The Extinction Of The Endangered Species Act
Since earth was created, there has been a natural phenomenon of species across the globe appearing
and disappearing. However, in the past century, many species of animals have been disappearing at an
alarming rate. Mainly, this rapidly occurring issue is caused by humans. Humans that contribute to the
harmful actions that cause side effects such a pollution, deforestation, habitat loss and poaching. The
natural rate of extinction pales in comparison to the extinction rate caused by all of these. According
to the World Wildlife Fund, the current rate of extinction is 11,000 times greater than the natural
extinction rate. Several different efforts have been made in order to stop or slow down the extinction
of earth s species. The Endangered Species Act is possibly the most successful example of these
efforts. It s main purpose is to get a commitment from the American people that they will work hand
in hand to help save species that are at risk of becoming extinct and never returning. This act was put
in place in 1973 and since then, no other law about the disappearance of wildlife has been quite as
accomplished. Many different species that are protected under this law are either fully recovered or on
their way to becoming safer. Laws like these are helping many different creatures left and right,
however, at the alarming rate that they are disappearing, something else needs to be done. What
people don t seem to realize is that we depend on many of the animals that we are

British Influence in Canadian Government
Canada s Relationship with Britain British influence on Canadian government Many of the political
pressures in Canada today have their roots in the way the country was shaped politically over 150
years ago. How we do things now is based on institutions of government that go back even further.
Eugene A. Forsey, until his death considered the foremost expert on the Canadian Constitution, wrote
in how Canadians govern themselves: it is necessary to understand that our written Constitution,
unlike the American, is not a single document. It is a collection of 24 documents: 13 acts of the British
Parliament, seven of the Canadian, and four British orders in council. Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II
published that booklet in conjunction with the signing of the Canada Act. In addition to providing the
Charter of Rights, The Canada Act did several things. Forsey wrote: Under the terms of the Canada
Act, the Constitution Act, 1982 was proclaimed in Canada.... Under the Constitution Act, 1982, the
British North America Act and its various amendments (1871, 1886, 1907, 1915, 1930, 1940, 1960,
1964, 1965, 1974, 1975) became the Constitution Acts, 1867 1975. More important, it made four big
changes in our Constitution. First, it established four legal formulas or processes for amending the
Constitution.... The second big change made by the Constitution Act, 1982, is that the first three
amending formulas entrench certain parts of the written Constitution; that is, place

Analysis Of For Whom The Bell Toll By John Donne
The introduction to For Whom The Bell Tolls is a poem by John Donne, of which the last line says
any mans death diminishes me, because I am involved in Mankinde; And therefore never send to
know for whom the bell tolls; It tolls for thee (Hemingway 3). This line encapsulates the theme of the
novel and defines the novel s meaning. Robert Jordan the main character of the novel arrives in Spain
as a volunteer, ready to fight and give his life for other people s freedom and right to self
determination. One of the reasons why this novel was so enjoyable was its focus on the individual and
intense discussions about life and death and morality of killing for and idea. However, the reader can
not help identifying with Jordan, as he plans his own future despite subconsciously understanding his
fate.
For Whom The Bell Tolls takes place during the Spanish Civil War, during a time period when
political divisions, between the right and Nd left were at all time highs around the world. The novel
discusses an execution of the fascists in one of the main character, Pillar s, town, and she describes
how political beliefs became enough to kill someone for. Don Guillermo was a fascist but otherwise
there was nothing against him... He had a rude way of speaking and he was undoubtedly a fascist and
a member of their club and he sat at noon and at evening in the cane chairs of their club to read El
Debate, to have his shoes shined, and to drink vermouth and seltzer and eat roasted almonds,

South Sea Islanders Research Paper
A series of significant events in Australian history leading up to Federation in 1901 brought both
positive and negative changes. The two sides of this arch contrast the successes and failures involved
in making the nation of Australia. A collage showing scenes of racism towards the Chinese immigrants
and the poor treatment of the South Sea Islanders covers the back of the arch. The front of the arch is a
formal design, displaying a influential figure that helped shape the nation and also the emblems of six
colonies before federation took place.
South Sea Islanders
The back of the arch employs a collage, which represents the handling of the South Sea Island
workers and racial discrimination, an act that many white Australians engaged in. The series of
pictures are quite blurred, which shows the resemblance in memories of the South Sea Islanders. It
indicates that this part of Australian history is being forgotten and ignored. Bottom right hand of the
circle shows black birding (Source 33, Booklet, p.29), which illustrates Australians mistreating the
South Sea Islanders. The series of inappropriate actions shown can be considered as a failure in
making the nation of Australia. South Sea Islander descendant, Alf Corowa, whose words are included
as an inscription, recounted the treatment of his ancestors: when they came on the ship they grabbed
them and threw them down the hold (Source 32, Booklet, p.29) The South Sea Islanders were
kidnapped and were abused for cheap labour in Queensland, resulting in profit for white Australians

Nafta And The American Free Trade Agreement
On January 1st, 1994, Canada, the United States of America, and Mexico had signed a free trade
agreement, under the name the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA). This Free Trade
Agreement was created to achieve its goal of eliminating barriers to trade and investment between
Canada, Mexico and the United States of America. However, the question that politicians and
economists of our nation are facing is whether Canada should remain in NAFTA with its partners,
United States and Mexico. Despite a multitude of benefits that NAFTA is said to have by our political
elites, 20 years later, it is evident the agreement has been counterproductive; which is evident by the
slow move by Canadian manufacturers to Mexico, significant losses in ... Show more content on

By 1997, three years after the ratification of NAFTA, 47% of Canadian manufacturing plants that
existed in 1988, which accounted for 28% of the jobs in the economy, had closed. To add on, 350,000
manufacturing jobs from 2002 2008, were lost due to industrial plants moving to Mexico. This drastic
drop in factory/plant numbers can be attributed to the fact that companies put their bottom line first
moving facilities to Mexico because Mexican minimum wage is only $5.10 compared to a minimum
wage of $11.00 in Ontario. As a further incentive to relocate south, because of NAFTA, corporations
don t have to pay tariffs on products shipped back to domestic markets. Therefore, it is evident that
NAFTA has resulted in many industrial firms/plants moving to Mexico for cheaper labour, and the
impact of such actions has cost thousands of Canadians their jobs.
By joining this free trade agreement, Canada has been able to increase its trade with the US and
Mexico. Two decades after the implementation of NAFTA, total merchandise trade between Canada
and the US more than doubled at an annualized growth rate of 4.4%. During the same period, Canada
s merchandise exports to Mexico also increased almost seven fold, and its trade with Mexico equaled
$31 billion alone in the year 2012. Furthermore, a study completed by the Fraser Institute pointed out

Age has become a very important topic to be discussed as the world carries on. As people become
more knowledgeable and certain advancements in life occur, people are beginning to realize that there
indeed is a way to maximize your years and to have a meaningful life once one is old. Studying age
has become important in social behavior also. Each generation possesses its own definition and
witnessed some of the same events. Studies have come to regard generations, as familial so on the true
term for the different age groups is cohorts. Again, each cohort has a range of people in ... Show more

The major event that signifies how these people lived their lives begins with the stock market crash in
1929. These were pretty dark times in America. At that time, not only were woman s rights and
minority rights at the forefront of life, but also white men had seen their wealth in jeopardy. People
tend to compare the Great Recession of the current day to the Great Depression caused by the stock
market crash but it really does not compare. The quality of life in those times was barely scraping the
surface of what was to come. People literally starved, were homeless, and lost everything that they had
worked for. To match the atrocities of the financial of the American people, this cohort also seen the
events that lead to World War II. Japan s invasions of countries began in this era and Adolf Hitler
came to power in Germany. Though these times cost many American lives the effects on the economy
were actually positive. This is possibly when America first began to realize that it had the power to
pretty much do as it pleased. So on, America s world police mentality in general was amplified
because of this period in time. Many have analyzed this period in time as the consequences of abusing
the swing era. People in the swing era were careless with money and had complete confidence in
America as a whole and their lackadaisical ways left the Great Depression in its wake. (Kyvig, 2002)

Venus And Adonis, By Tiziano Vecellio And Dates
Venus of adonis was painted by Tiziano Vecellio and dates back to A.D 1400 1600. He was one of the
greatest italian renaissance painter and he was recognized as a great painter early in his life. He was a
master of the oil medium and a supreme colorist. Many of his paintings represent either religion,
antiquity and/or beauty. In his painting of Venus and Adonis it was inspired by a tale called Ovid s
Metamorphoses and therefore was called poetry in paint, also known as poesie (The MET). The
painting portrays the goddess Venus has fallen in love with Adonis. The goddess Venus is trying to

Principle of design is shown through the artist s use of various elements in his work of art. In this
painting balance, proportion, emphasis, variety, and unity are all exemplified. The balance is not to
even but leans more to the left. I believe it leans more to the left because there is more going on in that
area than on the right side. Proportion and emphasis is greatly shown through the goddess Venus and
her hunter Adonis because they stand out the most. Through the use of the brush, Titian represents
them as three dimensional. Titian painted Venus and Adonis because of the tale called Ovid s
Metamorphoses. Basically, the tale was about the goddess Venus getting struck by cupid and her
falling desperately in love with Adonis. Adonis, a hunter was leaving with his hunting dogs but the
goddess Venus does not want him leaving. She foresees the hunt will be dangerous for him and tries
very hard for Adonis not to leave. Titian grabbed the moment of the goddess Venus, giving of her
warning, and Adonis s death and basically painting the emotionally charged moment of Adonis s
departure for the hunt (Venice). The goddess Venus in this painting is portrayed as more of a frantic
women rather than a dignified feminine ideal. Also the role is sort of reversed and the goddess Venus
is portrayed more as masculine than feminine. Since she was struck by love so hard, she is depicted as
sort of an aggressive women in

The Matchmaker Analysis
The golden age of the big budget musical may remain lost to the annals of old Hollywood, some may
argue that classics will always be better than their reimagined counterparts, but this is hardly the case
in all circumstances. The 1969 big screen adaptation of Hello, Dolly! proves that sometimes the
original star power of a cast can be overridden decades later. The 2017 Broadway revival of Hello
Dolly! supports the idea that while people may become accustomed to hearing a song a certain way, a
new interpretation of the materials can lead to blockbuster success. Despite the glitter and grandeur of
the on screen film adaptation s costuming and set design, the 2017 iteration of the musical, based on
Thornton Wilder s play The Matchmaker, shows that big budgets and sweeping landscapes are not
needed; opting to go with garishly bright pastels and impeccable choreography to stir the imaginations
and win the hearts of millions of theatergoers.
Starring Barbra Streisand and Walter Matthau, the 1969 film certainly attempted to bring the star
power but hostility that developed between Walter Matthau and Barbra Streisand (TCM) turned into
anything but a love story when presented on the big screen. Both actors shared a mutual dislike that
caused a very clear disconnect onset, where Matthau refused to be in the same room as Streisand
unless they were filming (TCM). In front of the camera, Mathau comes across as a crass old
businessman who cares for no one but himself, while

Why Pursue Legal Education
Through the trajectory of my life, there have been many experiences that have contributed to my drive
to pursue a legal education and seek social justice. From my family, to my volunteer activities, to my
present employment; every single thing I have taken part in over the last 21 years has played a role in
my desire to study and practice law.
Last December, I received the most definitive phone call of my university career. I was selected
amongst a high number of applicants to be the Head of the Social Science Orientation Program. I had
committed countless hours to this program, my team, our charity initiatives, and my first year
mentees. I was now responsible for selecting, training, and leading 90 volunteers through the
execution of a successful orientation week, and first year, for 1,700 incoming students. Beyond my
designated role of implementing programming and managing a $20,000 budget, I had two crucial
obligations within this position. First, I was to build a team with strong leadership skills, to ensure that
the incoming class would receive adequate ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

University of Ottawa Faculty of Law can provide me with that chance. Ottawa s Law school shares
my passion for leadership and community engagement, as made evident through the variety of hands

At this time Iraq had to find money or it would not survive. The only source of money would be to sell
Iraq s oil at high prices or to get Kuwait s oil.
Kuwait was a major oil target for Iraq because it would give them major control over the world s oil
reserves and a large role in OPEC and its policies. Despite Kuwait s oil wealth it was already a
wealthy country. If it came down to it Kuwait could survive without its oil revenue because of all its
investments. In 1990 when the price of oil started dropping Iraq was in real trouble. At an OPEC
meeting in May 1990, Iraq stressed their anger about Kuwait s over production of oil. On Baghdad
Radio it was reported that Saddam Hussein stated that the continuing of over production of oil and its
effect on oil prices was a so called war on Iraq. Iran supported Iraq when they requested that the
minimum price of oil was set to $25 per barrel, which was $14 at the time. OPEC eventually agreed to
$21 per barrel of oil. After the agreement it was assumed that the Iraqi Kuwaiti dispute was over. But
that assumption was wrong.
There were disputes over the land boundaries and Kuwait s right to stay an independent state. The UK
granted Kuwait independence in 1961. The Iraqis felt that in 1871 when Kuwait became part of the
Ottoman providence it belonged to them when Iraq was created by joining the Ottoman providences of
Mosul, Baghdad and Basra. However, there were some

The Howard government s difficulty in rebuilding the relationship with Indonesia was partly due to
their megaphone diplomacy (Capling 2008: 613). Howard s rhetoric after election in 1997, moved
away from Labour s enthusiastic engagement with Asia, and towards a perception of an Australia less
interdependent with Asia, emphasizing Western liberal democratic ties (Jones and Benvenuti 2006:

foreign policy (Day 2015: 675). Yet, the burgeoning democracy following the fall of Suharto in 1999

Australia and Indonesia increased their joint military exercises to ten in 1998 1999, beofre they were
cancelled following the East Timor crisis (Singh 2002: 126). Also, clearly linked to the crisis, was the
16th September 1999 abrogation by the Indonesian government of the AMS (Commonwealth of
Australia 2000: 195). The October 2002 terrorist bombing attack in Bali, killing 202 people including
88 Australians was a turning point. Based on pragmatism and shared interest in combatting terrorism
the relationship reemerged when the Australian Federal Police and the Indonesian authorities
cooperated in investigation the incident (Day 2015: 676) Building close security relations became a
priority in light of the new terrorism threat, creating the successful Bali Process (Day 2015: 676).
2013 finally saw the return of military engagement to pre East Timor crisis heights (Robert and Hadir

However, the domestic sphere is vital to Australian policy and must be engaged to improve relations

In the case that the deceased was married, had children or both, their spouse and children can file for

Character Flaws Desna Character
With representation in television shows, it is often important that we, as an audience, find characters
to relate to, as well as give us stories or interests that we can relate to in order for them to be
considered a protagonist or as many would say the hero . Desna Sims, the main character of the hit TV
show Claws, captures this essence perfectly throughout the show through humor and various
situations that can often be relatable for some viewers. Through Desna s behaviors and endeavors, this
has allowed the public to perceive her meaning of perseverance on, what it really means to be a strong
woman in times of controversy through the life she has been chosen to portray for television audiences
everywhere. To fully characterize, Desna, as the main protagonist we must first understand what a
protagonist is. A protagonist is the first actor in a play; thence the principal actor or character, perhaps
one of the most prominent figures in a real situation (Cuddon 565). Moreover, being the protagonist is
about pursuing the main goal of the plot of the story. Desna is the epitome of this as she starts with

Demographic landscape
Overall, the population trends in the state of Florida exhibits a pronounced and exploding elderly
population. Demographic trends are otherwise roughly consistent with nation wide patterns. Those
trends include the nation s exponentially growing Hispanic population. Specific relevant
demographics trends include a shift from distinctly Cuban Baby Boomer populations , which
identified closely to Republican ideologies; to a younger Cuban generation that is more aligned with
Democratic ideologies. More notable patterns involve radical demographic shifts due to an
increasingly diminishing Millennial population.
The dynamically increasing cost of housing demonstrates possible correlations to the change (Vitner,
2016). This may be attributable to the current goal of many in the millennial population to acquire
home ownership. As such, The Miami/Fort Lauderdale/Pompano Beach metro area continues to shed
its millennial population at an alarming rate (Munzenrieder, 2016). Between 2007 and 2009, there was

The Three Types of Annoying Shoppers

Criminal Justice Policy Analysis
The assumption one may hold regarding policy making in criminal justice is that individuals are well
informed about conviction rates as well as arrests, which influences changes in the criminal justice
system. However, such assumption raises doubts on the severity of punishment. Further, perceived
probability of arrest is related to subsequent criminal behavior. Such an argument is based on the
belief that people with lower perceived probabilities of arrest are more likely to get involved in crime
during subsequent periods.

Hate Speech Should Be Banned Essay
In order to reduce the astonishing number of hate crimes in the United States, the Federal Government
should restrict hate speech, and the expressions of hateful ideas, in all its forms, in all places, both
public and private. However, it is imperative that hate speech be defined first. Contrary to some
opinions, it is possible to accurately define hate speech, because hate speech does not actually have
many elusive forms. Hate speech includes fighting words as defined in Chaplinsky vs. New
Hampshire, and words that incite violence or aggression towards a specific group based on sex, sexual
orientation, race, creed, or political orientation by the provision of information that is not valid against
all members of the group. The wording ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In order to resolve the issues of hate speech, one should address the necessary balance between
personal liberties and public safety. However, some restrictions must be placed on hate speech,
including the expression of hateful ideas. It is imperative that hate speech is limited in some cases,
such as those where it could pose a serious threat to the surrounding environment. The only way hate
speech can be controlled is with strict guidelines and probable hate speech situations left up to a case
by case basis.
The Federal Government should restrict hate speech on all college campuses. This is due to a variety
of reasons. Under the first point of analysis, one can observe that hate speech codes have a tendency to
foster a more tolerant environment by teaching a difference between right and wrong (Sommers 1).
Often times, college students do not realize the impact that their words may have on others (2). The
problem is rarely identified in primary and secondary schools, and it worsens as the students approach
the college level (1).
Additionally, the problem of morally confused college students can inhibit education. This is
especially true when words are integrated into speech that have a significant meaning to one person,
but not another (Dalton 2). For example, many people use the word nigger profusely. However, too
many of them do not realize that some words carry with them a history of malignant oppression (2).

A False Occurrence In The Underworld Research Paper
A STRANGE OCCURENCE IN THE UNDERWORLD In the underworld there is no anguish,
sadness or pain. But there is neither joy or expectation. Accordingly, these all appertain to the orb
above. Although the former living experience may be remembered here below, it is not done so as it
occured. Hence, in the underworld, all things that happened above are of equal value; that is, a murder
may be deemed but a friendly handshake to these that dwell below; and regardless of handshake or
murder, they are both of no importance now. No houses; no cities; no seasons or time of day. But
people, they are numberless. However, they seem few, because the space between is vast, if not

Comparison Between 20 Key Arguments For And Against Abortion
Abortion is a concept that has been widely debated for years according to Roe V. Wade Turns 40, But
Abortion Debate Is Even Older , it is a argument that has been going on since the 1950 s , but the big
question is will the debate of whether abortion is pro choice or murder ever truly be over ?

Abortion Be Legal uses a lot of surveys from universities and medical centers to back up there point
of view on why abortion is pro choice. The pro life argument uses surveys from the same sources but

Dumb Blonde Stereotypes
Lastly, one of the most common or everyday recurring stereotypes around the world is a woman s
delicateness and feebleness. The generic vulnerability of women has become a seemingly meaningless
attribute to our society, spurring jokes and objects of ridicule. Being seen as feminine is still an issue
in our society. To many it is belittling and insulting to be called feminine, which enforces the
stereotype even more if you already are a female (Greenwood, Ambivalent Sexism and the Dumb
Blonde). One of the most common sexist jokes involves the stereotype of the dumb blonde .
Characteristics of this joke include the stigma of a blonde s stupidity and inability to comprehend
simple subjects. This stereotype of the dumb blonde is more detrimental

Analysis Of Ezekiel s The Book Of Ezekiel
The Book of Ezekiel contains three different sections in which all three address a subject matter. There
s almost nothing mentioned about Ezekiel in the book, his name is only mentioned twice surprisingly.
Ezekiel was one of the more youthful men taken to Babylon in the first captivity, which happened in
597 B.C. In spite of the fact that Ezekiel existed amid a period when the Babylonians consistently
crushed Israel his confidence stayed solid with one God, Yahweh. Not at all like Ezekiel, countless
Israelites in the midst of this time had faith in more than just one god. Yahweh did not agree with this
in light of the way that the Israelites went into a concurrence with him. This vow suggested that they
couldn t continue admiring different icons, for on the off chance that they did Yahweh would radiate
his fury upon them. Ezekiel understood this and he knew that this was the reason why they were being
punished. Yahweh utilizes Ezekiel to transfer this message to his kin and reveal to them the discipline
that they will need to uncover due to their wrongdoings.
The book opens with a record of the vision that summoned Ezekiel to his prophetic calling. In his
vision he saw a human like creature with four faces and four wings, and above these creatures was a
dome that looked like a throne. On that throne was a human like figure that resembles the power of
God. Ezekiel portrays his vision as a complex picture that symbolizes the magnificence of Yahweh
and broadcasts Yahweh s

What I will cover in this article is the 9 biggest obstacles that will get in your way. I will take each one

Fourth Grade Social Studies Standards
Fourth grade Social Studies Standards Educational standards are set in place to give teachers a guide
as to what students should be taught and helped to learn and understand. Standards have been
developed for each state so that students across the United States of America can be close to the same
goals and somewhat on the same level as to the type of information that is supposed to be presented to
students. Social Studies does not seem to be big on the list of things to teach because such strong
emphasis has been placed on Math and reading because of state mandated testing that occurs several
times throughout the year. It is mandatory that Social Studies be included into the educational
curriculum but the time placed on the actual subject is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Classes could hold mock voting stations to help students get a better understanding of the type of
things that take place in the real world when it comes time to placing certain people in office from our
local communities, all the way to the White House in voting for the president of the United States.
Social Studies does not have to be a boring subject like I remember. It can be exciting and memorable
but you have to make sure you know the information you are about to present so that the students can
pick up on the excitement and run with it. Presentation is very important and with the standards listed,
there is room for excitement because the standards are thorough, clear, adaptable and flexible so that
the teacher can add to their prepared lessons to get their points of interest across. Social Studies help
us understand how we are connected and relate to people in our environment. It helps students use
critical thinking skills that will help them understand their relationship with the world around them.
The standards for Arizona covers the places and regions, human and physical systems, environment
and society*. All of these work together to help students understand the different things that they must
know about to help them become better citizens to their local states and cities as well as better citizens

Dramatic Irony In Oedipus Rex By Sophocles
Dramatic Irony in Oedipus Rex Dramatic irony is one of the things that make plays successful. Its role
in this play makes a big difference. In Oedipus Rex by Sophocles, dramatic irony in this play is very
effective in not only revealing to us more about Oedipus and his characteristics, but also building
suspense because the audience know many things that the characters do not. Through the scenes of
Oedipus cursing the unknown murderer, the messenger telling about Polybus, and Jocasta talking
about Laius to Oedipus, we can see this dramatic irony and the significance of it. The scene in which
Oedipus curses the unknown murderer who, according to Creon who heard from Apollo, causes the
plague to occur in the kingdom is a good example of dramatic irony. He says as part of his curse not to
let the murderer join in sacrifice, lustration, or in prayer (225 226). Then he says, I pray that that man s
life be consumed in evil / and wretchedness. / And as for me, this curse applies no less (233 235). The
dramatic irony is that the audience knows that the murderer he is cursing is Oedipus himself. The
significance this dramatic irony in this scene has to the rest of the play is that it makes the audience
start to engage in the play. This scene makes the reader wonder how events in the play will turn out
because of Oedipus being blind to his own life. It introduces Oedipus as the character he is known as
and this scene is one of the first moments of dramatic irony in the play. Not only is dramatic irony
shown through the unknown murderer cursing scene with Oedipus, but also when the messenger from
Corinth comes to Thebes to tell Jocasta and Oedipus about Polybus death. The messenger says that
Polybus, Oedipus presumed father, died from sickness and old age. This causes Oedipus to feel relief
from the prophecy of the gods that is proclaimed over him, which was that Oedipus would kill his
father and sleep with his mother. Oedipus says after the messenger brings him the news, No. Polybus /
Has packed the oracles off with him underground. / They are empty words (922 924). Dramatic irony
is shown because Oedipus still believes that Polybus is his blood father. Jocasta reaffirms Oedipus
belief by saying, Had I

Advantages Of Being A Group Member
When it comes to team work, there are only two working positions to choose whether to be group
member or to be a team leader. Some people are content with their subordinate position while others
would like to strive for a leading position in a team. Less responsibility and more freedom can result
in the choice of being a group member. From my perspective, however, the advantages of being a
leader outweigh the advantages of being a group member because a leader not only has the strongest
voice in the team but also have more access to all kinds of resources and can gain more respect and
admiration.
First of all, a leader holds a dominant position and have the strongest voice on decision. As a group
member, he is free to express his point of view and raise any objections. However, as a leader, the core
of the team, not only does he feel free to express his opinion, but also he is authorized to make the
final decision based on the ideas of the group members. Yet, the first thing is ... Show more content on

Content (32%): First of all, the article is filled with substantial content. In this first paragraph, I list
two working positions to discuss people s different choices so as to lead to my viewpoint that there are
more advantages to be a leader. As for the body paragraphs, there are three parts discussing the
advantages of being a leader separately and specifically. The first body paragraph indicates that a
leader has the right to make an important decision by comparing different positions that a leader and a
group member take. Also, that Steve Jobs made a decisive decision to equip new iPhone with a
touchscreen is given as an example to enrich my content. The second part analyzes how someone
benefits from being a leader from many aspects, such as the ability to weigh, better skills to
communicate and the access to fortune. I take the success of Jack Ma to support my argument. The
last point is that leader can gain more respect due to his weight, supported by another specific

The Airport Security Of Aviation
Charlotte s International Airport is currently ranked as the fifth busiest airport in the USA
in terms of the takeoffs as well as landings. The airport improved in ranking by one spot in both
international and national rankings recording with an average of 544,944 takeoffs and landings in

connecting and reconnecting with friends and families.
The current rise in the market demand for aviation services around the world demands
analysis of airport demand among passengers regarding the current capacity of the airports.
Therefore, it is through proper planning of future and current airport amenities that the airports
will provide adequate strengths to support the growing demand for the services of aviation
(Paylor, 2015). The future of aviation is, therefore, oblique considering the evolution of
upcoming airport facilities and infrastructure, which are factors, deliberated when defining

as the runways apron space, taxiway, utilities as well as terminal buildings. Furthermore, demand

Gran Torino is a film full of symbols of hope and redemption. Discuss.
In his film Gran Torino , Clint Eastwood tells the story of an unlikely relationship between Korean
War veteran Walt Kowalski and his Hmong neighbours Thao and Sue. The film explores the
possibility of redemption, second chances , and the hope that comes from having a positive future.
Both Walt and Thao experience redemption in the film. Walt is saved from the guilt of murder and

For example, Kennedy the construction supervisor asks Walt when he can have the keys to his Gran
Torino, and looks down on Thao for getting a lift. Without a car, Thao is dependent and still a boy.
When Walt lends him the Gran Torino to take Youa on a date, he is giving Thao independence and the
possibility of a girlfriend. Furthermore, the Gran Torino represents being a genuine American man.
Walt built the car when he worked for Ford, and despises the Jap burners that his son Mitch drives
around in and sells. Likewise, Spider (an anti citizen ) drives a white Honda in every scene he appears
in, except the last one. When Walt leaves the Gran Torino to Thao in his will, he is giving him more
than a car. He is giving him a reward for work, a source of prestige, independence, and an American
identity. The closing scene of the film shows Thao driving the car down an esplanade, a young man
with a future, and hope.
To Walt, the reason he got his medal of valour wasn t for a good reason. It was because he shot a
Korean. After the war, Walts was left broken and scarred and especially after Dorothys death, Walt had
many issues he needed to solve. Fr suggested he should do a confession and that it would help to heal
him. You never really hear about the medal much but at the end of the film when Walt does a
confession, even though it wasn t the confession Fr was expecting, Walt has been healed. He sees what

Bullying Is A Growing Epidemic
Bullying is a growing epidemic in today s society and has become a pressing social and educational
concern. It is often dismissed as typical adolescent behavior but ignoring the problem could be
detrimental to the bully, the person being bullied, and even those who stand by witnessing the unkind
acts but do nothing about it. Bullying can hinder academic, social, and emotional development and
because it manifests in different forms, it is important to recognize the signs and address it with all
parities immediately.
Horton (2011) defines bullying as a group s collective aggressiveness towards an individual or group
of individuals who provoke or attract this aggressiveness (p. 268). According to Brank, Hoetger, and
Hazen (2012) there are four main types of bullying: physical, verbal, relational (or social), and cyber
bullying. Physical bullying is characterized by acts of aggression such as punching or hitting. Verbal
bullying is characterized by name calling or teasing. Deliberately leaving someone out of activities
and/or starting rumors characterizes relational or social bullying. Cyber bullying utilizes technology
such as texts, email, or social media to express aggression toward others (p. 214). Regardless of the
form of bullying, a common thread amongst them is there is a power imbalance between the bully and
the person being bullied. Being able to physically or verbally hurt others, being more confident,
having superior manipulative or social skills, and

questions are asked in retrospect. This retrospective analysis is a very scientific and alienating way of
approaching myth a cultural component who s roots are planted in a deeply social and emotional

methodologies and practices to explain exactly how one needs to approach the study of myth thats

Right away this assertion distances Malinowski and the culture he belongs to from myth. His method
of studying myth is more complex than Rooth s. Rooth s paper presents and breaks down all variations
of the creation myth in North America. After laying out the eight different types of the creation myth,
Rooth concludes, myth has geographical boundaries . Malinowski tries to justify his claim that myth
can help us understand the behaviors and customs of the people who tell them. Right at the beginning
of his essay he makes a comparison that puts forth the idea that when a society becomes civilized and
more developed, religion usurps mythology: this myth is to the savage what, to a fully believing
Christian, is the Biblical story of Creation... (Malinowski). Malinowski refers to primitive cultures as
savage because they think about myth in religious terms. He tries to separate from mythology by
calling myth a pragmatic charter and by dwelling mentally for sometime among people of much
simpler culture than our own, we maybe able to see ourselves from a distance (Malinowski). Calling
myth charter he imposes the socioeconomic concerns of Europe at the time on primitive myth and
implies that it can only exist to validate custom and institution myth for Malinowski will always state

Chattel Slavery Essay
The Origins of Chattel Slavery in Colonial North America
There have been many illuminating studies in the field of the origins of chattel slavery in Colonial
North America. Alpert, 1970; Edmondson, 1976; Jordan, 1962: Ruchames, 1967; Starr, 1973, wrote
seminal studies that did much to bring insight to the subject. Goetz, 2009; Mason, 2006; Smaje, 2002;
Neeganagwedgin, 2012, presented evidence that have either reexamined old questions or used new
methods and approaches to ask news questions to add insight to this topic. However, little has been

However, I disagree with Jordan that it was an unthinking decision, it seems naïve to discount
connections between legal statutes and a socially desired goal. Parent s assertion that laws were placed
strategically to subjugate and eventually perpetually enslave seems reasonable. Thus obligatorily
prejudice and feelings of superiority had to exist prior to the active pursuit of subjugation. It seems
immaterial whether institutionalized slavery began immediately or later, because the action of
acquiring a person for sale or servitude requires an establishment of superiority and inferiority. This
dynamic had to exist from slavery s beginning.
The economic argument, that it was vital for the establishment and maintenance of the nation,
contributed, but if the essential element of moral justification did not exist, it is doubtful that it could
have resulted in perpetual, inherited slavery. Legal implementation of slavery was simply a tool to
control slavery s development, and subjugate indigenous people and black slaves. Smaje s assertion
that Political associations also had impact has merit. The evidence for this is that it would have been
more effective, efficient and economically beneficial to enslave either Indians or indentured servants
or both, but they did neither. Why? Because these people had agency either through associations in
Britain or the means to resist or

Drug Trafficking And Its Effects On America
In regard to Latin America, this area is a crucial geographical zone for drug trafficking and production.
Due to the location, the drug trade has found its perfect home, vast mountains and forests enable huge
farms to produce and ship drugs to any region they want. Whether it is Colombia, Peru or one of the
many countries found to be in this vast collection of drug trafficking, it is apparent that they all share
similar geographies that allow the trade to continue. As a result of this, countries in this region have
been subjugated to many imperialistic like efforts to eradicate this growing issue, regardless of
involvement. Through the use of diplomacy and past military intervention, the U.S. and other
countries have tried to keep a grip on the ever growing drug ring surrounding this area. Unfortunately,
it has become evident that the effort given by the U.S. is not enough to combat this ever growing and
secure market. Drug trafficking first started to show itself in Latin America during the years from the
1960s to 1970s, when the use of drugs began to become more popular throughout the youth of this
period ( Crandal ). During this time, the people in these exporting countries started to see a large
growth in the revenues brought upon by the trafficking, and rural communities began to supply more
and more drugs, beginning with Marijuana, but eventually becoming a much larger exporter of
cocaine( Drug Trafficking ). Cocaine began to seem like the perfect drug to traffic

  • 2. The Extinction Of The Endangered Species Act Since earth was created, there has been a natural phenomenon of species across the globe appearing and disappearing. However, in the past century, many species of animals have been disappearing at an alarming rate. Mainly, this rapidly occurring issue is caused by humans. Humans that contribute to the harmful actions that cause side effects such a pollution, deforestation, habitat loss and poaching. The natural rate of extinction pales in comparison to the extinction rate caused by all of these. According to the World Wildlife Fund, the current rate of extinction is 11,000 times greater than the natural extinction rate. Several different efforts have been made in order to stop or slow down the extinction of earth s species. The Endangered Species Act is possibly the most successful example of these efforts. It s main purpose is to get a commitment from the American people that they will work hand in hand to help save species that are at risk of becoming extinct and never returning. This act was put in place in 1973 and since then, no other law about the disappearance of wildlife has been quite as accomplished. Many different species that are protected under this law are either fully recovered or on their way to becoming safer. Laws like these are helping many different creatures left and right, however, at the alarming rate that they are disappearing, something else needs to be done. What people don t seem to realize is that we depend on many of the animals that we are ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. British Influence in Canadian Government Canada s Relationship with Britain British influence on Canadian government Many of the political pressures in Canada today have their roots in the way the country was shaped politically over 150 years ago. How we do things now is based on institutions of government that go back even further. Eugene A. Forsey, until his death considered the foremost expert on the Canadian Constitution, wrote in how Canadians govern themselves: it is necessary to understand that our written Constitution, unlike the American, is not a single document. It is a collection of 24 documents: 13 acts of the British Parliament, seven of the Canadian, and four British orders in council. Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II published that booklet in conjunction with the signing of the Canada Act. In addition to providing the Charter of Rights, The Canada Act did several things. Forsey wrote: Under the terms of the Canada Act, the Constitution Act, 1982 was proclaimed in Canada.... Under the Constitution Act, 1982, the British North America Act and its various amendments (1871, 1886, 1907, 1915, 1930, 1940, 1960, 1964, 1965, 1974, 1975) became the Constitution Acts, 1867 1975. More important, it made four big changes in our Constitution. First, it established four legal formulas or processes for amending the Constitution.... The second big change made by the Constitution Act, 1982, is that the first three amending formulas entrench certain parts of the written Constitution; that is, place ... • 4. Analysis Of For Whom The Bell Toll By John Donne The introduction to For Whom The Bell Tolls is a poem by John Donne, of which the last line says any mans death diminishes me, because I am involved in Mankinde; And therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; It tolls for thee (Hemingway 3). This line encapsulates the theme of the novel and defines the novel s meaning. Robert Jordan the main character of the novel arrives in Spain as a volunteer, ready to fight and give his life for other people s freedom and right to self determination. One of the reasons why this novel was so enjoyable was its focus on the individual and intense discussions about life and death and morality of killing for and idea. However, the reader can not help identifying with Jordan, as he plans his own future despite subconsciously understanding his fate. For Whom The Bell Tolls takes place during the Spanish Civil War, during a time period when political divisions, between the right and Nd left were at all time highs around the world. The novel discusses an execution of the fascists in one of the main character, Pillar s, town, and she describes how political beliefs became enough to kill someone for. Don Guillermo was a fascist but otherwise there was nothing against him... He had a rude way of speaking and he was undoubtedly a fascist and a member of their club and he sat at noon and at evening in the cane chairs of their club to read El Debate, to have his shoes shined, and to drink vermouth and seltzer and eat roasted almonds, ... • 5. South Sea Islanders Research Paper A series of significant events in Australian history leading up to Federation in 1901 brought both positive and negative changes. The two sides of this arch contrast the successes and failures involved in making the nation of Australia. A collage showing scenes of racism towards the Chinese immigrants and the poor treatment of the South Sea Islanders covers the back of the arch. The front of the arch is a formal design, displaying a influential figure that helped shape the nation and also the emblems of six colonies before federation took place. South Sea Islanders The back of the arch employs a collage, which represents the handling of the South Sea Island workers and racial discrimination, an act that many white Australians engaged in. The series of pictures are quite blurred, which shows the resemblance in memories of the South Sea Islanders. It indicates that this part of Australian history is being forgotten and ignored. Bottom right hand of the circle shows black birding (Source 33, Booklet, p.29), which illustrates Australians mistreating the South Sea Islanders. The series of inappropriate actions shown can be considered as a failure in making the nation of Australia. South Sea Islander descendant, Alf Corowa, whose words are included as an inscription, recounted the treatment of his ancestors: when they came on the ship they grabbed them and threw them down the hold (Source 32, Booklet, p.29) The South Sea Islanders were kidnapped and were abused for cheap labour in Queensland, resulting in profit for white Australians made from the work of the Islanders and racism ... • 6. Nafta And The American Free Trade Agreement On January 1st, 1994, Canada, the United States of America, and Mexico had signed a free trade agreement, under the name the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA). This Free Trade Agreement was created to achieve its goal of eliminating barriers to trade and investment between Canada, Mexico and the United States of America. However, the question that politicians and economists of our nation are facing is whether Canada should remain in NAFTA with its partners, United States and Mexico. Despite a multitude of benefits that NAFTA is said to have by our political elites, 20 years later, it is evident the agreement has been counterproductive; which is evident by the slow move by Canadian manufacturers to Mexico, significant losses in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... By 1997, three years after the ratification of NAFTA, 47% of Canadian manufacturing plants that existed in 1988, which accounted for 28% of the jobs in the economy, had closed. To add on, 350,000 manufacturing jobs from 2002 2008, were lost due to industrial plants moving to Mexico. This drastic drop in factory/plant numbers can be attributed to the fact that companies put their bottom line first moving facilities to Mexico because Mexican minimum wage is only $5.10 compared to a minimum wage of $11.00 in Ontario. As a further incentive to relocate south, because of NAFTA, corporations don t have to pay tariffs on products shipped back to domestic markets. Therefore, it is evident that NAFTA has resulted in many industrial firms/plants moving to Mexico for cheaper labour, and the impact of such actions has cost thousands of Canadians their jobs. By joining this free trade agreement, Canada has been able to increase its trade with the US and Mexico. Two decades after the implementation of NAFTA, total merchandise trade between Canada and the US more than doubled at an annualized growth rate of 4.4%. During the same period, Canada s merchandise exports to Mexico also increased almost seven fold, and its trade with Mexico equaled $31 billion alone in the year 2012. Dokurugu Mondays 5:45 8:15 PM Age has become a very important topic to be discussed as the world carries on. As people become more knowledgeable and certain advancements in life occur, people are beginning to realize that there indeed is a way to maximize your years and to have a meaningful life once one is old. Studying age has become important in social behavior also. Each generation possesses its own definition and witnessed some of the same events. Studies have come to regard generations, as familial so on the true term for the different age groups is cohorts. Again, each cohort has a range of people in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The major event that signifies how these people lived their lives begins with the stock market crash in 1929. These were pretty dark times in America. At that time, not only were woman s rights and minority rights at the forefront of life, but also white men had seen their wealth in jeopardy. People tend to compare the Great Recession of the current day to the Great Depression caused by the stock market crash but it really does not compare. The quality of life in those times was barely scraping the surface of what was to come. People literally starved, were homeless, and lost everything that they had worked for. To match the atrocities of the financial of the American people, this cohort also seen the events that lead to World War II. Japan s invasions of countries began in this era and Adolf Hitler came to power in Germany. Though these times cost many American lives the effects on the economy were actually positive. This is possibly when America first began to realize that it had the power to pretty much do as it pleased. So on, America s world police mentality in general was amplified because of this period in time. Many have analyzed this period in time as the consequences of abusing the swing era. People in the swing era were careless with money and had complete confidence in America as a whole and their lackadaisical ways left the Great Depression in its wake. • 8. Venus And Adonis, By Tiziano Vecellio And Dates Venus of adonis was painted by Tiziano Vecellio and dates back to A.D 1400 1600. He was one of the greatest italian renaissance painter and he was recognized as a great painter early in his life. He was a master of the oil medium and a supreme colorist. Many of his paintings represent either religion, antiquity and/or beauty. In his painting of Venus and Adonis it was inspired by a tale called Ovid s Metamorphoses and therefore was called poetry in paint, also known as poesie (The MET). The painting portrays the goddess Venus has fallen in love with Adonis. The goddess Venus is trying to hold back Adonis because she does not want him leaving, since he is a hunter. Principle of design is shown through the artist s use of various elements in his work of art. In this painting balance, proportion, emphasis, variety, and unity are all exemplified. The balance is not to even but leans more to the left. I believe it leans more to the left because there is more going on in that area than on the right side. Proportion and emphasis is greatly shown through the goddess Venus and her hunter Adonis because they stand out the most. Through the use of the brush, Titian represents them as three dimensional. Titian painted Venus and Adonis because of the tale called Ovid s Metamorphoses. Basically, the tale was about the goddess Venus getting struck by cupid and her falling desperately in love with Adonis. Adonis, a hunter was leaving with his hunting dogs but the goddess Venus does not want him leaving. She foresees the hunt will be dangerous for him and tries very hard for Adonis not to leave. Titian grabbed the moment of the goddess Venus, giving of her warning, and Adonis s death and basically painting the emotionally charged moment of Adonis s departure for the hunt (Venice). The goddess Venus in this painting is portrayed as more of a frantic women rather than a dignified feminine ideal. Also the role is sort of reversed and the goddess Venus is portrayed more as masculine than feminine. Since she was struck by love so hard, she is depicted as sort of an aggressive women in ... • 9. The Matchmaker Analysis The golden age of the big budget musical may remain lost to the annals of old Hollywood, some may argue that classics will always be better than their reimagined counterparts, but this is hardly the case in all circumstances. The 1969 big screen adaptation of Hello, Dolly! proves that sometimes the original star power of a cast can be overridden decades later. The 2017 Broadway revival of Hello Dolly! supports the idea that while people may become accustomed to hearing a song a certain way, a new interpretation of the materials can lead to blockbuster success. Despite the glitter and grandeur of the on screen film adaptation s costuming and set design, the 2017 iteration of the musical, based on Thornton Wilder s play The Matchmaker, shows that big budgets and sweeping landscapes are not needed; opting to go with garishly bright pastels and impeccable choreography to stir the imaginations and win the hearts of millions of theatergoers. Starring Barbra Streisand and Walter Matthau, the 1969 film certainly attempted to bring the star power but hostility that developed between Walter Matthau and Barbra Streisand (TCM) turned into anything but a love story when presented on the big screen. Both actors shared a mutual dislike that caused a very clear disconnect onset, where Matthau refused to be in the same room as Streisand unless they were filming (TCM). Despite Kuwait s oil wealth it was already a wealthy country. If it came down to it Kuwait could survive without its oil revenue because of all its investments. In 1990 when the price of oil started dropping Iraq was in real trouble. At an OPEC meeting in May 1990, Iraq stressed their anger about Kuwait s over production of oil. The only way hate speech can be controlled is with strict guidelines and probable hate speech situations left up to a case by case basis. The Federal Government should restrict hate speech on all college campuses. This is due to a variety of reasons. Under the first point of analysis, one can observe that hate speech codes have a tendency to foster a more tolerant environment by teaching a difference between right and wrong (Sommers 1). Often times, college students do not realize the impact that their words may have on others (2). The problem is rarely identified in primary and secondary schools, and it worsens as the students approach the college level (1). There s almost nothing mentioned about Ezekiel in the book, his name is only mentioned twice surprisingly. Ezekiel was one of the more youthful men taken to Babylon in the first captivity, which happened in 597 B.C. In spite of the fact that Ezekiel existed amid a period when the Babylonians consistently crushed Israel his confidence stayed solid with one God, Yahweh. Not at all like Ezekiel, countless Israelites in the midst of this time had faith in more than just one god. Yahweh did not agree with this in light of the way that the Israelites went into a concurrence with him. This vow suggested that they couldn t continue admiring different icons, for on the off chance that they did Yahweh would radiate his fury upon them. Ezekiel understood this and he knew that this was the reason why they were being punished. Yahweh utilizes Ezekiel to transfer this message to his kin and reveal to them the discipline that they will need to uncover due to their wrongdoings. The book opens with a record of the vision that summoned Ezekiel to his prophetic calling. In his vision he saw a human like creature with four faces and four wings, and above these creatures was a dome that looked like a throne. • 29. Dramatic Irony In Oedipus Rex By Sophocles Dramatic Irony in Oedipus Rex Dramatic irony is one of the things that make plays successful. Its role in this play makes a big difference. In Oedipus Rex by Sophocles, dramatic irony in this play is very effective in not only revealing to us more about Oedipus and his characteristics, but also building suspense because the audience know many things that the characters do not. Through the scenes of Oedipus cursing the unknown murderer, the messenger telling about Polybus, and Jocasta talking about Laius to Oedipus, we can see this dramatic irony and the significance of it. The scene in which Oedipus curses the unknown murderer who, according to Creon who heard from Apollo, causes the plague to occur in the kingdom is a good example of dramatic irony. He says as part of his curse not to let the murderer join in sacrifice, lustration, or in prayer (225 226). Then he says, I pray that that man s life be consumed in evil / and wretchedness. / And as for me, this curse applies no less (233 235). The dramatic irony is that the audience knows that the murderer he is cursing is Oedipus himself. The significance this dramatic irony in this scene has to the rest of the play is that it makes the audience start to engage in the play. This scene makes the reader wonder how events in the play will turn out because of Oedipus being blind to his own life. It introduces Oedipus as the character he is known as and this scene is one of the first moments of dramatic irony in the play. Not only is dramatic irony shown through the unknown murderer cursing scene with Oedipus, but also when the messenger from Corinth comes to Thebes to tell Jocasta and Oedipus about Polybus death. The messenger says that Polybus, Oedipus presumed father, died from sickness and old age. This causes Oedipus to feel relief from the prophecy of the gods that is proclaimed over him, which was that Oedipus would kill his father and sleep with his mother. Oedipus says after the messenger brings him the news, No. Polybus / Has packed the oracles off with him underground. / They are empty words (922 924). Dramatic irony is shown because Oedipus still believes that Polybus is his blood father. Jocasta reaffirms Oedipus belief by saying, Had I ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The first body paragraph indicates that a leader has the right to make an important decision by comparing different positions that a leader and a group member take. It is often dismissed as typical adolescent behavior but ignoring the problem could be detrimental to the bully, the person being bullied, and even those who stand by witnessing the unkind acts but do nothing about it. Bullying can hinder academic, social, and emotional development and because it manifests in different forms, it is important to recognize the signs and address it with all parities immediately. Horton (2011) defines bullying as a group s collective aggressiveness towards an individual or group of individuals who provoke or attract this aggressiveness (p. 268). According to Brank, Hoetger, and Hazen (2012) there are four main types of bullying: physical, verbal, relational (or social), and cyber bullying. Physical bullying is characterized by acts of aggression such as punching or hitting. Verbal bullying is characterized by name calling or teasing. Deliberately leaving someone out of activities and/or starting rumors characterizes relational or social bullying. Cyber bullying utilizes technology such as texts, email, or social media to express aggression toward others (p. 214). • 36. Retrospective Analysis Anthropology Anthropological analyses always starts with a question, and, in regards to Mythology, majority of the questions are asked in retrospect. This retrospective analysis is a very scientific and alienating way of approaching myth a cultural component who s roots are planted in a deeply social and emotional practices. Years of inquiry and speculation have resulted in anthropologists coming up with numerous methodologies and practices to explain exactly how one needs to approach the study of myth thats best reveals its function. Most of the methods are broken down and explained in a series of steps, much like a lab experiment as if the only way for anthropologists to write about cultural phenomena is to abstract themselves from myth s present ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Right away this assertion distances Malinowski and the culture he belongs to from myth. His method of studying myth is more complex than Rooth s. Rooth s paper presents and breaks down all variations of the creation myth in North America. After laying out the eight different types of the creation myth, Rooth concludes, myth has geographical boundaries . Malinowski tries to justify his claim that myth can help us understand the behaviors and customs of the people who tell them. Right at the beginning of his essay he makes a comparison that puts forth the idea that when a society becomes civilized and more developed, religion usurps mythology: this myth is to the savage what, to a fully believing Christian, is the Biblical story of Creation... (Malinowski). Malinowski refers to primitive cultures as savage because they think about myth in religious terms. He tries to separate from mythology by calling myth a pragmatic charter and by dwelling mentally for sometime among people of much simpler culture than our own, we maybe able to see ourselves from a distance (Malinowski). Calling myth charter he imposes the socioeconomic concerns of Europe at the time on primitive myth and implies that it can only exist to validate custom and institution myth for Malinowski will always state a ... • 38. Chattel Slavery Essay The Origins of Chattel Slavery in Colonial North America There have been many illuminating studies in the field of the origins of chattel slavery in Colonial North America. Alpert, 1970; Edmondson, 1976; Jordan, 1962: Ruchames, 1967; Starr, 1973, wrote seminal studies that did much to bring insight to the subject. Goetz, 2009; Mason, 2006; Smaje, 2002; Neeganagwedgin, 2012, presented evidence that have either reexamined old questions or used new methods and approaches to ask news questions to add insight to this topic. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, I disagree with Jordan that it was an unthinking decision, it seems naïve to discount connections between legal statutes and a socially desired goal. Parent s assertion that laws were placed strategically to subjugate and eventually perpetually enslave seems reasonable. Thus obligatorily prejudice and feelings of superiority had to exist prior to the active pursuit of subjugation. It seems immaterial whether institutionalized slavery began immediately or later, because the action of acquiring a person for sale or servitude requires an establishment of superiority and inferiority. This dynamic had to exist from slavery s beginning. The economic argument, that it was vital for the establishment and maintenance of the nation, contributed, but if the essential element of moral justification did not exist, it is doubtful that it could have resulted in perpetual, inherited slavery. Legal implementation of slavery was simply a tool to control slavery s development, and subjugate indigenous people and black slaves. Smaje s assertion that Political associations also had impact has merit. The evidence for this is that it would have been more effective, efficient and economically beneficial to enslave either Indians or indentured servants or both, but they did neither. Why? Because these people had agency either through associations in Britain or the means to resist or ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Due to the location, the drug trade has found its perfect home, vast mountains and forests enable huge farms to produce and ship drugs to any region they want. Whether it is Colombia, Peru or one of the many countries found to be in this vast collection of drug trafficking, it is apparent that they all share similar geographies that allow the trade to continue. As a result of this, countries in this region have been subjugated to many imperialistic like efforts to eradicate this growing issue, regardless of involvement. Through the use of diplomacy and past military intervention, the U.S. and other countries have tried to keep a grip on the ever growing drug ring surrounding this area. Unfortunately, it has become evident that the effort given by the U.S. is not enough to combat this ever growing and secure market. Drug trafficking first started to show itself in Latin America during the years from the 1960s to 1970s, when the use of drugs began to become more popular throughout the youth of this period ( Crandal ). During this time, the people in these exporting countries started to see a large growth in the revenues brought upon by the trafficking, and rural communities began to supply more and more drugs, beginning with Marijuana, but eventually becoming a much larger exporter of cocaine( Drug Trafficking ).
