Obstacle Essay
Crafting an essay on the theme of obstacles presents a unique set of challenges that can test the
mettle of even the most seasoned writers. The very nature of the topic demands a delicate
balance between introspection and objectivity, as one delves into personal experiences while
maintaining a broader perspective.
Firstly, the task requires a profound level of self-reflection. Unearthing one's obstacles involves
revisiting moments of struggle, vulnerability, and perhaps even failure. This process can be
emotionally taxing, demanding an honest confrontation with one's weaknesses and setbacks. The
writer must navigate the fine line between authenticity and discretion, choosing which aspects of
their journey to share without oversharing or veering into the realm of self-pity.
Moreover, weaving a compelling narrative around obstacles necessitates a keen awareness of the
broader context. It requires the writer to connect personal challenges with universal themes,
making the essay relatable to a diverse audience. This demands not only a deep understanding of
one's own experiences but also the ability to distill the essence of those experiences into a
narrative that resonates with others.
Structurally, organizing an obstacle essay poses its own set of hurdles. Achieving a coherent
flow while juggling the chronological or thematic presentation of obstacles can be tricky. Writers
must carefully select which events to highlight, ensuring that the narrative remains focused and
purposeful. Balancing the emotional weight of the challenges with the need for a clear and
concise exposition adds another layer of complexity.
In addition to the emotional and structural challenges, there's the task of infusing the essay with
a sense of growth and resilience. A successful obstacle essay not only recounts difficulties but
also emphasizes the lessons learned and personal evolution. This requires the writer to articulate
not just the obstacles themselves, but the transformative journey that ensued, all while avoiding
clichГ©s and platitudes.
In conclusion, tackling an obstacle essay involves a multifaceted process that demands emotional
honesty, narrative finesse, and the ability to draw meaningful connections between personal
experiences and universal truths. It is an intricate dance between introspection and
communication, making it a formidable task for any writer.
For those seeking assistance or looking to explore similar themes in their writing, a variety of
resources are available. Professional writing services, such asHelpWriting.net, offer the
opportunity to commission essays and delve into a wealth of topics, allowing individuals to
navigate the complexities of personal storytelling with support and expertise.

A Study On The Children
Hi Families,
It is almost the end of the year and the students have accomplished so much. I am
fortunate enough to witness exploration and creativity every day with your
children. The growth I ve seen so far is remarkable! Shy little ones who barely spoke
back in September are now approaching me and telling me all about their weekend
and their best play date party EVER!
It has been an exciting month in the rainforest! Measurements are all around us and
the children have been measuring up to everything in the classroom. Every day the
children have been experimenting with real objects to gain understanding
measurement concepts. To begin this week s lesson, the children measure and
compare the circumference of objects, they measure the distance objects travel, and
they explored the concept of volume by measuring how much of a certain material
fits into a different container.
Below are some of the activities we have done this week.
The children learned that different objects can have the same or different
circumference. We started the lesson by talking about previous measuring activities
we did in our Living Things in the Neighborhood theme. We talked about the activity
we did on measuring trees and I asked the children to recall what we did when we
measured the circumference of the trees. Some of the children remembered the
activity and commented that we used a measuring tape to measure the tree. They did
not remember the meaning of the word circumference, so I
Simon Farrah Abraham Character Analysis
Simon Saran is a forced to be reckoned with. His on again off again relationship
with Farrah Abraham has been documented through Teen Mom OG. The two are
apparently off at the moment, though that doesn t mean there isn t a reconciliation
possible. Because Saran has been a huge part of the MTV franchise, the show
offered him his own special. This is a big deal because the ones who have been
offered the same have all been married to or have had children with the star they
were attached to while filming. Being Simon is set to air this coming Wednesday
on MTV. It will be an hour long special featuring Simon Saran in his everyday life.
He confirmed this was coming back in June, but Farrah Abraham shaded him when
he mentioned it. The two have been hot and cold for several months now. Saran is a
businessman, and now, Abraham is back to selling sex.... Show more content on

According to Starcasm, Simon Saran and Courtland Rogers got into an insult match
where one went a little too far. Everyone knows that Twitter is the place where
anything goes. Racial comments, insults, and everything else can be seen on the
platform with no enforcing of etiquette. Saran was going off about Donald Trump
being blamed for the Las Vegas massacre, and Rogers decided to have his say with
him. It appears that since Jenelle Evans no longer wants anything to do with
Courtland, he is really trying to stay relevant. Both men reverted to heavy insults,
with Courtland Rogers insinuating that Simon Saran was a terrorist with a tweet
about hijacking a plane. Of course, Simon wasn t innocent in the debate, but
Courtland really went the whole nine yards with his comments. There is a streak of
jealousy there. Being Simon is airing this upcoming week and since Rogers no
longer has any connection to the show, there may be a little bitterness. The two
exchanged a few more tweets and that was
Prince Albert V Strange Case Study
Warren and Brandeis inferred bolster for this conclusion from the case of Prince
Albert v. Strange, I McN. G. 25 (1849): Ruler Victoria and Sovereign Albert made
representations of family and different thing that is being discussed and had them
transformed into etchings to be given to loved ones. In 1849 Interesting distributed an
index of the private etchings done by Sovereign Albert and Ruler Victoria; he had
gotten the etchings from a light fingered printer. Albert sued Bizarre to charge the
exhibition of the pictures and the publication of a descriptive index, asserting the
etchings were private, and not distributed to the world. The court concurred with the
Sovereign.
As per them, copyright is not a tool that only employs to protect privacy and very
soon courts identify this and implying as a term in a contract and finding a breach of
trust into privacy.
English court takes the same similar steps towards in Abernethy v. Hutchinson a case.
In this case, Abernethy known specialist tried to order his restorative understudies
from distributing an arrangement of addresses conveyed in his classroom. Because
every lecture was as orally, and it had not committed them to writing, the court regret
to enjoin the students planned publication of copyright remedies and the court order
that student makes a violation of confidence of his teacher. In the court s view, they
were permitted to only attend the lecture only for the purposes of their own
information, and could not

However, the studies reveal inconsistent results as to whether both constructs always
determine security behavior (Liang Xue, 2010). Woon et al. (2005) indicate that
perceived severity determines whether individuals take security measures to protect
their home wireless network security. Ng et al. (2009) reveal that perceived
susceptibility impacts users securitybehavior to protect their emails, while Workman

user IT behavior. As perception of threat increases, users are more motivated to

However, many of these studies focused on information security knowledge sharing

Safa et al. (2016) defined collaboration as a recursive process, where people, teams,
or organizations work together to perform a task or accomplish a goal. Hence,
information security collaboration can assist in distribution and sharing of
information security knowledge among users, as highlighted by Ahmad, Hadgkiss,
and Ruighaver (2012). Similarly, Feledi, Fenz, Lechner, (2013) indicated that
collaboration can be applied in the form of submitting, commenting on, and peer
reviewing the knowledge shared, while Mace, Parkin, and Moorsel (2010) suggested
that collaboration is a key benefit for identifying features to assess information
security threats also that collaboration can create valuable knowledge in information
security domain as it assist users to understand and extend their information about
security breaches. Bernard (2007) found that information security collaboration
decreases the cost of gaining security knowledge
Fibromyalgia Pain Case Study
Chief Complaint Fibromuscular dysplasia. History The patient is a 59 year old right
handed white female who was admitted in June to Portsmouth Regional Hospital for
what was determined to be either transient global amnesia or complicated migraine. I
did review those notes. She was seen by Galina Simkin, MD. The symptomatology
discussed in the H P is consistent with transient global amnesia. She was having
problems asking questions inappropriately, repeating sentences, repeating questions
over and over again, and seeming somewhat confused. There were no other
neurological symptoms at that time. No evidence for seizure activity. No evidence
for stroke. She was brought to the emergency room, where she underwent a CAT
scan, which was... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I do not think that this was the etiology for the spell that she presented for in June.
I think that was a transient global amnesia, which resulted in the discovery of the
fibromuscular dysplasia. Currently, she does not have any evidence for large
vessel TIAs or strokes to suggest that the fibromuscular dysplasia of the internal
carotid arteries is symptomatic. She does have small vessel ischemic disease and
does have a history of high blood pressure. She was not on a baby aspirin a day.
She is currently on a baby aspirin a day. Antiplatelet medication is the treatment of
choice for fibromuscular dysplasia in the absence of severe stenosis or frank
aneurysm. Plan She does have a history of hypertension, so I am going to send her
to Michael Danielski, MD to evaluate her for the possibility of fibromuscular
dysplasia of the renal arteries. If he decides to do an angiogram of the renal
arteries, than I would like to also add an angiogram of the carotid arteries to get a
good view of the amount of stenosis. Alternately, I could get carotid ultrasound and
follow any progression of stenosis that way. The course of further neurological
workup will depend on what Dr. Danielski wants to do in evaluating her renal
How Does George Orwell Use Speech In 1984
One fundamental aspect to consider when it comes to writing novels is the way an
author presents speeches and thoughts. This is a vital element to analyse with the
purpose of investigating what effect they leave on the novel itself. With this essay, I
shall be dealing with four parts of George Orwell s Nineteen Eighty Four in
chronological order, dealing with six types of speech and thought presentations that
Geoffrey Leech and Mick Short introduced. The six types shall be split into three
speech presentations while the other three shall be thought presentations. The parts to
be analysed are located in the appendix.
Aim
There are two main aims I want to present in this essay. Firstly, I shall analyse the
novel parts to see how George Orwell utilizes the speech and thought presentation
framework in order to create an effect on the book. Secondly, I shall discuss what
effect it leaves on the book, that is, why George ... Show more content on

It is important to note that although Winston is discussing some new information
with Julia, he is not telling the reader any new information.
Framework
This type of speech is described as narrative report of speech act. This is due to the
fact that the narrator does not commit entirely to what was said in the speech (Leech
Short, 2013, p. 259). Instead, the narrator opts to generalise what was said as there is
minimal account of what Winston talked about (Simpson, 1993, p.21). In this case,
the narrator appears in full control of the speech act.
Author s aim
Orwell utilizes this type of speech act so to not prolong lengthy speeches on subjects
which have either already been told to the reader or are trivial to the main plot. Thus,
the narrator takes over to create a smoother flow and to keep the reader interested
with new information instead of repeating.

The Splatterhouse Video
Before watching the clips, I was feeling content. I was not frustrated with anything or
anyone, I was calm and I just watched a few funny videos, which brought my mood
up even more. During the first video, immediately, my thoughts were about the
quality of the animation and the story line. As for the violence, I didn t like looking at
it. I tried to turn away a few times. I think that there was an excessive amount of
gore that could have been easily cut out, but it wasn t, because the viewers or the
gamers like it.
The second video was a lot worse in my opinion. The Splatterhouse video had some
sort of story line beside the gore, but this video only showed a first point view of a
person killing people in many different ways. Because of the quality of the video, I
didn t actually see anything too graphic, but just the idea of people enjoying this game
made me a little scared for our society.
During the third video, I thought about how believable the scenes were. The lighting

Gore and violence doesn t interest me and I actually turn away from the screen any
time there s a graphic scene in a movie, which explains why these clips didn t have
any effect on me. The only clip that slightly interested me was Saw. I thought that
the story line was interesting, but I still wouldn t watch the actual movie, because
of the violent scenes that I would have to watch. Though I had almost no interest
in these videos and found most of the scenes repulsive, I caught myself on the
thought that by the time I was watching the fourth video, I got used to the violence
portrayed in these videos. If the first video made me want to turn away from the
screen, the last video had no effect on me at all. I believe that this explains the mere
exposure theory. The only thing I did was sit and watch a few clips, but the effect
was that I became immune to the violence for at least some
Compare And Contrast Coal And Solar Energy
For many years, energy has been a need for people everywhere. What has become of
the world today is due to the revolution in energy use. There are two types of energy
non renewables and sources renewables. An example of a non renewable is coal and
it is a great type of fossil fuel the reason being is because it is a reliable source of
electricity. Examples of renewables are wind, water and solar power. Renewables
can be recovered and reused while on another hand a non renewables can not be used
again. Coalhas been used for thousands of years archaeologists discovered that coal
was used even in the second and third centuries by the Romans. Solar power is a
renewable source since it s powered by the sun. It can be changed into other forms for
example both heat and electricity can come directly from the sun. The sun s power
has been used for a lifetime to heat up our homes, water (to drink and bathe), and
our food as well. Both energy sources coal and solar are quite reliable resources, and
are used very much. As worldwide energy sources, coal and solar power share
similarities and differences when it comes to having a huge impact on the
environment the world s economic status within how much money we profit from
them and human health such as increased lung cancer rates.
During the time that humans have been living on earth the environment has evolved
especially the way we have treated it. Now that we have found a large variation of
energy sources we have effected it even more.

According to The United States Census Bureau, the United States population
accounts for less than 5 percent of the world population. The United States, however,
houses more than 20% of the world inmate population. From 1978 to 2014, there has
been a sharp increase of the inmate population to the tune of over 400% an alarming
number that is not likely to decrease anytime soon (ACLU, n.d.). The United States
government has placed tougher sanctions and punishments on criminals since the late
1970s, which has led to this massive growth in prisonpopulation, but are these harsh
methods effective? Instead of a place for rehabilitation, prison is a breeding ground
for criminal enterprises. Serious issues such as sexual assault, drugs abuse,... Show

Donald Hutcherson, an Ohio sociologist put this into a financial prospective in one
of his researches by comparing illegal earnings of ex convicts and those without
prior conviction. Hutcherson finds that the former earns an average of $1,070 in
illegal income while the latter only manages $120 (Barnes, 2013). The higher
earning average after a stint behind bar is a good indicator of how prison can help
broaden criminal network and knowledge for some of these convicts.
One of the most heinous crimes in the prison system is sex offense rapist and child
molester are placed in the bottom of the prison hierarchy. Prison life for sex
offender, especially pedophiles can be hellish. Margot Bach, a spokeswoman for
California Department of Corrections said Taking [a pedophile] out would gain
[the killer] a lot more respect among the other inmates (James, 2003). The housing
situation for sex offenders can be quite precarious. Inmate housing managers
usually consult caseworkers to make an arrangement for a sex offender to stay in a
sex offender only housing unit for a purpose of treatment and education. One of the
benefits of this living arrangement is for inmate safety since sex offenders are often
subjected to ridicule, physical altercation, and sexual victimization. If the case is
severe enough to be presented in the news media, a particular inmate will be placed
in a protective custody unit so called PC up to avoid physical abuse or even death.
Chevre Research Paper
Chevre is a goat s cheese with a delicate, tart flavor that compliments many dishes.
It is commonly used in pasta dishes, usually as a filling or sauce. However, it s
creamy texture and earthy flavor give it a wide range of uses. One of the best
ways to use fresh chevre is as an appetizer. Here are five ways to use fresh chevre
as an appetizer: 1. Finger Sandwiches A common appetizer for tea parties or
brunches are finger sandwiches. Although they commonly use cream cheese or
pimento cheese as a filling, fresh chevre is a good alternative. You can pair the
cheese with cucumber slices, basil, and mint for a traditional finger sandwich. For
something with a bit more of a punch, pair the cheese with crunchy pecans. Both

The creamy texture pairs wonderfully with the crunchy bread. It can be paired with
a wide assortment of things for a fun and flavorful topping. Pair the cheese with
red peppers, olive oil, and sun dried tomatoes for a savory appetizer. You could also
pair the cheese with citrus zest, flavored oils, or whatever your heart desires. If
you want something on the sweeter side, pair it with preserves and honey. 3.
Stuffed Figs or Dates Stuffed appetizers are the perfect finger food for dinner
parties or brunches. Pair the fresh chevre with figs or dates for a sweet and savory
appetizer. Fill figs with the cheese and chopped rosemary. Wrap in prosciutto or
bacon and bake until warm. Drizzle with aged balsamic for an even bigger flavor.
If you prefer dates, simply fill them with the cheese and bake until warm. Both are
easy and tasty appetizers. 4. Baked Dip You could also use the fresh chevre to
make a warm dip for crackers. Mix the fresh chevre with cream cheese, diced
tomatoes, and basil. Bake in hot oven until warm and bubbly. Top with some olive
oil immediately before serving, and serve with any type of cracker you like. 5. Stuffed

One of the worst tragedies in American history it was know as the Triangle

A fire that broke out in a cramped sweatshop that trapped many inside and killed 146

III. PROBLEM BACKGROUND
The economic rise of China and India is arguably one of most significant
occurrence in the 21st century The rapid economic growth of BRICS countries
have uplifted millions of their citizens every year from poverty. What is the impact
on the region, given the ascendance of China and India? There are at least two
possible outcomes: the rise of the two great Asian powers may challenge the US and
instill fear among the smaller countries in Asia, or, China and India will act as new
economic dynamos that will benefit the region even if US economic presence in the
region is to decline in the future.
This article explores the opportunities and obstacles to a
harmonious region underpinned by the rise of BRICS.

William Blake s The Chimney Sweeper Essay
William Blake s The Chimney Sweeper
William Blake s The Chimney Sweeper, written in 1789, tells the story of what
happened to many young boys during this time period. Often, boys as young as
four and five were sold for the soul purpose of cleaning chimneys because of their
small size. These children were exploited and lived a meager existence that was
socially acceptable at the time. Blake voices the evils of this acceptance through point
of view, symbolism, and his startling irony.
Blake expresses his poem in first person, as a young chimney sweeper. This gives
his poetic voice creditability because the subject of the poem is chimney sweepers.
In addition, using first person creates a deeper sense of sympathy in the reader. ...

In this quote the coffins of black ; symbolize the chimneys (554). Ultimately this all
symbolizes the boys death because of their terrible life cleaning chimneys at such a
young age. In the next stanza an Angel comes And he opened the coffins and set
them all free, ; which symbolizes the boys death and escape to heaven. All of these
symbols cause feelings of sympathy in the reader, hopefully causing them to want to
help these children escape their fate.
Blake also uses startling irony in this poem. This irony shocks the reader into
realization of how terrible life is for these small boys. Some of the verbal irony
Blake uses lies in the first stanza. The poetic voice claims that [his] father sold [him]
while yet [his] tongue/ Could scarcely cry weep! weep! weep! weep! ; (554). These
words have a double meaning. They can mean that the speaker was not yet over
mourning for his mother, or they can mean that he was so young that he was not yet
able to sound out the s sound properly. In this case, he would stand on the corner
and, instead of repeating the word sweep in an attempt at getting someone to hire
him, he would repeat the word weep! ; (554). Another, more startling irony is that
these young children hoped and lived for death because only in the after life could
they become children. Blake emphasizes this with the

Abstract This is an essay over an evaluation of the video of Man in the Mirror by
the proclaimed King of Pop, Michael Jackson. The song focuses on the efforts of
an individual to improve himself and change the world. Self reflection, inner pain,
and personal improvement are well known original themes for a poem, and make a

famous for being an anthem for world change. This is notably because of the

Carl Rogers Humanistic Accomplishments
Carl Rogers humanistic beliefs and his accomplishments are what made him
prominent in the world of psychology. Carl Rogers was born and raised in Oak

For Carl s work with client centered therapy, he was awarded the first Distinguished

A person s self esteem and self actualization is constantly influenced. This
development can only be achieved through unconditional positive regard. Some
popular books that Carl has published are The Clinical Treatment of the Problem

Tess Of The D Urberville Research Paper
In Tess of the D Urbervilles, Thomas Hardy distinguishes Tess Durbeyfield as a girl
in the midst of her physical development whom society mistakes for a matured
woman and as a girl constantly remorseful over the traumas she endures. For
instance, after falling asleep while driving a carriage, it crashes resulting in the
death of her family s horse and the tainting of a white road by blood. Even though
her family does not blame her for the accident, Tessstill feels remorseful. After the

However, the blood is also a physical representation of Tess s legal guilt, since the
murder is a crime. Therefore, Hardy s emphasized juxtaposition between red and
white suggests that Tess s maturation and moment of self will culminates from her
subjection to unforeseen traumas and the guilt they instilled. In addition, white in
this scene can symbolize her innocence as the red blood stains the white ceiling;
however, her purity no longer refers to her childhood virtue, rather her she loses
her legal innocence. As a result, Hardy implies that no matter what authority Tess
has in her life, the loss of innocence is inevitable whether it be personal, societal, or
legal because it is a component of development. In Tess of the D Urbervilles, Hardy
juxtaposes red and white to create more than a dichotomy between innocence and
guilt. He begins the novel by distinguishing Tess with her red ribbon amongst a
group of girls donned solely in white, and he ends the novel by marking Tess s
moment of agency by noting a growing blood stain on a white ceiling. Both of these
moment encapsulate the dichotomy; however, his other uses of red and white
suggest guilt and innocence as societal constructs in relation
Acrisius Of Argos
King Acrisius of Argos1 had only one child, a daughter, DanaГ«. She was beautiful
above all the other women of the land, but this was small comfort to the King for
not having a son. He journeyed to Delphi2 to ask the god if there was any hope
that some day he would be the father of a boy. The priestess told him no, and added
what was far worse: that his daughter would have a son who would kill him.
The only sure way to escape that fate was for the King to have DanaГ« instantly put
to death taking no chances, but seeing to it himself. This
Acrisius would not do. His fatherly affection was not strong, as events proved, but
his fear of the gods was. They visited with terrible punishment those who shed the

Zeus in the golden rain.
As she sat there through the long days and hours with nothing to do, nothing to see
except the clouds moving by overhead, a mysterious thing happened, a shower of
gold fell from the sky and filled her chamber. How it was revealed to her that it was
Zeus who had visited her in this shape we are not told, but she knew that the child

For a time she kept his birth secret from her father, but it became increasingly
difficult to do so in the narrow limits of that bronze house and finally one day the
little boy his name was Perseus was discovered by his grandfather. Your child!
Acrisius cried in great anger. Who is his father?
But when DanaГ« answered proudly, Zeus, he would not believe her. One thing only
he was sure of, that the boy s life was a terrible danger to his own.
He was afraid to kill him for the same reason that had kept him from killing her, fear

Use of Light and Darkness in Joseph Conrad s Heart of Darkness
Joseph Conrad s Heart of Darkness contrasts light and darkness, to represent the
civilized and uncivilized sides of the world. Conrad uses light to represent the
civilized side of humanity while contrasting the dark with the uncivilized and savage.
Throughout the thematic stages of the novel, that is the Thames river London, the
company s office in Belgium, the journey to the heart of darkness and the conclusion,
light and dark is used to represent these sides of humanity, but on a deeper level many
assumptions of darkness and light are challenged, with the appearance of light and
dark, and in turn good and evil contrasting with the reality.

From the start of the novel, Conrad foreshadows Marlow journey into the heart of
darkness through the use of light and darkness. Marlow s journey to the Belgium
company s office, where he encounters two women knitting black wool. The two
women are commonly interpreted of representing two of the three fates of Ancient
Greek mythology who spun, wove and cut thread to represent the birth, lifespan
and death of mortals. This darkness used perhaps foreshadows the evil he will
encounter, something that merely fate may decide. Marlow describes the place as
the city that always makes me think of a whited supulchre , and the city of the dead
, thus, white in this instance is used to represent the exploitation of the company
and the true evil, which is hiding behind the façade of light and progress.
Therefore Conrad uses the civilized white to represent the evil of the dead city and
the search for the precious trickle of ivory .
The map in the company s office, and the light and darkness associated with it again
demonstrates and perhaps foreshadows the good and evil, and the civilized and
uncivilized side of humanity. . He describes the map as being marked with all the

Professor Faden s Video Analysis
In Professor Faden s YouTube video, he used short clips from 28 different Disney
movies. He created this video to teach students about basic copyright laws and fair
use. Disney however, thought that he was infringing on their rights as the owners of
the movies used. I believe that Professor Faden should not be considered copyright
infringement because it falls under fair use. One of the four factors used to determine
fair use is the purpose and character of the work. Faden s purpose was to enlighten
and entertain his viewers, not to remake his own Disney movie using previous
movies. All he did was make a short ten minute video using clips that were less than
45 seconds long. He gathered up the clips and transformed them into an original work.

American Ginseng Benefits
I grew up in the Blue Ridge Mountains in Virginia and went ginseng hunting a few
times as teenager. It was a rare tree then and you would spend hours walking around
the woods just to find a few trees. As the demand grew more and more people are
hunting for it and some of them do so with very little care for the future of the plant.
We used to look for the stem scars on the top of the rhizome, the wrinkles on the top
of the root as you called it, by digging around the trunk a little to see if the treewas
mature enough to harvest. Many people now dig them up and then check to see if
they are mature enough which kills the young plant. The high demand and price has
led to it being even more rare and considered a threatened species.... Show more

Qin Dynasty Legalism
There were some negative side effects of legalism. During the rule of the Qin
Dynasty, Qin Shi Huang was a tyrant that abused legalism by using his power. The
emperors in that time were chosen by Heaven and had the mandate of heaven to
support them. The mandate of heaven was meant as protection to keep the
emperors from being unjust and to help the people get to heaven, but Qin Shi
Huang used the mandate of heaven to his benefit. He knew that the people would
not fight with him because he was the key to heaven and the people needed to
appease the emperor in order to get to heaven. They feared that if they were to go
against him, they would not have a pleasant afterlife. Therefore, with nobody to
stop him, Qin Shi Huang was a tyrant that refused to allow people to think for their
own and would burn scholars books and bury them alive. He was not very wise, and
because he was cruel and angered the peasants, they revolted and cause the downfall

Does Medea Have No Sympathy For Jason Essay
Although we may sympathise with Medea s plight, Jason is worthy of nothing more

Euripides Greek tragedy, Medea follows the feud of the relationship between the
protagonist Medea, and the antagonist, her disloyal husband Jason. Although Jason s
actions are unforgiveable, his decisions to leave Medea did not authorise the actions
of revenge that Medea took to guarantee Jason s complete downfall. Medea s
situation of exile that she has been placed in is a result of her lover Jason s
decision to leave her and marry a younger female, as a result of this it helps the
reader sympathise and have remorse with Medea, but does not lead us to approve
of her actions of revenge, anger and vengeance. From a readers perspective Jason

Mechanical Reapers In The 1800s
The reaping machine commonly referred to as the mechanical reaper was invented
by Cyrus McCormick and Obed Hussey in 1833 and 1834. It followed a major
pattern for its uses in the harvesting of wheat and other small grains as well as
grasses. The invention of the mechanical reaper drastically changed the lives and
yields of grain farmers. In regards to the eventual success and large effect of the
reaping machine, the historians usually ask themselves why the machines take too
long to be accepted despite its invention in 1833. The first machines that Obed
Hussey invented were adopted in the mid 1850 s. Why wasn t a machine which could
substantially increase productivity immediately adopted? Wouldn t it have increased

The model assumes that the farmers maximized their profits, the reapers could not
be shared, the farm acre increased with time and the productivity of the acre did
not depend on the farm size . This model is made to compare two distinct
production techniques. It works from the statement that given the competitive
markets, the individual producers will choose the technique that gives
comparatively greater cost saving. It is what applied to the adoption of the
mechanical reaper. During the 1830s 1840s, farmers opted to use animals and
human hands because they engaged in small farming. The cost of purchasing the
mechanical reaper was higher than using animals and human hands. There was
also no sharing of cost among the farmers. Nevertheless, during the 1850s the
demand for labor increased as farmers started large scale farming. There was a
need for cooperative sharing of the cost of the reaper as it was expensive to use
animals for harvesting small grains. So, the only option for these farmers was to
adopt the mechanization of the reaper. Drawing from Clarke (2002), the threshold
model offers the conceptual platform for examining the cost determinant of
technological diffusion. Indeed, through the assumptions of fairness asserted by
Olmstead and Rhode, people maximize their profits through the budgetary
constraints . It is what justify and support their claim about the adoption of the
reaper. If these farmers could have adopted the reaper during the 1830s 1840s, they
could not maximize their profits because it would have increased their budget. The
cost of the machine was high, and they maximized profits independently. The best
time for the adoption of the reaper was the 1850s because the demand for labor was
high and the farmers had increased their acreage for

Comedy and Ridicule
In An Essay on the Theatre; or, A Comparison between Laughing and Sentimental
Comedy (1773), Goldsmith lays out the true purpose of dramatic comedy:
Comedy is defined by Aristotle to be a picture of the frailties of the lower part of
mankind, to distinguish it from tragedy, which is an exhibition of the misfortunes of
the great. ... If we apply to authorities, all the great masters in the dramatic art have
but one opinion. Their rule is, that as tragedy displays the calamities of the great, so
comedy should excite our laughter by ridiculously exhibiting the follies of the lower
part of mankind.
Laughing Comedy
In An Essay on the Theatre, Goldsmith argued that sentimental comedy was really a
form of bastard tragedy :
Distress, therefore, is the proper object of tragedy, since the great excite our pity by
their fall; but not equally so of comedy, since the actors employed in it are originally
so mean that they sink but little by the fall.
The actor and playwright David Garrick torn between comic and tragic muses, by Sir

A Catholic Socialist
In Dreadful Conversations: The Making of a Catholic Socialist (2003), John C. Cort
quoted Irving Babbitt saying, Rousseau abandoned his five children, one after the
other, but had, we are told, an unspeakable affection for his dog. 1 Irving Babbitt
certainly had no love loss for Jean Jacques Rousseau not only because of his
abandonment of his children but because Rousseau was the antithesis of Babbitt.
Even though both Babbitt and Rousseau offer revolutionary ideas that affected their
societies, their educational and religious philosophies differed in many ways.
On education, Babbitt and Rousseau exhibited contrasting ideas. Rousseau s views on
education centered upon human liberty in educational pursuits. However, Babbitt was
more about structure in educational pursuits. Babbitt wrote, [Bacon and thereby
Rousseau] do not have the humanist s passion for wholeness, for the harmonious
rounding out of all the faculties. 2 In contrast to Babbitt, Rousseau and Bacon
believed that one should burrow ever more and more deeply into his own specialty. 3
Babbitt continued, The scientific and sentimental naturalist are sharply at variance on
many points, but in their views on education they often coincide curiously. 4
As opposed to Bacon and Rousseau, Babbitt was the opposite of a scientific

The Qin Shi Huangdi Qin Essay
Qin Shi Huangdi, the first Qin emperor, was a proactive and ambitious emperor who
implemented a central bureaucratic system that oversaw the evolution and unification
of China at the cost of public sentiment. The Qin Dynasty is considered among the
most influential dynasties as it laid the foundation for the massive cultural and
economic development of Chinathat took place during the Han Dynasty, but it also
failed to achieve many of its pro commoner ideological goals. In fact, socioeconomic
disparity was not alleviated and despite the notion of enriching the lives of the
common people, it was under Qin rule in which public resentment of the authoritarian
government peaked as there were countless peasant revolts against the iron handed
bureaucratic rule of China. Because a paranoid emperor alone wielded political clout
and influence, the tumultuous few years of Qin reign was rife with paranoia and
suspicion among the masses. Although the Qin Dynasty is seldom thought as
possessing the same glaring discrepancy between ideology and state that the
Communist regime in post World War II China had despite the similarities, the
failure of the flawless egalitarian state models in socioeconomic and political aspects
during the Qin Dynasty mirrored the developments in early Communist China.
Among the key aspects of the Qin unification was the act of completely clearing all
local aristocracies and uniting the peasant class into a single, mobilized workforce.

And thirdly the article goes on to state: that due to the first two factors there is an
aggregate reduction of potential consumer spending by $243 billion/year. The
reduction in consumer spending reduces demand for production, and the demand for
workers to provide that production. The result of this reduced demand for labor is a
further reduction in wages. In essence the opposition believes that immigration
affects the wages of natural born citizens, or dilutes the earning capabilities.
Another report however, prepared by the Academy of Science (2004) does not

Instead Germany wanted Lenin to go to Russia and have Russia get out of the war to
help Germany. Then Germany sent Lenin on a locked train to Russia, where he
supposedly got money from Germany. This is why people thought Lenin was a
spy. Many people did not care though, the Bolsheviks did not care one bit and
neither, at this time, did the provisional government care as well. But to this day
we will never know the relationship between Lenin and the Germans. Now the
Bolsheviks were powerful and wanted very much to keep the way they set it up.
Then Lenin dies on January, 21, 1924, at exactly 6:30 pm. Now Joseph Stalin and
Leon Trotsky would have to decide who would take Lenin s place. Stalin forced
Trotsky in to exile and got rid of the threat for his power. Stalin would now be able
to mold Russia into whatever he would like. By 1928 Stalin is head of the
communist party. Lenin never wanted Stalin to get into power, calling him evil
and cold hearted. Stalin now had the power to become an absolute dictator, and he
took the opportunity at hand. Russia is now in the hands of a very terrible ruler,
Joseph Vladimir, or after he changed his name to Stalin, meaning man of steel. He
has gotten rid of the republic that was once Russia, and turned it into his country

Utopia Vision Statement
When I first began college, I knew that I wanted to major in civil engineering;
However, knowing that my major would take up all of my units after finishing the
general education classes, I knew that I could not afford to take any extra classes,
to explore and expand my own curiosity and knowledge of what is available.
Instead, I decided to invest my academic career focusing on engineering. As
freshman students began college, many students asked themselves that oh so
common and over beaten life question what is the point of college?, while others
wondered if it was it a place to explore and discover more about one s self. Well now,
thanks to Kwame Anthony Appiah, who teaches philosophy at N.Y.U. and wrote an
article What Is the Point of College?, he explains two visions which are Utility U.
and Utopia U. as well as the habits students possess at the start of college. As
students first enter the college world they go through what is known as, Utility and
/or Utopia vision; However, one vision would be stronger than the other. A Utility
vision is when you want to know if you are getting a profitable return in an
investment, while the same students are also act out the role of a consumer. Utility
U. possess certain requirements that need to be filled and will pay for expenses in
exchange for quick responses such as the desire, to be taught. Plus the fact that,
Utility U. is concerned with value, echoing the idea in the section in, Utilitarians

production, the production of Levis is spread around the globe. First, nearly 95
percent of its products are made from cotton, the cotton Levis uses is mainly grown

The Maze Runner Series Of Books
I ve been an avid reader since an early age. From grades three to about eight, I read
almost every night and I read so much that I got in trouble quite a lot for reading. I
haven t read a whole lot in the past few years because there haven t really been any
series that interested me. The Maze Runner series was really good and I read that
last year. The last good series before that was the Gone series. In addition to books,
I spent, and still do spend, a lot of time on the internet reading about topics that
interest me. I m constantly looking for new books to read. I also really liked the
Harry Potterseries of books, I read them all in the eighth grade.
I remember when I was young I read a lot of books. I kind of hit my peak with
reading at age ten through eleven. I read every night, sometimes I would read up
until midnight. I read so much that I actually got in trouble at school multiple
times for reading while class was going on. I remember a moment when the
teacher was so frustrated with me for reading while he was talking, he berated me
in front of the class. That wasn t a good experience, and I remember being really
embarrassed. I had a lot of bullying problems at the time and a few of them were in
that class, so that gave them more ammo. But that was just one time, and normally I
was just told to put the book away.
In the seventh grade, I found the Gone series of books. It was about a event in a
small town in California that sealed a opaque dome around a
Romero Movie Analysis Of The Movie
The movie Romero portrays the life of Archbishop Oscar Romero of El Salvador.
Romero (1917 1980) was assassinated because of his protests against the horrors the
government did against the people of El Salvador. I enjoyed this movie because of
the deep themes and meanings that were revealed throughout. There was no fluff in
this movie, and it boldly showed graphic images and scenes that portrayed the reality
of the situation in El Salvador. Although there were times that some of the subplots
were confusing, the overall plot of the movie was straightforward and easy to
understand. The movie begins with a priest, Father Grande, encouraging the poor
people to vote, but the voters are shot at by guerilla soldiers and the soldiers force
the people to walk through the danger. This active work of the priest is observed by
Romero who seems to disapprove of the Father Grande s disruption. At the beginning
of the movie, Romero is quiet, submissive, and does not like to disturb the waters of
thinly held peace. These traits earn him the spot of Archbishop of El Salvadorbecause
the church leaders think he will remain uninvolved in political affairs.
Despite the leaders hopes, this changes when Father Grande is killed. Romero begins
to fully realize the horrors of the government, and he starts to take a stand for the
people. He learns later that another priest was captured by the government and
tortured by the government. This indicates that the government has little respect for

Jessica is directly liable for causing the accident and has to be held to the legal
standards for her actions of reckless driving. WV Steel has will be held liable as
the employer of Jessica Smith and of ultimately approving of her trip to attend the
meeting. They will share in some of the responsibility associated with Jessica s
actions. If an agent or employee commits a tort while pursuing his or her own
interests, the tort is not within the scope of the agency or employment, and neither
the principal nor the employer would be liable. (J., amp; D., 2010) Since this was
not the case with Jessica, liability falls on both parties. There is definite impact of
this type of legal issue to small and large businesses. Company s insurance
premiums go up across the board and typically business will incur large legal fees
that need to be paid for. Additionally bad press coverage could have a negative
effect on the company s bottom line. Scenario 2 Larry Johnson crashed his four

Chevrolet, and the dealership that sold him the car stating that they are strictly liable
for his injuries. He is also claiming that all

The Consequences Of Herding Behavior Of Financial
Traders
Abstract:
This report sets out to analyze the causes and the consequences of herding behavior
of financial traders, emphasizing the impact on financial markets efficiency and
stability. Moreover, it contributes to formalize the role of policy makers, how they
react to herding behavior and what measures they can take to curtail it. This paper is
divided into three section: Section 1 introduces herding behavior; Section 2 analyzes
origin and consequences of herding and its repercussion on Efficient Market
Hypothesis theory; Section 3 focuses on the role of policy makers and what they can
do to curtail herding.

Therefore, as presented by West (1988), it is necessary to identify a behavioral
model which can highlight the importance and the impact of psychological and
irrational behaviors that can explain the latest financial crisis and asset bubbles. The
greatest support of what can be defined as Behavioral Finance comes from Shiller
(1984), who believes that financial behaviors are influenced by social movements. To
explain return patterns that are anomalous from the classical viewpoint of EMH, it is
necessary to introduce either market imperfections or failures of human rationality
(Hirshleifer et.al, 2003). Herding is one of many psychological factors and biases
that influences markets stability and can be identified as the cause of many stock
markets bubbles and crashes. Moreover herding leads to unhedgeable systemic risk
and causes markets failure to reflect all relevant information.
Section 2
Herd behavior occurs when investors, firms or analysts take the same action and/or
base their decisions according to others behaviors (Spyrou, 2013) and follow the
crowd (i.e. switching from buying to selling and reverse). It is present in a market
when individuals imitate better informed investors trading strategies rather than
acting upon their own beliefs and private information. Moreover, herding must be
distinguished from what is known as spurious herding . Spurious traders, when facing
the same problems and set
Persuasive Essay On Sugar
Maybe you are one of those many people who do not smoke, do not drink alcohol,
do not drink coffee or take medication, but at certain times of the day you are
tempted to eat anything that is sweet and delicious. If this happens to you very often,
you may be addicted to sugar. Many people realize that they are addicted to sugar
when at certain times of the day they realize that they have a craving for something
sweet and comforting that will give them some energy. As this increase in energy
diminishes in a short time, then they again want to eat something sweet until it
becomes a vicious circle.
As we live in a world that is full of sugary delights that come in striking packaging,
they are more tempting and harmless. Unfortunately, these sweets can be very
addictive and although the sugar at the beginning is not as harmful to your health as
an illegal drug, over time it can cause great damage to your body and your quality of
life.
Reasons why you should stop consuming sugar
One of the most obvious reasons is that sugar is very caloric, but not full. That s why
when we eat a Krispy Kreme we do not feel completely satisfied and then we want to
continue eating more sweet things.
Sugar inhibits the immune system, so if you regularly eat sugary foods and sweet
drinks throughout the day, then your immune system does not work properly.
Sugar causes inflammation, causes pain and can lead to diabetes , develop cancer
and heart disease.
Sugar can cause tooth decay.
Sugar reduces

9.)Some of the advantages of my solutions are: the bakery will be able to maintain
current operations with room for production expansion, moving to one larger location
would eliminate the need for two locations, the bakery can convert existing product
in to new retail market that will result in higher profit margins. Expansion will also
allow the bakery to look consider and extension of their product line.
10.) Some of the possible problems with the recommendations are: with expansion,
will the bakery be able to ensure the consistent quality that it has become known
for? Will Amy be able to properly schedule more staff and afford to properly train
new staff members? Will the higher cost of a new location make it difficult to be
able to still purchase only quality ingredients? Will a higher cost still allow Amy to
be able to offer above average salaries keeping turnover rate low? Amy Scherber
should educate herself completely on the financial aspect of the expansion, set sales
and financial projections and make sure that the cost of the investment will be worth
the return she will get on it Also she needs to make sure that the baking techniques
will stay in place, and need for trained personnel cannot change. In doing so this will
assure that she will not compromise the reputation she has made for herself the
reputation that has made expansion necessary.

Carbon Dioxide And Its Impact On Society
Everyday society evolves, new technologies and ideas are born, although life seems
perfect there are many reasons to be scared. Ever since the industrial revolution
started the production of carbon dioxide has gone up in tremendous quantities.
Because of this increase in greenhouse gases the earth has experienced drastic
changes. These changes are the reason for why humanity should be scared, humans
have control of many things but weather and natural disasters are not something we
can control. On the other hand, society has taken steps to diminish the production of
carbon dioxide, although this process may take time to make a significant impact it
provides humanity with a reason to feel like our situation will improve. It is easy to
feel good about these current efforts towards resolving climate change. However, to
make a serious impact on the problem, we need to diminish our carbon dioxide
footprint significantly, and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although, governments have taken steps towards an eco friendlier world; such

damage being done to our planet. However, according to Margo Oge, the former
director of the Office of Transportation and Air Quality of the Environmental

A Review of Adaptive Technique for Image Super resolution
Prof. S. P. Bhosale

A.I.S.S.M.S COE, Pune, India spbhosale@aisssmscoe.com ABSTRACT
Increase in resolution of image has been one driving factor in the development and
progress of the п¬Ѓelds related to the capture, processing and display of digital
images and video. Number of authors has carried out research on various
techniques on super resolution algorithms which are classified into two basic
categories: single frame super resolution and the more common multi frame super
resolution . Single frame super resolution is a very ill posed problem due to the lack
of any new additional information. Multi frame Super resolution on the other hand
presents more information in the form of Low Resolution (LR) frames that are
displaced from each other making it a more tractable problem. A related problem to
super Resolution (SR) techniques is image restoration, which is well established area
in image processing application. An other problem related to SR reconstruction is
image interpolation that has been used to increase the size of a single image.

Adaptive technique, super resolution technique, frequency domain method.

Who Is The Manipulation Of Power In The Book 1984 By...
In the book, 1984, written by George Orwell, tells his story of the dictatorial party of
Airstrip One, That tries to maintain their everlasting power by the manipulation and
mind control of personal thought, individuality, opinion, and the whole timeline of
history itself. With these set goals they have brainwashed the penniless population of
Oceania into believing that their lives revolve around Big Brother and they are
taught to love and surrender everything to him. Big Brother and the party have
discovered a way to manipulate the people s language and opinions by the language
of, Newspeak, with this, the party was able to destroy the forbidden words that
creates one s mind to develop personal thought and feelings. In the book, Syme,
Winston s acquaintance talks about the manipulation of language, [...] the whole aim
of Newspeak is to narrow the range of thought? [...] we shall make thoughtcrime
literally impossible, because there will be no words in which to express it (Orwell

any possibility of revolt against them. Another way The Party had manipulated people

Obstacle Essay.pdf

  • 1. Obstacle Essay Crafting an essay on the theme of obstacles presents a unique set of challenges that can test the mettle of even the most seasoned writers. The very nature of the topic demands a delicate balance between introspection and objectivity, as one delves into personal experiences while maintaining a broader perspective. Firstly, the task requires a profound level of self-reflection. Unearthing one's obstacles involves revisiting moments of struggle, vulnerability, and perhaps even failure. This process can be emotionally taxing, demanding an honest confrontation with one's weaknesses and setbacks. The writer must navigate the fine line between authenticity and discretion, choosing which aspects of their journey to share without oversharing or veering into the realm of self-pity. Moreover, weaving a compelling narrative around obstacles necessitates a keen awareness of the broader context. It requires the writer to connect personal challenges with universal themes, making the essay relatable to a diverse audience. This demands not only a deep understanding of one's own experiences but also the ability to distill the essence of those experiences into a narrative that resonates with others. Structurally, organizing an obstacle essay poses its own set of hurdles. Achieving a coherent flow while juggling the chronological or thematic presentation of obstacles can be tricky. Writers must carefully select which events to highlight, ensuring that the narrative remains focused and purposeful. Balancing the emotional weight of the challenges with the need for a clear and concise exposition adds another layer of complexity. In addition to the emotional and structural challenges, there's the task of infusing the essay with a sense of growth and resilience. A successful obstacle essay not only recounts difficulties but also emphasizes the lessons learned and personal evolution. This requires the writer to articulate not just the obstacles themselves, but the transformative journey that ensued, all while avoiding clichГ©s and platitudes. In conclusion, tackling an obstacle essay involves a multifaceted process that demands emotional honesty, narrative finesse, and the ability to draw meaningful connections between personal experiences and universal truths. It is an intricate dance between introspection and communication, making it a formidable task for any writer. For those seeking assistance or looking to explore similar themes in their writing, a variety of resources are available. Professional writing services, such asHelpWriting.net, offer the opportunity to commission essays and delve into a wealth of topics, allowing individuals to navigate the complexities of personal storytelling with support and expertise. • 2. A Study On The Children Hi Families, It is almost the end of the year and the students have accomplished so much. I am fortunate enough to witness exploration and creativity every day with your children. The growth I ve seen so far is remarkable! Shy little ones who barely spoke back in September are now approaching me and telling me all about their weekend and their best play date party EVER! It has been an exciting month in the rainforest! Measurements are all around us and the children have been measuring up to everything in the classroom. Every day the children have been experimenting with real objects to gain understanding measurement concepts. To begin this week s lesson, the children measure and compare the circumference of objects, they measure the distance objects travel, and they explored the concept of volume by measuring how much of a certain material fits into a different container. Below are some of the activities we have done this week. The children learned that different objects can have the same or different circumference. We started the lesson by talking about previous measuring activities we did in our Living Things in the Neighborhood theme. We talked about the activity we did on measuring trees and I asked the children to recall what we did when we measured the circumference of the trees. Some of the children remembered the activity and commented that we used a measuring tape to measure the tree. They did not remember the meaning of the word circumference, so I
  • 3. Simon Farrah Abraham Character Analysis Simon Saran is a forced to be reckoned with. His on again off again relationship with Farrah Abraham has been documented through Teen Mom OG. The two are apparently off at the moment, though that doesn t mean there isn t a reconciliation possible. Because Saran has been a huge part of the MTV franchise, the show offered him his own special. This is a big deal because the ones who have been offered the same have all been married to or have had children with the star they were attached to while filming. Being Simon is set to air this coming Wednesday on MTV. It will be an hour long special featuring Simon Saran in his everyday life. He confirmed this was coming back in June, but Farrah Abraham shaded him when he mentioned it. The two have been hot and cold for several months now. Saran is a businessman, and now, Abraham is back to selling sex.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... According to Starcasm, Simon Saran and Courtland Rogers got into an insult match where one went a little too far. Everyone knows that Twitter is the place where anything goes. Racial comments, insults, and everything else can be seen on the platform with no enforcing of etiquette. Saran was going off about Donald Trump being blamed for the Las Vegas massacre, and Rogers decided to have his say with him. It appears that since Jenelle Evans no longer wants anything to do with Courtland, he is really trying to stay relevant. Both men reverted to heavy insults, with Courtland Rogers insinuating that Simon Saran was a terrorist with a tweet about hijacking a plane. Of course, Simon wasn t innocent in the debate, but Courtland really went the whole nine yards with his comments. There is a streak of jealousy there. Being Simon is airing this upcoming week and since Rogers no longer has any connection to the show, there may be a little bitterness. The two exchanged a few more tweets and that was
  • 4. Prince Albert V Strange Case Study Warren and Brandeis inferred bolster for this conclusion from the case of Prince Albert v. Strange, I McN. G. 25 (1849): Ruler Victoria and Sovereign Albert made representations of family and different thing that is being discussed and had them transformed into etchings to be given to loved ones. In 1849 Interesting distributed an index of the private etchings done by Sovereign Albert and Ruler Victoria; he had gotten the etchings from a light fingered printer. Albert sued Bizarre to charge the exhibition of the pictures and the publication of a descriptive index, asserting the etchings were private, and not distributed to the world. The court concurred with the Sovereign. As per them, copyright is not a tool that only employs to protect privacy and very soon courts identify this and implying as a term in a contract and finding a breach of trust into privacy. English court takes the same similar steps towards in Abernethy v. Hutchinson a case. In this case, Abernethy known specialist tried to order his restorative understudies from distributing an arrangement of addresses conveyed in his classroom. Because every lecture was as orally, and it had not committed them to writing, the court regret to enjoin the students planned publication of copyright remedies and the court order that student makes a violation of confidence of his teacher. In the court s view, they were permitted to only attend the lecture only for the purposes of their own information, and could not
  • 5. Perceived Susceptibility Of Being Attacked By Malicious... However, the studies reveal inconsistent results as to whether both constructs always determine security behavior (Liang Xue, 2010). Woon et al. (2005) indicate that perceived severity determines whether individuals take security measures to protect their home wireless network security. Ng et al. (2009) reveal that perceived susceptibility impacts users securitybehavior to protect their emails, while Workman et al. (2008) show that both perceived susceptibility and perceived threats determined user IT behavior. Hence, information security collaboration can assist in distribution and sharing of information security knowledge among users, as highlighted by Ahmad, Hadgkiss, and Ruighaver (2012). Similarly, Feledi, Fenz, Lechner, (2013) indicated that collaboration can be applied in the form of submitting, commenting on, and peer reviewing the knowledge shared, while Mace, Parkin, and Moorsel (2010) suggested that collaboration is a key benefit for identifying features to assess information security threats also that collaboration can create valuable knowledge in information security domain as it assist users to understand and extend their information about security breaches. Bernard (2007) found that information security collaboration decreases the cost of gaining security knowledge
  • 6. Fibromyalgia Pain Case Study Chief Complaint Fibromuscular dysplasia. History The patient is a 59 year old right handed white female who was admitted in June to Portsmouth Regional Hospital for what was determined to be either transient global amnesia or complicated migraine. I did review those notes. She was seen by Galina Simkin, MD. The symptomatology discussed in the H P is consistent with transient global amnesia. She was having problems asking questions inappropriately, repeating sentences, repeating questions over and over again, and seeming somewhat confused. There were no other neurological symptoms at that time. No evidence for seizure activity. No evidence for stroke. She was brought to the emergency room, where she underwent a CAT scan, which was... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I do not think that this was the etiology for the spell that she presented for in June. I think that was a transient global amnesia, which resulted in the discovery of the fibromuscular dysplasia. Currently, she does not have any evidence for large vessel TIAs or strokes to suggest that the fibromuscular dysplasia of the internal carotid arteries is symptomatic. She does have small vessel ischemic disease and does have a history of high blood pressure. She was not on a baby aspirin a day. She is currently on a baby aspirin a day. Antiplatelet medication is the treatment of choice for fibromuscular dysplasia in the absence of severe stenosis or frank aneurysm. Plan She does have a history of hypertension, so I am going to send her to Michael Danielski, MD to evaluate her for the possibility of fibromuscular dysplasia of the renal arteries. If he decides to do an angiogram of the renal arteries, than I would like to also add an angiogram of the carotid arteries to get a good view of the amount of stenosis. Alternately, I could get carotid ultrasound and follow any progression of stenosis that way. The course of further neurological workup will depend on what Dr. Danielski wants to do in evaluating her renal
  • 7. How Does George Orwell Use Speech In 1984 One fundamental aspect to consider when it comes to writing novels is the way an author presents speeches and thoughts. This is a vital element to analyse with the purpose of investigating what effect they leave on the novel itself. With this essay, I shall be dealing with four parts of George Orwell s Nineteen Eighty Four in chronological order, dealing with six types of speech and thought presentations that Geoffrey Leech and Mick Short introduced. The six types shall be split into three speech presentations while the other three shall be thought presentations. The parts to be analysed are located in the appendix. Aim There are two main aims I want to present in this essay. Firstly, I shall analyse the novel parts to see how George Orwell utilizes the speech and thought presentation framework in order to create an effect on the book. Secondly, I shall discuss what effect it leaves on the book, that is, why George ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is important to note that although Winston is discussing some new information with Julia, he is not telling the reader any new information. Framework This type of speech is described as narrative report of speech act. This is due to the fact that the narrator does not commit entirely to what was said in the speech (Leech Short, 2013, p. 259). Instead, the narrator opts to generalise what was said as there is minimal account of what Winston talked about (Simpson, 1993, p.21). In this case, the narrator appears in full control of the speech act. Author s aim Orwell utilizes this type of speech act so to not prolong lengthy speeches on subjects which have either already been told to the reader or are trivial to the main plot. Thus, the narrator takes over to create a smoother flow and to keep the reader interested with new information instead of repeating. [3] Direct speech
  • 8. The Splatterhouse Video Before watching the clips, I was feeling content. I was not frustrated with anything or anyone, I was calm and I just watched a few funny videos, which brought my mood up even more. During the first video, immediately, my thoughts were about the quality of the animation and the story line. As for the violence, I didn t like looking at it. I tried to turn away a few times. I think that there was an excessive amount of gore that could have been easily cut out, but it wasn t, because the viewers or the gamers like it. The second video was a lot worse in my opinion. The Splatterhouse video had some sort of story line beside the gore, but this video only showed a first point view of a person killing people in many different ways. Because of the quality of the video, I didn t actually see anything too graphic, but just the idea of people enjoying this game made me a little scared for our society. During the third video, I thought about how believable the scenes were. The lighting ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Gore and violence doesn t interest me and I actually turn away from the screen any time there s a graphic scene in a movie, which explains why these clips didn t have any effect on me. The only clip that slightly interested me was Saw. I thought that the story line was interesting, but I still wouldn t watch the actual movie, because of the violent scenes that I would have to watch. Though I had almost no interest in these videos and found most of the scenes repulsive, I caught myself on the thought that by the time I was watching the fourth video, I got used to the violence portrayed in these videos. If the first video made me want to turn away from the screen, the last video had no effect on me at all. I believe that this explains the mere exposure theory. The only thing I did was sit and watch a few clips, but the effect was that I became immune to the violence for at least some
  • 9. Compare And Contrast Coal And Solar Energy For many years, energy has been a need for people everywhere. What has become of the world today is due to the revolution in energy use. There are two types of energy non renewables and sources renewables. An example of a non renewable is coal and it is a great type of fossil fuel the reason being is because it is a reliable source of electricity. Examples of renewables are wind, water and solar power. Renewables can be recovered and reused while on another hand a non renewables can not be used again. Coalhas been used for thousands of years archaeologists discovered that coal was used even in the second and third centuries by the Romans. Solar power is a renewable source since it s powered by the sun. It can be changed into other forms for example both heat and electricity can come directly from the sun. The sun s power has been used for a lifetime to heat up our homes, water (to drink and bathe), and our food as well. Both energy sources coal and solar are quite reliable resources, and are used very much. As worldwide energy sources, coal and solar power share similarities and differences when it comes to having a huge impact on the environment the world s economic status within how much money we profit from them and human health such as increased lung cancer rates. During the time that humans have been living on earth the environment has evolved especially the way we have treated it. Now that we have found a large variation of energy sources we have effected it even more.

The United States, however, houses more than 20% of the world inmate population. From 1978 to 2014, there has been a sharp increase of the inmate population to the tune of over 400% an alarming number that is not likely to decrease anytime soon (ACLU, n.d.). The United States government has placed tougher sanctions and punishments on criminals since the late 1970s, which has led to this massive growth in prisonpopulation, but are these harsh methods effective? Instead of a place for rehabilitation, prison is a breeding ground for criminal enterprises. Serious issues such as sexual assault, drugs abuse,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Donald Hutcherson, an Ohio sociologist put this into a financial prospective in one of his researches by comparing illegal earnings of ex convicts and those without prior conviction. Hutcherson finds that the former earns an average of $1,070 in illegal income while the latter only manages $120 (Barnes, 2013). The higher earning average after a stint behind bar is a good indicator of how prison can help broaden criminal network and knowledge for some of these convicts. One of the most heinous crimes in the prison system is sex offense rapist and child molester are placed in the bottom of the prison hierarchy. Prison life for sex offender, especially pedophiles can be hellish. Margot Bach, a spokeswoman for California Department of Corrections said Taking [a pedophile] out would gain [the killer] a lot more respect among the other inmates (James, 2003). The housing situation for sex offenders can be quite precarious. Inmate housing managers usually consult caseworkers to make an arrangement for a sex offender to stay in a sex offender only housing unit for a purpose of treatment and education. One of the benefits of this living arrangement is for inmate safety since sex offenders are often subjected to ridicule, physical altercation, and sexual victimization. If the case is severe enough to be presented in the news media, a particular inmate will be placed in a protective custody unit so called PC up to avoid physical abuse or even death.

However, it s creamy texture and earthy flavor give it a wide range of uses. One of the best ways to use fresh chevre is as an appetizer. Here are five ways to use fresh chevre as an appetizer: 1. Finger Sandwiches A common appetizer for tea parties or brunches are finger sandwiches. Although they commonly use cream cheese or pimento cheese as a filling, fresh chevre is a good alternative. William Blake s The Chimney Sweeper Essay William Blake s The Chimney Sweeper William Blake s The Chimney Sweeper, written in 1789, tells the story of what happened to many young boys during this time period. Often, boys as young as four and five were sold for the soul purpose of cleaning chimneys because of their small size. These children were exploited and lived a meager existence that was socially acceptable at the time. Blake voices the evils of this acceptance through point of view, symbolism, and his startling irony. Blake expresses his poem in first person, as a young chimney sweeper. This gives his poetic voice creditability because the subject of the poem is chimney sweepers. In addition, using first person creates a deeper sense of sympathy in the reader. ... All of these symbols cause feelings of sympathy in the reader, hopefully causing them to want to help these children escape their fate. Blake also uses startling irony in this poem. This irony shocks the reader into realization of how terrible life is for these small boys. Some of the verbal irony Blake uses lies in the first stanza. The poetic voice claims that [his] father sold [him] while yet [his] tongue/ Could scarcely cry weep! weep! weep! weep! ; (554). These words have a double meaning. They can mean that the speaker was not yet over mourning for his mother, or they can mean that he was so young that he was not yet able to sound out the s sound properly. In this case, he would stand on the corner and, instead of repeating the word sweep in an attempt at getting someone to hire him, he would repeat the word weep! ; (554). Another, more startling irony is that these young children hoped and lived for death because only in the after life could they become children. Blake emphasizes this with the

Tess Of The D Urberville Research Paper In Tess of the D Urbervilles, Thomas Hardy distinguishes Tess Durbeyfield as a girl in the midst of her physical development whom society mistakes for a matured woman and as a girl constantly remorseful over the traumas she endures. For instance, after falling asleep while driving a carriage, it crashes resulting in the death of her family s horse and the tainting of a white road by blood. Even though her family does not blame her for the accident, Tessstill feels remorseful. In both of these instances, Tess lacks agency. Finally,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, the blood is also a physical representation of Tess s legal guilt, since the murder is a crime. Therefore, Hardy s emphasized juxtaposition between red and white suggests that Tess s maturation and moment of self will culminates from her subjection to unforeseen traumas and the guilt they instilled. In addition, white in this scene can symbolize her innocence as the red blood stains the white ceiling; however, her purity no longer refers to her childhood virtue, rather her she loses her legal innocence. As a result, Hardy implies that no matter what authority Tess has in her life, the loss of innocence is inevitable whether it be personal, societal, or legal because it is a component of development. In Tess of the D Urbervilles, Hardy juxtaposes red and white to create more than a dichotomy between innocence and guilt. He begins the novel by distinguishing Tess with her red ribbon amongst a group of girls donned solely in white, and he ends the novel by marking Tess s moment of agency by noting a growing blood stain on a white ceiling. Both of these moment encapsulate the dichotomy; however, his other uses of red and white suggest guilt and innocence as societal constructs in relation

The model assumes that the farmers maximized their profits, the reapers could not be shared, the farm acre increased with time and the productivity of the acre did not depend on the farm size . This model is made to compare two distinct production techniques. It works from the statement that given the competitive markets, the individual producers will choose the technique that gives comparatively greater cost saving. It is what applied to the adoption of the mechanical reaper. During the 1830s 1840s, farmers opted to use animals and human hands because they engaged in small farming. The cost of purchasing the mechanical reaper was higher than using animals and human hands. There was also no sharing of cost among the farmers. Nevertheless, during the 1850s the demand for labor increased as farmers started large scale farming. There was a need for cooperative sharing of the cost of the reaper as it was expensive to use animals for harvesting small grains. So, the only option for these farmers was to adopt the mechanization of the reaper. Drawing from Clarke (2002), the threshold model offers the conceptual platform for examining the cost determinant of technological diffusion. Indeed, through the assumptions of fairness asserted by Olmstead and Rhode, people maximize their profits through the budgetary constraints . It is what justify and support their claim about the adoption of the reaper. If these farmers could have adopted the reaper during the 1830s 1840s, they could not maximize their profits because it would have increased their budget. The cost of the machine was high, and they maximized profits independently. Cort quoted Irving Babbitt saying, Rousseau abandoned his five children, one after the other, but had, we are told, an unspeakable affection for his dog. 1 Irving Babbitt certainly had no love loss for Jean Jacques Rousseau not only because of his abandonment of his children but because Rousseau was the antithesis of Babbitt. Even though both Babbitt and Rousseau offer revolutionary ideas that affected their societies, their educational and religious philosophies differed in many ways. On education, Babbitt and Rousseau exhibited contrasting ideas. Rousseau s views on education centered upon human liberty in educational pursuits. However, Babbitt was more about structure in educational pursuits. Babbitt wrote, [Bacon and thereby Rousseau] do not have the humanist s passion for wholeness, for the harmonious rounding out of all the faculties. 2 In contrast to Babbitt, Rousseau and Bacon believed that one should burrow ever more and more deeply into his own specialty. 3 Babbitt continued, The scientific and sentimental naturalist are sharply at variance on many points, but in their views on education they often coincide curiously. 4 As opposed to Bacon and Rousseau, Babbitt was the opposite of a scientific /sentimental naturalist. Babbitt believed in the value of a classical education and the foundation that came through those offerings. He wrote, Classical literature, at its best, does not so
  • 34. The Qin Shi Huangdi Qin Essay Qin Shi Huangdi, the first Qin emperor, was a proactive and ambitious emperor who implemented a central bureaucratic system that oversaw the evolution and unification of China at the cost of public sentiment. The Qin Dynasty is considered among the most influential dynasties as it laid the foundation for the massive cultural and economic development of Chinathat took place during the Han Dynasty, but it also failed to achieve many of its pro commoner ideological goals. In fact, socioeconomic disparity was not alleviated and despite the notion of enriching the lives of the common people, it was under Qin rule in which public resentment of the authoritarian government peaked as there were countless peasant revolts against the iron handed bureaucratic rule of China. Because a paranoid emperor alone wielded political clout and influence, the tumultuous few years of Qin reign was rife with paranoia and suspicion among the masses. Although the Qin Dynasty is seldom thought as possessing the same glaring discrepancy between ideology and state that the Communist regime in post World War II China had despite the similarities, the failure of the flawless egalitarian state models in socioeconomic and political aspects during the Qin Dynasty mirrored the developments in early Communist China. Among the key aspects of the Qin unification was the act of completely clearing all local aristocracies and uniting the peasant class into a single, mobilized workforce. Ideally, the Qin

And thirdly the article goes on to state: that due to the first two factors there is an aggregate reduction of potential consumer spending by $243 billion/year. The reduction in consumer spending reduces demand for production, and the demand for workers to provide that production. The result of this reduced demand for labor is a further reduction in wages. In essence the opposition believes that immigration affects the wages of natural born citizens, or dilutes the earning capabilities. Another report however, prepared by the Academy of Science (2004) does not support the idea that immigration affects the wages of native workers adversely. The study only outlines a weak relationship between immigrant wages and native wages. The most significant impact to wages appears to be from wave to wave of immigrants, the earlier waves seem to endure impact from more recent waves. The report done then by the Academy of Science also indicates that evidence points to the conclusion that there is only a small if any adverse impact of immigration on the wage and employment opportunities of competing native groups. According to Longley (2005) Due to California s need and use of immigrant workers there is a huge cost associated to the support of immigrants which includes incarceration and healthcare. There was no fluff in this movie, and it boldly showed graphic images and scenes that portrayed the reality of the situation in El Salvador. Although there were times that some of the subplots were confusing, the overall plot of the movie was straightforward and easy to understand. The movie begins with a priest, Father Grande, encouraging the poor people to vote, but the voters are shot at by guerilla soldiers and the soldiers force the people to walk through the danger. This active work of the priest is observed by Romero who seems to disapprove of the Father Grande s disruption. At the beginning of the movie, Romero is quiet, submissive, and does not like to disturb the waters of thinly held peace. These traits earn him the spot of Archbishop of El Salvadorbecause the church leaders think he will remain uninvolved in political affairs. Despite the leaders hopes, this changes when Father Grande is killed. Romero begins to fully realize the horrors of the government, and he starts to take a stand for the people. He learns later that another priest was captured by the government and tortured by the government. This indicates that the government has little respect for the

Bhosale Assistant Professor , Department of electronics, A.I.S.S.M.S COE, Pune, India spbhosale@aisssmscoe.com ABSTRACT Increase in resolution of image has been one driving factor in the development and progress of the п¬Ѓelds related to the capture, processing and display of digital images and video. Number of authors has carried out research on various techniques on super resolution algorithms which are classified into two basic categories: single frame super resolution and the more common multi frame super resolution . Single frame super resolution is a very ill posed problem due to the lack of any new additional information. Multi frame Super resolution on the other hand presents more information in the form of Low Resolution (LR) frames that are displaced from each other making it a more tractable problem. A related problem to super Resolution (SR) techniques is image restoration, which is well established area in image processing application. An other problem related to SR reconstruction is image interpolation that has been used to increase the size of a single image. Keywords Adaptive technique, super resolution technique, frequency domain method. 1.INTRODUCTION A demand for higher resolution is seen in many discipline including bio medical imaging, satellite and astronomical imaging, chemical and military surveillance and remote sensing. But the current state of image sensor

Assignment 2 Database Management Systems Assignment 2 Database Management Systems General Database Concepts 1.Describe the types of facility you would expect to be provided in a multi user DBMS. Data Storage, Retrieval and Update. A User Accessible Catalog. Transaction Support. Concurrency Control Services. Recovery Services. Authorization Services. Support for Data Communication. Integrity Services. Services to Promote Data Independence. Utility Services. 2.Discuss the differences between DDL and DML? What operations would you typically expect to be available in each language? Data Definition Language (DDL) statements are used to define the database design or schema while Data Manipulation Language (DML) statements are used to manage data with Schema objects. In DDL, we have operations like CREATE: To create objects in database. ALTER: Alter the structure of the database. DROP: Delete objects from database. TRUNCATE: Removing all records from the table. COMMENT: Add comments to the data dictionary. RENAME: rename the object. In DML, we have operations like SELECT: Retrieve data from the database. INSERT: Insert data into the table. UPDATE: Updates existing table. DELETE: Deletes all the records from the table, the space for the record remain. MERGE: UPSERT operation (insert or update) CALL: Call a PL/SQL or java program. 3.Name four object based data models. Object and Object identifier Attributes and methods Class

With our society being so immersed in the social media world we practically believe majority of the news we see online. But, in reality the articles and information we see are most of the time biased or tweaked to the point where we see what we want to hear and not the actual
