•Nanotechnology is the study of manipulating
matter on an atomic scale.
•Nanotechnology refers to the constructing and
engineering of the functional systems at very
micro level or we can say at atomic level.
NANOTECHNOLOGY
Nanotechnology in Electronics
 Nano electronics refer to the use of nanotechnology on
electronic components, especially transistors.
 Nano electronics often refer to transistor devices that
are so small that interatomic interactions and quantum
mechanical properties need to be studied extensively.
 Besides being small and allowing more transistors to be
packed into a single chip, the uniform and symmetrical
structure of nanotubes allows a higher electron mobility,
a higher dielectric constant (faster frequency), and a
symmetrical electron/ hole characteristic.

Nanolithography is used for fabrication of chips.
Reducing the size of transistors used in integrated
circuits.

Moore’s Law describes a trend of
technology. It states that the number of
transistors that can be put on a single chip
will double every two years.

speed of computers has increased
while the price of computing has
decreased .

or plastic sheet allow
manufacturers to make clear
conductive panels for displays
that are extremely thin.

•These are small macromolecules that are unique for
their size, shape, and have unique physical properties.
Nano tubes have some special advantages over other
drug delivery and diagnostic systems due to their
unique physical properties.

Metallic Nano particles
• Metallic Nano particles have used in drug delivery,
especially in treatment of cancer and also in
biosensors .
• Amongst various metals, silver and gold Nano
particles are of prime importance for biomedical
use.

Carbon Nano tubes Metallic Nano particles

• These have been extensively explored and most developed
Nano carriers for novel and targeted drug delivery due to their
small size, these are 50-200 nm in size.
• When dry phospholipids are hydrated, closed vesicles are
formed.
• Liposomes are biocompatible, versatile and have good
entrapment efficiency. It finds application as long circulatory and
in passive and active delivery of gene, protein and peptide.

• Cancer is an uncontrolled division/proliferation of
cells.
• The 10 to 100 nm small size of nanoparticles, allows
them to preferentially accumulate at tumor sites.

• Nano wires are used to prepare sensor test chips,
which can detect proteins and other biomarkers left
behind by cancer cells.
• Nano shells of 120 nm diameter, coated with gold were
used to kill cancer tumors in mice.
• Cadmium selenide Nano particles in the form of
quantum dots are used in detection of cancer tumors
because when exposed to ultraviolet light, they glow.

  • 4. 4 •Nanotechnology is the study of manipulating matter on an atomic scale. •Nanotechnology refers to the constructing and engineering of the functional systems at very micro level or we can say at atomic level. NANOTECHNOLOGY

Nanotechnology in Electronics  Nano electronics refer to the use of nanotechnology on electronic components, especially transistors.  Nano electronics often refer to transistor devices that are so small that interatomic interactions and quantum mechanical properties need to be studied extensively.  Besides being small and allowing more transistors to be packed into a single chip, the uniform and symmetrical structure of nanotubes allows a higher electron mobility, a higher dielectric constant (faster frequency), and a symmetrical electron/ hole characteristic. 5

  • 7. 7 Common Applications of Nano Technology Computer processing Moore’s Law describes a trend of technology. It states that the number of transistors that can be put on a single chip will double every two years.

  • 11. 11 Carbon Nano tubes •These are small macromolecules that are unique for their size, shape, and have unique physical properties. Nano tubes have some special advantages over other drug delivery and diagnostic systems due to their unique physical properties. Pharmaceutical Nano systems
  • 12. 12 Metallic Nano particles • Metallic Nano particles have used in drug delivery, especially in treatment of cancer and also in biosensors . • Amongst various metals, silver and gold Nano particles are of prime importance for biomedical use.

  • 14. 14 • These have been extensively explored and most developed Nano carriers for novel and targeted drug delivery due to their small size, these are 50-200 nm in size. • When dry phospholipids are hydrated, closed vesicles are formed. • Liposomes are biocompatible, versatile and have good entrapment efficiency. It finds application as long circulatory and in passive and active delivery of gene, protein and peptide. Liposomes:

  • 17. 17 • Nano wires are used to prepare sensor test chips, which can detect proteins and other biomarkers left behind by cancer cells. • Nano shells of 120 nm diameter, coated with gold were used to kill cancer tumors in mice. • Cadmium selenide Nano particles in the form of quantum dots are used in detection of cancer tumors because when exposed to ultraviolet light, they glow.
