Based on lessons from 2016-17, LLI refined its communications, data collection, and participation in school meetings and events. Moving forward, LLI aims to provide clearer evidence of the impact of its services on student outcomes and work in an even more integrated way across its own teams to best support each school.

Imperial College London Library Services implemented Leganto as a development partner to provide a complete course recommended reading system for academics, students, and library staff; with a first phase launch in February 2016. We present what we learned from the project, with a practical, organisational change focus to help universities wishing to know the "why" as well as the "how" of implementing Leganto. I cover the value of business analysis using lean methods to analyse requirements and workflow before implementing; how we aligned our project with Ex Libris agile software development to get best value as a development partner; the ways we engaged faculty to align our service offer with their pedagogical concerns and deliver an improved user experience; and how we dealt with varying user needs across different departments, including using the LTI standard to integrate with our Blackboard learning management system and using the Alma APIs to deliver a custom integration for Imperial College Business School.

This session will, among other things, address the following questions: What is the average price per book at the time of purchase? What is the cost per use? Do purchased titles continue to be used? What is the usage by subject area and by year of publication?

This webinar is based on experiences of working over the past two years with a number of further education (FE) colleges to help them increase engagement with digital resources and library services. It draws on the recommendations of a number of librarians/learning resources managers on how they have increased engagement with, and use of, their resources. The emphasis will be on non-technical approaches to enhance student experience, learning and teaching. Lis Parcell will share recommendations which will be particularly useful for librarians and learning resources staff in FE colleges, but may also be of interest to staff working in smaller university library services. Participants will be encouraged to contribute their own views on the challenges they face in increasing engagement with their digital resources and library services. We will also highlight further support available from Jisc in this area. Lis will co-present with Elizabeth Newbold, Library Manager at Activate Learning.
