Morrissey). Heinrich
Himmler, Hitler s right hand man, had this very same vision, and this was the reason
for the creation of the Lebensborn program. As of today, it is estimated that
approximately 16,000 Lebensborn babies were born in Nazi Germany and occupied
territories between
1935 and 1945.
When reflecting on his plans to build the Aryan race, Himmler said I intend to take
German blood from wherever it is to be found in the world, to rob and steal it
wherever I can

Ryme Of The Ancient Mariner Essay
Of all the stories and poems we have read for the second semester my top three
favorite would have to be Ryme of the Ancient Mariner by Samuel Coleridge as my
third favorite. Then to follow Ryme would be Ozymandis by Shelley. This would
then conclude with my favorite text of the second quarter being To a Mouseby Robert
Burns. The three poems or stories just listed are my favorite due to the way that
their author was able to reach out and grab his audience by the ear. The authors all
had a beautiful way of capturing the reader s attention and holding it. In Ryme the
audience was able to provided this story that kept the audience waiting because
they didn t know what was up with the old man stopping the young wedding guest
in order to tell him his story. The poem of Ozymandis is able to hold the attention
by providing the reader the question of is nature going to slaughter us all one day.
To a Mouse caught its readers attention by making us question if we get too attached
to the things of today. These stories all hold a place in my heart because they are
pure beauty, with a... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The author, Robert Burns, remarks that the mouse ran away as its house was
destroyed. The author used this as an explanation as to why mice might be more
evolved than humans The mouse as well as with other animals Have begun to
move away from material objects and have begun to focus on survival instead of
comfort. While some are able to completely give up material objects others are not
willing to because they are too tied into the current world. We as a race need to
become like the animals that are focusing on surviving instead of living in nice
houses, and having nice cars. Robert Burns was addressing a problem that he was
hoping wouldn t exist in the future, unfortunately it only got worse. Our obsession
with technology is going to bring our race to its knees. It might already be too late to

Digital Payment Is A Way Of Payment
Digital Payments
Digital payment is a way of payment where the, payer and payee both use electronic
modes to send and receive money. The transactions in digital payments can be
completed using cards, mobile or internet based setups. It is an instant and convenient
way to make payments.
Several macroeconomic factors indicate that the basic ingredients for successful
creation of a digital ecosystem are rapidly falling in place, far exceeding the supply
side capabilities that support the Indian government s agenda of financial inclusion.
For instance, digital banking offers numerous advantages that work towards
improving the same, largely riding on the fact that Indian consumers have shown
tremendous preference for digital technologies, with ... Show more content on

However, as noted by a recent inquiry done by Ministry of Finance, there remains a
case for catalysing the process of attaining greater financial inclusion, with the
overarching goal of including over 90% of underserved sections of society in the
ambit of formal finance by the year 2021.
When one considers the array of financial services that are available as a part of the
formal financial system, there is an observable hierarchy of demand within financial
products (Source: Payment Council of India).
The focus of the Committee was not merely on enabling payments, but to strengthen
the ecosystem for digital payments. The question therefore why digital .
As per Committee there are four key factors that make paperless payment instruments
and systems more desirable.
1)Cash is expensive, while there are several perceived benefits of transacting in cash
(such as instantaneous settlement, relative anonymity, and the notion of security
associated with holding physical value), there are several latent and implicit costs
associated with cash.
2)Technology has been advancing at a rapid pace to deliver robust, secure and
convenient payments solutions. This enables rapid delivery of payment services to
large sections of the population.
3)Digital payments allow for services to be delivered at lower costs, afford greater
scalability and greater ease of access. This
Article 3 Of The Uniform Commercial Code (UCC)
A document guaranteeing the payment of a specific amount of money is called a
negotiable instrument. Explicitly, the negotiable instrument guarantees the precise
amount of money to be paid on demand or a set time, with the payee normally named
on the document. This instrument is governed by state statutory law. Autonomously,
each state has implemented with some modifications Article 3 of the Uniform
Commercial Code (UCC). The UCC defined the validity of a negotiable instrument.
Unconventionally, the validity of a negotiable instrument must comply with seven
requirements by law. An instrument becomes invalid and enforceable as between the
original parties to the instrument, if any of these requirements are lacking. Listed are

The difficulty lies in the abstract nature of concepts and the need to convey them clearly to the reader. Unlike essays on concrete topics, where facts and evidence are readily available, concept essays demand a more nuanced approach. One of the challenges is defining the concept itself. Concepts are often abstract and multifaceted, making it crucial to provide a comprehensive and precise definition. Moreover, exploring the various dimensions and aspects of the concept requires a thorough analysis, critical thinking, and the ability to connect different ideas coherently. Crafting a compelling thesis statement is another hurdle. The thesis should encapsulate the essence of the chosen concept while offering a roadmap for the essay. Striking the right balance between being concise and thorough is crucial to keep the reader engaged. Structuring the essay poses its own set of difficulties. Achieving a logical flow of ideas, ensuring each paragraph contributes to the overall argument, and maintaining clarity can be daunting. Transitioning between different aspects of the concept seamlessly requires finesse in writing. Additionally, finding relevant examples and evidence to support your points can be challenging, especially if the concept is abstract or lacks concrete manifestations. It requires creativity and the ability to draw connections between the theoretical and the practical. Finally, wrapping up the essay with a strong conclusion that summarizes the key points and leaves a lasting impression on the reader can be a delicate task. Balancing a sense of closure with an invitation for further contemplation adds to the complexity. In conclusion, writing an essay on the topic of "Concept Essays" demands a combination of analytical skills, creativity, and effective communication. It's an intellectually challenging task that requires careful consideration of language, structure, and content to successfully convey abstract ideas to the reader. For those seeking assistance with such essays or similar academic tasks, various resources are available. Her poem Phenomenal Woman, talks about how she is not a pretty woman, yet that does not stop the men from looking and wondering about her. Maya Angelou uses imagery, tone, and the title to describe her view of herself compared to the pretty woman Imagery in the poem Phenomenal Woman is important. Maya Angelou uses imagery in the poem because the speaker is comparing herself, a regular woman, to the way media suggest woman should look. She uses this literary technique in each stanza, especially in the second stanza of the poem, describing how men react to her and not the pretty woman. Then they swarm around me, hive of honey bees (lines 19 20), creating an example of imagery saying that wherever the speaker ends up men began to surround her. In all of the stanzas, almost in the middle of each one, the speaker describes herself, It s in the arch of my back, the sun of my smile, the ride of my breast, the grace of my style (lines 38 41). • 6. The Big Bang Theory Of The Universe Essay Evidence pointed towards that the universe was expanding, but this was not enough to separate the Big Bang theory from its rivals. A few decades after the redshift concept was discovered, scientists detected groundbreaking evidence that was considered the smoking gun. Arno Penzias and Robert Wilson detected the remnants of radiation created from the Big Bang. This cosmic background radiation was the thermal radiation left over from the Big Bang. It was collected in the form as omnidirectional microwaves, which was red shifted because of the expansion of the universe. While they were not able to detect large quantities of cosmic background radiation, the principle of overdetermination allowed them to make claims from this evidence. They deduced that this radiation must of come from a Big Bang event were protons and neutrons formed hydrogen atom. This was the smoking gun to the beginning of the universe, it revealed that only an event like the Big Bang could create this radiation. All the evidence collected suggested that an event like the Big Bang would be the only explanation to what scientists had collected. The Big Bang theory became the most probable theory against its rivals, but scientists were tasked with an even more difficult problem. They needed to be able to explain how the Big Bang resulted in the unique universe we observe around us. With the Big Bang theory established, scientists needed to understand how this theory could create our observable

One should realize that the film portrays the replicants as normal humans, thereby making it impossible for the common people to identify the differences. This science fiction film introduces a time when people would not be able to differentiate between themselves and their most advanced creations and it is very interesting to know that the replicants have individual personalities, sexuality, and sense of self. Moreover, they are able to have a consciousness and emotions as they interact with the human around them. The fact that the test called Voigt Kampff has to be administered to make sure if it is a replicant, this also proves the nature of these creatures are totally similar to
  • 8. Gender Roles Of Women s Collective Identity Essay Gender is one social division in society that plays a significant role in people s collective identity. While the male gender is the privileged gender in New Zealand s society, New Zealand s view of masculinity in the 21st century is still an area for many social struggles and contestation. Ideas of masculinity are instilled at such a young age and people are socialized to feel pressure to conform to gendernorms because they are taught to insult or degrade those who are different. This paper will look at the work of Richard Pringle (2007) and Shane Town (1999) to explore some of New Zealand s ideas of the male gender and sexuality in Aotearoa/New Zealand. Word count: 110 Richard Pringle: Richard Pringle (2007) work raises the important and sometimes overlooked topic of male masculinity. Pringle (2007) starts of his work by pointing out that the construction of masculinity in society is complex. It is different for each social context and person. This immediately creates a tension of where each individual sits in the society in which they live. It also means that literature is theoretical and often key ideas are generalised. It would be an overwhelming piece of research (although now technologically feasible) to seek everyone s opinion on issues. New Zealand society demonstrates the belief of a hegemonic masculine society. Hegemonic masculinity is defined by Pringle (2007) as the collective, dominate, social belief of the desirable way one should act male. Tony Porter

Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... During the course of the novel, Rushdie uses the narrator, whom we assume to be Satan himself, to illustrate to the reader why women are more inclined to not follow the strict rules of Islam, and instead stray towards to devil because of better quality of life promised with the devil as opposed to the demeaning and shameful life they lead in the religion of Islam. In the Mahound chapter of The Satanic Verses, the narrator tells the story of Ibrahim and his wife and son, Hagar and Ismail. He took them to a waterless wilderness (96) where he abandoned them, but before he left Hagar asked him Can this be God s will? (96), and Ibrahim replied that it was. The narrator says that men have always used God as an excuse to mistreat women in their lives and then goes off on a tangent thinking to himself Small wonder, then, that women have turned to me (96). This is where the reader can make the inference that the narrator is Satan because women are turning to him and away from God and religion. They feel as though they are treated better by the devil rather than God because the men in Islamic societies always justify the horrible things they do to women by saying it is indeed God s will. Later on in the book in the chapter A City Visible but Unseen Rushdie again shows the favoritism of males over females. When Hind gives birth to her second daughter, Anahita, she is so upset that she only has two girls that she refuses to have
  • 14. History And Development Of Modern Operative Obstetrics Essay Chapter 2 2.1 History of caesarean section and development of modern operative obstetrics The first modern caesarean section was performed by German gynaecologist Ferdinand Adolf Kehrer in 1881.(1) Probably the very first documented evidence of caesarean birth is a legal text dating to theera of Hammurabi (1795 1750 BC), describing the birth of a male child pulled out of the womb of a deceased woman (7). The name sectio caesarea was first used by the French obstetrician Guillimeau in 1598. At that time, the operation was used to deliver live babies from dead mothers (4). There are three different explanations about the origin of the name of the operation. 1)In 715 BC, the King of Rome, Numa Pompilius, codified the Roman laws. According to the law, it was forbidden to bury a dead pregnant woman before the fetus was excised. If the child was alive, it was called a caeson . This law, Lex Caesaris or Lex Caesarea, is assumed to be the origin for the name of the procedure cesarean section (4, 7, 9). 2)It has also been stated, that Julius Caesar has been delivered by this method, and gave the name for the operation. This is considered unlikely, because his mother is known to have been alive during Julius Caesars adulthood. During his reign about 100 BC no woman is known to have survived the operation. 3)A third explanation is that the name is simply derived from the Latin verb caedare, to cut. The word section is also derived from the latin verb secare, to cut (4).

For instance, this is seen in New Orleans jazz and other big band swings of jazz (Caines Heble, 2014). While the physical store continues to exist and even thrive in many cases the risk of turning irrelevant remains. Millennials who will constitute a significant percentage of the consumer population in the future prefer the convenience of online and mobile shopping. When they occasionally do step into the store, it is more likely to experience the product than complete a purchase. Smart retailers know that the only way to survive the onslaught of multiple channels is to reinvent the store by offering a personalized experience that extends beyond what a consumer gets online. This calls for collection and analysis of consumer and transactional data. It is not just online retailers who are sitting on huge data mounds. Physical stores operating in digitized environments have access to rich shopper data too: Point Of Sale systems, loyalty programs, surveillance cameras, and facial recognition systems. They must leverage this data by performing analytics and use the insights gained to improve the store experience

  • 26. Pro-Coal Mining And Anti-Coal Mining Methods 1.What is mountain top removal and what is its purpose? (.5 page) Mountain top removal is the practice for removing the peaks from mountains to expose coal seams for extraction, and dumping the excess rocks and earth is then dumped into holler fills. This is accomplished by use of explosives and huge trucks and machinery. They are blowing off the top of mountains and dumping the rubble into the water. It was originally intended to be a rare practice, but now it is business as usual. The purpose of mountain top mining is to maximize profit potential for coal companies. Coal remains one of the significant sources of energy in the world. Approximately around 50 percent % of the United States rely on coal as a provider for their electricity. These companies lease land from residents and stand to gain most of the profits from the coal. Mountain top removal is cheap alternative to traditional methods of manual extracting coal. Mountain top removal operations requires only a few number of workers, but a large amount of big equipment, and dynamite. Not a matter of putting people in a hole to get coal anymore. Now there is an entire industry built up around extracting coal. 2.What are the different pro coal mining and anti coal mining arguments made throughout the film? Who are the proponents/opponents of the coal mining industry and what sorts of environmental ethics frameworks do they use to express their views? The Vietnam War Was A Damaging Conflict Victoria Valean Professor William Mack U.S. History 2 16 April 2015 Vietnam War The Vietnam War was a damaging conflict that left deep scars on all the people and countries that were involved. About 60,000 American lives were taken and an estimated 2,000,000 Vietnamese were killed or wounded. That is about 10 percent of Vietnam s population. Many bombs, weapons, and chemical warfare destroyed Vietnam s infrastructure and land. Not only did this war bring destruction to Vietnam s physical country, but it helped bring down two presidential administrations in the U.S., and led to widespread public dissent in America. The American foreign policy today is still affected by the lessons learned in the Vietnam War. On November 1st, 1964, about 100 Vietcong guerillas attacked an American air base in Bien Hoa. This was the first battle of the Vietnam War. The Vietcong completely startled the South Vietnamese soldiers and the American soldiers as well. The guerillas launched their attack from the dense jungle. It consisted of fired mortars and cannons that hit the American base, and the Vietcong guerillas managed to disappear into the jungle before squads could search for them. The sneaky guerillas destroyed 6 American planes and damaged 20 others. Their attack included the killing of 5 Americans and 2 South Vietnamese soldiers, along with leaving over 100 wounded. Fruit Tree Diversity And Fruit Consumption Chapter 4: Fruit tree diversity and fruit consumption in the context of deforestation in Cameroon 1.INTRODUCTION The world has been confronted with serious difficulties in curbing the rate of undernourishment, especially in sub Sahara Africa (Vicenti et al., 2013; Arnold et al., 2011; Goenster et al., 2011). In developing countries, the livelihood and food security of smallholder land users are often at risk from unpredictable harvests, land degradation and climate change (Paumgarten and Shackleton, 2011; Mertens et al., 2000; Ndoye and Kaimowitz, 2000; Sunderlin et al., 2000). Of about one billion hungry people globally, 98% live in developing countries. Seventy percent of chronically hungry people are smallholder farmers, 43% of total farmers worldwide are women and 38% of youths in Africa are working in agriculture (Conway and Wilson, 2012; FAO, 2011). For instance, in forest areas of Cameroon, stunting and chronic malnutrition was experienced by 30.3% of children between 24 47 months in the South region and 27.8% in the Centre region (Socpa et al., 2008). Since the varieties of wildfruits are numerous (Matig et al., 2006; van Wyk, 2005) and vary from one season and climatic region to another, fruits and wild foods can constitute important sources of food during crop scarcity (Vicenti et al., 2013; Termote et al., 2012; Ingram and Shure 2010; Nesbit et al., 2010; Shackleton and Shackleton, 2004). • 43. Husserl on Passive Synthesis In this section Husserl compares the progressive perceptual process of an immanent object with that of a transcendent (i.e. spatial object), with special interest towards the Now phase of perception. He quickly points out that immanent objects only have . . . one possible way to be given in the original in every Now . . . which means during the duration of an experience of an immanent object, a color for example, the object is completely determined and the distinction between appearing and what appears is collapsed(ACPAC553). The reverse is true in the case of external perceptions of transcendent objects. The sense is, however, never fully given in an absolute way in the external perception of transcendent objects. This leads us to the issue of skepticism. In external perception, according to Husserl, the accomplishment of sense giving is never complete as there is a continuous bringing forth of intuitions which fulfill empty prefigured intentions of the object. (ACPAC57) But this is not the only function of the sense giving, the sense itself, Husserl says, . . . is continually cultivated and is genuinely so in steady transformations, constantly leaving open the possibility of new transformations. (ACPAC57) That is, the sense becomes enriched as it exists for a conscious subject, which makes perception an acquisition of knowledge. For although there is an ever changing sense exhibited through the external perception of a transcendent object, there is also the unified, what Husserl calls, substrate x which subsists through all the flowing of sense in whatever How mode it is presented. This is the sense which becomes ever more determined and enriched. Spawned by this process is an unattainable idea which, according to Husserl, lies in infinity , and that is the idea of an absolute and determined transcendent object (ACPAC58). At best, for Husserl, we grasp in the flesh a flowing approximation which acts as if it were the essence but only produces a partial intuitive

The word Lebensborn comes from the German phrase meaning fountain of life, which seems fitting, as the program was designed by Heinrich Himmlerto build his mater race. By Learning about Himmler s... As the war progressed, Himmler s plan was not entirely as successful as he had originally hoped for, so he ordered his SS officers to take his mission into occupied nations and begin the breading of more Nordic children. Unfortunately, the result of this was unkind to the women from the occupied lands that became pregnant with the enemies spawn, as they were outcasts among their homelands. In a documentary entitled The Last Nazis 3 Children of the master race, David Morrissey said Hitler had perverted Darwin s survival of the fittest, to justify his notion that a strong race shall prove its right to exist (David Morrissey). Heinrich Himmler, Hitler s right hand man, had this very same vision, and this was the reason for the creation of the Lebensborn program. As of today, it is estimated that approximately 16,000 Lebensborn babies were born in Nazi Germany and occupied territories between 1935 and 1945. When reflecting on his plans to build the Aryan race, Himmler said I intend to take German blood from wherever it is to be found in the world, to rob and steal it wherever I can

Ryme Of The Ancient Mariner Essay Of all the stories and poems we have read for the second semester my top three favorite would have to be Ryme of the Ancient Mariner by Samuel Coleridge as my third favorite. Then to follow Ryme would be Ozymandis by Shelley. This would then conclude with my favorite text of the second quarter being To a Mouseby Robert Burns. The three poems or stories just listed are my favorite due to the way that their author was able to reach out and grab his audience by the ear. The authors all had a beautiful way of capturing the reader s attention and holding it. In Ryme the audience was able to provided this story that kept the audience waiting because they didn t know what was up with the old man stopping the young wedding guest in order to tell him his story. The poem of Ozymandis is able to hold the attention by providing the reader the question of is nature going to slaughter us all one day. To a Mouse caught its readers attention by making us question if we get too attached to the things of today. These stories all hold a place in my heart because they are pure beauty, with a... The author used this as an explanation as to why mice might be more evolved than humans The mouse as well as with other animals Have begun to move away from material objects and have begun to focus on survival instead of comfort. While some are able to completely give up material objects others are not willing to because they are too tied into the current world. We as a race need to become like the animals that are focusing on surviving instead of living in nice houses, and having nice cars. Robert Burns was addressing a problem that he was hoping wouldn t exist in the future, unfortunately it only got worse. Our obsession with technology is going to bring our race to its knees. It might already be too late to stop

As per Committee there are four key factors that make paperless payment instruments and systems more desirable. 1)Cash is expensive, while there are several perceived benefits of transacting in cash (such as instantaneous settlement, relative anonymity, and the notion of security associated with holding physical value), there are several latent and implicit costs associated with cash. 2)Technology has been advancing at a rapid pace to deliver robust, secure and convenient payments solutions.
