Similarities Between Chinese And Australian Economy
Introduction
The purpose of this report is to compare both Australian and Chinese economies. China is one of
Australia s closest trade neighbours, often referred to as the Sino Australian relations. While Australia
has a minute population of 23.9 million in comparison to China s 1.357 billion its economic ranking is
just as its population, lower than China s. Both economies have various similarities and differences in
areas such as economic systems and historical events, economic growth, quality of life, employment
and unemployment, distribution of income, environmental sustainability and, the role of government
in health care, education and social welfare. The following report will parallel and compare both
economies in retrospect to the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Environmental Performance index (EPI) gave Australia a score of 87.22 and a rank of 13,
whereas China achieved a score of 65.1 and a ranking of 109, this is most probable as a result of
China s environmental crisis due to rapid industrialisation.
Also, Australia s and China s Foreign Direct (FDI) and Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth saw
huge declines during the Global Financial Crisis (GFC). Both economies, being highly export driven,
especially China saw GDP declines from 2007 to 2008. Australia declined by 1.9% and China by
4.6%. Both economies also experienced a huge fall in FDI Australia s FDI declining 24% from the
previous year and China s declining 36%. The huge economic decline and lack of confidence in both
economies raised the unemployment rate in Australia from 4.6% to 5.4% and 4% to 4.3% in China.

Republican Party Viewpoints
Imagine getting raped by a family member and then are faced with the decision when an unwanted
pregnancy occurs due to this unfortunate traumatic event. What should be done? The Republican party
should win the 2016 elections because of the parties views on same sex marriage, abortion, and drugs.
According to....... The Republican party stands for a more traditional marriage between one women
and one man. The Republican party believes that it is healthier to have a one man and one women
authority in a household to create a more balanced environment. Republicans headed the enactment of
the Defense of Marriage Act. However, the Defense of Marriage Act was repealed by a Democratic

The Republican party has a firm belief that any unborn child, like any natural born individual, has the
right to life that should not be taken upon others to end. The Republicans believe that the fourteenth
amendment applies to all unborn children just as well as it does any individual. The Republican party
believes in giving women with pregnancies problems the support and resources needed. However, the
form of support can not be to infringe on the life of the unborn baby. The Republican party does not
promote the tax revenue for abortion;nevertheless, republicans support tax incentives for those who
choose to give the baby up for adoption instead of abortion. The Republican party platform has four
elements. These elements consist of the fetus is a person, the endorsement of a human life, that the
unborn child has a fundamental individual right to life which cannot be infringed upon, and call for a
judge who respects human life. Even though republicans are pro life it does not mean they do not
believe in women s rights, but they are however defending the rights to the unborn child. Democrats
however have a completely opposite view on the topic of abortion. The Democratic party sternly
believes in the rights of the women to decide what is to be done with the unborn

War Between Countries And The Time Frame Of The Vast...
I would like to know more in depth what happened during major wars in the past hundred years as
well as the weapons that changed war since then. History throughout time has been in great interest to
me because it is fun to learn about why certain events happened in time and the impact that resulted.
The topic war, in particular, is the most fascinating thing that occurs throughout history to me because
of the fact that it has been used as a way to dispute conflicts between countries and the time frame of
the vast advancements that have been made in weaponry in the past one hundred years. I feel I have
accumulated basic knowledge about war throughout my high school years by taking world and U.S
history courses. These courses were the easiest for me to learn because I was real intrigued to know
why something happened which led for another event to happen. To begin my search process, I
thought of material I already knew for my subject. Then after coming to a conclusions on material I
felt like learning more about, I began reading material off ordinary websites on my laptop.
Discovering that some websites were useless led me to rethink my choices. While reconsidering what
to do, I simply went to the C.O.S academic data base and clicked on the links SIRS Issue Researcher
and Global Issues in Context . These are the primary tools I used for most of my research. At first it
was difficult due to some of the articles not containing the information I needed and were just boring.

Perfect Octave-Personal Narrative
So I am not going lie. I have never been to a concert but I will be talking about a life changing event I
had with music in this essay. I would have to say life as a whole can be perfect and will have it ups
and downs no matter where you see you it. But for this paper I would have to start in school. Like any
other day I would have to say, it s like a Tuesday or maybe a Wednesday, but we as a class were going
into the studio. As we enter you talk about having a deeper relationship with the song and not just
saying oh that so good or oh god that was perfect . There s other ways of saying that and even a deeper
way of saying of that was a perfect Octave. But after each song play there will be some kind of feeling
being left.
Music is the one thing in this world that we all share if we like it or not. We won t all ways have the
same taste but there enough to be shared and show. Music is a vocal or instrumental sounds (or both)
combined in such a way as to produce beauty of form, harmony, and expression of emotion. And if
you have that kind of feeling into your music then what is the point of having it. Music can make you
feel love, gloom, calm, happiness, and even other feelings you might not know how to express out for
the world. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Characteristics Of Understanding The Culture And Society...
The mother art is architecture. Without an architecture of our own we have no soul of our own
civilization.
Frank Lloyd Wright
Architecture is an important aspect of understanding the culture and society of any civilisation. Today
I will be looking what similarities and differences can be seen between the Minoan architecture from
1900BC to 1150BC and the Roman architecture from 27BC to 180AD. I ll be mainly focusing on the
palaces of Knossos and Phaistos of Minoan, Crete and The Colosseum ad the Pantheon of Rome.
The architecture of Bronze Age Crete seems to be defined by the archaeological discoveries of
Knossos, Phaistos, Maila, Zakros and Palekastro. These four palaces and one town are the only major
pieces of Minoan building from ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Occupation continued in Knossos until 1200 BC when it was destroyed by fire, Knossos appears to
have been kept intact until the fire as a sort of headquarters while all the other palaces were destroyed.
The ruins we have today from discoveries made by Sir Arthur Evans in 1900 AD are the remains from
after the Palace of Knossos was burnt down. Knossos is a clear example of monumental (of great
importance or size) Minoan architecture.
There are several major courts that make up the Knossos palace; these include the large, rectangular
Central Court, the West Court, the West and East Wings, the theater, royal chambers, shrines and the
Throne Room. Like most Minoan buildings the Central Court seems to be the main focus of the
building. Stone was the primary building material, but also included a timber frame for flexibility.
Mortar linked the stones together and wood was used for all the columns, doors, windows and roofs.
The interior walls were plastered with clay and often had bright frescoes painted on them. The floors
were generally beaten down earth, but sometimes had small pebbles stuck into them. Lighting and
ventilation was primarily utilized through light wells, vertical airshafts that ran the full height of the
buildings. Drainage was controlled through a series of terracotta pipes and stone ductwork. The best
preserved section of this drainage system is below the East Wing. Polythyron doors are common
feature of Minoan palaces and Evans

Learning English As A Foreign Language
Introduction This essay will try to explain through the use of research why and how people learn
English as a foreign language. Brian Munoz is an example of a student learning English as a foreign
language. He was born in Mexico and his first language is Spanish. As well as studying English he has
also studied French. Brian has an interest in learning languages and wishes to one day be able to travel
to the countries where those languages are spoken. Brian would first like to visit the united states in
order to completely immerse himself in English. There are five members of his family, himself, his
parents and his siblings.
Motivation
Brian is both intrinsically and extrinsically motivated to learn English. In an interview he stressed that
he thinks English will be necessary in university in order for him to obtain a degree. Brian also stated
that he wishes to use his English skills in the future in order to obtain a better job. An intrinsic reason
is that Brian has two cousins who speak English that he would like to be able to talk to (Harmer; 2007,
pp. 98 104).
Learning Style Brian has a highly logical mathematical intelligence. This suggests he is a highly
analytical and scientific thinker (Oxford; 2001, pp. 359 366). Brian s style of learning can be
particularly well suited to learning grammar and other pattern based aspects of language. He finds
when the teacher gives the students a set formula to grammar learning very easy.
Teaching Method The Comprehension Based Approach will be best suited for Brian. Brian has stated
that he struggles the most with listening comprehension, and this approach emphasizes listening and
comprehension (Sauvignon; 2001, pp. 13 28).
Student Needs Brian would like to improve his English fluency, especially when listening to spoken
English. He is confident in his abilities in other areas such as grammar. A one on one lesson will be
designed to help Brian achieve his goals, and strengthen his weaknesses.
Language Skills Brian s weak points are in the listening and reading language skills. Brian finds
listening activities in his IMAC class to be difficult for him to understand. He has trouble paying
attention to the

Scottsboro Boys Trial
Shoot all the bluejays you want, if you can hit em, but remember it s a sin to kill a mockingbird (Lee,
98). Ever since its publication, Harper Lee s novel has been read by millions worldwide. Its
perspectives on racism and empathy have been reviewed, criticized, and analyzed by every
demographic. But there is the ever present question: what, in essence, does Harper Lee mean when she
declares it a sin to kill a mockingbird? Though she reveals that it is a sin because they are innocent,
what is she truly implying? Is she discussing the events of Tom Robinson s fictional trial, or
something deeper? However one visions it, it is clear the story would not have developed and lived up

The Scottsboro Boys was a nationally controversial case; and it all began with nine African American
men and two white women aboard a train. The train ride began on March 25, 1931. A fight erupted
between the African American men and the white men on board the train, and the African American
men won and forced the white men off. After news of the fight spread to Paint Rock, Alabama, all able
men with weapons waited for the train to arrive for its mortar stop. When the train pulled in, a racial
confrontation immediately ensued. In the midst of it all, two women, Victoria Price and Ruby Bates,
emerged from a train car and claimed they had been raped by the nine African American men that had
been on the train. Only the verbal confirmation from one of the white women that they had been raped
was enough to send the public into a frenzy. The men of Paint Rock surrounded the African American
boys and forced them to line up against a wall. Then they aggressively made them stand and wait for a
bus to take them to Scottsboro. The Scottsboro Boys were surrounded by the aggressive public as soon
as they were put in the Scottsboro jail. The sheriff had to go out and declare that violence towards the
prisoners would result in violence towards the instigator. While Atticus Finch did not condone
violence, this is similar to the To Kill A Mockingbird jail scene. Additionally, Victoria Price, one of the
accusers, had traits similar to those of Mayella Ewell. When the trials actually began, she would be
extremely evasive on the witness stand, and claim she did not know what would seem to be rather
obvious information. Also, her manner indicated she was uneducated, and like Mayella, and she would
frequently burst out in unintelligible streams of sentences. She was tough as nails, with foul language,
and improper clothes. She hardly fit the stereotype of the young Southern

Use Of Social Media Platforms On Consumer Behavior
Looking for information is a highly important driver for a consumer to use social media platforms.
Information quality refers to a consumer s assessment of the information presented on a website based
on accuracy, relevance, helpfulness, currency (being up to date), and unbiasness (Cao et al., 2005; Ou
Sia, 2010; Zhang von Dran, 2000). Information is considered to be a key website feature that
influences consumer behavior. Past research (Cao et al.; Day, 1997; Huizingh, 2000; Iyer, 2001;
Katerattanakul Siau, 1999; Ou Sia; Zhang von Dran) has found that information is highly important to
the development of a company s website to draw in and continue to attract online customers.
Interacting with information is described as the process people use in interacting with content (Toms,
2002). If a brand post contains information about the brand or product, then the brand fans
motivations to participate or consume the content of the brand post are realized.
Information content is considered to influence the cognitive (seeking, attending, interpreting, and
critiquing information), affective (excitement toward the information and ultimately the brand and
satisfaction), and behavioral (interacting with the information) components of online brand
engagement. Based on these, the following hypotheses are derived:
H1A: Perceived information quality on a Twitter brand s account that a consumer has followed
positively predicts cognitive online brand engagement.
H1B: Perceived

Richard Nixon Checkers Speech Analysis
Guilty or Innocent:Richard Nixon s Checkers Richard Nixon successfully used Pathos throughout his
Checkers Speech to appeal to the emotions of the American people. Nixon, more commonly known
for being one of the most hated presidents that the United States has endured, is exceptionally
brilliant. He used technology to help him plead his innocence, as he televised his big Checkers Speech
for the entire United States to hear. While being accused of accepting millions of dollars and putting
them into a slush fund , Nixon stood firm and exclaimed to the public, I want to make this particularly
clear that no contributor to this fund, no contributor to any of my campaigns, has ever received any
consideration that he would not have received as an ordinary constituent (par. 6)that he had no part in
anything fraudulent. However he does admit to taking one gift his Cocker Spaniel named Checkers.
Other than Checkers, which he receives nor gives any favoritism for accepting, he is an honest,
hardworking man. He stated that he did not care for the opinion of the public I just want to say this,
right now, that regardless of what they say about it, we re gonna keep it (par. 26) because his children
fell in love with it, and he couldn t bring himself to take it away from them. Throughout Nixon s
speech, he presents the illusion that he is in fact broke , thus appealing to poverty. He gives multiple
examples of his financial situations by stating, I owe 4500 dollars to the Riggs Bank in Washington,
D.C., with interest 4 and 1/2 percent. I owe 3500 dollars to my parents, and the interest on that loan,
which I pay regularly, because it s the part of the savings they made through the years they were
working so hard I pay regularly 4 percent interest. And then I have a 500 dollar loan, which I have on
my life insurance. (par. 23) which also establishes credibility with his audience. He also says, But Pat
and I have the satisfaction that every dime that we ve got is honestly ours. I should say this, that Pat
doesn t have a mink coat. But she does have a respectable Republican cloth coat, and I always tell her
she d look good in anything (par. 25) showing that money is not the reason he is running

Breast Implants Ethical Essay
Most Women today get breast implants to feel better about their physical appearance because society
is making harder for them to live up to the expectation of what a woman should look like. According
to the American society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, in today s society 316,848 surgeries in 2011
involved women getting breast implants (Jugenburg). Today more women are getting breast implants
for many reason now such as: to look better naked, to look better in clothes, to feel better about
themselves, to more confident, to feel less self conscious, and to have larger breast. The human
enhancement of breast augmentation, based on Dalai Lama s principles of ethics, is ethical because of

Legal Services And Legal Service
Commoditisation is defined as removing the uniqueness from a service, rendering it generic. Legal
services, in this context, comprises of different entities giving legal advice to the public. The
commoditisation of legal services describes how there has been a recent rise in the number of legal
services and legal fees are starting to become the only difference between them . A commercial
approach is applying the law in a business sense. Therefore, I will be discussing the controversy
regarding whether the price based competition in the legal sector will make legal services a
commodity in the future and if taking a commercial approach whilst giving legal advice will increase
or reduce its quality.
The preconception that access to legal services is expensive may stop areas of society from using
them. The recent legal aid cuts, which stood at 8.75% in 2015, could lead to the assumption that
receiving legal advice is too costly and potential consumers may not subsequently use the legal
services in any form. Also, as it is becoming normal for legal disputes to be settled outside of court,
acknowledging the high cost of legal fees due to its link with commerciality, potential consumers may
look for cheaper alternatives to using legal services and they may seek to avoid paying what they feel
might be extortionate fees for legal advice which may not reach their expected standard. The belief
that legal services are not accessible and the lack of faith in its effectiveness may reduce

Inventory Systems Paper
Inventory Systems Summary
Inventory control systems are used so that companies can track materials or products. Before
technology was so readily available, employees of companies had a harder time tracking inventory.
Today one can go into a large retailer and ask an employee to check if an item is in stock and all the
employee would have to do is check a little hand held device. The four types of inventory systems that
Team A decided to research and discuss were: Advanced Tracking System (ATS), Perpetual Inventory
System, Periodic Inventory System, and Just In Time Inventory System.
Advanced Tracking System (ATS)
Advanced Tracking System, or ATS, is a system that operates standalone or front end that interfaces
with almost any ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is also well suited for the type of industries where there isn t much processing to do, so the
inventory exists at only one level (for sale) rather than at three levels (raw materials, work in progress
and for sale) (Kulkarni, 2010).
Periodic Inventory System A periodic inventory control is a system with no continuous record of
changes. Inventory is only tracked periodically instead of per the transaction. At the end of a specific
period, usually an accounting period; quarterly or monthly, the ending inventory is found by a physical
count. The cost of each item is computed and deducted from the sum of purchases and the beginning
of the inventory to calculate cost of goods sold (Business Dictionary, 2010). The periodic inventory
system keeps the inventory balance at the same value that it was at the beginning of the period. The
inventory level is not updated after purchases, for accounting purposes; this system uses an account
called purchases at the end of the period, rather than debiting inventory.
Just In Time (JIT) Inventory System
Just In Time inventory system known as JIT is one of inventory systems used in companies to deliver
a finished product to customers quickly to reduce the overall ordering and inventory holding cost
(Atkinson, 2005). The system proves to be most effective for companies that lose money for holding a
product in its inventory for an extended period of time and

Can the Subaltern Speak
Gayatri Chakravorty Spivak Can the Subaltern Speak? An understanding of contemporary relations of
power, and of the Western intellectual s role within them, requires an examination of the intersection
of a theory of representation and the political economy of global capitalism. A theory of representation
points, on the one hand, to the domain of ideology, meaning, and subjectivity, and, on the other hand,
to the domain of politics, the state, and the law. The original title of this paper was Power, Desire,
Interest. 1 Indeed, whatever power these meditations command may have been earned by a politically

Why should such occlusions be sanctioned in precisely those intellectuals who are our best prophets of
heterogeneity and the Other? The link to the workers struggle is located in the desire to blow up power
at any point of its application. This site is apparently based on a simple valorization of any desire
destructive of any power. Walter Benjamin comments on Baudelaire s comparable politics by way of
quotations from Marx: 272 Marx continues in his description of the conspirateurs de profession as
follows: ... They have no other aim but the immediate one of overthrowing the existing government,
and they profoundly despise the more theoretical enlightenment of the workers as to their class
interests. Thus their anger not proletarian but plebian at the habits noirs (black coats), the more or less

conspirators.... He could perhaps have made Flaubert s statement, Of all of politics I understand only
one thing: the revolt, his own. 6 The link to the workers struggle is located, simply, in desire.
Elsewhere, Deleuze and Guattari have attempted an alternative definition of desire, revising

Pauline Letters Essay
A universal theme seen throughout the writings and letters of Paul is justification by faith. Justification
by faith means that those who truly share a belief in God are saved by him. During the biblical period,
it was commonly thought that our pending salvation was dependent on our ability to obey the laws
given to the chosen people, those whom were believed to be chosen by God. Instead, Paul argues that
our righteousness is obtained through our faith in Jesus alone.
The book of Romans gives answers to questions everyone may ask to themselves, such as how to
obtain our salvation, the judgment of all people at the end of time, how to grow ... Show more content

For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed a righteousness that is by faith from first to last,
just as it is written: The righteous will live by faith. (Romans 1:16 17) This substantiates the belief that
you cannot repair your relationship with God solely through your good deeds; it is instead
accomplished through faith in Jesus Christ and all of His wondrous works.
One may question how man can be justified if we are all born into sin. Paul answers this question in
(Romans 3:21 31), stating that men can be justified in the God s eyes through their faith in Jesus
Christ. An observant reader of the Bible may take note of how many times Paul mentions faith in this
section. God did it to demonstrate his righteousness at the present time, so as to be just and the one
who justifies those who have faith in Jesus. (Romans 3:26) One can imagine the Jewish reaction to
this declaration since their beliefs stem only from Old Testament teachings and justification was based
on being a Jew, circumcision, and the Law of Moses; not through faith in Jesus Christ. Paul anticipates
their objection when he asks, Do we, then, nullify the law by this faith? Not at all! Rather, we uphold
the law. (Romans 3:31) Here, Paul is concluding that it is through our preaching that men are justified
by their faith in Jesus Christ and are confirming the law. The Law of Moses directed men to Jesus
Christ because according to scripture, sin was prevalent at the time. The

Homophonic Instruments In Cool Fire
The first movement overall treatment of instruments is conservative throughout Cool Fire. The texture
is primarily homophonic in the first movement with seven main changes of sound in the first
movement. The structure is based on the traditional Classical Period rondo form. Moravec s
harmonies do not follow traditional chord progressions and are varied by using extended chords,
altered dominants, and modal scales. Three modes are used in main melodic sections. The first two are
in lydian dominant mode. The third theme uses octatonic mode or diminished scale, alternating whole

Crime And Punishment By Fyrodor Doveskey
The Theorized Extraordinary to the Ordinary Romantic
The human race remembers people in history who fought for something they believed in. For
example, both Neapolitan Bonaparte and George Washington killed other people in battle, because
they had something that they believed worthy to fight for regardless of the established and universal
law against killing. In Raskolnikov`s words from Crime and Punishment, they were extraordinary
men. These men, according to Raskolnikov, had the right to commit any crime, because they were
leading ordinary people into a new and improved society, without any moral repercussions. In Fyrodor
Doveskey`s, Crime and Punishment, his character Raskolnikov`s argument of the extraordinary man
versus the ordinary man, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, it becomes clear throughout the novel that he does feel guilty. For example, when
Raskolnikov helps Semyon Zakharovich Marmeladov return to his family after he is ran over,
Raskolnikov walks away feeling like he has somewhat atoned for his sins. Also, proving that
Raskolnikov feels guilty for what he did is that, at the end of the novel, Raskolnikov confesses in the
street, even though there was someone charged with the crime already. If, according to Raskolnikov,
an extraordinary man, which he believes himself to be, should feel no guilt, then why does
Raskolnikov feel the need to atone for his sins by helping Semyon Zakharovick Marmeladov`s family
and then eventually

a box office market share of around 64%. The mission of Cineplex was to give customers an

Criticism In Voltaire s Candide
Candide is Voltaire s most known literary work and most extensively read pieces of literature in
French. His philosophical tale is a means to portray his ideas. Simultaneously, amuse his readers with
satirical wit and ironical innuendo. Candide (the name refers to frankness and purity) is the main
character in the tale. The philosophical idea embodies optimism that is opposed by Voltaire s intend.
The directing force of the journey in this novel is Candide s love for Cunégonde. He goes to irrational
lengths to chase his love which includes deserting paradise of El Dorado, numerous murders, and
barely avoiding imprisonment and death sentence, mocked by the realism that once he can get married
to Cunégonde, he is no longer fascinated to her. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The readers comes across the daughter of a Pope; a Catholic priest must be celibate; a powerful
Catholic interrogator who deceitfully keeps a mistress; and a Franciscan friar who is an ornament

presents a Jesuit colonel with homosexual tendencies. Religious leaders carry out coldhearted
campaigns of religious suppression against those who vary with them on even the minimum of
religious matters. For example, Pangloss s study tyrannizes him for stating his ideas and Candide for
just presence of them. Voltaire inscribes about public oppression of heretics. Persecution itself is

Berlin Urban Voids
ARC303 Urban (Hi)Stories Berlin in Twentieth Century: Politics and Culture An Urban (Hi)Stories
about Voids Introduction: Berlin as Void In an official advertisement campaign of 1996, there was a
slogan written all over the city: Berlin wird (Berlin becomes). But Berlin becomes what ? Instead of a
proper predicate, we get a verbal void. In the worst scenario, as Karl Scheffler wrote at the end of his
classic 1910 portrait of the city, Berlin may forever to become and never to be. The twentieth century
urban history of Berlin was largely associated with the concept of voids. The voids that were created
by the unique apartment buildings, also known as Mietkasernen with enclosed inner courtyards. Only

This city s history has been written, erased, and rewritten throughout this violent century. Its legibility
relies as much on visible markers of built space as on images and memories repressed and ruptured by
traumatic events. At the start of the Twentieth century, Berlin s future would have followed a
completely different direction. In Walter Ruttmann s 1927 film Berlin: Symphony of a Metropolis, the
editing draws a large amount of the graphic and thematic parallels of a different group of people s
routine working life, people with machines or people and animals throughout the city. It shows a
highly lawful social condition. Even the conflicts and movements shown throughout the film are
coordinated in rhythmic and systematic order, forming a harmonious symphony about the
metropolitan. (Fig.1) This scene of flourishing united urban environment in the Weimar Republic
supposed to show a bright future of the city yet gradually lost in the following decades. As the war
destroyed tons of buildings in Berlin, left overwhelming ruins, the creation of voids in this city by the
politics was only about to begin. (Fig.2,

Presidential Rhetoric and Campaign Essay
Presidential Rhetoric and Campaign
Osama bin Laden
Osama bin Laden is a political icon to the people of Afghanistan. He has created a modern day crusade
against western civilization that people support because of his rhetorical ability to create, not only
through speech, but also through his actions, an insightful philosophy that has moved thousands of
people into action against the United States. He was able to achieve this because he chose a religious
path that people supported; he took influential persons in his life and his familial background into his
radical stance on Islamic government and created an historical movement that has affected thousands
of people.

He found that the bond held between the civilians of the U.S. was equivalent to fellowship found in
the Islamic religion, but the bond between the Muslim Brotherhood was something that was more
meaningful to him because of his devotion to his religion. The Muslim Brotherhood is an Islamic
organization that s goal is to build the Muslim individual. (http://www.ummah.org.uk/ikhwan/) In
order to do this they reject any other religious affiliations that do not focus on the Quran or Sunna

went on to categorize him as an Islamist. An Islamist is one who views Islam as the total way of life

For Redheads

On the other hand, if you have warm skin complexion and tan quickly, you should look for lipsticks in
colors like deep apricot or peach. Go for lighter tones, but only if you have light brown hair. If you

because it matches everything pretty well.

Women, who were gifted with black hair, can pull off red lipsticks with a brown base if they have

The Four Paradigms of Human Existence
In these last months of spring for 2014, the global conflicts have been very prominent. As a spectator
watching these unrests unfold I am lead to consider what is driving this unrest around the globe. To
give cause to these precipitous events one cannot help but try and get to basics first to help understand
who of the great intellects is looking in the right direction on the future of our world inhabitants. Of
the four paradigms, this case of believable results, shows for consideration to only one predictable
paradigm. In defense of stating a clear understanding one must first make look at the empirical facts
and so research and logic first leads us to the understanding of which of the authors of these four
paradigms and what each might have hopefully considered when they concluded the ideas that they

strong constructs that basic biology reveals Self actualization, Esteem, Love and Belonging, Safety,
and Physiological existence (Kurt Goldstein s book The Organism). The first, self actualization is
basically the purpose to understand one s full potential, Esteem is the need to feel respected; this
includes the need to have ones own self esteem and self respect. Esteem also portrays the typical
human desire to be accepted and valued by others. Love and belonging is next and human
requirements are always interpersonal and involve thoughts of belongingness which leads us

Consumer insight: The commercial tries to deliver the message that Bud light is good for every
occasion, hinting that the consumer motivations be affiliation, i.e., friendly, sociable and wanting to fit

It can be used for several years, but since it s not unique, consumers will probably not remember it.
Execution: The commercial is the problem solution kind of ads, by showing the audience a problem

Consumer insight: The underlying consumer motivation is temporarily escaping from stress and

The essay What if Shakespeare Had Had a Sister? by Virginia Woolf, an excerpt in 50 Essays: A

is one of the most prominent writers in history. As a modernist and feminist, she is known for several
of her masterpieces. Her book, A Room of One s Own, was written based off two lectures she gave

As Woolf closed, she said, do not look for Judith Shakespeare in Sir Sidney Lee s Life of a Poet. She

stomach with boiling water solely because I was trying to cook Kraft mac and cheese with the sun. If

When I was a little girl, I had always hated barbies and disney princesses with a passion. I thought
they were stupid, and the barbies I did have were hidden in the back of me and my brother s shared

had the ingenious idea to try and cook mac and cheese using the power of the sun on a ninety degree

various fake food items and cooking utensils. Somehow, I climbed onto the countertop and managed
to reach the top shelf where the elbow noodles were located, and poured them into the pot along with
sink water hot enough it hurt my hands a little. Then, I went outside and sat down on the rough
wooden porch with the pot in my hands, waiting for the noodles to cook. After about fifteen minutes,

For more than two centuries, coffee has been a fundamental part of the culinary and social culture of

It s not just the city s penchant for chicory café au lait served alongside warm beignets. Nor is it just

And it isn t solely boozy Café Brulôt, the brandy spiked coffee drink New Orleans families serve in

Alongside these the gustatory expressions is the city s historic and longstanding role in the coffee

How the Hippies Counterculture Transformed Music Essay
In the 1950 s and 1960 s, rebellion and music were synonymous. The 1950 s brought widespread
attention to a new kind of music coined as Rock n Roll . Because parents deemed the music as sinful,
the youth used it to establish an identity for themselvess. In the 1960 s, the rebellion was given a
collective charge when young adults voiced displeasure over the country s entrance into the Vietnam
War and the use of nuclear weapons. One group within this movement was coined the hippies . This

Haight Ashbury had a history of being an entertainment center, capitalizing on San Francisco s
economic success in the Gold Rush.
In his book titled The Making of a Counterculture: Reflections on the Technocratic Society and Its
Youthful Opposition, historian Theodore Roszak described a counterculture as typically involving
disapproval or an attempted dismissal of those institutions which presently hold some level of
dominance, while simultaneously having hope for an improved life in a new society, in terms of
thinking and being. There has been some level of debate, discussing whether or not the hippie
movement of the 1960 s and 1970 s matched this definition. Was the movement solely a product of the
hippie s clustered university lifestyle, where common experimentation with drugs as well as political
activism served as their own sources of rebellion? This notion was argued by anthropologist William
L. Partridge, in his case study titled The Hippie Ghetto: The Natural History of a Subculture.
Roszak argues in his book about a hippie rejection of technocracy: the system of organizations and
elite experts that influences society to attach itself to the importance of efficiency, rationalizing,
planning, and necessity, which hippies felt was clearly depicted by the nuclear arms race and fight
against communism between the United States and U.S.S.R.

Political Parties And The Republican Party Platform
Generally speaking, anyone who lives in the United States of America knows that there are two main
political parties the Republicans and the Democrats. Having two main parties has its advantages and,
of course, its disadvantages. For example, in By the People James E. Monroe and Rogan Kersh (301)
point out having this type of system creates predictability and stability. However, they also declare
(301) it can lead to a gridlock. This is not a new concept either as there has been a divide since the
beginning of both parties. The two parties more often than not disagree on various issues, while rarely
agreeing on what is best for the country.
Democrats and Republicans highly differ when comparing views on climate change. The Democrats
accept human role in climate change while many Republicans question if climate change is even real.
In the 2016 Democratic Party Platform (27), they state in the first 100 days of the next administration,
the president will convene a summit of the words best engineers, climate scientists, policy experts,
activists, and indigenous communities to chart a course to solve the climate crisis. This is highlighted
previously when President Obama, a Democrat, traveled to Paris for a convention about climate
change where he met other leaders around the world to make a plan to help fix the issues surrounding
climate change. This shows the basic principles of the Democratic Party as internationalist and having
the large government as it states in the

I would like to know more in depth what happened during major wars in the past hundred years as well as the weapons that changed war since then. History throughout time has been in great interest to me because it is fun to learn about why certain events happened in time and the impact that resulted. The topic war, in particular, is the most fascinating thing that occurs throughout history to me because of the fact that it has been used as a way to dispute conflicts between countries and the time frame of the vast advancements that have been made in weaponry in the past one hundred years. I feel I have accumulated basic knowledge about war throughout my high school years by taking world and U.S history courses. These courses were the easiest for me to learn because I was real intrigued to know why something happened which led for another event to happen. To begin my search process, I thought of material I already knew for my subject. Then after coming to a conclusions on material I felt like learning more about, I began reading material off ordinary websites on my laptop. Discovering that some websites were useless led me to rethink my choices. While reconsidering what to do, I simply went to the C.O.S academic data base and clicked on the links SIRS Issue Researcher and Global Issues in Context . These are the primary tools I used for most of my research. At first it was difficult due to some of the articles not containing the information I needed and were just boring. ... Knossos is a clear example of monumental (of great importance or size) Minoan architecture. There are several major courts that make up the Knossos palace; these include the large, rectangular Central Court, the West Court, the West and East Wings, the theater, royal chambers, shrines and the Throne Room. Like most Minoan buildings the Central Court seems to be the main focus of the building. Stone was the primary building material, but also included a timber frame for flexibility. Mortar linked the stones together and wood was used for all the columns, doors, windows and roofs. The interior walls were plastered with clay and often had bright frescoes painted on them. The floors were generally beaten down earth, but sometimes had small pebbles stuck into them. Lighting and ventilation was primarily utilized through light wells, vertical airshafts that ran the full height of the buildings. Drainage was controlled through a series of terracotta pipes and stone ductwork. The best preserved section of this drainage system is below the East Wing. • 8. Learning English As A Foreign Language Introduction This essay will try to explain through the use of research why and how people learn English as a foreign language. Brian Munoz is an example of a student learning English as a foreign language. He was born in Mexico and his first language is Spanish. As well as studying English he has also studied French. Brian has an interest in learning languages and wishes to one day be able to travel to the countries where those languages are spoken. Brian would first like to visit the united states in order to completely immerse himself in English. There are five members of his family, himself, his parents and his siblings. Motivation Brian is both intrinsically and extrinsically motivated to learn English. In an interview he stressed that he thinks English will be necessary in university in order for him to obtain a degree. Brian also stated that he wishes to use his English skills in the future in order to obtain a better job. An intrinsic reason is that Brian has two cousins who speak English that he would like to be able to talk to (Harmer; 2007, pp. 98 104). Learning Style Brian has a highly logical mathematical intelligence. This suggests he is a highly analytical and scientific thinker (Oxford; 2001, pp. 359 366). Brian s style of learning can be particularly well suited to learning grammar and other pattern based aspects of language. He finds when the teacher gives the students a set formula to grammar learning very easy. Teaching Method The Comprehension Based Approach will be best suited for Brian. Brian has stated that he struggles the most with listening comprehension, and this approach emphasizes listening and comprehension (Sauvignon; 2001, pp. 13 28). Student Needs Brian would like to improve his English fluency, especially when listening to spoken English. He is confident in his abilities in other areas such as grammar. A one on one lesson will be designed to help Brian achieve his goals, and strengthen his weaknesses. Language Skills Brian s weak points are in the listening and reading language skills. The Scottsboro Boys was a nationally controversial case; and it all began with nine African American men and two white women aboard a train. The train ride began on March 25, 1931. A fight erupted between the African American men and the white men on board the train, and the African American men won and forced the white men off. After news of the fight spread to Paint Rock, Alabama, all able men with weapons waited for the train to arrive for its mortar stop. When the train pulled in, a racial confrontation immediately ensued. In the midst of it all, two women, Victoria Price and Ruby Bates, emerged from a train car and claimed they had been raped by the nine African American men that had been on the train. Only the verbal confirmation from one of the white women that they had been raped was enough to send the public into a frenzy. The men of Paint Rock surrounded the African American boys and forced them to line up against a wall. Then they aggressively made them stand and wait for a bus to take them to Scottsboro. The Scottsboro Boys were surrounded by the aggressive public as soon as they were put in the Scottsboro jail. The sheriff had to go out and declare that violence towards the prisoners would result in violence towards the instigator. While Atticus Finch did not condone violence, this is similar to the To Kill A Mockingbird jail scene. Additionally, Victoria Price, one of the accusers, had traits similar to those of Mayella Ewell. When the trials actually began, she would be extremely evasive on the witness stand, and claim she did not know what would seem to be rather obvious information. Information is considered to be a key website feature that influences consumer behavior. Past research (Cao et al.; Day, 1997; Huizingh, 2000; Iyer, 2001; Katerattanakul Siau, 1999; Ou Sia; Zhang von Dran) has found that information is highly important to the development of a company s website to draw in and continue to attract online customers. Interacting with information is described as the process people use in interacting with content (Toms, 2002). If a brand post contains information about the brand or product, then the brand fans motivations to participate or consume the content of the brand post are realized. Information content is considered to influence the cognitive (seeking, attending, interpreting, and critiquing information), affective (excitement toward the information and ultimately the brand and satisfaction), and behavioral (interacting with the information) components of online brand engagement. Based on these, the following hypotheses are derived: H1A: Perceived information quality on a Twitter brand s account that a consumer has followed positively predicts cognitive online brand engagement. • 13. Legal Services And Legal Service Commoditisation is defined as removing the uniqueness from a service, rendering it generic. Legal services, in this context, comprises of different entities giving legal advice to the public. The commoditisation of legal services describes how there has been a recent rise in the number of legal services and legal fees are starting to become the only difference between them . A commercial approach is applying the law in a business sense. Therefore, I will be discussing the controversy regarding whether the price based competition in the legal sector will make legal services a commodity in the future and if taking a commercial approach whilst giving legal advice will increase or reduce its quality. The preconception that access to legal services is expensive may stop areas of society from using them. The recent legal aid cuts, which stood at 8.75% in 2015, could lead to the assumption that receiving legal advice is too costly and potential consumers may not subsequently use the legal services in any form. Also, as it is becoming normal for legal disputes to be settled outside of court, acknowledging the high cost of legal fees due to its link with commerciality, potential consumers may look for cheaper alternatives to using legal services and they may seek to avoid paying what they feel might be extortionate fees for legal advice which may not reach their expected standard. At the end of a specific period, usually an accounting period; quarterly or monthly, the ending inventory is found by a physical count. One may question how man can be justified if we are all born into sin. Paul answers this question in (Romans 3:21 31), stating that men can be justified in the God s eyes through their faith in Jesus Christ. An observant reader of the Bible may take note of how many times Paul mentions faith in this section. God did it to demonstrate his righteousness at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus. Paul anticipates their objection when he asks, Do we, then, nullify the law by this faith? Not at all! Rather, we uphold the law. But Berlin becomes what ? Instead of a proper predicate, we get a verbal void. In the worst scenario, as Karl Scheffler wrote at the end of his classic 1910 portrait of the city, Berlin may forever to become and never to be. At the start of the Twentieth century, Berlin s future would have followed a completely different direction. In Walter Ruttmann s 1927 film Berlin: Symphony of a Metropolis, the editing draws a large amount of the graphic and thematic parallels of a different group of people s routine working life, people with machines or people and animals throughout the city. It shows a highly lawful social condition. There has been some level of debate, discussing whether or not the hippie movement of the 1960 s and 1970 s matched this definition.
