This document summarizes the different types of anemia. It discusses decreased red blood cell production due to nutritional deficiencies like iron deficiency or vitamin B12/folic acid deficiency which leads to megaloblastic anemia. It also discusses decreased red blood cell survival due to hereditary or acquired hemolytic anemias. The types covered include iron deficiency anemia, megaloblastic anemia, aplastic anemia, sickle cell anemia, thalassemia, hereditary spherocytosis, glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency, autoimmune hemolytic anemia, and post-hemorrhagic anemia.
