Feminists would not agree with this graph because they believe men live longer
than men, women would suggest that women are being more deprived as they are
seen as the more emotional gender and also that they are being disadvantaged

whereas when it comes to men, they don t seek help until the illness or disease gets

The swing era consisted of interesting dances, including the Lindy Hop (Savoy
Night life). These dances primarily differed from those of Latin Dance, such as the
Rumba, Samba and Mambo, but do have some similarities as well. Here are some of

Over time people continue to misunderstand marijuana. Many link it to several
adverse effects, however, the drug can have positive contributions. In 2015,
Canadians elected a federal government that proposed to legalize marijuana after four

It tells us that technology sometimes is dangerous and vital if we cannot gain
power over it. Later in the movie, Dr. Neville takes Anna to the lab, Anna is
amazed to see the zombies lying on the bed, and simply sighed Oh my god , Dr.
Neville just said calmly God didn t do this; we did . Again, Dr. Neville uncovered
the truth that all the faults actually are made by ourselves though new technology
does help us in some cases. However, human begins should be responsible for what

There is an alternate ending which is totally different from the original one we
have seen in the movie, which amazed me a lot. In the original one, it is a pity that
Dr. Neville died in the end with the self explored; according to many reviews, the
majority of the audiences do not like this ending. The alternate ending is that Robert
finally brushes up against a zombie next to him and comes in contact with him; he
never gets that close to any of them in the movie and seeing that gives me a chill. In
this ending, it leaves me the normal human feelings, which makes Dr. Neville more

Nathaniel Hawthorne the writer of the Scarlet Letter in the 19th century has the story
placed in a puritan, abundant town in the 1600 s. The strict inhabitants of the puritan
town are ruled by corrupt and unrealistic extreme decrees which make them to
believe that they are the children of god. The puritans are condemned if they sin and
this follows the two main characters of the novel, The Scarlet letter. The world of
puritans is a destructive, and torturing, that abuses the power given to scare the
people into submission. In the novel the scarlet letter, Nathaniel Hawthorneuses the
symbolism of The Scarlet Letter, pearl, and Dimmesdale to contribute to the overall
theme of guilt.
To begin, Hawthorne uses The Scarlet letter to contribute to the theme of guilt. Hester
Prynne a normal women in a puritan society sinned and committed adultery. Her
punishment is she has to wear The Scarlet Letter for the rest of her life. Not only
does it hurt her physically but it also hurts her mentally. Hawthorne explains let her
cover the mark as she will, but the pain of it will always be in her heart (Hawthorne
49). This quote shows that this letter isn t just a worthless piece of fabric but it s a
symbol of sin and guilt and it will always be in her heart. When people see Hester

In Forster s dystopian short story The Machine Stops , the ways of communication
are different from the conventional practice. Most characters seldom communicate
face to face, which is a way of direct human contact they avoid. This leads to conflict
between the characters. Vashti, Kuno s mother, finds the conversation with Kuno a
waste of time and remains unwilling to visit him until he insists. Kuno, who seems to
be a misfit in that world, wants to see his estranged mother, not through the Machine
which Vashti worships and heavily depends on. Other forms of communicationalso

instances of literary devices. In all of its context, it is easy to see that Fitzgerald

chapters of this book, Fitzgerald uses many metaphors to describe a resemblance.
When Nick is describing Daisy at the beginning he says, I had no sight into Daisy s
heart. (pg.6) This metaphor could be used by Fitzgerald to hint to the reader that
no one really know what or who Daisy really cared about or who she loved. This
example also foreshadows the reader into thinking that something will come up
later in the story in regard to Daisy s feelings in her heart. Another device that you
will find many times in this book is a hyperbole. Going back to when Nick is

by the foundation. Everyone needs to belong somewhere. In the genre of science
fiction, human beings especially need to belong to a group because now there are
other groups. For example, in Robbie there are robots. Robots are unfamiliar they

group. Traditionally, there are only two genders so conforming to a gender is the

male to allow Robbie to become the hero and he illustrates Robbie as a traditional
female to give the character another element of likability and familiarity to the
reader. Robbie is socialized as a male which gives the character the ability to
become the hero but, Robbie is also socialized as a female which not only gives
Robbie the ability to be accepted as a likable character but, this gives Robbie the
ability to be accepted within the barrier of the traditional stereotype of a childcare

INTRODUCTION
The First Nations children were greatly affected by the residential schools, as it left
them physically and emotionally damaged from the trauma of being isolated from
their families and cultural values; being abused (physically, verbally and sexually)
while also being discriminated against, which had lasting effects. Although there were
many other tribes who were also neglected, such as the metis and the units, my focus
will be on the First Nations boys and girls who were affected by the residential
schools and how it continues to affect them in today s society. Throughout this
essay, I will be proving examples and research to show what the residential schools
were followed by what type of effects it had on the boys and girls who were forced to

The Indian Residential Schools were boarding schools that forced students to leave
their families and homes in order to go and continue their education elsewhere. They

creates a plot that revolves around mistaken identity and deception. Mistaken identity,
along with disguises, rules the play and affects the lives of several of the characters.
Shakespeare s techniques involve mistaken identity to bring humor, mystery, and
complication to the play. Many characters in Twelfth Nightassume disguises,
beginning with Viola who is disguised as a eunuch, Maria who writes a letter to
Malvolio as Olivia, and then the mix up between Sebastian and Viola are revealed.
The instances of mistaken identity are related to many disguises in the play. Viola,
