Hi there everyone! I m Cinderella but most people called me Ella or Cinder. Right now I m just

me because lately I ve been feeling really bad because people are always praising me that I m so

but our personalities are completely different. I m really nice, loved to talk, little spoiled of course I m
spoiled we re rich. Cinder is rude, mean, and she doesn t want to help or do anything. My two step
sister were also twins and 2 years older than me. My dad was always out on business trips so when he

My Girl Psychology
My Girl is a film created upon an 11 year old adolescent named Vada. Vada s mother died giving birth
to her so, she was being raised by her dad Harry and grandma who had dementia. Harry had a home
based job as a mortician and regularly had services in his home. Due to the amount of time and work
he put into his business he rarely had time for Vada. Her private life and emotions are affected by her
feeling like she killed her mom, by her dad s new girlfriend (Shelly), and raging hormones. She feels
as though she killed her mother, because her mother died giving birth to her. She is a hypochondriac
who thinks that she is going to catch something from all the deceased people around her. She has an ill
grandmother she has to keep an eye on regularly. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She blames herself for her mother s death which has put a psychological toll on her developing mind.
Vada also lives in a house of death. She lives in a funeral home more or less. She is very frightened by
death and always believes she has caught something from the deceased people in her home. She
dropped her basketball in the basement with a dead body. She finally got the courage to go get it and
got locked into the basement. This fear sent her into an anxiety attack. She always thought she was
dying. She went to the doctor and would describe problems that the dead people at her house had
experienced before their death this was her hypochondriac behavior setting in. She is at the adolescent
stage of believing that bodily processes stop at death, but psychological ones still exist. She has a
better understanding of death as an adolescent than a child does due to her more developed cognitive
skills, but doesn t have a complete understanding yet. She thinks of her own death a lot, but not much
about her loved ones dying. This is why when her best friend Thomas died it hit her so traumatically.
She was in such shock and confusion. She tried to talk to him while he was in the coffin and tried to
get him up to play. It was a psychological shock. Vada also deals with not only her mother s absence,
but her father s absence and lack of

Ngo Dinh Diem
The Short lived Corrupt Regime of Ngo Dinh Diem Ngo Dinh Diem was sent into Vietnam two weeks
before the signing of the Geneva Accords as the Prime Minister of the new government in Saigon,
appointed by Bao Dai in June of 1954. He claimed that the only guaranteed resolution to a
noncommunist government was a Catholic. Catholicism was a minority privileged sector of South
Vietnam society which made U.S. officials apprehensive. Notably Diem had influential connections in
Washington who advocated insistently that regardless of any weaknesses Diem may possess, he was
the only Vietnamese politician with the determination and the credentials to wage a successful struggle
against communism and preserve an independent government in the South (William ... Show more

Sleep Deprivation And The Sleep Cycle
Sleeping is very important for everyone as it helps our body to rest and recover its energy. Anyone,
who doesn t sleep well, can have many disorders that we will discuss later. We have first to explain
what is a typical night`s sleep cycle then go ahead and describe how sleep deprivation impacts your
ability to learn and your health as well. Regular night`s sleep cycle can always be described in 4 stages
N1, N2 and N3. Where each stage has different information and different description. N1 can be said
for light sleep. N2 is for sleep spindles. N3 is for the delta waves. Also there is REM and NREM sleep
which defers from one stage to another. First stage will be N1 which is light sleep. In this stage your
body starts to adjust itself and the other organs that it is about to stop working. Where at this stage the
body drift between sleeping and out of sleep and it can be easily awakened from this stage. This stage
affects the eye movement as it makes it move slowly and the muscle activity as well starts to relax.
Many people said that they experienced sudden muscle contraction. There is also a hypnagogic images
as hallucinations or vivid visual events and hypinc jerk for the knees, legs and sometimes for the
whole body Second stage is N2, which can be expressed by sleep spindles as it is accompanied by stop
of eye movement and different stuff.in this stage, the body relaxes to the extreme as it stopes the eye
movement and brain waves starts to slow down with an occasional

Relationships In D. H. Lawrence s Sons And Lovers
D.H. Lawrence s novel Sons and Lovers explores the significant family and companionate
relationships of early adulthood. Unfortunately, and possibly unbeknownst to Lawrence himself, the
relationships in the novel are often abusive, triangulated, and otherwise inappropriate. Many of these
distorted connections may stem from the unconscious and cyclical perceptions of love by the
characters. In D.H. Lawrence s novel, Sons and Lovers, each character s view of love is shaped by
observing his parents relationship, causing Mrs. Morel and her sons to perceive love as domination
over another person.
Gertrude s ill treatment of her husband and intense passion for her children originate from observing
her own parent s relationship. Even ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When William first gets sick, the doctor describes the illness as pneumonia, and, he said, a peculiar
erysipelas, [a skin disease], which had started under the chin where the collar chafed, and was
spreading over the face . The fact that William s illness targeted his lungs and the area around his
throat alludes to death by strangulation, as he is pulled between his domineering mother and a fiancé
whom he wants to be able to love. Mrs. Morel mourns for her son, unaware of her role in his demise,
and she continues to perpetuate her love as dominance cycle with Paul.
Mrs. Morel imposes upon Paul s relationship with Miriam. Gertrude constantly tells Paul how
common Miriam is, and waits up late for him, like his wife, when he stays out late with Miriam, trying
to make him feel guilty. Paul even realizes at the end of the novel that his mother has been the root of
his failed relationships, and he asserts that I shall never meet the right woman while you live . Paul s
only means of freeing himself from his mother s dominance is to kill her, another dominating act
disguised as love, following Gertrude s path.
The two sons that Gertrude most loved and dominated also seem to feel that domination is true love,
thereby following in Gertrude s footsteps, both sons abusing their lovers. William as a child emits
some of the same sentiments as his mother when she was young.

Asian American Research Paper
Continuing Significance of Race for Asian Americans
The formation of pan ethnic and pan minority boundaries, as well as intermarriage, also has important
implications for changing racial landscapes and race relations of the United States. On one hand,
newly emerging racial order along the axes of socioeconomic status and interracial attitudes and
relations suggests that Asian American pan ethnic boundaries may be shifting or being redefined
altogether. On the other hand, interracial marriage patterns and the ways in which intermarried
individuals discuss their mixed unions reveal that black exceptionalism in the (inter)marriage market
is likely to continue.
Bonilla Silva (2004) theorizes that the United States is experiencing a shift in its ... Show more

If boundary crossing through intermarriage is occurring mainly within a single category of the tri
racial order even among Asian Americans, then this would suggest solidifying racial boundaries and
intra Asian boundaries as well as weakening salience of and potentials for pan ethnic and pan minority
solidarity and identification. Research on Asian American interethnic marriage shows clustering
marriage patterns among different Asian groups. Asian interethnic marriages occur within clusters of
East Asians and South/Southeast Asians with only Filipinos exhibiting about the same levels of
likelihood of marrying individuals from all ethnic clusters (S. Lee and Fernandez 1998; S. Lee and
Boyd 2008). However, scholars have paid little to no attention on the effects of such interethnic
marriage clusters on Asian pan ethnicity. Research on interracial marriage also suggests a bleak future
for the proposed pan minority identification and cultural diffusion. For example, Lee and Bean (2010)
examines interracial couples in the United States and found that people perceive Asian white and
Latino white unions to be more intercultural in its boundary crossing nature than interracial, whereas
intermarriage with blacks are considered interracial and therefore, crossing a rigid group boundary.
Therefore, Lee and Bean (2010) argue that the white/non white distinction in the mainstream racial
system is shifting to distinguish those who are black from

In the story, Rikki Tikki Tavi, a mongoose, Rikki Tikki Tavi, single handedly fights with a cobra
couple, while getting help from a group of new friends. One day, while he was in the wild, he was
caught up with the flood, that washed him away from his burrow, away from his mother and father. An
English family found him on the road, and decided to see if he was still alive. They brought him to
their bungalow, so he could rest and stay in a comfortable place. Although, as mongooses are
extremely curious, Rikki Tikki, decided to wander around the area, and found himself caught in a
sticky situation.
Firstly, Rikki Tikki explored the family s garden. Although, he seemed to notice the animals there
were not thriving there, they all seemed to be scared. There were large plants and trees he found that
he described, big as houses. While in the garden, he met a tailorbird, Darzee, and his wife. They
explained to Rikki Tikki that their family, and the whole garden was in danger. A cobra couple, Nag

Essay On Detective Fiction
Why we should read detective fiction.
We spend large parts of our lives in books about fiction. Not only in books but also through television
shows and films. Many people wonder if it is positive or negative to read Fiction? Society is changing
and is today surrounded by digital media that govern society. When society changes, it may in some
cases be enjoyable to escape from reality and this by reading detective fiction.
Britannica.com (Search word, Fiction history ,2017) explains that detective and crime related stories
are one of the most popular genres of fiction. The authors are many who have found inspiration from
the well known authors Edgar Allan Poe and Conan Doyle. What characterizes detective fiction is that

books can give a person a new perception of reality. Fiction becomes like their fantasy world, as they
can disappear when something in life is hard. In addition, the books can make people believe, that
there are others living in the same situation as them. It also allows you to go on adventures in your
mind. You are becoming one with the character, and in fiction like the murder of the orientexpress , it
feels as if you are involved in the murder, that you are one of all the train travelers questioned by the
detective Poirot. When the end comes with the book, it will be an end to one time friendship. The
characters have become friends of you and now they are gone. Which in turn inspires you to read

I Am A My Project On Architecture
For my final photojournalism project I decided to take pictures of really tall buildings in London such
as the Shard. For a while I wasn t sure what I was going to do my project on and I was thinking about
doing it on the process of opening and closing a local shop like Paul s. I wasn t really that motivated
by that topic so I soon forgot about it. The idea to do my project on architecture came from my visit to
the London Eye. When I was there I realized how vast and large London was and how many buildings
occupied it. I was amazed how tall and massive some of the buildings were and a couple of them in
particular stood out to me. After my visit there I decided I would pick one famous building in London
to photograph and then add other pictures to my project that were less known, but equally as
interesting looking buildings. I wanted to try and photograph the buildings from the ground up to
really try and capture how big they actually were. I also didn t want to shoot the buildings directly
head on. I wanted my pictures to be of interesting angles of the buildings. I decided that in order to
capture the look I wanted for these photographs I had to use a different lens. I used a zoom lens that
helped me focus in on the top of the buildings and make the image appear a lot clearer. Additionally, I
placed the camera really low to the ground and angled the camera directly up and down to get the style
that I wanted. When I looked at these pictures on my camera I was amazed how

Summary Of The Dooryard Bloom

When Lilacs Last in the Dooryard Mourn When Lilacs Last in the Dooryard Bloom d, one of Walt
Whitman s most popular poems was written to show his private mourning over President Lincoln s
death, in a public way. Whitman realizes his mourning is not his alone, it is a national grief, and so he
tries to vocalize his in a way that can be shared by everyone; he did so by writing this poem
(Rollyson). Whitman, drawn to the idea of a president that would emerge from the frontier west,
admired Lincoln more than most (Kreidler). His devastation by the loss of President Lincoln, coming
from his belief[s] and fervent admiration, can be seen in When Lilacs last in the Dooryard Bloom s,
but more notably in his most popular work, O Captain! My Captain! (Kreidler). In writing, When
Lilacs Last in the Dooryard Bloom d Whitman showed his true colors and took a highly personal note
into his poetry, as well as incorporated symbols to describe the depth his and the nation s desolation.
In When Lilacs Last in the Dooryard Bloom, Whitman uses symbols to express the nations, as well as
his own, deep private mourning over President Lincoln s death in a public way. Whitman s young life
gives reason to this poem, as well as adding to its overall tragic story. He was born in 1819 in West
Hills, Long Island, the second of nine kids; he was one of the few to be born in sound mental and
physical condition. While Whitman isn t the most

Essay on Exxon Mobil
ExxonMobil is the largest publicly traded oil and gas producing company. ExxonMobil does business
in 200 countries world wide (1). Some countries are designated for exploring gas and petroleum, and
some are designated for manufacturing chemicals, lubricants, and market fuels (1). ExxonMobil s
world class petroleum portfolio gives access to proven reserves of 21.9 billion oil equivalent barrels of
oil and gas, which is the highest in the industry (1). The company s discovered resources consist of 72
billion oil equivalent barrels of oil and gas. On average, each day, they produce 2.5 million barrels of
oil and 10.5 billion cubic feet of gas (4). Their asset base, includes more than 60,000 production wells

Competition in the oil industry is separated by about 10 cents here in the US. The difference between
ARCCO, Shell, Mobil, and Chevron, is between 1 and 10 cents. Oil companies don t compete with
each other. With gas prices constantly fluctuating towards the $3 mark, there is little room to raise
prices. Consumers will not pay 25 cents more for a gallon of gas. Although Chevron Texaco and
ExxonMobil make have a slight difference in price at the pump, the will not try to do anything to rock
the boat. Chevron Texaco, or Texaco Shell, is the leading competitor to ExxonMobil. Texaco is in the
same areas of business as Exxon. Their petroleum products and lubricants are sold in the same
markets, stores, and in many cases opposite street corners from each other. The two companies are
very similar, but Exxon s recent petroleum deals in the Middle East and Africa have allowed its stock
price to jump ahead for the time being (1). In the industry, the two companies mainly compete for the
ability to negotiate for new production. The competition is not made at the pump or at the local auto
store. It seems that it s more important to control oil than it is to sell it quickly. Because oil has so
much value and power in the world, the industry is made of semi friendly companies. Surviving and
making as much profit as possible, is more important than trying to put people out of business. Exxon

The Ethical Standing On The Delivery System Of The United...
Environmental Footprint of Mail Distribution Most of us don t consider how our mail is transported
each and every day and the impact it has on our environment. Thousands of letters are shipped out
daily, but what steps do these messages take in order to arrive in our mailboxes? This mail delivering
process uses mail trucks to carry our letters. Can the vehicles we use to transport our mail have a
negative impact on our environment, and if so are there any programs in place to help reduce this
impact? In this paper I will discuss the ethical standing on the delivery system of the United States
Postal Service. I will research the statistics of their vehicles pollution rates and what it takes to use
these services. In this paper I will uncover the current circumstances of postal transportation vehicles
and discuss ways to improve these methods. In this paper you will come to a greater understanding of
the environmental footprint of the distribution of our letters. You will recognize the emissions
produced through this transportation. I will present the solutions in progress to help reduce the amount
of pollution from these mail delivery vehicles. The United States Postal Service has put green policies
in place. Not only have they been working to reduce fuel emissions and pollution through their new
trucks, they have begun using recyclable stamps to conserve the environment. They have been
working to establish a more ethical supply chain. Folks at the USPS believe we

Gender Roles In Disney Movies
Disney is known for fairy tale films that are full of lovable characters that children cannot seem to get
enough of. The traits of many of the characters are great models for children to watch and learn from.
Adults tend to see a bit more than just the good qualities they embody, which leads to the realization
that these films are far from perfect. Upon closer inspection, Disney films embrace patriarchal and
sexist ideologies when it comes to their characters something that Disney has been nearly successful
in eradicating in their most recent films. From the earliest films to the most recent, the portrayal of
gender roles, of both the hero/heroine and the villain, has changed for the better. The earliest

In response to criticism and to avoid being called sexist, Disney started using more male villains.
According to Amy Davis, there exists several different types of male villain: pirate kings, enemies of
the earth, magically dangerous, criminally dangerous, comic, and idiotic. Ratcliffe, from Pocahontas,
is an enemy of the earth villain and concerned only with what wealth he can gain from the land. The
Shadow Man, from The Princess and the Frog, is a magically dangerous villain and a practitioner of
voodoo. He exerts his magical power to manipulate other people to do what he wishes, and his
primary goal consists of becoming ridiculously wealthy. Shan yu, from Mulan, is a criminally
dangerous and arrogant villain with a grandiose sense of self who is intent on conquering the whole of
China. Hans, from Frozen, is probably a criminally dangerous villain, although he lacks mention in
Davis s book. Being the youngest in his family, he feels as though he does not get anything he believes
he deserves, so he manipulates Anna to gain access to her kingdom and wealth. Gaston, from Beauty
and the Beast, is a comic villain composed of more brawn than brain. He only cares about acquiring
wealth, a category that also includes Belle. These male villains all have similar characteristics greed,
arrogance, overconfidence, and violent tendencies (Amy Davis Ch.

Introduction. Women Across The World Struggle To Make Their

can be an aspiration in equality for the future. To understand the struggle women are facing around the

oppression. Feminist theorists like West and Zimmerman, MacKinnon, and Smith defend women s
rights and call for an open and organized society that promotes equality for all genders, ethnic,

Body of Analysis To begin understanding the rise of women s roles in Japan, we must first analyze the
importance and impact of gender roles, politics, and conflict in Japanese culture. Typically, men have
dominated leadership roles in Japanese society for centuries and women have only now begun to make
an appearance in such influential positions. The voices of powerful women are finally being heard.
Women such as the first female governor Yuriko Koike, the first female Democratic Party leader
Renho Murata, and the female defense minister Tomomi Indada are using their positions to encourage
and promote a change for women in political occupations of leadership in the country (Hu 2017).
Women s rights for equality has slowly become a social fact in Japanese society as women are
overcoming cultural boundaries in order to achieve political, social, and economic status never open to
women before. Durkheim s social fact is the collective consciousness of cultural and social norms
understood by a society (Durkheim 20131). Women have taken the initiative and begun reaching for
leadership positions across Japan, expressing their desire to make a change in society (Hu 2017).

The Spatial Distribution Of Temperature Essay
The spatial distribution of temperature, pH , salinity , Dissolved Oxygen (D.O) , Biological Oxygen
Demand (BOD), micronutrients (phosphate , nitrate and silicate ) and chlorophyll pigments were
pronounced as shown in fig : 3 .The surface water temperature were homogenous within the studied
area ,varying within the range 25 32° C . Generally, the temperature is influenced by the freshwater
influx intensity of solar radiation, and cooling and mix up with ebb , evaporation and flow from
adjoining neritic waters (Prabu et al. 2008). The estuarine water was slightly alkaline in nature
throughout the study period in all the respective stations with pH value ranging from 7.7 to 8.33. The
pH value was within the safe limit for drinking purpose (WHO, 1973) as well as for crop production
(FAO, 1975).This pH range was the combine effects of the tides of the Bay of Bengal and fairly high
buffering capacity of the water (Huang et.al;2008). The neutral sub alkaline environment at this pH
substantially limits the mobility of trace metals in marine water (Manta et al., 2002). The maximum
salinity (14.5 p.s.u) at Sagar (S8) and the minimum (0.17 p.s.u.) at Babughat (S3) were recorded
which is attributed to higher rate of evaporation than that of precipitation and the neritic water
dominance (Rajasekar; 2003). The turbidity showed a wide range of variation (1 13 NTU) being
lowest at Tribeni (S1) which is the fresh water zone and highest at Lot 8 (S7), near the coastal water.

The Is An Internet Moral Panic Essay
As technology surrounding the internet has grown there has a been a new movement to connect the
world. Specifically, teens have become more inclined to socialize and connect with friends, family,
and strangers through the internet. Teenagers are known for being vulnerable, naïve, having a vast
desire to find acceptance with their peers or society and are obsessed with love. With the connection
of the internet, social media, and teen it has created completely new moral panic; catfishing.
According to, to Merriam Webster catfishing is defined as an individual who creates a fake profile on
a social networking site to deceive or manipulate others ( Catfish ). Primarily, those who catfish use
their fake profiles to gain romantic relationships with other social network users. Teens began creating
fake profiles through their instinct of wanting to fit in but, this led to teens catfishing to fulfill their
dreams of finding acceptance. Catfishing is an internet moral panic because it is considered a social
terror. The act of catfishing became a way for some teens to find acceptance but, parents feel that teens
are not safe on social networking sites such as; Facebook because these deceptions can cause teens
emotional and mental harm. Those constructing the moral panic continually scapegoated social
network sites for the creation of catfishing and its side effects but, the true root cause of catfishing is
teen s inherent behavior. Catfishing was created by teens and the major

Paul s Letter To Shilemon
The book of Philemon is one of Paul letters that seems to me best describe God mercy for humanity.
As I read the story, it gives me a good perspective of understanding on Paul emphasis on Jesus as our

Jesus death is the price that I consider paid to restore my life from being a slave of sins. Paul s letter to

other believers. Paul thought so highly of Philemon that in verse 17 he talked about Philemon as his
partner in gospel ministry. And it may even be that in verse 2 Paul identified Philemon as the host of
the local church. According to verse 19, Philemon seems to have had a significant history with Paul
that formed a strong bond between them. In all likelihood, Paul meant that he had brought Philemon to
faith, although it is also possible that he had saved Philemon s life in some other way. But whatever
the case, Philemon owed Paul a high debt. We can also see the strength of their relationship in
Philemon s prayers for Paul s release from prison, and in Paul s plan to lodge with Philemon after
being released from prison. We read Paul s words to this effect in Philemon 22: Prepare a guest room
for me, because I hope to be restored to you in answer to your prayers (Philemon 22).
Paul addressed the matter in the letter with kindness and a humble attitude. Paul s attitude and the
respect that he has for Onesimus allowed him to consider Onesimus as a spiritual son rather than a
slave. Paul and Onesimus relationship is to me a setting example for the church. It illustrates how
Christian believers should live in a community and help each other without any

Stricter Media Regulations
With the rise of new technologies, there is certain debates on whether or not media regulations are a
good or a bad thing. There are benefits and consequences for both sides. In a sense, regulations are an
essential element in our society. Every time there is a new technology, regulations must be made in
order to create rules that influencers and organizations must follow. Stricter media regulations means
would protect public interests, protect individual rights, insuring fair competition, and censoring
violent and innappropriate material.

On the other hand, the incorporation of media regulations by the
government could potentially unconstitutional and limit the freedoms of the press. One must look at
both sides to form their own opinion about how much regulation is needed. ... Show more content on

Many good things have come from government regulation such as copyright laws, the FCC and

children are not subject to foal material that are inappropriate for them. Another important aspect is
the regulating of the ownership and control. This is essential in that competition thrives and mass

Analysis Of The Movie Demi Lovato Essay
After Leaving Disney, Demi Lovato has become one of pop cultures leading motivational figures.
Taking a stand and talking to Congress about un smearing mental illness. Singing songs about self
acceptance and openly discussing her struggles with bipolar disorder, bulimia, and substance abuse.
Lovato has become confident with the person she is now and hopes that by opening up about her
darkest time she can reach out to others who are fighting the same fight. At only 18 years old, Lovato
became overwhelmed with the work, popularity, and media attention she was attracting being a
successful actress, singer, song writer, and charity spokesperson. Being a pop star with problems
finally became obvious the summer of 2010, backstage after a concert, Lovato attacked one of her
back up dancers. She was sent to rehab where the truth was revealed that she had stopped eating
regularly, taken up drinking, drugging, self harm and purging. Lovato completed a three month course
at Timberline Knolls; an in patient treatment center, which specializes in helping women with eating
and mood disorders. After being released Lovato went on Good Morning America and discussed
everything that had happened, knowing her story was too public to hide. Even tweeting about rehab
and openly sharing the fact that she had been staying in a sober living facility. She put herself out
there in a way that was not about attention getting and more about self discovery. She explained how

The Issue Of Administrative Searches
Abstract Administrative searches have always been a controversial topic and have brought about many
civil cases. Publicized warrant cases have changed the way warrantless searches are conducted. The
privacy of individuals is a very sensitive subject and our right to privacy is clearly stated in the 4th
amendment, Bill of Rights. The original notion in the 4th amendment is each man s home is a castle
(Legal Information Institute, 2014). The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses,
papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, not be violated, and no warrants shall
issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place

The following cases represent examples in various outcomes of contrast and comparison in
administrative searches. Comparisons question whether or not warrants were necessary when
determining if civil rights were compromised. In some cases, the courts felt that warrantless searches
were justified; while other cases represent examples of civil rights violations. A particular
administrative search in question was brought to court in 1989 at the Superior court of New Jersey,
Law Division of Middlesex County (Health Dept. V. Roehsler, 2014). The group and/or individuals in
this case involved the Middlesex County Health Department, Plaintiff V. Peter Roesheler and Donna
Roeshler, Defendants (Health Dept. V. Roehsler, 2014). On May, 5th 1987 a representative from the
Middlesex County Health Department received a complaint regarding an accumulation of construction
debris on a piece of property within their jurisdiction (Health Dept. V. Roehsler, 2014). The first
search was conducted on May 5th, 1987, the same day the complaint was received. Subsequent
inspections were conducted on May, June, September, October; as well as April, June and October of
the following year (Health Dept. V. Roehsler, 2014). The defendant s property is located

Architectural Reuse
C. Architectural Reuse
People are happiest in buildings where change occurs at every scale from weeks to centuries. Such
buildings are fractals in time. Stewart Brand
Architectural reuse processes include adaptive reuse, conservative disassembly, and reusing salvaged
materials. This definition is broad and inclusive permitting many different interpretations; however,
the underlying objective is that architectural reuse be understood as an evolutionary process occurring
over time.

Adaptive reuse should always be investigated, because it is the highest form of recovery. Adaptive
reuse revises the function of a building while preserving the integrity of architectural space. In order
for a building to accommodate change, it must have a functional value as well as a commodity value.
Buildings that offer an open arrangement of spaces and a flexible structural framework have the best
potential for reuse. In Ecologic Architecture, Richard Crowther says, Our tendency to fixed state space
planning is counter to our own dynamic of thinking, articulation, and mobility. 3 We have adopted this
approach for the purpose of protecting the public s health and safety. The Uniform Building Code
(UBC) requires buildings to follow a set of rules with respect to their occupancy and construction
type. While establishing fixed uses helps simplify the regulatory process, the specificity of functions
has gotten out of hand. The 1994 UBC outlines a total of 32 separate occupancies, each of which
contains numerous sub sections. The subsequent hard separations and compartmentalization limits the
capability of a building to adapt to future needs. Open plans and partitioning that is easily recyclable
or biodegradable, such as Stramit straw panels, allow for greater versatility.

Starting Interview (1)
Interviewer: What do you think Freud just didn t get about the psychology of women?
Horney: In my opinion, I don t believe that Freud had a good understanding about the psychology of
women, nor did he know what they wanted. His theory of feminine psychology was unreasonable
because he based most of his theories on gender and sexuality.
Interviewer: How did you try to overcome that gap?
Horney: To overcome the gap of Freud s gender theory, I developed my own personality theory and
one that I believed gave more clarification of the psychology of women and their experience. In
addition, I focused on the strategy of moving toward, against, and away from Freud s demeaning
views.
Interviewer: What impact do you believe your work has had on psychology as you see it today?
Horney: As the first psychoanalytic feminist (1967), I believe that my work has had a most positive
impact on today s psychology. I have contributed my time and work to helping individual s understand
the women of psychology. I have rejected Freud s penis envy theory and I developed the neurosis
theory. The neurosis theory is still prominent today and has helped me to show the relationship
between personality and relationship.
Interviewer: Do you think that Freud provided enough evidence to back his theories?

Dysfunctional Model In Children
The purpose of this research is to explore child development by investigating children s understanding
about the structure of the earth. This main focus is to establish an understanding about mental models
created by children and discover how these concepts change in association with age and gender.
According to Vosniadou and Brewer (1992), mental models are dynamic in nature, generated by
children in response to questions asked and used to detect their perceptions of the earth. Mental
models are categorized to be naïve, synthetic or scientific. Naïve models are believed to be an
outcome of everyday experience; synthetic models to be formed to deal with the irregularity between

The researchers conducted a questionnaire to 60 children (20 first graders, 20 third graders and 20
fifth graders) in order to investigate children s instinctive comprehension of the earth and how this is
modified following the introduction of the spherical model. It was concluded within their study that
developing children experience a consistent change from the initial model to the complex spherical
model and thus, produce substitute models within this process in order to adjust factual information
and preconceptions. A recent study by Straatemeier, Van der Mass and Jansen (2008) opposed
Vosniadou and Brewer s view by concluding that children s conceptual models are fragmented rather
than systematic. The children within their study did show a greater percentage of scientific knowledge
of the earth at older age however they demonstrated high constancies in their responses, thus it was
inferred that children s knowledge occurs piece by piece. This study confirms that children develop
clearer understanding at an older age however it also portrays that the nature of the knowledge
acquired still remains

The Ontological Files
The authors[7] presented an approach in which ontological profiles are built. Ontology is considered
to be a hierarchy of topics which is used to classify and categorise web pages. It is also used to
identify the topics in which the particular user is interested. Ontology has some existing concepts to
which interest scores are assigned. Keeping the reference ontology, these profiles are maintained and
updated. With observing the ongoing behaviour, a spreading activation algorithm was proposed for
maintaining the interest scores. So this way of the interest scores updation, the most relevant results
are brought on the top.
Each built profile is an instance of this reference ontology. A user profile may comprise of variety of
concepts which is represented as nodes. Each node is represented as a pair (Cj, IS(Cj)),where Cj is a
concept in the reference ontology and IS(Cj)is the interest score annotation for that concept. Every
concept in the profile is provided with an interest score having initial value as one.
The ontological user profile is treated as the network of concepts and the interest scores are updated
based on the activation values. These scores are updated using spreading activation algorithm[8].
Input vector is also involved to represent the current interaction of the user. When the user selects
documents, the user profile is updated and the interest scores of the existing concepts are modified
using spreading activation. by this way the web pages in which the user

Human Nature In The Stand By Stephen King
Human Nature is a very interesting topic with it being something that is in everyday life. Every

Paul Zak s Can a molecule make us moral is very interesting in a lot of ways. It really shows a lot of
different scenarios where there can be a good moral decision and a bad moral decision. Paul Zak said
that morality is like the earthly basis of all decisions which when you think about it it is very true.
Most if not all decisions we make have morality behind them whether it be a good or bad decision.
With all of this to consider and how morality can change decisions with good or bad influence do we
actually make the decisions or is it all morality. It actually is us just with a certain molecule called
Oxytocin. It is a molecule released when you sense trust or have a certain feeling with another person.
Paul Zak said a good example of this is the Pigeon Drop con where say you work at a gas station and a
man comes to the front desk with a pearl necklace and he says he just found it. You get a call 5
minutes later from a man saying he is looking for it he was in the bathroom 20 minutes ago. He says

has a job interview so you decide to split it so he gives you the necklace and you give him the 100

Potential Market for marketing
Due to the unique nature of the association(as a self financed social enterprise), the potential market
for the association should not quite different to normal private companies/ profit making
organizations. The potential market for the association should be surely the seniors in need in the
community, but also the generous donors, volunteers, the media and even the Government. Their
support on the association will be of paramount importance to sustain the quality service provided to
the clients, such as the provision of necessary funding for daily operation, human resources, training
and guidance. (Hellinger, 1987)
Future Customers
The future customers of the association will not be likely to change much with the previous customers.
The association may still focus on the caring on the aged chronic patients, the elderly living alone and
those under financial difficulties. In addition, with the increase in proportion of aged people in the

She blames herself for her mother s death which has put a psychological toll on her developing mind. Vada also lives in a house of death. She lives in a funeral home more or less. She is very frightened by death and always believes she has caught something from the deceased people in her home. She dropped her basketball in the basement with a dead body. She finally got the courage to go get it and got locked into the basement. This fear sent her into an anxiety attack. She always thought she was dying. She went to the doctor and would describe problems that the dead people at her house had experienced before their death this was her hypochondriac behavior setting in. She has a better understanding of death as an adolescent than a child does due to her more developed cognitive skills, but doesn t have a complete understanding yet. • 6. Ngo Dinh Diem The Short lived Corrupt Regime of Ngo Dinh Diem Ngo Dinh Diem was sent into Vietnam two weeks before the signing of the Geneva Accords as the Prime Minister of the new government in Saigon, appointed by Bao Dai in June of 1954. He claimed that the only guaranteed resolution to a noncommunist government was a Catholic. Catholicism was a minority privileged sector of South Vietnam society which made U.S. officials apprehensive. Notably Diem had influential connections in Washington who advocated insistently that regardless of any weaknesses Diem may possess, he was the only Vietnamese politician with the determination and the credentials to wage a successful struggle against communism and preserve an independent government in the South (William ... • 8. Relationships In D. H. Lawrence s Sons And Lovers D.H. Lawrence s novel Sons and Lovers explores the significant family and companionate relationships of early adulthood. Unfortunately, and possibly unbeknownst to Lawrence himself, the relationships in the novel are often abusive, triangulated, and otherwise inappropriate. Many of these distorted connections may stem from the unconscious and cyclical perceptions of love by the characters. In D.H. Lawrence s novel, Sons and Lovers, each character s view of love is shaped by observing his parents relationship, causing Mrs. Morel and her sons to perceive love as domination over another person. Gertrude s ill treatment of her husband and intense passion for her children originate from observing her own parent s relationship. Even ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When William first gets sick, the doctor describes the illness as pneumonia, and, he said, a peculiar erysipelas, [a skin disease], which had started under the chin where the collar chafed, and was spreading over the face . The fact that William s illness targeted his lungs and the area around his throat alludes to death by strangulation, as he is pulled between his domineering mother and a fiancé whom he wants to be able to love. Mrs. Morel mourns for her son, unaware of her role in his demise, and she continues to perpetuate her love as dominance cycle with Paul. Mrs. Morel imposes upon Paul s relationship with Miriam. Gertrude constantly tells Paul how common Miriam is, and waits up late for him, like his wife, when he stays out late with Miriam, trying to make him feel guilty. Paul even realizes at the end of the novel that his mother has been the root of his failed relationships, and he asserts that I shall never meet the right woman while you live . Paul s only means of freeing himself from his mother s dominance is to kill her, another dominating act disguised as love, following Gertrude s path. The two sons that Gertrude most loved and dominated also seem to feel that domination is true love, thereby following in Gertrude s footsteps, both sons abusing their lovers. William as a child emits some of the same sentiments as his mother when she was young. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. Asian American Research Paper Continuing Significance of Race for Asian Americans The formation of pan ethnic and pan minority boundaries, as well as intermarriage, also has important implications for changing racial landscapes and race relations of the United States. On one hand, newly emerging racial order along the axes of socioeconomic status and interracial attitudes and relations suggests that Asian American pan ethnic boundaries may be shifting or being redefined altogether. On the other hand, interracial marriage patterns and the ways in which intermarried individuals discuss their mixed unions reveal that black exceptionalism in the (inter)marriage market is likely to continue. Bonilla Silva (2004) theorizes that the United States is experiencing a shift in its ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If boundary crossing through intermarriage is occurring mainly within a single category of the tri racial order even among Asian Americans, then this would suggest solidifying racial boundaries and intra Asian boundaries as well as weakening salience of and potentials for pan ethnic and pan minority solidarity and identification. Research on Asian American interethnic marriage shows clustering marriage patterns among different Asian groups. Asian interethnic marriages occur within clusters of East Asians and South/Southeast Asians with only Filipinos exhibiting about the same levels of likelihood of marrying individuals from all ethnic clusters (S. Lee and Fernandez 1998; S. Lee and Boyd 2008). However, scholars have paid little to no attention on the effects of such interethnic marriage clusters on Asian pan ethnicity. Research on interracial marriage also suggests a bleak future for the proposed pan minority identification and cultural diffusion. For example, Lee and Bean (2010) examines interracial couples in the United States and found that people perceive Asian white and Latino white unions to be more intercultural in its boundary crossing nature than interracial, whereas intermarriage with blacks are considered interracial and therefore, crossing a rigid group boundary. Therefore, Lee and Bean (2010) argue that the white/non white distinction in the mainstream racial system is shifting to distinguish those who are black from ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Although, as mongooses are extremely curious, Rikki Tikki, decided to wander around the area, and found himself caught in a sticky situation. Firstly, Rikki Tikki explored the family s garden. Although, he seemed to notice the animals there were not thriving there, they all seemed to be scared. There were large plants and trees he found that he described, big as houses. While in the garden, he met a tailorbird, Darzee, and his wife. They explained to Rikki Tikki that their family, and the whole garden was in danger. For a while I wasn t sure what I was going to do my project on and I was thinking about doing it on the process of opening and closing a local shop like Paul s. I wasn t really that motivated by that topic so I soon forgot about it. The idea to do my project on architecture came from my visit to the London Eye. When I was there I realized how vast and large London was and how many buildings occupied it. I was amazed how tall and massive some of the buildings were and a couple of them in particular stood out to me. After my visit there I decided I would pick one famous building in London to photograph and then add other pictures to my project that were less known, but equally as interesting looking buildings. I wanted to try and photograph the buildings from the ground up to really try and capture how big they actually were. I also didn t want to shoot the buildings directly head on. I wanted my pictures to be of interesting angles of the buildings. I decided that in order to capture the look I wanted for these photographs I had to use a different lens. I used a zoom lens that helped me focus in on the top of the buildings and make the image appear a lot clearer. Additionally, I placed the camera really low to the ground and angled the camera directly up and down to get the style that I wanted. When I looked at these pictures on my camera I was amazed how ... • 13. Summary Of The Dooryard Bloom Austin Reed Rattan World Lit. 4332.08 April 10, 2015 When Lilacs Last in the Dooryard Mourn When Lilacs Last in the Dooryard Bloom d, one of Walt Whitman s most popular poems was written to show his private mourning over President Lincoln s death, in a public way. Whitman realizes his mourning is not his alone, it is a national grief, and so he tries to vocalize his in a way that can be shared by everyone; he did so by writing this poem (Rollyson). Whitman, drawn to the idea of a president that would emerge from the frontier west, admired Lincoln more than most (Kreidler). His devastation by the loss of President Lincoln, coming from his belief[s] and fervent admiration, can be seen in When Lilacs last in the Dooryard Bloom s, but more notably in his most popular work, O Captain! My Captain! (Kreidler). In writing, When Lilacs Last in the Dooryard Bloom d Whitman showed his true colors and took a highly personal note into his poetry, as well as incorporated symbols to describe the depth his and the nation s desolation. In When Lilacs Last in the Dooryard Bloom, Whitman uses symbols to express the nations, as well as his own, deep private mourning over President Lincoln s death in a public way. Whitman s young life gives reason to this poem, as well as adding to its overall tragic story. He was born in 1819 in West Hills, Long Island, the second of nine kids; he was one of the few to be born in sound mental and physical condition. While Whitman isn t the most ... Chevron Texaco, or Texaco Shell, is the leading competitor to ExxonMobil. Texaco is in the same areas of business as Exxon. Their petroleum products and lubricants are sold in the same markets, stores, and in many cases opposite street corners from each other. The two companies are very similar, but Exxon s recent petroleum deals in the Middle East and Africa have allowed its stock price to jump ahead for the time being (1). The traits of many of the characters are great models for children to watch and learn from. Adults tend to see a bit more than just the good qualities they embody, which leads to the realization that these films are far from perfect. Upon closer inspection, Disney films embrace patriarchal and sexist ideologies when it comes to their characters something that Disney has been nearly successful in eradicating in their most recent films. The voices of powerful women are finally being heard. Women such as the first female governor Yuriko Koike, the first female Democratic Party leader Renho Murata, and the female defense minister Tomomi Indada are using their positions to encourage and promote a change for women in political occupations of leadership in the country (Hu 2017). Generally, the temperature is influenced by the freshwater influx intensity of solar radiation, and cooling and mix up with ebb , evaporation and flow from adjoining neritic waters (Prabu et al. 2008). According to verse 19, Philemon seems to have had a significant history with Paul that formed a strong bond between them. In all likelihood, Paul meant that he had brought Philemon to faith, although it is also possible that he had saved Philemon s life in some other way. • 32. The Ontological Files The authors[7] presented an approach in which ontological profiles are built. Ontology is considered to be a hierarchy of topics which is used to classify and categorise web pages. It is also used to identify the topics in which the particular user is interested. Ontology has some existing concepts to which interest scores are assigned. Keeping the reference ontology, these profiles are maintained and updated. With observing the ongoing behaviour, a spreading activation algorithm was proposed for maintaining the interest scores. So this way of the interest scores updation, the most relevant results are brought on the top. Each built profile is an instance of this reference ontology. A user profile may comprise of variety of concepts which is represented as nodes. Each node is represented as a pair (Cj, IS(Cj)),where Cj is a concept in the reference ontology and IS(Cj)is the interest score annotation for that concept. Every concept in the profile is provided with an interest score having initial value as one. The ontological user profile is treated as the network of concepts and the interest scores are updated based on the activation values. These scores are updated using spreading activation algorithm[8]. Input vector is also involved to represent the current interaction of the user. When the user selects documents, the user profile is updated and the interest scores of the existing concepts are modified using spreading activation. by this way the web pages in which the user ... • 33. Human Nature In The Stand By Stephen King Human Nature is a very interesting topic with it being something that is in everyday life. Every decision you make comes with some influence from Human Nature. Human Nature tells you a bit of right from wrong and almost tells you what outcomes can be. To give an example from Paul Zak s Can a molecule make us moral article they did an experiment where two people would be in separate rooms and they would both get twenty dollars. One person could choose how much money they wanted to give the other. So basically if you didn t give the other person money they could take money away. But if you did they could give you money so in the end you have more than what you started with. The DM1 to DM2 transfer is understood to be a measure of trust, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Paul Zak s Can a molecule make us moral is very interesting in a lot of ways. It really shows a lot of different scenarios where there can be a good moral decision and a bad moral decision. Paul Zak said that morality is like the earthly basis of all decisions which when you think about it it is very true. Most if not all decisions we make have morality behind them whether it be a good or bad decision. With all of this to consider and how morality can change decisions with good or bad influence do we actually make the decisions or is it all morality. It actually is us just with a certain molecule called Oxytocin. It is a molecule released when you sense trust or have a certain feeling with another person. Paul Zak said a good example of this is the Pigeon Drop con where say you work at a gas station and a man comes to the front desk with a pearl necklace and he says he just found it. You get a call 5 minutes later from a man saying he is looking for it he was in the bathroom 20 minutes ago. He says he will give the man a 200 dollar reward and he ll be on his way. The man says he can t because he has a job interview so you decide to split it so he gives you the necklace and you give him the 100 dollars. Well turns out that was Oxytocin falling for the con, the necklace is fake and they just got 100 dollars and that guy is never showing up for the necklace. The Oxytocin in your brain surged when he showed you he ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 36. Nuclear Program Entry Essay Every weekday at 6PM, I transform into a zen monk; a master of the art of pure, untouched reflection. I count the seconds down on the clock, and as 5:59 turns to 6, I rise from the comfort of my desk chair with automatic precision, moving towards the kitchen. I emulate a recipe used for 200 years, first developed from the chefs of the Indian Maharajahs in the British occupation of India. I engage with the titans of my Indian heritage by measuring milk into a mug and then diluting it down with an nip of water. 2 teaspoons of chai patti, 7 teaspoons of sugar, and half a grated ginger follow the milky concoction into my cooking vessel of choice. Coaxing the stove to its sixth level, I observe the drink warm to a boil as it moves up and down with the pattern of the heat. I m mesmerised by the cyclical rise and fall of this traditional ... I think of the first time I heard the story of my parents journey from their native India to the bustle of the United States, the $500 dollars in my dad s pocket a representation of his entire worth. In these times, I think of what makes me who I am, like the the small mole on my left cheek that used to be the cause of much embarrassment, my unconventional taste for samosas and mayonnaise, or my undying love for The Smiths. In some ways, more than any motivational speech or deep, meaningful conversation, it is the preparation of chai that has given me this space to understand who I am. The eight minutes of sacrosanct, pin drop silence, interrupted only by the bubbling white noise of the tea offer me a chance to delve into the deepest parts of myself. The one constant of my whirlwind days and whistle stop nights is this juncture of meditation; a point where I m at one with myself in a constant lock on what ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

To identify the corporate bonds that are relevant for research, the following criteria are applied in this study: Bonds are issued by publicly listed corporations in financial and industrial sectors. Bonds are US denominated and issuers of bonds are officially registered in the US. It is implemented to narrow the scope of this study only to the US bonds. Bonds are actively traded. Bonds that matured before December 2013 are not included in the sample. Bonds that do not have option like features or any other special properties. This means that sinkable, convertible, puttable and callable bonds, and corporate bonds with floating rates, inflation indexed bonds are excluded. To enter the sample, data on bond must provide at least 25 months of consecutive observations. Bonds with a maturity more than one year. Bonds are ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
