 To estimate normative productivity of shovel-
dumper combination with different material
characteristic and different equipment
combination.
 To validate the normative productivity with the
actual productivity of similar equipment
combination in certain selected coal mine.
 To analyse the reasons for variation between
normal and actual productivity in different cases.
 To give suggestion for improvement in the
productivity of shovel dumper system.
 The study was conducted for sonepur bazari of ECL
considering the actual performance data of 2011-
12 for Shovel-Dumper operation.
 The project deploys both departmental and hired
equipments. The study was only conducted for
departmental equipment(Shovel-Dumper).
 The productivity of shovel dumper considered in
approved project report of sonepur bazari
OCP(3.4mt capacity) was compared with the actual
shovel-Dumper productivity obtained in the mine.

Analysing shovel dumper productivity for coal mine

  • 3.  To estimate normative productivity of shovel- dumper combination with different material characteristic and different equipment combination.  To validate the normative productivity with the actual productivity of similar equipment combination in certain selected coal mine.  To analyse the reasons for variation between normal and actual productivity in different cases.  To give suggestion for improvement in the productivity of shovel dumper system.
  • 4.  The study was conducted for sonepur bazari of ECL considering the actual performance data of 2011- 12 for Shovel-Dumper operation.  The project deploys both departmental and hired equipments. The study was only conducted for departmental equipment(Shovel-Dumper).  The productivity of shovel dumper considered in approved project report of sonepur bazari OCP(3.4mt capacity) was compared with the actual shovel-Dumper productivity obtained in the mine.

Dumper Analysis:- (A)Extra Dumper (B)Haulage road –High gradient than 1in16 -Not paved -Slushy due to rain and alluvium layer.
  • 29.  System factor should not be lower than 0.85.  Dumper factor should be equal to1.  Separate equipments to be used for COAL/OB.  Hot seat change to be implemented.  Maintenance to be outsourced to the company.  Haulage road consideration.  Blasting should be in big rounds.  Miscellaneous issues (like land, explosive, power)should be resolved.
