Planning stage: Farm plans were prepared
and all necessary inputs were made
available to the selected farmers.
3. Seven district were selected.
The programme was later expanded to cover
30 district.
Highly successful.
4. Area approach in 1964.
1084 blocks frm 114 districts.
1410 blocks-1966-67.
Large production of cropped area in the
country.
Possessing adequate production potential
was brought under intensive production
efforts.
5. Programme was started in 1966.
Balanced fertilizers, irrigation, plant
protection, improved implements.
Programme was initially aimed at Agricultural
crops, it soon spread to other allied areas
like diary, poultry, fisheries and sericulture.
6. Scale neutral: Increase in production
following adoption of these verities is not
dependent upon the size of farm.
Not Resource neutral: Requires more
resources and inputs and are costlier to
cultivate.
Benefited to rich farmers and has increased
the gap between small n large farmers.
7. TOT programe of ICAR.
Implemented through KVKs, SAUs, ZRC.
Aims to generate appropriate technologies by
assessing and refining innovations generated
by scientist.
Objectives:

production systems.
8. To introduce environmental friendly
technologies.
To integrate enhanced productivity with
market systems.
