Effects Of Economics On Political Change
The findings of this study leads to puzzling discoveries. Moving forward, researchers should look at
effects of economics on political change in the South at a local level as well as at the state level. While
the findings suggest a decline in agriculture affected party strength, the more general question about
economic change affecting party strength/partisanship needs further exploration. There were more
economic changes occurring in the South besides agricultural decline. The South also experienced
increases in its manufacturing, government and services sectors during the time under study. Under
the current hypothesis as a community becomes less agricultural, people most people made more
money and became more susceptible economic ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A mixed methods approach seems on the outset to be most appropriate for this future research,
because it allows for interviews with local party leaders to guide the statistical analyses. Also, most
people consider themselves citizens of a community more than they consider themselves citizens of a
state. Thus, individuals should be better able to notice the economic change on a community level
instead of a state level. The closest data that is publically available for community data is at the county
or municipal level. One particular problem with doing research at the county level is that not all data
one would want is available at that level. Missing data was a particularly troublesome problem for the
present analysis but there are some possibilities to provide a statistical fix to that problem. Some of
these issues may be solved using multilevel modeling to generate point estimates from large national
polls, however, a statistical fix does not cure the absence of data. One of the interesting findings of
this project concerned the effects of turnout on changes in party strength. There seem to be several
ways forward here. One can expand the study and see if changes in turnout also drove changes outside
of the South. This seems unlikely, however, because the South had such anemic turnout at the start of
the period under study while the rest of the nation did not. There are other ways to address this as
well. For example, I could look at cohorts of first time voters

New Testament Chapter 13
Summary of An Introduction to the New Testament Chapter One Thinking About The Study of the
New Testament The authors of the textbook intend chapter one to be a baseline or at least a starting
point for scholars that are possibly studying the New Testament for the first time. The stated aim of the
chapter is to provide enough of a framework to make the rest of this textbook, and a lot of other books
on the New Testament, a little easier to understand. (23) Highlighted in the chapter are some of the
more common criticisms used by scholars today (e.g., form criticism, redaction criticism, textual
criticism, and historical criticism, just to name a few), along with some of the key figures throughout
history that have utilized such criticisms to help shape scholarly study of the New Testament canon.

Carson and Moo make the reader aware of the authorship dispute regarding Ephesians. They point to
seven arguments that support the traditional view that Paul wrote it. Likewise, they then draw
attention to five argument used by modern scholars to deny Pauline authorship. After the controversies
surrounding authorship are covered Carson and Moo move on to another controversy. The section
tiled Destination is where it is found. Modern scholars argue several theories as to where Paul or
whoever they claim the author to be, may have written the letter for. Once claim that has gained
traction over the years is that the letter was meant to be a circular letter a letter circulated among
churches. Another claim is that the letter was intended for the Laodiceans, as Marcion thought. Even
still, another theory suggests the letter was written as an introduction to all the other letters Paul wrote.
After the destination controversy is discussed Carson and Moo close the chapter with a brief
discussion regarding Ephesians contribution to

Rothschilds Fiddle
Jackson Weeks Harold English 101 1 31 13 Chekhov s Use of Futliarnost to Develop Yakov and the
Importance of Morals in Rothschild s Fiddle Futliarnost, a Russian literature theme which is often
present in Anton Chekhov s short stories, is when a character is encased in a situation and can not
escape. In Rothschild s Fiddle , Yakov is entrapped in an almost trance like state, that is brought about
by loss and remorse in his life. Is Yakov ever released from this state, through Marfa s death, or any
other instance and does Chekhov intend for the reader to see one single moral in this story? Chekhov
uses irony and ambiguity to develop Yakov Rothschild s Fiddle into a deeper character as well.
Chekhov uses one particular irony ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Perhaps she was just rosy from the fever, or more likely just relieved that she was finally going to be
released from her dreary life of being frightened by Yakov, mistreated, and not appreciated. Even
though Marfa only has a small presence in the text, she is a great tool for Chekhov. She is used to
bring up Yakov s past. Marfa says Do you remember fifty years ago God gave us a little baby with
flaxen hair? We used always to be sitting by the river then, singing songs . . . under the willows, and
laughing bitterly, she added: The baby girl died. Yakov did not remember his baby from years ago.
Yakov had shut out most of his past, and only thought of profit and losses. However when Yakov later
goes and sits beneath the tree and finally remembers their child, the reader is not ever sure as to
whether he actually remembers the child, or if it is just a figment of his imagination. Another
ambiguity is when Yakov leaves the cemetary after Marfa s burial it is said that he didn t feel well.
However it is never clarified if he is physically ill, or emotionally ill. If Yakov is only emotionally ill
and ends up dying from this it would indicate that Yakov is much more deeply connected to Marfa
than has previously been shown. This would perpetuate the theme of loss, because if he was extremely
close to his wife, then her loss is only that much more painful to him. Loss is surely the main recurring
theme throughout Rothschild s Fiddle . Yakov in

Personality Of Will
Did you know that there are more than 132,500 quadriplegics in the United States alone? In the novel
Me Before You, Will suffers the struggle that a quadriplegic must face on a daily basis. Will got
paralyzed by being hit by a motorcycle while crossing the street, and ever since that day has been
depressed and wanting to demise. That s where his altruistic caregiver, Louise, plays a huge role in
trying to lift Wills spirit and urge to live. There are three objects essential to knowing the personality
of Will: a wheelchair, a television, and a scissors.
The first important object that helps to better understand Will is a wheelchair. Ever since the accident,
Will has been suspended in a wheelchair. After the accident, Will has given up on everything: ... Show

Ever since Will has been hiding behind his hair and scruffy facial hair, Louise has wanted to cut it:
You could cut your hair. It makes you look like some kind of vagrant (Moyes 96). By referring to Will
as a vagrant, Louise convinces Will to finally cut his hair. By doing so, Will is revealed in a way
Louise never really understood. There is a scar on his forehead that she never knew about. The cutting
of Will s hair also made him see the world in a different light, literally. Instead of being stuck behind a
dark shadow of hair, Will is able to see more light. These small differences make a big difference
when it comes down to if he chooses to commit suicide or not. The scissors itself is a temptation to
Will. If he gets his hands on it, he could potentially kill himself. The scissors is a devil living on
earth (Personification).By allowing Louise to cut his hair, Will is taking a step in the right direction.
He is showing trust in someone when he has all the reasons not to, after the incident. For these
reasons, a scissors is necessary for the plot of the story to make sense.
Will is the opposite of an open book. He is hard to understand, but with the three important objects,
the reader can get a better understanding of Will. The dull, black wheelchair represents the the new
transportation he has. The television reflects a better future for Will. Finally,

Why The Decline Of Newspaper Is Bad For The Us
Laura Finley states in her article The Decline of Newspapers Is Bad for the US that there has been
quite a decline in newspapers in recent years. The cause of this decline is none other than our beloved
internet. The biggest decline in newspapers was between October 2008 and March 2009. In this time
period average newspaper sales decreased by 7.1 percent compared to the year prior. (14 15)
Advertising revenues declined by an outstanding 30 percent in the first quarter of 2009! (15 16)
Since 2007 several major newspapers have been forced into bankruptcy or have experienced major
budget cuts due to the internet. One such newspaper is The Boston Globe who faced tremendous
financial danger and possible closure in May 2009. (16 17) Another such

Nazi Death Camp Research Paper
Nazi Death Camps
Imagine this: You are a Jew. You are loaded into a train car with several other people. It takes you to a
camp and you don t know what s going on. Nazis are shouting stern commands to you in German to
strip down and separate from your family. They take all of your belongings and tell you that you won t
need them. Worried, scared, and frightened, you are ushered into a large chamber with hundreds of
other people. Then the gas filters in. You and everyone else are dead within 20 minutes. This is how it
was for the prisoners of Nazi death camps during the Holocaust. Here are the examples of death
camps, Treblinka and Belzec, and also how it was in any Nazi death camp.
Many of the nazi death camps were part of Aktion Reinhard, (Operation Reinhard) a Nazi plan to kill
all of the 2 million Jews living in German occupied Poland (Treblinka). Most of the death camps used
gas chambers, a nazi favorite, to kill the prisoners. A gas chamber is a huge chamber that has pipes
running through it. The Nazis would pipe deadly carbon monoxide into them, killing everyone inside.
After they were dead, the Nazis would dump the bodies into mass graves, (huge pits) and dumped dirt
over them.
After the camps were not in use, the Nazis would plant crops ... Show more content on

Treblinka 1 and Treblinka 2. Treblinka 1 served as a concentration camp. People there died from
disease, starvation, and very harsh treatment (Treblinka). It ended in 1941. Treblinka 2, also opened in
1941, served only as a death camp. In 1943, the prisoners revolted; They set fire to the camp, and
many tried to escape into the surrounding forest. Hundreds were killed during the attempt, but a few
prisoners escaped and survived the war. After the revolt, the Germans killed the remaining prisoners
and dismantled the camp. To erase all evidence of Treblinka 2, the Germans planted crops over mass
graves and turned the area into a farm.

Civil Rights Case Summary
Civil rights are the rights yet privileges that all individuals can enforce (Hall, 2014). Civil rights are
those rights that are granted to individuals through the Bill of Rights. The Bill of Rights is recognized
as the first ten amendment of the United States Constitution. Those ten amendments are the rights of
individual s civil liberties. The Bill of Rights consists of the Right to free speech, Right to bear arms,
No unauthorized quartering of soldiers, Freedom from search and seizure, Freedom from self
incrimination, Trail by jury, Protection from excessive bail, and Unlisted rights and powers (Hall,

This case involves both Mildred Jeter and Richard Loving. Mildred is a black woman and Richard is a

resting solely upon distinction drawn according to race. In argument the Court argued the case of
Hirabayashi vs. United States {320 U.S 81,100 (1943)}. Equal protection clause demands racial
classification is subject to rigid scrutiny and independent of racial discrimination (purpose of the 14th
Amendment) (Loving v. Virginia, n.d.). The Court also discussed the case of Skinner vs. Oklahoma,

Essay about Persuasion in 12 Angry Men
In his article, The Necessary Art of Persuasion , Jay Conger stated that persuasion is NOT about
selling or convincing; rather, it is a learning and negotiating process. Good persuaders use and listen to
ongoing and active discussions (or debates) to learn about their audience and include different
opinions into a shared conclusion. In the movie 12 Angry Men , juror number 8 (Henry Fonda) was
not sure if evidence presented against a young defendant in court left reasonable doubt for a guilty
conviction. The other jurors believed the presented facts and the defendant s background warrants a
guilty conviction. The movie showed how juror number 8 persuasively got the other jurors to review
each fact logically, which led to an unanimous ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is critical to identify the tangible benefits and values that really matters to people being persuade.
Effective persuaders consider what is important to an audience and lays his or her position to match
common ground with the audience. This is a give and take process. Effective persuaders also use
testimonies, past and current research, etc and readjust their argument to make them appealing to their
audience. Persuaders must know an audience well enough to know what will capture their immediate
and continued attention.
Juror number 8 was in a situation where there is no common ground between him and the other jurors.
All are from diverse backgrounds and uncomfortably brought together to deliberate the facts in an
open and shut murder trial. Juror number 8, wanting to just talk , kept reconsidering and adjusting his
position with the other juror s positions about the defendant until a common was reach in the
deliberation. Again, this is a give and take process and is effective if properly done right.
The third essential step is presenting evidence to an audience. Conger stated that evidence alone will
not convince an audience to support a position or an idea. Evidence can appear too abstract and not
entirely informative. Persuaders, Conger noted, use stories, metaphors, analogies, examples, etc and
use vivid language skillfully to paint a compelling big picture of their point of view. This approach is
far more effective than stating facts in

The Road Is Not A Risk Free Environment
Our motor industry is persistently evolving, and it is contributing towards an increasing 0number of
people being able to afford personal vehicles. We may purchase a car as a mode of daily transport, or
for fun, but by riding a sports bike, we are putting our lives at a much greater risk. Presently there is
an absence of certain regulations for motorcyclists, which is a serious and valid safety concern.
Chances of injuries and fatalities become extremely high when we get into a collision on a 2 wheeled
vehicle; there is nothing besides safety gear to save you from harm when you are jerked out of your
seat right into the face of danger. It is and should be your choice to ride a motorcycle, and that mostly
all of us can agree on. The problem, however, exists when people are making that choice without
having the right knowledge, mindset, utilizing the correct gear, or having proper training.
While it is true that the road is not a risk free environment regardless of the mode of transport, and that
we as individuals cannot control the actions of our fellow driver s, we can at least, with our
experience, keep ourselves measurably safer in a car. It is clearly a game of life and death when a
small nudge from any other vehicle can easily kill you as a result, and yet many chose to chance these
odds for the thrill. The estimated ratio for deaths in a car per mile, opposed to a motorcycle in 2014,
was 1:27! And, for an inexperienced motorist, these accidents are far less

My Girl Analysis
Howard Zieff s 1991 film My Girl, is a comedic drama and coming to age tale of a young girl that
goes through an emotional roller coaster, which confronts her with death at a very young age. The film
replicates real life scenarios and experiences which grabs the audience s attention because it s
relatable. End result, we are all confronted with the fact that death is inexplicably inevitable.
When reflecting on the film My Girl, one may feel a sudden bittersweet sadness because the film is
about death. Regardless of one s particular belief system or perception, the fact remains that death is
the end of our physical lives as we know it. When the death is unexpected, it creates an emotional
impact and leaves an impression on one s own life. My Girl at the time was a memorable film for
coming to age teens who have lost someone and it will always appeal to teen audiences of different
generations from here on out because of this theme.
To illustrate this topic, Zieff s illuminates what in many cultures is considered taboo. Adults and
children can openly talk about this subject with the help of this film. From the beginning of her life,
the main character Vada has been surrounded by death, some of which happened without her even
own knowing. Her mother died while giving birth to her and her father operates a funeral service out
of their home. In addition to this, you experience her lose her best friend who winds up dying because
of a bee string.

Remembering the Wright Brothers
Wright Brothers Where they are from Orville Wright was born on August 19, 1871 and died on

(The Wright Brothers) Orville was the Scientist of the family. He loved science and technology. He
was also quite shy, although he was never timid about playing practical jokes on his family and
friends. We were lucky enough to glow up in an environment where there was always much
encouragement to children to purse intellectual interest; to investigate whatever arouse curiosity. In a
different kind of environment, our curiosity might have been nipped long before it could have borne
fruit. (TextBook). Wilbur who was four years older than Orville, was outgoing. He excelled at writing

The Theme Of Love In Midsummer Night Dream
A Midsummer s Night Dream a drama play by William Shakespeare it is a play about how love works
in mysterious ways. In this play there are four characters that are determined to get their true love.
There is Hermia who is in love with Lysander and so is he of her. There is Demetrius who also is in
love with Hermia but Hermia not of him. Also, Helena who is in love with Demetrius, but Demetrius
loves Hermia. This play takes place in Athens in the 1500 s when there was a Duke and the daughter
had to marry the person her father picked. It is a play where there is confusion by one of the fairies
named Puck who gave the spell to Lysander instead Demetrius and Lysander love for Hernia was
gone. The conflict in Midsummer s Night Dream was that Hermia could not be with her true love
Lysander and both decide to run away and leave Athens. If they would have not told Helena that they
were leaving Athens, then Helena would have not told Demetrius and he would have not gone after
Hernia who he loved. The theme of the play can be that love cannot run away, as they all went into the
woods after their true love. The plot of this story took place in Athens and in the woods. Hermia
wanted to marry Lysander but her father Egeus wanted to marry her with Demetrius who the father
loved. They all go to meet with Theseus who is the Duke of Athens to come up with a conclusion to
this matter. Demetrius also loved Hermia, but Hermia did not love him. Helena loved Demetrius, but

Affirmative Action Should Be Changed or Ended All Together
Affirmative action should be changed or ended altogether
In the late Sixties, Martin Luther King Jr. fought hard for equal rights. Before he was assassinated in
1968, he made a speech about his vision of human equality. I have a dream that my four children will
one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of
their character. (King) The Sixties were a turning point for racial equality. Because of leaders like
King, many blacks and minority groups began to face/win new opportunities that were never before

If we base our decisions on race or gender, we turn our back on the group that truly needs assistance:
the low income family. Race is present in every level of society, the lower class, the middle class, and
the upper class. Then why should middle and upper class minorities benefit today with special
privileges when they may have not been personally affected by discrimination? There are no policies
or procedures of affirmative action that prove an individual deserves special privileges. In theory, a
wealthy minority citizen would receive more advantages in society than an underprivileged or low
income white male. In this case, the underprivileged is in more need, but the determination of the
benefits is solely decided by ethnicity and not by proven hardship or financial need. The Center for
Equal Opportunity has expressed their disapproval of affirmative action specifically because it has
been an unnecessary benefit for wealthy minority business owners. The most disadvantaged group of
Americans are not blacks, Hispanics or women—they are the low income individuals who are
underprivileged.
In addition, affirmative action lowers the standards of excellence. The only quality that has value

On the Road and On the Hunt In my favorite TV show, Supernatural, one of the protagonists and my
favorite character is Dean Winchester, a certainly very round character. The series begins in Lawrence,
Kansas with the demonic death of Dean s mother Mary. Consequently he, his brother Sam, and his
father John are thrust into the world of the supernatural. John becomes obsessed with hunting the evil

He didn t even hesitate. Dean s inner mission is to save everyone he can, especially Sam, before he
saves himself. After the death of Mary, Dean was raised on two principles: hunting and taking care of
Sam. He feels it is his job and duty to do everything in his power to protect Sam. Dean s family is his
world, and after his father dies, all he has left is Sam. In every situation where Sam is hurt or in
danger, Dean loses any inhibition or fear in order to save him. As Sam grew, Dean did his best to
shield him from the world they knew so that he could be a normal happy kid. Flashbacks throughout
many episodes show viewers their lives as they grew up. What Dean wants most is to be able to work
and survive without Sam so that he can lead a normal, happy life. He knows it is too late for him.
Later in the series, Dean gets involved with an old flame and her son. He constantly struggles to
maintain their relationship while at the same time protect them from the hazards of his lifestyle. He
eventually gives them up to keep them out of harm. The constant conflict he faces prevents him from
becoming close with people. Therefore, occasionally he has to remind Sam that they are all they have.

Le An Objective For Prohibition
Abstract: Lean is a conspicuous theory and application which expects the use of a wide range of assets
for any reason, other than the production of significant worth for the end client to be inefficient, and
subsequently an objective for prohibition. The theory and mindset communicated by an arrangement
of standards, supplemented by various devices and systems helps for waste abolition, equipped
execution change, stock diminishment, and ideal quality level to the end clients. It is one of the
principal and far reaching ideas that add to organizations everywhere throughout the globe to increase
upper hand and thrive on the global market. (Čiarnienė Vienažindienė, 2015) Introduction: These day
s organizations everywhere throughout the world are confronting with expanding demands from
clients and competitors. Clients have higher desires, and makers can meet these desires by expanding
item s quality, diminishing conveyance time, and reducing costs or a mix of these three categories.
These push business organizations to actualize new generation methodologies to upgrade their
intensity in the worldwide commercial center. Lean is a coordinated arrangement of standards,
practices, apparatuses, and procedures which expect the consumption of a wide range of assets for any
reason other than the making of significant worth for the end client to be inefficient, and in this
manner an objective for avoidance. The end of non quality included exercises decreases expenses and

Aesthetic Disinterestedness Analysis
Jameson Hoffman HON 3310 Dr. Hayan Charara November 17, 2017 Disinterestedness and Distance
in Modernist Aesthetics In his essay On the Origins of Aesthetic Disinterestedness Jerome Stolnitz
describes how aesthetic criticism began with Lord Shaftesbury s idea of the virtuous man as a
spectator, devoted to the very survey and contemplation of beauty in manners and morals, the initial
practical significance of disinterested is supplanted altogether by the perceptual , a definition that
would eventually grow from an ethical one to an aesthetic one (133). While much of the tradition of
aesthetic theory is built on this idea of the necessity of being disinterested in the object in question,
however, the implied inability to judge the aesthetic of objects a viewer is interested in is extremely
limiting. Immanuel Kant, an inheritor of this idea, goes further and completely rules out any
judgement from an interested viewer: everyone must admit that a judgment about beauty, in which the
least interest mingles, is very partial and is not a pure judgment of taste (2). Both men, being of the
18th century, could never have anticipated a Modernist aesthetic which relies heavily on the beauty of
utility and inherently requires an interested spectator. The aesthetic principles of Modernism are in
many ways even entirely incompatible with the kind of aesthetic disinterestedness Kant espoused. We
must first decipher exactly what Kant meant by an interested viewer. Kant distinguishes between
adherent and free beauty; with free beauty there is presupposed no concept of any purpose which the
manifold of the given object is to serve while human beauty (i.e. of a man, a woman, or a child), the
beauty of a horse, or a building (be it church, palace, arsenal, or summer house), presupposes a
general concept of the purpose which determines what the thing is to be... It is therefore adherent
beauty (15). To Kant the judgement of free beauty is pure because the viewer doesn t project their own
ideas and wishes onto it or become swayed by the physical pleasure that accompanies it (15). A
functional object which is good for the thing itself in accordance with its purpose, however, is a
hindrance to the the

Why Tarzan Is Not An Appropriate Movie
At age 6, one would expect a kid to be innocent and have nothing but good thoughts. At an older age
though, all those innocent thoughts are taken away and that boy who was once a kid is faced with the
reality of the world. A child who is six old years old and younger shouldn t have to deal with all that
negative information about death, rejection, replacement, and the truth about society. A movie
containing all of that should not be seen by kids who are younger than seven, which is why Tarzan is
not an appropriate movie. The movie may have a happy ending, but the parts that lead up to that
ending are not as happy as one may think. Connie Zweig and Jeremiah Abrams are the authors of The
Shadow of Everyday Life. They describe The Shadow as having negative emotions and behaviors
rage, jealousy, shame... suicidal and murderous tendencies (Zweig 324). All of these are presented in
the movie. At first, Tarzan begins with a couple that escape a burning ship and then are forced to go
into the jungle with their son Tarzan. Meanwhile, two gorilla parents are smiling, cradling, and
cuddling with their baby gorilla. One night, when the gorillas are sleeping, the baby gorilla sees a frog
and runs after it. He soon stops in front of a leopard. The leopard lets out a big roar that wakes up the
gorillas. They run to try to get to their son as fast as they can, but the leopard catches the baby gorilla
and leaves with him (Tarzan). Now, even though it didn t show what happened

Colonialism And Poverty
The foremost cause of global poverty is colonialism. After Christopher Columbus discovered the new
world in 1492, Europeans invaded the Americas, Africa, and East Asia. Today, these places are some
of the most affected by poverty. The poverty persists because the peoples of these places were killed
and enslaved. Their land, natural resources, and way of life were stolen by the colonizers. The
colonizers forced the colonies to shift from subsistence farming to cash crops, obliterating the natural
economy. Since they only grew cash crops, they were forced to buy European goods. The economy of
the colonies became locked and they became completely dependent on the colonizing country. Soon,
the colonies found themselves in debt to their colonizers. What little money these colonies were able
to make went to repay the debt, instead of going toward the development of the colony. Additionally,
since they were indebted to them, their colonizers had control over their economy. The creditors took
full advantage of this and forced the colonies to adopt neoliberalism and privatize companies and
resources, which plunged even more people into absolute poverty. Even when many of these colonies
became their own independent countries, the documentary mentioned that the debt was transferred
over to the new country, even though this was a violation of international law. This same system
continues to this day and everyday more and more people find themselves in poverty.
In my opinion, it is

Cinema allows you to learn about other cultures and religions than your own. Cinema can also open
people s eyes to what is really going on in the world. For example in this Arab world, many women
are subservient to men. The reason being is that this is just the cultural norm. In the film, Razieh fears
disobeyed her husband. However she takes a job without his knowledge. She must do so in order to
provide for her family. In this way, Razieh is going against cultural norms. In most societies, including
those of the Middle East, the man is always the provider. It is seen as disrespectful for a man to have
to rely on a woman to provide. A man s word is also law. Going against it can be dangerous. The
movie Wadjda, played with these themes. In the film, Wadjda is an Arab girl who is rebelling against
the cultural norms. She wants to be able to ride a bike, wear sneakers, and do everything else her male
counterparts get to do. She is punished and looked down upon for this behavior. For Razieh, it is not
so easy to break from her religious and cultural norms. However in the end of the film, when faced
with a dilemma, she follows her heart instead of her husband, and makes a decision that is morally
right to her. Showing women like this can have a powerful impact. Whether it be the strength Razieh
has to provide for her family, or the courage Wadjda has to want to be different, these women are

What Is My Passion In Life Essay
Sometimes it s hard to find that little thing in life that makes you succeed. That small detail that brings
you a long way. Passion is a never ending journey. A trait that My journey started out when I was only
four years old. I got to that age where my parents were ready to send me off for an extra activity to

my week. I looked forward to dancing in front of a mirror with my class and on top of it got to have
the opportunity to wear my pink sparkly leotard. After two years of two tutus and tiaras I realized I

my team bring home that participation trophy. I played on the same team with the same girls for many
seasons and I thought soccer was going to be the sport but when I heard my best friends were both

Community Water System
The environmental justice hypothesis as stated by Brown, P. is that hazards in the physical and
chemical environmental disproportionately affect those individuals and households that also face
hazards in their social environment. What Brown is indicating is that environmental justice is mostly
seen being acted upon people belonging to the groups of poor, minority and color. The issue of
injustice of exposure of arsenic in poor, minority and color groups is a complex one because of the
natural occurrence of arsenic in ground water shows no bias in who it affects. It can only be avoided
through adequate testing and treatment. The injustice stems from the legal enforcement of new
regulation of the Safe Drinking Water Act (SWDA), updated on January 22, 2001, and the differences
in detection and treatment as subject to different racial and socioeconomic groups. Regulated
communities are asking for flexibility in design of enforcement because it is harder for small public
water systems (PWS) to adhere to new regulation. Smaller systems are unable to adhere to new
regulation in time because they do not have the finances to update technology and machinery. Since
they serve a smaller number of people the cost of updating their facilities is higher per person. Larger
systems are able to spread out the cost more efficiently among a larger number of people making it
easier for them to comply (Cory, D.C.).

Mental Healthcare in America
Mental Health Care and the American Social System
American history is littered with tails of reform and revolution. Earlier on in America s young life,
revolution included war, struggle for basic human rights and dignity as well as radical tactics taken by
the public. As time went on Americans learned that revolution and reform could occur through the
government systems that our forefathers had put in place. The battle for human rights has all but
ended but the way in which Americans wage war is a different story altogether. Now American s fight
for better public healthcare, equal rights for homosexual individuals and couples, and stricter
standards for social welfare programs.

With her endless efforts, Dorothea Dix succeeded in helping create a congressional bill regarding the
government s role in mental health care. Unfortunately after the bill had been passed by both houses,
President Franklin Pierce vetoed the proposal. Even though Ms. Dix did not see the bill she created
become law, she did manage to create 32 hospitals for the mentally ill and approximately 15 schools
for the mentally handicapped and blind (Marshall, 1937). Dorothea also helped establish several
training facilities for nurses and established libraries in numerous prisons across the nation. Though
Dorothea Dix was considered to be ahead of her time, the efforts she made and her accomplishments
were key in establishing a better mental health care system in America.
Another great advocate for the mentally ill in America was a man named Clifford Beers. This Yale
graduate and business man was subjected, firsthand, to the torturous treatment utilized by metal health
care facilities in America when he suffered a psychological breakdown in 1900. After years of

Placing The Blame On Hale s The Crucible
Placing the Blame on Hale The town of Salem, Massachusetts was a quiet, uneventful town for quite
some time. When accusations of witchcraft began circling certain members of the community,
Reverend Parris called in outside help. Reverent John Hale came from Beverly, the next town over. He
strongly believes that everyone has a good side, though that belief sometimes alters his perception of
people. Though his attempts to help were noble, he could have prevented over fifty deaths by staying
out of Salem. Hale becomes the primary cause of the witch hunts because he s overly trusting, kind,
and often rushes to solve complex problems in Arthur Miller s The Crucible. As a general rule, Hale
believes most of what he s told, without questioning the truth of it. Not long after coming to Salem,
Hale begins questioning members of the community about witchcraft. To Abigail, he asks, Did you
call the Devil last night? (481 Miller), to which she replies, seemingly fearfully, I never called him!
Tituba, Tituba... (481 Miller). To the reader, it s rather obvious that Abigail is attempting to blame
Tituba for her suspicious actions. Parris interrupts, asking, She called the Devil? (481 Miller), and
Hale begins to shift his suspicion, saying, I should like to speak with Tituba. (481 Miller). Nearly
immediately after Hale has another person to focus his questioning on, he accepts Abigail s story and
moves on. Hale could have avoided this by noting the name, but continuing to

Mussolini s writings throughout the period were characterized by not only Marxism but also
syndicalism. Mussolini continued to write for Socialist newspapers such as Avanti and rose through
the ranks to become a prominent leader in the Italian Socialist Party after returning to Italy and
spending two years as a soldier, followed by a few years teaching. However, World War I and
Mussolini s expulsion from the Socialist Party marked a drastic change in Mussolini s public political
stance.
Shortly after the initiation of World War I, on August 2nd, 1914, Italy declared neutrality, a sentiment
which most members of Il Partito Socialista Italiano or the Italian Socialist Party shared. William
Welk (1938, 7 9), observes that in this conflict, Mussolini made his first divergence from the socialist
party, repudiating the stance of the PSI, by speaking openly in favor of intervention. Hereafter,
Mussolini established himself as an incendiary figure in favor of the interventionist objective. This
ultimately led to his expulsion from the party in November of 1914, as well as being relieved of his
role as editor of Avanti. He then started his own paper Il Popolo d Italia and continued to exert his
influence in Italian media, this time outside of the bounds of the Socialist Party. After Italy s

St. Augustine s Confessions Essay
When a Catholic thinks of sin, the following questions come to his or her mind: Are my actions
morally right? Am I disobeying God? Defying God s rule is a sin, and seeking forgiveness is pivotal,
mainly because it shows that one is aware that he or she has committed a sin, and therefore, he or she
must seek redemption. For example, consider the following seven deadly sins: pride, envy, gluttony,
lust, anger, greed, and sloth ( The Seven Deadly Sins, 1). In Saint Augustine s Confessions, readers get
the chance to learn about sin through Saint Augustine s experiences of sin confrontations and
temptations. For instance, in Confessions, the pear tree is depicted as a sin, a symbol of pleasure Saint
Augustine s original sin. How so? Well, stealing the pears with his friends is Saint Augustine s first
memory of sinning. Saint Augustine sees a parallel connection between the pear tree and the tree of
the knowledge of good and evil the original sin. In this paper, the idea of sin in Saint Augustine s story
of the pear will be applied to Chaucer s Pardoner s Prologue and Tale. Thus, allowing readers to
realize that the Pardoner embodies sin as Augustine defines it.
In Chaucer s The Pardoner s Prologue and Tale, the Pardoner is a medieval preacher whose ultimate
goal is to earn money by soliciting offerings and granting pardons. The prologue begins with the

Portrayal Of Women In The Media
Marilyn Monroe, Sophia Loren, and Eartha Kitt are famously known for their hourglass figures. Years
ago, women were celebrated for their natural curvy figures. Today, if you turn on the television or
open a magazine, one comes face to face with unrealistically thin models. This epidemic has increased
the number of women who are dissatisfied with their bodies. This paper will assess several articles,
literature reviews, and papers that relate to the media s portrayal of the ideal women s body being
extremely thin. Each source elaborates on the dissatisfaction women have with their bodies as a result
of the content released in the media. Irving (2008) defines media as a Tool used to transmit ideas,
images, messages, or information to the public. The media strategically targets adolescent females.
This is specifically ages 13 18 (Steinberg Morris, 2001). During these precious years of life,
adolescents go through periods of struggle with identity. The most prominent struggle is understanding
their role in society, and conforming to social norms. Media today offers a distorted vision of the
world, and therefore makes it difficult for adolescents to decipher what is actually realistic (Van
Vonderen Kinnally, 2012). Present day, the media has easily become the most influential factor of our
culture. For instance, when a news story, product, or service needs to be publicized where do

When it comes to communicating with people in our daily lives, there are many people that think there

formal channel is the conventional method of communication in any police
department, which usually follows a chain of command. This kind of
communication channel is characterized by directives, written memorandums, and
formal orders. This type of communication gives a sense of security to a police
department, while at the same time provides a sense of order in the department.
There are some disadvantages to this type of communication, one is that it is very
time consuming and personnel consuming, Another disadvantage is that the formal
channel of communication has is that it effects the free flow of information between
the speaker and the receiver.
The formal channel can seem to be a hindrance to spontaneous thoughts and ideas.
There are also advantages to formal communication channels. The formal channel
provides the police organization with a type of consistency, because all officers
5 receive the same information. This is significant when there is information about a
crime, and t his information needs to get the officers that are out patrolling the area.
An informal channel of communication is basically departmental gossips. This
basically is an unofficial channel of communication within a police organization.

Children are dearly loved (Durham 2014, p. 403), and large families are common. It is important that
the parents are not left childless and that the family name is carried on therefore it is important to have
more than one child. Sons are highly favorable because they provide economic security, political
strength, and endure social prestige (Kridli, 2002). If the first pregnancy in a family results in a girl,
the desire to try again is high, if this child is a girl, they typically continue to try until they get a boy. If
the first child is a boy, sometimes they will only have one (Kridli, 2002). Kridli says that there are
three main pressures to have children in the Arabic culture, they include: 1. Traditional required for
help and work in the fields and caregivers for elderly parents, 2. Familial pressure to have kids to be
able to preserve the family name, 3. Religious desire to be fruitful and the belief in God and his
powers to care for any child that is conceived (2002). Children and family are so important in this
culture that family planning is only acceptable to space out children, it is not to be used to limit the
size of a family. The practice of sterilization is not used unless the mother is in poor health and it
would compromise subsequent pregnancies. Because family planning is not acceptable, knowledge on
proper use of contraceptives is unknown to many Arabic people. Arab Americans are more accepting
of contraceptives but need the education on options and importance of correct use (Kridli 2002).
Finding out the sex of the unborn child is believed to cause the evil eye. No one knows what is in the
womb but God (Kridli, 2002), he could potentially change the sex at any time throughout the
pregnancy.

Rebirth is an over arching theme in the book, Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet, written by
Jamie Ford. One of the main symbols of second rebirth is the ever present Oscar Holden record. The
records symbolizes not only Henry and Keiko s relationship, but how it can be renewed. From when
Henry and Keiko buy the record, to Henry finding it 40 years later, the record always has a strong
significance in the book. Though not the first mention of the Oscar Holden record, the story of the

The youth justice system was defined by the 1962 Family Court Act that was invented to deal with
kids from the 1950 s who only stole from the market or carried B.B. guns. It is powerless to the teens
of today who commit random killings, robberies, and rapes. Research has also shown that kids who
grow up in poverty or lower income levels are more likely to exhibit violent behavior. As more and
more children are being raised in poor families, they suffer from the instability caused by their parents
lack of money. Janelle Rohr quotes a journalist for The Washington Spectator when she concludes that
teenagers violent behavior is an expression of frustration and an effort to take some of the wealth they
are denied (14). This could mean robbing, raping, or even killing. It is mainly inner cities where these
crimes occur. Rohr states that Homicides take the lives of more children in the District of Columbia
than any other type of injury, including car accidents, house fires, or drownings (171). The attention
that the teens get from committing crimes may be the only type of attention they ever get, and this
may be the reason that many young people turn to the life of a criminal.

Tecumseh slowly transformed his brother s religious following into a political movement. In 1808
Tecumseh and the Prophet moved their village to the juncture of the Tippecanoe and Wabash rivers,

land at the Treaty of Fort Wayne, Tecumseh gradually eclipsed his brother as the primary leader of the

  • 2. Effects Of Economics On Political Change The findings of this study leads to puzzling discoveries. Moving forward, researchers should look at effects of economics on political change in the South at a local level as well as at the state level. While the findings suggest a decline in agriculture affected party strength, the more general question about economic change affecting party strength/partisanship needs further exploration. There were more economic changes occurring in the South besides agricultural decline. The South also experienced increases in its manufacturing, government and services sectors during the time under study. Under the current hypothesis as a community becomes less agricultural, people most people made more money and became more susceptible economic ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A mixed methods approach seems on the outset to be most appropriate for this future research, because it allows for interviews with local party leaders to guide the statistical analyses. Also, most people consider themselves citizens of a community more than they consider themselves citizens of a state. Thus, individuals should be better able to notice the economic change on a community level instead of a state level. The closest data that is publically available for community data is at the county or municipal level. One particular problem with doing research at the county level is that not all data one would want is available at that level. Missing data was a particularly troublesome problem for the present analysis but there are some possibilities to provide a statistical fix to that problem. Some of these issues may be solved using multilevel modeling to generate point estimates from large national polls, however, a statistical fix does not cure the absence of data. One of the interesting findings of this project concerned the effects of turnout on changes in party strength. There seem to be several ways forward here. One can expand the study and see if changes in turnout also drove changes outside of the South. This seems unlikely, however, because the South had such anemic turnout at the start of the period under study while the rest of the nation did not. There are other ways to address this as well. For example, I could look at cohorts of first time voters ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. New Testament Chapter 13 Summary of An Introduction to the New Testament Chapter One Thinking About The Study of the New Testament The authors of the textbook intend chapter one to be a baseline or at least a starting point for scholars that are possibly studying the New Testament for the first time. The stated aim of the chapter is to provide enough of a framework to make the rest of this textbook, and a lot of other books on the New Testament, a little easier to understand. (23) Highlighted in the chapter are some of the more common criticisms used by scholars today (e.g., form criticism, redaction criticism, textual criticism, and historical criticism, just to name a few), along with some of the key figures throughout history that have utilized such criticisms to help shape scholarly study of the New Testament canon. Chapter ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Carson and Moo make the reader aware of the authorship dispute regarding Ephesians. They point to seven arguments that support the traditional view that Paul wrote it. Likewise, they then draw attention to five argument used by modern scholars to deny Pauline authorship. After the controversies surrounding authorship are covered Carson and Moo move on to another controversy. The section tiled Destination is where it is found. Modern scholars argue several theories as to where Paul or whoever they claim the author to be, may have written the letter for. Once claim that has gained traction over the years is that the letter was meant to be a circular letter a letter circulated among churches. Another claim is that the letter was intended for the Laodiceans, as Marcion thought. Even still, another theory suggests the letter was written as an introduction to all the other letters Paul wrote. • 4. Rothschilds Fiddle Jackson Weeks Harold English 101 1 31 13 Chekhov s Use of Futliarnost to Develop Yakov and the Importance of Morals in Rothschild s Fiddle Futliarnost, a Russian literature theme which is often present in Anton Chekhov s short stories, is when a character is encased in a situation and can not escape. In Rothschild s Fiddle , Yakov is entrapped in an almost trance like state, that is brought about by loss and remorse in his life. Is Yakov ever released from this state, through Marfa s death, or any other instance and does Chekhov intend for the reader to see one single moral in this story? Chekhov uses irony and ambiguity to develop Yakov Rothschild s Fiddle into a deeper character as well. Chekhov uses one particular irony ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Perhaps she was just rosy from the fever, or more likely just relieved that she was finally going to be released from her dreary life of being frightened by Yakov, mistreated, and not appreciated. Even though Marfa only has a small presence in the text, she is a great tool for Chekhov. She is used to bring up Yakov s past. Marfa says Do you remember fifty years ago God gave us a little baby with flaxen hair? We used always to be sitting by the river then, singing songs . . . under the willows, and laughing bitterly, she added: The baby girl died. Yakov did not remember his baby from years ago. Yakov had shut out most of his past, and only thought of profit and losses. However when Yakov later goes and sits beneath the tree and finally remembers their child, the reader is not ever sure as to whether he actually remembers the child, or if it is just a figment of his imagination. Another ambiguity is when Yakov leaves the cemetary after Marfa s burial it is said that he didn t feel well. However it is never clarified if he is physically ill, or emotionally ill. If Yakov is only emotionally ill and ends up dying from this it would indicate that Yakov is much more deeply connected to Marfa than has previously been shown. This would perpetuate the theme of loss, because if he was extremely close to his wife, then her loss is only that much more painful to him. Loss is surely the main recurring theme throughout Rothschild s Fiddle . Yakov in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It takes you to a camp and you don t know what s going on. Nazis are shouting stern commands to you in German to strip down and separate from your family. They take all of your belongings and tell you that you won t need them. Worried, scared, and frightened, you are ushered into a large chamber with hundreds of other people. Then the gas filters in. You and everyone else are dead within 20 minutes. This is how it was for the prisoners of Nazi death camps during the Holocaust. Here are the examples of death camps, Treblinka and Belzec, and also how it was in any Nazi death camp. Many of the nazi death camps were part of Aktion Reinhard, (Operation Reinhard) a Nazi plan to kill all of the 2 million Jews living in German occupied Poland (Treblinka). Most of the death camps used gas chambers, a nazi favorite, to kill the prisoners. A gas chamber is a huge chamber that has pipes running through it. Essay about Persuasion in 12 Angry Men In his article, The Necessary Art of Persuasion , Jay Conger stated that persuasion is NOT about selling or convincing; rather, it is a learning and negotiating process. Good persuaders use and listen to ongoing and active discussions (or debates) to learn about their audience and include different opinions into a shared conclusion. In the movie 12 Angry Men , juror number 8 (Henry Fonda) was not sure if evidence presented against a young defendant in court left reasonable doubt for a guilty conviction. Effective persuaders consider what is important to an audience and lays his or her position to match common ground with the audience. This is a give and take process. Effective persuaders also use testimonies, past and current research, etc and readjust their argument to make them appealing to their audience. Persuaders must know an audience well enough to know what will capture their immediate and continued attention. Juror number 8 was in a situation where there is no common ground between him and the other jurors. All are from diverse backgrounds and uncomfortably brought together to deliberate the facts in an open and shut murder trial. Juror number 8, wanting to just talk , kept reconsidering and adjusting his position with the other juror s positions about the defendant until a common was reach in the deliberation. Again, this is a give and take process and is effective if properly done right. The third essential step is presenting evidence to an audience. Conger stated that evidence alone will not convince an audience to support a position or an idea. Evidence can appear too abstract and not entirely informative. • 10. The Road Is Not A Risk Free Environment Our motor industry is persistently evolving, and it is contributing towards an increasing 0number of people being able to afford personal vehicles. We may purchase a car as a mode of daily transport, or for fun, but by riding a sports bike, we are putting our lives at a much greater risk. Presently there is an absence of certain regulations for motorcyclists, which is a serious and valid safety concern. Chances of injuries and fatalities become extremely high when we get into a collision on a 2 wheeled vehicle; there is nothing besides safety gear to save you from harm when you are jerked out of your seat right into the face of danger. It is and should be your choice to ride a motorcycle, and that mostly all of us can agree on. The problem, however, exists when people are making that choice without having the right knowledge, mindset, utilizing the correct gear, or having proper training. While it is true that the road is not a risk free environment regardless of the mode of transport, and that we as individuals cannot control the actions of our fellow driver s, we can at least, with our experience, keep ourselves measurably safer in a car. It is clearly a game of life and death when a small nudge from any other vehicle can easily kill you as a result, and yet many chose to chance these odds for the thrill. The estimated ratio for deaths in a car per mile, opposed to a motorcycle in 2014, was 1:27! And, for an inexperienced motorist, these accidents are far less ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The film replicates real life scenarios and experiences which grabs the audience s attention because it s relatable. End result, we are all confronted with the fact that death is inexplicably inevitable. When reflecting on the film My Girl, one may feel a sudden bittersweet sadness because the film is about death. Regardless of one s particular belief system or perception, the fact remains that death is the end of our physical lives as we know it. When the death is unexpected, it creates an emotional impact and leaves an impression on one s own life. My Girl at the time was a memorable film for coming to age teens who have lost someone and it will always appeal to teen audiences of different generations from here on out because of this theme. To illustrate this topic, Zieff s illuminates what in many cultures is considered taboo. Adults and children can openly talk about this subject with the help of this film. Race is present in every level of society, the lower class, the middle class, and the upper class. Then why should middle and upper class minorities benefit today with special privileges when they may have not been personally affected by discrimination? There are no policies or procedures of affirmative action that prove an individual deserves special privileges. In theory, a wealthy minority citizen would receive more advantages in society than an underprivileged or low income white male. In this case, the underprivileged is in more need, but the determination of the benefits is solely decided by ethnicity and not by proven hardship or financial need. The Center for Equal Opportunity has expressed their disapproval of affirmative action specifically because it has been an unnecessary benefit for wealthy minority business owners. The most disadvantaged group of Americans are not blacks, Hispanics or women—they are the low income individuals who are underprivileged. • 17. Aesthetic Disinterestedness Analysis Jameson Hoffman HON 3310 Dr. Hayan Charara November 17, 2017 Disinterestedness and Distance in Modernist Aesthetics In his essay On the Origins of Aesthetic Disinterestedness Jerome Stolnitz describes how aesthetic criticism began with Lord Shaftesbury s idea of the virtuous man as a spectator, devoted to the very survey and contemplation of beauty in manners and morals, the initial practical significance of disinterested is supplanted altogether by the perceptual , a definition that would eventually grow from an ethical one to an aesthetic one (133). While much of the tradition of aesthetic theory is built on this idea of the necessity of being disinterested in the object in question, however, the implied inability to judge the aesthetic of objects a viewer is interested in is extremely limiting. Immanuel Kant, an inheritor of this idea, goes further and completely rules out any judgement from an interested viewer: everyone must admit that a judgment about beauty, in which the least interest mingles, is very partial and is not a pure judgment of taste (2). Both men, being of the 18th century, could never have anticipated a Modernist aesthetic which relies heavily on the beauty of utility and inherently requires an interested spectator. The aesthetic principles of Modernism are in many ways even entirely incompatible with the kind of aesthetic disinterestedness Kant espoused. We must first decipher exactly what Kant meant by an interested viewer. Kant distinguishes between adherent and free beauty; with free beauty there is presupposed no concept of any purpose which the manifold of the given object is to serve while human beauty (i.e. of a man, a woman, or a child), the beauty of a horse, or a building (be it church, palace, arsenal, or summer house), presupposes a general concept of the purpose which determines what the thing is to be... It is therefore adherent beauty (15). To Kant the judgement of free beauty is pure because the viewer doesn t project their own ideas and wishes onto it or become swayed by the physical pleasure that accompanies it (15). A functional object which is good for the thing itself in accordance with its purpose, however, is a hindrance to the the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 18. Why Tarzan Is Not An Appropriate Movie At age 6, one would expect a kid to be innocent and have nothing but good thoughts. At an older age though, all those innocent thoughts are taken away and that boy who was once a kid is faced with the reality of the world. A child who is six old years old and younger shouldn t have to deal with all that negative information about death, rejection, replacement, and the truth about society. A movie containing all of that should not be seen by kids who are younger than seven, which is why Tarzan is not an appropriate movie. The movie may have a happy ending, but the parts that lead up to that ending are not as happy as one may think. Connie Zweig and Jeremiah Abrams are the authors of The Shadow of Everyday Life. He soon stops in front of a leopard. The leopard lets out a big roar that wakes up the gorillas. • 19. Colonialism And Poverty The foremost cause of global poverty is colonialism. After Christopher Columbus discovered the new world in 1492, Europeans invaded the Americas, Africa, and East Asia. Today, these places are some of the most affected by poverty. The poverty persists because the peoples of these places were killed and enslaved. Their land, natural resources, and way of life were stolen by the colonizers. The colonizers forced the colonies to shift from subsistence farming to cash crops, obliterating the natural economy. Since they only grew cash crops, they were forced to buy European goods. The economy of the colonies became locked and they became completely dependent on the colonizing country. Soon, the colonies found themselves in debt to their colonizers. What little money these colonies were able to make went to repay the debt, instead of going toward the development of the colony. Additionally, since they were indebted to them, their colonizers had control over their economy. The creditors took full advantage of this and forced the colonies to adopt neoliberalism and privatize companies and resources, which plunged even more people into absolute poverty. Even when many of these colonies became their own independent countries, the documentary mentioned that the debt was transferred over to the new country, even though this was a violation of international law. This same system continues to this day and everyday more and more people find themselves in poverty. In my opinion, it is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Community Water System The environmental justice hypothesis as stated by Brown, P. is that hazards in the physical and chemical environmental disproportionately affect those individuals and households that also face hazards in their social environment. What Brown is indicating is that environmental justice is mostly seen being acted upon people belonging to the groups of poor, minority and color. The issue of injustice of exposure of arsenic in poor, minority and color groups is a complex one because of the natural occurrence of arsenic in ground water shows no bias in who it affects. It can only be avoided through adequate testing and treatment. The injustice stems from the legal enforcement of new regulation of the Safe Drinking Water Act (SWDA), updated on January 22, 2001, and the differences in detection and treatment as subject to different racial and socioeconomic groups. Regulated communities are asking for flexibility in design of enforcement because it is harder for small public water systems (PWS) to adhere to new regulation. Smaller systems are unable to adhere to new regulation in time because they do not have the finances to update technology and machinery. Since they serve a smaller number of people the cost of updating their facilities is higher per person. Larger systems are able to spread out the cost more efficiently among a larger number of people making it easier for them to comply (Cory, D.C.). ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Traditional required for help and work in the fields and caregivers for elderly parents, 2. Familial pressure to have kids to be able to preserve the family name, 3. Religious desire to be fruitful and the belief in God and his powers to care for any child that is conceived (2002). Children and family are so important in this culture that family planning is only acceptable to space out children, it is not to be used to limit the size of a family. The practice of sterilization is not used unless the mother is in poor health and it would compromise subsequent pregnancies. Because family planning is not acceptable, knowledge on proper use of contraceptives is unknown to many Arabic people. Arab Americans are more accepting of contraceptives but need the education on options and importance of correct use (Kridli 2002). Finding out the sex of the unborn child is believed to cause the evil eye. No one knows what is in the womb but God (Kridli, 2002), he could potentially change the sex at any time throughout the pregnancy. Pregnancy is important in this culture marriage is dependent on fertility therefore she is not confirmed wife until she has a baby (Kridli, 2002). March 24, 1998, an eleven year old and a fourteen year old walked into school with hand guns, killing four and injuring ten classmates (teen violence.com). Thirty years ago, the biggest problem that kids at school were faced with was forgetting homework or being sent to the principal s office. On average one hundred and thirty five thousand weapons are brought into classrooms across the nation each ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The youth justice system was defined by the 1962 Family Court Act that was invented to deal with kids from the 1950 s who only stole from the market or carried B.B. guns. It is powerless to the teens of today who commit random killings, robberies, and rapes. Research has also shown that kids who grow up in poverty or lower income levels are more likely to exhibit violent behavior. As more and more children are being raised in poor families, they suffer from the instability caused by their parents lack of money. Janelle Rohr quotes a journalist for The Washington Spectator when she concludes that teenagers violent behavior is an expression of frustration and an effort to take some of the wealth they are denied (14). This could mean robbing, raping, or even killing. It is mainly inner cities where these crimes occur. Rohr states that Homicides take the lives of more children in the District of Columbia than any other type of injury, including car accidents, house fires, or drownings (171). The attention that the teens get from committing crimes may be the only type of attention they ever get, and this may be the reason that many young people turn to the life of a criminal. The National Rifle Association (NRA) has also been blamed for the lack of severity in gun control. Almost anyone in the U.S. can buy a gun. In 1808 Tecumseh and the Prophet moved their village to the juncture of the Tippecanoe and Wabash rivers, where the new settlement, Prophetstown, continued to attract Indians. After the loss of much Indian land at the Treaty of Fort Wayne, Tecumseh gradually eclipsed his brother as the primary leader of the movement. He traveled throughout the Midwest urging tribes to form a political confederacy to prevent any further erosion of their lands. In November 1811, while Tecumseh was in the South attempting to recruit the Creeks into his confederacy, U.S. forces marched against Prophetstown. In the subsequent Battle of the Tippecanoe they defeated the Prophet, burned the settlement, and destroyed the Indians food supplies.
