The urinary system consists of the kidneys, ureters, urinary bladder, and urethra. The kidneys filter waste from the blood and regulate fluid levels, producing urine. The urine travels from the kidneys down the ureters and into the urinary bladder, where it is stored until excretion through the urethra. The main functions of the urinary system are removal of waste, storage of urine, and excretion of urine.
