2. The Monarch is a home-like facility with a
primary emphasis on enhancing the
continuity and quality of hospice care
delivered to terminally ill people in the
community. Owned and managed by
The Eastmont Towers Community, The
Monarch is a not-for-profit, non-
denominational facility that has been
providing end-of-life care since 2003.
Staffed by professionals who partner with
all area hospice agencies, this highly
trained and compassionate staff
provides exceptional care to patients as
well as their families. Family and friends
are encouraged to stay with their loved
ones during this difficult time and The
Monarch staff take great care in
supporting their needs as well.
“The Monarch is amazing.
It is a beautiful building with
large patient rooms and
comfortable common areas. It
is just pleasant to be there.
In addition it has a team of
professionals that have
exceeded every expectation.”
~William J. Ball, Brigadier Gen. USAF
(Ret.)

4. Thanks to the generosity of our
donors, last year over 600 days of
benevolent care was provided to
individuals in need. However, for
every 12 requests for benevolent
care, only one is accepted due to
limited funding.
The Eastmont Towers Foundation
is actively seeking support for
The Monarch Benevolent Care Fund.
This fund was established to
continue The Monarch’s tradition of
providing charity care to those in
need. Established with an endowed
lead gift, donations may be made
to the endowed fund or for the
immediate use for benevolent care.
We thank everyone who supports
the benevolent care fund and has
made end-of-life care to people in
need possible.

Monarch Charity Care
Since opening in July 2003, The
Monarch has served more than 1,000
people ranging in age from one
month to over 100 years and
provided more than $1 million in
benevolent care.
“I don’t think there is another facility in
town that could have provided one half of
what The Monarch and its staff provided
for mother and our family.”
~ Elizabeth Varvel & Kathy Rollins
5. Lil’ Miss Babes
In early February, readers of Cindy
Lange-Kubik’s column in the Lincoln
Journal Star were captivated by the
story of Lil’ Miss Babes, Ashlyn Jay
Riggings. Ashlyn was born with a
condition that neonatologists could
not diagnose, where her brain could
not send messages to her muscles.
The story detailed how her mom,
Cassidy, journeyed back and forth to
Children’s
Hospital in
Omaha
almost daily
to spend
time with
her
daughter.
A young mom, Cassidy had been
met with many challenges in her life
and was now facing end-of-life care
for her infant daughter.
“They hope to bringthe baby to the Monarch
House, the hospice that looks like a home on
Pioneers Boulevard.”
~ Cindy Lange-Kubik– Lincoln Journal Star
With unreliable transportation and
another small child, she wanted
somewhere close to home where she
and her family could spend precious
time together. She wanted to be at
The Monarch.
The Monarch became home to
Ashlyn and Cassidy and their many
family members during Ashlyn’s last
few weeks of life. The Monarch was
a peaceful place where the family
could surround Ashlyn with love and
comfort. Her care was made possible
thanks to the generous supporters of
The Monarch Benevolent Care Fund.
6. The Monarch celebrates 12 years of compassionate end-of-life care
since its founding in 2003.
Since our start, we have cared for more than 1,000 patients and their
families in the Lincoln area.
We spent over $1 million on benevolent care for those patients who
cannot afford it.
We provided over 600 days of benevolent care to patients and their
family members in fiscal year 2014-15.
The Monarch made upgrades to the kitchen, living room areas and
nurse’s station. The nurse’s station upgrades now provide adequate
space for Monarch staff as well as the hospice providers and doctors
who are there each day.
The Monarch continues to be a place for education for nurses and
those interested in hospice care.
