The document describes a single inductor dual buck inverter topology. It discusses how dual buck inverters can solve issues like shoot-through and reverse recovery without adding dead time. A new topology is presented with a single inductor and series connected diodes. This topology retains advantages of no reverse recovery while improving magnetic utilization by using the full inductor. The topology is simulated in PSIM and results show it generates the expected output voltage waveform from an input DC source. Analysis finds it has high efficiency and no reverse recovery of body diodes due to the diodes preventing current flow through switch body diodes.
High Voltage Gain with low Current Stress Interleaved Boost Converter for Pho...Premier Publishers
A novel two stage interleaved boost converter (IBC) is investigated. In the proposed topology the advantages of IBC like current sharing, high voltage gain and less voltage and current stress on the switches are more effective. The stand-alone PV system is installed at a convenient place. The output of battery is given to proposed converter. The prototype hardware is developed without isolation transformer to drive the load about 600W with the use of pulse width modulated integrated circuits (PWM ICs) and the efficiency about 93%.
The voltage source inverters (VSI) are ever required section in the AC motor drive and power system interface. The electrical drive segment, the VSI based drives are unavoidable and they are closely operated with induction motor, permanent magnate synchronous motor and BLDC motor. These drives are normally needed high torque-power characters. Hence, the input DC-link side voltage is increased with help of increasing input AC in the rectifier input. However, this causes the power quality disturbance in the AC main and DC-link. In order to go for a increasing the AC voltage, the rectifier out is connected with DC to DC boost converter and they are increasing the DC voltage to meet out the drive DC-link voltage demand. With this aim, the paper proposes the idea to connect high step non-isolated high gain coupled DC to DC converter with three phase VSI for drives applications. The proposed converter has an ability to increase the voltage five times and the counter winding arrangement ratio of the converter is help for the further increase of gain. Inn this interface the front end DC to DC converters inductors are charged by making the short circuit with inverter switching. The converter voltage gain is controlled by shoot through of the VSI switch (converter gain directly proportional to inverter shoot through). The proposed converter has a higher degree of freedom in their values of winding and output voltage. Hence, the DC-link voltage of the inverter can be extended in any level. The operation principle and modes of the proposed DC to DC Source tied VSI is analyzed and simulated using MATLAB-Simulink software simulation. This paper intends to briefly compare the protection of buried three phase high voltage cable with Solkordifferential protection relay using metallic pilot wires orfibre optic pilot wires. Dielectric property of the fiber optic provides complete electrical isolation as well as interference free signaling. This provides total immunity from GPR (ground potential rise), longitudinal induction, and differential mode noise coupling andhigh-voltage hazards to personnel safety. So Fibre optic provides great advantage for Solkor differential protection relaying.
Sub-Threshold Leakage Current Reduction Techniques In VLSI Circuits -A SurveyIJERA Editor
There is an increasing demand for portable devices powered up by battery, this led the manufacturers of
semiconductor technology to scale down the feature size which results in reduction in threshold voltage and
enables the complex functionality on a single chip. By scaling down the feature size the dynamic power
dissipation has no effect but the static power dissipation has become equal or more than that of Dynamic power
dissipation. So in recent CMOS technologies static power dissipation i.e. power dissipation due to leakage
current has become a challenging area for VLSI chip designers. In order to prolong the battery life and maintain
reliability of circuit, leakage current reduction is the primary goal. A basic overview of techniques used for
reduction of sub-threshold leakages is discussed in this paper. Based on the surveyed techniques, one would be
able to choose required and apt leakage reduction technique.

Two parallel single phase rectifiers by using single phase to three phase ind...eSAT Journals
Abstract A single-phase to three-phase drive system composed of two parallel single-phase rectifiers, a three-phase inverter and an induction motor was proposed. The system combines two parallel rectifiers without the use of transformers. The system model and the control strategy, including the PWM technique, have been developed. The complete comparison between the proposed and standard configurations has been carried out in this paper. Compared to the conventional topology, the proposed system permits to reduce the rectifier switch currents, the THD of the grid current with same switching frequency or the switching frequency with same THD of the grid current and to increase the fault tolerance characteristics. In addition, the losses of the proposed system may be lower than that of the conventional counterpart. The initial investment of the proposed system (due to high number of semiconductor devices) cannot be considered a drawback, especially considering the scenario where the cited advantages justify such initial investment. The experimental results have shown that the system is controlled properly, even with transient and occurrence of fault

Trends in High Performance Operation of Electro Absorption Integrated Laser M...Editor IJARCET
For high bit rates and long haul optical
communication systems using a single-mode fiber, a modulator
with low chirp and small size are demanded. An electroabsorption
modulator is very attractive because it has some
advantages of not only low chirp and small size but also the
elimination of polarization control through monolithic
integration with a distributed feedback (DFB) laser. The
modulation bandwidth of traditional lumped electro-absorption

The ease of programming and interfacing with other peripherals make PIC a successful microcontroller. A two level inverter output can be well verified at the output of the dual buck inverter without any reverse recovery loss.

Analysis and Design of Solar Photo voltaic Grid Connected Inverterijeei-iaes
This paper presents common mode voltage analysis of single phase grid connected photovoltaic inverter. Many researchers proposed different grid tie inverters for applications like domestic powering, street lighting, water pumping, cooling and heating applications, however traditional grid tie PV inverter uses either a line frequency or a high frequency transformer between the inverter and grid but losses will increase in the network leading to reduced efficiency of the system. In order to increase the efficiency, with reduced size and cost of the system, the effective solution is to remove the isolation transformer. But common mode (CM) ground leakage current due to parasitic capacitance between the PV panels and the ground making the system unreliable. The common mode current reduces the efficiency of power conversion stage, affects the quality of grid current, deteriorate the electric magnetic compatibility and give rise to the safety threats. In order to eliminate the common mode leakage current in Transformerless PV systm two control algorithms of multi-carrier pwm are implemented and compared for performance analysis. The shoot-through issue that is encountered by traditional voltage source inverter is analyzed for enhanced system reliability. These control algorithms are compared for common mode voltage and THD comparisons. The proposed system is designed using MATLAB/SIMULINK software for analysis.
An inclination towards renewable energy resources has been increased due to the requirement of clean environment and to satisfy the increasing power demand for the long run. A grid connected system requires the availability of a transformer in its power conversion stages that provides galvanic isolation between the grid and the power system. But inclusion of transformer results in making the system bulky and more expensive. In this paper different transformer-less PV inverter topologies are analyzed by comparing their efficiency, leakage current and THD of load current using MATLAB/Simulink environment. In order to achieve maximum power, maximum power point tracking (P&O algorithm) is used. From the simulation results, modified HB-ZVR is found to have minimum leakage current and constant common mode voltage with higher efficiency. Also, the hardware results are obtained for modified HB-ZVR topology.

CFD Simulation of By-pass Flow in a HRSG module by R&R Consult.pptxR&R Consult
CFD analysis is incredibly effective at solving mysteries and improving the performance of complex systems!
Here's a great example: At a large natural gas-fired power plant, where they use waste heat to generate steam and energy, they were puzzled that their boiler wasn't producing as much steam as expected.
R&R and Tetra Engineering Group Inc. were asked to solve the issue with reduced steam production.
An inspection had shown that a significant amount of hot flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes, where the heat was supposed to be transferred.
R&R Consult conducted a CFD analysis, which revealed that 6.3% of the flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes without transferring heat. The analysis also showed that the flue gas was instead being directed along the sides of the boiler and between the modules that were supposed to capture the heat. This was the cause of the reduced performance.
Based on our results, Tetra Engineering installed covering plates to reduce the bypass flow. This improved the boiler's performance and increased electricity production.
It is always satisfying when we can help solve complex challenges like this. Do your systems also need a check-up or optimization? Give us a call!
