This document discusses action learning and its use in a learning and development special interest group. Action learning involves presenting a problem to a group, having one's thinking challenged through questions, reflecting, and taking actions. It works through an iterative process of sharing problems, getting different perspectives and feedback, and developing solutions. Skills like listening, questioning, and facilitating discussion are important. The GROW model provides a framework to set goals, understand the current reality, brainstorm options, and determine next steps. Participants found value in sharing, different perspectives, questions, and self-regulation, while preparation and dedicated facilitation were weaknesses.
