mixture with a known composition using a technique called fractional distillation. In order to do so, a
liquid mixture is separated into three fractions in the first distillation; then, one of the fractions
produced is redistilled to increase the purity of the liquid. Since two rounds of distillation occur, the
process is termed fractional distillation. Additionally, it is crucial for students to understand the
principles of gas chromatography so the purity and percent composition of each fraction can be
determined.

days, many would overlook its actual significance and the trouble it causes for millions across the

The article s authors counter the Choice Model, explaining that a person cannot choose whether to be
addicted or not. They outline the path leading to addiction by emphasizing the cause as a physical
malfunction in the reward circuitry of the brain. They claim that an addict s abnormalities in his or her
reward system causes the addict to achieve the state of euphoria or high by ingesting substances or
addictive behaviors. In addition, one s compulsive behaviors and substance abuse can hurt the reward
system and result in impaired impulse control and addiction (Matesa and Bickman), so it is a
deleterious cycle. Lastly, the article espouses that the Choice Model is in some way blaming the

Justice Is Not A True Form Of Justice
With the world being covered with injustice and cruelty, we must decide what being just actually
means. The question of what is justice is a question that has spanned the ages. However, we have
begun to form an outline to what we believe may or what may not be a correct form of justice .
Aquinas attempts to rhetorically show us what the truest form of justice is. Aquinas takes into account
many different factors asking what justice is and whether justice is always toward another, to name a
few examples. I will attempt to use the writings put forth by Aquinas to prove whether the judicial
system within Ferguson, Missouri is being completely just or if the justice being dealt for the police
officer is not a true form of justice.
On Monday, November 17, 2014 there was an article within the New York Times written by John
Eligon, Julie Bosman, and Monica Davey titled In Ferguson, Tactics Are Set for Grand Jury Decision
in the Brown Case. This controversial case is in move because of a debatably overpowering shooting
of an eighteen year old boy. However, this shooting was done by an officer of the law. We must decide
what is just within this very extreme case that is being tried. On one hand we see that an unarmed
eighteen year old boy was shot and killed in the middle of the street on that dreadful August 9th.
